E-1 Guten Abend, meine Freunde! Ich bin glücklich heute Abend wieder hier zu sein... ein wenig müde. Bevor ich hierher kam, habe ich in Amerika sehr große Gottesdienste gehalten. So muß ich jetzt ein bißchen Ruhe haben, wenn jetzt wieder nach Hause gehe... wenn der Herr es gestattet. Aber wir sind sehr dankbar hier in der Schweiz sein zu können, bei euch lieben Leuten.
Ich glaube, wo immer ich auch gewesen bin hab ich nie nettere Menschen angetroffen als in der Schweiz. Ich meine das wirklich... ich das gar nicht sagen müssen... ich meine es wirklich ehrlich. Wir vertrauen, daß der Herr euch mächtig segnen wird und ich hoffe, daß ich euch so zum Segen sein werde wie ihr es mir gegenüber wart und irgendwann einmal in der Zukunft... wenn Gott es gestattet... kann ich vielleicht wiederkommen und länger bei euch bleiben. Noch zwei Abende werden wir haben, dann vermute ich, muß ich euch verlassen.
E-2 So geht es eben normalerweise: Gerade dann, wenn man die Leute liebgewonnen hat, dann muß man sich verabschieden. Aber ich hoffe, daß wir eines Tages alle dieselbe Sprache sprechen werden, daß wir nie alt werden, keine Krankheit, kein Tod. Da werden wir uns wiedersehen. Dann möchte ich jeden einzelnen von euch begrüßen... während Tausenden von Jahren werden wir genügend Zeit dazu haben. Dies ist der Tag, wo wir arbeiten müssen, solange es Tag ist. Die Nacht kommt, wo niemand wirken kann.
Da sind wieder viele Briefe und wir danken, daß ihr diesen Glauben an Gott habt. Damit niemand das mißverstehen kann: Das bedeutet nicht, daß ich irgendeine Kraft hätte, die ich in diese Briefe hineinlegen könnte. Wir befolgen einfach das Wort Gottes. Tausende von Zeugnissen habe ich zu Hause von Leuten, die auf diese Art geheilt worden sind. Gott ehrt Sein Wort.
E-3 Nun werden wir beten für sie und ich bete, daß Gott jedes einzelne segnen wird. Wollt ihr bitte eure Häupter beugen und mit mir beten? Gott wird auch eure Gebete hören.
E-4 Himmlischer Vater... ich bitte Dich, daß Du gnädig bist mit uns und wenn wir über diesen Taschentüchern beten, laß Dein Geist auf Dein Volk kommen, Vater. Wir wissen, daß in uns Menschen keine Kraft ist aber wir gehorchen einfach Deinem Wort. In der Schlange auf dem Stab in der Wüste war keine Kraft und auch in dem Stab selbst war keine Kraft. Aber die, die darauf schauten, die lebten, denn der Gehorsam gegenüber dem Worte Gottes heilte sie. Oh Gott, Schöpfer des Himmels und der Erde, laß es auch so geschehen mit diesen Tüchern, wenn diese den Kranken gebracht werden, laß sie doch alle geheilt werden. Wenn wir, als Deine Diener, Gnade finden in Deinen Augen, laß es so sein, Vater. Im Namen Jesu. Amen.
E-5 Gestern haben wir ein bißchen lange gemacht, ist mir gesagt worden. Gestern Abend sagte mir jemand aus unserem Team, daß viele Leute um 9:30 Uhr ihren Zug erreichen mußten. Es tut mir leid, daß ich euch zu lange aufgehalten habe. Das will ich ja nicht. Ich habe eben zu lange gesprochen. Vergebt mir bitte!
Wir lesen in 1. Moses 22 vom siebten Vers an dieses:
Da sprach Isaak zu seinem Vater Abraham: Mein Vater! Abraham antwortete: Hier bin ich mein Sohn. Und er sprach: Siehe, hier ist Feuer und Holz; wo ist aber das Schaf zum Brandopfer?
Abraham antwortete: Mein Sohn, Gott wird sich ersehen ein Schaf zum Brandopfer. Und gingen beide miteinander.
Und der 14. Vers:
Und Abraham hieß die Stätte: Der HERR sieht. Daher man noch heutigestages sagt: Auf dem Berge, da der HERR sieht.
E-6 Laßt uns wiederum unsere Häupter neigen. Allmächtiger Gott, Schöpfer des Himmels und der Erde, Geber aller guten geistlichen Gaben und Geber des ewigen Lebens, sende Deinen Segen auf Dein Wort. Beschneide die Lippen des Sprechenden und die Herzen der Hörenden, daß der Same Gottes in die Herzen falle und viele an den Herrn Jesus gläubig werden und geheilt werden von ihren Krankheiten. Wir bitten das im Namen Jesu. Amen.
[Br. Branham spricht zu jemandem auf dem Podium hinter sich: „Nun, ihr seht zu, daß ich nicht überziehe. Achtet für mich auf die Uhr.”] Ich habe meinen Brüdern gesagt, daß sie die Zeit für mich überwachen sollen.
E-7 Heute Abend sprechen wir wieder über Abraham. Ich liebe diese Persönlichkeiten der Bibel, denn das ganze Alte Testament war ein Schatten des neuen Testamentes. Alles was ihr dort seht deutet auf das Kreuz hin und seit dem deutet alles wieder zurück auf das Kreuz. In dem Kreuz ist der ganze Plan des Heils und der Heilung vollbracht für die Gläubigen.
Nun, gestern Abend haben wir mit Abraham aufgehört als er die Bestätigung des Vertrages gesehen hatte. Wir sahen wie Gott ihm eine Verheißung gegeben hatte und Abraham daran glaubte, obwohl der Vertrag nicht zuvor geschlossen wurde. Aber Er gab ihm eine Verheißung, und wenn ihr die Verheißung bekommen habt, dann habt ihr auch die Sache bekommen.
E-8 Wenn ich fragen [Bro Branham sagt dem Dolmetscher, “Haben Sie Eichel Bäumen hier sind? - Verf.] Wenn Sie mich fragen nach einer Eichel Baum, und ich habe Ihnen eine Eichel, haben Sie bereits eine Eichel Baum in einem Samen Form bekam. Und das ist, was wir versuchen, zu predigen das Wort aus der Bibel, denn das ist die Verheißung Gottes in Samenform.
Jesus sagte, daß das Wort Gottes ein Same ist der vom Sämann ausgesät wird. Und jede Verheißung Gottes wird in euren Herzen aufgenommen und wenn kein Unglaube damit vermischt wird dann wird es das hervorbringen wozu es gegeben wurde, denn es ist Gottes Verheißung. Haltet sie fest wie es Abraham tat und es wird erfüllt werden.
E-9 Nun zu euch, die hier in den Stühlen sitzen und in den Bahren... Gott liebt euch. Es ist egal was euch fehlt... Gott, wenn Er der Allmächtige ist, dann kann Er alles tun und wenn nicht, dann ist Er nicht der allmächtige Gott. Ich würde nicht hier stehen und zu euch sprechen, wenn ich nicht wüßte worüber ich spreche.
Wie ihr bemerkt habt, sind jeden Abend einige von ihren Bahren oder Rollstühlen aufgestanden... Gelähmte oder sonstige Kranke. Sie sind gesund herausgegangen, die Tauben hören und die Blinden sehen... die Zeichen des lebendigen Gottes. Seht ihr? Gott lebt. Gott hat die Erde niemals verlassen. Manchmal nimmt Er Seinen Mann hinweg aber niemals Seinen Geist. Er nahm Elia hinweg aber Sein Geist kam über Elisa. Mehrere hundert Jahre später kam Er auf Johannes, dem Täufer, und versprach in den letzten Tagen wiederzukommen. Gott hat es verheißen.
E-10 Nun, der Teufel nimmt seinen Mann und der Geist bleibt auf einem anderen Menschen. Jesus sagte den Pharisäern, weil sie Ihm nicht glaubten und weil Er nicht ihre Lehre vertrat: „Ihr seid vom Teufel, der euer Vater ist.” Und: „Welche euer Väter hat die Propheten nicht befolgt?” Der Geist bleibt hier auch wenn die Personen weg sind und die Auferstehung ist das Gericht.
Abraham war der erste, der in ein fremdes Land gehen sollte und so ist er auf die Verheißung Gottes hin gereist. Er trennte sich von all seinen weltlichen Verbündeten und ging alleine mit Gott, um Sein Freund zu sein.
E-11 Gestern Abend sahen wir, wie Gott den Vertrag bestätigte und wir haben ein herrliches Bild gesehen von dem was Er tat hindeutend auf Golgatha, wo Er seinen eigenen Sohn opfern werde. Dann sahen wir Ihn, wie Er Abraham wieder erscheint und ihm sagt, daß Er der Gebrüstete ist, so daß Abraham wie ein Säugling zu Ihm sein konnte und seine Kraft aus Seinem Busen saugen konnte, weil Abraham alt war. Er war schon 100 und Sarah 90 Jahre alt. Das waren 50 oder 40 Jahre nach den Wechseljahren. Er heiratete sie als sie noch ein kleines Mädchen war und er ein Jüngling und sie hatten in all diesen Jahren als Mann und Frau zusammengelebt. Als die Wechseljahre vorbeigingen, danach noch 40 Jahre und immer noch glaubten sie an die Verheißung Gottes. Das wunderbar!
E-12 Diese Art Glauben sollten wir alle haben. Streitet nicht darüber. Über die Bibel muß man nicht streiten. Die Bibel ist dafür da um gepredigt und gelebt zu werden. Jesus sagte: „Wenn Ich die Werke Meines Vaters nicht tue, dann glaubt Mir nicht. Aber wenn ich die Werke meines Vaters tue dann glaubt das Wort.” Wenn wir heute kein christliches Leben führen, dann sagen die Menschen mit Recht, daß wir keine Christen sind. Wenn aber Christus in euch ist, dann lebt Er Sein Leben in euch.
E-13 So wie Paulus sagte: „Es ist nicht mehr ich der lebt, sondern Christus in mir.” Und wenn Christus in einem Menschen lebt, dann lebt er sein Leben wie Christus es tat, als Er hier auf Erden war, weil Er es so sagte. Er sagte: „Noch ein kleine Weile und die Welt wird mich nicht mehr sehen, aber ihr werdet mich sehen. Denn Ich werde mit euch sein bis ans Ende der Welt und die Dinge die Ich tue sollt auch ihr tun.” Er ist von den Tote auferstanden und ist jetzt hier in derselben Kraft, die Er hatte als Er auf Erden war und tut dieselben Dinge, rettet dieselben Leute, heilt dieselben Krankheiten und zeigt dieselben Visionen.
E-14 Auch im Neuen Testament, als die Gemeinde gegründet wurde, sagte Petrus in seiner Predigt zu der Gemeinde, daß Gott gesagt hat: „In den letzten Tagen werde ich mein Geist ausgießen über alles Fleisch. Und eure Söhne und Töchter sollen prophezeien. Und eure jungen Männer sollen Visionen sehen.”
Gott hat verheißen, daß die Dinge, die Jesus tat in den letzten Tagen, wieder getan werden. Und an diesem Tag leben wir.
Jesus behauptete nicht ein großer Heiler zu sein. Er gab Gott alle Ehre und sagte: „Ich kann nichts aus mir heraus tun.”, als Er gefragt wurde, warum Er nicht all die Kranken heile.
E-15 Als Er an den Teich Bethesda ging, da lagen Tausende von Leuten, Lahme, Verkrüppelte, Gelähmte und Blinde. Er ging an ihnen vorbei, bis Er einen Mann fand der auf einer Trage lag. Er machte ihn gesund und den Rest ließ Er unbeachtet. Das wurde Er in Johannes 5:19 gefragt und Er sagte: „Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch: Der Sohn kann nichts von sich aus tun, sondern nur, was er den Vater tun sieht; denn was dieser tut, das tut gleicherweise auch der Sohn.”
Christus hatte Perfekt Glauben an Gott. Jesus war einfach nur der Leib und Gott war in Ihm. Die Bibel sagt, daß Gott in Christus war, der die Welt mit Sich selbst versöhnte.
E-16 Nun, nachdem Abraham die Verheißung empfangen und Gott sie bestätigt hatte, ist er weitergereist. Dann finden wir ihn in 1. Moses 18, nachdem sich Lot von ihm getrennt hatte und nach Sodom und Gomorrah ging, welches ein Typ auf die lauwarmen Gläubigen von heute ist, die die Welt und die Dinge dieser Welt lieben. Die Bibel sagt: „Wenn du die Welt oder die Dinge der Welt liebst, dann ist die Liebe Gottes nicht in dir.”
So ging Lot mit den Rückfälligen. Abraham aber blieb da, wo Gott ihn hingestellt hatte, denn er wußte: Gott hatte ihm verheißen, daß er alles erben werde.
E-17 Das Land war sehr arm und das Gras sehr dünn. Als Abraham eines Tages, unter einer Eiche sitzend, aufblickte, da sah er drei Männer. Einer von ihnen war der Allmächtige Gott selbst. Ich frage mich, warum Gott, staubbedeckt, dem Abraham in dieser Form erschienen ist. Abraham lud Ihn ein. Er tötete ein Kalb, kochte es und bereitete es mit Butter und Milch zu. Sarah ging hin und backte noch etwas Kuchen. Damit bewirtete er sie und der Allmächtige Gott aß diese Mahlzeit wie ein Mensch.
Könnt ihr euch vorstellen, was Gott dort tat? Er nahm eine Handvoll Atome, etwas Petroleum und das kosmische Licht, aus dem der menschliche Körper gemacht ist, tat alles zusammen und lebte darin. Es war eine Vorausschau dessen, was Er sowieso vorhatte zu sein. Denn Er wurde später manifestiert in dem Fleisch Jesu Christi.
E-18 Oh, er ist wunderbar. Einige herrlichen Tag, diese Körper von uns gehen zurück, wo sie herkommen. Aber wenn unser Geist mit Gott, bei der Auferstehung jeder wird wieder kommen.
Eines Tage kämmte ich mein Haar und meine Frau sagte: „Billy, du verlierst ja alle deine Haare.”
Ich sagte: „Aber Liebling, ich habe kein einziges davon verloren.”
Sie fragte: „Aber wo sind sie denn?”
Ich sagte: „Wo sind sie denn gewesen, bevor ich sie hatte? Dort warten sie nun auf mich bis zur Auferstehung.” Amen. Es gab die Zeit, wo sie noch nicht existierten, dann haben sie einige Zeit existiert. Nun existieren sie wieder nicht, aber gemäß der Bibel kommt die Zeit, wo sie wieder da sein werden.
E-19 Anderen Tag traf ich einen Arzt und sagte: „Doktor, ist es wahr, daß jedesmal wenn wir essen, bauen wir in unserem Körper Blutzellen auf, die für unser Wachstum sorgen?”
Er sagte: „Das ist wahr.”
Dann sagte ich: „Ich möchte Sie etwas fragen: Ich esse jetzt dieselbe Art der Mahlzeit, die ich aß als ich noch sechzehn Jahre alt war. Als ich sechzehn war und aß, da bin gewachsen, wurde stärker und größer. Jetzt aber esse ich dasselbe, vielleicht sogar besser und mehr davon, und trotzdem werde ich mit der Zeit älter und schwächer.” Ich sagte: „Erklären Sie das mal.” Es ist wissenschaftlich nicht zu erklären.
Wenn Wasser in diesem Glas ist und ihr gießt mehr hinein, dann wird es immer voller und voller. Kann es sein, wenn es einen gewissen Punkt erreicht und ihr gießt immer noch nach, daß das Glas leerer wird? Warum also ist es so? Weil Gott es gesagt hat... darum ist es so. Gott hat Seinen eigenen Weg. Es ist wie mit der Blume dort: sie wächst auf, kommt zur Reife [Blüte] und fängt dann an zu welken, aber sie kommt wieder.
E-20 Gott war in einem Körper als ihn Abraham dort traf, mit Ihm sprach und Ihm den Staub von Seinen Füßen abwusch. Die Bibel sagt, daß es Gott war. Und Er drehte sich mit dem Rücken zum Zelt und sagte: „Abraham, wo ist Sarah?”
„Sie ist im Zelt”, sagte er.
Er sagte: „Gemäß dem des Lebens, wie es mit den Frauen so ist, werde ich euch besuchen.”
Sarah hörte das und sie lachte, nicht laut aber in ihrem Herzen, als sie dieses vernahm. Die Bibel sagt, daß Er Seinen Rücken dem Zelt, in dem sich Sarah befand, zugewandt hatte und Er schaute Abraham an und sagte: „Warum hat Sarah gelacht?”
Seht ihr, was ich meine? Gott weiß alle Dinge. Er weiß, was du bist. Er weiß, was dir fehlt. Dieses war immer ein Zeichen Gottes gewesen: zu sehen, vorherzusehen und vorhersagen. Seht euch die Frau am Brunnen an, als Jesus ihr sagte, daß sie schon fünf Männer hatte. Sie sagte dann: „Ich weiß, wenn der Messias kommt, dann wird Er diese Dinge tun.” Sie glaubte, daß Er ein Prophet ist aber Er sagte ihr, daß Er der Sohn Gottes ist. Er ist derselbe auch heute. Das war der Sohn Gottes, ausgestellt [sich zeigend] in einem Leibe, der dort mit Abraham redete. Oh, ich hoffe ihr könnt das verstehen.
E-21 Nun beachtet! Dann sagte Gott, daß es im nächsten Monat passieren wird. Und im nächsten Monat war es auch so wie es mit den Frauen nun so ist, nachdem es schon 40 Jahre lang nicht mehr so war. Ich möchte, daß ihr auch eine andere kleine Sache beachtet. Ich weiß, meine Brüder, ihr werdet dieses kritisieren, aber ich möchte, daß ihr ein Moment lang stille seid und dieses dann überprüft, wenn ihr Zuhause seid. Beachtet was Gott mit Abraham tat, als Er ihm die Verheißung gab.
Wir alle wissen, daß mit Sarah etwas geschehen mußte, denn sie war ja fast 100 Jahre alt. Nun, wenn ihr die Bibel lest und wenn die einzige Erfahrung, die ihr habt, aus einer Schule oder einem Seminar stammt, dann fehlt euch etwas.
E-22 Hört, zuerst müßt ihr wiedergeboren werden aus dem Geist Gottes. Wenn du es nicht bist, wirst du das Wort Gottes nie verstehen... so hat es Gott gesagt.
Gott sagte nämlich: „Ich habe diese Bibel vor den Weisen und Klugen verborgen und werde es denen offenbaren, die daran glauben.” Wenn du etwas von Gott empfangen willst, dann sei [wie] ein Säugling. Öffne die Bibel und verliebe dich in Jesus.
E-23 Wenn meine Frau mir einen Brief schreibt, dann lese ich ihn. Und sie beginnt damit: „Lieber Billy, ich sitze hier heute Abend und denke viel an dich.” Das sagt sie auf dem Papier, aber ich kann sagen, was zwischen den Zeilen steht und was sie damit meint.
Ihr müßt in der Bibel auch zwischen den Zeilen lesen, denn Gott hat Es vor denen verborgen, die nur den Buchstaben lesen. Ich zitiere hier nur die Bibel, daß Er Es verborgen hat vor den Augen der Waisen und Klugen und wird es den Säuglingen offenbaren, die willens sind zu lernen. Alle, die es jemals in der Bibel gelesen haben, sagen [bitte] „Amen”. [Die Versammlung sagt: „Amen.”- Verf.] Denn es ist der Säugling, der sich demütigt. Seid nicht aufgeblasen sondern demütig und sagt: „Herr, ich glaube es.”
E-24 Ein Freund von mir, John Sproule, kam einmal auf Besuch herüber nach Frankreich. Ich glaube es war LaSalle, Lorrain. Er ging in einen Garten und dort war eine Statue von Jesus... [Hier hört leider das Tonband auf.]

Nun, gestern Abend haben wir mit Abraham aufgehört als er die Bestätigung des Vertrages gesehen hatte. Wir sahen wie Gott ihm eine Verheißung gegeben hatte und Abraham daran glaubte, obwohl der Vertrag nicht zuvor geschlossen wurde. Aber Er gab ihm eine Verheißung, und wenn ihr die Verheißung bekommen habt, dann habt ihr auch die Sache bekommen.
E-8 Wenn ich fragen [Bro Branham sagt dem Dolmetscher, “Haben Sie Eichel Bäumen hier sind? - Verf.] Wenn Sie mich fragen nach einer Eichel Baum, und ich habe Ihnen eine Eichel, haben Sie bereits eine Eichel Baum in einem Samen Form bekam. Und das ist, was wir versuchen, zu predigen das Wort aus der Bibel, denn das ist die Verheißung Gottes in Samenform.
Jesus sagte, daß das Wort Gottes ein Same ist der vom Sämann ausgesät wird. Und jede Verheißung Gottes wird in euren Herzen aufgenommen und wenn kein Unglaube damit vermischt wird dann wird es das hervorbringen wozu es gegeben wurde, denn es ist Gottes Verheißung. Haltet sie fest wie es Abraham tat und es wird erfüllt werden.
E-9 Nun zu euch, die hier in den Stühlen sitzen und in den Bahren... Gott liebt euch. Es ist egal was euch fehlt... Gott, wenn Er der Allmächtige ist, dann kann Er alles tun und wenn nicht, dann ist Er nicht der allmächtige Gott. Ich würde nicht hier stehen und zu euch sprechen, wenn ich nicht wüßte worüber ich spreche.
Wie ihr bemerkt habt, sind jeden Abend einige von ihren Bahren oder Rollstühlen aufgestanden... Gelähmte oder sonstige Kranke. Sie sind gesund herausgegangen, die Tauben hören und die Blinden sehen... die Zeichen des lebendigen Gottes. Seht ihr? Gott lebt. Gott hat die Erde niemals verlassen. Manchmal nimmt Er Seinen Mann hinweg aber niemals Seinen Geist. Er nahm Elia hinweg aber Sein Geist kam über Elisa. Mehrere hundert Jahre später kam Er auf Johannes, dem Täufer, und versprach in den letzten Tagen wiederzukommen. Gott hat es verheißen.
E-10 Nun, der Teufel nimmt seinen Mann und der Geist bleibt auf einem anderen Menschen. Jesus sagte den Pharisäern, weil sie Ihm nicht glaubten und weil Er nicht ihre Lehre vertrat: „Ihr seid vom Teufel, der euer Vater ist.” Und: „Welche euer Väter hat die Propheten nicht befolgt?” Der Geist bleibt hier auch wenn die Personen weg sind und die Auferstehung ist das Gericht.
Abraham war der erste, der in ein fremdes Land gehen sollte und so ist er auf die Verheißung Gottes hin gereist. Er trennte sich von all seinen weltlichen Verbündeten und ging alleine mit Gott, um Sein Freund zu sein.
E-11 Gestern Abend sahen wir, wie Gott den Vertrag bestätigte und wir haben ein herrliches Bild gesehen von dem was Er tat hindeutend auf Golgatha, wo Er seinen eigenen Sohn opfern werde. Dann sahen wir Ihn, wie Er Abraham wieder erscheint und ihm sagt, daß Er der Gebrüstete ist, so daß Abraham wie ein Säugling zu Ihm sein konnte und seine Kraft aus Seinem Busen saugen konnte, weil Abraham alt war. Er war schon 100 und Sarah 90 Jahre alt. Das waren 50 oder 40 Jahre nach den Wechseljahren. Er heiratete sie als sie noch ein kleines Mädchen war und er ein Jüngling und sie hatten in all diesen Jahren als Mann und Frau zusammengelebt. Als die Wechseljahre vorbeigingen, danach noch 40 Jahre und immer noch glaubten sie an die Verheißung Gottes. Das wunderbar!
E-12 Diese Art Glauben sollten wir alle haben. Streitet nicht darüber. Über die Bibel muß man nicht streiten. Die Bibel ist dafür da um gepredigt und gelebt zu werden. Jesus sagte: „Wenn Ich die Werke Meines Vaters nicht tue, dann glaubt Mir nicht. Aber wenn ich die Werke meines Vaters tue dann glaubt das Wort.” Wenn wir heute kein christliches Leben führen, dann sagen die Menschen mit Recht, daß wir keine Christen sind. Wenn aber Christus in euch ist, dann lebt Er Sein Leben in euch.
E-13 So wie Paulus sagte: „Es ist nicht mehr ich der lebt, sondern Christus in mir.” Und wenn Christus in einem Menschen lebt, dann lebt er sein Leben wie Christus es tat, als Er hier auf Erden war, weil Er es so sagte. Er sagte: „Noch ein kleine Weile und die Welt wird mich nicht mehr sehen, aber ihr werdet mich sehen. Denn Ich werde mit euch sein bis ans Ende der Welt und die Dinge die Ich tue sollt auch ihr tun.” Er ist von den Tote auferstanden und ist jetzt hier in derselben Kraft, die Er hatte als Er auf Erden war und tut dieselben Dinge, rettet dieselben Leute, heilt dieselben Krankheiten und zeigt dieselben Visionen.
E-14 Auch im Neuen Testament, als die Gemeinde gegründet wurde, sagte Petrus in seiner Predigt zu der Gemeinde, daß Gott gesagt hat: „In den letzten Tagen werde ich mein Geist ausgießen über alles Fleisch. Und eure Söhne und Töchter sollen prophezeien. Und eure jungen Männer sollen Visionen sehen.”
Gott hat verheißen, daß die Dinge, die Jesus tat in den letzten Tagen, wieder getan werden. Und an diesem Tag leben wir.
Jesus behauptete nicht ein großer Heiler zu sein. Er gab Gott alle Ehre und sagte: „Ich kann nichts aus mir heraus tun.”, als Er gefragt wurde, warum Er nicht all die Kranken heile.
E-15 Als Er an den Teich Bethesda ging, da lagen Tausende von Leuten, Lahme, Verkrüppelte, Gelähmte und Blinde. Er ging an ihnen vorbei, bis Er einen Mann fand der auf einer Trage lag. Er machte ihn gesund und den Rest ließ Er unbeachtet. Das wurde Er in Johannes 5:19 gefragt und Er sagte: „Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch: Der Sohn kann nichts von sich aus tun, sondern nur, was er den Vater tun sieht; denn was dieser tut, das tut gleicherweise auch der Sohn.”
Christus hatte Perfekt Glauben an Gott. Jesus war einfach nur der Leib und Gott war in Ihm. Die Bibel sagt, daß Gott in Christus war, der die Welt mit Sich selbst versöhnte.
E-16 Nun, nachdem Abraham die Verheißung empfangen und Gott sie bestätigt hatte, ist er weitergereist. Dann finden wir ihn in 1. Moses 18, nachdem sich Lot von ihm getrennt hatte und nach Sodom und Gomorrah ging, welches ein Typ auf die lauwarmen Gläubigen von heute ist, die die Welt und die Dinge dieser Welt lieben. Die Bibel sagt: „Wenn du die Welt oder die Dinge der Welt liebst, dann ist die Liebe Gottes nicht in dir.”
So ging Lot mit den Rückfälligen. Abraham aber blieb da, wo Gott ihn hingestellt hatte, denn er wußte: Gott hatte ihm verheißen, daß er alles erben werde.
E-17 Das Land war sehr arm und das Gras sehr dünn. Als Abraham eines Tages, unter einer Eiche sitzend, aufblickte, da sah er drei Männer. Einer von ihnen war der Allmächtige Gott selbst. Ich frage mich, warum Gott, staubbedeckt, dem Abraham in dieser Form erschienen ist. Abraham lud Ihn ein. Er tötete ein Kalb, kochte es und bereitete es mit Butter und Milch zu. Sarah ging hin und backte noch etwas Kuchen. Damit bewirtete er sie und der Allmächtige Gott aß diese Mahlzeit wie ein Mensch.
Könnt ihr euch vorstellen, was Gott dort tat? Er nahm eine Handvoll Atome, etwas Petroleum und das kosmische Licht, aus dem der menschliche Körper gemacht ist, tat alles zusammen und lebte darin. Es war eine Vorausschau dessen, was Er sowieso vorhatte zu sein. Denn Er wurde später manifestiert in dem Fleisch Jesu Christi.
E-18 Oh, er ist wunderbar. Einige herrlichen Tag, diese Körper von uns gehen zurück, wo sie herkommen. Aber wenn unser Geist mit Gott, bei der Auferstehung jeder wird wieder kommen.
Eines Tage kämmte ich mein Haar und meine Frau sagte: „Billy, du verlierst ja alle deine Haare.”
Ich sagte: „Aber Liebling, ich habe kein einziges davon verloren.”
Sie fragte: „Aber wo sind sie denn?”
Ich sagte: „Wo sind sie denn gewesen, bevor ich sie hatte? Dort warten sie nun auf mich bis zur Auferstehung.” Amen. Es gab die Zeit, wo sie noch nicht existierten, dann haben sie einige Zeit existiert. Nun existieren sie wieder nicht, aber gemäß der Bibel kommt die Zeit, wo sie wieder da sein werden.
E-19 Anderen Tag traf ich einen Arzt und sagte: „Doktor, ist es wahr, daß jedesmal wenn wir essen, bauen wir in unserem Körper Blutzellen auf, die für unser Wachstum sorgen?”
Er sagte: „Das ist wahr.”
Dann sagte ich: „Ich möchte Sie etwas fragen: Ich esse jetzt dieselbe Art der Mahlzeit, die ich aß als ich noch sechzehn Jahre alt war. Als ich sechzehn war und aß, da bin gewachsen, wurde stärker und größer. Jetzt aber esse ich dasselbe, vielleicht sogar besser und mehr davon, und trotzdem werde ich mit der Zeit älter und schwächer.” Ich sagte: „Erklären Sie das mal.” Es ist wissenschaftlich nicht zu erklären.
Wenn Wasser in diesem Glas ist und ihr gießt mehr hinein, dann wird es immer voller und voller. Kann es sein, wenn es einen gewissen Punkt erreicht und ihr gießt immer noch nach, daß das Glas leerer wird? Warum also ist es so? Weil Gott es gesagt hat... darum ist es so. Gott hat Seinen eigenen Weg. Es ist wie mit der Blume dort: sie wächst auf, kommt zur Reife [Blüte] und fängt dann an zu welken, aber sie kommt wieder.
E-20 Gott war in einem Körper als ihn Abraham dort traf, mit Ihm sprach und Ihm den Staub von Seinen Füßen abwusch. Die Bibel sagt, daß es Gott war. Und Er drehte sich mit dem Rücken zum Zelt und sagte: „Abraham, wo ist Sarah?”
„Sie ist im Zelt”, sagte er.
Er sagte: „Gemäß dem des Lebens, wie es mit den Frauen so ist, werde ich euch besuchen.”
Sarah hörte das und sie lachte, nicht laut aber in ihrem Herzen, als sie dieses vernahm. Die Bibel sagt, daß Er Seinen Rücken dem Zelt, in dem sich Sarah befand, zugewandt hatte und Er schaute Abraham an und sagte: „Warum hat Sarah gelacht?”
Seht ihr, was ich meine? Gott weiß alle Dinge. Er weiß, was du bist. Er weiß, was dir fehlt. Dieses war immer ein Zeichen Gottes gewesen: zu sehen, vorherzusehen und vorhersagen. Seht euch die Frau am Brunnen an, als Jesus ihr sagte, daß sie schon fünf Männer hatte. Sie sagte dann: „Ich weiß, wenn der Messias kommt, dann wird Er diese Dinge tun.” Sie glaubte, daß Er ein Prophet ist aber Er sagte ihr, daß Er der Sohn Gottes ist. Er ist derselbe auch heute. Das war der Sohn Gottes, ausgestellt [sich zeigend] in einem Leibe, der dort mit Abraham redete. Oh, ich hoffe ihr könnt das verstehen.
E-21 Nun beachtet! Dann sagte Gott, daß es im nächsten Monat passieren wird. Und im nächsten Monat war es auch so wie es mit den Frauen nun so ist, nachdem es schon 40 Jahre lang nicht mehr so war. Ich möchte, daß ihr auch eine andere kleine Sache beachtet. Ich weiß, meine Brüder, ihr werdet dieses kritisieren, aber ich möchte, daß ihr ein Moment lang stille seid und dieses dann überprüft, wenn ihr Zuhause seid. Beachtet was Gott mit Abraham tat, als Er ihm die Verheißung gab.
Wir alle wissen, daß mit Sarah etwas geschehen mußte, denn sie war ja fast 100 Jahre alt. Nun, wenn ihr die Bibel lest und wenn die einzige Erfahrung, die ihr habt, aus einer Schule oder einem Seminar stammt, dann fehlt euch etwas.
E-22 Hört, zuerst müßt ihr wiedergeboren werden aus dem Geist Gottes. Wenn du es nicht bist, wirst du das Wort Gottes nie verstehen... so hat es Gott gesagt.
Gott sagte nämlich: „Ich habe diese Bibel vor den Weisen und Klugen verborgen und werde es denen offenbaren, die daran glauben.” Wenn du etwas von Gott empfangen willst, dann sei [wie] ein Säugling. Öffne die Bibel und verliebe dich in Jesus.
E-23 Wenn meine Frau mir einen Brief schreibt, dann lese ich ihn. Und sie beginnt damit: „Lieber Billy, ich sitze hier heute Abend und denke viel an dich.” Das sagt sie auf dem Papier, aber ich kann sagen, was zwischen den Zeilen steht und was sie damit meint.
Ihr müßt in der Bibel auch zwischen den Zeilen lesen, denn Gott hat Es vor denen verborgen, die nur den Buchstaben lesen. Ich zitiere hier nur die Bibel, daß Er Es verborgen hat vor den Augen der Waisen und Klugen und wird es den Säuglingen offenbaren, die willens sind zu lernen. Alle, die es jemals in der Bibel gelesen haben, sagen [bitte] „Amen”. [Die Versammlung sagt: „Amen.”- Verf.] Denn es ist der Säugling, der sich demütigt. Seid nicht aufgeblasen sondern demütig und sagt: „Herr, ich glaube es.”
E-24 Ein Freund von mir, John Sproule, kam einmal auf Besuch herüber nach Frankreich. Ich glaube es war LaSalle, Lorrain. Er ging in einen Garten und dort war eine Statue von Jesus... [Hier hört leider das Tonband auf.]
E-1 Good evening friends. I am happy to be here again tonight. Just a little tired. I have just closed several great services before I left the U.S.A. So I'm going to take a little rest when I get home, if the Lord willing. But we are certainly thankful to be here in Switzerland among you fine people.
I believe of everywhere I've ever traveled, I have never seen nicer people than I've met in Switzerland. That is true. I mean that. I didn't have to say it, but I mean it from my heart. But we trust that the Lord will bless you mightily, and I hope I will be just as much blessing to you as you have been to me. And maybe sometime in the future, if God willing, I could come back again, maybe, and be with you longer. Just two more nights of the service, and then I have to go I suppose.
E-2 And that's usually the way it goes, just when you get acquainted with people, then you've got to say good bye. But I'm hoping someday where there'll--or we will all speak one language, we will never be old, no sickness, no death. We will meet again, and then I want an appointment with each one of you for a thousand years. We will have plenty of time then. This is the day; we must work while it is day. Night cometh when no man work.
Now, there's many letters here, and we are thankful that you have that faith in God. And now, that someone might misunderstand but this--these are not that we have anything we put on these letters, it's just obeying the Word of God. I have thousands of testimonies at home of people that's been healed this a way. God honored His Word.
E-3 Now, we're going to pray for them, and I pray that God will bless everyone. Could--would you bow your heads with me, and pray with me? God will hear your prayer, too.
E-4 Our heavenly Father...?... and as we are praying over these handkerchiefs, let Thy spirit come upon us. We realize that there's nothing in us as man, just obeying Your Word. There was no virtue in the serpent on the pole. Neither was there any virtue in the pole it hung on. But to they who looked they lived, for it was obedience to God's Word. O God, Creator of heavens and earth, may it be likewise with these, when these are brought to the sick, may every one of them be healed. If we Your servants have found grace in Your sight, let this be so, Father. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
E-5 We have just been holding a little too late at night, I understand. Last evening someone was telling me of our party, that many people had to catch a train at nine-thirty. I'm sorry that I held you late. I don't mean to do that, I--but I just run over time. Forgive me, please.
In Genesis 22, beginning with the 7th verse, we read this Scripture:
And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here I am, my son. He said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?
Abraham said, My son, God will provide a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.
Now, the 24th verse.
And Abraham called the name of the place Jehovah-jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the Lord you shall see it.
E-6 Shall we bow our heads again? Almighty God, Creator of heavens and earth, Giver of all good spiritual gifts, Author of Eternal Life, send Thy blessings upon Thy Word. Circumcise the lips that speak, and the hearts that hear, and may the seed of God fall into the hearts tonight, and many believe on the Lord Jesus, and be healed of their sickness. For we ask it in Jesus' Name. Amen.
Now, you watch for me that I won't be too long. Watch the time for me. I just said to the managers back there to watch the time for me.
E-7 We want to speak tonight again about Abraham. And I just love those old Bible characters, because all the Old Testament was a shadow of the New Testament. All things you see back there pointed to the cross, and all since then points back to the cross. So in the cross, all the plan of salvation and healing was finished there for believers.
Now, last night we left Abraham where he had made the--seen the confirmation of the covenant. How we find that God had give him a promise, and Abraham believed it, though He never give it to him just then, but He gave him the promise. So if you've got the promise, you've got it anyhow.
E-8 If I ask... (Do you have acorn trees here? Acorn trees here?) [Brother Branham speaks to the interpreter--Ed.] If you ask me for an acorn tree, and I give you an acorn, you've already got an acorn tree in a seed form. And that's what we try to preach the Word from the Bible, for that is the Promise of God in seed form.
Jesus said that the Word of God is Seed that a sower sowed. And any--any Divine promise of God will be received into your heart, no--no unbelief mixed with it, it'll produce just what it promised, for it's God's promise. Just hold on to it like Abraham did, and He will make it real to you.
E-9 Now, to you people that are along here, setting in these chairs and stretchers, God loves you. No matter what is wrong with you, God, if--if He's Almighty God, He can do all things, and if He cannot do all things, then He is not Almighty God. I would not stand here and speak to you, unless I knew what I was speaking of. I...
You notice, now every night there's someone raises from the stretcher or wheelchair, paralyzed, or something wrong with them. They go out well, the deaf hear, blind see, and signs of the living God. See, God is still alive. God never leaves the earth. Sometimes He takes His man, but never His Spirit. He took Elijah, and His spirit came upon Elijah. Several hundred years later, it came up on John the Baptist, and predicted to come again in the last days. God promised it.
E-10 Now, the devil, he takes his man, and it--the--the spirit remains here on someone else. Jesus said to the Pharisees, because they did not believe Him. He--they--He would not teach their doctrine. He said "You are of the devil, your father." Said, "Which one of your fathers has not persecuted the prophet?" See, the spirit remains here, and the--the person goes on. Then the resurrection is the judgment.
Now, Abraham was the first to go out in a strange country and--and sojourn just on the promise of God. But he separated himself from all his associates of the world, and walked alone with God to be a friend.
E-11 Last night we found out how that God confirmed the covenant, and we find the beautiful picture there of what He did at showing Calvary, where He was going to offer His own Son. Then we find Him appearing to Abraham again, and tell him He was the Breasted One, so that Abraham could be like a baby to Him, and just nurse from Him, strength, because Abraham was old. He was already a hundred years old, and Sarah was ninety. That was fifty years or forty years past menopause. He married her when she was a little girl, and he was just a young man. And they had lived together as husband and wife all of these years. Then when menopause ceased, then forty years passed, and they were still believing God's promise. That--that's wonderful.
E-12 That's the kind of faith that we all want. Do not argue about it. It's... The Bible is not to be argued. It... The Bible is to be preached and lived. Jesus said, "If I do not the works of My Father, then believe Me not. But if I do the works of My Father, then believe the Word." And today, if we don't live the Christian life, well then, would--people can say we're not Christians. But if Christ is in you, He lives His Life in you.
E-13 As Paul said, "It's no more me, but Christ that liveth in me." And if Christ lives in a man, He... Christ lives His Life like He did when He was here on earth, for He said so. He said, "A little while and the world won't see Me no more, but you shall see Me. For I will be with you to the end of the world. And the things that I do, so shall you do." And He's raised from the dead, and He's here now in the same power that He had when He was here on earth, doing the same thing, saving the same kind of people, healing the same kind of sick, showing the same kind of visions.
E-14 And over in the New Testament, and the--when the church was first inaugurated, Peter said in his sermon to the church, that God said, "In the last days I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh. And your sons and daughters shall prophesy. And your young men shall see visions." God has promised, the things that Jesus did would be done again in the last days. And we're living in that day.
Jesus did not claim to be a great Healer. He gave all praise to God. And He said, "I can do nothing in Myself." when He was questioned why He didn't heal all the sick people.
E-15 When He went out to the pool of Bethesda, there laid thousands of people, lame, twisted, and halt, and blind. He walked among them, till He found a man laying on a pallet. He made him well and left the rest of them. That's Saint John 5. And in the 19th verse, He is being questioned. He said, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, the Son can do nothing in Himself. But what He sees the Father doing, that doeth the Son likewise."
Christ had perfect faith in God. For Jesus is just the body, and God was in Him. The Bible says that God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself.
E-16 Now, Abraham, as he received the promise, he journeyed on, after he--God confirmed the promise to him. So we find him now in about the 18th chapter of Genesis, after Lot had separated himself; Lot went out into the Sodom and Gomorrah, a very beautiful type of lukewarm believers today that love the world and the things of the world. The Bible said, "If you love the world or the things of the world, the love of God's not even in you."
So Lot went down with the backsliders. But Abraham stayed out where God placed him, for he knew that God promised to him that he was going to heir the whole thing.
E-17 So the--the lands were poor. The herd probably was very thin. One day while Abraham was setting under the oak, he lifted up his eyes, and standing in front of him, stood three Men. And One of them was Almighty God Himself. I wonder why that God appeared in that form with dust over Him. Abraham invited Him in, and he went and killed a calf, cooked the meat, got some butter and some milk, and Sarah went and got some cake, and set them down before Them. And Almighty God eat food like a man.
Do you imagine what God did there. He just reached out and got a handful of atoms, and some petroleum, (petroleum, you know, oils and stuff) [Brother Branham speaks to the interpreter--Ed.], and got the--the cosmic light, what the human body's made up of, and put it together, and lived in it. It was a preview what He was--what He was going to be anyhow. For He was manifested in the flesh in Christ Jesus.
E-18 Oh, He's wonderful. Some glorious day these bodies of ours are going back where they come from. But if our spirit is right with God, at the resurrection every body will come back again.
The other day I--I was combing my hair, and my wife said, "Billy, you're losing most of your hair."
I said, "But, honey, I haven't lost a one of them."
She said, "Where are they at?"
I said, "Where was--where were they before I got them? They're there now waiting for me in the resurrection." Amen. They was one time they wasn't. Then there was a time they were. Now, there is a time they are not. But according to the Bible, there'll be a time when they'll be again.
E-19 I met a doctor the other day. I said, "Doctor, is it true every time we eat, we build blood--blood cells in our body that makes us grow?"
He said, "That is true."
I said, "I ask you a question. I'm eating the same kind of food now that I eat when I was sixteen. When I was sixteen, I eat the food, I grew, got stronger, bigger. And now, I eat the same food, perhaps better and more of it, and I'm getting older and weaker all the time." I said, "Explain that." It's not scientific.
If this glass has got water in it, and you pour more in it, it just keeps filling up, filling up. But why is it, it gets to a certain spot, and you keep pouring water in it, and it keeps going down? Because God has said. That's why. God has a way. Just like that flower, it started up; it come to its maturity, then it starts wilting away, but it comes back again.
E-20 Now, when God told Abraham when He met him there in a body, he had to wash the dust off of His feet. The Bible said that was God... And He turned His back to the tent; He said, "Abraham, where is Sarah?"
Said, "She's in the tent."
He said, "And according to life, as it is with women, I will visit you." And Sarah heard it. And when Sarah heard it, she laughed in her heart, not out loud. The Bible said that He had His back turned to the tent where Sarah was, and He looked at Abraham, said, "Why did Sarah laugh?"
See what I mean? God knows all things. He knows what you are. He knows what's wrong with you. That always been a sign of God...?... see, foresee, foretell. Look at the woman at the well, when Jesus told her she had five husbands. Why--why she said, "I know when Messiah cometh He will do these things," but she thought He was a prophet, but He told her He was the Son of God. And He's the same today. That was the Son of God back there with Abraham, exhibited in a body. Oh, I hope you see that.
E-21 Now notice, then God told that, that would be the next month then. And the next month it was with Sarah as it is with women, after it had ceased forty years. I want you to notice another little thing here. I know, my brethren, you're going to criticize this, but I want you just to be quiet for a moment, and look this over after you get home. Watch what God done to Abraham there, when He give him the promise.
Now, we all know that something had to happen to Sarah. She was nearly a hundred years old. Now, when you read the Bible, if the only experience you got come out of some school or some seminary, you lack something.
E-22 Listen, first you've got to be borned again of the Spirit of God. If you're not, you'll never understand the Word of God. God has said so. God said, "I have hid this Bible from the wise and prudent, and will reveal it to babes such as will believe." If you want to get anything from God, just be a baby. Open up the Bible. Fall in love with Jesus.
E-23 Now, when my wife writes me a letter, well, I read it. And she starts off, "Dear Billy, I am setting here tonight. I am thinking much about you." That's what she's saying on the paper, but I can tell what's between the lines, what she's reading.
The Bible, you must read between the lines, because God has hid It from those who just read the word alone. I am quoting Scripture that He has hid It from the eyes of the wise and prudent, and will reveal It to babes such as will learn. All that's ever read that in the Bible say, "Amen." [Congregation says, "Amen."--Ed.] Then it's the baby that'll humble himself, not be puffed up, but be humble, and say, "Lord, I believe It."
E-24 A friend of mine, John Sproule, he came over to France for a little visit. I believe it was Alsace Lorraine. And he walked into a garden, and there was a statue of Jesus...
I believe of everywhere I've ever traveled, I have never seen nicer people than I've met in Switzerland. That is true. I mean that. I didn't have to say it, but I mean it from my heart. But we trust that the Lord will bless you mightily, and I hope I will be just as much blessing to you as you have been to me. And maybe sometime in the future, if God willing, I could come back again, maybe, and be with you longer. Just two more nights of the service, and then I have to go I suppose.
E-2 And that's usually the way it goes, just when you get acquainted with people, then you've got to say good bye. But I'm hoping someday where there'll--or we will all speak one language, we will never be old, no sickness, no death. We will meet again, and then I want an appointment with each one of you for a thousand years. We will have plenty of time then. This is the day; we must work while it is day. Night cometh when no man work.
Now, there's many letters here, and we are thankful that you have that faith in God. And now, that someone might misunderstand but this--these are not that we have anything we put on these letters, it's just obeying the Word of God. I have thousands of testimonies at home of people that's been healed this a way. God honored His Word.
E-3 Now, we're going to pray for them, and I pray that God will bless everyone. Could--would you bow your heads with me, and pray with me? God will hear your prayer, too.
E-4 Our heavenly Father...?... and as we are praying over these handkerchiefs, let Thy spirit come upon us. We realize that there's nothing in us as man, just obeying Your Word. There was no virtue in the serpent on the pole. Neither was there any virtue in the pole it hung on. But to they who looked they lived, for it was obedience to God's Word. O God, Creator of heavens and earth, may it be likewise with these, when these are brought to the sick, may every one of them be healed. If we Your servants have found grace in Your sight, let this be so, Father. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
E-5 We have just been holding a little too late at night, I understand. Last evening someone was telling me of our party, that many people had to catch a train at nine-thirty. I'm sorry that I held you late. I don't mean to do that, I--but I just run over time. Forgive me, please.
In Genesis 22, beginning with the 7th verse, we read this Scripture:
And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here I am, my son. He said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?
Abraham said, My son, God will provide a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.
Now, the 24th verse.
And Abraham called the name of the place Jehovah-jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the Lord you shall see it.
E-6 Shall we bow our heads again? Almighty God, Creator of heavens and earth, Giver of all good spiritual gifts, Author of Eternal Life, send Thy blessings upon Thy Word. Circumcise the lips that speak, and the hearts that hear, and may the seed of God fall into the hearts tonight, and many believe on the Lord Jesus, and be healed of their sickness. For we ask it in Jesus' Name. Amen.

E-7 We want to speak tonight again about Abraham. And I just love those old Bible characters, because all the Old Testament was a shadow of the New Testament. All things you see back there pointed to the cross, and all since then points back to the cross. So in the cross, all the plan of salvation and healing was finished there for believers.
Now, last night we left Abraham where he had made the--seen the confirmation of the covenant. How we find that God had give him a promise, and Abraham believed it, though He never give it to him just then, but He gave him the promise. So if you've got the promise, you've got it anyhow.
E-8 If I ask... (Do you have acorn trees here? Acorn trees here?) [Brother Branham speaks to the interpreter--Ed.] If you ask me for an acorn tree, and I give you an acorn, you've already got an acorn tree in a seed form. And that's what we try to preach the Word from the Bible, for that is the Promise of God in seed form.
Jesus said that the Word of God is Seed that a sower sowed. And any--any Divine promise of God will be received into your heart, no--no unbelief mixed with it, it'll produce just what it promised, for it's God's promise. Just hold on to it like Abraham did, and He will make it real to you.
E-9 Now, to you people that are along here, setting in these chairs and stretchers, God loves you. No matter what is wrong with you, God, if--if He's Almighty God, He can do all things, and if He cannot do all things, then He is not Almighty God. I would not stand here and speak to you, unless I knew what I was speaking of. I...
You notice, now every night there's someone raises from the stretcher or wheelchair, paralyzed, or something wrong with them. They go out well, the deaf hear, blind see, and signs of the living God. See, God is still alive. God never leaves the earth. Sometimes He takes His man, but never His Spirit. He took Elijah, and His spirit came upon Elijah. Several hundred years later, it came up on John the Baptist, and predicted to come again in the last days. God promised it.
E-10 Now, the devil, he takes his man, and it--the--the spirit remains here on someone else. Jesus said to the Pharisees, because they did not believe Him. He--they--He would not teach their doctrine. He said "You are of the devil, your father." Said, "Which one of your fathers has not persecuted the prophet?" See, the spirit remains here, and the--the person goes on. Then the resurrection is the judgment.
Now, Abraham was the first to go out in a strange country and--and sojourn just on the promise of God. But he separated himself from all his associates of the world, and walked alone with God to be a friend.
E-11 Last night we found out how that God confirmed the covenant, and we find the beautiful picture there of what He did at showing Calvary, where He was going to offer His own Son. Then we find Him appearing to Abraham again, and tell him He was the Breasted One, so that Abraham could be like a baby to Him, and just nurse from Him, strength, because Abraham was old. He was already a hundred years old, and Sarah was ninety. That was fifty years or forty years past menopause. He married her when she was a little girl, and he was just a young man. And they had lived together as husband and wife all of these years. Then when menopause ceased, then forty years passed, and they were still believing God's promise. That--that's wonderful.
E-12 That's the kind of faith that we all want. Do not argue about it. It's... The Bible is not to be argued. It... The Bible is to be preached and lived. Jesus said, "If I do not the works of My Father, then believe Me not. But if I do the works of My Father, then believe the Word." And today, if we don't live the Christian life, well then, would--people can say we're not Christians. But if Christ is in you, He lives His Life in you.
E-13 As Paul said, "It's no more me, but Christ that liveth in me." And if Christ lives in a man, He... Christ lives His Life like He did when He was here on earth, for He said so. He said, "A little while and the world won't see Me no more, but you shall see Me. For I will be with you to the end of the world. And the things that I do, so shall you do." And He's raised from the dead, and He's here now in the same power that He had when He was here on earth, doing the same thing, saving the same kind of people, healing the same kind of sick, showing the same kind of visions.
E-14 And over in the New Testament, and the--when the church was first inaugurated, Peter said in his sermon to the church, that God said, "In the last days I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh. And your sons and daughters shall prophesy. And your young men shall see visions." God has promised, the things that Jesus did would be done again in the last days. And we're living in that day.
Jesus did not claim to be a great Healer. He gave all praise to God. And He said, "I can do nothing in Myself." when He was questioned why He didn't heal all the sick people.
E-15 When He went out to the pool of Bethesda, there laid thousands of people, lame, twisted, and halt, and blind. He walked among them, till He found a man laying on a pallet. He made him well and left the rest of them. That's Saint John 5. And in the 19th verse, He is being questioned. He said, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, the Son can do nothing in Himself. But what He sees the Father doing, that doeth the Son likewise."
Christ had perfect faith in God. For Jesus is just the body, and God was in Him. The Bible says that God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself.
E-16 Now, Abraham, as he received the promise, he journeyed on, after he--God confirmed the promise to him. So we find him now in about the 18th chapter of Genesis, after Lot had separated himself; Lot went out into the Sodom and Gomorrah, a very beautiful type of lukewarm believers today that love the world and the things of the world. The Bible said, "If you love the world or the things of the world, the love of God's not even in you."
So Lot went down with the backsliders. But Abraham stayed out where God placed him, for he knew that God promised to him that he was going to heir the whole thing.
E-17 So the--the lands were poor. The herd probably was very thin. One day while Abraham was setting under the oak, he lifted up his eyes, and standing in front of him, stood three Men. And One of them was Almighty God Himself. I wonder why that God appeared in that form with dust over Him. Abraham invited Him in, and he went and killed a calf, cooked the meat, got some butter and some milk, and Sarah went and got some cake, and set them down before Them. And Almighty God eat food like a man.
Do you imagine what God did there. He just reached out and got a handful of atoms, and some petroleum, (petroleum, you know, oils and stuff) [Brother Branham speaks to the interpreter--Ed.], and got the--the cosmic light, what the human body's made up of, and put it together, and lived in it. It was a preview what He was--what He was going to be anyhow. For He was manifested in the flesh in Christ Jesus.
E-18 Oh, He's wonderful. Some glorious day these bodies of ours are going back where they come from. But if our spirit is right with God, at the resurrection every body will come back again.
The other day I--I was combing my hair, and my wife said, "Billy, you're losing most of your hair."
I said, "But, honey, I haven't lost a one of them."
She said, "Where are they at?"
I said, "Where was--where were they before I got them? They're there now waiting for me in the resurrection." Amen. They was one time they wasn't. Then there was a time they were. Now, there is a time they are not. But according to the Bible, there'll be a time when they'll be again.
E-19 I met a doctor the other day. I said, "Doctor, is it true every time we eat, we build blood--blood cells in our body that makes us grow?"
He said, "That is true."
I said, "I ask you a question. I'm eating the same kind of food now that I eat when I was sixteen. When I was sixteen, I eat the food, I grew, got stronger, bigger. And now, I eat the same food, perhaps better and more of it, and I'm getting older and weaker all the time." I said, "Explain that." It's not scientific.
If this glass has got water in it, and you pour more in it, it just keeps filling up, filling up. But why is it, it gets to a certain spot, and you keep pouring water in it, and it keeps going down? Because God has said. That's why. God has a way. Just like that flower, it started up; it come to its maturity, then it starts wilting away, but it comes back again.
E-20 Now, when God told Abraham when He met him there in a body, he had to wash the dust off of His feet. The Bible said that was God... And He turned His back to the tent; He said, "Abraham, where is Sarah?"
Said, "She's in the tent."
He said, "And according to life, as it is with women, I will visit you." And Sarah heard it. And when Sarah heard it, she laughed in her heart, not out loud. The Bible said that He had His back turned to the tent where Sarah was, and He looked at Abraham, said, "Why did Sarah laugh?"
