E-1 Ihr mögt euch setzen. Dies ist eine großartige Gelegenheit, heute Abend wieder zurückzukommen. Und für mich ein großer Segen, zu kommen und zu euch zu sprechen über unseren Herrn Jesus. Ich bin gewiß, dass die meisten von euch Ihn kennen, oder ich hoffe, dass ihr Ihn kennt, in der Vergebung eurer Sünden und in der Art Seiner Gnade zu euch. Und möge Er euch heute Abend mehr von Seiner Gnade gewähren. Wenn wir von hier gehen, mögen wir imstande sein zu sagen wie die, die von Emmaus kamen: „Brannte nicht unser Herz in uns, da Er mit uns auf dem Wege redete.”
Nun, jeden Morgen…
E-2 Ich glaube, sie haben eine ... das Volk liebt ihn. Herr Vayle hier gibt eine Lektion, eine Art Fragen und Antworten, und er spricht über die Schrift. Ist es hier in diesem Gebäude? Gerade hier im Gebäude an einem Vormittag. Und wenn irgend jemand frei ist, und einige Prediger und so weiter ihn besuchen möchten, nun, jedermann ist willkommen. Und Bruder Vayle ist wirklich ein tiefer Lehrer. Wirklich, er hat eine gute Ausbildung.
E-3 Und deshalb sagte ich neulich, ich wünschte, ich hätte eine Ausbildung. Ich muss Gleichnisse anwenden und so etwas, um zu erklären, wißt ihr. Ich habe nicht genug Schulung, um es auseinanderzulegen. Aber irgendwie hilft mir der Herr, damit durchzukommen.
Und so erinnere ich mich, es war einmal ein Mann in der Schrift, sein Name war Johannes, und sein Vater war ein Priester. Normalerweise folgten sie dem, was ihr Vater tat. Aber er hatte wirklich eine Botschaft. Er sollte den Messias ankündigen. Wenn er zur Schule hinuntergegangen wäre, von der sein Vater kam, hätten sie gesagt: „Nun, weißt du, lieber Bruder So-und-So? Das ist jetzt der Messias.” Sie hätten es ihm fast eingeredet. So seht, er ging nicht auf irgendeine Schule dieser Art.
E-4 Er ging in die Wildnis, wo er von Gott lernte.
Habt ihr beachtet, wie seine Botschaften herauskamen? Er hatte niemals eine Bildung. Er ging mit 9 Jahren hinein, kam mit 30 Jahren heraus, predigte 6 Monate und wurde hingerichtet. Nun, wir finden heraus, dass er... Gerade als die Pharisäer und die Sadduzäer herauskamen, und er sagte: „Oh ihr Generation von Schlangen!” Das ist es, was er in der Wildnis gesehen hatte; Schlangen, etwas was dreckig und schleimig ist und täuschend. Seht?
Nun, jemand mag gesagt haben: „Wie, du kleines verächtliches, lästiges Stück”, oder so was. Aber er... Aber seht, er kannte keine Worte, die er gebrauchen konnte; so sagte er eben, „Ihr Generation von Schlangen”. Das ist es, was er in der Wildnis gesehen hatte. Er sagte, „Wer hat euch gesagt, dass ihr vor dem kommenden Zorn entfliehen werdet? Fangt nicht an zu sagen, ‚Wir haben, wir gehören hierzu und dazu'; denn Gott ist imstande, aus diesen Steinen,” die er gesehen hatte, „dem Abraham Kinder zu erwecken. Und die Axt ist den Bäumen an die Wurzel gelegt.” Er wußte, was man mit einem schlechten Baum tun sollte. „Welcher Baum nicht gute Frucht bringt, wird abgehauen und ins Feuer geworfen”, um das schlechte Holz zu verbrennen.
Seht, seine ganze Botschaft war etwas aus der Natur, er nahm sie als Muster. Die gewöhnlichen Leute verstehen das. Und dann... Ich denke manchmal, es mag ein bißchen besser sein, es so zu tun als all diese wichtigen großen Worte, die die Menschen in der Schule lernen.
E-5 Nun, wir waren letzten Abend ein wenig spät, so versuchen wir, dass ihr heute Abend, wenn es möglich ist, pünktlich herauskommt. Und ich vertraue, dass der Herr es nicht zu schlimm regnen lassen wird auf dieses Blechdach; so werden wir einfach glauben und versuchen, Ihm so gut zu dienen, wie wir es wissen.
E-6 Nun, laßt uns aufstehen, während wir das Wort lesen, während wir jetzt aus 1. Mose lesen. Und wir beginnen mit dem 22. Kapitel, dem 7. Vers bis einschließlich Vers 14.
Da sprach Isaak zu seinem Vater Abraham: Mein Vater! Abraham antwortete: Hier bin ich mein Sohn. Und er sprach: Siehe, hier ist Feuer und Holz; wo ist aber das Schaf zum Brandopfer?
Abraham antwortete: Mein Sohn, Gott wird sich ersehen ein Schaf zum Brandopfer. Und gingen beide miteinander.
Und als sie kamen an die Stätte, die ihm Gott gesagt hatte, baute Abraham daselbst einen Altar und legte das Holz darauf und band seinen Sohn Isaak, legte ihn auf den Altar oben auf das Holz
und reckte seine Hand aus und faßte das Messer, dass er seinen Sohn schlachtete.
Da rief ihm der Engel des HERRN vom Himmel und sprach: Abraham! Abraham! Er antwortete: Hier bin ich.
Er sprach: Lege deine Hand nicht an den Knaben und tue ihm nichts; denn nun weiß ich, dass du Gott fürchtest und hast deines einzigen Sohnes nicht verschont um meinetwillen.
Da hob Abraham sein Augen auf und sah einen Widder hinter sich in der Hecke mit seinen Hörnern hangen und ging hin und nahm den Widder und opferte ihn zum Brandopfer an seines Sohnes Statt.
Und Abraham hieß die Stätte: Der HERR sieht. Daher man noch heutigestages sagt: Auf dem Berge, da der HERR sieht.
E-7 Laßt uns unsere Häupter beugen für einen Augenblick des Gebetes. Unser Himmlischer Vater, uns wird durch dieses Wort gesagt, welches Gott ist, dass „Glaube durch das Hören des Wortes Gottes kommt.” Und jetzt, Vater, bitten wir, dass Du uns den Zusammenhang des Vorgelesenen geben möchtest, dass wir lernen mögen, wie es uns in der Bibel gesagt wird, dass „alle diese Dinge zurückliegend im Alten Testament Beispiele waren, damit wir erkennen sollten.” Jene, die Gottes Ruf gehorchen, sind gesegnet. Jene, die es abweisen, sind verflucht. So bitten wir, Vater, dass wir heute Abend Verständnis haben mögen durch die Offenbarung. Möge der Heilige Geist uns die Dinge offenbaren, die sich auf uns in dieser Zeit beziehen; es war alles in diesem großen Geheimnis Gottes verborgen, welches seit Grundlegung der Welt gewesen ist. Denn wir bitten es in Jesu Namen. Amen. Ihr mögt euch setzen.
E-8 Ich möchte, so der Herr will, über das Thema sprechen: Jehova Jireh. Das Wort bedeutet: „Gott wird Sich Selbst ein Opfer bereiten.” Und wir sprechen über Abraham; und dies war zu der Zeit, wo er nach einem verheißenen Sohn Ausschau hielt.
Um die wirkliche Wahrheit davon zu erfassen, werden wir zurückgehen. Und dieses war in dem 22. Kapitel. Wir möchten das Zurückliegende in Augenschein nehmen; ich habe hier einige Schriftstellen herausgeschrieben, auf die ich mich, wenn möglich, beziehen möchte. Und ich möchte darüber sprechen, und ich möchte im 12. Kapitel anfangen.
Wir werden zurückgehen, um herauszufinden, wer dieser Charakter Abraham ist; und jetzt, wie es kam, dass Gott ihn erwählt hat.
E-9 Wir wissen, dass die Verheißung Abraham gegeben wurde und seinem Samen nach ihm. Und nur, indem wir in Abraham sind, sind wir Erben mit ihm mit der Verheißung. Nun, Abraham hatte Samen, und der Samen war, sicherlich, er hatte viele Samen; aber er hatte einen Samen, dem die Verheißung galt.
Er hatte Ismael; und dann, nachdem Sara starb, heiratete er eine andere Frau und hatte sieben Söhne außer den Töchtern. Und sie sind alle Samen Abrahams, die Samen Abrahams; aber der Same war derjenige, der die Verheißung hatte. Und der Same tatsächlich ist der Glaube Abrahams, den er in dem verheißenen Wort Gottes hatte.
E-10 Nun, wir sehen, dass Abraham nicht erscheint bis wir ihn hier ungefähr im 12. Kapitel finden. In dem 11. Kapitel des 1. Buches Mose sehen wir, dass sein Vater von Babylon herunterkam. Und Abraham war eben ein gewöhnlicher Mann, gerade wie du und ich, oder sonst jemand. Er wurde vielmehr, wie wir meinen würden, ein betagter Mann. Er war 75 Jahre alt. Er hatte seine Halbschwester geheiratet. Ihr Name war Sara. Und sein Name war dann, sicherlich, war nicht Abraham, es war Abram. Und ihrer war Sara. So sehen wir, dass sie zehn Jahre jünger war als er, sie war demnach 65 Jahre alt und er 75 Jahre alt.
E-11 Sie lebten wahrscheinlich als Farmer in dem Tal von Shinar, und lebten ein gewöhnliches Leben. Er ging tagsüber wahrscheinlich hinaus und bekam Fleisch aus dem Busch und pflückte Beeren und lebte diese Art von Leben. Eben ein normaler Mann, es hatte nichts Besonderes mit ihm auf sich.
Aber eines Tages rief Gott ihn. Das ist es, was den Unterschied machte, als Gott den Ruf gab. Und auf diese Weise ist es in jedem Leben. Es benötigt Gott. Es ist nicht was du tust, es ist, was Gott tut. Seht? Ihr sagt, „Ich suchte Gott. Ich suchte Gott.” Ihr irrt euch. Kein Mensch sucht Gott. Gott sucht den Menschen. Seht? Es ist nicht, dass ihr Gott sucht; es ist Gott, welcher euch sucht. Jesus sagte: „Ihr habt Mich nicht erwählt, sondern Ich habe euch erwählt. Seht?
So seid ihr erwählt vor Grundlegung der Welt, oder ihr wart überhaupt nicht erwählt. Er kam gerade, um diesen Namen zu erlösen. Und alle, deren Namen nicht in dem Lebensbuch des Lammes sind... vor Grundlegung der Welt, sind sowieso die Einzigen, die dort sein werden. Seht? Ihr wart erwählt in Ihm vor Grundlegung der Welt. Als das Lamm erwählt wurde, da wurdet ihr erwählt mit Ihm, vor der Grundlegung. Und ihr seid, wie ich gestern Abend sagte, eine Eigenschaft von Gottes Gedanken. Seht, das ist die einzige Art, wie ihr ewig sein könnt, und die einzige Form des Ewigen Lebens. Es gibt nur eine Form des Ewigen Lebens, und das ist Gott. So, das ist alles; Er ist der Eine, der ewig ist.
E-12 Nun, wir sehen, dass Abraham diesen Platz hatte. Und Gott arbeitete im Alten Testament Typen und Schattenbilder aus, um zu zeigen, was Er tun würde. Nun sehen wir hier, dass Gott zu ihm sprach. Und die große Sache, nachdem Gott ihn gerufen hatte... Der Ruf, den Gott gab, war ein übernatürlicher Ruf. Aber doch machte es Abraham nicht unsicher, niemals. Er wußte immer, dass es Gott war. Das ist eine große Sache. Gottes Berufungen sind übernatürlich; da ist nichts natürlich. Gott nimmt das Übernatürliche und arbeitet es aus im Natürlichen; aber die Berufungen Gottes sind übernatürlich. Die Bibel sagt: „Gaben und Berufungen sind unwiderruflich.” Seht, es ist vorherbestimmt von Gott.
E-13 Nun, wir finden in diesem hier, als Abraham gerufen wurde, hörte er die Stimme Gottes; und Er sagte ihm etwas, was beinahe total unmöglich war. Er war 75 Jahre alt, seine Frau 65 Jahre alt. Danach wäre sie ungefähr zwanzig Jahre über die Menopause hinaus, und er lebte mit ihr seit sie ein Mädchen war. Sie hatten keine Kinder. Und dennoch, Er sagte ihm, dass sie ein Baby haben werden, und durch dieses Baby würde die ganze Welt, alle Nationen gesegnet.
Nun, das ist eine befremdende Sache.
E-14 „Und Abraham”, sagt die Bibel in Römer 4, „strauchelte nicht an der Verheißung Gottes durch Unglauben, sondern war stark und gab Gott die Ehre.”
Ich kann mir vorstellen, nach dem ersten Monat... Sicher, wie ich sagte, war Sara über die Zeit ihrer Regel hinaus. Ich kann mir vorstellen, wie Abraham im ersten Monat sagte, „Sara, wie fühlst du dich, Liebling?”
„Kein Unterschied.”
„Nun, Preis Gott, wir werden das Baby trotzdem haben. Wir werden es eben haben, Gott hat es gesagt.”
E-15 Sara strickte die kleinen Schuhe und nahm die Windeln und die Nadeln und alles; bereitete sich vor, bereitete sich darauf vor, denn sie wußte, dass sie es bekommen wird. Gott sagte es. Seht?
Das erste Jahr verging. „Fühlst Du irgendeinen Unterschied, Liebling?”
„Nicht den geringsten Unterschied.”
„Preis Gott! Es wird jetzt ein größeres Wunder sein als zuerst. Sieh, es ist ein Jahr später. Wir werden es trotzdem haben.” Warum? Gott hat es gesagt. Damit ist es erledigt. Gott hat es gesagt. Wir... Gott hat es gesagt.
Zehn Jahre vergingen. „Wie fühlst Du Dich jetzt, Liebling?” Hier ist sie: 75 Jahre, und er ist 85. 32 Nun, könnt ihr euch heute einen alten Mann und eine Frau wie sie vorstellen, die zum Krankenhaus hinuntergehen und sagen: „Doktor, wir möchten eine Vereinbarung treffen. Wir werden...”
E-16 Gott verlangt von euch, dass ihr eins der lächerlichsten Dinge glaubt; aber Er macht es immer richtig.
Eine Person, die Gott glaubt, handelt absolut verrückt für die Welt. Könnt ihr euch Mose vorstellen, trainiert in der ganzen Weisheit der Ägypter, das Haupt der Armeen, der Armeen Ägyptens. Und dennoch, er brauchte vierzig Jahre, um sich da hinaufzutrainieren, und Gott brauchte vierzig Jahre, um diese Schulung aus ihm herauszubekommen; gerade was die Welt brauchte, um es in ihn hineinzubekommen. Weitere vierzig Jahre, Er holte alles Training aus ihm heraus, all die Schulung, die Theologie aus ihm heraus. Und Er begegnete ihm hinten in der Wüste, und er wußte in fünf Minuten in der Gegenwart Gottes mehr über Gott als er in vierzig Jahren aus den Büchern gelernt hatte. Das stimmt.
E-17 Man kennt Gott nicht durch Schulung. Er wird durch Glauben erkannt. Und Gott sprach zu ihm im Übernatürlichen.
Und welch eine lächerliche Sache läßt Gott uns manchmal tun. Könntet ihr euch einen alten Mann vorstellen, achtzig Jahre alt, in Eile, ein Prophet, der von Gott wegläuft, und der fünf Minuten in der Gegenwart Gottes war. Könntet ihr euch ihn am nächsten Morgen vorstellen: Einen alten Mann, sein Bart hängt so herunter, seine Glatze leuchtet, einen Krückstock in seiner Hand; seine Frau sitzt rittlings auf einem Maultier, ein Kind auf ihrer Hüfte, auf dem Wege hinunter!
„Wohin gehst du Mose?”
„Ich gehe hinunter nach Ägypten, es zu übernehmen.” Seht, Machtübernahme, eine Einmann-Invasion.
Das klingt lächerlich. Aber die Sache war, er tat es, weil Gott es so sagte. Damit ist es erledigt. Wenn Gott so sagt, dann hat es sich damit. Das ist es. Wenn Gott die Verheißung gab, hänge deine Seele daran. Wenn du es glauben kannst, hänge deine... Wenn du es nicht glaubst, bleibe davon weg; es wird dir schaden. Aber wenn du es glaubst, verbleibe damit, es wird dich zum Sieg bringen, um alles in der Welt.
E-18 Nun, wir sehen, dass Abraham nicht unsicher wurde über die Verheißung Gottes. Und als er 100 Jahre alt war und sie 90; ich kann ihn hören; er kann jetzt kaum mehr reden; er wird so alt und schwach.
„Nun, Sara, Liebes, wie fühlst Du Dich?”
„Oh, Liebling, ich fühle nicht anders.”
„Halleluja! Wir werden es sowieso haben. Gott hat so gesagt, damit hat es sich. Gott gab die Verheißung.” Er sagte, er war ‚völlig überzeugt, dass Gott imstande war zu erfüllen, was Er verheißen hat.'
Und jetzt bezeichnen wir uns selbst als der Same Abrahams, Sein Königlicher Same (nicht Isaaks Same), Sein Königlicher Same, Christus; und stolpern bei jeder Verheißung, machen viel Aufheben darüber und sagen, dass es nicht so ist, und bezweifeln es in unserem Sinn? Ich bezweifle, dass wir Abrahams Same sind, wenn wir diese Art Gedanken in uns haben.
Abrahams Same stolpert nicht über irgendeine Sache. Er benennt Dinge, die nicht da sind, als ob sie da wären, weil Gott so sagte. Er ist ein Schöpfer. Er kann es so schaffen. Er hat es verheißen, und damit ist es erledigt. Das ist alles, was es damit auf sich hat. Wenn Gott es sagt, dann ist die ganze Sache erledigt.
Nun, denkt daran. Er wollte... konnte nicht... Er sagte....
E-19 Eine weitere Sache, die Er ihm gesagt hatte zu tun, war, sich jetzt von seiner Verwandtschaft und von seinem ganzen Volk zu trennen. Wenn Gott einem Mann oder Frau, einem Jungen oder Mädchen eine Anordnung gibt, Ihm zu gehorchen, dann müßt ihr euch selbst von allem Unglauben trennen, das stimmt, bis ihr euch selbst von allem trennt, was im Gegensatz zu diesem Wort ist und müßt es glauben. Gott fordert zu einer totalen Trennung auf.
E-20 Welch ein Unterschied ist es heutzutage in unseren Schulen, die Prediger aussenden. Sie statten sie einfach mit allen möglichen Dokumenten des Unglaubens aus und mit Theorien, die nicht schriftgemäßer sind als irgendein Glaubensbekenntnis, das sie aufstellen, und dann senden sie sie aus mit solch einer Grundlage. Kein Wunder, dass wir eben einen Haufen von Oswalds und Jack Ruby's und so weiter durch das Land hindurch ausgebrütet haben. Der Kommunismus verschlingt das Land, weil wir Seminar- und Brutkastenprediger haben anstelle von gottgesandten, wiedergeborenen, vom Heiligen Geist erfüllten, feuergeborenen Söhnen Gottes; Kinder Abrahams, welche glauben, dass das Wort Gottes ausgesprochen die Wahrheit ist, und nichts als die Wahrheit; robust, und können dort auf den Verheißungen stehen im Angesicht von irgendetwas und es kühn vertreten, dass es die Wahrheit ist. Es ist Gottes Wort. In Ordnung.
E-21 Jetzt sagte Er: „Trenne dich von deiner ganzen Verwandtschaft, von deinem ganzen Volk, alles, und folge Mir.” Gott hat Seinen Weg nicht geändert. Gott ist der unveränderliche Gott. In der Art, wie Gott irgendetwas einmal macht, muss Er es das zweite Mal genauso tun. Merkt euch, wenn ihr Gottes Handlung zu irgendeiner Zeit sehen könnt...
Wenn ein Mensch verloren war, und Er rettete einen Menschen auf der Basis von irgendeiner bestimmten Entscheidung, die Er traf, dann muss Er für immer mit derselben Entscheidung verbleiben. Er kann sie nicht ändern, seht? Er ist unendlich. Wir sind endlich. Ich kann morgen mehr wissen als ich heute weiß. So könnt ihr nächstes Jahr mehr wissen als ihr dieses Jahr wißt. Ihr wißt dieses Jahr mehr als im letzten Jahr; aber Gott nicht. Er ist Perfekt, unendlich. Alles, was Er tut, ist perfekt. Er kann nicht heute eine Entscheidung treffen und morgen eine bessere machen. Seine erste ist perfekt. Deshalb könnt ihr eben eure Seele an alles klammern, was Er sagt, es ist die Wahrheit.
E-22 Gott war einmal genötigt, eine Entscheidung zu machen, wie Er einen Menschen retten würde. Und die Weise, wie Er es tat, war auf Grund des vergossenen Blutes eines Unschuldigen, im Garten Eden. Und der Mensch hat alles in der Welt versucht, einen Menschen auf andere Weise zu retten; sie haben Stätten gebaut, sie haben Türme gebaut, sie haben Organisationen gehabt, Schulungen und alles andere, und die ganze Sache ist ein totaler Reinfall. Es gibt nur eine Art, wie Gott je einen Menschen rettet, das ist durch das vergossene Blut eines Unschuldigen. Das ist die einzige Weise. Das war Gottes erste Entscheidung. Er verbleibt immer damit.
Wenn Gott jemals einen Menschen auf der Basis heilte, auf der Er ihn heilte, dann muss Er den nächsten heilen, wenn er zu diesem Ort kommt. Wenn Er es nicht täte, dann handelte Er verkehrt wie Er das erste Mal handelte, als die Entscheidung gemacht werden mußte. Wenn Er je eine Entscheidung trifft, dann muss Er für immer damit verbleiben. Wenn Er es nicht tut, dann hat Er damals die falsche Entscheidung getroffen. Seht? Und wer kann sagen, dass Gott die falsche Entscheidung gemacht hat? Seht? Wir könnten das nicht sagen. So muss Gott für immer mit Seiner Entscheidung verbleiben. So, wenn Er es macht, dann ist es das.
E-23 So sagte Er: „Trenne dich von deiner ganzen Verwandtschaft, alles; von allem Unglauben, der unten aus Babylon heraufkam.” Die erste große Organisation in der Welt war Babylon, als sie die ganzen Städte organisierten, um dieser einen Stadt Zins zu zahlen; der direkte Typ.
All diese „Ismen” und die Dinge, die heute gesehen werden. Wenn ihr je Hislops Buch ‚Zwei Babylons' lest und so weiter, und zurückkommt nach 1. Buch Mose, werdet ihr herausfinden, dass im 1. Mose der Anfang war; ihr seht all diese „Ismen” und Dinge genau darin richtig plaziert. Seht, die formellen Pharisäer, die von dort herunterkamen, von jener Frau mit den seltsamen Wurzeln und so weiter, die gerade herunterkamen in den Tagen Jesu. Pharisäer glaubten nicht an den Geist oder irgendetwas anderes, und sie standen Jesus im Wege.
Und Jesus sagte: „Laßt sie gehen. Wenn ein Blinder einen Blinden leitet, fallen sie beide in die Grube. Laßt sie gehen.” Er predigte einfach weiter und heilte die Kranken und vollbrachte Wunder, fuhr in demselben weiter fort. Es hat Ihn nicht gestoppt, denn Er war das Wort. Das Wort geht gerade weiter, ungeachtet dessen, was stattfindet. So sehen wir diese Dinge weitergehen, und schließlich kommen sie zur Blüte hier in den letzten Tagen. Wie Jambres und Jannes Mose widerstanden, so wird es dieselbe Sache sein.
E-24 Nun, totale Trennung von jedem Unglauben. Und denkt daran, Abraham, der Patriarch, wurde nicht im vollen Maß gesegnet bis er genau befolgte, was Gott zu tun sagte. Und wir werden niemals, niemals irgendwie gesegnet werden und die Segnungen haben, bis wir befolgen, was Gott zu tun sagte.
E-25 Eine andere Sache, von der ich möchte, dass ihr sie beachtet, hier im 12. Kapitel, dass der Bund ganz und gar bedingungslos war. Es war keine einschränkende Bedingung. „Ich habe.” Nicht: „Wenn du... ” Es gab keine „Wenn's” darin. „Ich habe es bereits getan.” Er gab Abraham den Bund bedingungslos.
Und wißt ihr, in dem Bund mit Adam war es, „Wenn du diesen Baum nicht berührst, dann werde Ich so-und-so tun. Aber wenn du es tust, dann werde Ich so-und-so tun müssen.” Seht, das war zugehörig zum Gesetz. Aber in diesem Bund, „Ich habe dich bereits zum Vater vieler Nationen gemacht.” Und es ist alles bedingungslos. Der Bund ist reine Gnade, eben absolute Gnade.
Das einzige, was sie tun mußten, um diesen Bund aufrechtzuerhalten, war, fortdauernd in dem Land zu bleiben; und jeder Segen, der mit dem Bund einherging, war mit ihnen. Das einzige, was sie tun mußten, war, in dem Land zu bleiben. Nun, wir finden heraus, als sie in Ägypten hinuntergingen, verloren sie ihren Segen, aber nicht ihren Bund. Der Bund war immer noch dort. Sie verloren die Segnungen, aber nicht ihren Bund, denn ihr Bund war Gnade, bedingungslos.
E-26 Und in 2. Mose, dem 19. Kapitel machte Israel eines seiner unüberlegtesten Dinge, die es je gemacht hat, als es Gnade ablehnte und Gesetz annahm. Seht, was Gnade getan hatte. Gnade mußte sie mit einem Befreier ausrüsten, mußte ihnen einen Propheten beschaffen, mit einer Feuersäule, um ihn zu bestätigen mit einem bestätigten Wort, welches das Opferlamm war. Gnade hatte ihnen eine große Erweckung gegeben. Gnade brachte sie durch, öffnete das Rote Meer, brachte sie da hindurch; befreite sie mit Zeichen und Wundern, alles durch Gnade.
Aber sie wollten etwas, dass sie sich selbst einige große Namen machen konnten. Nun, wenn das nicht gerade die Menschen heute sind, es ist gerade dieselbe Sache. Sie müssen so sein. Der Mensch muss sich selbst da irgendwo mit hinein verwickeln.
Und da machte Israel seinen großen Fehler, als es Gnade ablehnte und stattdessen Gesetz nahm. Dennoch war der Bund, den Er mit ihnen machte, bedingungslos. Es ist immer noch dieselbe Sache heute, wir erkennen es.
E-27 Abraham dann, nachdem Er ihm diese Bestimmungen gegeben hatte, begann seine Reise, er ging vorwärts. Nun finden wir, dass er auszog. Und im 13. Kapitel kommt er schließlich zu einem Punkt des völligen Gehorsams Gott gegenüber. Jetzt erkennen wir im 13. Kapitel, dass Lot... Zuerst nahm er seinen Vater, und der alte Mann war immer ziemlich im Weg. Und er versuchte, eine Gruppe zu bekommen, die mit ihm dahinziehen würde. Und wenn ihr das tut, da habt ihr es. Gott sagte: „Trenne dich.”
„Nun, ich möchte dir sagen, sie glauben nicht genau, aber... „ Dann gehe davon weg. Das ist die einzige Sache, bleibe einfach davon weg.
Und dann, ganz am Ende, als Abraham alt geworden war, wurde Lot, wie man so sagt, ein Haar in dem Kuchen. Wir sehen, dass er anfing zu murren. Und sie wurden beide reich, und sie hatten ein reiches Auskommen. Und wir stellen fest, dass Lot anfing zu zanken, seine Hirten mit Abrahams Hirten.
E-28 Und wir erkennen, dass Gott keine völlige Gewissenhaftigkeit in Abraham gefunden hat, im Gehorsam zu dem, was Er zu tun gesagt hatte, sich total von seiner ganzen Verwandtschaft zu trennen, von seinem ganzen Volk und Ihm zu dienen. So finden wir, dass Gott hier zu Abraham an dem Altar spricht und ihm sagte, was er tun sollte.
Endlich Lot, als die Frage zwischen Lot und Abraham aufkam; er war der Sohn seines Bruders Haran, er wäre sein Neffe. Und endlich sagte er: „Wir sind jetzt Brüder. Wir wollen keinen Streit zwischen uns haben. Nun, wenn du zum Osten gehst, gehe ich zum Westen. Und wenn du zum Westen gehst, gehe ich zum Osten. Nun, wir trennen uns einfach voneinander, wir möchten nicht... Es ist hier reichlich Platz für uns alle; und gehe du einfach, triff du einfach deine Wahl.” Nun, das war der echte christliche Geist in Abraham, selbst dem Feind den Vorteil der Wahl zu geben. Und so ließ er ihn seinen Weg nehmen.
E-29 Und Lot, wie viele heute, sah die Gelegenheit. Wenn er je von der Genauigkeit loskam, nun, er könnte selbst ein paar Dollar verdienen, er könnte ein populärer Mann sein. So sah er nach Sodom hinunter. Und es war ein gut bewässertes Land, und eine große Stadt. Und vornehm, fleißig, Salz und so weiter. Sie machten dort den Export.
Und dann wiederum, es war voll von großer Zeit, Frauen mit all ihrer Isebelschminke und all dem, einfach eine große Zeit. Seine Frau empfand ebenfalls ein wenig in der Weise, denn wir erkennen, nachdem er dort unten Bürgermeister geworden war, dass sie die Art von Menschen ziemlich liebte. Und das ist das einzige, was ihr tun müßt, euch mit etwas zu vermischen. Seht? Gott möchte, dass ihr euch trennt, und so weit von den Dingen wegkommt, bis ihr sie nicht mehr im Geringsten seht. So dass ihr eine Sache sehen möchtet, das ist Ihn, und was Er verheißen hat.
Aber Frau Lot liebte es sehr. Und zweifellos sagte sie etwas wie: „Liebling, ich war gerade unten, und sieh wie die Frauen sich dort untenkleiden, und sieh dir die Mädchen an. Sieh, wie sich unsere Mädchen kleiden. So meinst du nicht, dass sie moderner sind?” Oh my!
Wenn wir nicht genau zu einem anderen Sodom zurückgekommen sind, ich weiß nicht, warum.
E-30 Dort finden wir es heraus Abraham verblieb mit der Verheißung. Dann stellen wir fest, während es weitergeht, und sie sich voneinander getrennt hatten, nahm Abraham das ärmere Land, unbedeutendes Stück, er blieb oben, wo es nicht sehr viel Gras für sein Vieh gab; aber er war bereit, den Weg einzuschlagen, weil Gott ihn in das Land gesetzt hatte, und da wollte er bleiben. Bereit, es zu nehmen!
Nun, als er Gott schließlich völlig gehorchte, als er endlich Gott gehorchte in der Fülle, sich selbst total zu trennen, dann war es, als der Herr ihm wieder erschien. Bis er das tat, blieb der Herr von Abraham fern. Aber als er völlig gehorsam war, dann erschien Gott ihm, Er sagte, „Abraham, hebe deine Augen auf. Sieh gen Osten, sieh gen Westen, sieh gen Norden, sieh gen Süden, das alles gehört dir.” Amen.
Nun, ich liebe das.
E-31 Und, wißt ihr, das ist etwas wie es war, als ich gerettet wurde. Ich hatte immer über Gott gehört, dass Er der große Gott wäre. Und wißt ihr, als ich gerettet wurde, sagte jemand: „Nun, alles, was du zu tun hast, schließe dich einer Gemeinde an, und setze deinen Namen in dieses Gemeindebuch hier von der Baptistengemeinde. Das ist alles, was du tun mußt.”
Aber wißt ihr, eines Tages sah ich, dass ich Erbe war von etwas, ich wollte es durchsehen und herausfinden, was ich hatte. Wißt ihr, ich bin einfach so. Wie eine große Arkade, ihr besitzt sie, und alles darin gehört euch. Ihr wißt nicht, was ihr besitzt, bis ihr geht und die Bibel durchseht, um die Verheißungen zu entdecken. Amen. Sie wollen euch von ihnen fernhalten, wenn sie können; aber sie gehören euch.
Jede Verheißung ist für Abraham und seinen Samen nach ihm. Amen. Jede göttliche Verheißung in dem Wort gehört Abraham und seinem Samen, und ihr seid Erben davon. Ein Erbe! Oh my! Ich liebe es, durchzusehen und herauszufinden, was ich bekam. Wenn jemand mir etwas gibt, sehe ich es gerne durch. Und ich liebe es, die Bibel durchzusehen und herauszufinden, was mir gehört. Jeder Same Abrahams sollte das tun.
Wenn ihr wiedergeboren werdet, erfüllt mit dem Geist Gottes, und der Heilige Geist auf euch, dann seid ihr ein Erbe von jeder einzelnen dieser Verheißungen.
E-32 Wißt ihr, es ist, wie ich sagte, eine große Arkade, denn wir sind getauft in diese Arkade hinein. Durch einen Geist sind wir alle in einen Leib hineingetauft, und dieser Leib ist Christus, welcher der Königliche Same Abrahams ist und sind Erben von allem, was darin ist. Amen.
Alles, was in Gott war, schüttete Gott in Christus hinein; alles, was in Christus war, schüttete Er in die Gläubigen hinein. Amen. Gott über uns, Gott mit uns und Gott in uns! Alles, jede Verheißung in dem Buch ist euer, wenn ihr es glauben könnt, wenn ihr Glauben genug habt, um es anzunehmen und es zu glauben.
E-33 Wißt ihr, ich sehe mich um, wenn ich etwas finde, das ein bißchen zu hoch ist, und ich mich frage, was darin ist, dann nehme ich mir eine Leiter und schiebe es herum und kletter immer weiter bis ich drankomme. So ist es mit einer Verheißung in der Bibel. Wenn irgendetwas aussieht, als wäre es ein wenig geheimnisvoll für mich, dann halte ich einfach an am Gebet, bis ich es erreiche. Das ist alles. Das ist der Weg, es zu tun. Haltet an mit Beten, harrt aus, klettert weiter, glaubt weiter, bis ihr... Ihr seid Erben davon, ihr bekamt eine Verheißung dafür, und ihr bekamt ein Recht darauf, und „Bittet, und ihr werdet empfangen, denn alle Dinge sind möglich dem, der da glaubt.”
Nun finden wir, dass Abraham durch das Land ging. Gott sagte ihm: „Gehe durch das Land, überschaue es. Alles darin gehört dir. Jedes bißchen davon ist deins. Es gehört dir.”
E-34 Nun, wir stellen dann fest, in dem 14. Kapitel von 1. Mose, Abraham und Lot hatten sich getrennt, und Lot kam schließlich in irgendwelche Schwierigkeiten. Und das werdet ihr immer tun, wenn ihr euch selbst von Gläubigen trennt, ihr werdet in Schwierigkeiten kommen.
Wir stellen fest, dass die Könige sich verbündeten, und sie machten Krieg. Und sie kamen herunter, und sie nahmen Sodom ein, sie nahmen Gomorra ein, und sie nahmen alle ihre Könige aus den Tälern und alles und ergriffen Lot. Und eben wenige Leute entkamen in die Berge. Und als sie es taten, kam einer, der entronnen war, und sagte zu Abraham, dem Hebräer, dass „Sodom gefallen ist und Gomorra, und sie haben ihre Könige gefangen und so weiter, und nahmen alle Menschen gefangen und ihre ganzen Lebensmittel und alles, was sie hatten. Und sie nahmen Lot und seine Frau und Töchter, all die Frauen gefangen und sind damit weitergegangen.”
E-35 Nun Abraham... Nun, habt acht auf diesen christlichen Geist, seinem Bruder nachzujagen. Selbst obwohl Lot zurückgefallen war, zurückgegangen war, dennoch liebte Abraham ihn. Er jagte ihm nach. Gerade wie Jesus, in dem laodizäischen Gemeindezeitalter. Doch sie stoßen Ihn aus ihrer Gemeinde hinaus. Und Er war draußen und klopfte und versuchte, wieder hineinzukommen. Wenn Er nur jemanden bekommen könnte, der eine Tür öffnet, so dass Er hineinkommen könnte! Da ist der Geist Abrahams, seht, seinem gefallenen heruntergekommenen Bruder nachzujagen.
Und er jagte ihm nach, und er nahm seine 300 Diener und bewaffnete sie. Und er traf auf ihn unten in Dan; das ist das äußerste Ende von Palästina dort. Und er traf dort auf ihn, und er teilte sich in der Nacht und verfolgte die Armeen und schlug sie nieder und überwältigte die Könige und metzelte sie nieder und brachte alles zurück, was weggenommen war.
E-36 Bemerkt, als er zurückkam, welch ein herrliches Bild hier. Das ist der Grund, weshalb ich dieses ein wenig als Vorschau nehmen möchte, bevor ich zu meinem Text von Jehova Jireh komme. Wenn ihr bemerkt, wie Abraham alles, was verloren gewesen war zurückbrachte, seinen eigensinnigen Bruder und die Kinder; als er sie zurückbrachte, kamen die Könige hinaus, um ihm zu begegnen. Und Melchisedek kam heraus, „welches der König von Salem war, König des Friedens, der König der Gerechtigkeit, der König von Jerusalem; ohne Vater, ohne Mutter, ohne Anfang der Tage, ohne Ende des Lebens.” Melchisedek begegnete ihm als er von der Schlacht des Königs zurückkam…
Der Patriarch Abraham (Hebräer 7) begegnete diesem Mann und zahlte den zehnten Teil, den Zehnten. Welch ein großer Mann dieser gewesen sein muss! Was denkt ihr, wer es war? „Er hatte keinen Vater. Er hatte keine Mutter. Er hatte keinen Anfang.” Und wer immer Er ist, Er ist immer noch lebendig. „Er hatte kein Ende. Der König von Salem, König des Friedens!” Oh, wer war dieser große Mann?
E-37 Und bemerkt, welch einen Typ wir hier haben. Nachdem der Kampf vorüber ist, nachdem der echte Gläubige den Feind bekämpft hat, die Grenzlinien niedergerissen hat und versucht hat, seinen Bruder zu erobern, der echte Same Abrahams bringt seinen eigensinnigen Bruder zurück, dann kam Melchisedek heraus und reichte Wein und Brot, Abendmahl, gab Abendmahl nachdem der Kampf vorüber war, reichte ihm das Abendmahl nach dem Kampf.
Ein sehr schöner Typ darauf, wenn der Kampf hier auf Erden vorüber ist, die Siege gewonnen worden sind. Jesus sagte, „Sie würden es erneut essen in des Vaters Königreich”, nachdem der Widerspenstige zurückgebracht worden ist. Dann ist die erste Sache, die wir tun, wenn wir eingehen, nachdem der Kampf vorüber ist, wir setzen uns an den Tisch in dem Königreich Gottes. Und dort werden die, die gekämpft haben und sich gesetzt haben und überwunden haben, gekleidet werden in der Gerechtigkeit Christi, und dann werden sie wieder Brot und Wein nehmen in des Vaters Königreich auf der anderen Seite. Welch ein echtes Bild dieses von Abraham ist, der ausging, um Lot zu bekommen und ihn zurückzubringen.
E-38 Nun, wir finden dann im 15. Kapitel etwas ganz Hervorstechendes. Ich liebe das so sehr zu sehen, wer Abraham jetzt war, und Abraham und sein Same nach ihm. Wir finden Abraham hier, nachdem er all diese großen Dinge getan hatte; Gott zu glauben, an der Verheißung festzuhalten, sich selbst zu trennen und die ganze Zeit dem Weg nachzufolgen, die Gebote des Herrn zu erfüllen; wir sehen, dass Gott ihm an dem Altar erschien. Und Abraham stellte Ihm die Frage, er sagte: „Nun, wer ist mein Erbe als dieser Elieser von Damaskus? Und nun hast Du mir einen Samen verheißen. Und ich möchte, dass Du etwas tust; ich möchte, dass Du mir diese Verheißung bestätigst.”
E-39 Und Gott sagte, dass Er es Abraham bestätigen würde, den Bund bestätigen würde, den Er zwischen Ihm und Abraham gemacht hatte. Jetzt wird Er ihm ein Zeichen geben, dass es wahr werden wird. Doch, obwohl er alt ist, er ist ungefähr 85 Jahre jetzt, aber dennoch wird Er ihm durch ein Zeichen bestätigen, dass Er diesen Bund einhalten wird.
Oh, ich bin so froh, dass Gott uns immer Zeichen gibt, weil Er... . Wir sollten heute wissen, dass die Stunde, in der wir jetzt leben, es sollte ein Zeichen auf der Erde zu dieser Zeit sein. Wir sollen nach diesem Zeichen Ausschau halten. Gott tut niemals irgend etwas, ohne den Menschen zuerst ein Zeichen und eine Warnung zu geben und auf ein echtes Zeichen folgt eine Stimme, und die Stimme ist immer eine schriftgemäße Stimme.
E-40 Nun, Er ist dabei, den Bund Abraham zu bestätigen, aber noch Abram. Und er sagte: „Nimm dir eine junge Kuh.” Nun, denkt daran, es ist ein weibliches Kalb. „Und nimm eine weibliche Ziege von 3 Jahren.” Jedes muss 3 Jahre alt sein. Bemerkt, eine 3 Jahre alte weibliche Kuh, eine dreijährige weibliche Ziege. „Und einen Widder”, männlich. Alle drei 3 Jahre alt, und es sind die Drei. Zwei „Sie's” und ein „Er”. Seht? Dreijährig, sauberes Opfer, ein Lamm... eine junge Kuh, eine dreijährige weibliche Ziege und dann einen Widder.
E-41 Wenn ihr bemerkt, alles dort setzt sich zu einem Zeichen zusammen.
Und jetzt sollte ich keine Lehre von diesem Podium hier predigen, und ich bin sicher, dass es nahe genug dran ist, dass ihr sehen könnt.
Bemerkt. Und nahm zwei Vögel. „Einer eine Taube und einer eine Turteltaube”, welche dieselbe Familie sind, die Taube und die Turteltaube. Nun, er schnitt die Ziege... das Schaf in zwei. Er schnitt den Widder und die Ziege und die anderen in zwei Stücke. Er teilte sie, schnitt sie in Hälften und legte sie nieder. Aber die Taube und die Turteltaube teilte er nicht. Das war… Sicher jeder, der die Schrift kennt, weiß, das ist Göttliche Heilung. Seht, es ist in beiden Bündnissen. Und so finden wir, dass er sie hineinlegte.
Heilung ist immer durch Glauben in das vergossene Blut, immer. Und der alte Bund hatte Göttliche Heilung, wieviel mehr hat es der Neue Bund? Seht? Wenn der alte Bund es hervorbrachte, was ist mit dem Neuen, wenn „es ein viel besserer Bund ist, spricht von besseren, höheren Dingen, größeren Dingen, besseren Dingen” ? Der Neue Bund!
E-42 Nun, wir erkennen in diesem, dass Abraham, als er dieses tat, bemerkt dann, was geschah. Nun, hier ist ein großer hervorragender Kernpunkt. Ich möchte, dass ihr das nicht verpaßt. Die Bestätigung des Bundes, in anderen Worten, es ist eine Verheißung, dass „Ich treu zu dem bein, was ich tue, oder was Ich sage, was Ich tun werde”, Gott bestätigt es dem Abraham. Und er nahm jene Opfer und schlachtete sie und legte einen Teil dem anderen gegenüber und paßte auf die Vögel auf, so dass die Vögel nicht herabkommen würden auf das frische Fleisch bis die Sonne unterging am Abend.
E-43 Und während die Sonne unterging, hier zeigte Er Abraham, was Er in der Zukunft tun würde, was geschehen würde. Bemerkt, Er sagte es Abraham. Die erste Sache, die er sah, war ein echter Schrecken von Finsternis, der über ihn kam. Zuerst überfiel ihn ein echter tiefer Schlaf. Nun, dieser Schlaf repräsentierte Tod für alle menschliche Wesen. Jeder Mensch muss sterben; Tod für alle menschlichen Wesen. Dieser Schlaf kam auf ihn; und dem voran ging ein wirklicher Schrecken von Schwärze; und dann kam ein Feuerofen; und dann ging ein kleines brennendes Licht zwischen den Bund, ging zwischen den Opfern durch, trennte es.
Nun, was bedeutet das? Es bedeutet, dass jedes menschliche Wesen sterben muss; und wirklich, danach verdient es, zur Hölle zu gehen; das stimmt, in Finsternis, in äußerste Finsternis, getrennt von Gott; aber das Licht kam hinein und ging zwischendurch, und trennte diese Opfer. Wenn ihr begreift, wir... Dieser Bund!
E-44 Wie wir Amerikaner, wie machen wir einen Bund? Nun, die erste Sache, die wir tun, sagen wir, wir werden irgendeinen Geschäftshandel oder so etwas machen, dann gehen wir gewöhnlich essen; wir setzen uns, reden eine Zeitlang, und dann geben wir unsere Angebote; und dann schütteln wir einer dem anderen die Hand. Wir sagen: „Handschlag drauf!” Das ist unser Bund. Das ist unser Versprechen.
Nun, in Japan, wißt ihr, wie sie einen Bund in Japan machen? Sie haben auch etwas zu essen; dann nehmen sie ein kleines Salztöpfchen, und sie werfen Salz einer auf den anderen. Das ist die Bekräftigung des Bundes. Wir schütteln die Hände, sagen: „Es ist besiegelt, alter Junge. Ich glaube es. Ich werde mit dir stehen. Es ist ein Versprechen.” In Japan werfen sie Salz aufeinander. „Es ist besiegelt, Kamerad. Das ist der Schluß davon. Das ist dann der Schluß von jedem Streit. Sie machten den Bund, bestätigten es, indem sie Salz aufeinander warfen.
E-45 Aber in den alten Zeiten. Kann ich eines hiervon haben? [Bruder Branham nimmt ein Stück Papier.] In den alten Zeiten, hier ist die Weise, wie sie einen Bund machten. Wir machten einen Vertrag, und wir nahmen den Vertrag und schrieben es so aus. Und dann töteten wir ein Tier, ein Opfer; teilten es, legten es aus so wie es zur Zeit Abrahams war. Und dann standen wir zwischen diesem Bund, du und ich, und wir machten Gott ein Gelübde. „Wenn wir versäumen, diesen Bund zu halten, mögen wir wie dieses tote Opfer sein, das an unserer Stelle starb. Laß das Blut dieses Opfers auf uns antworten. Mögen wir denselben Tod sterben, wenn wir versäumen, diesen Bund zu halten.” Dann ist es alles auf einem Schriftstück wie diesem aufgeschrieben. Dann wird es so in zwei Hälften gerissen. Jetzt nimmst du eine Hälfte, und ich nehme eine Hälfte.
Und nun, seht, ihr könnt es nicht im Geringsten verdoppeln, besonders, wenn es auf eine Schafshaut geschrieben ist. Seht, ihr könnt nicht im Geringsten eine entsprechende Zweitschrift machen. Dieses muss genau mit dem zusammenpassen, damit es so wird. Und wenn wir zusammenkommen, trage ich einen Teil, du trägst den anderen Teil. Und dann, wenn wir zusammenkommen und dieser Bund gemacht werden muss, oder unser Gelübde bezahlt werden muss, dann muss mein Stück Papier genau mit deinem Stück Papier zusammenpassen, und deshalb bist du derjenige, der mit mir in diesem Bund ist.
E-46 Was Gott dort zeigte, tat Er, dass Gott Selbst herunterkam, um Fleisch zu werden, und Er würde in dem Bund sein. Und Gott nahm Christus, der Geist; Gott Jehova nahm Christus auf das Kreuz, und Er zerriß Ihn in zwei. Er trennte Seine Seele heraus und setzte sie in die Höhe und nahm den Leib und legte ihn in das Grab. Und Er hob den Leib empor am Morgen der Auferstehung; und sandte den Geist, der auf Ihm war, zurück, damit er auf der Gemeinde sei. Dass dieselbe Bestätigung in diesen letzten Tagen, „Jesus Christus Derselbe gestern, heute und für immer”, mit demselben Bund in dem Menschen sein müßte.
Wie werdet ihr es durch Schulung erlangen? Wie werdet ihr es auf irgendeine andere Weise bekommen außer durch die Bestätigung des lebendigen auferstandenen Jesus Christus, der von den Toten auferweckt worden ist und in der Majestät in der Höhe heute Abend sitzt? Derselbe Geist, der auf Ihm war, ist auf Abrahams Königlichem Samen in den letzten Tagen und bestätigt und beweist, dass Er Derselbe ist gestern, heute und für immer. Amen. Es bewirkt, dass ihr euch religiös fühlt, nicht wahr?
Da ist Er, in dem tatsächlichen Bund, gerade durch den Bund auf ihren Herzen. Jesus sagte: „Die Dinge, die ICH tue, werdet ihr auch tun.”
E-47 Während wie hier in ein paar Minuten nach Sodom hinaufkommen, habt acht, wie es ist, wie es dort stattfindet, genau wie die Verheißung für die letzte Zeit ist, und was Er tun würde. Er bestätigte es, zeigte, dass Er... Er zerriß den Leib Jesu, nahm den Geist, erhob den Leib zur rechten Hand des Thrones Gottes und sandte den anderen Teil hinunter, den Teil, den Er ausriß, den Geist, auf uns, welcher der Heilige Geist genannt wird. Und genau dasselbe Leben, das in Christus war, ist in euch, das zeigt, Er ist euer Erlöser. Er hat euch zu Gott adoptiert, und jetzt sind wir Söhne und Töchter Gottes, mit dem Geist Christi. Amen. „Die Werke, die Ich tue, werdet ihr auch tun. Größere als diese werdet ihr tun, denn Ich gehe zu Meinem Vater.” Amen.
E-48 Der Geist, der in Ihm war, ist in euch, Ewiges Leben. Er ist der Geber des Ewigen Lebens. Er ist ein Erlöser, um das zurückzubringen, was in dem Sündenfall in der menschlichen Rasse gefallen war, um es zu Gott zurückzubringen. Und der Geist, der in Christus war, ist in euch. Und wenn der Geist von einem Dillon in mir wäre, dann hätte ich Gewehre. Wenn der Geist eines Kunstmalers in mir wäre, würde ich Bilder malen. Wenn der Geist Christi in euch ist, dann werdet ihr die Werke Christi tun. Amen. Das stimmt.
Das Leben, das in Ihm war, ist in euch.
E-49 Übertragt das Leben von irgendetwas auf ein anderes Ding. Wenn ihr das Leben von einem Kürbis nehmen könntet und es in eine Wassermelone legt, dann würde sie Kürbisse tragen, genau. Wenn ihr das Leben aus einem Pfirsichbaum nehmt und es in einen Birnbaum legt, wird er Pfirsiche tragen, weil das Leben, das in dem Baum ist, den Beweis davon geben wird. Und da ist es, wie der Königliche Same; durch Isaak kam der natürliche Same, der verwarf Es. In dem Kreuz, von Ephraim zu Manasse wurde es übertragen, die Segnungen von der rechten Hand zu der linken Hand; oder die linke Hand gehörte zu der Linken, der Jüngste zu dem Ältesten; da hindurch wendete sich die ganze Situation von dem natürlichen Samen Isaaks, welcher Christus verwarf, und die natürliche Gemeinde heute, die Ihn immer noch ablehnt.
E-50 Aber der geistliche Königliche Same Gottes, der glaubt, der Königliche Same Abrahams, der jedes Wort Gottes glaubt, da ist eine Bestätigung eines lebendigen auferstandenen Jesus Christus in ihnen. Amen. Amen. Oh my!
Seht, dieselbe Sache, die gewesen war, die ganze Gemeinde muss verwandt sein. Wie es im natürlichen Samen versinnbildlicht wurde, seht, Isaak und Rebekka waren direkt blutsverwandt, Vetter (Kusine), dieselben Vorväter; seht, die Väter waren Brüder, das machte sie zu Blutskusinen (Vettern), die Braut und der Bräutigam. Und in Adam und Eva war es alles Adam von Anfang an. Gott nahm eine Rippe von seiner Seite und machte eine Frau, und Er nahm den weiblichen Geist aus Adam heraus und legte ihn in eine Frau.
E-51 Wenn eine Frau also männlich handelt, dann ist da eine Verdrehung irgendwo. Und wenn ein Mann eine große ‚Sissy' sein möchte, dann ist irgendwo etwas verkehrt. Gott schuf einen Mann und kleidete ihn wie einen Mann, und eine Frau wie eine Frau. Er möchte, dass sie immer so bleiben. Amen. Wenn ihr sie etwas anderes tun seht, dann ist da etwas verkehrt. Es ist verdreht. Und die ganze Sache ist ein Haufen von Verdrehtheit geworden. Das stimmt genau. Die ganze Rasse, die ganze Generation, „die ganze Sache ist eine verfaulte Wunde,” wie die Bibel sagt. Es gibt kaum mehr irgendwo Gesundes. Ihr wißt, dass es die Wahrheit ist.
Ihr könnt kaum draußen... Aber geht hinaus auf die Straße, es ist schwer, einen wirklichen Mann zu finden; ‚Sissys', wie ich nie gesehen habe. Und Frauen tragen Hosen, schneiden ihre Haare, tragen Lippenstift, rauchen Zigaretten, versuchen, ein Mann zu sein. Weshalb wollt ihr ein Mann sein? Ihr solltet eine Dame sein.
In einer Bar habe ich ein Zeichen gesehen, es hieß: „Tische für Damen”. Ich sagte: „Ihr hattet nie eine Kundin.” Eine Dame wird nicht zu solch einem Ort gehen. Nein, Herr. Nein, eine Dame wird es nicht tun. Eine Frau könnte es, aber keine Dame. Sie würde nicht an solch einen Ort gehen. Aber da habt ihr es, seht.
E-52 Gott trennte, schnitt ab. Seht, der Leib, die Braut Christi muss gerade zurückkommen zum Anfang. Nun, Eva war... Was war Eva? Sie und Adam war dasselbe. Sie wurden Adam gerufen. Sie waren Geist. Als Er den Menschen formte, das erste Mal, machte Er ihn in Seinem eigenen Bild. Und Gott ist ein Geist. „Im Bilde Gottes schuf Er ihn, männlich und weiblich schuf Er sie.”
Und dann war da immer noch kein Mensch, um die Erde zu bebauen. Dann formte Gott den Menschen aus dem Staub der Erde und legte diesen doppelten Geist in ihn hinein, und das war der erste Adam.
E-53 Dann, als Er Eva von Adam trennte, fiel Eva dadurch, dass sie das Wort nicht glaubte. Das stimmt.
Dort ist es, wo die Gemeinde heute versagt hat, im Unglauben des Wortes! Aber in diesem Fall, zu dem Königlichen Samen, berufen, vorherbestimmt zum Ewigen Leben, der Königliche Same Abrahams, sie glauben dieses Wort. Es macht mir nichts aus, was kommt oder geht, wieviel sie lachen, wer dieses sagt, jenes oder das andere; sie sind zum Ewigen Leben bestimmt, und sie gehen geradewegs zurück. Sie und ihr Liebhaber, Christus, sind eins.
Das Leben, der Geist, der in Christus ist, ist in der Gemeinde. Das ist der Ewige Bund hier. Seht? Gott nahm den Geist von Christus, trennte ihn von dem Opfer auf Golgatha; und nahm diesen Geist, erhob den Leib und setzte ihn zur rechten Hand des Thrones Gottes und der Majestät in der Höhe. Das ist es; alles im Himmel wird durch Ihn kontrolliert. Und dann kam der Geist, der auf Ihm war; derselbe Geist, kein anderer Geist, derselbe Geist, der auf Ihn kam, kam zurück, um den Bund dem Königlichen Samen zu bestätigen.
E-54 Und in den letzten Tagen sollten wir es sehen, gemäß der Schrift.
Und bevor die Braut Christi je hinaufgenommen werden kann, da muss ein Dienst da sein, der genau dazu paßt. Amen. Ich bin so froh, dass ich heute Abend sagen kann, dass ich weiß, dass es die Wahrheit ist. Passend, den Bund bestätigend! Er bestätigte es dort, zeigte ihm, was Er tun wird, den Bund bestätigend. Jeder Bibelgelehrte weiß, dass es das war, als Er den Bund Abraham gegenüber bestätigte.
Was tat Er? Er zeigte in einem Bild, was Er mit diesen Opfern tun wird. Und jetzt wird es spät, und ich werde keine Zeit haben, diese Opfer zu teilen. Vielleicht werde ich das morgen Abend tun müssen; aber bemerkt, es zeigt, was diese Opfer bedeuteten. Aber seht, Er bestätigte es, Er zeigte, dass in den letzten Tagen...
E-55 Nun, jeder, der je altertümliche Geschichte gelesen hat, weiß, dass das die Weise ist, wie sie einen Bund machten. Sie schrieben es, dann rissen sie es auseinander und händigten es aus; einer nahm ein Stück und eines der andere. Sie mußten über einem Opfer zurückkommen, mußten ihr Opfer bringen. Das ist es, was Abraham unten in Gerar tat und so weiter, als er dorthin ging, wo sie ihre Opfer darbrachten und ihre Abkommen machten und es auf diese Weise zerrissen. Und Gott tat dieselbe Sache, Er zeigte dort, was Er für ihn tun würde...
E-56 Die Frage war: „Wo ist der Same, den Du mir verheißen hast? Wo? Wie werde ich es sein? Die Leute lachen über mich, sie sagen, ‚Abraham, Vater der Nationen, es ist schon 15 Jahre her. Jetzt bist du 85 Jahre alt oder 90. Wo-, wo-, wo sind alle deine Kinder? Wieviele Kinder hast du jetzt, Vater der Nationen?'” Seht, sie machten Spaß über ihn.
Aber er schwankte nicht, er blieb genau dabei stehen. Machten Spaß, sie sagten: „Vater der Nationen, laß uns jetzt sehen, wieviele Kinder du jetzt hast?” Sieh, sie wollten sich über ihn lustig machen, weil er sich zu Gottes Verheißungen hielt, indem er glaubte, dass Er imstande ist zu halten, was Er verheißen hat. Er ist mehr als imstande... Er kann Sein eigenes Opfer beschaffen. Er ist Jehova Jireh. Er kann bereitstellen und einen Weg machen für das, was Er verheißen hat. Und Er bestätigte ihm den Bund, indem Er ihm zeigte, wie Er es tun wird, indem Er Christus nimmt und das Leben von Ihm reißt und es hinuntersendet in den letzten Tagen auf...
E-57 Nun, wir werden das in der Schrift diese Woche zu Ende bringen, um euch das zu zeigen, dass dieser Bund mit dem Königlichen Samen Abrahams bestätigt werden muss, welches die Menschen aus den Heiden sind, nicht Juden, „ein Volk aus den Heiden um Seines Namens willen”, es wird für Seinen Namen genommen. Die Gemeinde, die Seinen Namen bekommen hat, wird in Ihn zurückkommen, denn das ist es, wer Sie ist, ihr Leben.
E-58 Hört, als am Pfingsttag, als der Heilige Geist am Pfingsttag fiel, wurde der Gemeinde das Leben gegeben. Und diese Gemeinde ging geradewegs hinaus und wirkte, sie schrieben nach dieser Gemeinde ein Buch von Handlungen von dem, was Sie tat, denn es war Christus in den Aposteln.
Nun, Jesus sagte in Johannes 15: „Ich bin der Weinstock, ihr seid die Reben.” Nun, der Weinstock trägt keine Frucht. Die Rebe trägt die Frucht. Sie bekommt ihre Energie von dem Weinstock. Nun gut, wenn jener Ast, der erste, der aus jenem Baum hervorkam, eine Apostelgeschichte hervorbrachte; wenn er je einen anderen Ast hervorbringt, dann wird es dasselbe Leben sein.
E-59 Vor einigen Monaten stand ich mit meinem guten Freund Johannes Sharrit oben in Phoenix. Ich lebte in Tucson, wie ihr wißt. Und so war ich oben in Phoenix mit Bruder Johannes Sharrit, einem sehr feinen christlichen Bruder. Und er war sehr, sehr arm, und der Herr hat ihn gesegnet.
Und als ich zuerst nach Phoenix ging, vor Jahren, hatte er keine Kinder. Und er wünschte sich Kinder. Und sie waren arm, arbeiteten draußen auf der Straße, sprengten Beton für ungefähr fünfundzwanzig, dreißig Cents die Stunde. Und er kam dort hinunter, und er glaubte jedes Wort von der Botschaft. Und er sagte: „Wirst Du für mich beten?” Er hat jetzt fünf Kinder.
E-60 Und noch darüber hinaus gibt er ungefähr drei bis vier Millionen Dollar jedes Jahr für den Zweck Christi. Und das stimmt.
Ich war hier mit ihm vor nicht langer Zeit und überschaute seine Baumwollfarm. Er kaufte eine ganze Landschaft, hatte fünfzehnhundert Mexikaner, die es versorgen. Und vor 15 Jahren sprengte er Beton für 25 Cent die Stunde.
Und er nahm mich hinaus in seinen großen Zitrushain. Und dort habe ich den lustigsten Baum in meinem Leben gesehen. Es war irgendeine Baumart, und er hatte alle möglichen Sorten Früchte drauf. Und ich schaute, und er hatte Orangen, Pampelmusen, Zitronen, Mandarinen und Tangelos. Ich glaube, er hatte ungefähr neun verschiedenartige Früchte drauf, oder zehn. Und ich sagte: „Welche Art von einem Baum ist das?”
„Oh”, sagte er, „das ist nur ein kleines Experiment, Bruder Branham.”
Und ich sagte: „Oh, ich verstehe.” Und ich sagte: „Leben sie alle von dem einen Baum?” Ich sagte: „Welche Art von Baum ist es ursprünglich?”
Er sagte: „Es ist ein Orangenbaum. Es ist eine Navelorange.”
Und ich sagte: „Ist er das?” Ich sagte: „Was machen diese anderen Burschen darauf?”
Und er sagte: „Sie sind in ihn hineingepfropft.”
Und ich sagte: „Oh, ich verstehe.” Ich sagte: „Ich begreife es.” Ich sagte: „Nun, nächstes Jahr wird alles wieder zur Orange, nicht wahr?”
Und er sagte: „Oh, nein.” Er sagte: „Nein, die Zitrone wird eine Zitrone hervorbringen;... und die Pampelmuse wird eine Pampelmuse hervorbringen, und die Mandarine wird eine Mandarine hervorbringen.”
Ich sagte: „Aus einem Orangenbaum heraus?”
Und er sagte: „Jawohl.”
Ich sagte: „Ich verstehe nicht, wie er das machen kann.”
Er sagte: „Es sind alles Zitrusfrüchte.”
Ich sagte: „Gut, Preis dem Herrn, ich sehe etwas.”
E-61 Seht! Oh Bruder, wenn der Heilige Geist in jenen Weinstock hinaufgekommen ist und aus seinem Weinstock den ersten Zweig hervorgebracht hat, und sie haben danach eine Apostelgeschichte geschrieben. Wenn dieser Baum je einen anderen originalen Ast hervorbringen wird, wird er zu derselben Sache werden. Es wird Jesus Christus sein.
Nun, wir haben Methodisten, Presbyterianer, Baptisten, Lutheraner, alles mögliche, die da hineingepfropft worden sind, die denominationelle Frucht tragen; aber wenn er je einen weiteren Zweig hervorbringen wird, wird es ein echtes christuserfülltes, auf Christus konzentriertes Wort Gottes sein.
E-62 Und denkt, ihr erinnert euch an die Brautbaum-Botschaft. Viele von euch nehmen das Tonband. Wie der Landwirt kam, und es trug die falsche Art Frucht, so schnitt er es ab, schnitt es ab, schnitt es immer wieder zurück, schnitt zurück. Aber Joel sagte: „Was die Raupen lassen, hat das Geschmeiß gefressen; was das Geschmeiß gelassen hat, hat etwas anderes gefressen.” Wir erkennen, diese Insekten sind dieselben Insekten, nur in einem unterschiedlichen Stadium.
Und was die Lutheraner übriggelassen haben, haben die Methodisten gegessen; was die Methodisten zurückgelassen haben, haben die Baptisten gegessen; was die Baptisten übriggelassen haben, haben die Pfingstler gegessen. Die ganze Sache ist heruntergeschnitten.
E-63 Aber Gott sagte: „Ich werde wiedererstatten, spricht der Herr, all die Jahre. Ich werde in den letzten Tagen eine andere Gemeinde zurücksenden. Ich werde diese originale Kraft wiedererstatten. In der Abendzeit wird es Licht sein.”
Tief in dem Herzen dieses Baumes, ungeachtet dessen, wieviele Äste zurechtgestutzt sind, dort wird der Königliche Same Abrahams hervorkommen! Halleluja! Gott hat es verheißen. Gott wird es tun. Er sagte, Er würde es tun. „Ich werde all die Jahre wiedererstatten, die die Denominationen gegessen haben. Ich werde all die Jahre wiedererstatten. Ich habe die Sache weggeschnitten, und doch wird dort eine Rebe aus seinem Herzen herauskommen. Er wird sein wie ein Baum, der an Wasserbächen gepflanzt ist, ein Mann, der Tag und Nacht in dem Wort Gottes nachsinnt”, nicht ein Glaubensbekenntnis oder eine Denomination, sondern sinnt in dem Wort nach Tag und Nacht. Er ist wie ein Baum, der an Wasserbächen gepflanzt ist, seine Zweige werden nicht vertrocknen. Er wird seine Frucht zur rechten Zeit bringen.
Gott hat es verheißen.
E-64 Gott riß los, oh ja, schlug auseinander, trennte Sich Selbst, zerteilte Sich Selbst. Er tat dieselbe Sache am Tage zu Pfingsten, als der Heilige Geist herniederkam. Die Feuersäule kam hernieder, die Israel folgte. Wir alle wissen, das war der Logos, das war Christus. Und als es herunterkam am Tage zu Pfingsten, was tat Es? Es zerteilte Sich selbst, Feuerzungen setzten sich auf jeden einzelnen von ihnen. Gott zerteilte Sich Selbst unter die Menschen.
Oh, Bruder, du kannst nicht ungeteilt sein, mit demselben Geist, der in Christus war. „Er, der an Mich glaubt, wird die Werke, die Ich tue, auch tun. Größere als diese, oder mehr als diese”, die richtige Übersetzung, „denn Ich gehe zum Vater. Doch eine kleine Weile, und die Welt sieht Mich nicht mehr, ihr aber sollt Mich sehen, denn Ich”, persönliches Fürwort, „Ich werde mit euch sein, selbst in euch, zu der Endzeit, dem Ende.” Er versprach, es zu tun. Der Same Abrahams.
Er ist jetzt hier. Er ist...
E-65 Wir haben hier vor einigen Tagen Seine Auferstehung gefeiert, dass Gott Ihn auferweckt hat. Wir bezeugen es. Wir singen es. Und Er könnte erscheinen und etwas tun, wie Er es vor Seiner Auferstehung getan hat.
Wir würden es bezeichnen als „Wahrsager, ein Teufel, Beelzebub,” schließen es aus der Gemeinde aus. Weshalb tun wir es? Es muss die Schrift erfüllen, dass das Wort, welches Christus ist, in dem laodizäischen Zeitalter nach draußen gesetzt wurde, und Er klopft an die Tür und versucht, eine Zusammenarbeit von irgendwo zu bekommen, um hineinzukommen und Sich selbst bekanntzu-machen.
E-66 Aber dort wird ein Zweig daraus hervorkommen, so gewiß wie nur etwas! Ich sagte zu Bruder Sharrit: „Welche Art von Zweig wird es nächstes Jahr hervorbringen? Wird es eine Orange sein? Wird es eine Zitrone sein? Wird... „
„Ja, es wird das Original sein”, sagte er. „Wenn es einen Zweig aus sich selbst hervorbringen wird, dann wird es eine Orange sein, genau, wie es am Anfang war.”
Und wenn der wirkliche lebendige Same Abrahams hervorkommt, dann wird derselbe Geist, der in Christus war, unter ihnen leben; jedes Wort wird mit einem „Amen” unterstrichen. Sie glauben es. Nicht: „Dieses ist inspiriert, und jenes ist nicht inspiriert.” Sie glauben die ganze Sache, weil es das Wort Gottes ist.
E-67 Glaubt ihr es heute Abend von ganzem Herzen? Ich glaube es. Ich habe jetzt hier gepredigt; es dauerte lange. Laßt uns unsere Häupter eben einen Augenblick neigen. Und ich werde dieses morgen Abend zu Ende bringen. Ich versprach, dass ich euch nicht so lange halten wollte. Jesus Christus Derselbe gestern, heute, und bestätigt. Es erledigte sich mit Abraham, als er es durch Glauben sah; er ging gerade weiter, schwankte nicht im Unglauben. Er schwankte nicht. Nun, was ist mit Seinem Königlichen Samen, wir, die wir in Anspruch nehmen, wir Christen dieses Tages, die behaupten, denselben Kelch zu küssen, aus dem Er trank, denselben Geist in uns zu haben und Ihn zu sehen, wie Er Seine Verheißung bestätigt, dass Er hier mit uns ist?
E-68 Die Verheißung, dass sie sich erfüllt…
Es ist in allen Zeitaltern nie so gewesen. Wir haben es niemals zuvor gehabt. Durchforscht die Geschichte. Niemals ist es aufgetreten. Und wohin ging Es, sollte es gehen in den letzten Tagen? Zu der auserwählten Gemeinde. Nicht zu Babylon, nicht zu Sodom; Sie hatten einen Botschafter dort unten. Aber der Heilige Geist ist der Botschafter zu der auserwählten Gemeinde; heute Abend,
Nun, Gott, wohnend im menschlichen Fleisch, Sich Selbst zeigend, der Unterscheider, das Wort, das die Gedanken und Regungen des Herzens unterscheidet. „Jesus Christus Derselbe gestern, heute und für immer.” Er ist Jehova Jireh. Er hat schon unser Opfer versehen und bestätigt Seinen Bund. Er hält Seinen Bund in den letzten Tagen mit den Menschen ein.
E-69 Freunde, wir könnten hier die ganze Nacht sprechen. Dinge, die gesagt wurden, es ist genug gesagt worden.
Es sind Menschen hier, die krank sind; ihr braucht Heilung. Warum glaubt ihr das nicht? Wenn ich euch heilen könnte, würde ich es tun. Seid im Gebet. Wenn ich euch heilen könnte, würde ich es tun. Ich kann euch nicht heilen. Ich bin... Ihr bemerkt, ich gebe den Dienst, den ersten Abend oder zwei, hier, im Gebet für die Kranken. Und das ist nicht nur dafür. Wenn hier irgendein Same ist, der zum Leben vorherbestimmt ist, der Heilige Geist wird ihn ergreifen. Sie werden es wissen. Jetzt ist Er...
Wieviele hier drinnen würden ihre Hände vor Gott erheben und sagen: „Ich glaube es von ganzem Herzen, dass Jesus Christus Derselbe ist gestern, heute und für immer; dass Er von den Toten auferstanden ist, und Er ist heute lebendig unter uns, Sich Selbst zeigend, dass Er unter uns ist, und ich glaube, dass es von Gott ist”? Würdet ihr eure Hände erheben und sagen: „Ich glaube es wahrhaftig?”
E-70 Nun, Himmlischer Vater, sie sind in Deinen Händen. Sie sind... Sie nehmen für sich in Anspruch, dass sie der Same Abrahams sind. Sie möchten die Segnungen Gottes. Und jetzt habe ich es ihnen auf diese einfache, geringe Weise verkündigt. Ich begann mit meinem Text und bin nicht damit zu Ende gekommen. Aber, Vater, sie sehen hier in der Bestätigung für Abraham, dass Du ihm die Verheißung bestätigtest, ihm die Bestätigung gabst.
Nun, wenn der Geist Christi nicht in uns ist, dann sind wir nichts von Christus. Und die Natur Christi kann nicht verändert werden. Und Er hat uns genau gesagt und verheißt diese Dinge gemäß der Bibel in vielen Stellen. Sogar das Alte Testament verhieß es in Maleachi 4 [3:18-24 - Verf.], wie es in den letzten Tagen sein würde, „er würde das Herz der Kinder zurückkehren zu dem Glauben der Väter”, den Pfingstvätern, die originale Lehre der Bibel, das originale Wort, das ist es, was es tun würde. Und es gäbe ein Zeichen, und dieses Zeichen würde bestätigen, würde bestätigt werden durch die Stimme, die ihm folgen würde, dass Du hier bist. Und wir glauben Dir.
E-71 Nun, Vater, möge Satan seinen Weg hinausnehmen. Wir glauben nicht, dass wir irgendwelche Kraft haben. Wir beanspruchen nicht, dass wir Macht haben. Wir beanspruchen, Autorität zu haben. Wir vergegenwärtigen uns den kleinen Polizisten auf der Straße, mit einer kleinen Mütze, die auf seinem Kopf sitzt. Wie die großen Autos die breiten Straßen einherjagen, mit neunzig Meilen pro Stunde, mit einem 300-PS-Motor, er hat keine Kraft, um eines von ihnen zu stoppen. Sie würden ihn gerade zerschmettern.
Aber laßt ihn das Kennzeichen zeigen und seine Hände erheben, dann werden Bremsen quietschen und Reifen stocken. Es ist Autorität. Die ganze Stadt ist hinter ihm. Er hat Autorität, keine Kraft. Er mag keine hundert Pfund wiegen, aber er hat Autorität.
E-72 Und so ist es heute Abend, Herr. Wir kommen nicht mit Kraft zu Satan, sondern mit der Autorität, indem wir das Blut zeigen und die Bestätigung des Bundes. Er hat kein Recht, diese kranken Leute zu halten…
Sie anzusehen, wie sie es hier ausschwitzen. Oh Gott, wenn es irgendwie einen Weg gibt, dass ich ihnen nur die Botschaft bringen kann! Wenn sie nur sehen könnten, einfach erkennen! Wecke sie auf, Herr! Einmal heute Abend, laß sie sehen, dass Du derselbe Gott bist. Du bestätigst Dein Wort. Du hältst es genau, wie Du verheißen hast. In diesen letzten Tagen würden diese Dinge geschehen, hast Du gesagt. „Wenn der Menschensohn geoffenbart sein wird”, dass diese Dinge stattfinden würden. Gewähre es, Herr, und laß sie sehen, dass Du es bist. Ich bete im Namen Jesu. Amen.
E-73 Nun glaubt, Freunde! Ihr seid solch eine nette Versammlung. Ich laufe gerade über meine Zeit hinaus, seht, und ich wollte es nicht tun. Ich habe ihnen gesagt, dass wir zeitig herauskommen werden heute Abend, aber es mißlang mir, weil... Und ich werde vielleicht, so der Herr will, morgen Abend meinen Text zu Ende bringen.
Nun, hier sind wir. Ihr seid Menschen. Wir alle sind einfach menschliche Wesen. Wir möchten leben. Jedermann möchte seine Zeit ausleben. Ich glaube, dass der Herr möchte, dass wir das tun. Ich glaube es. Nun, es ist nicht, weil es keine Salbe in Gilead gäbe. Ihr wißt, es wurde einmal gesagt, „Warum, warum ist es? Gibt es keine Salbe in Gilead?” „Ist da kein Prophet?” Jesaja sagte, oder ich meine Elia. „Geht, fragt ihn: ‚Ist es, weil es keinen Propheten in Israel gibt? Warum gehst du dort hinauf nach Ekron, zum Gott Baal-zebub? Warum, wieso gehst du da hinauf?' Er war ein Jude: ‚Warum gehst du dort hinauf?'” Er sagte: „Ist es, weil es keine Salbe in Gilead gibt, gibt es dort keinen Arzt? Dort nicht? Ist das der Grund?”
Ist das der Grund? Nein, Herr. Wir haben Salbe bekommen. Der Heilige Geist ist hier. Jawohl. Die Verheißung gehört uns. Jetzt müßt ihr es einfach glauben. Es ist eine Zeit, zu der der Sinn der Menschen verwirrt ist, dass sie nicht... sie tun mir leid. Sie wissen nicht, was sie glauben sollen. Einer sagt dieses und einer sagt das. „Und laß jedes Menschen Wort eine Lüge sein, und Meines die Wahrheit sein”, spricht der Herr. Das stimmt. Nun, Er kann Seine Natur nicht ändern.
E-74 Nun, ich glaube, gestern Abend begannen wir mit Gebetskarte eins, (war es nicht so?) und riefen auf bis ungefähr zwanzig oder so etwas. Laßt uns einfach dieses Verfahren ändern. Laßt uns überhaupt keine Gebetskarten haben. Ja, betet einfach. Wißt ihr, eine Gebetskarte bringt euch gerade nur hier herauf. Aber ich fühle Seine Gegenwart, so weiß ich einfach, dass Er hier ist.
Wieviele haben je ein Bild gesehen von jenem Engel des Herrn? So hilf mir, wenn ich euch am Gericht begegne. Er ist keine zwei Fuß von mir entfernt, wo ich stehe. Das stimmt. Er ist hier.
E-75 Nun, irgendjemand, der keine Gebetskarte bekommen hat, hebt eure Hände und sagt: „Ich habe keine Gebetskarte bekommen, und dennoch bin ich krank und bedürftig.” Nun, es ist überall. In Ordnung.
Nun, ich sage euch. Was hat der Engel dort oben damals getan? Er wandte Seinen Rücken, hatte Abraham Seinen Rücken zugewandt. Wozu ich heute Abend kommen wollte, und bin nicht dazu gekommen. Und wo Er sagte: „Es würde dieselbe Sache sein beim Kommen des Herrn, wie es war zu Sodom.” Wir erkennen, dass Er Seinen Rücken dem Zelt zugewandt hatte. Und Sara lachte über das, was Er sagte, weil Er es ihm sagte. Und sie konnte das nicht verstehen, dass dieser dort draußen, der nur ein Mann war, das Fleisch aß, das sie gebraten hatte, die Milch trank von der Kuh, und ihr Kalb aß, dass das Gott war.
E-76 Die Bibel sagt, dass Er es war.
Abraham sagte, es war „Elohim.” Das stimmt, „Elohim.” Gott. Er erschien direkt vor Abraham. Und „Gott”, er nannte Ihn „Herr Gott, Elohim, der All-Zufriedenstellende.” Im Anfang wurde dasselbe Wort benutzt. Jeder Gelehrte weiß das. „Im Anfang Gott”, sieh auf das Hebräische, „Elohim”.
E-77 Habt acht, was Abraham sagte, „Herr Gott, Elohim”, derselbe Mann, dieselbe Person, zeigend, dass Gott Sich Selbst gegenüber Abrahams Samen in menschlichem Fleisch kundtun würde, den Bund zu bestätigen und dieselben Dinge zu tun, die Er tat, (Seht ihr es?), dieselben Dinge, die Er dort tat. Er ist immer ein Prophet, der die Gedanken und Regungen der Herzen unterscheidet.
Denn, wieviele wissen, dass die Bibel das sagte? „Das Wort Gottes unterscheidet die Gedanken, die in den Herzen sind.” Nun, wenn Gott mindestens drei Menschen hier drinnen nehmen wird, heute Abend. Nun, dieses ist eine Herausforderung. Wenn irgendjemand denkt, dass es nicht so ist, komme er und tue es. Wenn sie es nicht tun, dann sagt auch nichts darüber. Seht? Nun bemerkt, zumindest drei Menschen zu nehmen (drei ist eine Bestätigung), die völlig fremd sind, und wenn der Heilige Geist... Wenn ihr nur einfach glaubt, das ist alles, was ich möchte, das ihr tun sollt; nur zu glauben, dass diese Bibel die Wahrheit ist, und wir leben in den letzten Tagen, und dieses ist die Verheißung für die letzten Tage.
E-78 Erinnert euch, Abraham, oder sonst jemand sah kein anderes Zeichen, bis der verheißene Sohn auf die Szene kam. Abraham hatte alle Arten von Zeichen und Dinge gesehen bis zu diesem, aber dieses war das letzte Zeichen. Er wird es niemals brechen; die Stetigkeit Gottes. Der Same Abrahams, das ist ihr letztes Zeichen. Seht? Das war das letzte. Gott! Er wußte gerade dann, das war Elohim. Und Jesus kam geradewegs zurück und sagte, dass es in dieser Weise sein würde, und hier sind wir genau heutzutage darin, dieselbe Sache. Menschen, dieses ist Wahrheit.
Ich weiß zweifellos, du bist ein unbedeutend geborener... Er sagte: „Nun, es ist immer in dieser Weise gewesen.” Er wurde in einer Krippe geboren. Es gab kaum einen, der Ihm glauben würde. Aber es ist einfach jener Same, der glaubt, der zum Leben bestimmt ist, das ist alles. „Alle, die Mir der Vater gegeben hat, werden zu Mir kommen.” Das stimmt. Darüber braucht ihr euch nicht zu sorgen. Wenn ihre Namen dort sind, werden sie es sehen. Und wie? Sie werden es tun.
Nun, seht, nur der Gedanke. Ich könnte beten und die Hände auf euch legen. Ich werde besonders darüber am Sonntagnachmittag sprechen. Aber ich möchte, dass ihr seht, dass ihr eure Hände auf Ihn legen könnt. „Er ist der Hohepriester, der berührt werden kann mit dem Gefühl unserer Schwachheiten.” Glaubt ihr das? Ihr glaubt das. Und nun, wenn Er das tun wird... Ich kenne jemand hier. Ich sah zufällig hinüber, und ich sah zwei oder drei meiner Freunde gerade hier sitzen, das ist ein Prediger, ein paar von ihnen dort. Und einer mit seinem Kopf geneigt, der Herr heilte gerade seinen kleinen Jungen von einer Gehirnerschütterung. Er hat mich angerufen.
E-79 Und ein anderer Mann dort, und sein kleines Baby, gestern Abend, von dem sie dachten, dass es tot war. Und ich war in Beaumont. Und wir riefen an und gingen hinüber. Er legte seine Hände auf mich und fing an zu weinen und sagte, „Bruder Branham, das Wort des Herrn ist mit Dir. Frage Ihn einfach.” Genau in der Minute kam das kleine Baby zurück zum Leben und begann wieder neu zu leben. Dort sitzt der Vater, gerade dort, ein Prediger.
Und dieser Mann, ein Auto wurde zerstört und warf ihn von hier nach da und hinüber in einen Graben und erschütterte sein kleines Gehirn und so. Der Herr heilte ihn, er ist vollkommen normal. Sie haben geglaubt.
E-80 Jetzt sagt nicht, ich tat es. Ich hatte nichts damit zu tun. Ihr Glaube in Gott, das ist es, was es bewirkte. Seht? Habt Glauben!
Jesus sagte in Markus 11:22: „Welche Sache auch immer! Wenn ihr zu diesem Berge sprecht, ‚Hebe dich auf', und zweifelt nicht in eurem Herzen, sondern glaubt, dass es geschieht, was ihr gesagt habt, dann könnt ihr haben, was ihr gesagt habt.” Aber dort ist es, seht. Es ist keine Hoffnung; es ist ein „Es zu wissen.”
Und wenn Er Sich Selbst als lebendig erweisen kann, der Eine, der die Verheißung machte, Sich Selbst als lebendig erweisen kann, und nichts sonst in der Welt kann es tun. Wacht auf! Schüttelt euch selbst wirklich stark, euren Geist. Seht? Nichts in der Welt kann es tun als Gott.
Nun, ihr könnt es aburteilen als vom Bösen, wenn ihr möchtet. Sie hielten Ihn für böse, so können sie immer noch Seinen Geist als böse beurteilen. Sie sagten: „Er war ein Teufel, der das tat.” Nun gut, sie bekamen ihren Lohn.
Glaubt einfach. Ihr könnt nicht heilen. Ich kann nicht heilen. Es gibt keinen Menschen, der heilen kann. Gott ist der Heiler.
E-81 Aber wenn ihr gerade erkennen könnt, dass Er eben genau Derjenige ist, dem ihr dient, und euch von der Welt getrennt habt, um zu dienen, genau Derjenige, den ihr liebt; genau Derjenige, der im Gericht stehen wird, ihr im Gericht mit Ihm, um gerichtet zu werden, wenn Seine Gegenwart gerade hierher kommen kann und beweist, dass Er hier ist!
Nun, Sein physischer Leib kann es nicht tun. Wenn das kommt, ist die Zeit vorbei. „Wie der Blitz vom Osten zum Westen kommt, so wird das Kommen des Menschensohnes sein.” Aber, Sein Geist!
Und die Gemeinde ist gekommen, seht, wie sie hervorgekommen ist: Durch Rechtfertigung, Heiligung, Taufe des Heiligen Geistes; und jetzt gerade in die Entrückungszeit hinein, um die Gemeinde bereit zu machen. Genau in der Weise, wie es verheißen war, genau in der Weise, wie die Gemeindezeitalter skizziert sind, und wir haben das gesehen, alles kommt genau herunter, und genau herunter.
Pfingsten ist die letzte Organisation. Das ist gemäß der Schrift. Es wird die letzte Organisation sein, verworfen mit den übrigen von ihnen, das ist es, warum es eine Organisation gibt. Keine Organisationen werden von Gott angenommen. Es sind einzelne, es sind die einzelnen, die von Gott angenommen werden.
E-82 Nun, könnt ihr jetzt nicht glauben, dass Seine Gegenwart hier ist? Ich bin nur euer Bruder und wurde nun gesandt, weil Gott mir befahl, dieses zu tun. Deshalb glaube ich Ihm. Und wenn es nicht im Wort geschrieben wäre für diese Zeit, würde ich mich davon entfernen. Alles, was nicht in dem Wort ist, ich glaube es nicht. Ich würde es nicht annehmen. Ich sage nicht, dass ich es nicht glauben würde, aber ich nehme es nicht an. Ich verstehe es nicht. Aber wenn es in diesem Wort ist und eine Verheißung für dieses Zeitalter ist, dann verstehe ich es. Ihr auch? [Versammlung sagt: “Amen.” - Verf.] Möge der Herr uns jetzt helfen. Und reicht ihr jetzt im Glauben hinauf; glaubt, dass wir jetzt in Seiner Gegenwart sind, es ist derselbe Jesus, der die Verheißung gab.
E-83 Und hier in der Bibel, der inspirierte Paulus, der die Offenbarungen in solch einer Fülle hatte, dass er nervös wurde: „Und hatte Schwierigkeiten im Fleisch, dass er sich nicht überheben sollte über die hohen Offenbarungen.” Seht, er schrieb die Bibel, er war so inspiriert. Er schrieb die Bücher der Bibel. Wie Mose, er war ein Prophet. Das Wort kam zu ihm, und er schrieb es, und es wurde in die Schrift aufgenommen, in die Heiligen Schriften. Nun, er war Derjenige, der dieses glaubte und diese Dinge lehrte.
E-84 Nun denkt daran, dass Christus von den Toten auferstanden ist und unter uns ist. Und haltet das in euren Gedanken, Christus von den Toten auferstanden, und Er ist unter uns.
Nun, wir haben alle Arten von großen Bewegungen gesehen, und Jauchzen und Gott preisen. Alles ist fein. Wir haben in Zungen gesprochen und geweissagt und alles. Wir haben das alles gesehen. Das ist fein. Das geht gerade miteinander einher.
Aber denkt daran, das letzte Zeichen ist Seine Göttliche Gegenwart, das Wort Selbst. Es ist das Wort. Das Haupt, das Wort, Es kommt zu dem Leib. Seht? Und dann das Wort, wie in Hebräer, dem 4. Kapitel, steht: „Das Wort ist schärfer als ein zweischneidiges Schwert und ein Unterscheider der Gedanken und Beweggründe des Herzens.” Nun nehmt diese Schrift und bringt sie genau zurück zum Beginn der Propheten. Bringt es weiter hindurch zu Jesus Christus und seht, ob es nicht dieselbe Sache ist, dieselbe Sache, dass Er erkannt ist als der Messias.
Nun, es ist kein Mensch hier, der der Messias ist. Der Heilige Geist ist der Messias. Christus und der Heilige Geist ist dieselbe Sache. So ist Es jetzt hier und wirkt gerade im Fleisch, um den Leib für die Entrückungsgnade bereitzumachen. Glaubt es, Freunde.
Herr Gott, bitte laß es heute Abend geschehen.
E-85 Nun nehme ich im Namen Jesu Christi jeden Geist hier drinnen unter meine Kontrolle zur Ehre Gottes. Ich sage es, so dass ihr es verstehen könnt.
Wenn ihr zweifelt, dann ist es nicht gut, sehr lange zu bleiben; denn viele Menschen sitzen zweifellos hier, die gesehen haben, was manchmal den Ungläubigen widerfährt. Es wird von einem zu dem anderen gehen, wie es in der Bibel geschah.
E-86 Wieviele von euch hier, die ihr betet, wißt, dass ich fremd bin und nichts über euch weiß? Erhebt eure Hände, die ihr betet, so dass ihr wißt, dass ich nichts über euch weiß.
Du, jener Mann, der dort sitzt mit der schwarzen Krawatte, der mich gerade hier ansieht.
Nun seht, seht ihr das Licht? Könnt ihr das nicht sehen? Ein bernsteinfarbenes golden-grünes Licht hier unten!
Glaubst du, dass ich Sein Diener bin, Herr? Wenn Gott mir offenbaren kann, was deine Schwierigkeit ist, glaubst du, würdest du mir glauben von ganzem Herzen, würdest du glauben, es war Gott? Würdest du es tun? Würdest du glauben, dass deine Heilung käme? Hast du eine Gebetskarte? Nein, du hast keine. Du brauchst sie nicht. Deine Schwierigkeit ist in deinem Ohr. Wenn das stimmt, erhebe deine Hand. Es war in deinem Ohr; jetzt nicht mehr, wenn du es glaubst. Ich kenne den Mann nicht, ich habe ihn nie gesehen.
E-87 Nun sitzt hier ein Mann gerade neben dir. Er betet. Er betet wegen etwas, was mit ihm verkehrt ist. Sieh mich an, Herr. Hast du eine Gebetskarte? [Der Bruder sagt: „Nein.” - Verf.] Du hast keine. Glaubst du, dass ich Gottes Diener bin? [„Ja.”] Glaubst du, dass es die Wahrheit ist, was ich dir gesagt habe? [„Jawohl.”] Glaubst du, dass es die Gegenwart Jesu Christi ist? [„Jawohl.”] Glaubst du, dass dein Rücken in Ordnung sein wird von jetzt an? Glaubst du es? Erhebe deine Hand. Wenn du glauben wirst! Seht?
Nun, fragt den Mann. Ich habe ihn nie in meinem Leben gesehen. Er hat mich niemals berührt. Er ist zwanzig Fuß von mir entfernt. Was hat er berührt? Das erfüllt die Schrift. Er berührte den Hohenpriester. Er saß dort im Gebet, um geheilt zu werden. Seht, er berührte den Hohenpriester, der berührt werden kann mit dem Gefühl unserer Schwachheiten. Seht?
E-88 Nun, was denkst du junger Mann, der du dort hinten sitzt, ein junger Bursche, der mich so geradewegs ansieht? Glaubst du, dass Gott das Nierenleiden geheilt hat, das du bekommen hast? Glaubst du? Erhebe deine Hand, wenn du es glaubst. Du möchtest mit der Gewohnheit, die du hast aufhören, die Zigaretten wegwerfen? Winke so mit der Hand, wenn es so ist. Dann lege es hin und vergiß es. Jesus Christus hat dich geheilt. Wenn du glauben kannst!
Gerade jenseits von dir sitzt eine Dame mit einer Brille. Sie leidet an einer nervösen Schwierigkeit. Glaubst du, dass Gott dich heilen wird, Dame? Erhebe deine Hand, wenn du es glaubst. In Ordnung.
Möchtest du mir einen Gefallen tun? Dort gerade neben dir sitzt eine Dame, sie leidet an einer Frauenkrankheit. Das stimmt, Dame. Erhebe deine Hand, wenn es so ist. Drainage. Lege deine Hand auf sie hinüber, dass sie gesund wird, denn sie glaubt.
E-89 Sage, dann neben ihr, eins zwei, dort ist es gerade über der anderen Dame, die neben ihr sitzt. Sie leidet mit ihren Beinen. Glaubst du, dass Gott deine Beine heilen wird? Erhebe deine Hand. Da habt ihr es, seht?
Glaubt ihr, dass Er Jesus Christus Derselbe gestern, heute und für immer ist? [Versammlung sagt: „Amen.” - Verf.]
Glaubst du, die du hier sitzst? Gerade hinter diesem Mann hier vorne, die Dame, die hier sitzt? Glaubst du, dass Gott... Du hast zwei gefährliche Dinge. Eins davon ist Krebs, das andere ist Arthritis. Glaubst du, dass Gott dich heilen wird, erhebe deine Hand und sage: „Ich glaube.” In Ordnung, glaube.
Glaubt ihr? Er bestätigt Seinen Bund.
E-90 Hier sitzt eine Dame und sieht mich an, genau hinter diesem Mann. Sie trägt ein rötliches Kleid, etwas derartiges. Rot, hier oben; es könnte ein Pullover sein. Sie ist zu weit weg. Es ist dort hinten so trübe. Nachher, seht, es macht einen so schwach, die ganze Sache beginnt einfach, sich in eine Art milchige Färbung durch den Raum zu verwandeln.
Aber dort, erhebt sich über ihr. Seht ihr das Licht? Sie betet wegen etwas. Wenn Jesus mir offenbaren wird, weswegen du betest, wirst du von ganzem Herzen glauben? Du wirst es? Ich bin dir gegenüber fremd, du bist mir gegenüber fremd. Aber du kamst in Kontakt mit dem Hohenpriester, denn das Zeichen, das Er mir gibt, ist genau über dir, seht, seht, das Zeichen. Ich weiß, dass es so ist.
Du hast ein enormes nervöses Problem, unter dem du leidest. Und außerdem hast du einen Kropf am Hals, und du leidest darunter. Wenn das stimmt, erhebe deine Hand.
Ihr sagt: „Du kannst das sehen.”
E-91 In Ordnung, du kommst... Du bist nicht von hier. Du bist nicht von diesem Land hier, von diesem Ort, du kommst von Memphis. Das stimmt.
Die Dame neben dir, sie kommt auch von Memphis. Glaubst du von ganzem Herzen, Dame? Glaubst du, dass Gott dich heilen kann? Glaubst du, dass ich Sein Prophet bin, oder Sein Diener? Das bringt die Menschen zum Stolpern, seht. Glaubst du, dass ich Sein Diener bin? Glaubst du, dass es Gott ist, der dieses Gespräch führt? Du weißt, ich würde nichts über dich wissen. Glaubst du, dass es dann Gott wäre? In Ordnung. Glaube von ganzem Herzen. Woran du leidest, du hast Schwierigkeiten mit deiner Kehle, ebenfalls. Und eine andere Sache, du hast einen Knoten, ein Gewächs in deiner Seite. Glaubst du, dass Gott mir sagen kann, in welcher Seite es ist? Wenn es so ist, dann erhebe deine Hand, wenn ich die Wahrheit sage. Es ist in deiner rechten Seite. Seht. Seht? Glaubst du, dass Gott mir sagen kann, wer du bist? Wird dir das helfen? Du bist Frau Cox. Das stimmt. Seht? Gehe zurück, seht.
Glaubt ihr? Glaubt ihr jetzt alle? [Versammlung jubelt und sagt: „Amen.” - Verf.] Seht, das ist die Bestätigung des Bundes zu dem Samen Abrahams, wenn ihr glauben könnt. Seht?
E-92 Hier liegt eine kleine Frau draußen auf der Bahre. Kannst du mich hören, Dame, die du auf der Bahre liegst? Yea. Ich kann dich nicht heilen. Ich weiß nichts über dich; du bist eben eine Fremde für mich. Aber glaubst du, dass Jesus Christus mir offenbaren kann, was deine Schwierigkeit ist? Würde dir das helfen? Würde es? Es würde. Wenn du dort liegst, wirst du sterben. Du hast nur eine Möglichkeit zu leben, das ist, nimm Christus an. Du hast Krebs. Das stimmt. Glaubst du, dass Gott dich jetzt gesund machen wird? Glaubst du? Erhebe deine Hand, wenn du es glaubst. In Ordnung. An deiner Stelle ist das einzige, was du tun könntest, dich aus diesem Bett zu erheben, und nimm auf, worauf du liegst und gehe nach Hause, beanspruche deinen Glauben in Gott als der Same Abrahams. Stehe auf, in dem Namen Jesu.
Seht, sie steht auf, um ihre Verheißung in Gott zu nehmen.
E-93 Wieviele, die hier sitzen, glauben jetzt von ganzem Herzen?
Stehe auf. Du hast Kraft bekommen; Gott möchte dir Kraft geben. Stehe auf, auf deine Füße. Dort ist sie, aufgestanden von ihrer Bahre.
Nun, die übrigen von euch, die Jesus Christus aufnehmen möchten, steht auf. Steht auf. Steht auf, überall, nehmt Jesus Christus an als euren Heiler.
Herr Jesus, heile jeden einzelnen von ihnen. Gewähre es, Herr.
E-1 Be seated. This is a great opportunity, to come back again tonight. And a great blessing to me, to come and speak to you about our Lord Jesus, Whom I'm sure that most of you know, or I hope you do, in the pardoning of your sins and--and by the way of His grace, to you. And may He impart to you, tonight, more of His grace. When we leave here, may we be able to say, like those coming from Emmaus, "Our hearts burned within us, as He talked with us along the way." Now each one of you...

E-2 I believe they have a--a--a--a public relation man like him. Mr. Vayle here is having a--a lesson, kind of answering questions and talking on the Scripture. Is that here in this building? Right in this building, of a morning. And if anybody is free, and some ministers, or so forth, would like to visit, why, anybody is welcome. And Brother Vayle is quite a profound teacher. Really, he's got a good education.

E-3 And therefore, I said the other day, I--I wish I had an education. I have to use parables, like something another, to explain, you know. I don't have enough education to break it down. But somehow, or another, the Lord helps me get it by.

E-4 And so I remember, one time there was a--a man in the Scripture, his name was John, and his father was a priest. Usually, they followed what their father did. But he had really a message; he was to announce the Messiah. And now if he went down to the school of where his father went, they said, "Now, you know dear Brother So-and-so? That's just the Messiah," they almost had him talked into it. So, see, he didn't go to any school of that sort.

E-5 He went into the wilderness, where he learned of God. You notice his messages come out? He never had no education. He went in at nine years old, come out at thirty, preached six months, and was executed. Now we find that he used... Just like the Pharisees come out, and the Sadducees, and he said, "Oh, you generation of snakes!" That's what he had seen in the wilderness; snakes, something that's dirty and slimy, and deceiving. See?

E-6 Now somebody might have said, "Why, you little insignificant piece of inconvenience," or something. But he...

E-7 But, see, he knowed no words to use, so he just said, "You generation of snakes," that's what he had seen in the wilderness. Said, "Who has warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Don't begin to say, that 'We got, we belong to this and belong to that,' 'cause God is able of these stones," what he had seen, "to rise up children unto Abraham. And the axe is laid to the root of the tree." He knew what to do with a bad tree. "Ever who is bringing forth not good fruit, is hewn down and cast into the fire," to burn up the bad wood.

E-8 See, all of his message was something of nature, he patterned it. The common people understand that. And then they... I think sometimes it may be a little better to do than all these great big words that people learn in school.

E-9 Now, we was a little late last night, so we're trying to get you out just on time, tonight, if we possibly can. And I trust that the Lord won't let it rain too bad tonight, on this tin roof, so we'll just believe and--and try to serve Him, the best of our knowledge.

E-10 Now let us stand as we read God's Word, as we read now from the Book of Genesis. And we're beginning at the 22nd chapter and the 7th verse, reading the 14th, inclusive.
And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for the burnt-offering?
And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for the burnt-offering: so they went both of them together.
And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound his own son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.
And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.
And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.
And he said, Lay not thy hand upon the lad, neither do thou lay... upon him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast withheld... not withheld thy... only son from me.
And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in the thicket by the horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt-offering in... stead of his son.
And Abraham called the name of the place Jehovah-jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD shall it be seen.

E-11 Let us bow our heads just a moment, for a word of prayer.

E-12 Our Heavenly Father, we are told by this Word, which is God, that, "Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing of the Word of God." And now, Father, we pray that You will impart to us the context of this reading, that we might learn as it is told us by the Bible, that, "All those things back in the Old Testament was examples that we should see." To those who obey God's call, are blessed. Those who refuse it, are cursed. So we pray, Father, that we'll have understanding, tonight, by the revelation. May the Holy Spirit reveal to us the things that's pertaining to us in this day, it's all hid in this great mystery of God that's been since the foundation of the world. For we ask it in Jesus' Name. Amen.
You may be seated.

E-13 I want to talk on the subject, the Lord willing, from the thought of: Jehovah-Jireh. The word means "God will provide Himself a sacrifice."

E-14 And we're speaking of Abraham, and this was at the time that he was looking for a promised son. To get the real truth of this, we'll go back. And this was in the 22nd chapter. We want to visit back; I got a few Scriptures wrote out here, that I'd like to refer to, if possible. And I want to speak on them, and I want to start from the 12th chapter. We'll go back to find out who this character Abraham is, and now how--how did it come that God chose him.

E-15 We know that the promise was given to Abraham and his Seed after him, and only to be in Abraham are we heirs with him with the promise. Now Abraham had seed, and the seed, of course, was, he had many seed, seeds, but he had one Seed that the promise was to. He had Ishmael; and then after Sarah died, he married another woman and had seven sons besides the daughters; and they're all seed of Abraham, but the--the seeds of Abraham. But the Seed was the one had the promise. And the Seed, actually, is the faith of Abraham, that he had in the promised Word of God.

E-16 Now Abraham, we find out, we... don't appear until we find him here about the 12th chapter. The 11th chapter of Genesis, we find that his father came down from Babylon. And Abraham was just an ordinary man, just as you or I, or anyone else. And he was getting, rather, what we would think, aged man. He was seventy-five years old. He had married his half sister. Her name was Sarah. And his name then, of course, wasn't Abraham, it was Abram. And--and hers was Sarah. So we find that she was ten years younger than he, which made her sixty-five, and him seventy-five years old.

E-17 They probably, as a farmer, lived in the valley of the Shinar there, and lived an ordinary life. He--he probably went out in the daytime, and got his meat from the bush, and picked berries, and lived that sort of a life. Just an ordinary man, there was nothing special about him. But one day, God called him. That's what made the difference, when God made the call.

E-18 And that's the way it is to any life. It takes God. It isn't what you do; it's what God does. See? You say, "I sought God. I sought God." You're mistaken. No man seeks God. God seeks the man. See? It's not you seeking God; it's God seeking you.

E-19 Jesus said, "You haven't chose Me, but I chose you." See? So you're chose before the foundation of the world, or you wasn't chose at all. He just come to redeem that name. And all whose names are not on that Lamb's Book of Life... before the foundation of the world, is the only ones going to be there, anyhow. See? You were chose in Him before the foundation of the world. When the Lamb was chosen, then you were chosen with Him, before the foundation.

E-20 And you are, as I said last night, an attribute of God's thinking. See, that's the only way you can be Eternal, and only form of Eternal Life. There is only one form of Eternal Life, and that's God. So, that's all, He is the One that's Eternal.

E-21 Now we find that Abraham had that place. And God, in the Old Testament, worked out types and shadows, to show what He was going to do.

E-22 Now we find here that God spoke to him. And the great thing, after God called him... The call that God gave was a supernatural call. But, yet, it never staggered Abraham, no time. He always knowed it was God. That's a great thing. When...

E-23 God's callings are supernatural; there is nothing natural. God takes the supernatural and works it out in the natural, but the callings of God are supernatural. The Bible said, "Gifts and callings are without repentance." See, it's foreordained by--by God.

E-24 Now we find that, in this, that Abraham being called, he heard the voice of God, and He told him something that was almost totally impossible. Him being seventy-five years old, his wife sixty-five years old, that would make her about twenty years past menopause, and lived with her since she was a girl. They had no children. And, yet, told him they were going to have a baby, and though this baby the whole world, all the nations, would be blessed. Now that's a strange thing.

E-25 "And Abraham," the Bible said in Romans the 4th chapter, "staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strong, giving praise to God."

E-26 I can imagine, after the first month... Course, Sarah, as I said, was past menopause. The first month, I can imagine Abraham said, "Sarah, how do you feel, honey?"
"No different."

E-27 "Well, bless God we're going to have the baby, anyhow. We're just going to have it. God said we was."

E-28 Sarah, knitted the little booties, and got the birdeye and the pins, and everything; got ready, making ready for it, 'cause she knowed she was going to have it. God said so. See?

E-29 The first year passed. "You feeling any different, honey?"
"No different at all."

E-30 "Praise God! It'll be a greater miracle now than it was the first time. See, it's a year later. Going to have it, anyhow." Why? God said so. That settles it. God said so. We... God said so.

E-31 Ten years passed. "How you feeling now, honey?" Here she is seventy-five, and he is eighty-five.

E-32 Now could you imagine an old man and woman like that, today, going down to the hospital, and saying, "Doctor, we want to make arrangements. We're going..."?

E-33 God asks you to believe some of the most ridiculous things, but He always makes it right. God... A person that believes God, absolutely acts crazy, to the world.

E-34 Could you imagine Moses, trained in all the--the wisdom of the Egyptians, head of the armies, the--the--the--the armies of Egypt. And, yet, forty years it taken him to train up to that, and it taken God forty years to take that education out of him, just... what it take the world to put in him. Forty years more, he got him all trained down, all the education, theology out of him. And He met him on the backside of the desert, and he knowed more about God, in five minutes in the Presence of God, than he learned in forty years out of books. That's right.

E-35 God is not known by education. He is known by faith. And God spoke to him in the supernatural. And what a ridiculous thing, sometimes, God makes us do.

E-36 Could you imagine an old man, eighty years old, running, a prophet running from God, and in the Presence of God five minutes. The next morning, could you imagine him, an old man, whiskers hanging way down like this; his bald head shining; a crooked stick in his hand; his wife sitting astraddle a mule, with a young'n on her hip; on the road down!
"Where are you going, Moses?"
"Going down to Egypt, to take over."

E-37 See, "take over," a one-man invasion. That sounds ridiculous. But, the thing of it was, he done it, because God said so. That settles it.

E-38 When God says so, that's all there is to it. That's--that's it. If God made the promise, hang your soul on it. If you can believe it, hang your... If you don't believe it, stay away from it; it'll harm you. But if you believe it, stay with it, it'll take you to the victory, just as sure as the world.

E-39 Now we find out, that, "Abraham staggered not at the promise of God." And when he was a hundred years old, and she was ninety, I can hear him; can't hardly talk now, he's getting so old and feeble, "Well, Sarah, dear, how do you feel?"
"Oh, dear, I feel no different."

E-40 "Hallelujah! We're--we're going to have it, anyhow. God said so, that's all there is to it. God gave the promise." He said he was "fully persuaded that God was able to perform what He promised."

E-41 And now we call ourselves the Seed of Abraham, his Royal Seed (not Isaac's seed), His Royal Seed, Christ; and stagger at any promise, fuss with it and say it's not so, and doubt it in our minds? I doubt us being Abraham's Seed when we got that kind of a thought in us. Abraham's Seed staggers not at no thing. It calls things which were not, as though they were, because God said so. He's a Creator. He can make it so. He promised it, and that settles it. That's all there is to it. When God says it, that settles the whole thing. Now, remember, he wanted it... There could not... He told...

E-42 Another thing He told him to do, to separate himself now from his kindred and all of his people.

E-43 God, in order to get a man or a woman, boy or girl, to obey Him, you have to separate yourself from all unbelief, that's right, until you totally separate yourself from anything contrary to that Word, and believe It. You... God calls for a total separation.

E-44 What a difference there is today in our schools that's sending out ministers. They just in-documate them with all kinds of unbelief and theories that's no more Scriptural than some kind of a creed that they make up, and then send them out with such basis as that. No wonder we've hatched out a bunch of Oswald's and Jack Ruby's, and so forth, across the country. Communism is swallowing the country, because we've got seminaries and incubator preachers instead of God-sent, born-again, Holy Ghost filled, Fire-born sons of God, children of Abraham who believe the Word of God to be emphatically the Truth and nothing else but the Truth, rugged, and can stand there upon the promises, in the face of anything, and face it down, that it is the Truth. It's God's Word. All right.

E-45 Now He said, "Separate yourself from all your kindred, from all your people, everything, and follow Me."

E-46 God has not changed His way. God is the unchangeable God. The way God does anything, one time, He has to do it the same way the second time. Remember, when you can see God's action in any time, if He... If--if a man was lost, and He saved a man upon the basis of any certain decision He made, He has to always forever stay with that same decision. He cannot change it. See? He is infinite.

E-47 We are finite. I can know more tomorrow than I know today. So can you know more next year than you do this year. You know more this year than you did last year, but not God.

E-48 He is perfect, infinite. Everything He does is perfect. He can't make a decision today and make a better one tomorrow. His first one is perfect. Therefore, you can just hang your soul on anything He says, it's the Truth.

E-49 God was called on one time to make a decision, how to save a man, and the way He did it was upon the basis of the shed Blood of an innocent One, in the garden of Eden. And man has tried everything in the world to save man, otherwise; they've built cities, they've built towers, they've had organizations, educations, and everything else, and the whole thing is a total flop. There is only one way that God ever saves a man, that's through the shed Blood of the Innocent. That's the only way. That was God's first decision. He ever remains with it.

E-50 If God ever healed a man on the basis He healed him on, He has got to heal the next one when he comes to that place. If He didn't, He acted wrong when He acted the first time when the decision was to be made.

E-51 If He ever makes a decision, He has to ever stay with it. If He doesn't, He made the wrong decision then. See? And who can say God made a wrong decision? See? We couldn't say that. So God has to ever remain with His decision. So when He makes it, it's that.

E-52 So He said, "Separate yourself from all your kindred, everything, all the unbelief that come down from Babylon up there."

E-53 The first great organization in the world was Babylon, when it organized all the cities to pay tribute to this one city, very type, all these ism's and new things seen today. If you ever read Hislop's Two Babylons, and so forth, and get back in Genesis, you'll find out Genesis is the beginning, to see, you see all these ism's and things, right placed right in there.

E-54 See, the self-starched Pharisees that come down from there, from that woman with them curious roots and so forth, come right down in the days of Jesus. Pharisees didn't believe in Spirit or nothing else, and they hindered Jesus. Jesus said, "Let them alone. If the blind leads the blind, they both fall in the ditch. Let them." He went right on preaching, and healing the sick, and performing miracles, and just the same. It didn't stop Him, because He was the Word. The Word goes right on, regardless of what takes place.

E-55 So we find those things go on, and they finally come to the blossom here in the last days. As Jambres and Jannes withstood Moses, so will it be the same thing.

E-56 Now, total separation from all unbelief. And, remember, Abraham the patriarch was never absolutely fully blessed until he obeyed exactly what God said do. And we'll never, never, never be blessed any, and have the blessings, until we obey what God said do.

E-57 Another thing I want you to notice here in the 12th chapter, that the covenant was altogether unconditional. It was not any strings attacked to it. "I have," not "if you." There wasn't no if's to it. "I have already done it." He give Abraham the covenant, unconditionally.

E-58 And now know, in the Adamic covenant, it was, "If you don't touch this tree, then I'll do so-and-so. But if you do, then I'll have to do so-and-so." See, that had law attached to it.

E-59 But in this covenant, "I have already made you a father of many nations." And He, all, it's all unconditional. The covenant is purely grace, just absolutely grace. Only thing they had to do to maintain this covenant was stay and abide in the land; and every blessing, went with the covenant, was with them. Only thing they had to do was stay in that land. Now we find out, when they went down in Egypt, they lost their blessing, but not their covenant. The covenant was still there. They lost the blessing, but not their covenant, because their covenant was grace, unconditionally.

E-60 And in--in Exodus, the 19th chapter. Ex-... Israel made one of its most rashel things that it ever did, was when it refused grace and accepted law. Look what grace had done. Grace had to furnish them a deliverer, had to furnish them a prophet, with a Pillar of Fire to a vindicate him with a confirmed word, was the sacrificial lamb. Grace had give them a great revival. Grace had brought them through, opened up the Red Sea, brought them across that. Delivered them with signs and wonders, all by grace. But they wanted something so they could make themselves some big names.

E-61 Now, if that just isn't the people today, it's just the same thing. They got to be, man has got to get hisself involved in it somewhere. And there is where that Israel made its great mistake, when it rejected grace and took law, instead. And the... Still, but the covenant that He made with them was still unconditional. It's still the same thing today, we find it.

E-62 Abraham, then, after he had these conditions given to him, he started his journey, going on. Now we find he moved out.

E-63 And in the 13th chapter, he finally come to a spot of full obedience to God. Now we find, in the 13th chapter, that Lot... First, he took his father, and the old man was always kind of in the way. And he tried to get a bunch dragging along with him. And when you do that, there is where you got it. God said, "Separate."

E-64 "Well, I'll tell you, they don't believe exactly, but..." Then get away from it. That's the only thing, just stay away from it.

E-65 And then the old man, he finally, at the very end, then, Lot became a--a hair in the biscuit, as to say. We find out that he begin to murmur. And they both got rich, and they had plenty to get along with. And we find out then that Lot begin to quarrel, his herdsmen against Abraham's herdsmen.

E-66 And we find out that He hadn't, God hadn't fully found faithfulness in... -aham, Abraham, to obey what He told him to do, to completely separate himself from all of his kindred, from all of his people, and to serve Him.

E-67 So we find out that, God speaking to Abraham here, at the altar, and had told him what to do. Finally, Lot, when come the question come up between Abraham and Lot; was his brother Haran's son, and they... It would be his nephew. And finally said, "Let... We are brethren now. We won't have any quarrels among us. Now you, if you go east, I'll go west. And if you go west, I'll go east. Now you just separate ourselves, and we won't... There is plenty of room here for all of us. And you just go, you just make the choice." Now that was the real Christian spirit in Abraham, give even the enemy the benefit of the choice. And so he let him take his way.

E-68 And Lot, like so many today, seen the opportunity. If he ever got away from the strictness, why, he might make hisself a few dollars, he might be a popular man. So he looked down towards Sodom. And it was a welE-watered land, and big city, and fine, industrious, salt, and so forth. They, they had the exports from there. And--and then, again, it was full of big time, women with all their Jezebel paint and everything, just a great time. His wife kind of felt a little that way, too, because, we find out, after he become mayor down there that she kind of--she kind of liked the way of the people. And that's the only thing you have to do, is get mixed up with something. See?

E-69 God wants you to separate yourself, and--and get so far away from them things till you don't even see them at all. That, you want to see one thing, that's Him and what He promised.

E-70 But Mrs. Lot, she kind of liked it. And, no doubt, she kind of said, "Dear, now I was just down, and you look how the women are dressing down there, and look at those girls. Look how our girls dress. So don't you think that they're more modern?" Oh, my! If we haven't got right back to another Sodom, I don't know why. There we find.

E-71 But Abraham stayed with the promise. Then we find out, as it goes on, and the... as they separated themselves, and Lot. And Abraham took the poorer grounds, little way, stayed up where there was not very much grazing for his cattle. And, but, he was ready to take the way, because God had put him in that land, and that's where he wanted to stay. Ready to take it!

E-72 Now when he finally, fully obeyed God, when he finally obeyed God to its fulness, to separate himself completely, it was then the Lord appeared to him again. Until he did that, the Lord stayed away from Abraham. But when he fully obeyed, then Lot... God appeared to him, He said "Abraham, lift up your eyes. Look east, look west, look north, look south, all of it belongs to you." Amen. Now, I like that.

E-73 And, you know, that's something like it was when I got saved. I had always heard about God being the great God. And, you know, when I got saved, I... Somebody said, "Now all you have to do is join a church, and put your name on this church roll here at the Baptist church. That's all you have to do."

E-74 But, you know, one day I seen that I was heir to something, that I--I--I wanted to look through it and see what I had. You know, I'm just that way. Like a--a big arcade, you own it, and--and everything in there belongs to you.

E-75 You--you don't know what you own till you go to looking through the Bible, to find out the promises. Amen. They'll keep you from them if they can; but they're yours. Every promise is to Abraham and to his Seed after him. Amen. Every Divine promise in the Word belongs to Abraham and his Seed, and you're a heir to it. An heir! Oh, my! I like to look through and see what I got. If somebody give me something, I like to look it over. And I like to look through the Bible and see what belongs to me. Every Seed of Abraham ought to do that, when you become borned again, filled with the Spirit of God, and the Holy Spirit upon you, you're a heir to every one of those promises.

E-76 You know, it's like I said, a big arcade, for we're baptized into that arcade. By one Spirit we're all baptized into one Body, and that Body is Christ, which is the Royal Seed of Abraham, and heirs to everything that's in it. Amen. Everything that was in God, God poured into Christ; everything that was in Christ, He poured into the believer. Amen. God above us, God with us, and God in us! Everything, every promise in the Book, is yours if you can believe it, if you have faith enough to accept it and believe it.

E-77 You know, I look around, if I find something that's a little too high, wonder what's in that, I'll get me a ladder and push it around, and keep climbing till I get up to it. That's the way, a promise in the Bible, if anything seems like it's kind of mysterious to me, I just keep on praying till I reach it. That's all. That's the way to do it. Keep praying, keep holding on, climbing up, believing, until you're... You're heir to it, you got a promise to it, and you got a right to it, and, "Ask and you shall receive, for all things are possible to them that believe."

E-78 Now we find out that Abraham walked through the land. God told him, said, "Walk through the land, look over it. Everything in here belongs to you. Every bit of it is all yours. It all belongs to you."

E-79 Now we find out then, that, that in the 14th chapter of Exodus now or... 14th chapter of Genesis, pardon me. In the 14th chapter of Genesis, Abraham and Lot had been separated, and Lot finally got into some trouble. And you'll always do, when you separate yourself from believers, you'll get into trouble. We find out that the kings done confeder and they made war. And they come down and they took Sodom, they took Gomorrah, they took all their kings of the dales and valleys, and everything, and took Lot. And just a few people escaped into the mountains.

E-80 And when they did, someone that escaped come and told Abraham the Hebrew, said, that, "The Sodom has fallen, and Gomorrah, and they have took their kings, and--and so forth, and took all the peoples, and their victuals and everything they had. And they took Lot and his wife, and his daughters, all the women, and has gone on with it."

E-81 Now, Abraham, watch this Christian spirit pursuing for his brother. Even that, though, Lot backslidden, gone back, yet Abraham loved him. He kept on pursuing.

E-82 Just like Jesus, in the Laodicea Church Age. Yet, they put Him out of their church. And He was on the outside, knocking, trying to get back in. [Brother Branham knocks seven times on the pulpit--Ed.] If He could just get somebody to open a door so He could come in!

E-83 There is that spirit of Abraham, see, going after his fallen, degraded brother. And he went after him, and he took his three hundred man servants and armed them. And he met him down at Dan; that's the extreme end of Palestine there. And he met him there, and separated hisself at night, and pursued and fought the armies down, and overcome the kings, and slaughtered them, and brought back all that was taken out.

E-84 Notice, when he come back, what a beautiful picture here. That's the reason I just like to kind of preview this a little bit, so we get the... before I get to my text of Jehovah-Jireh. If you notice Abraham bringing back all that had been lost, his wayward brother and the children, as he brought them back, the kings come out to meet him.

E-85 And Melchizedek come out, "Which was the King of Salem, King of peace, the King of righteousness, the King of Jerusalem; without father, without mother, without beginning of days, without ending of life." Melchizedek met him on the slau-... coming from the slaughter of the king, to Whom the patriarch Abraham (Hebrews 7) met this Man and paid a tenth, a tithing. What a great Man this must have been! Who you think it was? "He had no father. He had no mother. He had never did begin." And ever Who He is, He is still a living. "He never did end. The King of Salem, King of peace!" Oh, Who was this great Man?

E-86 And notice what a type we find here. After the battle is over, after the--the real believer has fought the enemy, broke down the lines and tried to capture his brother, the real Seed of Abraham bringing back that wayward brother, Melchizedek come out and served wine and bread, communion, giving communion after the battle was over, served the communion to him after the battle.

E-87 A very beautiful type of when the battle is over, here on earth, the victories have been won. Jesus said, "They would eat it anew in the Father's Kingdom, after the wayward has been brought back. Then the first thing we do when we go in, after the battle is over, is sit down at the table in the Kingdom of God. And there those that has fought, and sat down and overcome, shall be clothed in the righteousness of Christ, and then again they take the bread and the wine, in the Father's Kingdom on the other side. What a real picture this is, of Abraham going out and getting Lot and bringing him back.

E-88 Now we find out then, that in the 15th chapter, we find something very outstanding here. I--I kind of like this, extremely well, seeing who Abraham was now, and Abraham and his Seed after him. We find here, that after Abraham had done all these great things; believing God, holding to the promise, separating himself, and all along following out the way of--of carrying out the commandments of the Lord; we find out that God appeared to him at the altar. And Abraham asked Him the question, he said, "Now, who is my heir but--but this Eliezer of Damascus? And now You promised me a Seed. And I--I want You to do something; I want You to confirm this promise to me."

E-89 And God said that He would confirm it to Abraham, confirming the covenant that He had made between Him and Abraham. Now He is going to give him a sign that it's going to be true. That, even though he's old, he's about eighty-five now, but yet He is going to prove to him, by a sign, that He's going to keep that covenant.

E-90 Oh, I'm so glad that God always gives us signs, because He... We ought to know, today, that the hour that we're now living, there is supposed to be a sign in the earth at this time. We're to look for that sign. God never does anything without first giving the people a sign and a warning. And a genuine sign is followed by a voice, and the voice is always a Scriptural voice.

E-91 Now He is going to confirm the covenant to Abraham, or Abram, yet. And He said, "Take you a young heifer." Now, remember, there is a female calf. And take a she goat of three years old. "Each must be three years old." Notice, a three-year-old heifer, female; three-year-old goat, a female. "And a ram," male. Each three, three years old, and there is three of them. Three; she, two she's, and a he. See? Three-year-old, clean sacrifice, a lamb... a heifer, a three-year-old she goat, and then a ram.

E-92 If you notice, everything there builds into a sign. And now I'm not supposed to preach doctrine from the platform here, and I'm sure that's close enough you can see. Notice. And took two, two birds. "One a pigeon and one a turtledove," which are the same family, the pigeon and the turtledove.

E-93 Now he cut the goat... the sheep in two. He cut the--the ram and the goat, and the others. He divided them, cut them in half, and laid them down. But the doves, he... and the pigeon, he did not divide. That was, course, anyone knows the Scripture, know that's Divine healing. See, it's in both covenants. And so we find out, he laid them in. Healing is always by faith in the shed Blood, always. And the old covenant had Divine healing, how much more has the New Covenant got it? See? If the old covenant produced it, what about the New one, when, "It's a much better covenant, speak of better, higher things, greater things, better things"? The New Covenant!

E-94 Now we find in this, that Abraham, when he did this, then notice what happened. Now here is a great, outstanding point. I don't want you to--to--to miss it. The confirmation of the covenant, in other words, it's a promise, that, "I'm true to what I do or what I say I'll do," God confirming it to Abraham.

E-95 And he took those sacrifices and slayed them, and put them end to end, together, as he laid them down; and watched the birds off of them, so the birds wouldn't come down upon the fresh meat, until the sun was going down, in the evening. And when the sun came down, or was going down, here He showed Abraham what He was going to do in the future, what was going to happen. Notice, He told Abraham.

E-96 First thing he saw was a real horror of darkness come over him. First, a real heavy sleep fell upon him. Now, that sleep represented death to all human beings. Every man has to die; death to all human beings. That sleep come upon him; and before that went a--a--a real horror of blackness; and then went a furnace of fire; and then a little burning Light went between the covenant, went between the sacrifices, divided it. Now what does that mean? It means that every human being has to die; and really, after that, deserves to go to hell; that's right, in darkness, outer darkness, separated from God; but the Light came in, and went in between, dividing those sacrifices. If you understand, we... That covenant!

E-97 Like we Americans, how do we make a covenant? Well, the first thing we do, we say, we're going to make some kind of a business deal or something, we usually go out and eat; and sit down, talk a while, and then give our propositions; and then shake one another's hands. We say, "Shake on it!" That's our covenant. That's our promise.

E-98 Now, in Japan, you know how they make a covenant in Japan? They also have something to eat; then they pick up a little cruise of salt, and they throw salt on each other. That's confirmation of the covenant.

E-99 We shake hands, say, "It's sealed, old boy. I believe it. I'll stay with you. It's a promise."

E-100 In Japanese, Japan, they throw salt on one another. "It's sealed, buddy. That's the end of it." That's the end of all strife then. They, they made the covenant, confirmed it, by throwing salt on one another.

E-101 But in the old days. Can I have one of these? [Brother Branham picks up a piece of paper--Ed.] In the old days, here is the way they made a covenant. We drawed an agreement, and we took the agreement and wrote it out like that. And then we killed an animal, a sacrifice; divided it, laid it out like it was in Abraham's time there. And then we stood in between this covenant, you and I, and we made a vow to God. "If we fail to keep this covenant, may we be as that dead sacrifice that died in our place. Let that blood of that sacrifice answer on us. May we die the same death, if we fail to keep the covenant."

E-102 Then it's all drawed out, or wrote out on a piece of script like that. Then it's tore in two, like that. [Brother Branham tears a piece of paper in two--Ed.] Now you take one half, and I take a half. And now, you see, you cannot duplicate that at all, especially when it's wrote on a sheepskin. See, you could not duplicate it at all. This has to exactly dovetail with that, to make it so. And then when we come together, I'm carrying one part, you're carrying the other part. And then when we come together, and this covenant is to be made, and our vows is to be paid, then my piece of paper must exactly dovetail with your piece of paper, and therefore you are the one that's with me in the covenant.

E-103 What God was showing there He was doing, that God Himself was coming down to be made flesh, and He was going to be in the covenant. And God took Christ, the Spirit; God Jehovah took Christ, at on the cross, and He tore Him in two. He ripped out His soul and set it on High, and took the body and put it in the grave. And lifted up the body, in the morning of the resurrection; and sent back the Spirit that was upon Him, to be on the Church. That, the same confirmation in this last days, "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever," with that same covenant, would have to be in the people.

E-104 How you going to get It through education? How you going to get It any way besides a confirmation of the living, resurrected Jesus Christ that's been raised up from the dead and sitting in the Majesty on High, tonight? With the same Spirit was upon Him, is upon Abraham's royal Seed, in the last days, confirming and proving that He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Amen. It makes you feel religious, doesn't it? There He is, in the--the exact covenant, right, by a Covenant upon their hearts. Jesus said, "The things that I do shall you also."

E-105 As we come up here to Sodom, in a few minutes, watch how it is, how it takes place there, exactly how the promise is for the last day and what He would do.

E-106 He was confirming it, showing that He... He tore the body of Jesus apart, taking the Spirit, lifted up the body to the right hand of the throne of God; and sent down the other part, the part He tore out, the Spirit upon us, which is called the Holy Spirit. And the very Life that was in Christ is in you, that shows He's your Redeemer. He's adopted you unto God, and now we are sons and daughters of God, with the Spirit of Christ. Amen.

E-107 "Works that I do shall you do also. Greater than this shall you do, for I go unto My Father." Amen.

E-108 The Spirit that was in Him is on you, Eternal Life. He is the giver of Eternal Life. He's a Redeemer, to bring back that which fell in the fall, in the human race, to bring back to God. And the Spirit that was in Christ is in you. And if the spirit of a--of a Dillon was in me, I'd have guns. If the spirit of an artist was in me, I'd paint pictures. If the Spirit of Christ is in you, the works of Christ you'll do. Amen. That's right. The Life that was in Him is in you.

E-109 Transfer the life from anything to another thing. If you could take the life of a--of a pumpkin and put it in a watermelon vine, it would bear pumpkins, exactly. You take the life out of a peach tree, and put it in a pear tree, it'll bear peaches, because the life that's in the tree gives the evidence of it.

E-110 And there is how the Royal Seed; through Isaac come the natural seed, that rejected It. In the cross, from Ephraim to Manasseh, it was transferred, the blessing from the right hand to the left hand; or the left hand belonged to the left, the youngest to the oldest; through there turned the whole situation from the natural seed of Isaac's, which rejected Christ, and the natural church today which still rejects Him.

E-111 But the spiritual, Royal Seed of God that believes, the Royal Seed of Abraham which believes every Word of God, there is a confirmation of a living, resurrected Jesus Christ in them. Amen. Amen. Oh, my! See, the same thing it was, the whole Church much be relation.

E-112 When it was typed in the natural seed, look, Isaac and Rebekah were first cousins, blood relation, same fathers; see, fathers was brothers, made them blood cousins, the bride and the bridegroom.

E-113 And in Adam and Eve, it was all Adam, to begin with. God took a rib from his side and made a woman, and He took the feminish spirit out of Adam and put it in a woman.

E-114 Therefore when a woman acts masculine, there is some... there is a perversion there somewhere. And when a man wants to be a big sissy, there is something wrong somewhere. God made a man and dressed him like a man, and a woman like a woman. He ever remains them to be that way. Amen. When you see them doing something else, there is something wrong. It's perverted. And the whole thing has become a bunch of perverts. That's exactly right. The whole race, the whole generation, it's, "the whole thing is a putrefied sore," as the Bible said. There is hardly soundness anywhere. You know that's the truth. You can't find hardly any--any among them out... But go out on the street, it's hard to find a real man; sissies as I ever seen. And women, they wear trousers, cut their hair, wear lipstick, smoke cigarettes, try to be a man. What do you want to be a man for? You're supposed to be a lady.

E-115 I seen a sign, said, "Tables for ladies," in a barroom.

E-116 I said, "You never had a customer." A lady won't go to such a place. No, sir. No, a lady won't. A woman might, but not a lady. She won't go into such a place. But there you are, see.

E-117 God separated, cut. See, the Body, the Bride of Christ, has to come right back to the first. Now Eve was...

E-118 What was Eve? Her and Adam were the same. They were called Adam. They were spirit. When He formed man, the first time, He made him in His Own image. And God is a Spirit. "In the image of God created He him, male and female created He them." He was... and then still there was no man to till the soil. Then God formed man out of the dust of the earth and put this dual spirit into him, and that was the first Adam.

E-119 Then when He separated Eve from Adam, Eve fell by disbelieving the Word. That's right. That's where the church failed today, disbelieving the Word!

E-120 But in this case, to the Royal Seed, called, predestinated to Eternal Life, the Royal Seed of Abraham, they believe that Word. I don't care what comes or goes, how much they laugh, who says this, that, or the other; they are ordained to Eternal Life, and she goes right straight back. Her and her Lover, Christ, is one. The Life, the Spirit that's in Christ, is in the Church. That's the Eternal covenant here. See? God took the Spirit of Christ, tore it apart, at the sacrifice at Calvary; and took that Spirit, lifted up the body and set it on the right hand of the Throne of God and Majesty on High. That's, everything in Heaven is controlled by Him. And then the Spirit that was upon Him, come back; the same Spirit, not another Spirit, the same Spirit come upon Him, to confirm the covenant to the Royal Seed.

E-121 And in the last days we are supposed to see it, according to the Scripture. And before the Bride of Christ can ever be taken up, there has to be a ministry just dovetails that exactly. Amen. I'm so glad to say, tonight, and that I know that's the Truth. Amen. Dovetailing, confirming the covenant!

E-122 He confirmed it there, showed him what He was going to do, confirming the covenant. Any Bible scholar knows that's when He confirmed, the covenant, to Abraham. What was He doing? Showing in a figure, what He was going to do, with these sacrifices.

E-123 And now it's getting late, and I won't have time to divide these sacrifices. I'm going to have to maybe do that tomorrow night, but, notice, show what they, what these sacrifices meant. But, see, He confirmed it, showing that in the last days...

E-124 Now anyone that ever read ancient history, knows that that's the way they made a covenant. They wrote it, then tore it apart, and handed; one took one piece, and one another. They had to come back, over a sacrifice, make their sacrifice. That's what Abraham did to the... down in Gerar, and so forth, when he went there, where they offered the altar... offered up their sacrifice and made their agreements, and tore it apart like that. And God did the same thing, showing there that what He was going to do to A-...

E-125 The question was, "Where is--where is this Seed You promised me? Where? How am I going to be it? The people are laughing at me, saying, 'Abraham, father of nations, been fifteen years. Now you're eighty-five years old, or--or ninety. Where, where, where, where is all your children at? How many children you got now, father of nations?'" See, making fun of him. But he staggered not. He stayed right with it. "'Made fun,' said, 'Father of nations, now let's see, how many children do you have at this time?'" See, wanting to make fun, because he was holding to God's promises, believing that He is able to keep what He promised. He's--He's more than able. He's...

E-126 He can provide His Own sacrifice. He is Jehovah-Jireh. He can provide and make a way for what He promised. And He confirmed the covenant to him by showing him how He was going to do it, taking Christ and tearing the Life from Him, and send it down in the last days upon...

E-127 Now we'll finish that in the Scripture, this week, to prove that to you, that this covenant has to be confirmed with the Royal Seed of Abraham, which are the people out of the Gentiles, not Jews, "a people out of the Gentiles, for His Name's sake," taking it for His Name. The Church that's got His Name will come back into Him, because that's who She is, her Life.

E-128 Listen, when on the Day of Pentecost, when the Holy Ghost fell on the Day of Pentecost, the Life was given to the Church. And that Church that went right out and produced, they wrote behind that Church a Book of Acts, of what It did, because it has Christ in the apostles.

E-129 Now Jesus said, in Saint John 15, "I am the Vine, ye are the branches." Now, the Vine does not bear fruit. The branch bears fruit. It's energized by the Vine. Well, now, if that limb, first one come out on that tree, produced a Book of Acts; if that ever puts out another limb, it'll be the same Life.

E-130 A few months ago, I was standing with my good friend, John Sharrit, up at Phoenix. I live at Tucson, as you know. And so I was up to Phoenix, Brother John Sharrit, very fine Christian brother. And he was real, real poor, and the Lord has blessed him. And--and when I first went to Phoenix, years ago, he had no children. And--and he was wanted children. And--and they, poor, working out on the street, busting concrete, about twenty-five, thirty cents an hour. And he come down there, and he believed every Word of the Message. And he said, "Will you pray for me?" He's got five children now.

E-131 And that, on besides that, he gives around three to four million dollars every year to the cause of Christ. And that's right. I was with him here, not long ago, looking over his cotton farm. He bought a whole county, had fifteen hundred Mexicans taking care of it. And was, fifteen years ago was busting concrete, for twenty-five cents an hour.

E-132 He took me out in his great citrus grove. And I seen the funniest looking tree, there, I ever seen in my life. It was some kind of a tree, it had all kinds of fruit on it. And I looked, and it had oranges, it had lemons, it had grapefruits, it had tangerines, had tangelos. I think there was about nine different kinds of fruit, or ten. And I said, "What kind of a tree is that?"

E-133 "Oh," he said, "that's just a little experiment, Brother Branham."

E-134 I said, "Oh, I see." And I said, "They're all living on that one tree?" I said, "What kind of a tree is it, to begin with?"

E-135 He said, "It's an orange tree. That's a navel orange."

E-136 And I said, "It is?" I said, "What's these other fellows doing on there?"
And he said, "They're grafted into it."

E-137 I said, "Oh, I see." I said, "I understand." I said, "Now, now next year, everything will turn back in an orange, won't it?"

E-138 Said, "Oh, no." Said, "No, the lemon will bring forth a lemon." He said, "The... and the grapefruit will bring forth a grapefruit, and the tangerine will bring forth a tangerine."
I said, "Out of an orange tree?"
He said, "Yes, sir."
I said, "I don't see how it can do it."
Said, "It's all citrus fruit."
I said, "Well, praise the Lord! I see something."

E-139 Look! Oh, brother, when that Holy Spirit come up into that Vine, and produced from its Vine to the first branch, and they wrote a Book of Acts behind it. If that tree ever puts forth another original limb, she'll grow the same thing. It'll be Jesus Christ. Now we've got Methodist, Presbyterian, Baptist, Lutheran, everything else grafted into it, bearing denominational fruit; but if it ever puts forth another branch, she'll be a genuine, Christ-filled, Christ-centered Word of God.

E-140 And, remember, you remember The Bride Tree message. Many of you takes the tape. How that the husbandman come forth, and it was bearing the wrong kind of fruit, so he cut it off, cut it off, keep cutting it back, cutting it back. But Joel said, "What the palmerworm left, the caterpillar eaten; what the palmer-... caterpillar left, something else eaten." We find out them insects is the same insects, only in a different stage. And what the Lutheran left, the Methodist eaten; what the Methodist left, the Baptist eaten; what the Baptist left, the Pentecostals eaten. The whole thing is cut down.

E-141 But God said, "I will restore, saith the Lord, all the years. I'll send back another Church, in the last days. I will restore that original Power again. I... In the evening time, it shall be Light." Down in the heart of that tree, no matter how many branches is pruned, there will come forth the Royal Seed of Abraham! Hallelujah! God promised it. God will do it. He said He would do it. "I will restore all the years that the denominations eat. I will restore all the years. I've pruned the thing off, but yet there will come a Vine out of the heart of it. He'll be like a tree that's planted by the rivers of water, a man that meditates in the Word of God, day and night," not to a creed or a denomination, "but meditates in the Word, day and night. He'll be like a tree that's planted by the river of water; branches shall not wither. He'll bring forth his fruit in the season." God promised it.

E-142 God, tearing loose, oh, yeah, cutting apart, separating Himself, dividing Himself. He did the same thing on the Day of Pentecost, when the Holy Ghost come down. That Pillar of Fire come down, that followed Israel, we all know that was the Logos, that was Christ. And when It come down, on the Day of Pentecost, what did It do? It divided Itself, and tongues of Fire set upon each one of them. God dividing Himself among the people. Oh, brother, you can't be undivided, with the same Spirit that was in Christ.

E-143 "He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also. Greater than this, or more than this," the right translation "for I go unto the Father. Yet, a little while and the world seeth Me no more, yet you'll see Me, for I," personal pronoun, "I'll be with you, even in you, at the end time, the consummation." He promised to do it. The Seed of Abraham, He is here now. He's...

E-144 We're here, a few days ago, celebrating the resurrection of Him, that God raised Him up. We testify it. We sing it. And He might appear and do something that He did, just like He did before His resurrection, we'd call it, "a fortuneteller, a devil, a Beelzebub," shut it out from the church. What do we do that for? Has to fulfill the Scripture, that, in the Laodicean Age, the Word, which was Christ, was put on the outside, [Brother Branham knocks four times on the pulpit--Ed.] knocking at the door, trying to get some cooperation from somewhere, come in and make Himself known.

E-145 But there will come a branch out of There, just as certain as anything!

E-146 I said to Brother Sharrit, "Then what kind of a branch will it bring forth next year? Will it be an orange? Will it be a lemon? Will..."

E-147 "Yes, it'll be the original," he said. "When it brings forth a branch out of itself, it'll be an orange, just like it was at the beginning."

E-148 And when the real, living Seed of Abraham come up, that same Spirit was in Jesus Christ will live among them, every Word will be punctuated with a "amen." [Brother Branham knocks four times on the pulpit--Ed.] They believe It. Not, "This is inspired, and That's not inspired." They believe the whole Thing, 'cause It's the Word of God.

E-149 Do you believe It, tonight, with all your heart? [Congregation says, "Amen."--Ed.] I believe it.

E-150 I done preached here now till it got long time. Let's bow our heads just a minute. And I'll finish this tomorrow night. I promised I wouldn't keep you that late.

E-151 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and for a confirmed. It settled it with Abraham, when by faith he saw it, went right on, staggering not in unbelief. He staggered not. Now what about His royal Seed, we who claim, we Christians of this day, who claim to kiss the same cup that He drank from, having His same Spirit within us, and to see Him vindicate His promise of being here with us?

E-152 The promise, to make it fulfill, it's never been so in all the ages. We've never had it before. Search the history. Never did it appear. And where did It, supposed to go to in the last days? To the elect Church. Not to Babylon, not to Sodom; they had a messenger down there. But the Holy Spirit is the Messenger to the elect Church, tonight, God dwelling in human flesh, showing Himself, the Discerner, the Word that discerns the thoughts and intents of the heart. "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever." He is Jehovah-Jireh. He has already provided our Sacrifice, and is confirming His covenant. He is keeping His covenant, in the last days, with the people.

E-153 Friends, we could talk here all night. Things that's been said, there is enough said. There is people here that's sick; you need healing. Why don't you believe That? If I could heal you, I'd do it. Be praying. If I could heal you, I would do it. I cannot heal you. I'm... You notice, I'm giving the service, the first night or two, here, on praying for the sick. And that's not only for that. If there is any Seed here that's ordained to Life, the Holy Spirit will catch it. They'll see it. They'll know it. Now He's...

E-154 How many in here would raise your hands, before God, and say, "I believe it with all my heart, that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever; that He's arose from the dead, and He's alive among us tonight, showing Himself to be among us, and I believe it is of God"? Would you raise your hands, and say, "I truly believe it"?

E-155 Now, Heavenly Father, they're in Your hands. They are... They are claiming that they are the Seed of Abraham. They--they want, they--they want the blessings of God. And now I have told them, in this simple, little way. I started on my text, and didn't get to finish it. But, Father, they--they see here, in the confirmation to Abraham, that You confirmed the promise to him, give him the confirmation. Now if the--if the Spirit of Christ isn't in us, then we are nothing of Christ. And Christ's nature cannot be changed.

E-156 And He has well told us, and promises these things according to the Bible, in many place. Even the Old Testament promised it, in Malachi 4, that how it would be in the last days, "Would turn the hearts of the children back to the Faith of the fathers," as the pentecostal fathers, the original Doctrine of the Bible, the original Word, that what It would do. And there would be a sign, and this sign would confirm, be confirmed by the Voice that would follow it, that You are here. And we believe You.

E-157 Now, Father, may--may Satan make his way out. We--we do not believe that we have any power, Lord. We don't claim to have power. We claim to have authority.

E-158 We realize, the little policeman on the street, with a little cap sitting on his head. Of big cars sweeping down through them broadways, at ninety miles an hour, with three hundred horsepower motor, he hasn't got power to stop a one of them. They'd just crush him right down. But just let him show that badge, and lift his hands, brakes will squeal and tires will hum. It's authority. The whole city is behind him. He's got authority, not power. He may not weigh a hundred pounds, but he has got authority.

E-159 And that's the way it is tonight, Lord. We come to Satan, not with power, but with the authority, showing the Blood and the confirmation of the covenant. He has no right to hold these sick people, looking upon them and seeing them sweating it out, here.

E-160 O God, if there is some way I can just get the Message to them! If they could only see, Lord, just realize! Wake them up, Lord. One time now, tonight, let them see that You're the same God. You are confirming Your Word. You keep It just as You promised. In these last days, you said these things would happen, "When the Son of man is being revealed," that these things would take place. Grant it, Lord, and let them see that it's You. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

E-161 Now believe, friends. You're such a nice audience. I just run past my time, see, and I--I didn't mean to do that. I told them I... we'll be out on time, tonight, but I failed it because I... And I'll finish my text tomorrow night, maybe, the Lord willing.

E-162 Now here we are. You're people. We're all just human beings. We want to live. Everybody wants to live his time out. I believe God want us to do that. I--I do believe it. Now, it isn't because there is no Balm in Gilead.

E-163 You know, it was said one time, "Why, why is it? Is--is there no balm in Gilead?"

E-164 "Is there no prophet there?" Isaiah said, or, I mean Elijah said. "Go ask him, 'Is it because there is no prophet in Israel? Why do you go to Ekron up there, the god BaaE-zebub? Why, what, do you go up there?' Him being a Jew, 'Why do you go up there?'"

E-165 Said, "Is it because there is no balm in Gilead, there is no physician there? Is there? Is that the reason?"

E-166 Is that the reason? No, Sir. We've got Balm. The Holy Spirit is here. Yes, sir. The promise is ours. Now you've just got to believe it. You...

E-167 It's a day to where people's mind are so scattered, they don't... I feel sorry for them. They don't know what to believe. One says this, and one says that. "And let every man's word be a lie, and Mine be true," the Lord God said. That's right. Now He cannot change His nature.

E-168 Now, I believe last night we started prayer card one (wasn't it?), and called up to about twenty, or something like that. Huh? Let's just change that procedure. Let's not have any prayer cards at all. Yes, you just pray. You know, a prayer card just gets you up here.

E-169 But I feel His Presence, so I just know He is here. How many ever seen a picture of that Angel of the Lord? So help me, when I meet you at Judgment, It ain't two feet from where I'm standing right here. That's right. It's here.

E-170 Now somebody that hasn't got prayer cards, raise up your hand, say, "I haven't got prayer cards, and yet I'm sick and needy." Well, it's just everywhere. All right.

E-171 Now I'll tell you. What did that Angel do up there that time? He turned His back, had His back turned to Abraham. Which, I was going to get to, tonight, and didn't do it. And where He said, "It would be the same thing at the coming of the Lord, as it was at Sodom." We find out, He had His back turned to the tent. And Sarah laughed at what He said, because He told him. And she couldn't understand that that, just being a Man out there, eating the meat that she fried, drinking the milk from the cow, and eating its calf, and that was God.

E-172 The Bible said it was. Abraham said it was, "Elohim." That's right. "Elohim," God. He vanished right before Abraham. And, "God," called Him, "Lord God, Elohim, alE-sufficient One."

E-173 In the beginning, the same word is used. Any scholar knows that. "In the beginning God," look at the Hebrew, "Elohim."

E-174 Watch when Abraham said, "Lord God, Elohim," same Man, same Person, showing that God would manifest Himself in human flesh, to Abraham's Seed, to confirm the covenant, and do the same thing He did, (see it?) same thing He did there. He is always a prophet that discerns the thoughts and intents of the heart. Because, how many knows the Bible said that? "The Word of God discerns the thoughts that's in the heart." [Congregation says, "Amen."--Ed.]

E-175 Now if God will take at least three people in here, tonight. Now this is a challenge. If anybody don't think it's so, you come do it. If they don't, then don't say nothing about it. See? Now, notice, taking at least three people, (three is a confirmation), that's totally strangers, and if the Holy Spirit... If you'll just believe, that's all I ask you to believe, to do, is to believe that this Bible is the Truth, and we're living in the last days, and this is the promise for the last days.

E-176 Remember, Abraham, or no one else, seen any other sign until the promised Son came on the scene. Abraham seen all kinds of signs and things, up to that, but that was the last sign. He'll never break it; the continuity of God. The Seed of Abraham, that's their last sign. See? That was the last. God! He knew, right then, that was Elohim. And Jesus come right back and said it would be that way, and here we are right here today on it, the same thing.

E-177 People, this is Truth. I know, in doubt, you're a little born... He said, "Well, it's always been that way." He was born in a manger. There was hardly anyone would believe Him. But it's just those Seed that believe, that's ordained to Life, is all. "All the Father has given Me will come to Me." That's right. Don't have to worry, that. If their name is there, they'll see it. And how? They'll do it.

E-178 Now, see, just the idea, I--I could pray and lay hands upon you. I'm going to speak on that, especially on Sunday afternoon. But I--I want you to see that you can lay your hands on Him. "He is the High Priest that can be touched by the feeling of our infirmities." Do you believe that? [Congregation says, "Amen."--Ed.] You believe it. And now if He will do that...

E-179 I--I do know somebody here. I happened to look over, and I see two or three of my friends sitting right there, that's a minister, a couple of them there. And one with his head down, the Lord just healed his little boy, from concussion of the brain, yet, today, called me by telephone.

E-180 And--and another man there, and his little baby, the other night, they thought it was dead. And I was in Beaumont. And we called, went over. He laid his hands upon me, started crying, said, "Brother Branham, the Word of the Lord is with you. Just ask Him." At that very minute, the little baby come back to life, and started living again. There is the father sitting right there, a minister.

E-181 And this man, a car wrecked, and throwed him through the something or other, and over into a ditch, and concussed his little brain, and things. The Lord healed him, perfectly normal. They believed. They absolutely...

E-182 Now don't say I did it. I had nothing to do with it. Their faith in God, that's what did it. See? You have faith! All...

E-183 Jesus said, in Saint Mark 11:22, "Whatsoever thing! If you say to this mountain, 'Be moved,' and don't doubt in your heart, but believe that what you said will come to pass, you can have what you've said." But there it is, see. It's not a hope; it's a "know it."

E-184 And if He can prove Hisself alive, the One that made the promise can prove Hisself alive, and nothing else in the world can do it. Wake up! Shake yourself, real hard, your spirit. See? Nothing in the world can do it but God.

E-185 Now you can--you can judge it a evil one, if you want to. They judged Him evil, so they can still judge His spirit evil. They said, "He was a devil, doing that." Well, course, they got that reward.

E-186 You just believe. You can't heal. I can't heal. There is no man can heal. God is the healer.

E-187 But if you can just realize that the very One that you serve, and separated yourself from the world to serve, the very One that you love; the very One that's going to stand in the Judgment, you in the Judgment with Him, to be judged, if His Presence can come right here and show that He's here!

E-188 Now His corporal body can't do it. When that comes, time is over. "As the lightning cometh from the East unto the West, so shall the coming of the Son of man be." But, His Spirit!

E-189 And the Church has come, look how it's come up; through justification, sanctification, baptism of the Holy Spirit; and now right into the rapturing time, to get the Church ready. Just exactly the way it promised, just the way the Church Ages are lined out, and we seen that, everything coming right down, and right down.

E-190 Pentecost is the last organization. That's according to Scripture. It'll be last organization, rejected with the rest of them; that's why there's an organization. No organizations is accepted to God. It's a... It's individuals, is the ones accepted to God.

E-191 Now can't you believe His Presence now here? I'm just your brother, and now was sent, that God told me to come do this. Therefore, I believe Him. And if it wasn't written in the Word, for this age, I'd walk away from it. Anything that's not in that Word, I don't believe it. I--I wouldn't accept it. I don't say I wouldn't believe it, but I don't accept it; I don't understand it. But when it's in this Word, and a promise for this age, I understand it. Do you? [Congregation says, "Amen."--Ed.] May the Lord help us now. And you just... You reach up now, by faith, believe that in the... our presence... We're in His Presence, rather, now, is that same Jesus that made that promise.

E-192 And in the Bible here, the inspired Paul, who had the revelations in such abundance till he was made nervous, "And had trouble in the flesh, except he get exalted above the abundance of the revelations." See, he wrote the Bible, he was so inspired. He wrote the Books of the Bible. Like Moses, he was a prophet. So he, the Word come to him, and he wrote It, and was permitted into the Scriptures, sacred Writings. Now he was the one that--that--that says the... believes this, taught these things.

E-193 Now remember that Christ is risen from the dead and is among us. And get that in your mind, Christ raised from the dead and is among us.

E-194 Now, we have seen all kinds of great moves, and shouting and praising God; all fine. We've spoke in tongues and prophesied, and all. We've seen all that. That's fine. That comes right along with It.

E-195 But, remember, the last thing is His Divine Presence, the Word Itself. He is the Word. The Head, the Word, It's coming to the Body. See? And then that Word, in Hebrews the 4th chapter, said, "The Word of God is sharper, more powerful than a two-edged sword, and a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." Now take that Scripture and run it right back from the beginning of the prophets, run it right on down through Jesus Christ, and see if that isn't the same thing, the same thing, that He is known as the Messiah.

E-196 Now it's not some man here is the Messiah. It's the Holy Spirit is the Messiah. Christ and the Holy Spirit is the same thing, so here It is here now just working in the flesh, getting the Body ready for the rapturing grace. Believe it, friends.

E-198 If you're doubting, you--you, it's not good to stay very long, 'cause many people sitting here, no doubt, has seen what happens sometimes to unbelievers. It'll go from one to another, like it did in the Bible.

E-202 Do you believe me to be His servant, sir? If God can reveal to me what your trouble is, do you believe, you would believe me with all your heart, you'd believe it was God? Would you do it? Would you believe your healing would come? You have a prayer card? No, you don't have it. You don't need it. Your trouble is in your ear. If that's right, raise up your hand. It was in your ear; it isn't now, if you believe it. I don't know the man, never seen him.

E-203 Now here is a man sitting right next to you. He's kind of praying. He is praying for something wrong with him. Look at me, sir. You have a prayer card? [The brother says, "No."--Ed.] You don't. You believe me to be God's servant? ["Yes."] You believe what I've told you, the Truth? ["Yes, sir."] You believe it's the Presence of Jesus Christ? ["Yes, sir."] You believe your back is going to be all right from now on? You do? Raise up your hand. If you will believe! See?

E-204 Now ask the man. I never seen him in my life. He never touched me. He is twenty feet from me. What did he touch? That fulfills the Scripture. He touched the High Priest. He was sitting there, praying to be healed. See, he touched the High Priest that can be touched by the feeling of our infirmities. See?

E-205 Now, what do you think, young man sitting back there, a young fellow looking at me so straight? Do you believe God healed that kidney trouble you got? You do? Raise up your hand, if you believe it. You want to stop that habit you got, too, throw them cigarettes away? Wave your hand like this if you do. Then lay it down and forget it. Jesus Christ healed you. If thou canst believe!

E-206 Right across from you, there is sitting a lady with glasses on. She is suffering with nervous trouble. Do you believe that God will heal you, lady? Raise up your hand if you believe it. All right.

E-207 Will you do me a favor? There is a little lady sitting right next to you, is suffering with a female trouble, lady's trouble. That's right, lady. Raise up your hand, if that's so. Drainage. Lay your hand over on her, that she'll get well, 'cause she believes.

E-208 Say, then sitting next to her, one, two, there It's right over that other lady sitting right next to her. She is suffering with her legs, trouble with her legs. You believe that God will heal your legs? Raise up your hand. There you are. See?

E-209 You believe Him to be Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever? [Congregation says, "Amen."--Ed.]

E-210 You believe, sitting there? Right behind this man sitting here in front, the lady that's sitting here? Do you believe that God... You got two dangerous things. One of them is cancer; the other one, it's arthritis. You believe that God will heal you. If you will, raise up your hand and say, "I--I believe." All right, believe.
Do you believe? He is confirming the covenant.

E-211 Here is a lady sitting here looking at me, right behind this man. She has got on a red-looking dress of some sort. Red, up here; a sweater, it might be. She is too far; it's dim out there. After, see, that makes you so weak, the whole thing just begins to turn kind of a milky color around through the room.

E-212 But, there, stands up over her. See that Light? She is praying about something. If Jesus Christ will reveal to me what you're praying about, will you believe with all your heart? You will? I'm a stranger to you, and you're a stranger to me. But you got in contact with the High Priest, 'cause the signal that He gives me is right over you, see, see, the sign. I know it is.

E-213 You have a tremendous nervous trouble that you suffer with. And also you've got a goiter on the throat, that you're suffering with. If that's right, raise up your hand.
You say, "You can see that."

E-214 All right, you come... You're not from here. You come... You're not from this country here, this place. You come from Memphis. That's right.

E-215 The lady sitting next to you, she also come from Memphis. Do you believe with all your heart, lady? You believe that God can heal you? Do you believe me to be His prophet, or His servant? That stumbles people, see. You believe me to be His servant? You believe it's God that's what's doing this talking? You know I wouldn't know nothing about you. You believe it would be God then? All right. You believe with all your heart. And got, what you're suffering with, you got a... you got trouble with your throat, also. And another thing, you've got a knot, a growth in your side. Do you believe that God can tell me which side it's in? If it is, raise up your hand if I tell you the truth. It's in the right side. See? See? Do you believe God can tell me who you are? Will that help you? You are Mrs. Cox. That's right. See? Go back, see.

E-216 Do you believe? All of you believe now? [Congregation rejoices and says, "Amen."--Ed.] See, that's the confirming of the covenant to the Seed of Abraham, if you can believe! See?

E-217 Here, there is a little woman laying out here on the stretcher. Can you hear me, lady, laying on that stretcher? Yeah. I cannot heal you. I know nothing about you; you're just a stranger to me. But do you believe that Jesus Christ can reveal to me what your trouble is? Would that help you? Would, it would? If you lay there, you're going to die. You only have one chance to live, that's accept Christ. You have cancer. That is right. You believe that God will make you well now? You do? Raise up your hand if you believe it. All right. In your place, the only thing that you could do, would be rise up out of that bed; and take up what you're laying on, and go home, claiming your faith in God, as the Seed of Abraham. Rise up, in the Name of Jesus.
See, she raises up, to take her promise in God.

E-218 How many the rest of you believe it with all your heart now?

E-219 Stand up. You got strength; God will give you strength. Rise up, to your feet. There she is, up, off of the stretcher.

E-220 Now the rest of you wants to receive Jesus Christ, stand up on your feet. Stand up on your feet. Stand up, everywhere, accept Jesus Christ as your healer.

E-221 Lord Jesus, heal every one of them. Grant it, Lord.
