E-8 Ich habe ein paar Schriftstellen und Notizen oder zwei hier aufgeschrieben, die ich gerne mit euch teilen möchte. Nun, eben bevor wir es tun, laßt uns noch einmal einen Augenblick beten.
Vater, wir bitten, daß Du Dein Wort nehmen möchtest, “Dein Wort ist die Wahrheit.” Und die Bibel sagt, Jesus sagt: “Das Wort ist ein Same, den ein Sämann säte.” Nun, wir erkennen, daß wenn ein Same ein guter Same ist, er keimfähig ist. Und wenn dieser Same ausgetragen worden ist, es ein Vorhaben in Gottes Willen ist, dann hinterläßt er einen keimfähigen Samen. Und als Jesus hier auf Erden war, war Er diese Weinrebe. Und der Same, den Er säte, war Sein Wort, und wir wissen, daß es keimfähig ist durch Sein eigenes Leben.
E-9 Und wir wissen, daß ein Same, wenn er in die richtige Art von Boden fällt; nicht auf Felsen, ohne Wurzel; auch nicht in Dornen und Disteln, welche ihn bald ersticken werden, sondern in guten reichen, fruchtbaren Glauben. Jeder Same wird nach seiner Art hervorbringen.
Und wir wissen, daß jeder Same oder Verheißung Gottes nach seiner Art hervorbringen wird, was es verheißen hat, wenn es den richtigen Boden trifft, den Boden, der vorbereitet ist, bereit ist; all die Steine herausgeworfen sind, und die Wurzeln, und die Bitterkeit und Selbstsucht und Gleichgültigkeit und Eifersucht, alles herausgerissen worden ist; diese Wurzel der Bitterkeit, die aufkommt, die manchmal so die Sache verdirbt, die Gott versucht zu tun. Wir beten, Gott, daß dieses nicht unter uns sein möge, sondern daß das gute Wort guten Boden in diesen finden möge.
Da wir diesem großen Patriarchen Abraham in der Lektion heute abend folgen, mögen wir unsere Position finden, wissend, daß wir Kinder Abrahams durch Glauben in Christus sind. Und dann empfange Ruhm und Ehre für Deinen eigenen Namen, denn wir bitten es in Jesu Christi Namen. Amen.
E-10 Wir werden heute abend ein wenig zurückschauen auf die Lektion, worüber wir gestern abend gesprochen haben. Das war, wir fanden den Anfang Abrahams in 1. Mose, dem 12. Kapitel. Tatsächlich wurde sein Name im 11. Kapitel genannt, als sein Vater von Babylon herunterkam, und sie wohnten in Ur, dem Land der Chaldäer.
Und dann finden wir auch, daß Gott Abraham rief, eben einen gewöhnlichen Mann mit Namen Abram. Er war noch nicht Abraham. Und Sara, “Sarai”, war noch nicht Sara. Wir finden, daß Sarai und Sara zwei verschiedene Namen waren. Und Abram und Abraham waren zwei verschiedene Namen.
E-11 Nun, in diesem finden wir, während wir ihn gestern abend bis zu der Bestätigung hinaufbrachten, daß Gott ihm den Bund bestätigte, wie Er Abraham beweisen würde, daß Er Seine Verheißung einhalten würde. Das finden wir in dem 15. Kapitel aus 1. Buch Mose. Und Abraham wurde herausgerufen am Abend, um ein Kalb oder eine junge Kuh herunterzunehmen und zu schlachten, und eine weibliche Ziege und einen Widder. Und wir gingen da gestern abend hinein, wie die zwei weiblichen und das männliche, und dann die zwei Tauben, oder Turteltaube und Taube, welches dieselbe Familie ist; und bekamen die Darstellung davon, daß dieses immer Heilung darstellte. Welches sich niemals geändert hat. Heilung ist immer durch Glauben gewesen. Aber die Versöhnung, sicherlich, wurde geteilt von einem tierischen Leben zu einem menschlichen Leben.
Nun, im Alten Testament, als der Anbeter mit Blut kam. Gott begegnet dem Menschen nur unter dem vergossenen Blut, der einzige Ort, an dem Er es je tat oder je tun wird. Er wird dir niemals mit deinem Glaubensbekenntnis begegnen. Er wird dir niemals mit deiner Schulung begegnen, Er wird dir unter dem Blut begegnen; das ist der einzige Ort. Das ganze Israel betete unter dem Blut an.
E-12 Und wir fanden dort ebenfalls was? Zurückliegend in der Geschichte, wie ein Bund von den Menschen gemacht wurde; und wir fanden heraus den Typ im Orient und die verschiedenen Arten, wie sie einen Bund machen. Und wie wir es heute machen, durch Händeschütteln und so weiter und sagen: “Siegel drauf!” Und die Japaner werfen Salz aufeinander als einen Bund.
Und beim Reisen rund um die Welt trefft ihr viel von der Welt immer noch in demselben Zustand an, wie es damals in jenen Tagen war; speziell im Orient und im Osten. Eure Bibel wird ein neues Buch, wenn ihr je zum Osten geht, hinten in Jerusalem, Palästina, dort hinten. Die Bibel ist geschrieben in... Wir sind ein englisches Volk hier drüben, und wenn die westlichen Menschen versuchen, ein englisches Buch zu verstehen, so ist es eine sehr schwere Sache. Wenn ihr nach dorthin zurückgeht, trefft ihr die Hochzeit und alles genau in derselben Weise an, wie sie es zu der Zeit Christi taten. Viele Dinge dort in ihren Bräuchen und Methoden haben sich nicht im Geringsten geändert.
E-13 Und nun in diesem finden wir, als sie diesen Bund in jenen Tagen machten, brachten sie es auf einem Stück Schafshaut heraus, oder Leder. Und dann töteten sie ein Tier und standen zwischen den Teilen. Und zerschnitten es, diesen ihren Bund in zwei Teile; rissen es in zwei Stücke wie dieses und gaben ihr Wort. [Bruder Branham zerreißt ein Stück Papier in zwei Teile.] Und wenn sie zusammenkommen, muß dieses genau mit dem anderen zusammenpassen. Es mußte zusammenstoßen, Stück mit Stück, so konnte es nicht verdoppelt werden. Darauf fanden wir dann gestern abend in unserer Lektion, was Gott tat, um Abraham Seinen Bund zu bestätigen.
E-14 Nun, Abraham, die Verheißung wurde zu Abraham und seinem Samen nach ihm gemacht. Nicht nur Abraham, sondern seinem Samen. Nun, nun, der Same, natürlicher Same Abrahams war Isaak; aber der geistliche Same von Abrahams Glauben war Christus. Nicht durch Isaak wurde die ganze Welt gesegnet, sondern durch Christus, den Königlichen Samen wurde die ganze Welt gesegnet, denn Er starb für alle Menschen, alle Nationen und alle Völker.
E-15 Nun, wir sehen in diesem ebenfalls, in diesem Bund, daß Er dort zeigte, was Er tun würde, wie Gott Christus Jesus zerreißen würde. Und der Leib wurde auferweckt und sitzt zur rechten Hand Gottes und der Majestät in der Höhe, und der Geist von Christus wurde hinuntergebracht auf die Erde.
Nun, wenn wir Zeit hätten, könntet ihr das beweisen. Irgend etwas, ein Teil der Schrift sagt es, es geht durch die ganze Bibel hindurch. Wenn es nicht so ist, dann ist da etwas verkehrt. Das Alte Testament war eben ein Schatten des Neuen, schattete es vor. Dann, wenn ihr den Schatten bekommt, könnt ihr ganz gut sagen, was das Neue ist. So, das ist es, wo er war, ist und sein wird.
E-16 Nun, dieser Geist von Christus kam zurück auf die Gemeinde, genau erfüllt wiederum in Johannes 15, wo Er sagte: „Ich bin der Weinstock, ihr seid die Reben.” Und dann nochmals, Johannes 14,12: “Wer an Mich glaubt, wird die Werke, die Ich tue, auch tun,” dieselben Werke, dieselbe Sache. Weiterhin durch die Schrift! “Wenn ihr in Mir bleibt, und Meine Worte in euch, dann bittet was ihr wollt, es wird euch gegeben werden.” Viele Dinge, die Christus...
„Eine kleine Weile, und die Welt sieht Mich nicht mehr. Die Welt”, dort das griechische Wort Kosmos, was bedeutet: Weltordnung, “sieht Mich nicht mehr. Aber ihr sollt Mich sehen, denn Ich”, Ich ist ein persönliches Fürwort, “Ich werde mit euch sein, sogar in euch bis an das Ende der Welt”, welches ergibt Jesus Christus Derselbe gestern, heute und für immer. Er verbleibt. Er stand von den Toten auf. “Die Welt, die Ungläubigen, werden Mich nicht sehen.” Sie werden es nicht anerkennen. Aber die Gläubigen werden Ihn erkennen, weil Er derselbe Jesus ist, der Er immer war. Er hat Sich nicht geändert. “Derselbe gestern, heute und für immer!”
E-17 Und nun, dieses Wort, viele Menschen versuchen, es für etwas zu halten, was nicht inspiriert ist. Nun, ich möchte hier jetzt etwas sagen, es kam mir gerade in den Sinn.
E-18 Und ich glaube nicht, daß das Podium gemacht wurde, um Scherze zu machen. Dieses ist kein Ort, um Scherze zu machen. Dieses ist Aufrichtigkeit. Und während wir den Tag des Herrn erscheinen sehen, sollten wir um so aufrichtiger sein.
Aber es gab vor einiger Zeit eine Geschichte von einem jungen Burschen, der... Es war in Boston, und er ging weg. Er hatte eine feine Mutter, zu allererst, um damit die Geschichte anzufangen, und die Mutter wußte gewiß, daß ihr Junge einen Ruf in seinem Leben hatte, dem Herrn zu dienen. Und das würde jeder Mutter helfen, sollte jeder wirklichen Mutter helfen zu wissen, daß ihr Sohn... daß Gott sie beehrt hatte mit einem Kind, das das Evangelium predigen wird. Das sollte einen Wert haben für das Leben jeder Mutter. Und so die arme Mutter, die versuchte, alles zu tun, was sie konnte, sie sandte ihn weg zur Schule, zu einem Seminar, um seinen B.A.-Titel zu bekommen.
E-19 Und so, während er weg war, wurde die Mutter ernsthaft krank. Und so riefen sie, wie jeder Christ es tun würde, sie riefen den Arzt. Und der Arzt... Sie hatte eine doppelte Lungenentzündung. Und der Arzt versuchte alles, was er für sie tun konnte, um die Lungenentzündung zu hemmen, aber es gab nichts. Er hatte ihr Drogen von Schwefel und Penicillin und so weiter gegeben, um den Bazillus zu töten, und es hatte nicht gewirkt. Der Mutter ging es beständig schlechter. So gaben sie ihrem Sohn Nachricht, welcher weit weg in Asbury, Kentucky, war, im Wilmore College, daß er sie besuchen sollte, weil sie im Sterben lag. Und dann am nächsten Morgen, als der Junge sich fertigmachte zur Abreise, erhielten sie ein Telegramm: “Deiner Mutter geht es viel besser. Warte auf weitere Nachricht.”
E-20 Ungefähr ein Jahr später hatte die Frau das Vorrecht, ihren Sohn zu sehen. Er kam nach Hause in Ferien und war eine Zeitlang aus seiner Schule. Und er sagte: “Mutter, ich habe gehört, daß es mit dir gut geworden ist”, nachdem sie eine kurze Zeit der Gemeinschaft miteinander gehabt haben, wie Sohn und Mutter es haben würden. Er sagte, “Ich habe niemals begriffen, welches Medikament der Arzt geändert hat, was deinen Zustand so schnell verbessert hat.”
Und sie sagte: “Sohn, das war es nicht.” Sie sagte: “Weißt du, wo diese kleine Mission hier unten an der Straße ist, die Leute unten, die... ”
Er sagte: “Ja, ich erinnere mich.”
Sie sagte: “Dort ist eine Dame, die sagte, daß sie sich geleitet fühlte, hier hinaufzukommen, und mich zu fragen, ob der Pastor kommen könnte, um für mich zu beten. Und so sagte ich ihr, daß es in Ordnung wäre.” So sagte sie: “Der Pastor kam herauf und las es aus der Bibel vor, 'Wenn jemand unter euch krank ist, der rufe die Ältesten, und salbe sie mit Öl und bete über ihnen, und das Gebet des Glaubens wird dem Kranken helfen.'” Und sie sagte: “Weißt du, er las das aus der Schrift, und er betete für mich und salbte mich mit Öl. Und am nächsten Morgen ging es mir so viel besser, daß der Arzt mir erlaubte, mich aufzusetzen. In einigen Tagen war ich in Ordnung.” “Nun”, sagte er. “O Preis dem Herrn!” sagte sie, “Sohn, du solltest... ”
E-21 Er sagte: “Mutter, du fängst an, dich wie diese Leute zu benehmen.” Er sagte: “Höre, Mutter, wir haben auf der Schule gelernt, daß die Stelle, die er dort las, die zweite Schriftstelle, die er las aus Markus 16, wo steht, 'Diese Zeichen werden denen folgen, die da glauben. Auf Kranke werden sie Hände legen, und es wird besser mit ihnen.'” Er sagte: “Wir lernten dort oben in der Schule, daß Markus 16 vom 9. Vers an nicht inspiriert ist. Du siehst, jene Leute gehen nicht auf die Schule, die meisten von ihnen dort unten. Sie sind ungebildet, so etwas wie ungebildete Leute. Sie meinen es gut, ohne Zweifel”, aber er sagte, “wir lernten auf der Schule, daß das vom 9. Vers an einfach hinzugefügt worden ist, vielleicht durch den Vatikan oder so etwas, aber”, sagte er, “deshalb ist dieser Teil nicht inspiriert.”
Die kleine Mutter ließ ein starkes “Halleluja!” heraus. Und so sagte sie...
Er sagte: “Mutter, nun, wieso sagst du das?”
„Ich dachte gerade, Sohn, wenn Gott mich durch das uninspirierte Wort heilte, was könnte Er wirklich tun mit dem, was tatsächlich inspiriert ist?”
E-22 Solches sind die anderen Verheißungen: “Bittet irgend etwas in Meinem Namen, so werde Ich es tun.” “Wenn ihr zu diesem Berge sprecht: 'Hebe dich', und zweifelt nicht in euren Herzen, sondern glaubt, daß das, was ihr gesagt habt, geschieht, dann könnt ihr haben, was ihr gesagt habt.” “Wenn ihr betet, glaubt, daß ihr empfangt, worum ihr gebeten habt, und es wird euch gegeben werden.” Seht, es ist alles inspiriert, jedes bißchen davon.
E-23 Als Morris Reedhead, ein sehr feiner Gelehrter, in mein Haus kam. Er empfing die Taufe des Heiligen Geistes; fiel quer über einen kleinen Kaffeetisch in dem Haus. Er sagte: “Bruder Branham, ich verstehe, daß du ein Baptist bist.”
Und ich sagte, “Nun, ich wurde einfach in der Missionarischen Baptistengemeinde ordiniert als Junge; ich gehöre nicht zu... ”
Er sagte: “Gut, was ist mit diesen Pfingstlern, mit denen du herumhängst?”
Ich sagte: “Sie sind einfach Menschen wie du und ich.”
Er sagte: “Gut, hör mal”, er sagte, “glaubst du, daß es der Heilige Geist ist, den sie empfangen haben?”
Ich sagte: “Sicher.”
Er sagte: “Warum all dieses Treten und Stampfen und Schreien?”
Ich sagte: “Nun, sie müssen den Dampf aus der Kehle blasen. Wenn sie es nicht anwenden, um die Räder zum Laufen zu bringen.” Ich sagte: “Bekomme sie jemals dazu, daß sie lernen, was es alles damit auf sich hat, anstatt es einfach auf diese Weise auszublasen. Laß es arbeiten, durch Glauben auf die Straße zu gehen und zu versuchen, Leute in das Königreich Gottes hineinzubekommen.”
E-24 Und er sagte: “Nun, ich habe sie dieses alles tun sehen.” Er sagte: “Ich werde dir sagen, warum ich hier bin. Ein feiner Junge aus Indien”, sagte er, “er bekam seine Ausbildung und Schulung.” Er sagte: “Ich, als ich abreisen wollte, ihn zum Flugzeug bringen wollte, um ihn da hineinzusetzen, daß er wieder zurück nach Übersee käme, sagte ich zu ihm: 'Sohn, jetzt hast du deine Ausbildung und gehst wieder zu deinem Volk...'” Ich glaube, er studiert Elektronik.
Dann sagte er, als er aufbrach: “Warum verläßt du nicht diesen alten toten Propheten Mohammed und nimmst einen tatsächlichen auferstandenen Jesus Christus in dein Herz hinein?”
Und er sagte: “Herr, ich möchte dir etwas sagen.”
E-25 Nun, denkt daran, dieses ist von einer der größten Bibelschulen, fundamentalen Schulen, dieser Bursche war einer ihrer Lehrer.
Er sagte: “Was könnte euer Jesus für mich irgend mehr tun als mein Prophet tun kann?”
Er sagte: “Nun”, sagte er, “mein Jesus kann dir Ewiges Leben geben.”
Er sagte: “My, der Koran verspricht dieselbe Sache.” Der Koran ist die Bibel für den Mohammedaner, wißt ihr. Er sagte, “Er verheißt dieselbe Sache.” Er sagte: “Nun”, sagte er, “yea, ich... ”
Er sagte: “Weißt du, der Koran hat nichts verheißen, Mohammed verhieß nichts als Leben nach dem Tod.” Er sagte: “Jesus verhieß euch Lehrern, daß 'diese Zeichen und Wunder folgen werden.'” Er sagte: “Das ist es, was Jesus sagte.” Und er sagte: “Wir warten darauf, daß wir das getan sehen, daß ihr Lehrer es hervorbringt.” Denkt darüber nach!
E-26 Er sagte zu mir: “Gerade dann erkannte ich, daß ich keinem Neuling begegnet war. Ich hatte einen erlebt, der wußte, wovon er sprach.” Er mag einen gegen den anderen ausgespielt haben. Aber das ist eine gute Art, es zu tun, laßt euch den Feind einmal so anspringen, dann wird er wissen, wohin er geht. Seht? So sagte er: “Ich erkannte, daß das kein Neuling war.”
Und er sagte: “Nun, sieh her. Jesus ist von den Toten auferstanden.”
Er sagte: “Ist er? Ihr habt 2000 Jahre gehabt, um es zu beweisen, und fast zwei Drittel der Erde haben niemals von ihm gehört. Nun, was ist mit euch Leuten los?” Er sagte: “Laß Mohammed von den Toten auferstehen, und die ganze Welt wüßte es innerhalb von 24 Stunden.” Und das ist wahr.
E-27 Seht, sie haben ein Pferd, das an seinem Grab steht. Ich habe es dort gesehen. Sie wechseln die Wachposten ungefähr alle vier Stunden, sie erwarten immer noch, daß er aufersteht. Im Symbol dort, auf einem weißen Pferd kommend, um die Welt zu erobern.
Und so sagte er: “Laß ihn von den Toten auferstehen, und die ganze Welt wird es wissen.”
Er sagte: “Gut, Jesus stand von den Toten auf. Euer Prophet ist im Grab.”
Er sagte: “Wieso weißt du, daß er von den Toten auferstanden ist?”
Der Lehrer sagte: “Er ist in meinem Herzen.”
Er sagte: “Mohammed ist auch in meinem Herzen, Herr.”
Er sagte: “Aber ich habe Freude und Frieden.”
Er sagte: “Herr, Mohammedismus kann genausoviel Psychologie produzieren wie es Christentum machen kann.” Und sie tun es. Ihr solltet sie mal jauchzen und schreien hören. Das stimmt. “Sie produzieren genau so viel Psychologie wie Christentum es kann.” Er sagte: “Gut, was meinst du, als du sagtest, daß Jesus euch all diese Dinge verheißen hat? Ich vermute, daß du dich auf Markus 16 beziehst?”
Er sagte: “Ja, das ist eine von ihnen. Das sind nicht alle, sondern das ist eine.”
E-28 „Jesus sagte, die letzten Worte, die er zu Seiner Gemeinde sagte: 'Geht in alle Welt, seht, und predigt das Evangelium, und diese Zeichen werden den Gläubigen folgen.' Wie weit? Die ganze Welt; jede Kreatur. 'Wenn sie ihre Hände auf die Kranken legen, so wird es besser mit ihnen.' Die letzten Worte, die er sagte, gemäß deiner Schrift.”
Er sagte: “Nun, siehst du, das ist nur... ” Er sagte: “Siehst du, dieser Teil ist nicht inspiriert.” Er sagte: “Er hat das nicht wirklich gemeint. Das war nicht... ”
E-29 Er sagte: “Es ist nicht inspiriert?” Sagte: “Was für ein Buch liest du?” Sagte: “Der ganze Koran ist inspiriert.” Hum! [Bruder Branham klatscht in seine Hände.] Es ist eine Niederlage der Schwäche der Theologie, eine menschengemachte Theologie, die nicht den Geist bekommen hat, um aufzustehen und dieser Sache zu begegnen.
Wie die Hebräer-Kinder sagten: “Unser Gott ist imstande, uns von diesem feurigen Ofen zu befreien, aber nichtsdestoweniger werden wir uns nicht vor diesem Bildnis beugen.” Wir brauchen Menschen mit Mut. Männer, die Gott geglaubt haben, sind immer mutig gewesen und glaubten an das Übernatürliche. Männer, die Gott glauben!
E-30 Herr Reedhead sagte: “Ich scharrte auf dem Boden herum, Bruder Branham, trat auf diese Weise den Staub, und ich konnte dem Mann nicht antworten.” Er sagte: “Ich setzte mir vor in meinem Herzen, dich zu besuchen nach diesem und zu fragen, was es alles auf sich hatte.” Und er sagte: “Hier bin ich. Wenn der Heilige Geist... ”
Er sagte: “Bruder Branham, meine Mutter sandte mich zur Schule.” Und er sagte: “Ich, als ich mein BA bekam, dachte ich, da ist genau... ”
Ich sagte: “Ich weiß, was du meinst.”
Er sagte: “Dann eines Tages bekam ich meinen B.A.-Titel, und ich dachte, daß ich Christus dort finden würde. Er war nicht da als ich meine Doktorauszeichnung bekam.” Er sagte: “Ich habe genug Auszeichnungen bekommen, Doktorwürden, um damit meine Wände zu pflastern, und wo ist Christus in all denen?”
Ich sagte: “Wer bin ich, um zu sagen, daß die Lehrer verkehrt sind? Aber das ist es nicht, worüber wir sprechen. Es ist die Person, Christus, die du kennen mußt.”
Jetzt hält der Mann überall große Feldzüge. Und Dr. Lee Vayle dort, ein guter Freund von mir, ist ebenfalls sein Freund. Und er hat große Erfolge, betet für die Kranken und hält große Feldzüge und alles. Es ist, weil der Mann glaubte.
E-31 Nun, seht, der Geist, der in Christus war, der Leib, Jesus, welcher Gott war, Immanuel. Der Heilige Geist. Gott kam in Christus herab und wurde “Gott mit uns.” Und dann war Er... Das war, um uns zu erlösen; Sein Blut wurde vergossen.
Nun, im Alten Testament, als der Anbeter kam und seine Hände auf dieses Opfer legte, und er schnitt die Kehle des... der Priester tat es, oder er opferte. Der Anbeter hielt das Opfer mit seinen Händen und fühlte, wie das Fleisch zerrissen wurde, und das kleine Lamm im Sterben; seine kleine Wolle wurde mit seinem Blut gebadet, lief ganz über die Hände des Gläubigen und so weiter, wurde in der Schale aufgefangen, um dort drüben am Altar verbrannt zu werden. Aber der Gläubige erkannte, daß er derjenige sein sollte, der für diese Sünde sterben müßte, aber das Lamm starb an seiner Statt. Nun, aber das Leben, das in dem Blut war, konnte nicht auf den Anbeter zurückkommen, weil es das Blut eines Tieres war, welches keine Seele hat. Deshalb gab es fortwährend eine Erinnerung von Sünden.
E-32 Aber Jesus, Er war Immanuel, dann war das Leben Gottes in Ihm, und das kommt zurück; nicht nur das Leben eines Mannes, sondern Gott Selbst, in der Gestalt des Heiligen Geistes kommt zurück und macht euch zu Söhnen und Töchtern Gottes. Dann seid ihr Söhne und Töchter. Und dann, wenn ihr den Schrecken fühlt und das Elend und die Strafe, durch die Jesus ging, verspottet wurde, Sein Dienst wurde als Werk des Teufels bezeichnet, “Beelzebub”, und wurde sich lustig darüber gemacht und verhöhnt von den religiösen Führern und abgelehnt. “Er kam in Sein Eigentum, und die Seinen nahmen Ihn nicht auf.” Und die Dinge, wo Er hindurchging! Und dann Sein Leben am Kreuz geopfert zu haben, um die zu erlösen, die Gott zuvor erkannte. Erlösen: es zu dem Ort zurückzubringen, von dem es gefallen war. Dann, Gott tat dieses, um den Heiligen Geist jetzt auf die Gemeinde zurückzusenden, die Menschen, die Gläubigen. Es ist nur für Gläubige.
E-33 Es ist nicht für Ungläubige. Sie werden es niemals sehen. Sie sind tot von Anfang an.
Seht die Pharisäer an, als sie Jesus genau das Zeichen ausführen sahen, welches das Messiaszeichen sein sollte.
Seht auf Petrus, er glaubte es jetzt. Und Nathanael glaubte es gerade jetzt. Die Frau am Brunnen glaubte es; der blinde Bartimäus. Alle die, die es annahmen, glaubten es.
Aber jene Führer standen da und sagten, “Es ist Beelzebub, ein böser Geist, irgendein Streich oder ein Trick.”
Jesus sagte: “Ihr sagt das gegen Mich, Ich vergebe euch”, das Opfer war noch nicht gebracht, “aber wenn der Heilige Geist gekommen ist, um dieselbe Sache zu tun, ein Wort dagegen wird nie vergeben werden, weder in dieser noch in der zukünftigen Welt.”
Warum konnten sie es nicht glauben? Jesus sagte: “Ihr seid von eurem Vater, dem Teufel, und seine Werke werdet ihr tun.” Das stimmt genau.
E-34 Das Wort zu glauben ist, das Wort aufzunehmen und es Leben werden zu lassen. Nun, Gott zeigte dort, wie Er diesen Bund bestätigte. Es muß auf diese Weise sein. Die Gemeinde! Nicht eine Organisation, keine Denomination; sondern der einzelne, und Gott muß derselbe Geist werden. Das ist Gottes Absicht im Anfang.
Adam und Eva war derselbe Geist. Die Bibel sagt im 1. Mose 27: “In dem Bilde Gottes... ” “In dem Bilde Gottes schuf Er ihn; und schuf sie männlich und weiblich”, in der Geistesgestalt, die in Gott war. Gott ist ein Geist. Und Adam sollte für das Land sorgen, genau wie der Heilige Geist die Gemeinde jetzt leiten sollte. Und doch, der Mensch war nicht im Fleisch, und er war beides, männlich, und er war auch weiblich, weil es derselbe Geist ist.
E-35 Dann schuf Gott den Menschen aus dem Staub der Erde und bildete ihn in der Form eines Tieres. Welches wir jetzt sind, ein Tier, wir wissen das. Wir sind Säugetiere. Und das ist das warmblütige Tier, und wir sind in diesem Bild von Tierleben.
Und dann nahm Gott eine Rippe von Adam ... Eine Frau ist ein Nebenprodukt von einem Mann, eigentlich nicht in der originalen Schöpfung. Er nahm eine Rippe. Er trennte den körperlichen Teil und nahm den weiblichen Geist von Adam und legte ihn in Eva. Da waren der Mann und die Frau.
Und wenn sie aus diesen Stellungen herauskommen, sind sie außerhalb ihrer richtigen Stellung. Da ist irgendwo eine Verdrehung. Wenn eine Frau männlich sein möchte, oder ein Mann weiblich handeln möchte, da ist irgendwo etwas verkehrt. Sie sind außerhalb ihrer richtigen Stellung.
E-36 Wir nehmen es in Rebekka und Isaak wahr, die richtig blutsverwandt sind, seht, aber nun war das ein Typ auf Israels natürlichen Samen. Aber durch Glauben, Christus kam hervor, welches nicht im Natürlichen ist.
Wie das Zeichen vorhanden war, das Blut am Türpfosten unten in Ägypten. Ganz gleich, wieviel sie beschnitten waren, wieviel sie den Bund hatten, das Zeichen mußte zur Schau gestellt werden, oder der Bund war aufgelöst. Gewiß. “Wenn Ich das Blut sehe, werde Ich an euch vorübergehen.”
Nun, das Zeichen ist nicht das Blut; es ist das Leben, das in dem Blut war, der Heilige Geist. Und das ist der... Es ist mir gleich, wie religiös ihr seid; wenn ihr nicht den Heiligen Geist empfangen habt, werdet ihr umkommen. Das ist der einzige Weg. Es gibt keine andere Schrift, um irgend etwas zu tun, nur das alleine. “Betrübet nicht den Heiligen Geist Gottes, durch welchen ihr versiegelt seid bis auf den Tag eurer Erlösung.” Eph. 4,30.
E-37 Beachtet jetzt, wir kommen zurück, dann zeigt dieses, daß Adam und Eva von Anfang an eins waren. Mann und Frau sollten immer noch eins sein.
Nun, aber als sie sich in das Fleisch hinein trennten, dort war es, daß Eva fiel. Fiel! Warum? Das Wort nicht zu glauben, jede Phase davon. Einige Menschen können einen Teil des Wortes nehmen, aber nicht den Rest. Es muß alles dort sein. Seht? Seht? Sie zweifelte eben eine Phase davon an. Und wenn alle Krankheiten und alle Lasten, die wir jetzt gehabt haben, durch eine Frau gekommen sind, die eine Phase davon anzweifelte, wie kommen wir zurück mit irgend etwas weniger, als es alles zu glauben, und es alles anzunehmen. Das war ihr... Sie waren gewappnet durch das Wort. Als sie sich trennten, im Fleisch, fielen sie. Sie fiel durch das Wort. Seht, paßt auf, wonach hielt sie Ausschau?
E-38 Einfach so viele Menschen heute, sie möchten einen besseren, eleganteren Weg, einen leichteren Weg. Sie möchten der Sache, die vor sie gestellt wird, nicht ins Auge sehen. Wenn sie es tun, werden sie aus ihrer Organisation herausgesetzt, werden in den Bann getan, werden sie gering geschätzt.
Wißt ihr nicht, daß “die Menschen euch um Meinetwillen schmähen und verfolgen und allerlei Übles wider euch reden, so sie daran lügen. Seid fröhlich und getrost, es wird euch im Himmel wohl belohnt werden. Denn also haben sie verfolgt die Propheten, die vor euch gewesen sind. Und alle, die gottselig leben in Christo Jesus, müssen Verfolgung leiden.”
E-39 Nun, was möchten wir noch, das Er uns sagt? Tausende von Worten, Schriftstellen könnten wir anführen, die sich darauf beziehen; es würde sich hinziehen von 1. Buch Mose bis zur Offenbarung.
Alles, was wir heutzutage haben, begann in 1. Mose. Es ist das Saatkapitel. Jeder Unglaube und alles begann gerade dort. Die Gemeinde begann dort. Alles begann dort. Es gleicht zwei Weinstöcken, die heranwachsen, und einer stellt den anderen dar, und sie kamen gerade fast gleich hoch.
E-40 Wie Moab und auch Mose. Dort kam Israel, gering, keine Denomination, nicht im Geringsten eine Nation. Und sie hatten dasselbe Opfer hier in Moab; eine feine Denomination, alle ihre Würdenträger kamen heraus, opferten dasselbe Opfer. Ihr Bischof dort oben, Bileam, kam herunter, um das zu verfluchen, was Gott gesegnet hatte. Sie dachten: “Dieses heidnische Volk! Sie haben noch nicht mal eine Heimatgemeinde, wie es war. Sie irren nur umher.”
Und er sagte: “Aber sie versäumten, den Ruf des Königs im Lager zu hören. Er versäumte, die Göttliche Heilung zu sehen, die dort durch jene Schlange hineinging. Und der geschlagene Felsen, um ihnen Leben zu geben! Der Ruf des Königs in dem Lager!”
Er versäumte, das zu sehen, der verblendete Bischof. Aber dennoch, grundsätzlich war er genauso korrekt wie Mose es war; sieben Altäre, sieben Opfer, selbst ein Widder wurde geopfert, welches von dem Kommen Christi redete.
E-41 Aber Gott braucht niemanden, um Ihn auszulegen. Er ist Sein eigener Ausleger. Er macht die Verheißung, dann läßt Er es geschehen, und das ist die Auslegung davon. Niemand muß es auslegen. Gott bittet niemanden. “Die Bibel gestattet keine private Auslegung.” Jedermann versucht zu sagen, Es bedeutet das, dieses. Laßt Gott für Sich Selbst sprechen. Er ist Derjenige, der es tut. Er machte die Verheißung; Er steht dahinter. Er tut es für Gläubige.
Aber Ungläubige empfangen nichts. Es ist nicht für sie. Sie sind tot von Anfang an. Sie waren selbst niemals vertreten. Es ist nichts in ihnen. Sie sind tote Schalen. Ihr möchtet nicht so sein.
„Seid erfüllt mit dem Geist!”
E-42 Bemerkt, Er trennte Eva und Adam, und sie fiel. Adam ging mit ihr. Nun, “Adam wurde nicht verführt.” Eva wurde verführt. Aber Adam, der erste Adam, war Gottes Sohn ebenfalls. Und er ging hinaus wegen der Liebe zu Eva, zu versuchen, sie zurückzubringen, weil er sie liebte.
Christus tat dieselbe Sache, um sie zurückzukaufen. Wohin? Zum Wort. Was verursachte den Fall? Das Wort, Unglaube an das Wort, das ganze Wort. Und Christus kam, damit Er einer von uns werden möge, Sein Leben in uns, um das Wort fortzusetzen. “Im Anfang war das Wort, und das Wort war bei Gott, und Gott war das Wort. Und das Wort wurde Fleisch und wohnte unter uns. ”Derselbe gestern, heute und für immer.“ Derselbe Gott! Das ist der Grund, weshalb Er kam, um das zu tun.
Nun stellen wir fest, in der Bestätigung, uns durch Sich Selbst zurückzuerlösen, um die widerspenstigen Kinder zu erlösen, die umherirrten in diesen Leichenschauhäusern; und daß sie wieder zu dem Wort zurückkamen, zurück zu dem ausgewiesenen Wort!
E-43 Nun, jene Juden, sie konnten sagen als Jesus kam: “Wir haben das Wort. Wir haben das Wort. Hier ist es, was Mose sagte. Wir sind Jünger von Mose.” Jesus, nur 12 Jahre alt, debattierte mit ihnen. Und dann, als... Seht, das ist es, wie Menschen es behandeln.
Aber Jesus sagte: “Wenn Ich nicht die Werke Meines Vaters tue, dann glaubt Mir nicht. Denn die Werke, die der Vater Mir zu tun gegeben hat, sie zeugen, wer Ich bin.”
Wer? Jeder Mensch, der von Gott gesandt wurde, Gott bezeugt Sich in den Werken, die Er ihn bestimmte zu tun. Wenn es nicht so ist, wenn die Schrift nicht dafür eintritt, laßt es gehen.
E-44 Selbst im Alten Testament hatten sie einen Weg, daß sie es wußten, ob es wahr war oder nicht. Sie brachten sie hinunter, einen, der Träume hatte, einen, der vorhersagte, oder wer immer es war, sie nahmen ihn hinunter zum Urim- Tummim. Das war ein übernatürliches Licht.
Gott ist immer übernatürlich, wirkt im Übernatürlichen. Solange es dort einen Gott gibt, gibt es Übernatürliches, wenn es Jehova Gott ist.
Und wenn, ganz gleich, wie gut sich der Traum anhörte, wenn es nicht auf diesem Urim-Tummim aufleuchtete, dann war es verkehrt.
Jetzt ist die alte Aaron'sche Priesterschaft aufgehoben, aber immer noch haben wir ein Urim-Tummim. Dies ist die Offenbarung von Jesus Christus, offenbart Ihn in diesem Wort. Und alles, was im Gegensatz zu diesem Wort ist, ist nicht Gott; im Gegensatz dazu. Aber Gott spricht für Sich Selbst. Er weist Sich Selbst mit Seinem Wort aus. Da ist es, wo Jesus Satan besiegte.
„Es steht geschrieben... ”
Dann kam Satan hier zurück, und plumpste wieder herein. Er sagte: “Ja, es steht ebenfalls geschrieben... ” Aber dieses Mal, als er kam, traf er auf eine starke Spannung. Dieses Mal versengte es seine Flügel. Dann sprang er von dort weg.
Er sagte: “Es steht geschrieben, 'Der Mensch lebt nicht vom Brot allein, sondern von jeglichem Wort, das durch den Mund Gottes geht.' Gehe hinter Mich, Satan!” Seht?
E-45 Bemerkt, was geschah. Gott hat Sich Selbst immer durch Sein verheißenes Wort ausgewiesen. Nun, wenn jene Pharisäer richtig zurückgesehen hätten, Mose sagte: “Einen Propheten wie mich wird der Herr, euer Gott, euch erwecken.” Das war die Schrift.
Aber kein Wunder, daß Jesus dem Vater dankte und sagte: “Ich danke Dir, Vater, daß Du dieses vor den Augen der Weisen und Klugen verborgen hast und offenbarst es den Babys und solchen, die lernen möchten.”
Als Er eines Tages zu Petrus sagte, als sie herunterkamen. Als Er sagte: “Wer sagen die Menschen, daß des Menschensohn sei?”
„Einer von ihnen sagte, Du seist 'Elia', und einer sagte, Du seist 'Mose', und so weiter.”
Er sagte: “Aber das ist nicht die Frage. Ich frage euch.”
Er sagte, “Du bist Christus, der Sohn des lebendigen Gottes.”
Er sagte: “Gesegnet bist du, Simon, Jonas Sohn, denn Fleisch und Blut hat dir das nicht offenbart; niemals in einem Seminar gelernt, niemand hat es dich gelehrt, sondern es ist eine Offenbarung.” O my! “Auf diesen Felsen will Ich Meine Gemeinde bauen, und die Pforten der Hölle sollen sie nicht überwältigen”, die Offenbarung oder die Ausweisung Jesu Christi.
Er sagte: “Wenn Ich die Werke Meines Vaters nicht tue, glaubt Mir nicht.”
E-46 Nun, laßt uns weiterwandern. Wir finden Ihn... Nun, laßt uns weitergehen zum 17. Kapitel. Wir finden Ihn hier im 17. Kapitel, wo Er Abraham nach der Bestätigung von diesem erschien, zeigend, was Er tun würde.
Und merkt euch jetzt, der Geist kommt darauf! Und der Geist, der in der Gemeinde ist, in der tatsächlichen Gemeinde, der echten Gemeinde, Gottes Gemeinde, Gottes Volk; der Geist, der in ihnen ist, derselbe Geist ist auf Christus mit einer Verheißung, “Die Werke, die Ich tue, sollt ihr auch tun.”
E-47 Erinnert euch, einmal in der Kreuzigung, gerade vorher, sie legten einen Lappen um Sein Gesicht und schlugen Ihm auf den Kopf mit einem Rohr und sagten: “Nun, wenn du der Sohn Gottes bist” ... 'Wenn du ein Prophet bist', sagen sie mir. “Weissage, Prophet!” Sie gaben den Stock weiter: “Sage uns, wer dich geschlagen hat.” Seht ihr diesen Teufel? Seht?
Er sagte, “ich verstehe, daß du ein Wundertäter bist. Verwandle diese Steine in Brot. Laß es mich dich tun sehen. Ich werde dir glauben, wenn du es tun wirst, verwandle diese Steine in Brot. Ich werde glauben. Ich werde es tun.”
E-48 Ein Mann sagte mir vor kurzem, “Wenn du mir eine Person vorbringen kannst, die geheilt wurde, mit Angaben eines Arztes!”
Ich sagte: “O Gnade, Mann, halte den Mund. Du meine Güte!” Ich sagte: “Ich werde Doktoren zu Hunderten bringen.”
Er sagte: “Ich habe tausend Dollar, die auf dich warten, wenn du es tust.”
Und ich brachte die Ärzte mit ihren Fällen. Er sagte: “Nun, das Geld ist in... ”
Ich sagte: “Ich möchte das Geld als ein Missionsopfer.” Und er sagte... “Sende irgend jemand, der das Evangelium glaubt, nach Übersee.”
Er sagte: “Gut, laß mich ein kleines Mädchen nehmen, und ich und meine Brüder stehen da herum, und wir werden ihre Hand abschneiden, und dann heile du es gerade hier vor uns, und wir werden dir glauben.”
Ich sagte: “Du brauchst Heilung deines Geistes.” Das stimmt genau. Ein Mann, so vom Teufel besessen!
Derselbe sagte: “Wenn du der Sohn Gottes bist, wenn du es bist, steige vom Kreuz herunter.” O, wo genau diese Bibel sagt, daß Er am Kreuz hängen mußte!
Kaiphas sagte: “Er hat andere gerettet; er kann sich selbst nicht retten.” Nicht wissend, daß es das größte Kompliment war, das Ihm je gegeben wurde. Wenn Er Sich Selbst rettete, könnte Er nicht andere retten. Er mußte Sich Selbst geben.
Sicher wußte Er, wer Ihn schlug, aber Er machte keinen Hanswurst für den Teufel. Gott ist kein Clown. Er macht keinen Clown für den Teufel. Seine Werke sind zu denen gesandt, die glauben, nicht um dadurch vernarrt zu werden.
E-49 Habt acht, Er erschien ihm hier als er 99 Jahre alt war, und Er erschien ihm in dem Namen des Allmächtigen Gottes. Der Name dort im Hebräischen ist El Shaddai.
Nun, Gott hat sieben zusammengesetzte Erlösernamen. Wir wissen das. Und ihr könnt sie nicht von Christus trennen. Ihr könnt sie nicht trennen. Christus entsprach jedem dieser zusammengesetzten Erlösernamen. Glaubt ihr das? Er, glaubt ihr, daß Er Jehova Jireh ist: “Der Herr hat ein Opfer bereitet”? Was ist dann mit Jehova Rapha: “Der Herr heilt alle deine Krankheiten”? Und wenn das nicht auf Christus angewandt würde, dann wäre Er nicht Jehova Jireh. Ihr könnt es also nicht trennen, die ganze Sache ist ineinander gewunden, und da habt ihr es. Er kann nicht Jehova Rapha sein, ohne Jehova Jireh zu sein, noch kann Er Jehova Jireh sein, ohne Jehova Rapha zu sein. “Er war verwundet wegen unserer Übertretungen, durch Seine Wunden sind wir geheilt.” Es gibt kein Argumentieren darüber.
E-50 Nun, wir stellen hier fest, Er erscheint im Namen von El Shaddai, “der Allmächtige.” Tatsächlich ist das hebräische Wort Shad, s h a d, einige sprechen es “shade” aus. Shad bedeutet “Brust”, wie die Brust einer Frau. Er erschien ihm in dem Namen von El Shaddai, welches in der Mehrzahl steht, gebrüstet. “Ich Bin der gebrüstete Gott. Abraham, neunundneunzig Jahre alt, wandle vor Mir! Sei vollkommen, glaube Mein Wort! Halte an am Glauben! Ich verhieß mit fünfundsiebzig; hier ist es, es war jetzt vor vierundzwanzig Jahren, daß Ich dir die Verheißung gab.” Und welch ein Trost muß es für einen alten Mann gewesen sein, neunundneunzig Jahre alt. Und seine Kraft war ganz dahin, und hier steht Gott vor ihm und sagt: “Ich Bin El Shaddai, Ich Bin der gebrüstete Gott.” Amen. “Ziehe deine Kraft von Mir. Ich Bin deine Kraft.”
Wie das Neue und Alte Testament, der gebrüstete Gott. “Ich Bin der gebrüstete Gott, zieh deine Kraft von Mir.”
Wie ein kleines Baby, wenn es krank ist, ärgerlich, krank, schwach, es lehnt sich an seine Mutterbrust und saugt seine Kraft zurück von der Mutter. In anderen Worten, “Abraham, du bist für Mich nichts als ein Baby.” Neunundneunzig Jahre alt, es ist keine Zeit gewesen, sein Leben.
Denkt daran, Jesus wurde gekreuzigt, als wäre es gestern gewesen. Eintausend Jahre auf der Erde ist gerade ein Tag bei Gott. Seht, gerade als ob Er gestern gekreuzigt worden wäre.
E-51 Und bemerke: “Ich Bin El Shaddai. Du bist ein kleines schwaches Baby. Aber lehne dich an Meine Brust, Meine Verheißung, und sauge von Mir deine Kraft. Ich Bin der Schöpfer, der Himmel und Erde befestigte und die Sterne dort drüben an Ort und Stelle setzte. Ist irgend etwas zu groß für Gott? Ich Bin El Shaddai, und du bist Mein Kind. Du bist zwar schwach, und Ich lasse dich dahin kommen, einfach um zu sehen, was du deswegen tun wirst. Ich werde ein Beispiel geben für die Menschen danach, daß die Menschen Mein Wort glauben werden. Ich werde dazu stehen. Ganz gleich, was es benötigt, wie lange, Ich werde es tun. Ich werde dazu stehen. El Shaddai! Ziehe deine Kraft von Mir.” O, ihr sagt,
„Wenn ich glauben könnte...”
Er ist immer noch El Shaddai. Er ist immer noch der gebrüstete Gott, Neues und Altes Testament. Zieht einfach eure Kraft davon, o, alles, was ihr benötigt. Das Baby, es ist hilflos, es muß seine Kraft von seiner Mutter ziehen; das ist die einzige Weise, wie es Kraft bekommen kann. Das ist die einzige Weise, wie ein Gläubiger seine Kraft bekommen kann, sie von dem Wort Gottes zu ziehen. Das ist seine Kraft, Gottes Verheißung für ihn. Steht dazu und glaubt es!
E-52 Und nicht nur ist das kleine Baby hier dargestellt, wenn es krank, ärgerlich ist, die Mutter kann es an ihre Brust nehmen, und es fängt an, seine Kraft zurückzusaugen; es ist zufrieden, während es saugt.
Das ist die Art mit einem echten Kind Gottes. Ganz gleich, was der Skeptiker sagt, was immer er glaubt. Wenn ihr es wirklich glaubt, Jesus kann nicht lügen. Ihr seid zufrieden damit, daß es euch geoffenbart ist. Ihr habt die Verheißung bekommen und niemand wird es stoppen. “Auf diesem Felsen werde Ich Meine Gemeinde bauen”, seht, geistlich geoffenbartes Wort der Wahrheit.
E-53 Während ihr wartet, ruht in eurem Glauben, nehmt Gottes Verheißung. “Ich glaube Dir, Herr. Du hast verheißen, mir die Taufe des Geistes zu geben. Ich ruhe in Deiner... im Glauben. Mein Glaube, den ich in Dich habe, ich schöpfe aus meiner Quelle, für meine Quelle, für meine Gesundheit, von Deiner Quelle, dem Wort.”
„Der Mensch lebt nicht vom Brot alleine, sondern heraus aus der Brust Gottes soll er seine Kraft saugen.” Aus jedem Wort, das aus dem Munde Gottes hervorkommt, soll er seine Kraft empfangen, während Es aus dem Munde Gottes kommt, das Wort.
E-54 Wie Abraham, Abraham ruhte. Nun, er hatte mit Sara gelebt seit sie ein kleines Mädchen war. Es war seine Halbschwester, und er lebte mit ihr und heiratete sie. Und sie war unfruchtbar. Sie hatte keine Kinder. Und hier ist sie jetzt, sie ist schon... wenn er neunundneunzig ist, ist sie neunundachtzig Jahre alt. “Aber Abraham, ruhe im Glauben auf Mein Wort. Ich verspreche dir, Ich werde es tun. Ich Bin El Shaddai. Ich Bin der gebrüstete Gott für Meine Kinder, die glauben.” Wenn ihr nicht saugen wollt, nun, dann sprecht nicht mehr darüber, seht ihr. Aber wenn ihr ein Kind seid, dann saugt ihr, ruht ihr auf jeder Verheißung!
E-55 Beachtet, wirklicher Glaube ruht auf dem soliden Felsen der Verheißung von Gottes Wort. Er bewegt sich nicht. Der wirkliche Glaube ist verankert.
Wie in dem Nordstern, der Nordstern ist ein Festpunkt für jeden Kapitän, der Kompaß weist ihn nur auf diesen Nordstern hin. Und Gott, das Wort, ist jedes Christen Nordstern, wenn ihr verloren seid, und der Heilige Geist ist es, der euch zu ihm weist. Er wird auf nichts anderes hinweisen. Alle anderen “Ismen” und so weiter, und Christentum darin vermischt oder was immer es sein mag; es ist wie die Erde, die sich verschiebt, es verändert Sterne, aber es kann nicht den Nordstern verändern. Noch kann irgend etwas das Wort Gottes verändern. Verankert euch darin, bleibt mit Ihm!
Nun, wirklicher Glaube bewegt sich nicht durch Glaubenssatzungen und menschengemachte Lehren und Unglauben. Er bleibt genau mit dem Wort stehen, wirklicher Glaube in das Wort.
Und wo könnt ihr euren Glauben irgend anders hineinlegen als in das Wort? Wenn Gott es gesagt hat, haltet euren Finger darauf, das ist wahr. Es bewegt sich nicht. Und er zieht von Gottes gebrüstetem Buch, der Bibel, Seine Eigenschaften, was Er verheißen hat. Was Er verheißen hat, das war Sein Wort. Das Wort bringt Sich Selbst hervor. Es muß vor dem Wort ein Gedanke sein, dann das Wort; dann wurde das Wort offenbar, und das ist es, woher ihr eure Kraft zieht. Gläubig! Gläubig! Denn der Schöpfer... Gläubig, wie Er war, der Schöpfer, der die Welt schuf.
E-56 Im Neuen Testament heißt es hier hinten: “So wie Mose in der Wüste die Schlange erhöhte, so wird der Sohn des Menschen erhöht werden.” Was war es? Dieselbe Absicht. Sie zweifelten Gott an, und Krankheiten und Schwierigkeiten setzten ein. Und Er hob die Schlange empor. Wozu? Für ihre Heilung und für ihre Vergebung. Das ist es, was es war. Und ehern bedeutet göttliches Gericht; und Jesus war diese gerichtete Schlange, sicher, die eherne...
E-57 Nun, nachdem Er den Bund bestätigt hatte, oder der Bund ihm geoffenbart worden war, gibt es den wahren Söhnen Gottes Glauben. Das Wort gibt Glauben, der Gebrüstete. Es bewirkt etwas an ihnen, wenn das Wort - oder wenn der Bund offenbar geworden ist, gibt es den wahren Söhnen Gottes Glauben.
E-58 Nun, wir wissen, wir erkennen, daß Er hier “Elohim” genannt wurde. Das Wort bedeutet hier in der Übersetzung auch “Elohim”. Schlagt es eben nach, seid sicher. “Elohim”! Und “Elohim” ist der alles Zufriedenstellende. Er ist El Shaddai, Elohim, der gebrüstete Gott, der All-Zufriedenstellende. Er benötigt nichts von irgend jemand anderem. Er ist eure Zufriedenheit.
E-59 Beachtet, dasselbe ist hier bezeugt worden in Hiob, wie ich heute nachmittag bemerkt habe, während ich studierte. Er wird “Elohim” genannt. Und Hiob wurde verspottet, er wurde lächerlich gemacht; welch ein Bild von heute. Aber Hiob ruhte in Elohims Verheißung: “Dennoch, nachdem die Würmer diesen Leib zerstört haben, dennoch werde ich in meinem Fleisch Gott sehen, Denselben werde ich sehen.” Er ruhte in Elohim, ganz gleich, was kommt.
Seine Frau kam und sagte: “Du siehst miserabel aus, Hiob.” Und hier kamen seine Tröster: “O, siehst du, was mit dir passiert ist, alter Knabe? Ich habe dir immer gesagt, daß du verkehrt bist. Siehst du, was passiert ist?” Viele Menschen lieben es, Leute wie diese abzuschütteln.
Hiob war der beste Mann seiner Zeit. Der beste Mann, den Gott auf der Erde hatte, war Hiob. Satan sagte: “Es gibt keinen wie ihn.” Amen. “Hast du ihn beachtet?”
Satan sagte: “Ja, alles kommt günstig für ihn. Brich diese Mauer und laß mich ihn haben. Ich werde bewirken, daß er dir ins Gesicht flucht.” Er tat alles, was er konnte, aber er vermochte es nicht.
Hiob ruhte in dieser Verheißung.
E-60 Die Burschen kamen vorbei und sagten: “Nun, wo ist jetzt der Gott, von dem du geredet hast? Mh-hmhh, sieh, was du glaubst, daß er Dies ist, sieh- sieh, was jetzt vor sich geht.”
Aber er ruhte immer noch in El Shaddai, sogar ganz gleich, ob seine Eiterbeulen ihm aufbrachen, und sein Leben so gut wie dahin war. Er saß auf einem Aschhaufen, seine Geschwüre schabend.
Seine Frau sagte: “Du, warum fluchst du Gott nicht und stirbst?”
Er sagte: “Du sprichst wie eine törichte Frau.” O my!
„Der Herr hat gegeben, der Herr hat genommen, gelobt sei der Name des Herrn. Ich vertraue auf Elohim. Wenn Er auch diesen Leib zerstört, die Würmer ihn auffressen, so werde ich dennoch in meinem Fleisch Gott sehen, Denselben werde ich sehen, meine Augen werden Ihn erblicken und kein anderer.” Er kam hervor, in Matthäus 27, als die Heiligen auferstanden, kam heraus und ging hinein, ging in die Stadt hinein. Ein völliger Typ auf heute, immer noch wartend, auf die Verheißung vertrauend.
E-61 Beachtet, danach erschien Er in diesem Namen, dem Namen: Allmächtiger Gott.
Nun, Gemeinde, jetzt mögen wir gerade ein wenig Lehre hier haben, es könnte ein wenig verdreht für euch sein. Wenn ihr es nicht glaubt, das liegt an euch. Wir sind nur hier, ich werde gerade das sagen, was ich denke. Ihr habt ein Recht zu denken, was ihr denken möchtet.
Aber merkt, aber all diese Dinge waren “Typen, Schatten und Beispiele”, wie die Bibel sagt, daß sie es waren. All das sind sie. Gott handelt mit Abraham auf der Reise genau wie Er mit Abrahams Königlichem Samen handeln wird auf der Reise. Bemerkt, Er handelt mit den Juden in der gleichen Weise. Es fing alles dort an, in jener Verheißung von dem Bund; alle Nationen, alle Völker.
E-62 Merkt euch, nach dem Erscheinen in diesem Namen des Allmächtigen Gottes. Und es war ihm geoffenbart worden, daß Er der alles Zufriedenstellende war. Er hatte keine Helfer. Er brauchte keine Sekretäre. Er war alleine, Gott. Er war Gott allein. Und Er erschien Abraham in diesem Namen, und während Er ihm in diesem Namen erschien und Abraham erkannte, Wer Er war, änderte Er Abrahams Namen. Jetzt ist er zur Fülle des Glaubens gekommen. Seht, wohin die Gemeinde gekommen ist? Ich hoffe, daß ihr zwischen den Zeilen lesen könnt. Kommt hinauf zu dem Ort, wo Er ihm geoffenbart hat, Wer Er war, und dann änderte Er Abrahams Namen, so daß die Verheißung erfüllt werden konnte.
Jetzt sagt ihr: “Es liegt nichts in dem Namen.”
Warum hat Er denn Abrahams Namen von Abram zu Abraham verändert? Warum hat Er Jakobs Namen von Jakob, “Überlister”, in Israel, “Gotteskämpfer”, verändert? Warum hat Er Saulus' Namen in Paulus verändert? Sicherlich, sein Name bedeutet gewiß etwas. Gewiß tut er das. Wenn ihr nicht richtig benannt seid, wird Gott es ändern, wenn Er euch gerufen hat. Ja, Herr.
E-63 Beachtet, Er änderte hier jetzt seinen Namen von Abram zu Abraham, welches “Vater der Nationen” bedeutet. Er fügte das h a m hinzu, Abraham. So tat Er das, damit die vollständige Verheißung erfüllt werden könnte. Und der Sohn jetzt, der seit langem verheißen war, konnte gesehen werden, oder konnte anderenfalls offenbart werden, als Er seinen Namen änderte, und nachdem er erkannte, Wer Er war. Er mag gedacht haben, es wären mehrere Personen; aber er erkannte, daß Er Elohim, Gott alleine, war. Aber als er das erkannte, dann änderte Er seinen Namen. Er sagte: “Jetzt, Abraham, wirst du nicht mehr Abram heißen, sondern Abraham, denn Ich habe dich zum Vater der Nationen gemacht.” Abraham ist jetzt in der Verfassung. Er ist in dem Zustand nach der Offenbarung dessen, Wer Er ist. Er ist jetzt in dem Zustand, den Sohn geoffenbart zu sehen.
E-64 Der Sohn ist bereit zu kommen, um geoffenbart zu werden. O, Kinder Abrahams!
Beachtet, Er änderte Seinen Botschafternamen gerade zu der Endzeit. Gerade um neunundneunzig Jahre, die er alt war, es ist ein Jahr übrig, und Er änderte seinen Namen, fügte h a m hinzu, welches “Vater” bedeutet. Er sollte ein Vater sein, ein Vater von einer Verheißung, Vater einer Verheißung.
O, wenn ihr geistliche Unterscheidung habt, hört zu! Nach der Offenbarung Seines Namens, Wer Er war, änderte Er seinen Namen. Jetzt nach der Offenbarung, jetzt traf Er die Erde, “es gibt nicht mehrere Götter; es gibt Einen”, jetzt ist es Zeit für die Offenbarung für den Sohn, der verheißen worden war, um dem Königlichen Samen Abrahams, der Verheißung nach, geoffenbart zu werden.
E-65 Seht, Er änderte es von Wesley, Baptist, Presbyterianer, Pfingstler. Ich weiß nicht, ob ich dieses sagen soll oder nicht. Ihr braucht es nicht zu glauben. Aber ich hoffe, daß ihr mir vergebt, denn ich möchte euch nicht verletzen.
Aber seht, es hat niemals einen Botschafter für die Gemeinden Gottes gegeben durch die ganze Zeit der Geschichte, die je einen Führer gehabt hat seit der Reformation wie der Führer, den wir heute haben, Billy Graham. Das stimmt, denn er ging durch die ganze Welt. Seht? Und habt acht, niemals hatten wir einen Mann, irgendeinen Reformer... Nehmen wir Sankey, Moody, Finney, Calvin, Knox, wer immer es sein mag, Wesley, Luther, es hat vorher keinen mit der Namensendung h a m gegeben. Der einzige Botschafter, den wir je in den Gemeindezeitaltern mit der Namensendung h a m gehabt haben; G r a h a m , Graham.
Und Graham sind sechs Buchstaben, und sechs ist eines Menschen Zahl, eines Menschen Tag; der Mensch wurde geschaffen in 1. Mose 1,26 am sechsten Tag. Aber sieben ist Gottes Zahl; der siebte Tag, Gott ruhte. Nicht sechs, es zeigt, daß dieser G r a h a m für die Gemeinde sein würde, die in der Welt ist; aber A b r a h a m , Abraham hat sieben Buchstaben.
E-66 Ihr sagt: “Es liegt nichts in Zahlen.” Dann kennt ihr die Zahlenwerte eurer Bibel nicht. Ihr versteht es jetzt bestimmt falsch. Sicherlich.
Gott ist vervollkommnet in “drei” und angebetet in “sieben”, und versucht in “vierzig” und Halljahr in “fünfzig”, o, was immer ihr tun wollt. Die ganze Mathematik, die Bibel arbeitet in Mathematik.
Beachtet, der sechste ist ein Botschafter, der zu der Welt gesandt werden soll. Und beachtet, der siebte ist Gottes Zahl.
Und bemerkt, zu dieser Zeit des Erscheinens jetzt, oder der Offenbarung des Sohnes. Wenn der .... Der Sohn sollte geoffenbart werden. Sie haben bereits Seinen Namen erkannt, wußten, Wer Er war. Er ist El Shaddai, der Allmächtige Elohim. Aber jetzt kommen wir zu der Zeit, wo Sich der verheißene Sohn Selbst offenbaren soll. Der Sohn, Isaak selbst, der verheißen war, ist bereit, auf die Szene zu kommen.
Und Er konnte es nicht tun, bis Er herabkam und seinen Namen von Abram zu Abraham änderte, weil er “ein Vater von Nationen” war. Bemerkt, - ham- h a m , “Vater, Vater von Nationen.”
E-67 Seht, wie es mit Maleachi 4 [3:19-24 - Verf.] übereinstimmt: “Erstatte den Glauben zurück zu den Vätern.” Abrahams Same soll zurückgebracht werden zu der Art von Glauben, den Vater Abraham hatte, Sein Königlicher Same. Damit Maleachi 4 erfüllt wird, muß der Glaube, der einst damals im Anfang war, zurückerstattet werden. Ihn dem Königlichen Samen Abrahams zurückerstatten. Es ist eine Verheißung. Es ist genau die Verheißung. Der Königliche Same soll offenbar werden und durch eine... durch den Königlichen Samen, welches der Königliche Same von Christus ist. Christus ist der Königliche Same. Und der Same ist der Heilige Geist, der in den Herzen der Menschen ist, die an Gott glauben, die Sein Wort halten, und Gott arbeitet durch sie, dieselbe Botschaft tragend. “Eine kleine Weile, und die Welt sieht Mich nicht mehr, aber ihr sollt Mich sehen; Ich werde mit euch sein, selbst in euch. Und die Werke, die Ich tue, werdet ihr auch tun.” Seht, Er offenbart es hier in den letzten Tagen, wie es kommen sollte.
E-68 Nun, habt jetzt acht auf das 18. Kapitel. Direkt nach dem geänderten Namen erscheint Gott, um Sich Selbst im Fleisch zu offenbaren. Nachdem der Name bekanntgemacht wurde, Wer Er ist, erscheint Gott im Fleisch. Abraham, eines heißen Tages, gerade wenige Wochen oder Monate bevor Sodom verbrannt wurde und Isaak auf die Szene kam. Und bemerkt, Abraham sitzt draußen unter seiner Eiche.
Und Lot ist unten in Sodom, und sie erfreuen sich an den Vergnügungen der Welt. Jedoch ist er Pastor Lot, wahrscheinlich hatte er dort unten eine nette kleine Versammlung. Was immer er tat, sagt die Bibel: “Die Gottlosigkeit und Sünden von der Zeit quälten seine gerechte Seele.” So muß er, wie viele von den modernen Lots heutzutage, gelitten haben; aber er wußte, er konnte nichts darin sagen. So seht denn, da war er.
E-69 Aber Abraham, nachdem Er ihm geoffenbart worden war; nun, Elohim war es, Welcher zu ihm gesprochen hatte. Jetzt sitzt er unter der Eiche, und hier kamen drei Männer, wandelnd wie menschliche Wesen. Habt acht auf die Wirkung, die die Offenbarung dessen, Wer Gott war, auf Abraham hatte, was sie an ihm bewirkte. Nachdem sein Name von Abram zu Abraham geändert worden war, sah er drei Männer kommen, und er nannte die drei, Einen, “mein Herr.” Drei von ihnen, sie waren Einer. Nicht so mit Nummer sechs, Lot; er sah zwei kommen, und er sagte “meine Herren.” Abrahams Vision und Offenbarung zeigten ihm, daß Er der All-Zufriedenstellende Elohim war. Sein Same soll dieselbe Sache empfangen.
Habt acht, wie Er Sich Selbst offenbarte, wie Er Sich Selbst bekanntmachte, ob er richtig war oder nicht. Bemerkt, welches Zeichen Er dem wahren Gläubigen gegenüber tat. Was ließ Er geschehen, um ihn erkennen zu lassen, daß das Elohim war?
Nun, er sagte: “mein Herr”. Es ist großes H E R R. Jeder Gelehrte weiß es; jeder Gelehrte weiß, daß es Elohim ist, der All-Zufriedenstellende, Elohim.
Einmal sagte ein Mann zu mir: “Du glaubst doch nicht, daß das Gott war?”
E-70 Ich sagte: “Gewiß tue ich es. Abraham sagte, Es war Gott. Er sprach zu ihm; er sollte es wissen.” Ja.
„Oh”, sagte er, “du meinst, daß Gott dort stand und das Fleisch von dem Kalb aß und die Milch von der Kuh trank und das Kornbrot aß, wie immer ihr es dort nennen wollt?”
Ich sagte: “Er tat es. Wieso, du kennst einfach unseren Gott nicht.” Nun gut, Er könnte einfach... Warum, Er reicht einfach herüber...
Wir sind geschaffen aus sechzehn Elementen; Petroleum, kosmisches Licht und Pottasche und Calcium und so weiter, eben sechzehn Elemente. Er hat es eben zusammengefaßt und hineingehaucht und ging hinunter auf die Erde. Ich bin so froh, daß Er so ein Vater ist. Obwohl die Würmer diesen Leib zerstören, dennoch wird Er euch rufen. Er verhieß es, daß Er es tun wird. Er ist Elohim. Er schnappte noch eine Handvoll und sagte: “Komm her, Woodworm”, oder was immer es war, die Engel, “und kommt herunter. Laßt uns hinuntergehen und nach Sodom sehen; sehen, was vor sich geht.”
E-71 Und nach der Offenbarung sah Abraham es, und er wußte, daß es einen Gott gibt. Und er hatte es gesehen, und er sagte: “Mein Herr, komm beiseite, setze Dich nieder, laß mich Deine Füße waschen.” Nun, er sagte niemals Herr. Und beachtet, es ist hier großgeschrieben. Jeder weiß es. Ich habe den Betonungs-Diaglott. Seht, es ist in großen Buchstaben H E R R, “Herr”, Elohim, der All-Zufriedenstellende. Er sagte, “Laß mich ein wenig Wasser holen und Deine Füße waschen und Dir ein Stück Brot geben, dann kannst Du Deinen Weg fortsetzen.
E-72 Sagt, ich mache hier zu lange. Ich hätte mich besser beeilt. Ich wollte hierzu kommen, und ich weiß nicht, wann ich dazu imstande sein werde. Haltet eben noch ein wenig mit mir aus, wollt ihr es tun?
E-73 Bemerkt, Elohim, der All-Zufriedenstellende, Gott. Und Er sagte... Beachtet, was Er tat.
Nun, zwei von ihnen fingen an, ständig nach Sodom hinunterzusehen.
Und Er sagte: “Meinst du, Ich werde dieses vor Abraham verbergen? Er tut nichts, bis Er es Seinen Propheten offenbart. Seht, Er läßt es sie wissen. Und Er sagte: ”Ich werde dieses nicht geheimhalten, er ist gesegnet von Gott, und er wird die Erde ererben und so weiter. Sein Same wird es sein, und er wird Vater vieler Nationen sein. Ich will es nicht vor ihm verbergen. Ich werde es ihn wissen lassen.“ Und so sagte Er es, begann, es ihm zu offenbaren.
E-74 Und Er sagte, “Abraham”, nicht Abram. “Abraham, wo ist deine Frau S a r a ?” Wie wußte Er das? Nun, gerade einen oder zwei Tage zuvor war er Abram, einen oder zwei Tage vor diesem. Und sie war Sarai, und nun ist sie Sara. Und er ist Abraham. Er sagte: “Abraham, wo ist deine Frau Sara?”
Abraham sagte: “Sie ist im Zelt hinter Dir.”
Er sagte: “Ich werde dich besuchen gemäß der Zeit des Lebens. Und dieser Sohn, der verheißen gewesen ist, ist bereit, jetzt auf die Szene zu kommen. Du wirst ihn haben.”
Und Sara lachte ein wenig in sich hinein, sie sagte: “Ich bin alt und soll wieder Vergnügen mit meinem Herrn haben, und er ist alt?” So etwas wie dies, denn sie war neunzig, und er war hundert. “Und so könnte ich das jetzt wieder tun?”
E-75 Und der Engel, Botschafter, Gott in menschlichem Fleisch sagte: “Warum hat sie gelacht?”
Das war eine Bestätigung. Warum? Er zeigte, daß die Offenbarung richtig war. Es bewies, daß es richtig war, wie er Ihn benannt hatte, Elohim. Weil Er das Wort war. In Hebräer, dem 4. Kapitel, dem 12. Vers heißt es: “Das Wort Gottes ist schärfer als ein zweischneidiges Schwert und unterscheidet die Gedanken und Absichten des Herzens.” Und als Abraham dieses gesehen hatte, war er sicher, daß er Ihn dann “Elohim” benennen konnte. Elohim, Er war das Wort, “Derselbe gestern, heute und für immer.”
E-76 Habt acht, als Jesus, der Königliche Same Abrahams, auf die Szene kam, offenbarte Er Sich dem natürlichen Samen Abrahams in demselben Zeichen. Und sie nannten Ihn “Beelzebub”. Es verblendete sie, die Ungläubigen, verblendete sie und brachte sie dazu, daß sie lästerten und das sandte sie zur Hölle. Aber es gab eine ewige Aussicht den Gläubigen, die bestimmt waren zum ewigen Leben.
Habt acht, Jesus verhieß, in den letzten Tagen, gerade vor dem Kommen des Menschensohnes, daß Er kommen würde und Sich Selbst offenbaren würde, in der Zeit, wo der Menschensohn Sich offenbaren wird, daß dieser Königliche Same Abrahams dasselbe Zeichen sehen würde. Nun, bemerkt, als Er das sagte, das ist in Lukas 17,28 und 30: “Und wie es war in den Tagen zu Sodom.” Nun, Jesus sagte dieses. Ich bin dafür nicht verantwortlich. Ich bin nur verantwortlich dafür, es zu sagen, das zu sagen, was Er sagte. Aber Jesus sagte dieses: “Wie es war in den Tagen Sodoms, so wird es sein, wenn der Menschensohn kommt”, nun, bemerkt, “in den Tagen, daß der Menschensohn geoffenbart wird, wenn der Menschensohn Seiner Gemeinde geoffenbart wird.
E-77 Wie zu Abraham. Er war Gott, Er blieb dabei herunterzukommen, bestätigte den Bund, er erkannte, Wer Er war, und sein Name wurde geändert. Bemerkt, er wurde geändert gerade bevor Er den Hügel hinaufkam und über Sodom hinwegsah, gerade bevor der verheißene Sohn hervorkam.
Jesus sprach von demselben Bild. Jesus las dieselbe Bibel, die ich lese, und die ihr lest. Wenn ihr wissen möchtet, was es war, geht zurück und seht, was sie taten in den Tagen Sodoms. Habt acht, nicht so sehr in den Tagen Noahs (Er sprach über ihre Unmoral, wie sie aßen, tranken, heirateten und verheirateten), sondern in den Tagen Sodoms.
Nun, es wird nicht mehr Wasser sein. Gott verhieß das durch das Regenbogenzeichen. Er gibt uns ein Zeichen. Er gibt immer Zeichen. Er erinnert Sich immer an Seine Zeichen. Er ist immer getreu dazu durch die Jahre hindurch, Er versäumt niemals, dieses Regenbogenzeichen zu geben. Er gibt immer Seine Zeichen. Habt acht.
Und in diesem Zeichen verhieß Er, daß Er die Welt nicht mehr durch Wasser zerstören wird, sondern Er sagte, es würde “brennen”. Und bemerkt, Jesus sagte hier: “Wie es war in den Tagen Sodoms”, die heidnische Welt war im Begriff, vernichtet zu werden. [Leere Stelle auf dem Band.]
Und seht, was ist unten unter ihnen? Ein Mann, G r a h a m , sprengt sie weg, jene Politiker, das ist zu der natürlichen Gemeinde. Nun, zu der geistlichen Gemeinde...
E-78 Es gibt immer drei Gruppen von Menschen. Das sind Gläubige, Ungläubige und Scheingläubige. Es gibt sie in jeder Versammlung. Wenn ihr den Druck fühltet, den ich fühlte, dann wüßtet ihr, daß sie gerade heute abend hier sind. Alle drei. Bemerkt, da habt ihr es, es gibt diese drei Arten überall.
E-79 Nun, wenn ihr sehen werdet, daß es dieselbe Sache sein mußte als der Menschensohn dem Königlichen Samen durch Christus (Christus ist der Königliche Same) geoffenbart werden sollte, wenn Er geoffenbart wird in den letzten Tagen. Nun, positionsgemäß ist die Welt in ihrem richtigen Stand, denn die Sonne, die im Osten aufging, geht im Westen unter. “Und es war ein trüber Tag”, der Organisationen, Denominationen machte, “aber in der Abendzeit soll es Licht sein”, sagte der Prophet Jeremia1. Nun, in den Tagen, wenn dieser Sohn... Es kommt hervor hinter den Wolken von Denominationen, um Sich Selbst zu offenbaren; Er sagte, die Welt würde untergehen, so wie es war in den Tagen Sodoms, und der Menschensohn würde Sich wieder Seinem Volk offenbaren. Seht, wie Er es dem Samen Isaaks offenbarte; seht, wie Er es dem Königlichen Samen, der Königlichen Braut, der Königin offenbaren wird. Die Königin ist der Königliche Same.
Und wie Gott eine Nation aus einer Nation in Ägypten herausbrachte, so bringt Er Seine Gemeinde heraus aus einer Gemeinde, oder eine Braut heraus aus einer Gemeinde; Gemeinde aus einer Gemeinde heraus. Und der Überrest von dem Samen der Frau, das ist es, was übriggelassen wurde, “dort ist Weinen und Heulen und Zähneknirschen, denn sie hatten kein Öl in ihren Lampen”, Heiligen Geist; Er repräsentiert es immer. Da sind sie.
E-80 Die Position liegt richtig. Und jetzt seht hinauf auf den Berg. Nun, die Gemeinde: Abraham - Lot - Sodomiter. Die Welt - die Gemeinde - die Auserwählten. Die Gemeinde, die Braut, heraus aus der Gemeinde. Wir liegen positionsgemäß richtig. Die Welt bewegt sich gerade dorthin.
Verdrehung! Alles ist verdreht. Das ist es. Ich sage euch, alles ist gekreuzt.
Als ich herunterkam, sah ich ein großes Schild, es hieß, “Gekreuztes Korn.” Nun, es hat keinen Wert. Nein. Das sollte euch Atheisten aufschrecken lassen. Als Gott sagte: “Laß jeden Samen nach seiner Art hervorbringen.” Und ihr könnt Korn kreuzen und es zu einem besser aussehenden Korn machen, aber ihr könnt es nicht wieder einpflanzen; es hat kein Leben in sich.
E-81 Und auf diese Weise habt ihr es mit der Gemeinde gemacht. Wir haben es hübsch gemacht und es mit denominationellem Flitterkram dekoriert, aber es hat kein Leben in sich. Es kann diesen biblischen Beweis nicht wieder hervorbringen. Seht? Es kann den Beweis der Auferstehung von Jesus Christus nicht mehr hervorbringen. Es ist eine gekreuzte Sache.
Besser gekleidete Leute, besser bezahlt, größere Denominationen, reicher, vom laodizäischen Zeitalter, ganz genau. “Reich, bedürfen nichts; sie wissen nicht, daß sie miserabel sind, erbärmlich, blind und arm, nackt und wissen es nicht.” Wenn ein Mensch weiß, daß er nackt ist, könnt ihr zu ihm sprechen. Aber wenn er es nicht weiß, das ist eine miserable Figur, erbärmlich. Verachtet die Menschen nicht, sondern habt Mitleid. Was wäre, wenn ihr es wärt, in dieser Verfassung? Was wäre, wenn das Wort euch nicht geoffenbart wäre, was würdet ihr tun? Was würde noch eine Rolle spielen, wenn eure Augen so blind wären, daß ihr es nicht sehen könntet? Das ist ein miserabler Anblick.
Und gerade exakt, positionsgemäß. Ihr könnt keinen Finger darauf legen, da ist es; gerade was Er sagte, was stattfinden wird. “Diese Zeichen würden in den letzten Tagen geschehen.” Seht, wo sie sich befinden, genau da.
E-82 Nun, habt acht, kreuzen. Als ob ihr einen Esel nehmt und ihn mit einem Pferd kreuzt, mit einer Stute vielmehr, und was bekommt ihr? Ihr bekommt einen Maulesel. Aber dieser Maulesel kann sich nicht fortpflanzen. Seht? Gott sagte: “Laß jeden Samen nach seiner Art hervorbringen.” Nun, woher kommt eure Evolution? Euer eigener Plan ist verurteilt, was ihr sagtet, was ihr glaubt. Gott sagte: “Laß jeden Samen nach seiner Art hervorbringen.” Er kann sich nicht fortpflanzen. Nein, nein. Er ist fertig.
Und ich glaube, ein Maulesel ist eines der beschränktesten Dinge, die ich je gesehen habe. Ihr könnt ihm nichts beibringen. Er wird dort stehen mit den langen Ohren, wißt ihr, und er wird bis zur letzten Minute warten, um euch zu treten, bevor er stirbt.
Ihr könnt ihm nichts beibringen. Es erinnert mich an etwas. Er wird dort stehen, und ihr werdet ihm Dinge sagen... Es erinnert mich an einige Leute, die heutzutage behaupten, Gläubige zu sein. Große Ohren, sie sitzen dort, und “Die Tage der Wunder sind vorbei. Hmh! Hmh! Hmh!” Er weiß nicht, woher er kommt. Er weiß nichts darüber. Das einzige, was er weiß, sind einige Gemeindesatzungen.
E-83 Aber laßt mich euch sagen, ich habe Respekt vor einem Thoroughbred. Junge, er kann euch seine Abstammung sagen. Er kann euch sagen, wer sein Papa war, wer seine Mama war, seine Großmama, Großpapa. Er ist reinrassig.
So sind diese reinrassigen Christen, sie können es gerade zu der Apostelgeschichte zurückführen und sehen, woher sie kamen, ein reinrassiger Christ, aus demselben Geist geboren, dieselbe Sache, in derselben Weise handelnd.
Dieselben Verfolger; Esel und Pferde fressen zusammen. Das stimmt. Da habt ihr es. Ihr müßt es einfach sehen. Dieses ist die Zeit der Kreuzungen.
E-84 Ich habe vor nicht langer Zeit einen Fall im Reader's Digest gesehen: “Ernährt Frauen weiter mit diesem gekreuzten Fleisch und mit diesem Zeug, so können sie ihre Babys nicht mehr haben. Sie erfahren eine Veränderung. Sie werden kräftiger in den Schultern und schmäler in den Hüften.” Nun, ihr wißt, der Mensch zerstört sich immer selbst durch die Zivilisation.
Kommt zu Gott zurück! Glaubt Gott. Kommt zu dem originalen Samen zurück. Kommt zurück und glaubt es. Ihr habt mein Tonband gelesen, vielmehr, ihr habt meine Tonbänder bekommen, ich glaube, ihr habt sie gehört über den Originalsamen und den Brautbaum und diese Dinge, welche wahr sind. Der Herr weiß es.
Wie diese Dinge vorausgesagt wurden, Monate und Monate. Ihr Menschen, was ihr hier seht, ist nur gering, was ihr geschehen seht. Fragt die Menschen, die um euch sind, fragt, ob es je einmal versagte. Es spricht über Menschen, Erdbeben, über Dinge, die geschehen werden. Der Heilige Geist sagt es uns. Stimmt das? Da waren Menschen, die... Sicher. Und über verschiedene Menschen.
E-85 Wie Marilyn Monroe, lange bevor sie starb. Sie sagen, daß sie Selbstmord beging. Sie hat es nicht getan. Sie starb an einem Herzanfall. Absolut.
Dieser Mann, dieser Kämpfer. Die Maginot-Linie in Deutschland. Alle diese Dinge, einfach Tausende von Dingen, trafen die Dinge vollkommen auf den Punkt, jedes Mal. Es kann nichts anderes als der Heilige Geist sein, seht? Seht? Er verhieß es.
Er gab sieben Dinge in 1933, die geschehen würden. Und jetzt hat jedes einzelne von ihnen stattgefunden bis auf zwei Dinge, vollkommen, ganz genau. Wie selbst Präsident Kennedy durch Betrug in die Regierung kommen würde. Es steht jetzt genau in meinen Büchern, es wurde vor 33 Jahren gesagt, genau. Wie die Maginot-Linie errichtet werden würde, elf Jahre bevor sie gebaut wurde. Wie Hitler aufstehen würde und Faschismus und Nazismus und alles im Kommunismus verknüpft sein würde, und der Kommunismus den Katholizismus zerstören würde. Und er wird es tun, ja, ganz gleich, was sie tun. Und es wurde gezeigt, gesagt, daß es ein ökumenisches Konzil geben werde, und wie alle Kirchen zusammenkommen würden und das Bildnis formen würden, genannt das Malzeichen des Tieres. Ihr seht sie gerade auf dem Weg, gerade jetzt. Das stimmt genau. Es muß geschehen, weil es niemals fehlgeschlagen hat.
Jeder, der es weiß, jeder, nehmt sie herum um die Welt, es hat nicht einmal verfehlt. Monate und Jahre vor der Zeit, es ist gerade vollkommen genau auf den Punkt. Es ist Gott unter euch Menschen; Gott in uns, der Heilige Geist. Beachtet, Jesus sagte, daß der Königliche Same durch dieselbe Sache ausgewiesen würde, hier in Lukas, dem 17. Kapitel. “O, kehrt wieder zurück, o Zerstreute, zu eurem rechtmäßigen Besitz.”
E-86 Jeder von uns kann diesem Gott glauben. Wenn ihr an Gott glaubt, dann wißt ihr, daß Gott die Kranken heilt. Das ist keine Frage. Aber wenn ihr nicht glaubt, daß... Ihr wißt, sie sagten damals: “Jehova, wir wissen, Er kann heilen, aber Er kann nicht retten.” Jetzt: “Er kann retten, aber Er kann nicht heilen.” Seht, gerade derselbe Teufel, dieselbe Sache. Er ist beides, Heiler und Erlöser. Er ist Jehova Jireh und Jehova Rapha.
O, kehrt wieder zurück! Denkt daran, Er verhieß diese Position, wie sich alles in der Weise einstellen würde, wie es jetzt ist; das, was stattfinden würde. Er sagte, es würde geschehen, und es muß geschehen.
E-87 Leute, es tut mir leid. Ich habe euch jetzt bis spät festgehalten. Laßt uns für einen Augenblick unsere Häupter neigen, ich werde... Ich werde dieses vielleicht morgen abend zu Ende bringen. Ich habe ungefähr sechs weitere Seiten hier mit Notizen. Neigt eure Häupter gerade einen Augenblick. Seid ehrfürchtig, jedermann.
Ihr mögt mit mir nicht übereinstimmen; ihr habt ein Recht dazu. Ich habe ein Recht, das auszudrücken, was ich meine. Ich habe die Schrift genommen. Nun, ganz gleich, was ich sagen würde, wenn Gott das nicht bestätigt, dann arbeitet das Urim-Tummim nicht, dann ist es abgelehnt worden. Ganz gleich, wie gut es klingt und wie wahr es klingt, das Urim-Tummim muß es beweisen. Der Same muß lebendig werden. Wenn er es nicht wird, dann war es nicht so.
E-88 Nun, die Heilung betreffend, ich habe versucht, euch zu sagen, daß ich kein Heiler bin. Es gibt viele Menschen, die sich selbst als Heiler bezeichnen. Dann gibt es viele Kritiker, die Menschen als Heiler bezeichnen, einfach um zu kritisieren. Ihr Herz ist mit Gott nicht in Ordnung. Seht? Jeder weiß, daß kein Mensch einen anderen heilen kann. Gott heilt die Krankheit. Laß Gott dich rufen zum Sterben, und du bete soviel du willst, und im Krankenhaus gebe man dir täglich eine Spritze mit einer bestimmten Flüssigkeit, und du wirst trotzdem sterben.
E-89 Wenn ich heute abend meine Hand abschlage und hier stehe mit einer abgeschlagenen Hand, es gibt in der Welt keine Medizin, die meine Hand heilen kann. Wir haben keine Medizin, die heilt. Keine Medizin heilt. Jeder Arzt wird euch das sagen. Sie hält die Wunde nur rein, während Gott heilt. Ich kann kein Zellgewebe machen, wenn ich meine Hand abschlage. “Oh”, sagt ihr, “ja, Bruder Branham, es gibt Medizin, die das heilt.” In Ordnung, ich möchte wissen, was es ist.
Laßt es mich euch beweisen. Wenn ich meine Hand abschneiden würde und hier tot umfiele, dann könnte ein Arzt kommen und meinen Körper einbalsamieren und mich für fünfzig Jahre natürlich aussehen lassen. Er könnte meine Hand annähen und mich dort herausholen und mir jeden Tag eine Spritze Penicillin geben, und von jetzt ab in fünfzig Jahren wäre der Schnitt genauso wie er war, als er gemacht wurde. Wenn Medizin gemacht wurde, um einen Schnitt zu heilen, warum heilt sie ihn nicht? Jede Medizin, die einen Schnitt in meiner Hand heilt, wird einen Schnitt auf diesem Pult heilen, würde einen Schnitt in meinem Jackett heilen. Wenn sie einen Schnitt heilen würde, würde sie einen Schnitt heilen ganz gleich, woran er ist. “Nun”, sagt ihr, “wieso, Medizin wurde gemacht für menschliche Wesen.” Warum heilt es dann nicht? “Nun”, sagt ihr, “das Leben ist aus dir herausgegangen.” Dann ist also noch etwas anderes außer der Medizin, was heilt.
Es ist Leben, sicherlich, und Leben ist Gott. Sicher, das ist es. Jedoch, einige sind Sünder, sind damit entstellt, aber trotzdem seid ihr im Bilde Gottes. Und das Leben, das ihr habt, hat Gott euch gegeben. Ihr wißt das; nein, denn Gott ist der Heiler. Das Leben ist der Heiler. Ihr glaubt das, seht. Ihr habt so viel geschehen sehen!
E-90 Nun, laßt uns Ihn einfach aufnehmen, wollt ihr es nicht tun? Bevor wir das tun, frage ich, wieviele hier drinnen überzeugt sind... Wenn ihr hier Fremde seid, ihr seid hier noch nie gewesen, daß ihr glaubt, daß Er der Sohn Gottes ist? Und hierdurch, durch die Botschaft heute abend, das Wort alleine, selbst bevor Er irgend etwas tut, daß ihr Es glaubt, und ihr möchtet, daß ich eurer im Gebet gedenke, erhebt eure Hand. Wollt ihr es tun? O my! Drei-oder vierhundert Hände. Gott segne euch.
„Glaube kommt durch Hören, Hören des Wortes.” Der Grund, weshalb ich das sagte, der Same wird Gunst vor Gott finden. Ich denke jetzt, anstatt eine Gebetsreihe hier aufzurufen, möchte ich, daß ihr einfach betet.
E-91 Laßt mich euch zuerst eine Schriftstelle geben. Was wir tun, muß schriftgemäß sein. Es muß schriftgemäß sein! Gott wird nichts anderes honorieren. Gott wird keine Lüge honorieren; ihr wißt das. Ihr könntet das nicht mit Ihm verbinden. Er honoriert keine Lügen. Er ehrt nur Sein Wort. Aber Er verhieß, daß “Mein Wort nicht leer zu Mir zurückkommen wird. Es wird ausführen, wozu Es gesandt wurde.” Und wir sehen das Wort, das heute zugeteilt wurde. Ganz gleich, wieviel Unglaube sich in dem Lager erhebt, Gott wird Sein Wort ehren, wenn Er Glauben findet, durch den Er Es ehrt.
E-92 Nun, irgendwo im Gebäude, ich möchte, daß ihr diese Schriftstelle nehmt. Hebräer, das 3. Kapitel. Ich glaube, das ist es. Die Bibel sagt: “Er ist der Hohepriester, gerade jetzt, der berührt werden kann mit dem Gefühl unserer Schwachheit.”
Und ihr, die ihr eure Hand erhoben hattet, ich möchte, daß ihr, sobald der Gottesdienst hier zu Ende geht, heraufkommt und euch hier herum aufstellt und für euch beten laßt und Christus als euren Erretter aufnehmt. Wählt euren Weg zu einer der feinen Gemeinden hier in der Nähe. Es ist gleich, wo es ist, jemand, der das Evangelium predigt, geht zu ihnen und bittet um die christliche Taufe. Und der Pastor wird von da an die Verantwortung für euch übernehmen. Er ist Gottes Mann. Er ist berufen, um Gottes Mann zu sein, er wird von da an die Verantwortung für euch tragen. So, als ob ich hier in der Stadt wäre, ich würde zu irgendeiner dieser Gemeinden gehören. Ich käme zu denen, die das Evangelium glauben, ich würde dort sein. Gewiß, ich würde mich mit ihnen identifizieren. Nun, das ist es, was ihr tun müßt. Das benötigt ihr.
E-93 Nun, wenn Er der Hohepriester ist, der mit dem Gefühl unserer Schwachheit berührt werden kann, nun, Er ist Derselbe gestern, heute und für immer; deshalb würde Er genauso handeln müssen wie Er es gestern tat.
Nun, beachtet, eine kleine Frau berührte einmal Sein Gewand, und Er wandte Sich um und wußte, was sie hatte und sagte ihr, ihr Glaube hätte sie gerettet. Und sie fühlte es in sich selbst; sie machte sich überhaupt keine Mühe, es zu beweisen. Sie mußte es nicht beweisen.
Ihr beweist die Dinge nicht. Ihr glaubt Gott. Seht? Ihr beweist Gott nicht, nicht im Geringsten. Ihr könnt nicht beweisen, daß euer Leben gerettet wird; es gibt einen Gott, geht gerade hier hinaus und sagt: “Laß mich Ihn sehen.” Seht, ihr müßt Ihm glauben.
E-94 Die ganze Rüstung Gottes ist übernatürlich. Liebe, Freude, Glaube, Langmut, Geduld, Sanftmut, seht, alles übernatürlich. Wir sehen auf Dinge, die ihr mit eurem natürlichen Auge nicht sehen könnt.
Und Christus ist heute abend hier. Er verhieß es. “Wo immer zwei oder drei in Meinem Namen versammelt sind, da bin Ich mitten unter ihnen. Da bin Ich!” Der “Ich” wieder, Er ist hier. Nun, “Er ist Derselbe gestern, heute und für immer.”
Ihr betet und sagt: “Herr Jesus, ich bin krank”, oder was immer ihr bedürft. “Ich bin bedürftig, und ich möchte, lieber Gott, daß Du mir gnädig sein mögest und mich heilen und gesund machen möchtest. Und jetzt, wenn ich genug Glauben habe, Herr, um Dich zu berühren... Ich weiß, daß Bruder Branham mich nicht kennt. Ich bin fremd. Und ich weiß, daß er mich nicht kennt. Nun, wenn dieser Mann mir die Wahrheit gesagt hat, was ich glaube, daß sie es ist, denn es kommt gerade aus Deinem Wort. Ich habe es gelesen, ich erkenne, daß es einfach vollkommen wahrheitsgemäß aussieht. Jetzt bestätige es. Ich beanspruche, ein Same Abrahams zu sein durch Jesus Christus. Ich beanspruche, der Königliche Same zu sein, der an Jesus Christus glaubt, der Königliche Same. Und ich glaube, ein Teil Seiner Braut von Seiner Gemeinde zu sein, für die Er kommt. Ich bin krank und bedürftig. Bitte, Herr Jesus, laß mich Dein Gewand berühren. Und bestätige es mir, indem Du durch Bruder Branham sprichst, wie Er verhieß, daß es wie in den Tagen Sodoms sein würde. Laß ihn mir sagen, was ich denke, wofür ich bete, was ich möchte, was meine Bedürfnisse sind; etwas über mich.” Tut es; tut es einfach.
E-95 Himmlischer Vater, jetzt ist es alles in Deinen Händen. Nun, dieses ist alles, was ich tun kann oder irgendein anderer Mensch; ich kann nur sagen, was Du hier gesagt hast, die Wahrheit. Jetzt bestätige es, Herr, daß es die Wahrheit ist. Ich habe von Dir gesprochen. Sage, daß ich die Wahrheit gesagt habe. In dem Namen Jesu Christi. Amen.
E-96 Ich möchte, daß ihr einfach glaubt, habt jetzt Glauben. Jetzt bewege sich niemand herum. Sitzt eben recht ehrfürchtig da. Ich möchte, daß ihr euch vorstellt, daß hier irgendwo Christus vor euch steht, von den Toten auferstanden; Er kam einmal gerade durch die Wände, aß Brot und sagte: “Fühlt Mich an, Ich habe Fleisch und Bein”, und verschwand gerade vor ihnen. Nun, Er verhieß, daß Er in den letzten Tagen wieder in der Gestalt von menschlichem Fleisch erscheinen werde, in eurem Fleisch, wie Er es zu der Zeit Sodoms tat. Gott, Welcher Christus war, kundgetan im Fleisch, jetzt in Seiner Gemeinde, Seiner Braut. Seht, sie kommen zusammen. Es ist eine Vereinigungszeit. Kirchen vereinigen sich, Nationen vereinigen sich und die Braut und Christus vereinigen sich. Seht, es ist Vereinigungszeit.
E-97 Jetzt glaubt nur einfach. Werdet nicht nervös und versucht, etwas zu pressen, dann werdet ihr nichts bekommen. Sagt einfach demütig: “Herr, ich glaube.” Irgend jemand tue das.
Wieviele sitzen vor mir, besonders die, die Ich nicht kenne. Nun, ich kenne diese Männer hier und diese hier. Ich kenne einige, die hier sitzen. Wie ist es gerade hiermit, gerade mir gegenüber? Möge diese kleine Gruppe hier geweiht sein. Wieviele haben niemals gesehen, wie Christus Sich auf diese Weise zu erkennen gab, durch... Laßt uns eure Hände sehen: “Ich habe es niemals gesehen.” Ich glaube, jedermann hat es gesehen. In Ordnung.
Betet jetzt. Seid jetzt ehrfürchtig. Ich weiß nicht, daß Er es tun wird. Ich kann das nicht sagen. Es ist Ihm überlassen. Wird es bewirken, daß ihr glaubt, sehr stark? Der Herr hört das. Er weiß alle Dinge.
E-98 Der Mann, der gerade hier sitzt, leidet an einem Bruch. Glaubst du, daß Gott diesen Bruch heilen wird? Glaubst du? Wir sind einander fremd, vermute ich, du und ich. Ich kenne dich nicht. Ich habe dich nie gesehen. Aber wenn es das ist, weswegen du gebetet hast, erhebe deine Hand. Wenn das stimmt, erhebe deine Hand, dieser Mann, der dort sitzt...
Glaubst du, wie Andreas zu Simon gesagt hat zu kommen und zu sehen, daß sie den Messias gefunden haben, und wie er hinaufkam in die Gegenwart des Herrn Jesus? Daß du jetzt mit Etwas in Kontakt bist, dein Gebet. Seht, Er sagte ihm, wer er war. Glaubst du, daß Gott mir sagen könnte, wer du bist? Wenn du es glaubst, Er kann es tun. Würde das dich ermutigen, von ganzem Herzen zu glauben? Würden die anderen von euch es auch in dieser Weise tun?
Jetzt hat der Mann seine Hände erhoben, daß was immer ihm gesagt wurde... Ich weiß es nicht. Ich muß das Tonband laufen lassen, seht. Was immer es war, war richtig. Stimmt das, Herr? In Ordnung. Was immer es war, ist richtig.
Herr Shepherd, glaube von ganzem Herzen. “Wenn du glauben könntest.”
Nun, das ist nicht mehr, als was Er sagte: “Dein Name ist Simon, Sohn des Jonas.” Nun, wenn du einfach glauben wirst, das ist alles, was nötig ist. Seht? Er verhieß das. Er gab diese Verheißung. Das beweist, daß Er hier ist. Nicht nur ich; Er ist in euch. Er ist in Seinem Leib von Gläubigen.
E-99 Kleine Dame, weinend und betend, mit geneigtem Haupt. Du leidest an Krebs. Wenn du dich nicht fürchtest und glauben wirst, Gott wird dich gesund machen, wenn du es glauben kannst. Sie wird es verpassen, sicher wie.... Frau Hood, glaube jetzt von ganzem Herzen, daß Jesus Christus dich gesund macht, und du kannst haben, worum du gebeten hast. Wirst du es jetzt glauben von ganzem Herzen? In Ordnung. Amen.

Dieser Mann dort mit Hämorrhoiden, glaubst du, daß Gott diese Hämorrhoiden heilen kann und dich gesund machen kann? Stehe auf.
Was denkst du darüber, der du neben ihm dort sitzst, mit einem Bruch? Glaubst du, daß Gott den Bruch heilen kann und dich gesund machen kann?
Die Dame gerade neben deinem Arm dort leidet an Kopfschmerzen. Es ist jetzt vorbei, nicht wahr? Sieh, dein Glaube hat es gemacht. Das ist alles, was ihr tun müßt, einfach glauben.
E-100 Hier ist eine Dame mit Diabetes. Glaubst du, daß Gott dich gesund machen wird, Dame, die du dort mit Diabetes sitzst? Glaubst du, daß Gott mir sagen kann, wer du bist? Glaubst du? Frau Robinson. Das ist dein Name.
Lege deine Hand dort hinüber auf ihn wegen dem Bruch, vielleicht wird Gott ihn auch heilen. Wenn du es glaubst! Wirst du es tun? In Ordnung, Herr.
Die Dame, die neben dir sitzt, lege deine Hand auf sie, Herr, sie hat Neuritis. Glaubst du, daß Gott die Neuritis heilen wird und dich gesund machen wird? Du glaubst es, du kannst deine Heilung auch haben. Du mußt es glauben.
E-101 Nun, das ist Bestätigung. Gott machte die Verheißung, jetzt, wieviele glauben, daß Christus hier ist? Glaubt ihr es? Nun, ihr alle, jetzt in Seiner Gegenwart, die ihr Gnade von Ihm haben möchtet, die Gnade für ihre Seele haben möchten, und ihr möchtet Ihn jetzt aufnehmen, während ihr gerade in Seiner Gegenwart seid, sie ist ausgewiesen.
Ein Mann könnte hier hereinkommen mit Nägelmalen in seinen Händen und mit Dornenabdrücken und sagen: “Ich bin der Herr.” Jeder alte Heuchler kann das tun. Aber das Leben! Der Körper des Herrn Jesus sitzt zur rechten Hand der Majestät; wenn Er kommt, ist keine Zeit mehr, wenn dieser Körper zur Erde wieder zurückkehrt. Aber Sein Geist ist hier, Sein Leben gibt den Beweis, daß Er hier ist. Seht? “Ich werde mit euch sein, selbst in euch bis ans Ende der Welt.”
E-102 Und ihr möchtet von Ihm jetzt Gnade haben, möchtet ihr eben aufstehen zu einem Wort des Gebetes? Überall im Gebäude, ihr, die ... wo immer ihr seid, möchtet ihr aufstehen? Gott segne euch, ganz weit dort hinten. Das ist richtig, bleibt stehen. Steht einfach auf, das ist alles, was ich von euch möchte. Steht einfach für eine Minute, wegen des Gebetes. Wenn ihr wegen Ihm stehen werdet! Wenn ihr euch Seiner jetzt schämt, wird Er Sich eurer schämen vor dem Vater, und wenn ihr Ihn jetzt gerne bekennen wollt, wird Er euch bekennen vor dem Vater. “Ich möchte Christus jetzt als meinen Erretter aufnehmen. Ich möchte, daß Er mich gerade jetzt erfüllt mit Seinem Geist. Ich möchte Ihn haben.” Bleibt einfach für einen Moment stehen zum Gebet, wenn ihr möchtet. Steht auf. Das ist in Ordnung. Ich fühle mich geleitet, dieses zu tun, diesen Altarruf zu geben... Dieses ist ein Altarruf. Steht auf. Wir haben keinen Altar, zu dem wir kommen. Euer Herz ist der Altar. Zieht einfach allen Unglauben weg und wisset, daß Er jetzt hier ist. Steht auf, ihr, die ihr jetzt gerade Christus aufnehmen möchtet in der göttlichen Gegenwart, die ihr fühlt, die jetzt bestätigt ist.
Laßt uns jetzt unsere Häupter beugen.
E-103 Herr Jesus, sie sind Dein. Du sagtest: “Kein Mensch kann zu Mir kommen, es sei denn, Mein Vater zieht ihn.” Und nun gemäß der Wissenschaft, sie könnten noch nicht einmal ihre Hand erheben; das Gesetz der Schwerkraft sagt, daß unsere Hände herunterhängen müssen. Aber in ihnen ist ein Leben, und das Leben wurde dem Ewigen Leben, Christus, nahegebracht. Und sie haben in ihrem Herzen eine Entscheidung gemacht, daß sie fertig sind mit der Welt. Und sie haben ihre Hände erhoben und stehen auf ihren Füßen, dem Gesetz der Schwerkraft zum Trotz, daß es da drinnen ein Leben gibt. So trotzen wir dem Gesetz der Welt und des Unglaubens!
In dem Namen Jesu Christi, sie sind Dein. Sie sind Liebesgaben des Evangeliums. Sie sind Andenken von der Botschaft heute abend und Deiner großen Gegenwart mit uns. Setze ihre Namen in das Lebensbuch des Lammes dort, Herr. Wir beten, daß jeder von ihnen dort sein möge, als Deine Kinder, Deine Geliebten.
Fülle sie mit dem Heiligen Geist Gottes, in ihre Herzen hinein. Möge ihr Leben so mit der Kraft des allmächtigen Gottes beladen sein, daß Demut und Liebe und Freundlichkeit und Sanftmut von ihnen fließen möge und ein Eifer, um andere gerettet zu sehen, die einmal in ihrem Zustand waren. Gewähre es, Herr.
Das einzige, was wir tun können, Herr, ist zu glauben. Und sie standen als ein Gedenkzeichen ihres Glaubens. Und jetzt mit meinem Glauben und ihrem Glauben zusammen legen wir es auf Deinen Altar durch Glauben. Und sie sind das Opfer, das dort liegt, wartend auf den geopferten Sohn Gottes, um sie in Sein Königreich aufzunehmen. Gewähre es, Herr. Gerade jetzt mögen sie Dein sein, in dem Namen Jesu Christi.
E-104 Nun, ihr, die ihr an Ihn von ganzem Herzen glaubt, die ihr steht, erhebt eure Hand und sagt: “Ich glaube Ihm. Ich nehme Ihn gerade jetzt auf als meinen Erlöser, und ich suche die Taufe des Heiligen Geistes.” Erhebt eure Hand. Gott segne euch.
Jetzt mögt ihr euch setzen.
Und ich möchte, daß ihr jetzt euren Weg findet zu irgendeiner Gemeinde, jetzt gleich.
Morgen abend werden wir eine Versammlung haben für die Taufe des Heiligen Geistes, morgen abend, gerade hier im Gebäude. Nun, es gibt viel Fanatismus, was sie als die Taufe des Heiligen Geistes bezeichnen, aber das bedeutet nicht, daß es keinen echten Heiligen Geist gibt. Es gibt einen wirklichen echten Heiligen Geist Gottes, eben Derselbe. Und ich glaube, daß Er uns hier morgen abend begegnen wird.
E-105 Nun, wieviele im Gebäude sind überzeugt davon, daß wir in der Endzeit sind? Wieviele sind überzeugt, daß dieses die Wahrheit ist, daß das Wort in dieser Weise sein sollte in den letzten Tagen? Erhebt eure Hand. Wieviele von euch sind Gläubige? Winkt mit eurer Hand. In Ordnung. Jesus sagte diese Worte: “Diese Zeichen werden folgen denen, die glauben, wenn ihr ein Gläubiger seid.”
Wieviele brauchen Christus für ihren Leib? Erhebt eure Hände. In Ordnung, ihr Gläubige, die ihr neben ihnen sitzt, legt einer dem anderen die Hände auf. Und so, wie ihr in eurer Gemeinde betet, so betet hier. Betet nicht für euch selbst. Ihr betet für sie; sie beten für euch. Und die Bibel sagt: “Sie werden die Hände auf die Kranken legen, sie werden gesund werden.” Jetzt betet so, wie ihr es tut, und mit einer Verheißung.
Herr Jesus, sie sind Dein. Empfange sie in Dein Königreich. Und heile jeden einzelnen, Herr; und diese Taschentücher. In dem Namen des Herrn Jesus Christus, gewähre es, Herr. Satan hat seinen Halt verloren. Möge die Kraft des Allmächtigen Gottes jeden einzelnen heilen.

E-2 Heavenly Father, we're grateful, tonight, for the opportunity that we have, to come again to the house of worship, where we have present ourselves and our problems to You, that You promised to meet us here under the shed Blood. The only provided place that God has ever had that a sinner, or anyone could meet God, was under the shed Blood. So we come in the Name of the Lord Jesus, knowing that You promised it. If we'd ask anything in that Name, it should be given. We believe You, Father. Help our unbelief. We pray that our gathering together, tonight, will be to the glory of God, that God might be honored, and His Name be recognized among the people. For we ask it in Jesus' Name, the Son of God. Amen.

E-3 Deem this a privilege to be here again tonight, and see this nice group of people gathered out here. I believe, they said it was a stock exhibit. I've held meetings, pretty near, all kinds of places around the world. I remember out in California, I've had two or three meetings there at the Cow Palace, they call it. And from different sizes, a little room that hold five or six people, up to the largest gathering we ever had a one time, was Bombay, five hundred thousand at one gathering.
E-4 But, Bombay, a great thing, our Lord saved many people. If we could just got the churches to have a cooperation, they could take those Hindu's and so forth. And that was really, what we call, "unbelievers." Anything that doesn't believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, we call that an "unbeliever." And there was literally thousands that accepted Christ, but you could… just couldn't get to them.
E-5 Then at Durban, South Africa, we registered there, the people, thirty thousand on one altar call, one afternoon. Where, the next day, the mayor, Sidney Smith, of Durban, with about seven or eight of those great British vans were just piled full of old crutches and things that the people had walked on, for hundreds of miles. Or, they brought them for weeks, down through the jungles, on carriers. They was piled all full of that.
E-6 The mayor called me, said, "Go to your window that faces the Indian Ocean, out there at the hotel," said, "and you'll see something you never seen before."
E-7 And here was those big vans just piled up with, what we would call, crutches and carriers, and so forth, to carry their loved ones out of the jungle. And the people that was on them, the day before, was walking behind the van, singing Only Believe in their native language. It was certainly a thrilling sight to see that.
E-8 And in there was doctors. Many of them examined the cases, to be sure that they was right. We don't want to publish nothing, or print nothing, 'less it can be proven, the truth. Must be proven!
E-9 Just got a letter from a… while ago. It just come to me. Is a special, a famous doctor in Indiana. He's Catholic, by faith. And his son is a priest in the Saint Meinrad monastery at Jasper, Indiana. This was Dr. C. Ackerman. And I happened to meet him on a hunting trip, once. And he had been hunting for eleven years, for an elk. He failed to get one. And that night, we set till almost two o'clock, talking about the Lord.
E-10 I heard this doctor was up there at the camp. So when I got up there, I was expecting to see somebody arrogant and indifferent. But I met a mighty fine, sweet type of a man. He walked up, said, "Are you Brother Branham?"
And I said, "Yes, sir, I am."
And he shook my hand. He said, "I'm Dr. Ackerman."
I said, "Well, I'm certainly glad to know you."
E-11 We got to talking about God, and about how that if He ever was God, He has to remain God, or He never was God. See? A historical God is no good today, if He isn't the same to the people today as He was then.
E-12 So, about three o'clock, we, oh, the—the guide woke us up. And was… I was guiding, also, so we were going to take a trip, take our men out to different places where we guide. On the road down, Dr. Ackerman was lotted to me.
E-13 And on the road down, he stopped, little bit before daylight. Put his hand on my shoulder, said, "Brother Branham?"
I said, "Yes, sir, doctor."
E-14 He said, "I'm thoroughly convinced of Jesus Christ." He said, "I got a boy, you know, is a priest here at the monastery."
And I said, "Yes, sir."
E-15 He said, "I'm Catholic, by faith. I guess that's the church." He said, "I believe if—if He ever was God, He's God of all people."
E-16 I said, "That's exactly right. He created all men. And by one Blood He made all nations."
E-17 And he said, "Yes, sir, I believe that." Said, "I've read your books." He said, "I'm confiding this. I believe, if you'll ask God, to give me an elk today, I'll get it." Said, "Eleven years I've hunted for them; been caught in snow storms."
E-18 I said, "I'll ask the Lord to give you one, doctor. That's all I can do." And when I asked Him, prayed for him. I said, "Doctor, at exactly nine o'clock, this morning, the Lord gives you a—a five-point bull elk."
And he said, "I believe it."
That's all he has to do. "If you believe it."
E-19 So, a friend and I, climbed up on the hill, and watched the watch. At nine o'clock the gun fired. He had the five-point bull elk. We went and helped him bring it in.
E-20 He brings his patients to be prayed for. I just got a special just now, that he has got a cancer case, a woman dying with cancer, he'd like to fly in here. But I'm going home, after tomorrow, after, day after tomorrow. So I told him, just wait till we got in there, we'd pray for the woman when we got there.
E-21 So, see, many, if the case can be presented to the person sensibly! Divine healing has been made so much talk about, and so much fanaticism hooked into it, like there is in everything else. Any—any kind of a religion or anything, you get fanatics.
E-22 Even in the Mohammedans, you find there is, and the Hindus. You find somebody there, old hypocrite clowning for some tourists, laying on nails and so forth, glass. But back in the interior, is a man who really believes in that. He's doing that for sacrifice.
E-23 And—and we find that in everything. We find fanaticism. Even a fanatic eater eats too much. Or, or, anything!
E-24 But if the case is really presented in the Scripture, then there's nothing can… I find more believing doctors than I do believing ministers. I do. I really do. More believe.
E-25 I been interviewed at Mayo's. If you all know it, it's been paper-wide, and everything. And fine clinics of doctors everywhere. There's nothing. They believe it. I—I've had doctors to come tell me, like at the interview there, said, "We don't claim to be healers. We claim to assist nature. There's only one healer; that's God."
E-26 How many read Reader's Digest, of that little Donny Morton, that they signed to it, "was healed"? And, "The miracle of Donny Morton," Reader's Digest. So, that, that had me in on interview on that. That little boy been given up by Mayo's, Hopkins, and all of them. And the Lord Jesus healed him, made him well.
E-27 And Florence Nightingale, late Florence Nightingale's great-granddaughter, London, England. She was flown from Durban, South Africa.
E-28 And the thing has been misrepresented. Just like the… like a many times in…
E-29 And the Christianity is misrepresented to people. Christianity has been represented to people as a declaration of creed. Christianity is a living Being, Jesus Christ, the resurrected God, that's alive and among us now. Christianity is a Person, not a creed. "To know Him is Life." Not even know His Word; that isn't Life. "Know Him," and He is the Word.
E-30 A fellow said to me, not long ago, he said… I was just discussing about the what we thought about a certain Scripture in the Bible. This fellow was quite a scholar. He said, "Well, you just don't know your Bible."
E-31 I said, "I know the Author real well." So, that's the main thing, if I know Him. He will take care of the rest of it. "To know Him is Life."
E-32 And, now, tomorrow morning, in the building here, there, my public relation man, Dr. Lee Vayle, is here. There's questions in your mind, come, he'll answer it, do anything that he can, to help you. Dr. Vayle is here. I believe he is somewhere in the back the building now. Very fine scholar, and a very well-trained man for the job. So, if anybody has got a question, or anything, and instead of just trying to ask it now, in a public meeting like this, why, see Dr. Vayle. He'd be glad to talk over anything that—that you'd like to talk over with him. And then he has a service here, in the morning. And we'd be glad to—to meet the people here.
E-33 And, then, Sunday morning will be Sunday school, throughout the city. We do not—do not try to take Sunday, Sunday morning or Sunday afternoon, in the auditorium here, because it's—it's not right.
E-34 You see, the churches, you, your duty is at your—your church. And when the church is having services, that—that should be your place. And we don't want anyone to come out, when you got your own post of duty to attend. If your church is having revival, and we happen to get into the city where you have revival, we don't mean to do that, not at all. We're here in Christian fellowship, tolerance, for good will towards all people, all churches. We do not…
E-35 I don't belong to any organization, at all. I don't belong to any organization. I—I just a Christian. And I, what influence I have, I just try to use it to—to honor Christ, and to bring sinners to repentance. And it's all that I know to do. Hoping, at that Day, and trusting that He will say, "It was well done." And that's the words I want to say… hear Him say.
E-36 I've often wondered. I liked to heard Him when He stood and stretched His arms that day, and say, "Come unto Me, all ye that labour and heavy laden." Now, that was past. But, "Well done, My good and faithful servant," will be in the future. And, I, I'm living to hear that said.
E-37 And now, then, Sunday afternoon, we're going to pray for the sick. Sometimes people refer to that as healing services. Now, it isn't a healing service. It's prayer for the sick. See? We pray for the sick. And, usually, that's when the things take place, is when we pray for the sick.
E-38 I want every minister, throughout the country, around anywhere, that believes, to come, be sure to come Sunday afternoon, stand with us while we're praying for the sick. Regardless of what your denominational is, or whatever it is, we don't care about that. Surely, you have feeling for your people, and for the people that's God's people, and people who want to be healed.
E-39 Remember, when you're sick, your first duty is to see your doctor and see what he says. And then if he diagnoses the case of something that—that he cannot; science, science has not been able to reveal to him any help for you, then you have a right to come to God. He is the great Physician. And then…
E-40 And pray, and have prayer prayed over you. They do it, should do it, in every Christian church. Perhaps, they do here. I don't know. But most of the places, Christians pray for their sick. Presbyterians and many of them are having great healing campaigns throughout the north, and different parts of the country, praying for the sick, and having great success; Presbyterian, Lutheran, Methodist, many of them.
E-41 Their great revival started with healing campaigns. And so they got away from it, of course. The new group comes in, they, bunch of men gets together and divides It up the way they want to, and then there goes away from It, you see, get right back to that creed, like Pharisees and Sadducees of the time of the Lord Jesus.
E-42 But now, every minister is invited, Sunday afternoon, to come and be with me, and—and help me as we pray for the sick. Bring out your sick and afflicted.
E-43 Now, we're trying now to let people to find sinners that doesn't know our Lord, that doesn't realize that He is not dead. He is living. He, He is not dead. He is alive, forevermore. And He said, "Because I live, you live also." What a promise, and what a consolation, when we see the time nearing!
E-44 All real Christians believe that the second Coming of Christ is near. How far away, we don't know. Did you see Alaska having a couple more earthquakes today? One of them, as hard as the first one was, only didn't shake it down. You know, Jesus said them kind of things would take place just before His Coming.
E-45 And, remember, these things that you're seeing happening here, the Word predicted they would be here, just the same as He predicted the earthquake. So, together, why can't we just put our hearts together, and knit it in God's Word, and believe with all of our hearts? All right.
E-46 Now, last night, we was… I took a text of Abraham, when he called the name of the Lord that appeared to him up there at the sacrifice of his son, where he was going to. The name was called Jehovah-Jireh, which is, "the Lord shall provide for Himself a sacrifice."
E-47 Now, tonight, I have a few Scriptures and notes, or two, wrote down here, that I'd like to leave—leave with you. Now, just before we do, let's pray just a moment, again.
E-48 Father, we pray that You will take Thy Word… "Thy Word is Truth." And the Bible said, Jesus speaking, said, "The Word is a Seed that a sower sowed." Now we realize that if a seed is a good seed, it's germinatized. And if that seed has been carried out, its plan in—in God's will, then it leaves a germinatized seed. And when Jesus was on earth, He was that Vine. And the seed that He sowed was His Word, and we know that it's germinatized by His Own Life.
E-49 And we know that a seed, when it falls in the right kind of ground; not upon rocks, with no root; nor in thorns and thistles, that would soon choke it out; but in good, rich, fertile faith. Every seed will bring forth of its kind.
E-50 And we know that every seed, or promise of God, will bring forth of its kind, what it promised, if it strikes the li-… right ground, the ground that's prepared, ready; all the—the rocks has been thrown out, and the roots, and the bitterness, and selfishness, and indifference, and jealousy, has all been grubbed out; that root of bitterness that springs up, that sometimes so spoils the thing that God is trying to do. We pray, God, that that won't be among us, but that the good Word will find good ground in these.
E-51 As we follow this great patriarch, Abraham, in the lesson tonight, may we find our position, knowing that we are children of Abraham, by faith in Christ. And, then, get glory to Thy Own Name and honor, for we ask it in Jesus Christ's Name. Amen.
E-52 We are going to kind of review back a little bit tonight, for the lesson of what we was speaking on last evening. That was, that, we have found Abraham beginning, in Genesis the 12th chapter. Really, his name was spoke in the 11th chapter, when his father came down from Babylon and they dwelt in—in Ur and this… the land of the Chaldeans.
E-53 And then we find that, also, that God called Abraham, just an ordinary man by the name of Abram. He wasn't Abraham yet. And, and Sarah, "Sarai," Sarah wasn't Sarah yet. So we find out, Sarai and Sarah was two different, was two different names. And Abram and Abraham was two different names.
E-54 Now we find that, in this, we brought him up last night, until the confirmation, that God confirmed to him the covenant, how He would prove to Abraham that He was going to keep His promise. That's found in this 15th chapter of Genesis. That how… And Abraham was called out in the evening, to take down, slay a calf or a young heifer, and a she goat, and a ram. And we got into that last night, how the two females and the male. And then the two doves, or pigeon and dove, which is the same family; and got the representation of that, that that always represented healing. Which, it never changed. Healing has always been by faith. But the atonement, of course, was divided from a animal life unto a human life.
E-55 Now, in the Old Testament, when the worshiper come with the blood. God only meets people under the shed Blood, the only place He ever did or ever will. He'll never meet you with your creed. He'll never meet you with your education. He'll meet you under the Blood; that is the only place. All Israel worshiped under the blood.
E-56 And we find there then, also, that we found (what?) back in the history of what, how a covenant was made by people, and we find out in the Orient type and different ways they make a covenant. And how we do today, by shaking hands, and so forth, and say, "Seal it!" And the Japanese throw salt on each other, for a covenant.
E-57 And—and traveling around the world, and you find much of the world still in the same condition it was back in them days, especially in the Orients and in the East. Your Bible becomes a new book if you ever go to the East, you'll never… back in Jerusalem, Palestine, back in there. You'll… The Bible, It's written in a… We're a English people over here, and the Western people, trying to understand an English book, so it's a very hard thing. If you go back there, you find out the marriage and everything, and just exactly the way they did it in the time of Christ. Many things there hasn't changed at all, in their customs and ways.
E-58 And now we, in this, we find that when they made this covenant in them days, they—they drew it out on a piece of sheepskin, or—or leather. And then they killed an animal, and stood between the pieces. And cut it, this their covenant, or in two, their words; pulled it in two, like that. [Brother Branham tears a piece of paper in two—Ed.] And when they come together, these had to dovetail exactly the very same. Had to meet, piece by piece, so it could not be duplicated. So therefore we find then, that, in our lesson last night, we found that what God did to prove to Abraham His covenant.
E-59 Now, Abraham, the promise was made to Abraham and his Seed after him. Not only Abraham, but his Seed. Now, now, the seed, natural seed of Abraham, was Isaac; but the spiritual Seed of Abraham's faith, was Christ. Not through Isaac, all the world was blessed; but through Christ, the Royal Seed, all the world was blessed, for He died for all people, all nations and all peoples.
E-60 Now we see in this, also, in this covenant, that He showed there what He would do, how God would tear apart Christ Jesus. And the body was raised up and sets on the right hand of God and the Majesty on High, and the Spirit of Christ was brought down upon the earth.
E-61 Now if we had time, you could prove that. Anything, one part of the Scripture says, it goes all the way through the Bible. If It doesn't, then there's—there's something wrong. The Old was just a shadow of the New, foreshadowing It. Then, if you get the shadow, you can pretty well tell what the New is. So that's where He was, is, and shall be.
E-62 Now this Spirit of Christ come back upon the Church, exactly fulfilled John 15 again, where He said, "I am the Vine, ye are the branches." And then again, John 14:12, "He that believeth in Me, the works that I do shall he do also," same works, same thing. On down through the Scripture! "If ye abide in Me, and My Word in you; ask what you will, it'll be given to you." Many things that Christ…
E-63 "A little while and the world seeth Me no more. The world," there the Greek word kosmos, which means world order, "sees Me no more. Yet ye shall see Me, for I," I being a personal pronoun, "I'll be with you, even in you, to the end of the world," making Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever. He—He—He remains. He raised from the dead. "The world, the unbeliever, won't see Me." They won't recognize It. But the believer will recognize Him, because He's the same Jesus that He always was. He hasn't changed. "Same yesterday, today, and forever!"
E-64 And now, and that Word, many people tries to make That like It's not inspired. Now, I want to say something here now, just come upon my mind.
E-65 And I do not believe that the pulpit is made for a place for jokes. This is no joking place. This is the sincerity. And as we see the Day of the Lord appearing, we should be that much more sincere.
E-66 But there was a—a story told me, sometime ago, of a—a young fellow that… This was at Boston, and he went away. He had had a fine mother, at first, to begin the story, and the mother certainly knowed her boy had a calling in his life, to serve the Lord. And that would—that would help any mother, ought to, any real mother, to know that their son… that God has honored them with a child that's going to preach the Gospel. That ought to be an asset to any mother's life. And so the poor mother, trying to do everything she could, she sent him away to school, and to a seminary, to receive his—his BA.
E-67 And so while he was away, the mother took seriously sick. And so she, as any Christian would do, they called the doctor. And the doctor… She had a double pneumonia. And the doctor tried all he could do for her, to—to check the pneumonia, and there was nothing. He had give her drugs of—of sulfur, penicillin, and so forth, to—to kill the germ, and it didn't take effect. The mother got worse, constantly. So they sent word to her son, which was way down at Asbury, Kentucky, to Wilmore College, to come and vis-… see her because she was going to die. And then the next morning, when the boy was getting ready to leave, they received a telegram, "Your mother is much better. Wait for further call."
E-68 About a year later, the woman had the privilege of seeing her son. He returned home on vacation and time off of his school. And he said, "Mother, I heard that you got all right," after they had had a little time of fellowship, as son and mother would. Said, "I—I never did understand just what drug the doctor changed, to cause your—your conditions to improve so quickly."
E-69 And she said, "Son, it—it wasn't that." She said, "You know where that little mission is down the street here, them people down there that…"
Said, "Yes, I remember that."
E-70 Said, "There is a lady said that she felt led to come up here and ask me if the pastor could come pray for me. And so I told her it was all right." So said, "The pastor come up and read it out of the Bible, 'If any among you, sick, call the elders, and anoint them with oil; pray over them. The prayer of faith shall save the sick.'" And said, "You know, he read that out of the Scripture, and he prayed for me and anointed me with oil. And—and the next morning, I was so much better till the doctor let me sit up. In a couple days I was all right." Well, he said… Said, "Oh, praise the Lord!" She said, "Son, you ought to…"
E-71 He said, "Mother, you are beginning to act like those people." Said, "Listen, mother." Said, "We have learned up at the school that where he read there, the second Scripture he read was in Mark 16, where, 'These signs shall follow them that believe. They'll lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.'" Said, "We learned up there at school that Mark 16, from the 9th verse on, is not inspired." Said, "You see, those people don't go to school, most of them down there. They're uneducated, kind of an illiterate people." Said, "They—they mean well, no doubt." But said, "We learned at school that, from the 9th verse on, that was just added, perhaps by the Vatican or something, but," said, "because that that part is not inspired."
E-72 The little mother let out a great big, "Hallelujah!" And so she said…
He said, "Mother! Well, what makes you say that?"
E-73 Said, "I was just thinking, son, if God could heal me with the uninspired Word, what really could He do with that is really inspired?"
E-74 So—so such is the other promises. "Ask anything in My Name, I'll do it." "If you say to this mountain, 'Be moved,' and don't doubt in your heart, but believe that what you have said will come to pass, you can have what you've said." "When you pray, believe you receive what you ask for, and it shall be given to you." See, It's all inspired, every bit of it.
E-75 When Morris Reidhead, a very fine scholar, come to my house. He received the baptism of the Holy Spirit; fell across a little coffee table in the house. He said to me, said, "Brother Branham, I understand that you was a—a… You're a Baptist."
E-76 And I said, "Well, I just was ordained, the Missionary Baptist church, as a boy; I don't belong to…"
E-77 Said, "Well, what's these Pentecostals you're hanging around with?"
I said, "They're just people like you and I."
E-78 He said, "Well, listen," said, "do you think that's the Holy Ghost what they got?"
I said, "Sure."
He said, "Why all the kicking and stomping and hollering?"
E-79 I said, "Well, they got to blow the steam out the whistle. If they don't put it to use, make the wheels roll." I said, "You just ever get—get them to learn what it's all about, instead of just blowing it out that way. Put it to work, faith, out on the street, trying to get people in, into the Kingdom of God."
E-80 And he said, "Well, I've seen them do all that." Said, "I'll tell you why I'm here." Said, "A fine boy from India," said, "he got his education and school." Said, "I, when I went to leave, take him to the plane, to put him on the plane, to start him back overseas, I said to him, I said, 'Son, now you got your education, going back to your people… '" I think he studied at… I don't… I think electronics.
E-81 He said then, said, when he started back, he said, "Why don't you re-… forsake that old dead prophet, Mohammed, and get a real resurrected Jesus Christ in your heart?"
And he said, "Sir, I want to ask you something."
E-82 Now remember, this is from one of the greatest Bible schools, fundamental schools, this guy was one of their teachers.
E-83 He said, "What could your Jesus do for me any more than my prophet can do?"
E-84 He said, "Well," he said, "my Jesus can give you Eternal Life."
E-85 He said, "My, the Koran promises the same thing." The Koran is the Mohammedan Bible, you know. Said, "It promises the same thing."
He said, "Well," he said, "yeah, I…"
E-86 Said, "You know, the Koran didn't promise nothing. Mohammed promised nothing but—but life after death." He said, "Jesus promised you teachers, that, 'These signs and wonders would follow.' Said, "That's what Jesus said." And he said, "We're waiting to see that done, see you teachers produce it." Think of it!
E-87 He said to me, "Right then," he said, "I realized I hadn't met a overnight boy. And I know… One who knowed what he was talking about." He might play it off. But that's a good way to do it, let the enemy jump onto you one time like that and then you don't know where to go. See? So he said, "I realized that that wasn't an overnight boy."
E-88 And he said—he said, "Well, now look here. Jesus is raised from the dead."
E-89 He said, "Has He?" Said, "You've had two thousand years to prove it, and not hardly that two-thirds of the earth never heard of Him. Now what's the matter with you people?" He said, "Let Mohammed raise from the dead, and the whole world would know it in twenty-four hours." And that's right.
E-90 See, they got a horse standing at his grave. I've seen it there. They change guards about every four hours, expecting him to raise, yet. In type there, coming on a white horse, see, to conquer the world.
E-91 And so he said, "Let—let him raise from the dead, and the whole world will know it."
E-92 He said, "Well, Jesus did raise from the dead." He said, "Your prophet is in the grave."
He said, "How do you know He raised from the dead?"
Teacher said, "He's in my heart."
He said, "Mohammed is in my heart, too, sir."
He said, "But I have joy and peace."
E-93 He said, "Sir, Mohammedanism can produce just as much psychology as Christianity can." And they do. You ought to hear them shout and scream. That's right. "Produce just as much psychology as Christianity can." He said, "Well, what do you mean when you said that Jesus promised all these things to you?" It said, "I suppose you're referring to Mark 16?"
He said, "Yes, that's one of them. Not altogether, but that's one."
E-94 "Jesus said, the last Words He said to His Church, 'Go ye into all the world, see, and preach the Gospel, and these signs shall follow the believer.' How long? 'All the world; every creature. If they lay their hands on the sick, they shall recover.' The last words He said, according to your Scripture."
E-95 He said, "Well, you see," said, "that's just…" Said, "You see, that part isn't inspired." Said, "He really didn't mean that. That wasn't…"
E-96 He said, "It ain't inspired?" Said, "What kind of a Book are you reading?" Said, "All the Koran is inspired." Hum! It's a defeat of the weakness of theology, a man-made theology that hasn't got the—the Spirit to stand up and face the thing.
E-97 Like the Hebrew children said, "Our God is able to deliver us from this fiery furnace, but nevertheless we'll not bow to his image." We need people with courage. Man who has believed God has always been courageous and believed in the supernatural. Man who believe God!
E-98 Mr. Reidhead said, "I kicked the floor, Brother Branham, kicked the dust like that, and I couldn't answer the man." He said, "I purposed in my heart to come see you after that, and ask what this was all about." And said, "Here I am." He said, "If the Holy Ghost…"
E-99 Said, "Brother Branham, my mother sent me to school." And said, "I, when I got my BA, I thought there is exactly…"
I said, "I know what you mean."
E-100 Said, "Then one day I got my BA, I thought right there I'd find Christ. He wasn't there when I got my Doctor's Degree." Said, "I've got enough degrees, honorary degrees, to plaster your walls, and where is Christ in all of it?"
E-101 I said, "Who am I to say that the teachers are wrong? But that's not what we're talking about. It's the Person, Christ, that you must know."
E-102 Now the man is holding great campaigns everywhere. And Doctor Lee Vayle there, a good friend of mine, is a friend of his, also. And he's having great success, praying for the sick and holding great big campaigns and everything. It's because that man believed.
E-103 Now, see, the Spirit that was in Christ, the body, Jesus which was God, Emmanuel. The Holy Spirit, God, came down in Christ, and He was made "God with us." And then He was… That was to redeem us; His Blood shed.
E-104 Now, in the Old Testament, when the worshiper come and laid his hands upon his offering, and he cut the throat of the… the priest did, or sacrificed. The worshiper held the sacrifice with his hands, and feeling the—the tear of the flesh, and the little lamb dying; its little wool being bathed with his blood, all over the believers hands, and so forth, has been caught in the charger, to be burnt over there at the altar. The believer realized that he ought to be the one dying for that sin, but the lamb was dying in his place. Now, but the life that was in that blood, could not come back on the worshiper, because it was the blood of an animal, which has no soul. But in… Therefore there was a remembrance of sin, continually.
E-105 But, now, Jesus being Emmanuel, then the Life of God was in Him, and that comes back; not only the Life of a man, but God Himself, in the form of the Holy Spirit, comes back and makes you sons and daughters of God. Then you are sons and daughters. And then when you feel the terror and the misery and the punishment that Jesus went through, mocked of, His ministry called a devil's work, "Beelzebub," and made fun of, and scoffed at, by religious leaders, and turned down. "He came to His Own; His Own received Him not." And the things He went through with! And then to have sacrificed His life on the cross, to redeem that which God had foreknew. Redeem; bring it back to the place where it—it fell from. Then, God did that in order to send back the Holy Spirit upon the Church now, that It… the people, the believers. It's only for believers.
E-106 It isn't for unbelievers. They never will see it. They are dead, to begin with.
E-107 Look at those Pharisees when they seen Jesus perform the very sign that was supposed to be the Messiahic sign.
E-108 Look at Peter, he believed it now. And Nathanael believed it right now. The woman at the well believed it; blind Bartimaeus. All those that received it, believe it.
E-109 But those leaders stood there and said, "It's Beelzebub, an evil spirit, some kind of a hoax or a trick."
E-110 Jesus said, "You say that against Me, I'll forgive you," the sacrifice hadn't been made, "but when the Holy Ghost is come to do the same thing, one word against It will never be forgiven in this world nor in the world to come."
E-111 Why could not they believe it? Jesus said "You are of your father the devil, and his works you'll do." That's correct.
E-112 To believe the Word, is to receive the Word and let It become Life. Now, God showing there how He was confirming this covenant. It's has to be that way. The Church! Not an organization, not a denomination; but the individual and God has become the same Spirit. That's God's purpose, in the beginning.
E-113 Adam and Eve was the same spirit. The Bible said in Genesis, in 1:27, "In the image of God…" God is a spirit. "In the image of God created He him; male and female created He them," in the spirit form that was in God. And Adam was to take care of the—of the land, just like the Holy Spirit is supposed to lead the Church now. And, yet, man was not in flesh, and he was both masculine and also he was feminish, because it's the same spirit.
E-114 Then God created man out of the dust of the earth, and made him in the form of animal. Which, we are now animal, we know. We're—we're mammal. And that's the warm-blooded animal, and we are in that image of animal life.
E-115 And then God took a rib from Adam, not a… A woman is a by-product of a man, not exactly in the original creation. He took a rib. He separated the physical, and took the feminish spirit from Adam and put it in Eve. There was the man and the woman.
E-116 And when they get out of those places, they're out of their right condition. There is a perversion somewhere. When a woman wants to be masculine, or a—or a—or a man wants to act feminish, there is something wrong somewhere. They're out of their right conditions.
E-117 We notice it in Rebekah and—and Isaac, being own blood relation, see, but now that was typing Israel's natural seed. But, by faith, Christ come on the scene, which is not in the natural.
E-118 Like the token was on, the blood on the door of the post, down in Egypt. No matter how much circumcised, how much covenant they had, the token had to be shown or the covenant was annulled. Certainly. "When I see the blood, I'll pass over you."
E-119 Now the token is not the Blood; it is the Life that was in the Blood, the Holy Spirit. And that's the… I don't care how religious you are; unless you've received the Holy Ghost, you'll perish. That's the only way. There is not another Scripture to do anything, only that alone. "Grieve not the Holy Spirit of God whereby you are sealed until the day of your redemption," Ephesians 4:30.
E-120 Notice now, we come back, then that shows that Adam and Eve were one, to begin with. Husband and wife is supposed to still be one.
E-121 Now, but when they separated them into the flesh, it was there that Eve fell. Fell! Why? To disbelieving the Word, every phase of It. Some people can take one part of the Word, but not the rest. It's all got to be there. See? See? She just doubted one phase of It. And if all this sickness and trouble we've had now come by one woman doubting one phase of It, how are we going to get back anything less than believing It all, and accepting It all. That was their… They was fortified by that Word. When they separated, in flesh, they fell. She fell, by the word. She, watch, what did she look for?
E-122 Just so many people today, they want a better, stylish way, a easier way. They don't want to confront the thing that's set before them. If they do, they're put out of their organization, put excommunicated, thought little of.
E-123 Don't you know, that, "All men shall speak evil of you, falsely, for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in Heaven, for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. And all that live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecutions."
E-124 Now what else do we want Him to say? Thousands of Words we could, Scriptures, pertaining to that, would run from Genesis to Revelations.
E-125 That anything that we have today, began in Genesis. It's the seed chapter. All unbelief and everything started right here. The church started right there. Everything started there. It's like two vines growing, and one impersonating the other, and getting right up almost the same.
E-126 Like Moab and also Moses. There come Israel, little, no denomination, no nation at all. And they had the same sacrifice here in Moab; a fine denomination, all their dignitaries come out, offered the same sacrifice. Trying to… Their bishop up there, Balaam, come down to curse that what God had blessed. They thought, "These renegade people! They don't even have a church home, as it was. They're just wanderers about."
E-127 And He said, "But they failed to hear that shout of the King in the camp. He failed to see that Divine healing go in there, by that serpent. And the—the smitten Rock, to give them life! The shout of the King in the camp!"
E-128 He failed to see That, that blinded bishop. But yet, fundamentally, he was just as right as Moses was; seven altars, seven sacrifice, even offered a ram, speaking of the coming of Christ.
E-129 But God don't need nobody to interpret Him. He is His Own interpreter. He makes the promise, then He brings it to pass, and that's interpretation of it. No one has to interpret it. God don't ask no one. "The Bible is of no private interpretation." Everybody trying to say It means this, that. Let God speak for Himself. He is the One that does it. He made the promise; He stands behind it. He does, to believers.
E-130 But unbelievers receive nothing. It's not for them. They're dead, to begin with. They never was even represented. There is nothing in them. They're dead hulls. You don't want to be like that.
"Be filled with the Spirit!"
E-131 Notice, He separated Eve and Adam, and she fell. Adam went with her. Now, "Adam was not deceived." Eve was deceived. But Adam, the first Adam, was God's son also. And he went out because of the love of Eve, to try to bring her back, 'cause he loved her.
E-132 Christ did the same thing, to redeem Her back. What to? The Word. What caused the fall? The Word, disbelieving the Word, all the Word. And Christ come that He might become one of us, His Life in us, to continue the Word. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us. The same yesterday, today, and forever." Same God! That's why He come, to do that.
E-133 Now we find, in the confirmation, redeem us back to Himself, redeem the wayward children that strayed out in these morgues; and come back to the Word again, back to the identified Word!
E-134 Now them Jews, when Jesus come, they could say, "We got the Word. We got the Word. Here is what Moses said. We are Moses' disciples." Jesus, only twelve years old, disputing with them. And then when… See, that's what man does to It.
E-135 But Jesus said, "If I do not the works of My Father, then don't believe Me. For, the works that the Father has given Me to do, they testify Who I am."
E-136 Who? Any man that's sent of God, God testifies to the works that he's ordained him to do. If it doesn't, the Scripture doesn't back it up, leave it alone.
E-137 Even in the Old Testament, they had a way of knowing whether it was true or not. They took them down, a dreamer, or—or prophesier, or ever who it was, they took them down to the Urim Thummim. That was a supernatural Light.
E-138 God always is supernatural, works in supernatural. As long as there is a God there, there is supernatural, if it's Jehovah God.
E-139 And, when, no matter how well the dream sound, if it didn't reflect upon that Urim Thummim, then it was wrong.
E-140 Now the old Aaronic priesthood is done away with, but still we've got a Urim Thummim. This is the revelation of Jesus Christ, reveals Him in this Word. And anything that's contrary to that Word is not God; contrary to It. But God speaks for Himself. He identifies Himself with His Word.
That's where Jesus defeated Satan. "It is written…"
E-141 Then here come Satan back, and flopped in again. He said, "Yes, it's also written…" But that time, when he come, he hit a—a heavy voltage. That time it singed his wings. He jumped off of there, then.
E-142 He said, "It's written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.' Get thee behind Me, Satan!" See?
E-143 Notice what happened. God has always identified Himself by His promised Word. Now if them Pharisees had looked right back, Moses said, "The Lord your God shall raise up a Prophet likened unto me." That was in the Scripture.
E-144 But no wonder Jesus thanked the Father, said, "I thank Thee, Father, Thou hast hid This from the eyes of the wise and prudent, revealed It to babes such as will learn."
E-145 When He said to Peter on that day, when they come down. When He said, "Who does man say I the Son of man am?"
E-146 "One of them said Thou art 'Elias,' and one said You're 'Moses,' and so forth."
He said, "But that's not the question. I asked you."
Said, "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God."
E-147 He said, "Blessed art thou Simon, son of Jonas, flesh and blood never revealed this to you. Never learned it in a seminary, nobody taught it to you, but it's a revelation." Oh, my! "Upon this rock I'll build My Church, and the gates of hell can't prevail against It," the revelation, or the identification of Jesus Christ.
He said, "If I do not the works of My Father, believe Me not."
E-148 Now let's journey on. We find Him… Now let's go to the 17th chapter. We find Him here in the 17th chapter, where He appeared to Abraham after the confirmation of this, showing what He was going to do.
E-149 And now, remember, the Spirit comes upon! And the Spirit that's in the Church, the real Church, true Church, God's Church, God's people; the Spirit that's in them, is on, the same Spirit is on Christ, with a promise, "The works that I do shall you also."
E-150 Remember, one time in the crucifixion, just before it, they put a rag around His face, and hit Him on the head, with a reed, said, "Now if You are the Son of God, if… You're—you're a prophet, they tell me. Prophesy, prophet!" They passed the stick, "Tell us who hit You." See that devil? See?
E-151 He said, "I understand that You're a great miracle performer. Turn these stones into bread. Let me see You do it. I'll—I'll—I'll believe You if You'll do it like that, turn these stones into bread. I'll believe. I'll do it."
E-152 A man told me not long ago, said, "If you can produce one person that's been healed, with a doctor's statement!"
E-153 I said, "Oh, mercy, man, shut up. Goodness sakes!" I said, "I'll bring doctors by the hundreds."
He said, "I got a thousand dollars waiting for you, if you do."
E-154 And I brought the doctors, with the cases. He said, "Well, the money is in…"
E-155 I said, "I want that money for a missionary offering." And he said… "Send somebody that believes the Gospel, overseas."
E-156 He said, "Well, let me take a little girl, and me and my brethren stand around, and we'll cut her hand, and then you heal it right here before us, and we'll believe you."
E-157 I said, "You need mental healing." That's exactly right. A man so possessed with the devil!
E-158 The same one said, "If Thou be the Son of God, if Thou be, come down off the cross." Oh, when the very Bible said He had to hang on the cross!
E-159 Caiaphas said, "He saved others; Hisself He cannot save." Not knowing that it, but the biggest compliment was ever paid Him. If He saved Hisself, He couldn't save others. He had to give Hisself.
E-160 Sure, He knew who hit Him, but He don't clown for the devil. God is not a clown. He don't clown for the devil. His works are sent to those that believe, not to be clowned by.
E-161 Notice, He appeared to him here when he was ninety and nine years old, and He appeared to him in the name of Almighty God. The name there, in the Hebrew, is El Shaddai.
E-162 Now, God has seven compound, redemptive names. We know that. And you cannot separate them from Christ. You can't separate them. Christ met every one of those compound, redemptive names. You believe that? [Congregation says, "Amen."—Ed.] He, do you believe He is Jehovah-Jireh, "the Lord's provided sacrifice"? ["Amen."] Then what about Jehovah-Rapha, "the Lord heals all thy diseases"? ["Amen."] And if that wasn't applied to Christ, then He wasn't Jehovah-Jireh. So you can't separate it, the whole thing is wound up, and there you are. He can't be Jehovah-Rapha without being Jehovah-Jireh, neither can He be Jehovah-Jireh without being Jehovah-Rapha. "He was wounded for our transgressions, with His stripes we were healed." There's no argument about That.
E-163 Now we find here, He appears in the name of El Shaddai, "the Almighty." The… Really, the word, the Hebrew word shad, s-h-a-d, some pronounce it "shade." Shad means "breast," like a woman's breast. And He appeared to him in the name of El Shaddai, which is in the plural, breasted. "I am the Breasted-God. Abraham, ninety-nine years old, walk before Me! Be perfect, believe My Word! Just keep on believing! I promised, at seventy-five; here it is, been—been twenty-four years now since I made you the promise." And what a—what a comfort it ought to have been to an old man, ninety-nine years old. And his strength all gone, and here God stand before him, said, "I'm El Shaddai. I am the Breasted-God." Amen. "Draw your strength from Me. I am your strength."
E-164 Like, like the New and Old Testament, Breasted-God. "I am the Breasted-God, draw your strength from Me."
E-165 Like a little baby when it's sick, fretting; sick, weak, it leans upon its mother's breast and nurses his strength back from the mother. In other words, "Abraham, you're nothing but a baby to Me." Ninety-nine years old, it hasn't been no time, his life.
E-166 Just remember, Jesus was crucified, like yesterday. One thousand years on earth—on earth, is just one day with God. See, just like He was crucified yesterday.
E-167 And notice, "I am El Shaddai. You are the little, weak baby. But lean upon My bosom, My promise, and nurse from Me your strength. I'm the creator that hung the heavens and earth, put the stars out yonder. Is anything too great for God? I'm El Shaddai, and you are My child. Though you are weak, and I'm letting you get that way just to see what you'll do about it. I'm going to make an example for people hereafter, that man will believe My word. I'll stand by It. No matter what it takes, how long, I'll do it. I'll stand by It. El Shaddai! Draw your strength from Me."
Oh, you say, "If I could believe…"
E-168 He is still El Shaddai. He is still the Breasted-God, New and Old Testament. Just draw your strength from It, oh, everything you have need of. The baby, he is helpless, he has to pull his strength from his mother; that's the only way he can get his strength. That's the only way a believer can get his strength, is pull it from the Word of God. That's his strength, God's promises to him. Stand by and believe It!
E-169 And not only is the little baby here represented when it's sick, it fretting, the mother can put it to her—her breast, and he goes to nursing its strength back; it's satisfied while it's a nursing.
E-170 That's the way with the real child of God. No matter what the skeptic says, whatever it believes. If you truly believe It, Jesus can't lie. You are satisfied that It's revealed to you. You've got the promise, and nothing is going to stop it. "On this rock I build My Church," see, spiritual, revealed Word of Truth.
E-171 While waiting, resting in your faith, take God's promise. "I believe You, Lord. You promised to give me the baptism of the Spirit. I am resting in Your… in faith. My faith that I have in You, I'm drawing from my resource, for my resource, from—from… for my health, from Your resource, the Word.
E-172 "The man shall not live by bread alone, but out of the bosom of God shall he nurse his strength." Every Word that comes out of the mouth of God, shall he receive his strength as He comes from the—the mouth of God, the Word.
E-173 Like Abraham, Abraham was resting. Now he had lived with Sarah since she was a—a little girl. It was his half sister, and he was living with her and married her. And, he, she had had… She was barren. She had no children. And here she is now, she is already… if he is ninety-… ninety-nine. She is eighty-nine, eighty-nine years old. "But, Abraham, rest in the faith of My Word. I'll promise you, I'd do it. I'm El Shaddai. I am the Breasted-God for My children that believe." If you don't want to nurse, well, then don't say no more about it, you see. But if you are a child, you are nursing, resting, every promise!
E-174 Notice, real faith rests upon the solid rock of the promise of God's Word. It doesn't shift. The real faith is anchored.
E-175 Like in the north star, the north star is a tie post to every shipmaster, the compass points him only to that north star. And God, the Word, is every Christian's north star, if you're lost, and the Holy Spirit is what points you to It. It won't point to nothing else. All other isms, and so forth, and—and Christianity mixed up in it, whatever it may be; it's like the world, shifting, it changes those stars, but it can't change the north star. Neither can anything change the Word of God. Anchor to It, stay with It!
E-176 Now, real faith doesn't shift by creeds and man-made doctrines, and unbelief. It stays right with the Word, real faith in the Word.
E-177 And where can you put your faith on anything else but the Word? If God said it, hold your finger to It, That's true. It doesn't shift. It draws from God's breasted-Book, the Bible, His—His attributes, what He promised. What He promised, that's His Word. The Word produces Itself. It has to be a thought 'fore Word, then Word; then the Word is manifested, and that's where you draw your—your strength from. Believing! Believing! For the creator… Believing, like He was, the creator that made the world.
E-178 The New Testament said, back here, "As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of man be lifted up." Same purpose. What was it? They were doubting God, and sickness and trouble set in. And he lifted up the serpent. For what? For their healing and for their forgiveness. That's what was. And brass represents Divine judgment; and Jesus was that serpent judged, of course, the brass term.
E-179 Now, after He had confirmed the covenant, or the covenant was made manifest to him, it gives faith to the true sons of God. The Word gives faith, the Breasted-One. It—it does something to them when the—the Word, or when the covenant is made manifest, gives faith to the true sons of God.
E-180 Now we know, we realize that, in this, He was called Elohim. The word also, in the translation here, means "Elohim." Just looked it up, be sure. Elohim! And Elohim is the "All-sufficient One." He is El Shaddai, Elohim, the Breasted-God, the All-Sufficient One. He needs nothing from nobody else. He is your all-sufficiency.
E-181 Notice, the same is testified here, I was noticing this afternoon while I was studying, in Job—Job, He is called "Elohim." And Job was ridiculed, made fun of; how, what a picture today. But Job was resting in Elohim's promise, "Though after the skin worms destroys this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God, whom I shall see for myself." Resting in Elohim, no matter what comes.
E-182 His wife come, said, "You look miserable, Job." And here come his comforters around, "Oh, you see what happened to you, old boy? I told you you were wrong, all the time. See what happened?" A lot of people like to throw off on people like that.
E-183 Job was the best man of his day. The best man God had on earth was Job. He told Satan, "There is none like him." Amen. "Have you considered him?"
E-184 Satan said, "Yes, everything comes easy for him. Break that hedge and let me have him. I'll make him curse You to Your face." He done everything he could, but he couldn't.
Job rested in that promise.
E-185 The guys come by, and said, "Now, now where is all that God you was talking about? Uh-huh, look what, you—you believe Him to be this, look—look what's going on now."
E-186 But he still rested in El Shaddai, even no matter if his boils was breaking him out and his life was as good as gone. He was sitting on an ash heap, scraping his boils.
His wife said, "You, why don't you curse God and die?"
Said, "Thou speakest like a foolish woman." Oh, my!
E-187 "The Lord gave, and the Lord taken away, blessed be the Name of the Lord. I trust in Elohim. Though He destroys this body, the skin worms eat it up, yet in my flesh shall I see God, whom I shall see for myself; mine eyes shall behold and not another." He came forth, in Matthew 27, when the saints rose, come out and went in, but very… entered into the city. Very type of today, yet waiting, trusting in the promise.
E-188 Notice after He appeared in this Name, the Name of Almighty God.
E-189 Now, church, now we may get just a little bit of doctrine here, might be a little twisting to you. If you don't believe it, that's up to you. We're just here, I'm just going to speak what I think. You got a right to think what you want to think.
E-190 But, notice, but all these things were "types, shadows, and examples," as the Bible said they was. They're all that, and this is. God is dealing with Abraham in the journey, just like He'll deal with Abraham's royal Seed in the journey. Notice, He deal with the Jews the same way. It all started in there, in that promise of the covenant; all nations, all peoples.
E-191 Notice after the appearing in this Name of Almighty God. And it was revealed to him that He was the All-Sufficient One. He had no helpers; He didn't need any, any secretaries. He was alone, God. He was God, alone. And He appeared to Abraham in this Name, and while He appeared to him in this Name, and Abraham recognized Who He was, He changed Abraham's name. Now he's come to the fulness of believing now. See where the Church has come? I hope you can read between the lines. Come up to the place to where He's revealed to him Who He was, and then He changed Abraham's name so that the promise could be fulfilled.
Now you say, "There is nothing in a name."
E-192 Then why did He change Abraham's name from Abram to Abraham? Why did He change Jacob's name from Jacob, "supplanter," to Israel, "prince with God"? Why did He change Saul's name to Paul? Sure, his name, certainly, certainly does mean something. Certainly does. If you're not named right, God will change it, if He has called you. Yes, sir.
E-193 Notice, He changed his name here now, from Abram to Abraham, which means, "father of nations," added the h-a-m, Abraham. So He did this so that the complete promise could be fulfilled. And the son now, that had been promised so long, could be seen, or, otherwise, be revealed, when He changed his name and after he recognized Who He was. He might have been, might have thought there was a party of them; but he recognized that He was Elohim, God alone. But, when he did that, then He changed his name. He said, "Now, Abraham, you're no more be called Abram, but Abraham, for, a 'father of nations, I've made you." Abraham, now, he is in condition now. He is in condition after the revelation of Who He is. He is now in condition to see the son revealed.
E-194 The Son is ready to come, to be revealed. Oh, children of Abraham!
E-195 Notice, He changed His messenger's name, right at the end time. Just by, was ninety-nine, it's one year left, and He changed his name from Abram to Abraham. Changing his name, added the h-a-m, which means "father." He was to be a father, a father of a promise; father, promise.
E-196 Oh, if you've got spiritual discernment, listen! After the revelation of His Name, of Who He was, He changed his name. Now after the revelation, now He struck the earth, "there is not a company of Gods; there is One," now it's time for the revelation for the Son that's been promised to be revealed to Abraham's royal Seed, of the promise.
E-197 Look, He changed it from Wesley, Baptist, Presbyterian, Pentecostal. I don't know whether to say this or not. You don't have to believe it. But I hope you forgive me, for I don't want to hurt you.
E-198 But, look, there has never been a messenger to the churches of—of God, throughout all the entire history of time, that ever had a leader, since the reformation, like the leader we got today, Billy Graham, right, 'cause he's went to all the world. See? And, notice, never have we had a man, any reformer… We take Sankey, Moody, Finney, Calvin, Knox, whoever it might be, Wesley, Luther, there hasn't been a one with the name ending h-a-m, before. The only messenger we've ever had in the church ages, with the ending name of h-a-m; G-r-a-h-a-m, Graham.
E-199 And Graham is six letters, and six is man's number, man's day; man was created, in—in Genesis 1:26, on the sixth day. But seven is God's number; seventh day, God rested. Not six, showing this G-r-a-h-a-m would be to the church that's in the world; but, A-b-r-a-h-a-m, Abraham is seven letters.
E-200 Say, "There's nothing in numbers." Then you don't know the numerics of your Bible. See? You're sure to get It wrong now. Certainly.
E-201 God is "perfected" in three's, and "worshiped" in seven's, and "tempted" in forty's, and "jubilees" in fifty's, oh, whatever you want to do. All the math, the Bible runs in mathematics.
E-202 Notice, the sixth is a messenger to be sent to the world. And, notice, seventh is God's number.
E-203 And notice at this time of the appearing now, or the revealing of the Son. When the… It's going to be revealed, the Son. They done already recognized His Name, knowed Who He was. He is El Shaddai, the Almighty Elohim. But now we come down to the time of the promised Son is to reveal Himself. The Son, Isaac Himself that's been promised, is ready to come on the scene.
E-204 And He couldn't do it until He sent and changed his name from Abram to Abraham, because, "a father of nations, he was." Notice, -ham, h-a-m, "father, father of nations."
E-205 Look how fitting that is with Malachi 4, "Restore the Faith, back to the fathers," Abraham's Seed be restored back to the kind of Faith that father Abraham had, his royal Seed. Malachi 4 to be fulfilled, is to restore back the Faith that was once back there in the beginning, restore It back to the royal Seed of Abraham. It's a promise. It's exactly the promise. The Royal Seed is to be revealed, and by a… by the Royal Seed, which is the Royal Seed, of Christ. Christ is the Royal Seed. And the Seed is the Holy Spirit that's in the hearts of the people that believe in God, that hold His Word, and God working through them, carrying the same Message. "A little while and the world seeth Me no more, yet ye shall see Me; I'll be with you, even in you. And the works that I do, you'll do also." See, revealing it in the last days here, how it's supposed to come.
E-206 Now, watch the 18th chapter now. Immediately after the changed name, God appears, to reveal Himself in flesh. After the Name is made known, Who He is, God appears in flesh. Abraham, one hot day, just a few weeks or months before Sodom was burned and Isaac come on the scene. And, notice, Abraham is setting out under his oak.
E-207 And Lot is down in Sodom, and they're enjoying the pleasures of the world. Yet, he is Pastor Lot, was probably had him a nice little congregation down there. Whatever he did, the Bible said, "The wickedness and sins of the—of the time vexed his righteous soul." So he must have had like a lot of modern Lots today, but he knowed he couldn't say nothing about it. So then notice, there he was.
E-208 But Abraham, after He had been revealed to him, now, Elohim was Who had been talking to him. Now he is setting under the oak, and here comes three man, walking like human beings. Watch the effect of the revelation, of Who God was, had upon Abraham, what it did to him. After his name was changed from Abram to Abraham, he seen three Man coming, and he called the three, One, "my Lord." Three of them, being One. Not so with number six, Lot; he seen two coming, and he said, "my lords." Abraham's vision and revelation showed him that He was the All-Sufficient Elohim. His Seed is to receive the same thing.
E-209 Notice how He revealed Himself, how He made Hisself known, whether he was right or not. Notice, to the true believing, what sign He did. What did He happen, to make him know that that was Elohim?
E-210 Now, he said, "my Lord." It's capital L-o-r-d. Any scholar, you know it; any scholar knows that's Elohim, the All-Sufficient One, Elohim.
A man said to me, one time, "You don't believe that was God?"
E-211 I said, "I sure do. Abraham said It was God. He talked to Him; he should know." Yeah.
E-212 "Oh," he said, "you mean God standing there eating that flesh of that calf, and—and drinking the milk from the cow, and eating corn bread, ever what you want to call it there?"
E-213 I said, "He did it. Why, you just don't know our God." Well, my, He could just… Why, He just reach over…
E-214 We're made out of sixteen elements; petroleum, cosmic light, and potash, and calcium, and so forth, just sixteen elements. He just caught it together, and breathed into it, and walked down in the earth. I'm so glad He's that sort of a Father. Though the skin worms destroys this body, yet He'll call you. He promised He'll do it. He is Elohim. Jerked another handful, and said, "Come here, Woodworm," or whatever it was, the Angels, "and come down. Let's go down and look at Sodom, see what's going on."
E-215 And Abraham, after the revelation, he seen it and he knowed that there was one God. And he seen it, and he said, "My Lord, come aside, sit down, let me wash Your feet." Now, he never said, "lord…" And, watch, it's in the—it's in the capital there. Anyone knows it. I got the Emphatic Diaglott. See, it's capital L-o-r-d, "Lord," Elohim, the All-Sufficient One. Said, "Let me fetch a little water and wash Your feet, and give You a morsel of bread, then You can go on Your way."
E-216 Say, I'm getting too late here. I'd better hurry. I—I wanted to get over here, and I don't know when I'm going to be able to. Just bear with me just a little bit longer, will you? [Congregation says, "Amen."—Ed.]
E-217 Notice, Elohim, the All-Sufficient One, God. And He said… Watch what He did.
E-218 Now, two of Them begin, they kept looking down towards—towards Sodom.
E-219 And He said, "You think I'll keep this a secret from Abraham?" He does nothing till He reveals it to His prophets. See, He makes them know it. And He said, "I'm not going to keep this, seeing he's—he's blessed of God and he's going to inherit the earth, and so forth. His seed is going to be, otherwise, going to be father of many nations. I won't keep it from him. I'm going to let him know." And so He said, begin to reveal to him.
E-220 And He said, "Abraham," not Abram. "Abraham, where is thy wife, S-a-r-a-h?" How did He know that? Well, just a day before that, he was Abram, day or two before that. And she was Sarai, and now she is Sarah. And he is Abraham. Said, "Abraham, where is your wife, Sarah?"
Abraham said, "She is in the tent, behind You."
E-221 He said, "I'm going to visit you according to the time of life. And this son that's been promised, is ready to come on the scene now. You're going to have it."
E-222 And Sarah, to herself, kind of laughed, said, "Me being old, and have pleasure with my lord again, and him old?" Something like that, so, 'cause she was—she was ninety, and he was a hundred. "And so now could I do that again?"
E-223 And the Angel, messenger, God in human flesh, said, "Why did she laugh?"
E-224 That was a confirmation. Why? Showed the revelation was right. Showed that what he had called Him, Elohim, was right. Because, He was the Word. That was the… In Hebrews, the 4th chapter, the 12th verse, said, "The Word of God is sharper than a two-edged sword, and discerns the thoughts and intents of the heart." And when Abraham seen this, he was sure then he could call Him, "Elohim." Elohim, He was the Word, "Same yesterday, today, and forever."
E-225 Notice when Jesus, the royal Seed of Abraham, come on the scene, He revealed Himself to the natural seed of Abraham, in the same sign. And they called Him, "Beelzebub." It blinded them, the unbelievers, blinded them and caused them to blaspheming, and sent them to hell. But it gave Eternal sight to the believers, that was ordained to Eternal life.
E-226 Notice, Jesus promised that the… in the last days, just before the coming of the Son of man, that He would come and reveal Himself, when the days that the Son of man is being revealed, this royal Seed of Abraham would see the same sign. Now notice, when He said, that's—that's Saint Luke 17:28 and 30, "And as it was in the days of Sodom." Now, Jesus said this. I'm not responsible for it. He… I'm responsible for telling it, saying what He said. But, Jesus said this, "As it was in the days of Sodom, so shall it be in the coming, at the coming of the Son of man," now notice, "in the days that the Son of man is being revealed, when the Son of man is being revealed to His Church."
E-227 Like to Abraham. He was God, He kept coming on down; confirmed the covenant, recognized Who He was, and his name changed. Notice, it changed just before he got on the hill, looking over Sodom, just before the promised son came on.
E-228 Jesus said the same picture. Jesus was reading the same Bible that I'm reading and you're reading. If you want to know what it was, go back and see what they were doing in the days of Sodom. Notice, not so much in the days of Noah (He told their immorals, how they was eating, drinking, marrying, given in marriage), but in Sodom.
E-229 Now there is "no more water," God promised that by the rainbow sign. He give us a sign. He always gives signs. The rainbow… He ever remembers His signs. Always loyal to it through the years, never fails to give that rainbow sign. He always gives His signs. Notice.
E-230 And in that sign, He promised not to destroy the world "no more with water," but He did say it would "burn." And notice Jesus here saying, "As it was in the days of Sodom," the Gentile world was going to be destroyed. Sodomites!
E-231 Now look at the morals of the nations. Look at the morals of a church, just like Lot. Look what's down among them: a man, G-r-a-h-a-m, blasting them away, them politicians, to the church natural. Now on the church spiritual…
E-232 There is always three classes of people. That's, believers, unbelievers, and make-believers. They have them in every crowd. If you felt the pressure I did, you'd know they was right here tonight. So—so, you, and all three. Notice, there you are, there is always them three classes everywhere.
E-233 Now if you will see that it was to be the same thing when the Son of man was to be revealed to the royal Seed of Abraham, through Christ (Christ is the Royal Seed), when He is being revealed in the last days. Now, positionally, the world is setting exactly, because the Son that rose in the East sets in the West. "And it was a dismal day," made organizations, denominations, "but it shall be Light in the evening time," said the prophet Jeremiah. Now, and in the days when that Son, It comes out from behind the clouds of denomination, to reveal Himself, He said the world would be setting just like it was in the days of Sodom, and the Son of man would reveal Himself again to His people. Look how He revealed it to Isaac's seed; look how He going to reveal it to the royal Seed, the Bride Royal, the Queen. The Queen is the royal Seed.
E-234 As God brought a nation out of a nation, in Egypt, He is bringing a Church out of a church, or a Bride out of a church; Church out of church. And the remnant of the woman's seed, that's what was left over, "there is weeping and howling and gnashing of teeth, 'cause they didn't have Oil in their lamps, Holy Spirit," always represented. There they are.
E-235 The position is setting right. And now look up on the hill. Now, the Church, Abraham; Lot; Sodomites. The world; the church; the Elect. The Church, the Bride, out of the church. We're sitting positionally right. The world is just in the right swing to it.

E-237 I come down, seen a big sign, said, "Hybrid corn." Why, it's no good. No. That ought to make you atheists jump. When God said, "Let every seed bring forth of its kind." And you can hybrid corn and make it a better looking corn, but you can't plant that back again; it ain't no life in it.
E-238 And that's the way you done the church. We've made it pretty, and decorated it with denominational tinsel, but it ain't got no Life in it. It can't produce that Bible evidence again. See? Can't produce the evidence of the resurrection of Christ. It's a hybrid affair.
E-239 Better dressed people, better paid, bigger denominations, richer, of the Laodicean Age, exactly. "Rich, have need of nothing; know not that you're miserable, wretched, blind, and poor, naked, and don't know it." If a man knowed he was naked, you could talk to him. But when he don't know it, that's a miserable shape, pitiful. Don't scorn the people, but have mercy. What if that was you in that condition? What if the Word wasn't revealed to you, what would you do? What else would matter, if your eyes was so blind you couldn't see It? That's a miserable sight.
E-240 And just exactly, positionally. You can't lay a finger on it; there it sets, just what He said would take place. "These signs would be in the last days." See where they're sitting, just exactly.
E-241 Now watch, hybreeding. You know, if anything I… You take, like you take a—a—a—a donkey, and breed it to a horse, a mare, rather, and what do you get? You get a mule. But that mule cannot breed back again. See? God said, "Let every seed bring forth its kind." Now where's your evolution coming from? Your own project is condemn, what you said you believe. God said, "Let every seed bring forth of its kind." It can't breed back again. No, no. He is finished.

E-245 So is that pedigreed Christians, can run it right straight back to the Book of Acts and see where they come from, a pedigreed Christian, born of the same Spirit, the same thing, acting the same way.

It's right in there on my books right now, told thirty-three years ago, exactly. How that the Maginot Line would be built, eleven years before it built. How that Hitler would rise up, and—and Fascism, and—and Nazism, and all to bind in communism, and communism would destroy Catholicism. And it will, yes, no matter what they do. And showed, said there would be an Ecumenical Council, and how that all the churches would come together and would form the image called the Mark of the Beast. You see them right on the road, right now. Exactly right. It's got to happen, 'cause it's never failed to be.
E-253 Anybody that ever knows it, anybody, take them around the world, it's never failed one time. Months and years ahead of time, it's just perfectly right on the spot. It's God among you, people; God in us, the Holy Spirit. Notice, Jesus said that the royal Seed would be identified by the same thing, here in Luke the 17th chapter. "Oh, return, O dispersed, from your denominations, to your own."
E-254 Any of us can believe that God. If you believe in God, you know God heals the sick. That's no question. Why, if you don't believe that.… You know, they said in them days, "Jehovah, we know He can heal, but He can't save." Now, "He can save, but He can't heal." See, just the same devil, same thing. He is both Saviour and healer. He is Jehovah-Jireh and Jehovah-Rapha.
E-255 Oh, return! Remember, He promised this position, of everything setting just the way it is now, that what would take place. He said it would happen, and it's got to happen.

E-257 You might disagree with me; you have a right to that. I've got a right to express what I think. I've had the Scripture. Now, no matter what I would say, if God doesn't back that up, then the Urim Thummim isn't working, then it's refused. No matter how good it sounds, and how real it sounds, the Urim Thummim has to show it. The seed has to come to life. If it doesn't, then it wasn't so.
E-258 Now, for healing, I've tried to tell you I'm not a healer. There is many man that call themselves healers. Then there's a lot of—of critics that call man healers, that, just to criticize. Their heart is not right with God. See? Anyone knows that no man can heal another. God heals the sickness. Let God call for your death, and pray all you want to, and the hospital give you an injection of fluid everyday, and you'll die just the same.
E-259 If I cut my hand tonight, and stand here with a cut hand, there isn't a medicine in the world can heal my hand. We ain't got a medicine that heals. No medicine heals. Any doctor will tell you that. It just keeps clean while God heals. It can't build tissue, if I cut my hand. And, "Oh," you say, "yes, Brother Branham, there is medicine to heal that." All right, I want to know what it is.
E-260 Let me show you. If I cut my hand and fell down dead here, a doctor could come and embalm my body and make me look natural for fifty years. Sew up my hand, and take me out there and give me a shot of penicillin, every day, and in fifty years from now that cut would be just like it was when it was made. If—if medicine was made to heal a cut, why don't it heal it? Any medicine will heal a cut in my hand, will heal a cut on this desk, would heal a cut in my coat. If it would heal a cut, it'll heal a cut no matter where it's at. "Well," you say, "why, medicine was made for human beings." Then why don't it heal? "Well," you say, "the life has gone out of you." Then there is something else besides the medicine heals.
E-261 It's life, sure, and life is God. Certainly, it is. Yet, some are sinners, are perverted with it, but yet you're in the image of God. And the life that you have that God gave it to you. You know that; no, because God is the healer. Life is the healer. You believe that, see. Seen so much done!
E-262 Now let's just accept Him, won't you? E-263 "Faith cometh by hearing, hearing of the Word." The reason I said that, the Seed will find favor with God. I think now, instead of—of just calling a prayer line up here, I'll just have you to pray.
E-264 Let me give you a Scripture, first. With what we do, it must be Scriptural. Got to be Scriptural! God won't honor nothing else. God won't honor a lie; you know that. You—you couldn't attach that to Him. He don't honor lies. He only honors His Word. But He promised, that, "My Word will not return to me void. It'll accomplish that which It was purposed for." And we see the Word that's lotted today. No matter how much unbelief rises in the camp, God will honor His Word when He find faith to honor It by.
E-265 Now somewhere in the building, I want you to take this Scripture. Hebrews the 3rd chapter, I believe it is. The Bible said, that, "He's the High Priest, right now, that can be touched by the feeling of our infirmities."
E-266 And you that raised your hand, I want you, as soon as the service is getting to the close here, I want you to come up and stand around here and be prayed for, accept Christ as your Saviour. Take your way to one of some fine church around here. No matter where it's at, somebody that preaches the Gospel, go to them and ask for Christian baptism. And the pastor will take you from there on. He is God's man. He's called to be God's man, he'll—he'll take you from there on. Just, if I was here in this city, I'd belong to some of these churches here. I'd come to them, them that believe the Gospel. I'd be there. Certainly, I'd identify myself with them. Well, that's what you need to do, and that's what you need to do.
E-267 Now, if He's the High Priest that can be touched by the feeling of our infirmities, now He's the same yesterday, today, and forever, therefore He would have to act the same as He did yesterday.
E-268 Now watch, a little woman touched His garment, one time, and He turned around and knowed what she had, and told her her faith had saved her. And she felt, within herself; she never took any pains to prove it. She didn't have to prove it.
E-269 You don't prove things. You believe God. See? You don't prove God, at all. You can't prove, to save your life, there's a God, just going out here and say, "Let me see Him." See, you got to believe Him.
E-270 The whole armor of God is supernatural. Love, joy, faith, long-suffering, patience, meekness, see, all supernatural. We look at things that you can't see with your natural eye.
E-271 And Christ is here tonight. He promised it. "Wherever two or three are gathered in My Name, there I am in the midst of them. There I am!" The "I" again, He is here. Now, "He's the same yesterday, today, and forever."
E-272 You pray, and say, "Lord Jesus, I am sick," or whatever you have need of. "I—I am needy, and I—I want You, dear God, to have mercy upon me, and heal me and make me well. E-293 Lord Jesus, they are Yours. You said, "No man can come to Me except My Father draws him." And now according to science, they could not even raise their hand; the law of gravitation says our hands must hang down. But there's a life in them, and that life was brought near to Eternal Life, Christ. And they made a decision in their heart, that they're through with the world. And they raise their hands and stood on their feet, defying the law of gravity, that there is a life in there. So do we defy the law of the world and unbelief!
E-294 In the Name of Jesus Christ, they are Yours. They're love-gifts of the Gospel. They're memorials of the Message, tonight, and the… Your great Presence with us. Put their names upon the Lamb's Book of Life, There, Lord. We pray that—that each one of them will be There, as Your children, Your beloved.
E-295 Fill them with the Holy Spirit of God, into their hearts. May their lives be so charged with the Power of Almighty God, that humility and love and kindness and gentleness will flow from them, and a zeal to see others saved, that was once in their condition. Grant it, Lord.
E-296 Only thing that we can do, Lord, is to believe. And they stood as a memorial of their belief. And now with my faith and their faith, together, we lay it upon Your altar, by faith. E-299 Tomorrow night we're going to have a—a meeting for the baptism of the Holy Spirit, tomorrow night, right here at the building. Now, there is a lot of fanaticism they call the baptism of the Holy Ghost, but that don't mean that there isn't a real Holy Ghost. There's a real genuine Holy Spirit of God, just the same. And I believe that He'll meet with us here tomorrow night.

And the way you pray in your church, that's the way you pray here. Don't you pray for yourself. You pray for them; they are praying for you. And the Bible said, "They shall lay hands on the sick, they shall recover." Now you pray the way you do, and with a promise.
E-302 Lord Jesus, they are Yours. Receive them into Your Kingdom. And heal each one, Lord; and these handkerchiefs. In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, grant it, Lord. Satan has lost his hold. May the Power of Almighty God heal every one.
