E-1 Laßt uns die Häupter zum Gebet beugen. Teurer himmlischer Vater, wir hörten das Lied „Glaube nur”. Es läßt uns wissen, dass wir nicht mehr zu tun haben, um alle Verheißungen Gottes zu ererben, als sie einfach zu glauben, denn es steht geschrieben: „Alle Dinge sind möglich dem, der da glaubt.” Wir rufen, wie der Mann, dessen Kind Epilepsie hatte: „Herr, ich glaube: hilf meinem Unglauben!”
Wir danken Dir für Deine große Kraft, für die große Offenbarung Deiner selbst uns gegenüber in diesen letzten Tagen. Es macht unser Herz froh und glücklich zu wissen, dass wir mit dem lebendigen Gott in Verbindung sind, der es wiederum durch physische und materielle Beweise bestätigt, wie Er es in den vergangenen Zeiten tat und auch für diese Zeit verheißen hat. Wir sind Dir, unserem Gott, so dankbar. Während in dieser Zeit kaum jemand zu wissen scheint, welch einen Weg er gehen soll, sind wir so froh, dass wir die Sicherheitszone, den Zufluchtsort gefunden haben.
Segne uns heute Abend, Herr, wenn wir Dein Wort predigen. Mögen wir die Verheißungen, die Du uns gegeben hast, in unseren Herzen nähren, in Ehrfurcht schätzen und sie wirklich in göttlicher Zucht befolgen. Wir bitten es im Namen Jesus. Amen.
E-2 [Jemand spricht mit Bruder Branham. - Verf.] Ein Liebesopfer? Das hättet ihr nicht tun sollen. Wer hat das veranlaßt? Bist du der Schuldige? Ich meinte damit den Manager. Er sagte, dass er ein Liebesopfer für mich erhoben hat. Das hätte er nicht tun sollen. Ich bin dankbar dafür; Gott weiß es; aber deshalb komme ich nicht hierher. Vielen Dank. Der Herr möge euch segnen. Ich werde alles tun, was ich kann, und es für die Missionsarbeit im Ausland verwenden. So weiß ich, dass es für das Reich Gottes verwendet wird. So der Herr will, werde ich es selbst in das betreffende Land mitnehmen, um ihnen das gleiche Evangelium zu bringen, das auch ihr, die ihr hier sitzt, in dieser Woche hört. Dann weiß ich, dass es so eingesetzt worden ist, wie ihr es erwartet. Der Herr helfe mir dabei.
Ich bin sehr dankbar, dass in dieser Woche so viele gekommen sind, und auch für euch alle, die ihr heute Abend wieder durch den Telefonanschluß mit uns verbunden seid. Wir sind euch allen dankbar.
E-3 Billy sagte heute Morgen zu mir: „Papa, wenn du heute ganz früh, gleich nach Tagesanbruch mit mir hierher gekommen wärst, hättest du hier beobachten können, wie Mütter ihre kleinen Kinder im Auto fütterten und wie diese armen Menschen im Regen saßen und darauf warteten, dass die Türen geöffnet werden.” Seht ihr, was ich für ein Heuchler wäre, wenn ich euch etwas anderes als die Wahrheit sagen würde? Dann wäre ich wirklich ein schlechter Mensch. Manchmal muss ich verletzen, doch nicht deshalb, weil ich es will - nicht ich bin es, der verletzt: es ist die Wahrheit, die wehtut. Doch ich glaube, dass dies der Grund ist, weshalb ihr kommt, denn ich bin totaufrichtig mit euch und tue alles, was ich kann, um euch zu helfen. Der Herr helfe jedem einzelnen von euch.
E-4 Jetzt möchte ich den Leuten danken, die so gut mit uns zusammenarbeiten, und auch den Verantwortlichen dieser Stadt, die uns dieses Auditorium und die Aula des Schulhauses vermietet haben. Falls die Verantwortlichen hier sind, möchte ich ihnen meinen Dank aussprechen, und auch dem Hausmeister, Thurston Colvin, möchte ich für seine feine Mitarbeit danken. Er hat uns unterstützt, dass wir es bekamen, und war jeden Abend hier anwesend.
Wir danken der Polizei von Jeffersonville, dass sie für einen ganz geringen Betrag gekommen ist und für Ordnung gesorgt hat. Ich meine, für nur zwei Dollar pro Stunde gab die Polizei hier einen Spezialeinsatz, um die Autos beim Parken einzuweisen und für Ordnung zu sorgen, damit alles richtig ablief. Wir sind ihnen dankbar dafür. Auch den Techniker am Mischpult habe ich nicht übersehen und alle, die in irgendeiner Weise mitgeholfen haben. Wir sind euch wirklich dankbar.
E-5 Ich danke euch allen für die Gaben. Billy brachte mir heute nachmittag einige Kartons mit Pralinen usw. Auf einem davon stehen die Seligpreisungen mit einem Bild Christi, das die Bergpredigt darstellt. Es ist wirklich schön. Ich danke euch dafür. Es waren so viele Dinge; ich weiß gar nicht, wie ich euch dafür danken soll, und auch für die Unterstützung, die Finanzierung der Versammlungen. Wir schätzen das von ganzem Herzen. Der Herr segne jeden von euch reichlich.
Billy sagte, dass viele während dieser Zeit um eine persönliche Aussprache gebeten haben. Andere baten darum, ihre Kinder zu segnen. Oh, wie gerne möchte ich das tun!
Doch seht, wenn ich hierher komme, dann ist es unbedingt notwendig, dass ich die ganze Zeit dazu verwende, mich im Wort und im Gebet zu vertiefen, weil ich ja diese Botschaften bringen muss. Für uns sind sie außergewöhnlich. Es geht nämlich darum, zuerst den Willen Gottes zu erfahren, bevor man die Dinge ausspricht. Alles muss übereinstimmen, und wir müssen Gott darum bitten, es uns aufzuschließen.
E-6 So der Herr will, kommen wir bald wieder zurück, sofern wir einen Tag weg können. Ich habe einen Hinweis gegeben, dass es zu Ostern sein könnte. Das muss ich erst überprüfen, denn ich meine, zu der Zeit habe ich Versammlungen in Kalifornien. Es könnte aber auch sein, dass es nicht so ist. Sobald wir jedoch wieder zur Kapelle kommen, werden wir euch von der Gemeinde aus eine Karte senden, in der wir das Datum und die Zeit angeben.
Vielleicht werde ich mir dann, was ich jetzt nicht getan habe, Zeit nehmen, für die Kranken zu beten. In keinem Gottesdienst haben wir die Menschen nach vorne gerufen und für sie gebetet. Wir haben sie zu unseren Brüdern geschickt. Br. Lee Vayle und andere haben gepredigt, für die Kranken gebetet und auch die Wassertaufe vollzogen. Sie ermöglichten mir dadurch, mich nur mit dem Worte zu befassen Wir danken diesen Männern. Sie haben ihre Sache tapfer gemacht.
E-7 Es sind so viele Freunde hier, die ich begrüßen möchte. Ich habe vorhin John und Earl gesehen. Dort ist Dr. Lee Vayle, einer derjenigen, welche für die Versammlungen verantwortlich sind, und auch Bruder Roy Borders. Ich hatte kaum die Gelegenheit dazu, diesen Männern die Hand zu drücken. Ich denke an meine Freunde aus Kentucky und aus der Umgebung von hier und ebenfalls an die Prediger-Freunde. Wie gern möchte ich ihnen die Hand reichen. Bruder Blair habe ich neulich hier gesehen. Obwohl viele der Männer, die ich liebe, bei mehreren Versammlungen anwesend waren, konnte ich ihnen kaum die Hand geben. Es ist nicht so, dass ich es nicht tun möchte, sondern ich habe einfach nicht die Zeit dazu. Ich bin immer in Eile.
E-8 Ich sollte auch einige Kinder segnen. In dieser Versammlung sollte ich eigentlich meinen Enkel, den kleinen David, segnen. Nicht einmal dazu hatte ich Zeit. Ich bin jetzt zum zweitenmal Großvater geworden. Falls Herr May heute Abend hier ist: es sieht so aus, als ob ich den Spazierstock, den er mir geschenkt hat, bald gebrauchen werde.
Ich sagte zu Billy: „Die Bibel sagt zwar: 'Seid fruchtbar und mehret euch und füllet die Erde an', aber dir ist diese Verantwortung doch nicht allein auferlegt worden.” Die Enkelkinder sind schnell nacheinander gekommen.
Ihr wißt ja noch, dass meine Schwiegertochter zuerst keine Kinder bekam. Sie konnte keine haben. Eines Tages, als ich aus der Versammlung ging, sprach der Herr zu mir und ich sagte: „Loyce, du wirst einen Sohn haben. Der Herr hat dich gesegnet. Deine Frauenkrankheit ist verschwunden.” Neun Monate später wurde der kleine Paul geboren.
E-9 Zwei Monate, bevor das Kind zu Welt kam, saßen wir eines Morgens am Frühstückstisch. Billy und seine Frau saßen mir gegenüber. Da sah ich, dass Loyce ein kleines Baby fütterte, das in eine blaue Decke gewickelt war, und Billy saß in der Ecke und fütterte den kleinen Paul. Ich sagte: „Billy, ich habe gerade eine Vision gesehen. Darin hat Loyce ein Baby, das in eine blaue Decke gewickelt war, gefüttert.”
Er sagte: „Dann wird wohl nichts aus meinem Jagdausflug, denn er soll genau in neun Monaten sein.”
Elf Monate später wurde der kleine David geboren. Und bis jetzt konnte ich ihn noch nicht dem Herrn weihen. Das kann erst geschehen, wenn wir wiederkommen. Ihr seht also, was es ist.
E-10 Ich liebe die Menschen und ihre Gemeinschaft sehr. Unsere Brüder haben für die Kranken gebetet, und ich weiß, es war erfolgreich. Jeden Abend beteten wir alle gemeinsam für die Kranken, indem einer dem anderen die Hände auflegte. Dadurch konnten alle erreicht werden. So der Herr will, werden wir auf der Karte, die wir schicken werden, bevor wir wiederkommen, vermerken, dass ich wieder zwei oder drei Tage dazu verwenden möchte, für die Kranken zu beten und zu tun, was in dieser Hinsicht möglich ist. Ich möchte den Menschen nochmals für ihre Hilfe danken.
E-11 Jetzt will ich noch ganz kurz einige Erläuterungen über die Botschaft von heute Morgen geben [65-0221M Heirat und Scheidung - Verf.]. Zweifellos bin ich nicht ganz damit fertig geworden, doch ich meine, dass ihr es versteht. Ich bin sicher, ihr werdet nie wissen, was es für mich bedeutete, das zu tun.
Euch erscheint es sehr einfach, doch begreift ihr, was man tut? Man spricht etwas an Gottes Stelle aus. Bevor ich das getan habe, musste mir eine Antwort von Gott zuteil werden. ER kam herab, zeigte sich sichtbar und gab die Offenbarung. Deshalb ist dies für die Gemeinde. Denkt daran: Das, was ich sagte, ist nur für die Gemeinde!
Damit ihr Vertrauen habt und wißt, dass es derselbe Gott war, der dort, wo keine Eichhörnchen waren, zu mir sagte: „Sprich aus und sage, wo sie erscheinen sollen!”, und es geschah dreimal nacheinander: Wenn Er durch dasselbe Wort etwas erschaffen kann, das vorher nicht da war, wieviel mehr wird das am Tage des Gerichts standhalten! Es waren Menschen dort anwesend, welche diese Dinge sahen und das erfahren haben, was Paulus damals sagte, dass die Männer, die bei ihm waren, spürten, dass die Erde erbebte, aber die Stimme nicht hörten. Doch sie sahen die Feuersäule.
E-12 Trotzdem tat es mir gut, nach Beendigung zu sehen, wie Ehemänner und ihre Frauen, von denen ich weiß, dass sie echte Christen sind, einander umarmten und weinten.
Hört Freunde: Gott bestätigt Sein Wort durch Zeichen und Bestätigungen, um zu beweisen, dass es wahr ist. - Das gesprochene Wort! Denkt daran, als das Licht in der Wolke, das die Offenbarung gab.
Meine Tochter Sarah, dass die Schule dort in Arizona zu dem wolkenlosen Himmel aufschaute und diese geheimnisvolle Wolke beobachtete, in der ein bernsteinfarbenes Feuer brannte und die sich über dem Berg auf und ab bewegte. Der Lehrer gab der Klasse frei, ließ sie nach draußen gehen und fragte: „Habt ihr schon jemals so etwas gesehen? Schaut es euch an.”
Denkt daran, das ist das gleiche bernsteinfarbene Licht, das auf dem Felsen war. Es ist der gleiche Gott, die gleiche Offenbarung. ER sprach: „Sage ihnen, dass sie dies tun sollen.” Es ist das, was ich euch heute Morgen sagte. So ist es.
E-13 Sollte mein guter Freund, Bruder Roy Roberson, in Tucson zuhören: Roy, erinnerst du dich an die Vision, die du gesehen hast, als wir dort auf dem Berg waren? Du kamst zu mir, und die Wolke befand sich dort oben. Weißt du noch, dass ich dir das, was Er dir sagte, als du hinuntergingst, schon vorher zu Hause gesagt hatte? Das ist es, Roy. Sorge dich nicht mehr, Sohn; es ist geschehen.
Ihr könnt einfach nicht ermessen, was das bedeutet! Es ist Gnade! ER liebt euch! Ihr liebt Ihn. Dient Ihm in Demut und betet Ihn für den Rest eures Lebens an. Seid glücklich und lebt weiterhin so, wie ihr seid. Verbleibt so, wenn ihr glücklich seid. Tut niemals wieder etwas Verkehrtes wie dies. Geht vorwärts; es ist Gottes Gnade.
E-14 Jetzt möchte ich noch einmal beten, ehe wir uns in das Wort vertiefen. Wie viele werden für mich beten? Ich gehe ja von Versammlung zu Versammlung. Werdet ihr für mich beten?
Wißt ihr, ich möchte, dass wir alle gemeinsam ein Lied singen, bevor wir uns dem Wort zuwenden, damit wir erkennen, dass Gott uns nahe ist. Es ist einfach eine kleine Weihe. Habt ihr je das Lied ER sorget für dich gehört? Bei Sonnenschein und Leid sorgt Er für euch.
Eine Dame geht ans Klavier. Auch ihr möchte ich danken. Ich weiß nicht einmal genau, wer sie ist. Sie ist die Tochter eines Diakons. Oh, die Tochter von Bruder Wheeler. Jetzt ist sie erwachsen. Es ist noch nicht lange her, da war sie ein kleines Mädchen und saß auf meinem Schoß, und jetzt ist sie eine junge Frau. Ich danke ihr, dass sie ihre musikalische Begabung genutzt hat. Sie spielt sehr schön. Würdest du uns den Ton angeben, Schwester? Wir stimmen jetzt gemeinsam an:

E-15 Teurer, gnädiger Gott, mit dieser kleinen Notiz wollte ich den Menschen einige Dinge sagen und noch einmal auf heute Morgen Bezug nehmen, denn die Menschen sind gekommen, um das zu hören. Ich bete, o Gott, dass Du den Menschen erkennen läßt, dass Du ein liebender und sorgender Gott bist. Nicht ich war es, der das gegeben hat, Herr; es ist bestätigt worden, dass es die Wahrheit ist. Deshalb bete ich, teurer Gott, dass Deine Liebe immer mit den Menschen verbleibe. Auch wenn wir uns nach der Versammlung heute Abend verabschieden und wieder in unsere Heime zurückkehren müssen, hält uns irgendetwas innig zusammen, Herr. Ich bete, dass Du diese Menschen segnest.
Wir bitten Dich, wenn wir uns jetzt im Gebet dem Worte nahen und uns dann dem geschriebenen Wort zuwenden, dass Du das geschriebene Wort nimmst und es uns heute Abend lebendig machst. Mögen wir, wenn wir dieses Gebäude an diesem Abend verlassen und Abschied nehmen, um nach Hause zurückzukehren, dasselbe sagen können, wie diejenigen, welche von Emmaus zurückkamen. Sie waren den ganzen Tag mit Ihm zusammen gegangen und hatten Ihn nicht erkannt. Doch als Er an diesem Abend mit ihnen in den Raum eingetreten war und man die Tür verschlossen hatte, da tat Er etwas, das Er vor Seiner Kreuzigung getan hatte. Daran erkannten sie, dass Er auferstanden war.
Tue es heute Abend wieder, Herr. Gewähre es, während die Türen geschlossen sind und Deine kleine Gruppe hier sitzt und wartet. Vater, dann werden wir, wenn wir in unsere Heime gehen, wie sie sagen: „Brannte nicht unser Herz in uns, als Er unterwegs mit uns redete?” Wir übergeben uns selbst und alle in Deine Hände, Herr. Tue mit uns, was Du für richtig hältst. Im Namen Jesus. Amen.
E-16 Laßt uns jetzt schnell zum Gottesdienst übergehen, indem ihr mit mir den Hebräerbrief aufschlagt. Wir werden heute Abend ganz kurz über eine weitere Offenbarung in der Botschaft sprechen, so der Herr will. Ich möchte die ersten drei Verse aus Hebräer 7 lesen und dann einiges darüber sagen. Wir wissen nicht, was der Herr tun wird. Wir wissen es nicht. Das einzige, was wir tun, ist einfach zu glauben, zu wachen und zu beten, nicht wahr? Wir glauben, dass Er denen, die Ihn lieben, alle Dinge zum Besten dienen läßt, denn so hat Er es verheißen.
Dieser Melchisedek aber war ein König von Salem, ein Priester Gottes, des Allerhöchsten, der Abraham entgegenging, da er von der Könige Schlacht wiederkam, und segnete ihn;
welchem auch Abraham gab den Zehnten aller Güter. Aufs erste wird er verdolmetscht: ein König der Gerechtigkeit; darnach aber ist er auch ein König Salems, das ist: ein König des Friedens;
Lass uns etwas weiter lesen.
ohne Vater, ohne Mutter, ohne Geschlecht und hat weder Anfang der Tage noch Ende des Lebens: er ist aber verglichen dem Sohn Gottes und bleibt Priester in Ewigkeit.
E-17 Denkt über diese besondere Person nach: Wie hervorragend muss dieser Mann gewesen sein! Die Frage ist nun: „Wer ist dieser Mann?”! Die Theologen hatten verschiedene Ansichten, doch seit Öffnung der sieben Siegel ist das geheimnisvolle Buch für uns aufgeschlossen. Gemäß Offenbarung 10:1-7, sollten alle Geheimnisse, die in diesem Buch geschrieben stehen und während der Zeitalter der Reformatoren verborgen geblieben sind, durch den Engel des letzten Gemeindezeitalters ins Blickfeld gebracht werden. Wie viele wissen, dass das stimmt? Es ist so! Sie sollten hervorgebracht werden. Alle Geheimnisse des geheimnisvollen Buches sollen dem Botschafter des Gemeindezeitalters von Laodizea geoffenbart werden.
Wir sehen, dass viel Unstimmigkeit über diese Person und dieses Thema herrscht, und ich meine, es steht uns zu, hineinzudringen und festzustellen, wer es ist. Es gibt verschiedene Lehrmeinungen über ihn.
Die einen sagen, er sei nur ein Mythos, keine wirkliche Person gewesen.
Die anderen sagen, es wäre eine Priesterschaft gewesen - die Melchisedek-Priesterschaft. Die weitverbreitetste Ansicht, der mehr zustimmen als der anderen, ist die, wonach es eine Priesterschaft gewesen sein soll.
Das ist nicht möglich, denn im 4. Vers steht, dass er eine Person, ein Mann, war. Um eine Person zu sein, musste er ein Mensch - ein Mann sein. Es war kein Orden, sondern eine Person.
E-18 Er war weder eine Priesterschaft, noch war er ein Mythos. Er war eine Person, und diese Person ist ewig. Ihr habt bemerkt, dass er keinen Vater, keine Mutter, keinen Anfang und kein Ende seines Lebens hat. Wer immer es war: er lebt heute Abend immer noch, denn die Bibel sagt hier, dass er weder Vater noch Mutter, weder einen Anfang seiner Tage noch ein Ende seines Lebens hat. Also muss es eine ewige Person sein. Stimmt das? Eine ewige Person. Deshalb kann es nur eine Person sein: das ist Gott, denn Er ist der Einzige, der ewig ist - Gott.
Ich möchte, dass ihr 1. Tim. 6:15-16, einmal lest. Der Grund, weshalb ich dafür eintrete, dass Er Gott war, besteht darin, weil Er die einzige Person ist, die unsterblich sein kann. Gott hat sich selbst als Person kundgetan. Das war Er, der keinen Vater, keine Mutter, keinen Anfang und kein Ende Seines Lebens hat.
E-19 Wir stellen fest, dass viele Menschen aus der Schrift lehren, die Gottheit würde aus drei Personen bestehen. Man kann keine Persönlichkeit sein, ohne eine Person zu sein. Denn um eine Persönlichkeit zu sein, muss man eine Person sein.
Ein Baptistenprediger kam vor kurzem zu mir nach Hause und sagte: „Wenn du einmal Zeit hast, möchte ich dich in bezug auf die Gottheit zurechtbringen.” Besser gesagt: das waren seine Worte im vorausgehenden Anruf.
Ich antwortete: „Ich habe jetzt Zeit, denn ich möchte korrigiert werden. Alles andere legen wir beiseite.”
Er kam also und sagte: „Bruder Branham, du lehrst, dass es nur einen Gott gibt.”
Ich erwiderte: „Jawohl.”
„Nun”, sprach er, „ich glaube, dass es nur einen Gott gibt, doch einen Gott in drei Personen.”
Ich forderte ihn auf: „Mein Herr, wiederhole das noch einmal.”
Er sagte: „Einen Gott aus drei Personen.”
Ich fragte: „Wo hast du deine Ausbildung bekommen?” Er nannte mir ein Bibelseminar. Darauf sagte ich: „Ich kann das nicht glauben. Man kann keine Person sein, ohne eine Persönlichkeit zu sein. Wenn man eine Persönlichkeit ist, dann ist man doch eine selbständige Person. Man ist ein eigenständiges, individuelles Wesen.”
Er meinte: „Nicht einmal die Theologen vermögen das zu erklären.”
Ich antwortete: „Es ist Offenbarung.”
Er entgegnete: „Offenbarung kann ich nicht akzeptieren.”
Ich sagte: „Dann gibt es keine Möglichkeit, dass Gott es dir je schenken kann, denn es ist den Augen der Weisen und Klugen verborgen, den Unmündigen aber geoffenbart. Kindern, die es willig annehmen, wird es geoffenbart.” Ich wiederholte: „Sonst gibt es keine Möglichkeit, dass Gott es dir zuteil werden lassen kann. Du verschließt dich vor Ihm.
Die ganze Bibel ist die Offenbarung Gottes. Es gibt keine andere Möglichkeit, Gott zu erkennen, als durch Offenbarung. '...und wem der Sohn Ihn offenbaren will.' Alles ist Offenbarung. Wenn du die Offenbarung nicht anerkennst, dann bist du nur ein kalter Theologe, und es gibt keine Hoffnung für dich.“
E-20 Wir haben festgestellt, dass diese Person keinen Vater und keine Mutter, keinen Anfang Seiner Tage und kein Ende Seines Lebens hatte. Es war Gott En morphe.
Dieses Wort kommt aus dem Griechischen und bedeutet „verwandeln”. Es wird gebraucht, wenn Er sich selbst von einer Person zur anderen verwandelt - En morphe. Das griechische Wort En morphe wird im Theaterbereich angewandt, und zwar, wenn eine Person ihre Verkleidung wechselt, um einen anderen Charakter darzustellen.
Bevor Rebecca vor kurzem ihr Abschlußzeugnis bekam, führte man an ihrer Schule ein Stück von Shakespeare auf. Ein junger Mann musste seine Kleidung einige Male wechseln, weil er zwei oder drei verschiedene Rollen zu spielen hatte - doch es war immer die gleiche Person. Einmal trat er als Bösewicht auf; das nächste Mal spielte er eine andere Rolle. Das griechische Wort En morphe bedeutet also, dass Er Seine „Verkleidung” wechselte.
E-21 Das tat Gott. Es ist immer der gleiche Gott. Gott in Gestalt des Vaters, der Geist, die Feuersäule - dieser Gott wurde Fleisch und wohnte unter uns. En morphe - Er nahm Gestalt an, damit Er gesehen werden konnte. Jetzt ist derselbe Gott der Heilige Geist. Vater, Sohn, Heiliger Geist sind nicht drei Götter, sondern es sind drei Kundgebungen, drei Auftritte des einen Gottes.
Die Bibel sagt, dass es nur einen Gott gibt - nicht drei. Doch sie können es nicht begreifen. Wenn es euch nicht aufgeschlossen worden ist, habt ihr immer noch drei Götter. Einem Juden könnt ihr das nie glaubhaft machen - einem, der Bescheid weiß. Ich sage euch, er weiß, dass es nur einen Gott gibt.
E-22 Beachtet, es ist wie bei einem Bildhauer, der sein Werk verhüllt. Das tat Gott in diesen Zeitaltern. Es war verborgen. All diese Dinge waren verborgen und sollten in diesem Zeitalter geoffenbart werden. Die Bibel sagt, dass sie am Ende der Tage geoffenbart werden. Es ist wie bei einem Bildhauer, der sein Werk bis zu der Zeit, wo er die Hülle abnimmt, verhüllt hält. Dann ist es sichtbar.
Genauso war es mit der Bibel. Es ist das Werk Gottes und war verhüllt. Seit Grundlegung der Welt war es verborgen, als ein siebenfaches Geheimnis. Gott aber gab die Verheißung, dass Er an diesem Tage, dem Zeitalter der Laodizea-Gemeinde, die Hülle von der ganzen Sache nimmt, damit wir es sehen können. Wie herrlich!
Gott, En morphe, war in der Feuersäule verhüllt. Gott, En morphe, war in einem Mann namens Jesus. Gott, En morphe, ist in Seiner Gemeinde - Gott über uns, Gott mit uns, Gott in uns - das Herabkommen Gottes. Als Er in Seiner Heiligkeit dort auf den Berg herabkam, konnte Ihn niemand berühren. Selbst ein Tier, das den Berg berührte, musste sterben.
Dann kam Gott herab, wechselte Sein Zelt, kam und wohnte unter uns. ER wurde uns gleich, und wir konnten Ihn betasten. Die Bibel sagt in 1. Tim. 3:16: „Kündlich groß ist das Geheimnis der Gottseligkeit, denn Gott ist geoffenbart im Fleisch” - Er wurde mit Händen betastet. Gott aß Fleisch. Gott trank Wasser. Gott schlief. Gott weinte. ER war wie wir! Wie herrlich ist das in der Bibel dargestellt.
Es war Gott über uns, Gott mit uns; jetzt ist es Gott in uns, der Heilige Geist - nicht die dritte Person, sondern dieselbe Person.
E-23 Gott kam herab, wurde Fleisch und erlitt den Tod in Christus, damit Er die Gemeinde reinigen konnte, um in ihr Wohnung zu nehmen und Gemeinschaft zu haben. Gott liebt die Gemeinschaft. Dazu hat Er den Menschen am Anfang geschaffen - zur Gemeinschaft. Gott wohnt unter den Cherubim.
Beachtet, Er schuf die Menschen, doch die Menschen fielen. Also kam Er herab und erlöste die Menschheit, denn Gott möchte angebetet werden. Das Wort „Gott” bedeutet „Gegenstand der Anbetung”.
Das, was als Feuersäule in unsere Mitte kommt, als etwas, das unsere Herzen verwandelt, ist derselbe Gott, der sprach: „Es werde Licht”, und es ward Licht! ER ist derselbe, gestern, heute und in Ewigkeit.
E-24 In Anfang wohnte Gott mit Seinen Eigenschaften allein, wie ich heute Morgen schon sagte. Das waren Seine Gedanken. Es gab nichts als Gott allein. Aber Er hatte Gedanken.
Es ist mit einem großen Architekten vergleichbar, der in seinen Gedanken etwas ersinnt und das baut, bzw. schafft, was er sich ausgedacht hat. Er kann nicht erschaffen, er kann nur etwas nehmen, das erschaffen wurde und es anders gestalten, denn Gott ist der Einzige, der erschaffen kann. Doch er stellt sich etwas vor, das er dann ausführt, und das sind seine Gedanken, seine Wünsche. Und ein Wort ist....
Zuerst ist es ein Gedanke, dann wird er ausgesprochen, und nun ist es ein Wort. Sobald ein Gedanke zum Ausdruck gebracht wird, ist es ein Wort. Ein zum Ausdruck gebrachter Gedanke ist ein Wort. Zuerst aber muss ein Gedanke da sein. Gott hat also Eigenschaften; dann werden sie zu einem Gedanken und dann zu einem Wort.
E-25 Beachtet: Alle, die heute ewiges Leben haben, waren schon mit Ihm und in Ihm, in Seinen Gedanken, bevor es überhaupt einen Engel, einen Stern, einen Cherubim oder irgendetwas anderes gab. Das bedeutet ewig. Wenn ihr ewiges Leben habt, seid ihr schon immer gewesen. Nicht dass du hier bist, sondern die Form und Gestalt, die der unendliche Gott....
Wenn Er nicht unendlich ist, dann ist Er nicht Gott. Gott muss unendlich sein. Wir sind begrenzt; Er ist unbegrenzt. ER ist allgegenwärtig, allwissend und allmächtig. Wenn Er das nicht wäre, könnte Er nicht Gott sein. Doch Er weiß alles an allen Orten, weil Er überall gegenwärtig ist. Seine Allwissenheit macht Ihn allgegenwärtig. ER ist ein Wesen; Er ist nicht wie der Wind. ER ist ein Wesen und wohnt in einem Hause, doch weil Er allwissend ist, also alle Dinge weiß, ist Er auch allgegenwärtig. Denn Er weiß alles, was geschieht.
Keine Fliege kann mit dem Auge zwinkern, ohne dass Er es weiß. Bevor die Welt überhaupt da war, wußte Er schon, wie oft sie das Auge öffnen und schließen würde und wieviel Talg in ihr ist - bevor es die Welt gab. Das ist Unendlichkeit. Wir können es mit unserem Verstand nicht begreifen, doch das ist Gott - der unendliche Gott.
E-26 Denkt daran: Ihr selbst, eure Augen, eure Statur, was immer ihr seid - ihr wart schon am Anfang in Seinen Gedanken. Ihr seid lediglich das zum Ausdruck gebrachte Wort. Nachdem Er es gedacht hatte, sprach Er es aus, und nun seid ihr hier. Wenn es nicht so ist und ihr nicht in Seinen Gedanken wart, dann gibt es keine Möglichkeit für euch, jemals dort zu sein, denn Er ist es, der ewiges Leben gibt.
Ihr erinnert euch an die Schriftstelle, die wir lasen: „Demnach kommt es nicht auf jemandes Wollen oder Laufen an, sondern auf Gottes Erbarmen.” Damit Seine Vorherbestimmung sich als wahr erweist, konnte Er, ehe die Zeit begann, auserwählen. Gott ist souverän in Seiner Auserwählung. Habt ihr das gewußt? Gott ist souverän. Wer war damals mit dabei, der Ihm hätte sagen können, wie eine bessere Welt geschaffen werden konnte? Wer würde es wagen, Ihm zu sagen, dass Er Seine Sache nicht richtig ausgeführt hat? Das Wort selbst ist souverän. Auch die Offenbarung ist souverän. ER gibt die Offenbarung, wem Er sie geben will. Die Offenbarung selbst ist souverän in Gott. Deswegen greifen die Menschen Dinge an, trampeln darauf herum, schlagen darauf los und wissen nicht, was sie damit tun. Gott ist souverän in Seinen Werken.
E-27 Wir haben festgestellt, dass Seine Eigenschaften am Anfang in Ihm waren. Also wart ihr schon damals mit Ihm. Hier kommt das Buch des Lebens ins Blickfeld.
In Offenbarung 13, Vers 8, lesen wir von dem Tier, das in den letzten Tagen auf Erden sein und alle Menschen auf Erden verführen wird, „deren Namen nicht im Lebensbuche des geschlachteten Lammes seit Grundlegung der Welt stehen.”
Denkt darüber nach! Schon bevor Jesus geboren wurde - viertausend Jahre, bevor Er auf die Erde kam, mehrere tausend Jahre, bevor ihr auf die Erde kamt, starb Jesus schon in den Gedanken Gottes für die Sünden der Welt, das Buch des Lebens wurde geschrieben, und euer Name wurde in das Buch des Lebens eingetragen - vor Grundlegung der Welt! Das ist die biblische Wahrheit. Euer Name war von Gott vorherbestimmt und wurde vor Grundlegung der Welt in das Buch des Lebens eingeschrieben.
Ihr wart schon dort als Bestandteil Seiner Eigenschaften. Ihr könnt euch nicht daran erinnern, weil ihr einfach ein Teil Seines Lebens seid. Wenn ihr ein Sohn oder eine Tochter Gottes werdet.
Seid ihr ein Teil Gottes - so wie ihr ein Teil eures irdischen Vaters seid. Das stimmt. Der Lebenskeim und das Blut kommen vom Mann. Nach der Vereinigung mit dem Ei werdet ihr zu einem Teil eures Vaters. Auch eure Mutter ist ein Teil eures Vaters. So seid ihr alle ein Teil eures Vaters.
Glory! Das schließt die Denominationen ganz und gar aus. Gewiß! Gott in allem - Er ist der einzige Ort.
E-28 Betrachtet nun Seine Eigenschaft. Zuerst war Gott der Gedanke und die Eigenschaft, alles in sich selbst, ohne zum Ausdruck gekommen zu sein. Als Er sich dann zum Ausdruck brachte, wurde Er das Wort. Schließlich wurde das Wort Fleisch und wohnte unter uns.
Joh. 1:1 und 14, beachtet, dies betrifft den Anfang, doch davor war Ewigkeit. Seht, im Anfang war das Wort. Als die Zeit begann, war es schon das Wort, doch ehe es zum Wort wurde, war es eine Eigenschaft - ein Gedanke. Dann kam es zum Ausdruck. Im Anfang war der Ausdruck - das Wort.
Jetzt begreifen wir, wo Melchisedek - diese geheimnisvolle Person - einzuordnen ist. „Im Anfang war das Wort, und das Wort war bei Gott, und Gott war das Wort... und das Wort wurde Fleisch und wohnte unter uns.” Behaltet das jetzt fest im Gedächtnis. Beachtet.
Sein ursprüngliches Wesen war Geist - Gott war übernatürlich; der große Ewige. Als nächstes nahm Er eine Theophanie an und machte so den Anfang zur Fleischwerdung hin. Sie wird „das Wort” genannt - ein Leib. In dieser Form, in der Er Melchisedek genannt wurde, begegnete Er Abraham. ER war in Gestalt eine Theophanie. Wir werden in wenigen Minuten näher darauf eingehen und es beweisen, so der Herr will. ER war das Wort.
E-29 Eine Theophanie ist etwas, das ihr nicht sehen könnt. Sie könnte jetzt hier sein, und dennoch würdet ihr sie nicht sehen. Es ist ähnlich wie mit dem Fernsehen, das eine andere Dimension erfaßt. In diesem Raum bewegen sich jetzt Menschen; sie singen; auch Farben sind da; doch das Auge ist nur im Bereich der fünf Sinne tätig. Euer ganzes Wesen nimmt nur das wahr, was den fünf Sinnen zugänglich ist. Ihr könnt nur das sehen, was sich innerhalb der Grenzen des Sehbereiches befindet. Doch es gibt noch eine andere Dimension, die wahrgenommen werden kann, wenn sie durch das Fernsehen übertragen wird.
Das Fernsehen stellt das Bild nicht selbst her. Es wurde lediglich vom Fernsehen aufgenommen, durch Kanäle weitergeleitet, und dann seht ihr es auf dem Bildschirm. Doch das Bild selbst ist bereits vorhanden gewesen. Das Fernsehen war schon hier, als Adam hier war. Es war hier, als sich Elia auf dem Berge Karmel befand. Das Fernsehen war hier, als Jesus von Nazareth am Ufer des Sees Genezareth wanderte. Doch erst jetzt hat man es entdeckt. Damals hätten sie es nicht geglaubt. Man wäre für verrückt angesehen worden, etwas Derartiges zu sagen. Jetzt aber ist es Realität geworden.
So ist es mit Christus. ER ist hier. Die Engel Gottes sind hier. Und eines Tages, wenn das große Tausendjährige Reich anbricht, wird es noch weit mehr Realität sein als eine Fernsehübertragung oder irgendetwas. denn sie sind tatsächlich hier.
ER offenbart sich selbst in dieser großen Gestalt En morphe, indem Er in Seinen Knechten Gestalt annimmt und sich durch sie bestätigt.
Jetzt ist Er in Gestalt des Geistes hier. Dann kommt Er in der Gestalt En morphe. ER erschien dem Abraham En morphe. Als Abraham von dem Sieg über die Könige zurückkehrte, kam ihm Melchisedek entgegen und sprach zu ihm.
E-30 Neulich las ich in der Zeitung von Tucson in einem Artikel, dass eine Frau mit einer Geschwindigkeit von ca. 80 Stundenkilometer, wie ich meine, die Straße entlang, und einen alten Mann anfuhr, der einen Mantel trug. Sie schrie und hielt an. Durch den Aufprall war er in die Luft geschleudert worden. Das geschah in einer Wüstengegend. Als sie zurücklief und ihn suchte, war er nicht mehr dort. Was hatte sie getan? Die Leute, die hinter ihr fuhren, hatten gesehen, wie es sich ereignete, dass der alte Mann in die Luft geworfen wurde und dass sein Mantel zurückschlug. Sie liefen also hin, um festzustellen, was passiert war, konnten den Mann aber nirgends finden. Daraufhin rief man die Polizei. Sie kam und suchte die Stelle ab, doch es war niemand dort.
Jeder bezeugte, dass das Auto aufgeprallt war und dass der Mann angefahren wurde. Er wurde in die Luft geschleudert - alle sahen es. Die Insassen von zwei oder drei Autos hatten es gesehen. Dann fand man heraus, dass vor fünf Jahren an der gleichen Stelle ein alter Mann, der einen Mantel trug, angefahren und getötet worden war.
Wenn ihr von hier geht, seid ihr nicht tot. Selbst wenn ihr ein Sünder seid, müßt ihr wieder hervorkommen, um nach euren Taten, die ihr während eures Lebens getan habt, gerichtet zu werden. „Wenn unser irdisches Haus abgebrochen sein wird, erhalten wir einen von Gott bereiteten Bau.” En morphe; das ist das Wort.
E-31 Später gestaltete Gott diese Form Seiner Schöpfung in den Leib Jesu um. Woraus? Aus dem großen Geist am Anfang. Dann kam Er herab, um das Wort zu sein und es selbst zum Ausdruck zu bringen. Das Wort hatte noch nicht Gestalt angenommen, es war lediglich ausgesprochen worden. Später wurde Er Fleisch, En morphe, Jesus, der sterblich war, um für uns alle, die wir Sünder sind, den Tod zu erleiden.
Als Abraham Ihm begegnete, war Er Melchisedek. Hier zeigt Er, was mit allen, die Ihm angehören und Söhne Abrahams sind, ganz am Ende geschehen wird. Mit jedem Sohn des Glaubens wird absolut dasselbe geschehen. Doch ich möchte, dass ihr darauf achtet, wie wir dahin gelangen.
Aus der Geschichte von Ruth und Boas erkennen wir, dass Er sich als Verwandschaftserlöser offenbaren und dazu ins Fleisch kommen musste.
E-32 Wir sehen jetzt, dass die Eigenschaften, die Söhne Seines Geistes, noch nicht in den Leib, in die Wortform, eingegangen sind - in die Theophanie. Dieser Leib ist dem Wort Untertan, wir haben das Unterpfand und warten auf die Verwandlung unseres Leibes.
Jetzt wollen wir den Unterschied zwischen Ihm als Sohn und euch als Sohn betrachten. ER war im Anfang das Wort, ein En-morphe-Leib. ER nahm ihn ein und lebte darin als Person Melchisedek. Später hören wir nichts mehr von Melchisedek, denn Er wurde Jesus Christus. Melchisedek war der Priester, doch Er wurde Jesus Christus. Ihr seid nicht durch diesen Werdegang gekommen, denn in dieser Gestalt wußte Er alle Dinge, und ihr seid bis jetzt noch niemals imstande gewesen, sie zu wissen.
Ihr seid wie Adam und ich gekommen. Ihr seid von der Eigenschaft ins Fleisch gekommen, um versucht zu werden. Doch wenn dieses Leben hier beendet ist, „wenn unsere irdische Hütte abgebrochen sein wird, erhalten wir einen Leib, der schon bereit ist.” Dahin gehen wir; das ist das Wort. Dann können wir zurückblicken und sehen, was wir getan haben. Jetzt verstehen wir es noch nicht. Wir sind noch nicht das Wort geworden; wir sind nur der Fleischesmensch geworden, nicht das Wort.
Gebt gut acht, daraus geht klar hervor, dass ihr nie das Wort sein könnt, es sei denn, ihr wart schon am Anfang als Gedanke vorhanden. Das beweist die Vorherbestimmung Gottes. Ihr könnt nicht das Wort sein, wenn ihr kein Gedanke wart. Ihr musstet zuerst in den Gedanken sein. Doch seht, um versucht werden zu können, musstet ihr die Theophanie übergehen. Ihr musstet im Fleisch hierherkommen, um durch die Sünde versucht werden zu können. Und nachdem ihr gesündigt habt, steht: „Alle, die der Vater Mir gegeben hat, kommen zu Mir. Und Ich werde sie am jüngsten Tage auferwecken.” Seht, ihr musstet zuerst ein Gedanke sein.
E-33 ER kam in der richtigen Reihenfolge herab - von der Eigenschaft zum Wort. Vor Grundlegung der Welt wurden die Namen in das Lebensbuch des Lammes geschrieben. Deshalb wurde Er das Wort - die Theophanie, worin Er erscheinen und sich wieder entfernen kann. Dann wurde Er Fleisch und kehrte wieder zurück. ER hat diesen Leib in einem verherrlichten Zustand auferweckt.
Ihr jedoch habt die Theophanie übergangen und seid ein Fleischesmensch geworden, um von der Sünde versucht zu werden. Doch sobald „dieses irdische Haus abgebrochen wird, haben wir bereits eines, das uns erwartet.” Jetzt haben wir jenen Leib noch nicht.
Doch seht, wenn der Geist Gottes in diesen Leib hineinkommt, ist das unsterbliche Leben in euch und macht diesen Leib Gott Untertan. Halleluja! „Jeder, der aus Gott geboren ist, sündigt nicht.” Er kann nicht sündigen. In Röm. 8:1+4, steht: „So gibt es also jetzt keine Verdammnis mehr für die, welche in Christus Jesus sind... die wir nicht nach dem Fleische wandeln, sondern nach dem Geiste.” Da habt ihr es. Seht, es macht euren Leib Untertan.
Ihr braucht nicht zu sagen: „Oh, wenn ich nur zu trinken aufhören könnte!” „Wenn ich nur dieses oder jenes tun könnte!” Kommt einfach in Christus hinein, dann ist alles andere verschwunden, weil euer Leib dem Geist und nicht mehr den Dingen der Welt Untertan ist. Sie sind tot; sie sind gestorben. Eure Sünden sind durch die Taufe begraben, und ihr seid eine neue Schöpfung in Christus. Euer Leib wird dem Geist Untertan und versucht, die rechte Art von Leben zu führen.
E-34 Wie könnt ihr Frauen, die ihr behauptet, den Heiligen Geist zu haben, hinausgehen und Shorts tragen usw.? Wie könnte der Geist Gottes in euch je zulassen, dass ihr so etwas tut? Es kann einfach nicht sein! Bestimmt nicht! ER ist kein schmutziger Geist; Er ist ein heiliger Geist!
Wenn ihr dem Geist Untertan seid, dann wird euer ganzes Wesen dem Geist untergeordnet.Der Geist ist nichts anderes auf der Welt als dieser Wortsame, der offenbar und lebendig gemacht worden ist. Halleluja! Er ist zum Leben gebracht. Wenn die Bibel sagt: „Tue das nicht!”, dann richtet der Leib sich schnell danach; daran besteht kein Zweifel.
Was ist es? Es ist das Unterpfand für die Auferstehung. Dieser Leib wird auferweckt werden, denn damit ist bereits begonnen worden. Einst war er der Sünde, dem Schmutz, der Verdorbenheit Untertan. Doch nun hat er das Unterpfand und ist auf den Himmel ausgerichtet. Das ist das Unterpfand dafür, dass ihr an der Entrückung teilnehmen werdet. Es ist das Unterpfand.
Selbst wenn ein Kranker im Sterben liegt und ihn nur noch der Tod erwartet und sonst nichts mehr - ich habe Menschen gesehen, die von Krebs oder Tuberkulose zerfressen und nur noch ein Schatten waren, und kurz darauf waren dieselben Menschen vollkommen gesund und kräftig! Wenn es keine göttliche Heilung gibt, dann gibt es auch keine Auferstehung, denn die göttliche Heilung ist das Unterpfand für die Auferstehung.
Ihr wißt ja, was ein „Angeld” ist, nicht wahr? Es ist die Anzahlung.“ER war verwundet um unserer Übertretungen willen,... und durch Seine Striemen ist uns Heilung zuteil geworden.” Seht wie wunderbar! Wir lieben Ihn.
E-35 Dieser Leib ist dem Geist untertan. Obwohl er noch nicht in die Wortgestalt eingegangen ist und wir uns noch immer in der Fleischesgestalt befinden, ist er dem Wort Untertan. Der leibliche Tod wird uns dorthin bringen.
Es ist dasselbe, wie bei der Geburt eines Kindes. Beobachtet einmal eine Frau, die schwanger ist und bald Mutter werden soll. Ganz gleich, wie boshaft sie ist: kurz bevor das Kind zur Welt kommt, wird sie wirklich nett, egal wie hartherzig sie vorher war. Etwas an einer Frau, die Mutter werden soll und sich auf die Geburt des Kindes vorbereitet, scheint göttlich zu sein. Warum ist das so? Der kleine Leib hat noch kein Leben in sich. Er besteht zunächst nur aus Fleisch und Muskeln. Die Bewegungen kommen nur daher, weil die Muskeln intakt sind, doch wenn es aus dem Mutterleib herauskommt, haucht Gott ihm den Lebensodem ein, und es schreit. Seht, so gewiß ein natürlicher Leib geformt wird, erwartet ihn dort ein geistlicher Leib, sobald es hier ankommt.
E-36 Wenn ein Mensch vom Himmel her wiedergeboren ist, wird er zu einem geistlichen Baby in Christus.
Wenn diese Fleischeshülle abgelegt wird, erwartet uns ein übernatürlicher Leib, die Theophanie - ein Leib, der weder mit Händen gemacht noch von einer Frau geboren wurde, in den wir hineingehen.
Dann kehrt dieser Leib zurück und nimmt den verherrlichten Leib auf.
Das ist der Grund, weshalb Jesus, nachdem Er gestorben war, in die Hölle ging und den Seelen im Gefängnis predigte. ER kehrte in die Theophanie zurück. O wie wunderbar! Dank sei Gott.
In 2. Kor. 5:1 steht: „Wir wissen ja, dass, wenn unser irdisches Haus, das Leibeszelt, abgebrochen sein wird, wir einen von Gott bereiteten Bau erhalten.” Seht, wir haben es übergangen, direkt von Gott aus als Eigenschaft zu kommen, und wurden statt dessen Fleisch, um von der Sünde versucht und geprüft zu werden wie Adam. Doch wenn die Prüfung durch Sein Wort vorüber ist, werden wir in diesen Leib hinaufgenommen, der für uns schon vor Grundlegung der Welt bereitet wurde. Es ist das Wort, das wir „übersprungen” haben, und statt dessen kamen wir direkt hierher, um versucht und geprüft zu werden. Wenn wir durch dasselbe gekommen wären, hätte es keine Versuchung gegeben, und wir wüßten alle Dinge. Das ist der Grund, weshalb Jesus alles wußte, denn Er war Wort, bevor Er Fleisch wurde.
Wir werden erst zum Wort. Wir werden hier in die Gestalt des Wortes geformt, um Teilhaber des Wortes zu sein, und leben von dem Wort, weil wir seit dem Anfang vorherbestimmt sind. Ihr seht, dass ihr von Anfang an, schon seit euer Lebensweg begann, einen kleinen Funken dieses Lebens in euch hattet. Viele von euch können sich daran erinnern. Ihr tratet dieser Kirche, und ihr tratet jener Gemeinde bei, habt dies und jenes versucht, doch nichts stellte euch zufrieden. Das stimmt. Eines Tages aber habt ihr es erkannt! Jawohl!
E-37 An einem Abend lehrte ich neulich irgendwo; ich meine, es war in Kalifornien oder in Arizona. Ich glaube, die Geschichte von dem Mann, der ein Adlerei unter all die Hühnereier, die ausgebrütet werden sollten, gelegt hat, habe ich hier schon erzählt. Als das Adlerjunge ausschlüpfte, war es der eigenartigste Vogel, den die Küken je gesehen hatten. Er war der häßlichste unter ihnen, ging umher und konnte nicht verstehen, dass die Henne gluckte, im Misthaufen herumscharrte und das auch noch aß. Er konnte einfach nicht begreifen, was das sollte. Sie sagte vielleicht: „Liebling, komm und schmause hier.” Er war ein Adler; er mochte das nicht essen. Es war keine Speise für ihn.
Sie fing Heuschrecken und alles mögliche und rief dann die kleinen Küken zusammen. All die kleinen Küken folgten dem Ruf, piepsten und aßen. Der junge Adler aber konnte es einfach nicht. Ihm kam es nicht richtig vor.
Eines Tages machte sich die Adlermutter auf die Suche nach ihm.
E-38 Er hörte das Glucken der Henne und versuchte, auch zu glucken; aber er konnte es nicht. Er versuchte zu piepen wie ein Küken, doch auch das konnte er nicht. Seht, er war ein Adler. Von Anfang an war er Adler. Er war nur unter einer Henne ausgebrütet worden.
Das ist wie einige Kirchenmitglieder. Das ist ungefähr so wie es ist; etwa einer von einer Einstellung, ist richtig. Eines Tages aber flog seine Mutter über den Hof und rief. Das erkannte er. Das hörte sich richtig an. Weshalb? Weil Er von Anfang an ein Adler war.
So ist es mit dem Evangelium, mit dem Wort, mit der Kraft Jesu Christi. Wenn ein Mensch zum ewigen Leben vorherbestimmt ist und er hört diesen wahren Ton, den Ruf Gottes, dann kann ihn nichts davon zurückhalten.
Die Gemeinde mag sagen: „Die Tage der Wunder sind vorbei. Gluck! Gluck! Gluck! Bleibe hier und esse dies. Bleibe hier und esse das.”
Das Zeug auf dem Hühnerhof ist dann nichts mehr für ihn. Er eilt davon. „Alles ist möglich!” Er hebt vom Boden ab.
Hier stimmt es mit so vielen Christen von heute nicht: sie bekommen ihre Füße nicht vom Boden los.
Die Mutter rief: „Sohn, springe hoch; du bist ein Adler. Komm hier herauf, wo ich bin.”
Er wandte ein: „Mama, ich bin nie in meinem Leben hochgesprungen.”
Sie sagte: „Springe einfach, denn du warst von Anfang an ein Adler und kein Küken.” Also machte er seinen ersten Sprung und schlug mit seinen Flügeln. Es ging noch nicht so gut, doch er hob vom Boden ab.
So ergeht es uns, wenn wir Gott durch den Glauben an das geschriebene Wort annehmen. Darin ist etwas. Seht, es ist das ewige Leben, zu dem ihr vorherbestimmt worden seid.
Sein Großvater und seine Großmutter waren Adler; er war von jeher ein Adler. Ein Adler vermischt sich nicht mit etwas anderem. Er ist keine Kreuzung; er ist ein Adler.
E-39 Als er feststellte, dass das Wort Gottes die Adlerspeise ist, hat er alles andere verlassen. Dann seid ihr in das Bild des lebendigen Gottes umgestaltet. Ihr habt von der Theophanie gehört, die wir erhalten, wenn dieser irdische Leib aufgelöst wird.
Ihr fragt: „Stimmt das, Bruder Branham?”
Nun gut, laßt uns einige Adler herausgreifen und sie für ein paar Minuten betrachten. Da war ein Mann namens Moses. Jeder weiß, dass ein Prophet in der Bibel mit einem Adler verglichen wird. Dieser Moses war ein Prophet. Eines Tages rief Gott ihn. Er durfte nicht in das Land hinübergehen, sondern musste auf einem Berg sterben. Die Engel nahmen ihn weg und beerdigten ihn. Es gab einen anderen Mann, der ebenfalls ein Adler war; dieser brauchte nicht einmal zu sterben. Er ging über den Jordan, und Gott sandte einen Wagen herab. Dann legte er die Fleischeshülle ab, fuhr empor und erlangte den ewigen Preis.
Achthundert Jahre später standen diese beiden Männer auf dem Verklärungsberge. Der Leib Moses war schon seit Hunderten von Jahren verwest, doch er war dort in einer Gestalt, in der sogar Petrus, Jakobus und Johannes ihn erkannten. „Wenn unser irdisches Haus abgebrochen sein wird...”, wenn ihr eine Eigenschaft Gottes seid, die hier auf Erden zum Ausdruck gekommen ist, dann erwartet euch ein Leib, sobald ihr diese Welt verlassen habt. Sie standen dort in ihrer Theophanie auf dem Verklärungsberg, denn sie waren Propheten, zu denen das Wort des Herrn kam.
E-40 Wir wollen noch einen anderen Propheten betrachten. Sein Name war Samuel. Er war ein bedeutender Mann. Er hatte Israel gelehrt und ihnen gesagt, dass sie keinen König fordern sollten. Er fragte sie: „Habe ich euch je etwas im Namen des Herrn gesagt, das nicht eingetroffen wäre?”
„Nein”, antworteten sie, „alles, was du im Namen des Herrn sagtest, ist geschehen.”
Er war ein Prophet. Er starb.
Etwa drei, vier Jahre später geriet der König in Schwierigkeiten. Das war ja noch, bevor das Blut Jesu Christi vergossen wurde. Er befand sich im Paradies. Die Hexe von Endor rief jemanden hervor, um Saul zu trösten. Als dann die Hexe sah, wie er heraufstieg, sprach sie: „Ein Götterwesen sehe ich aus der Erde heraufsteigen.”
E-41 Nachdem der Mann gestorben, begraben und verwest war, stand er dort in dieser Höhle in seinem Prophetenmantel und war immer noch ein Prophet. Amen! Er sagte: „Warum störst du mich in meiner Ruhe, da du doch ein Feind Gottes geworden bist?” Gebt acht, wie er weissagte: „Morgen um diese Zeit wirst du bei mir sein.” Er war immer noch ein Prophet, obwohl er diesen Leib verlassen hatte.
Seht, er war hier zu einem Teil des Wortes geworden und ging aus dem Leben des Fleisches hinein in den Leib, der schon vor Grundlegung der Welt für ihn bereitet worden war. Er ging hinein in die Theophanie, welche das Wort ist. Habt ihr es begriffen? Dahin gehen alle Gläubigen, wenn sie von hier scheiden.
In dieser Gestalt ist der Vorhang dann weggenommen. Sobald ihr dort eingeht, werdet ihr erkennen, dass auch ihr das Wort seid. Ich habe ja vorhin das Beispiel von dem Baby gegeben.
Beachtet es. Preist Gott für die Öffnung der Siegel. Mein Gebet ist, dass wir diese Dinge erkennen dürfen.
E-42 Jetzt tut sich die wahre Offenbarung des Melchisedek auf - nämlich, dass Er Gott, das Wort, war, ehe Er Fleisch wurde. Gott - das Wort. ER musste es sein, denn niemand anders als Er war unsterblich. Seht, ich habe einen Vater und eine Mutter, und ihr ebenfalls. Auch Jesus hatte einen Vater und eine Mutter. Doch dieser Mann hatte keinen Vater und keine Mutter. Jesus hatte einen Anfang Seines Lebens; dieser Mann nicht. Jesus gab Sein Leben; dieser Mann konnte es nicht, weil Er das Leben war. Dennoch ist es immer der gleiche Mann. Ich hoffe, dass Gott es euch offenbart. Es ist immer die gleiche Person.
Beachtet Seine Titel: „König der Gerechtigkeit”, „König des Friedens”, wie es in Hebr. 7:2 steht. „König der Gerechtigkeit” und „König des Friedens” - Er ist zweifacher König. In Hebr. 7:2 wird Er als zweifacher König genannt: „König der Gerechtigkeit” und auch „König des Friedens”. Nachdem Er ins Fleisch gekommen war und in Seinem Leib aufgefahren ist, wird Er in Offbg. 19:16 als „König der Könige” bezeichnet. Alle drei Bezeichnungen treffen auf ihn zu: König - Gott, König - Theophanie, König - Jesus. ER ist der König der Könige.
Es gehört alles zusammen wie Seele, Leib und Geist. All das ergibt eine Einheit.
ER ist auch der Vater, der der Erste war; Sohn; und der Heilige Geist, der Geist. König der Gerechtigkeit, das Attribut des Geistes - Theophanie; König des Friedens, Theophanie; und in Fleisch war Er König von Königen, dieselbe Person.
E-43 Als die Theophanie Moses ihn sah. In 2. Moses 33 war Er in die Theophanie. Moses wollte Gott sehen. Er hatte Seine Stimme gehört, als Er mit ihm aus einem Dornbusch gesprochen hatte, und Ihn als Feuersäule gesehen. Er fragte: „Wer bist Du? Ich möchte wissen. wer Du bist.” Moses bat: „Ich möchte Dein Angesicht schauen.”
ER antwortete: „Mein Angesicht kann nicht geschaut werden. Ich werde Meine Hand schirmend über dich halten und an dir vorüberziehen. Dann kannst du Meine Rückseite schauen. Mein Angesicht aber nicht.” Und als Er vorüberzog, sah er die Rückseite eines Mannes. Es war die Theophanie. Das Wort, das zu Moses kam, der ICH BIN, das war das Wort. Das Wort kam aus einem brennenden Busch in Gestalt der Feuersäule zu Moses - der ICH BIN.
Als das Wort in Gestalt die Theologie ... aus der Theophanie, eher. Entschuldigen Sie mich. Kam Er zu Abraham und setzte sich unter die Terebinthe. Betrachtet das jetzt einmal. Es kamen drei Männer zu Abraham und setzten sich unter die Terebinthe. Seht, Er sprach mit Abraham.
E-44 Weshalb war Er gekommen? Abraham hatte die Verheißung und die Botschaft, dass er einen Sohn bekommen sollte. Er war ebenfalls ein Wort-Prophet Gottes, der dem Worte Gottes vertraute und alles Gegensätzliche betrachtete, als wäre es nicht da. Seht ihr, wie Perfekt das Wort ist? Das Wort kam zu dem Propheten. Seht, dort war Gott in die Theophanie, und die Bibel sagt: „Das Wort kommt zu den Propheten.” Hier war nun das Wort in die Theophanie.
Nun fragt ihr: „War das Gott?” Abraham sagte, dass Er es war. Er nannte Ihn bei Namen, und zwar „Elohim”. In 1. Moses 1 finden wir, dass dort eigentlich steht: „Im Anfang schuf Elohim Himmel und Erde.” In 1. Moses 18 stellen wir fest, dass Abraham die Person Elohim nannte, die sich dort gesetzt hatte, mit ihm sprach, ihm die Geheimnisse seines Herzens sagen konnte, und auch das, was Sara, die sich hinter Ihm befand, dachte. ER befand sich in der Gestalt die Theophanie. Habt ihr das verstanden? Beachten Sie, danach…
E-45 Wir haben nun festgestellt, dass Er dort in der Gestalt die Theophanie war. Er nannte Ihn: „Herr, Gott, Elohim.” Wir können in 1. Moses 18 nachlesen, dass es stimmt.
Beachtet, es waren drei, die dorthin kamen. Doch als Abraham ihnen begegnete, sagte er: „Mein Herr.”
Zwei von ihnen gingen dann zu Lot nach Sodom, und als Lot die beiden kommen sah, sprach er: „Meine Herren.” Wie kam das? Erstens war Lot kein Prophet, zweitens war er nicht der Botschafter jener Stunde. ER offenbarte sich ihm nicht. Das stimmt genau. Lot konnte ruhig „Herren” sagen, selbst wenn es ein Dutzend gewesen wären, hätte er „Herren” sagen können.
Doch ganz gleich, wie viele Abraham sah, er erkannte trotzdem den einen Herrn. Das ist Gott; das ist der Melchisedek.
Beachtet, als der Kampf vorüber war, reichte Melchisedek Seinem siegreichen Kind das Abendmahl - einen Teil von Ihm selbst. Jetzt wollen wir das Abendmahl betrachten, das hier als Sinnbild dargestellt ist. Nach dem Kampf schenkte Er sich selbst, denn das Abendmahl ist ein Teil Christi. Nachdem der Kampf vorüber ist, nachdem ihr von euch selbst befreit wurdet, habt ihr Anteil an Christus, seid ihr ein Teil dieses Wesens. Habt ihr es begriffen?
E-46 Jakob rang die ganze Nacht und wollte Ihn nicht eher loslassen, bis Er ihn gesegnet hatte. Das stimmt. Der Kampf um das Leben. Nachdem der Kampf vorüber ist, gibt Gott euch von sich selbst. Das ist Sein wahres Abendmahl. Das kleine Brot stellt es nur dar. Ihr solltet nicht daran teilnehmen, bis ihr durchgerungen habt und ein Teil Gottes geworden seid.
Denkt daran, zu der Zeit war das Abendmahl noch nicht eingesetzt worden, sondern erst einige hundert Jahre später, kurz vor dem Tod Jesu Christi.
Melchisedek jedoch begegnete Seinem Kind Abraham, nachdem er den Sieg errungen hatte, und gab ihm Brot und Wein. Es zeigt, dass wir Ihm, nachdem dieser Kampf auf Erden vorüber ist, im Himmel begegnen und das Abendmahl wieder feiern werden. Es wird das Hochzeitsmahl sein. „ICH werde von nun an von diesem Erzeugnis des Weinstocks nicht mehr trinken, bis zu jenem Tage, an dem Ich es mit euch neu trinken werde im Reiche Meines Vaters.” Das stimmt!
E-47 Beachtet es noch einmal: Melchisedek kam dem Abraham entgegen, bevor dieser nach Hause zurückkehrte. Welch ein herrliches Schattenbild haben wir hier: Melchisedek begegnete Abraham nach dem Kampf, bevor er nach Hause kam.
Wir begegnen Jesus in der Luft, ehe wir nach Hause gehen. Das stimmt, 1. Thess. 4 sagt uns, dass wir Ihm in der Luft begegnen. Ein herrliches Schattenbild darauf ist die Begegnung Isaaks mit Rebekka in der Abenddämmerung. Wir werden Ihm in der Luft begegnen, so sagt es 1. Thess. 4: „Wir, die wir leben, die wir bis zur Ankunft des Herrn übrigbleiben, werden vor den Entschlafenen nichts voraushaben. Denn der Herr selbst wird, sobald Sein Weckruf ergeht, sobald die Stimme des Engelfürsten erschallt und die Posaune Gottes ertönt, vom Himmel herabkommen, und die Toten in Christus werden zuerst auferstehen; darauf werden wir, die wir noch leben und übriggeblieben sind, zusammen mit ihnen auf Wolken dem Herrn entgegen in die Luft entrückt werden.” All diese Schattenbilder sind vollkommen.
Nun zur die Theophanie. Was geschieht, wenn ihr gestorben und in die Theophanie eingegangen seid? Die Theophanie kommt zur Erde zurück, um den erlösten Leib aufzunehmen. Im Luftbereich findet dann die Begegnung des Leibes mit die Theophanie statt. So ist es. Wir werden hinaufgenommen und begegnen dem Herrn in der Luft.
Dieser Melchisedek ist niemand anders als Gott.
E-48 Hier sehen wir ganz klar das vollständige Geheimnis unseres Lebens, unserer Pilgerreise, unseres Todes und wohin wir gehen, nachdem wir gestorben sind. Auch die Vorherbestimmung ist hier klar ersichtlich. Hört gut zu, wenn wir das noch eingehender lehren.
Die Stadien Seines ewigen Vorhabens, die Er geheimgehalten hat, sind jetzt geoffenbart. Beachtet, es sind drei Stadien bis zur Vollkommenheit. Genauso wie Er die Welt erlöst, erlöst Er auch Seine Gemeinde. ER bringt die Erlösung der Menschen in drei Stadien zum Abschluß. Seht, das erste ist die Rechtfertigung, die Luther predigte; das zweite ist die Heiligung, die Wesley predigte; das dritte die Taufe des Heiligen Geistes. Das stimmt. Dann findet die Entrückung statt.
Wie erlöste Er die Welt? Als erstes, nachdem die Sünde gekommen war, wusch Er sie mit einer Wassertaufe. Das stimmt. Dann ließ Er Sein Blut vom Kreuz herab auf sie fließen, heiligte sie und beanspruchte sie als Sein Eigentum. Was tut Er danach? So, wie Er die gesamte Welt aus euch herausgerissen und euch durch die feurige Taufe des Heiligen Geistes völlig erneuert hat, wird Er auch die Welt renovieren. Sie wird mit Feuer abgebrannt und Millionen von Meilen hoch von jedem Keim befreit - alles wird gereinigt werden. Dann kommt ein neuer Himmel und eine neue Erde, so wie ihr zu einer neuen Schöpfung in Christus Jesus geworden seid, als der Heilige Geist von euch Besitz ergriff. Seht, da habt ihr es. Das ganze ist so klar, wie es nur sein kann. Alles besteht in drei.
E-49 Die natürliche Geburt hat drei Stadien. Was geschieht als erstes, wenn eine Frau ein Kind zur Welt bringt? Was kommt zuerst hervor? Wasser. Was als nächstes? Blut. Was dann? Das Leben. Wasser, Blut, Geist.
Was geschieht mit einer Pflanze? Zunächst verwest sie. Was kommt als erstes hervor? Der Halm. Was als nächstes? Die Ähre. Und dann? Die Hülse. Schließlich kommt daraus das Korn hervor. Es sind drei Stufen, bis das Korn entsteht. Das stimmt genau.
Gott bestätigt das. Es ist immer richtig gewesen. Gott beweist, dass es wahr ist. Es zeigt ganz klar, dass die Vorherbestimmten die einzigen sind, für welche die Erlösung gilt. Habt ihr das erfaßt? Ich möchte das wiederholen. Die Vorherbestimmten sind die einzigen, die in der Erlösung berücksichtigt sind. Die Menschen mögen so tun und meinen, sie seien es, doch die wirklich Erlösten sind diejenigen, die vorherbestimmt sind, denn das Wort erlösen bedeutet zurückbringen. Stimmt das? Etwas zu erlösen bedeutet, es an seinen ursprünglichen Platz zurückbringen. Halleluja! Deshalb werden nur die Vorherbestimmten zurückgebracht, denn die anderen kommen ja nicht von dort. Nur sie werden zurückgebracht.
E-50 Am Anfang waren wir ewig wie Er. Ihr hattet ewiges Leben, und Er wollte, dass ihr das seid, was Er in Seinen Gedanken hatte. Wenn Er z. B. wollte, dass ich auf diesem Podium stehe oder dass ihr heute Abend dort sitzt, dann entsprechen wir Seinem ewigen Vorhaben. Der Eine, der Sein Heim verließ und zur Erde kam, tat es nur, um Sein Vorhaben auszuführen. Stimmt das? Nachdem es abgeschlossen ist, befindet es sich wieder in dem verherrlichten Zustand. Es ist zur Reife gekommen und wieder zurückgebracht.
Kein Wunder, dass Paulus, als man die Hinrichtungsstätte aufbaute, um ihn zu enthaupten, sagen konnte: „Tod, wo ist dein Stachel? Hölle, wo ist dein Sieg? Dank sei Gott, der uns den Sieg verleiht.” Er wollte damit ausdrücken: „Tod, sage mir, wie du mir Angst machen willst. Grab, sage mir, wie du mich festhalten willst. Denn ich bin im Besitz des ewigen Lebens.” Amen. Er erkannte es. Weder Tod noch Hölle noch Grab - nichts konnte ihn festhalten. Auch uns kann nichts schaden, denn wir haben ewiges Leben. Er wußte, dass er mit ewigem Leben gesegnet war.
E-51 Es ist wie bei einem Tautropfen. Ich verstehe nicht viel von Chemie, aber er muss durch Kondensation von Luftfeuchtigkeit entstehen. Wenn die Nacht kalt und dunkel ist, fällt er vom Himmel auf den Boden. Er kommt von irgendwoher. Bevor am nächsten Morgen die Sonne aufgeht, liegt er dort und zittert. Doch beobachtet einmal, wie er zu funkeln beginnt, sobald die Sonne hervorkommt. Dann ist er froh. Weshalb? Weil ihn die Sonne dahin zurückzieht, von wo er gekommen ist.
Genauso ist es mit einem Christen. Halleluja! Wir wissen, sobald wir in die Gegenwart Gottes kommen, sagt uns etwas in uns, dass wir von irgendwoher gekommen sind und durch die Kraft, die uns zieht, wieder dahin zurückkehren.
Der kleine Tautropfen glitzert, leuchtet und jauchzt, denn er weiß, dass er von dort oben kommt und dass die Sonne ihn wieder dorthin zurückbringt.
Und wenn ein Mensch, der eine Eigenschaft Gottes und aus Gott geboren ist, in Berührung mit dem Sohn Gottes kommt, dann weiß er, dass er eines Tages von hier hinaufgenommen wird. Halleluja! „ICH werde, wenn Ich von der Erde erhöht sein werde, alle zu Mir ziehen.”
E-52 Gebt acht! Wir haben Melchisedek erkannt und weshalb Maria nicht Seine Mutter war. Deshalb nannte Er sie Weib, nicht Mutter.ER hatte keinen Vater, denn Er war der Vater, der ewige Vater; alle drei in einem. ER hatte keine Mutter, gewiß nicht. ER hatte keinen Vater, denn Er war der Vater. So drückte der Liederdichter es einmal in einem Lied aus, durch das er Jesus die Ehre geben wollte:
ICH bin es, der aus einem brennenden Busch zu Moses sprach.
ICH bin der Gott Abrahams, der helle Morgenstern.
ICH bin Alpha und Omega, der Anfang und das Ende.
In Mir besteht die ganze Schöpfung, und Jesus ist Mein Name.
(Das ist richtig.)
Was sagt ihr, wer Ich bin?
Was meint ihr, woher Ich komme?
Kennt ihr Meinen Vater?
Wißt ihr Seinen Namen?
(Halleluja!)
Das ist der Name des Vaters. „ICH bin im Namen Meines Vaters gekommen, doch ihr nehmt Mich nicht an.” ER ist wirklich derselbe, gestern, heute und in Ewigkeit.
E-53 Dieser Melchisedek wurde Fleisch. ER offenbarte sich als Menschensohn, indem Er als Prophet auftrat. ER kam in drei Sohnesbezeichnungen: als Menschensohn, Sohn Gottes, Sohn Davids.
Als Er hier auf Erden wandelte, war Er Mensch, um die Schrift zu erfüllen. Moses sagte: „Einen Propheten gleich mir wird der Herr, dein Gott, dir aus deiner Mitte erstehen lassen.” Deshalb musste Er als Prophet kommen. ER sagte nie: „ICH bin der Sohn Gottes.” ER sagte: „ICH bin der Menschensohn. Glaubt ihr dem Menschensohn?” Davon musste Er Zeugnis ablegen, denn das war Er.
Jetzt ist Er in einer anderen Sohnesbezeichnung, nämlich als Sohn Gottes, als der Unsichtbare, der Geist gekommen.
Wenn Er wiederkommt, wird Er der Sohn Davids sein und Seinen Thron aufrichten.
E-54 Als Er herabgekommen und Fleisch geworden war, bezeichnete man Ihn als Menschensohn. Wie hat Er sich der Welt als Menschensohn, als Prophet, zu erkennen gegeben?
Einmal erzählte ich die Geschichte von Petrus und seinem Bruder Andreas. Sie waren Fischer. Ihr Vater hieß Jonas und war einer jener alten wirklich Gläubigen. Eines Tages, so sagte ich, setzte er sich auf den Rand des Bootes und sprach: „Meine Söhne, ihr wißt, wie wir gebetet haben, wenn wir Fische benötigten.” (Sie lebten vom Fischfang.) Er sagte: „Wir haben Jehova, Gott, vertraut, dass Er für unseren Lebensunterhalt sorgt. Ich werde alt und werde nicht mehr allzu lange bei euch Jungen bleiben. Ich habe immer mit all den wahrhaft Gläubigen nach der Zeit Ausschau gehalten, wenn der Messias kommen wird. Wir hatten alle möglichen Betrüger, doch eines Tages wird Er wirklich kommen.” Er fuhr fort: „Wenn dieser Messias kommt, möchte ich nicht, dass ihr Jungs betrogen werdet. Dieser Messias wird nicht einfach ein Theologe, sondern Er wird ein Prophet sein, denn unser Prophet Moses, dem wir folgen, hat es gesagt.”
Jeder Jude glaubt seinen Propheten. Das wird ihm gelehrt, und er weiß es. Wenn der Prophet etwas sagt, dann ist das so, dann ist das die Wahrheit. Gott sagte: „Wenn ein Prophet oder ein Geistlicher unter euch ist, so offenbare Ich, der Herr, Mich ihm. Wenn das, was er sagt, eintrifft, so hört auf ihn und fürchtet ihn. Wenn es aber nicht eintrifft, dann hört überhaupt nicht auf ihn.” Das war die Bestätigung des Propheten.
E-55 „Moses war wirklich ein bestätigter Prophet, und er hat gesagt: 'Einen Propheten gleich mir wird der Herr, dein Gott, dir aus deiner Mitte erstehen lassen. Und jeder, der nicht auf ihn hört, wird aus dem Volke ausgerottet werden.'” Dann sagte er: „Kinder, denkt daran: Wir Hebräer glauben den bestätigten Propheten Gottes.” Hört jetzt gut zu, verpaßt es nicht! Er sprach: „Wenn der Messias kommt, werdet ihr Ihn erkennen, denn der Messias wird ein Prophet sein. Ich habe euch gesagt, dass es vierhundert Jahre her ist, seit wir den letzten Propheten, Maleachi, hatten. Doch Er wird kommen!”
Einige Jahre nach seinem Tode ging sein Sohn Andreas eines Tages am Ufer entlang, und er hörte einen Mann der Wildnis, der aus der Wüste kam, sagen: „Der Messias ist mitten unter euch.” Dieser große Adler, der aus der Wüste aufstieg und darüber hinwegflog, sagte: „Der Messias ist jetzt mitten unter euch. Wir kennen Ihn noch nicht, aber Er steht mitten unter euch. Ich werde Ihn erkennen, denn ich werde ein Zeichen vom Himmel herabkommen sehen.”
Eines Tages sprach er: „Seht, das Lamm Gottes, welches der Welt Sünde hinwegnimmt.”
Dieser Mann machte sich dann auf, um seinen Bruder zu treffen, und sagte zu ihm: „Simon, ich möchte, dass du mit dorthin kommst, denn wir haben den Messias gefunden.”
„Ach was, Andreas, du müßtest es besser wissen!”
„Ja, ich weiß es, doch dieser Mann ist ganz anders.”
„Wo ist er? Woher kommt Er?”
„Es ist Jesus aus Nazareth.”
„Aus dieser kleinen, berüchtigten Stadt? Aus solch einem schlechten, schmutzigen Ort kann Er nicht kommen!”
„Komm doch mit und sieh selbst.”
Endlich gelang es ihm, ihn zu überzeugen, und er ging mit. Als er in die Nähe des Messias kam, stand Jesus gerade da und sprach zu den Menschen. So ging er ganz nahe heran, und Er sagte: „Dein Name ist Simon, du bist der Sohn des Jonas.” Dadurch geschah es! Er empfing die Schlüssel des Himmelreiches. Weshalb? Weil er wußte, dass dieser Mann ihn nicht kennen konnte. Wie sollte Er ihn und seinen alten, gottesfürchtigen Vater kennen, der ihn gelehrt hatte, wodurch er dem Messias glauben konnte?
E-56 Dort war auch ein Mann namens Philippus. Oh, er war wirklich überwältigt. Er kannte einen anderen Mann, mit dem er zusammen die Bibel durchforscht hat. Er begab sich über das Gebirge und fand ihn in seinem Olivenhain. Dort kniete er und betete. Sie hatten viele gemeinsame Bibelstunden gehabt. Er ging also dorthin, und als jener mit seinem Gebet zu Ende war, sagte er zu ihm: „Komm und sieh, wen wir gefunden haben: Jesus von Nazareth, den Sohn Josephs. ER ist der Messias, auf den wir warten.”
Ich kann Nathanael sagen hören: „Philippus, du bist doch nicht einem Irrtum verfallen?”
„O nein. Laß mich dir etwas sagen: Du weißt ja, wir haben die Bibel gemeinsam durchforscht. Was sagte der Prophet über den Messias?”
„Dass Er ein Prophet sein wird.”
„Kannst du dich noch an den Fischer mit Namen Simon erinnern, von dem du immer die Fische gekauft hast und der nicht einmal soviel gelernt hat, dass er seinen Namen schreiben kann?”
„Ja sicher.”
„Er kam dorthin, und weißt du was? Dieser Jesus aus Nazareth sagte ihm, dass sein Name Simon sei und dass er fortan Petrus heißen soll, welches kleiner Stein bedeutet. ER sagte ihm auch, wer sein Vater war.”
Er erwiderte: „Ich weiß nicht; kann denn aus Nazareth etwas Gutes kommen?”
Darauf sagte er: „Wir wollen nicht darüber reden, komm einfach mit und sieh selbst.” Das war eine gute Idee. „Komm und sieh!”
Also ging Philippus hin und nahm Nathanael mit. Als Jesus, der vielleicht gerade sprach oder für die Kranken betete, ihn auf sich zukommen sah, blickte Er ihn an und sprach: „Siehe da, in Wahrheit ein Israelit, in dem kein Falsch ist.”
E-57 Nun meint ihr, dass Er ihn an seiner Kleidung erkennen konnte. O nein! Im Osten sind alle einheitlich gekleidet. Seinem Bart und seiner Kleidung nach hätte er genausogut Syrer oder etwas anderes sein können.
ER sagte: „Siehe da, ein wahrer Israelit, in dem kein Falsch ist.” Mit anderen Worten: „Ein aufrichtiger und ehrlicher Mann.”
Da ging dem Nathanael die Luft aus! Er fragte: „Rabbi”, das bedeutet „Lehrer”, „Rabbi, woher kennst Du mich? Wie weißt Du, dass ich ein Jude bin? Wie weißt Du, dass ich aufrichtig und ohne Falsch bin?”
ER antwortete ihm: „Noch ehe Philippus dich rief, als du unter dem Baum warst, habe ich dich gesehen.” Das war fünfzehn Meilen entfernt, auf der anderen Seite des Berges, und am Tag zuvor gewesen!
Was sagte er? „Rabbi, Du bist Gottes Sohn, Du bist der König von Israel!”
E-58 Aber dort standen auch von sich eingenommene, formelle Priester und meinten: „Dieser Mann ist ein Beelzebub, ein Wahrsager.”
Jesus sprach: „ICH vergebe euch.”
Denkt daran, sie sagten das nicht laut, sie dachten es in ihrem Herzen. Doch Er kannte ihre Gedanken. Das stimmt. So sagt es die Bibel. Nennt es Telepathie, wenn ihr wollt, doch Er erkannte ihre Gedanken.
ER sprach: „ICH vergebe euch das, doch eines Tages wird der Heilige Geist kommen und dasselbe tun; wer dann ein Wort dagegen spricht, dem wird es weder in dieser noch in der zukünftigen Welt vergeben werden.” Stimmt das? Das waren Juden.
Einmal musste Er durch Samarien gehen. Doch bevor wir über jene Frau sprechen…
E-59 Wollen wir uns noch mit dem Mann befassen, den Er in der Nähe des Schaftores heilte. Jesus kannte seinen Zustand und sprach zu ihm: „Nimm dein Bett auf dich und gehe umher.” Das tat er und wurde gesund.
Wir erkennen also, dass einige von den Juden Ihn annahmen und glaubten; andere taten es nicht. Warum glaubten sie es nicht? Weil sie nicht zum Leben bestimmt waren. Sie waren kein Teil dieser Eigenschaft.
Denkt daran, jene waren Priester und angesehene Männer. Diese großen Theologen und Priester waren Menschen, in deren Leben man keinen Makel finden konnte. Doch Jesus sagte: „Ihr stammt vom Teufel als eurem Vater und vollbringt die Werke eures Vaters. Wenn ihr aus Gott wäret, würdet ihr Mir glauben. Wenn ihr Mir nicht glauben könnt, so glaubt doch den Werken, die Ich tue, denn sie legen Zeugnis davon ab, wer Ich bin.”
Die Bibel sagt, dass Jesus gestern, heute und in Ewigkeit derselbe ist. Jesus sagte: „Wer an Mich glaubt, wird die Werke, die Ich getan habe, auch tun.” Stimmt das? Beachtet, das war tatsächlich der Melchisedek.
E-60 Gebt weiter acht: Es gab nur drei Menschenrassen. Ihr habt mich sagen hören, dass ich für Rassentrennung bin. Das bin ich wirklich. Alle Christen sind für die Rassentrennung, aber nicht für eine Trennung zwischen den Hautfarben, sondern für eine Trennung der Geister. Die Hautfarbe eines Menschen hat nichts mit ihm zu tun. Durch die Wiedergeburt ist er ein Kind Gottes. Doch einem Christen sagt Gott: „Sondert euch ab!”, „Kommt aus ihrer Mitte heraus!” usw. ER ist für die Trennung vom Unflat und zwischen richtig und verkehrt.1 . Moses 9:19)
Beachtet: Damals hatte man wirklich die Rassentrennung, und zwar zwischen Juden und Samaritern. Für alle, die der Bibel glauben, gibt es nur drei Menschenrassen auf Erden: die von Sem, Ham und Japheth. Das waren die drei Söhne Noahs. Wir alle stammen davon ab. Das stimmt. Das macht uns alle zu Nachkommen Adams, also zu Brüdern. Die Bibel sagt: „Er hat auch gemacht, dass das ganze Menschengeschlecht von einem einzigen abstammt.” Aufgrund des Blutes sind wir alle Brüder. Ein Farbiger kann einem Weißen Blut spenden und umgekehrt. Ein Japaner, ein Gelber, ein Inder, ein Roter, oder wer auch immer, kann von einem Weißen eine Blutübertragung erhalten, denn wir stammen alle von dem gleichen Blut ab. Unsere Hautfarbe, oder wo wir wohnen, hat nichts damit zu tun.
Die Trennung erfolgt dadurch, dass wir aus der Welt herauskommen. So, wie Er Israel damals aus Ägypten herausbrachte, werden wir von den Dingen der Welt abgesondert.
E-61 Es gab die Geschlechter Sems, Hams und Japheths. Wenn wir Zeit hätten, uns damit zu befassen, könnten wir herausfinden, woher die Angelsachsen kommen. Nun, dort waren damals die Juden und die Samariter, die halb Juden und halb Heiden waren. Sie hatten sich nämlich durch eine List Bileams mit den heidnischen Moabitern vermischt. Es gab die Samariter, die Juden und die Heiden.
Wir Angelsachsen als Heiden hatten mit diesen beiden nichts zu tun, denn wir glaubten an keinen Messias. Wir hielten nicht nach Ihm Ausschau. Wir kamen erst später dazu.
Jesus kam zu den Seinen, doch die Seinen nahmen Ihn nicht auf. ER sagte zu Seinen Jüngern: „Gehet nicht zu den Heiden, sondern nur zu den verlorenen Schafen des Hauses Israel.” Auch Er ging nur zu den verlorenen Schafen Israels. Beachtet, Er tat sich den Juden als Menschensohn kund. Sie lehnten es ab.
Die Samariter, die halb Juden und halb Heiden waren, glaubten und warteten auch auf den Messias.
Wir Heiden warteten nicht. Wir waren Heiden, hatten Lasten zu tragen, huldigten den Götzen.
E-62 Eines Tages musste Er gemäß Joh. 4 auf dem Wege nach Jericho durch Samarien gehen. Dabei kam Er ins Gebiet einer samaritischen Stadt namens Sychar, in deren Nähe ein Brunnen war, und Er setzte sich dort nieder. Wenn ihr jemals dort gewesen seid, wißt ihr, dass man von dort einen schönen Rundblick hat; ungefähr wie dies hier. Dort ist ein öffentlicher Brunnen, wo alle ihr Wasser holen. Jeden Morgen kommen die Frauen dorthin, füllen ihre Krüge mit Wasser, stellen einen auf ihren Kopf, stemmen jeweils einen auf jede Hüfte und gehen so gerade damit, dass sie keinen einzigen Tropfen vergießen. Dabei unterhalten sie sich noch miteinander. Dorthin kommen also die Menschen.
Es war ungefähr 11:00 Uhr an jenem Tag, da sandte Er Seine Jünger in die Stadt, um Lebensmittel zu kaufen. Als sie weggegangen waren…
E-63 Es kam eine Frau dorthin, die einen schlechten Ruf hatte. Heute würde man sie als Prostituierte, als Dirne, bezeichnen. Sie hatte mehrere Männer. Während Jesus dort saß, kam diese Frau um die Mittagszeit dorthin. Sie konnte nicht mit den Jungfrauen am Morgen kommen, um das Waschwasser zu holen, sondern musste warten, bis die anderen fort waren. Sie hatten damals keinen Umgang miteinander, wie es jetzt der Fall ist. Sie war gebrandmarkt. Deshalb kam sie erst jetzt, um Wasser zu holen. Sie faßte die alte Winde, hängte den Krug an und begann gerade, ihn hinunterzulassen.
Als sie jemanden sagen hörte: „Weib, gib mir zu trinken.” Nun, denkt daran, dies ist Melchisedek; dies ist Jesus gestern - der Menschensohn. Sie blickte sich um und sah einen Juden. Da antwortete sie: „Mein Herr, es ziemt sich für einen Juden nicht, eine Samariterin um etwas zu bitten. Ich bin eine samaritische Frau und du hättest mich nicht ansprechen dürfen. Du solltest mich nicht um so etwas bitten, denn wir haben doch keinen Umgang miteinander.”
ER antwortete: „Wenn du wüßtest, wer mit dir redet, so würdest du Ihn bitten, dass Er dir zu trinken gäbe.”
Sie fragte: „Womit willst du schöpfen?Der Brunnen ist tief und du hast nichts, womit du schöpfen könntest.”
ER antwortete: „Das Wasser, das Ich gebe, wird zu einer Wasserquelle, die zu ewigem Leben sprudelt.”
ER sprach mit ihr, bis Er ihren Zustand feststellte. Beachtet, was Er dann zu ihr sagte: „Gehe hin, rufe deinen Mann und komm dann wieder hierher.”
Sie erwiderte: „Ich habe keinen Mann.”
Da sprach Er: „Du hast recht geantwortet, denn fünf Männer hast du gehabt, und der, den du jetzt hast, ist nicht dein Ehemann; damit hast du die Wahrheit gesagt.”
Beachtet den Unterschied zwischen dieser Frau und der Gruppe von Priestern. Sie wußte mehr über Gott als die ganze Gruppe der Priester zusammen.
E-64 Sie entgegnete: „Herr, ich sehe: Du bist ein Prophet. Seit vierhundert Jahren haben wir keinen mehr gehabt. Wir wissen, dass der Messias kommt, und wenn der Messias kommt, dann wird Er das tun.” Das war das Zeichen des Messias; denn Er war der Menschensohn. Sie sagte: „Wenn Er kommt, wird Er das tun. Du musst Sein Prophet sein.”
ER antwortete: „ICH bin es.” Niemand anders hätte das sagen können.
Sie ließ den Wasserkrug stehen, lief in die Stadt hinein und sprach: „Kommt und seht einen Mann, der mir alles gesagt hat, was ich getan habe. Ist das nicht der Messias?”
Denkt daran, Er hat verheißen, dasselbe am Ende der Heidenzeit zu tun.
Die Juden hatten viertausend Jahre, um auf den Messias zu warten - viertausend Jahre, in denen ihnen Sein Kommen gelehrt wurde und was Er tun würde, wenn Er hier ist; und dennoch erkannten sie Ihn nicht und begriffen es nicht. Obwohl Er sich genauso zu erkennen gab, wie Er es in der Bibel angekündigt hatte, als Er noch in der Theophanie war, erkannten sie es nicht, als Er dann Fleisch wurde und unter ihnen wohnte, und bezeichneten Seine Werke als die Werke des Teufels.
E-65 Wir hatten nun zweitausend Jahre der Belehrung nach der Zeit der Apostel. Es ging durch die römisch-katholische Kirche über die griechische usw., bis hin zum Zeitalter Luthers und Wesleys, bis etwa neunhundert verschiedene Organisationen entstanden waren. In all den Zeitaltern empfingen sie Belehrung.
ER hat verheißen, dass sich vor dem Ende der Zeit das wiederholen würde, was zur Zeit Sodoms und Gomorrhas geschah: „Wie es war in den Tagen Sodoms, so soll es sein in der Endzeit, wenn der Menschensohn sich wieder offenbart.” [Band einbrechen. - Verf.]
„Eine kleine Weile, und die Welt sieht Mich nicht mehr, doch ihr werdet Mich sehen, denn Ich (ein persönliches Fürwort) - Ich werde mit euch und in euch sein bis ans Ende der Welt. ICH werde mit euch sein.” ER ist derselbe, gestern, heute und in Ewigkeit. Seht ihr?
Ihr seht, die Samariter sind eigentlich, wie wir es in der Predigt von gestern Abend bei Hagar gesehen haben, ein entstelltes Sinnbild. Die Juden stammten von Sara ab; doch der königliche Same aus den Heiden ist mit Maria vergleichbar, die den königlichen Samen Abrahams aufnahm.
E-66 Für diese letzten Tage ist verheißen, dass derselbe Gott, derselbe Christus wiederkommen und sich als Menschensohn offenbaren wird.
Weshalb? Weil Er gestern, heute und in Ewigkeit derselbe ist. Wenn Er die Juden nicht ohne ihnen das Zeichen des Messias zu geben durchließ, dann wäre Er ungerecht, wenn Er die Heiden jetzt am Ende, nach aller Belehrung, nur aufgrund von Theologie eingehen ließe. ER muss dasselbe tun, weil die Bibel in Hebr. 13:8 sagt, dass Er derselbe ist.
ER hat in Maleachi 3, von Vers 19, und in verschiedenen Schriftstellen verheißen, dass die Gemeinde und die Welt in den letzten Tagen so sein würde, wie sie heute ist
Seht euch die Welt heute an; ihren sodomitischen Zustand. Seht die Erdbeben an verschiedenen Orten und die Dinge, die geschehen. Schaut, in welch einem Durcheinander, einem Babylon sich die Gemeinde befindet. Seht, die Botschafter, die zu ihr gesandt sind: Oral Roberts und Billy Graham.
Es ist das allererste Mal, dass wir einen Botschafter an alle Gemeinden haben, dessen Name mit h-a-m, wie Abraham, endet. A-b-r-a-h-a-m hat sieben Buchstaben, G-r-a-h-a-m hat sechs. An wen wendet er sich? An die Welt. Sechs ist die Zahl des Menschen. Der Mensch wurde am sechsten Tage geschaffen. Die Zahl Gottes ist die Sieben.
E-67 Schaut sie euch dort in Sodom an. Dort sind ihre Botschafter, die zu ihnen sprechen. Wo aber ist der königliche Same Abrahams? Wo ist sein Zeichen, von dem Er sagte: „Wie es war in den Tagen Lots”, als Gott herabkam, sich in menschlichem Fleisch kundtat und sagte, was Sara, die sich hinter Ihm im Zelt befand, in ihrem Herzen dachte - das letzte Zeichen, bevor die heidnische Welt mit Feuer zerstört wurde? Die Gemeinde hat ihr letztes Zeichen, bevor die ganze Welt, bevor die heidnischen Reiche durch das Feuer des Zornes Gottes zerstört werden, empfangen. Glaubt ihr das?
Dass Melchisedek Fleisch war, stellte sich in einem menschlichen Körper dar; und später wurde Er Fleisch gemacht. Und jetzt, heute Nacht, ist Er derselbe, gestern, heute und für immer. Glaubst ihr das?
Wer ist nun also dieser Melchisedek, der gestern, heute und in Ewigkeit derselbe ist? ER hatte keinen Vater und keine Mutter; Er hatte keinen Anfang Seiner Tage und auch kein Ende Seines Lebens. Was für eine Art von Zeichen vollführte Er, als Er Abraham begegnete? Als Er Fleisch geworden war, sagte Er, dass es sich in der Endzeit wiederholen wird. Glaubt ihr das? Ich glaube es.
Laßt uns beten.
E-68 Teurer Gott, ich glaube der Schrift, in der Du gesagt hast, dass Du gestern, heute und in Ewigkeit derselbe bist. Mit aufrichtigem Herzen weiß ich, Herr, dass etwas im Begriff zu geschehen ist. Ich kann es nicht genau identifizieren. Ich fürchte mich, etwas zu sagen, Herr. Doch Du kennst das Herz Deines Knechtes.
Wie oft sandtest Du während der ganzen Zeit Dinge, und die Menschen begriffen es nicht! Die Menschen danken Gott fortwährend für das, was Er getan hat, und sagen, was für große Dinge Er noch tun wird, gehen jedoch über das hinweg, was Er gerade tut. So ist es in allen Zeitaltern gewesen. Warum erkannte die römische Kirche nicht, dass St. Patrick ein Prophet Gottes war? Weshalb haben sie Jeanne d'Arc, die eine Prophetin war, getötet, als Hexe verbrannt? Vater, es ging immer an ihnen vorüber. DU verbirgst es vor den Augen der Weisen und Klugen. Kein Wunder, dass Du zu den Priestern sagtest: „Ihr schmückt die Gräber der Propheten, doch ihr seid es, die sie hineingetan haben.” Nachdem sie nicht mehr sind, sehen sie ihren Fehler ein. Sie haben Dich immer verfolgt, Herr. in welcher Gestalt Du auch gekommen bist.
E-69 Ich bete heute Abend noch einmal, o Gott. Morgen fahren wir nach Tucson zurück. Wir müssen in anderen Teilen der Welt, in anderen Städten predigen. Doch, teurer Gott, heute Abend sind vielleicht Fremde hier, die zwar Worte gepredigt hörten, sie aber nie Wirklichkeit werden sahen.
Ich bat Dich ja bereits zu Anfang, dass es so sein möge wie damals, als die Jünger, Kleophas und sein Freund, nach Emmaus gingen. Während sie dahinwanderten, tratst Du, nachdem Du auferstanden warst, zu ihnen und fingst an, mit ihnen zu sprechen und ihnen zu predigen. DU sagtest: „O ihr Gedankenlosen, wie ist doch euer Herz so träge, um an alles das zu glauben, was die Propheten verkündigt haben! Musste denn Christus dies nicht leiden und dann in Seine Herrlichkeit eingehen?” Dennoch begriffen sie es noch nicht. Sie wanderten den ganzen Tag mit Dir und erkannten Dich immer noch nicht.
Doch als die Abendzeit kam, nötigten sie Dich hereinzukommen. Als sie die Herberge betreten und die Tür verschlossen hatten, tatst Du etwas, was Du vor Deiner Kreuzigung getan hattest, und da erkannten sie, dass es der auferstandene Christus war. In wenigen Augenblicken warst Du verschwunden. Sie aber liefen zurück und berichteten den Jüngern: „Der Herr ist wirklich auferstanden.”
Gott, unser Vater, ich glaube, dass Du immer noch lebst. Ich weiß es. DU hast es uns so oft bewiesen. Würdest Du es noch einmal für uns tun, Herr? Wenn wir Gnade vor Deinem Angesicht gefunden haben, dann laß es noch einmal geschehen. Ich bin Dein Knecht, und diese hier sind Deine Knechte. Herr, alles, was ich gesagt habe, würde nichts ausrichten; ein einziges Wort von Dir würde mehr bedeuten als das, was ich an diesen fünf Abenden bzw. in den fünf Predigten gesagt habe. Ein einziges Wort von Dir bedeutet mehr. Willst Du nicht reden, Herr, damit die Menschen wissen, dass ich ihnen die Wahrheit gesagt habe? Gewähre es, o Gott. Ich bitte im Namen Jesu: Tue es noch einmal. Amen.
E-70 Außer einigen kenne ich euch nicht. Ich kenne den Jungen, der hier sitzt, und auch Bill Dauch, der dort sitzt. Hier sind Bruder Blair und Rodney Cox. Es ist schwierig, dort etwas zuerkennen. Auf dieser Seite sehe ich jetzt wirklich niemanden, den ich kenne.
Wie viele sind hier, die wissen, dass sie mir fremd sind? Hebt eure Hand, wenn ihr wißt, dass ich nichts über euch weiß. Hebt sie hoch, ob ihr nun auf der rechten oder auf der linken Seite sitzt.
Wie viele haben ein Anliegen oder etwas, von dem ihr wißt, dass es mir nicht bekannt sein kann? Würdet ihr bitte die Hand erheben.
Es ist für mich absolut, völlig unmöglich, etwas über euch zu wissen; es sei denn, dass es mir durch eine Offenbarung des Geistes geschenkt wird.
Ich habe euch an diesen Abenden und auch heute gesagt, dass Er nicht tot ist. ER ist hier und hat verheißen, dasselbe zu tun, und auch dass gemäß Maleachi und Lukas in den letzten Tagen eine Zeit kommen wird, in der Er unter Seinem Volk wiederum in menschlicher Gestalt erscheint und dieselben Dinge tut, dieselben Dinge offenbart - dasselbe Zeichen des Messias. Wie viele wissen das? Ihr Bibelleser wißt, dass es die Wahrheit ist. Sagt „Amen”. Ihr müßt alle Bibelleser sein.
Ich weiß, dass es den Menschen von heute fremd vorkommt; trotzdem ist es die Wahrheit. Das war der Grund, weshalb sie Jesus von Nazareth damals nicht erkannten. Sie kannten ihre Glaubenssatzung, doch Ihn kannten sie nicht. ER aber kam, wie die Bibel es sagte; nicht als Theologe oder Priester, sondern Er kam als Prophet; und die Seinen nahmen Ihn nicht auf.
E-71 Nun, Gott wird Sein Wort halten. Sollte jemand angesprochen werden, den ich kenne, dann möchte ich mich jemand anders zuwenden. Ich möchte jemanden, den ich nicht kenne. Bitte betet.
Seht, damals kam eine Frau, die eine Schwäche hatte. Sie hatte ihr Geld an Ärzte ausgegeben, aber sie konnten ihr nicht helfen. Sie sprach in ihrem Herzen: „Wenn ich nur den Saum Seines Gewandes berühren kann, werde ich gesund sein.” Kennt ihr die Geschichte? Alle versuchten sie zurückzudrängen, doch sie bahnte sich einen Weg und berührte den Saum Seines Gewandes, ging zurück und setzte sich.
Hört jetzt gut zu. Nachdem sie das getan hatte, wandte Jesus sich um und fragte: „Wer hat Mich berührt?”
Da sagte der Apostel Petrus zu Ihm in etwa das: „Herr, warum fragst Du, wer Dich berührt hat? Die Leute werden denken, dass mit Dir etwas nicht stimmt, wie damals, als Du sie aufgefordert hast, Dein Fleisch zu essen und Dein Blut zu trinken. Sie glauben doch sowieso schon, dass etwas nicht in Ordnung ist. Und dann sagst Du noch: 'Wer hat Mich berührt?'! Die ganze Volksmenge drängt und stößt Dich doch!”
ER antwortete: „Das stimmt. Doch ich habe gespürt, dass Kraft von Mir ausgegangen ist.” Das war eine andere Art von Berührung. Jeder weiß, dass Kraft dasselbe ist wie Stärke. „ICH wurde schwach; Kraft ist von Mir ausgegangen.”
ER blickte über die Versammlung, bis Er die Frau fand, und sagte ihr von ihrem Blutfluß. Sie spürte ja in ihrem Leibe, dass der Blutfluß aufgehört hatte. Stimmt das? ER sprach: „Dein Glaube hat dich gerettet.”
Das griechische Wort an dieser Stelle („sozo”) bedeutet beides: die physische oder die geistliche Rettung. Dafür steht das gleiche Wort: es heißt einfach „gerettet” - ER ist euer Retter.
E-72 Wenn Er das gestern war und so handelte, um zu beweisen, dass Er. der verheißene Messias, sich unter den Menschen befand, und wenn Er sich gemäß der Verheißung der Bibel zu erkennen gab, dann wird Er jetzt dasselbe tun. Müßte Er denn nicht dasselbe tun?
(Hebr. 4:15)
Ihr fragt: „Hat Er damit auch die Heilung der Kranken gemeint?” Natürlich! In der Bibel, aus der ich vorhin gelesen habe, und zwar im Hebräerbrief, steht, dass Jesus Christus jetzt unser Hoherpriester ist, der Mitgefühl mit unseren Schwachheiten hat. Wie viele wissen, dass es wahr ist? Die Bibel sagt das. ER ist jetzt Hoherpriester, der Mitgefühl mit unseren Schwachheiten hat. Wenn Er derselbe Hohepriester ist, der Er damals war, wie wird Er jetzt handeln? Wenn Er derselbe Hohepriester ist, dann muss Er genauso handeln wie damals. Nun, du könntest....
Nicht ich bin euer Hoherpriester. Ihr könnt mich berühren, doch es wäre nur so, als berührtet ihr euren Mann, euren Bruder oder irgendeinen anderen Menschen.
E-73 Doch sofern euer Glaube Ihn berührt, werdet ihr sehen, was geschieht.
Wenn ich der Knecht Gottes bin und euch die Wahrheit gesagt habe, wird Gott bestätigen, dass es die Wahrheit ist. Das wäre der Beweis, dass Jesus Christus heute Abend lebt und hier ist. Stimmt das?
Habt Glauben. Jetzt werde ich mich zunächst der einen Seite zuwenden. Habt ihr Glauben? Ich muss am Mikrophon bleiben, sonst hören sie mich nicht.
Möge jemand zu Gott aufschauen und sagen: „O Gott, dieser Mann kennt mich nicht: er weiß nichts von mir. Ich bin ihm völlig fremd. Doch möge mein Glaube Dich berühren, Herr. DU weißt, was ich benötige, Herr. DU weißt alles über mich. DU weißt genauso, wer ich bin, wie Du wußtest, wer Petrus war, wie Du Nathanael kanntest und wie Du wußtest, dass die Frau am Blutfluß litt. Dieser Mann hat mir gesagt, dass Du gestern, heute und in Ewigkeit derselbe bist. Herr, möge mein Glaube Dich jetzt berühren.”
Wie viele von euch werden Ihm von ganzem Herzen glauben, wenn Er darauf antwortet und unfehlbar beweist, dass Er hier ist - wenn Er es nur an ein, zwei oder drei Menschen zu einem Zeugnis tut? Gott segne euch!
E-74 O Gott - Vater, dies liegt völlig außerhalb menschlicher Fähigkeiten; es muss ein übernatürliches Ereignis sein. Ich bete, dass Du mir jetzt hilfst, Herr. Ich bin in Deinen Händen. Tue mit mir, was Du für richtig hältst. Im Namen Jesus. Amen.
Seid nicht nervös, sagt einfach demütig und in Ehrfurcht: „Herr. ich werde Dir dienen. Wenn ich Dein Gewand berühren kann, so antworte mir durch diesen Mann. Das wird der Beweis für mich sein, dass er die Wahrheit gesagt hat.” Stimmt das?
Wie viele haben die Aufnahme von dem Licht gesehen? Sie ist im ganzen Land, überall. Die Wissenschaft hat sich damit befaßt und es in jeder Hinsicht geprüft. Jetzt ist Er hier - derselbe, der zu mir über Heirat und Scheidung sprach; derselbe, der auf den Berg herabkam, als die Hügel erschüttert wurden; derselbe, der im Jahre 1933 dort am Fluß war; derselbe, gestern, heute und in Ewigkeit. ER ist derselbe.
E-75 Dort ist eine Frau, die sich dessen bewußt ist, dass jetzt etwas geschieht. Das Licht ist genau über ihr. Sie sitzt hier. Sie trägt eine grüne Strickjacke. Ich kenne die Frau nicht. Ich nehme an, dass wir einander fremd sind. Das stimmt. Du benötigst etwas. Glaubst du, dass Gott mir offenbaren kann, worin deine Schwierigkeit besteht? Wenn Er es tut, wirst du wissen, dass es eine übernatürliche Kraft sein muss, denn ich kenne dich nicht. Es muss auf übernatürliche Weise kommen.
Es kommt auf deine Einstellung dem gegenüber an. Du kannst dich auf die Seite der Priester stellen und es als vom Teufel bezeichnen; du kannst dich auch auf die Seite der Gläubigen stellen und es als von Gott kommend bezeichnen. In welcher Weise du es glaubst, von dort aus wird deine Belohnung kommen.
Wenn Gott mir deine Not offenbart, wirst du Ihn dann als denjenigen annehmen, der dein Leid wiedergutmacht? Ich kenne dein Anliegen nicht, aber ich weiß, und auch du bist dir dessen bewußt, dass etwas vor sich geht.
Laß mich dir sagen, was du empfindest, dann wirst du es erkennen. Es ist ein wirklich angenehmes, liebliches Gefühl. Ich schaue direkt auf dieses Licht, dieses bernsteinfarbene Licht, das über dieser Frau ist.
Die Frau leidet an einer Magenkrankheit. Sie hat ein Gewächs in ihrem Magen. Sie ist nicht von hier; du kommst aus Wisconsin. Stimmt das? Gewiß. Du bist Jetzt geheilt. Dein Glaube hat dich gesund gemacht.
Sagt mir, wen diese Frau berührt hat. Ich bin etwa fünfundzwanzig Meter von ihr entfernt. Sie hat Jesus Christus, den Hohenpriester, berührt. Glaubt ihr das?
E-76 Ich schaue auf eine Frau, mit der ich gesprochen habe. Ich sehe diese Frau. Sie betet sehr für einen Mann. Sie sagte mir, dass sie einen Mann mitgebracht hat, doch sonst hat sie mir nichts über ihn gesagt.
Ihr Name ist Mrs. Waldrop. Sie kommt aus Phoenix. Sie ist von den Toten auferweckt worden. Der Arzt kam mit der Röntgenaufnahme und zeigte den Krebs im Herzen. Sie starb in der Gebetsreihe. Wie lange liegt das zurück, Mrs. Waldrop? Achtzehn Jahre; und dort sitzt sie heute Abend als ein lebendiges Zeugnis. Ihr Arzt kam zur Versammlung, brachte die Aufnahme mit und sagte: „Wie kann die Frau leben?” Doch dort ist sie und hat keine Spur mehr davon.
Sie hat jemand mitgebracht und betet für ihn. Er hat Diabetes und ist todkrank. Das wußte ich. Doch du betest und weißt, dass ich nicht wissen kann, wer der Mann ist, Mrs. Waldrop.
Er kommt aus Missouri und sein Name ist Mr. Cooper. Das stimmt. Glaubst du jetzt? Sie können nach Hause zurückkehren, denn Sie sind gesund, mein Herr. Es liegt an Ihnen, ob Sie glauben.
E-77 Hier ist eine Frau, die an Asthma leidet. Es sind Komplikationen aufgetreten. Sie ist nicht von hier. Sie sitzt dort in der Zuhörerschaft; ich hoffe, sie begreift, dass sie gemeint ist. Sie ist nicht von hier, sondern aus Georgia. Miss McKenny, glaubst du von ganzem Herzen, dass Gott dich heilt? Stehe bitte auf, wenn du mir fremd bist und das alles stimmt. Jesus Christus heilt dich. Glaubst du es?
Hinter mir sitzt ein Mann, der die Verbindung mit Gott hat. Er hat ein Anliegen: das ist sein Kind, das ein Herzleiden hat. Der Arzt sagte, dass es ein Geräusch im Herzen hat. Der Name des Mannes ist Mr. Cox. Stehe auf, Mr. Cox. ER sagte auch Sara, die sich hinter Ihm befand, was sie dachte.
Auf der anderen Seite des Ganges, ein wenig weiter hinten, befindet sich ein Mann, der nicht von hier, sondern aus New Mexico ist. Ich habe ihn nie in meinem Leben gesehen. Ich sehe ihn jetzt vor mir, obwohl er sich hinter mir befindet. Er kommt aus New Mexico. Der Mann hat eine Tochter, um die er besorgt ist. Das Mädchen hat etwas in ihrem Mund. Mit dem Gaumen ist etwas nicht in Ordnung. Der Name des Mannes ist Mr. West. Würdest du dich bitte erheben. Ich bin ihm völlig fremd, doch Gott der Herr wird sein Kind heilen.
E-78 Glaubst du jetzt von ganzem Herzen?
Wie viele von euch glauben jetzt von ganzem Herzen? Ist Jesus nicht derselbe, gestern, heute und in Ewigkeit? Nehmt ihr Ihn jetzt als euren Retter an? Erhebt eure Hände. Glaubt ihr, dass Er euer Heiler ist?
Hier befindet sich eine Person, die wohl gelähmt ist. Sie liegt auf einer Tragbahre. Kannst du mich durch das Mikrophon hören? Ich kenne dich nicht; du bist lediglich eine Frau, die dort liegt. Wenn ich dich heilen könnte, würde ich es tun. Doch ich kann nicht heilen.
[Jemand schreit. - Verf.] Es ist nur ein Mann, er freut sich nur, sein Kind ist geheilt.
Ich kenne dich nicht. Du bist eine Frau, ich ein Mann. Dies ist das erste Mal in unserem Leben, dass wir uns begegnen. Du bist tatsächlich zum ersten Mal hier und wurdest vorhin erst gebracht. Du bist von weit her gekommen. Der Todesschatten ist über dir. Du hast Krebs. Es ist keine Lähmung, sondern Krebs. Die Ärzte können nichts mehr für dich tun. Das stimmt. Du bist sicher, dass du sterben musst. Die Ärzte können nichts mehr für dich tun.
Damals befanden sich vier Aussätzige am Stadttor von Samaria. Diese Aussätzigen sagten zueinander: „Wozu sollen wir hier bleiben, bis wir sterben, denn alle verhungern, und sie essen sogar ihre eigenen Kinder?” Sie sprachen: „Wir wollen in das feindliche Lager der Syrer gehen. Wenn sie uns töten, nun, dann sterben wir eben. Lassen sie uns aber am Leben, so bleiben wir leben.” Sie riskierten es und retteten durch ihren Glauben nicht nur sich selbst, sondern auch alle anderen.
So wirst du sterben; du kannst nicht leben. Doch du wirst nicht gebeten, in das feindliche Lager zu gehen, sondern bist eingeladen, in das Haus des Vaters zu kommen.
E-79 Du stirbst an Krebs; es sei denn, Gott tut etwas, sonst kannst du nicht weiter leben. Du bist nicht aus dieser Stadt und der Umgebung. Du kommst von weit her, nämlich aus der Stadt Milwaukie. Das stimmt.
Glaubst du? Nimmst du Gott jetzt als deinen Heiler an? Wenn du es tust, schaue nicht darauf, wie schwach du bist, wie bettlägerig du bist. Ich glaube, an deiner Stelle würde ich im Namen Jesu Christi aufstehen, die Tragbahre nehmen, nach Hause gehen und zur Ehre Gottes leben. Glaubst du, dass ich Gottes Prophet bin? Dann stehe auf und gehe nach Hause. Sei gesund! Fürchte dich nicht, erhebe dich von der Tragbahre. Gott wird dich heilen.
Jemand sei ihr behilflich, damit sie sich erheben und die Kraft in sie hineinkommen kann. Glaubt ihr Gott? Laßt sie ein wenig Kraft bekommen; sie wird gesund. So ist es recht, Schwester. Dort steht sie im Namen des Herrn Jesus Christus. Laßt uns aufstehen und Gott den Preis darbringen. ER ist derselbe, gestern, heute und in Ewigkeit. Der Herr Jesus segne euch.

For it is written, "All things are possible to them that believe." As we cry, as the man who had the epileptic child, "Lord, I believe! Help Thou my unbelief." [Mark 9:23-24]

E-2 We thank Thee for Thy great power, Thy great revelation of Thyself to us in this last days. It makes our heart most happy and joyful, to know that we have come in contact with the living God; Who vindicates it right back in physical, material evidences, as He did in the days gone by, and as He has promised for this day. We're so grateful to Thee, our God. This dark day where no one seems to know which a way to go, we're so glad that we found the safety zone, the retreat.

E-3 Now bless us tonight, Lord, as we speak of Thy Word. And the promises that's given to us, may we nurture them in our hearts, cherish them with reverence, and obey them with real godly discipline. For we ask it in Jesus' Name. Amen.

E-4 [Someone speaks to Brother Branham--Ed.] A love offering? They shouldn't--they shouldn't a-done that. Who did that? You guilty? I was getting on the manager. He said that he took a love offering for me. He shouldn't have done that. I appreciate it, God knows that, but I--I never come for that. Thank you. May the Lord bless you. I'll do everything I can. I'll put it right in foreign missions, so I'll know it'll go for the Kingdom of God. And if the Lord willing, I'll take it, myself, over to the lands, to bring this same Gospel that you been setting, listening to this week, then I know it'll be done in the way that you've believed It. The Lord help me to do it.

E-5 I am very grateful for the great attendance this week, and for all you people that's hooked up tonight again with the--the wires of the telephone. And we're grateful to each and every one of you.

E-6 Billy said to me this morning, he said, "Daddy, if you would have come with me this morning, early, right after daylight, and stand out here around in these places and watch mothers feeding their babies in the car, them poor people setting in that rain, waiting for the doors to open!" You see what a hypocrite I'd be if I told you anything but the Truth? I would really be a foul person. Sometimes I have to hurt, but it's not because that I want to, it's because... It's not me that's hurting. It's Truth that hurts. And I--I... But I believe that's the reason you come, because I'm deadly sincere with you, and do all that I can to help you. The Lord help each and every one of you.

E-7 And now I want to thank the people for their fine co-operation, the people of the city here, also, who gave us, let us have the renting of this schoolhouse, this auditorium and the gym. And I want to thank the officials if you're here. And also I want to thank Houston Colvin, which is the custodian here, for his fine co-operation in helping us to get this and being with us each night.

E-8 We thank the Jeffersonville police force for coming up here and watching, with a real cheap cost. I think about two dollars a hour, that the police were put up here on special duty, to park the cars, to see that there was no... nothing happened, and everything was all right. We're grateful to the people for that. And to the--the, also, the engineer here on the--the board, I've noticed him. And all that's affiliated with this, we are certainly grateful to you.

E-9 I thank each and every one of you for the gifts. Billy just brought me, this afternoon, a--a gift, several of them, and boxes, candy, and so forth. And one of them was the--the Beatitudes, with a picture of Christ worked in it--it, the Sermon on the Mount. And it certainly was beautiful. I certainly thank you. And so many things, I don't know how to thank you for it. And then, also, for your--your sponsoring, financing the meeting, we certainly do appreciate it, with all of our heart. The Lord bless each one of you, richly.

E-10 Billy said, there was many people, you had been asking for private interviews during the time. And many asked and had little babies to be dedicated. Oh, how I want to do that!
But, you see, when I come this time, it's so urgent. I have to stay right, all the time, in study, this Word and prayer, on account of bringing these Messages. See, they're not... They're--they're extraordinary to us, because it's finding the will of God and then speaking the things. And all that has to meet together, and asking God just which one to open up.

E-11 Now, the Lord willing, we'll be back again soon, as soon as we can find a day. I made a--a motion, or--or said something about Easter. I better check that, because I think I've got a schedule in California along about that time. So that may be wrong. However, when we return again to the tabernacle, we'll send you a card, and the church, and--and give you the--the date and time. Then I'll, maybe at that time, again...

E-12 I haven't put any time to praying for the sick. We haven't had one service that we brought the people up and prayed for them. We been sending them out. And our brethren here has been preaching, Brother Lee Vayle and Brother... These other brothers has been preaching, and praying for the sick, and doing the water baptism, baptizing, rather, and letting me stay alone with the Word. We thank these men. They done a gallant job.

E-13 There is so many friends here I'd like to meet. I look down and see John and Earl. And there is Doctor Lee Vayle, one of the managers of the campaign. Brother Roy Borders. Them man, I haven't even got... I haven't even no more than shook their hand. I haven't had a chance to. I think of my friends from Kentucky, and around in here, and minister friends, how I would like to shake their hands! Brother Blair, I noticed him here the other day. And many of those man that I--I love, and they been to several meetings, and I've never even as much as shook their hand. I--I'm trying... It isn't because I don't want to do that; it's because I haven't the time to do it, and I just a hurry.

E-14 Dedicating the babies, sure. My own son, my little grandson was supposed to be dedicated at this meeting. I haven't had time to do it; little David. I'm grandpa, twice now. So, Mr. May, if he's here tonight, who give me that cane, look like I'm going to have to use it pretty soon.

E-15 So, and I told Billy, I said, "The Bible did say multiply and replenish the earth, but the whole burden wasn't given to you." And these grandsons are appearing fast.
And so, remember, my daughter-in-law was barren, to begin with. She could not have no children. And one day, leaving a meeting, the Lord spoke to me and said, "Loyce, you will bare a son. The Lord has blessed you. Your female trouble is gone." Little Paul was born, nine months later. [Genesis 1:28]

E-16 Two months before this baby come on the scene, I was setting, eating breakfast one morning, at the table, and Loyce and Billy was setting across the table from me. And I seen Loyce feeding a little baby with a pink... or a blue blanket wrapped around it. And Billy was setting in the corner, feeding little Paul. I said, "Billy, I just saw a vision. Loyce was feeding a baby wrapped in a blue blanket."
He said, "There goes my hunting trip. That's just nine months from now."
Eleven months later, little David was born. And I haven't been able to dedicate him to the Lord yet, and will not until we return again. So you see what it is.

E-17 How I love people and their fellowship! But our brethren has been praying for the sick, and I know it's a success. Each night we prayed for the sick, one laying their hands on the other, all of us together, which that way it catches the whole scope. But maybe, if God willing... I'll mark it on the card, if we send it. Coming back, I'd like to dedicate about two or three days, again, just to praying for the sick and doing what we can in that manner. Now, and I thank the people for their help, again.

E-18 Now I just want to comment, just a moment, on the--on the morning's Message. There's no doubt, I didn't get completely through with it, but I think you understand. And I'm sure you didn't... You'll never know what that was for me to do.

E-19 Now, it seems very simple to you. But, you, you see what you're doing? You are taking the place of God, to pronounce Something. And before I would do that, it had to come an answer from God. And He had to come down, and He visibly showed Himself, and gave the Revelation. Therefore, see, this is to the Church. And remember, I said, "These, this what I said, was to the Church only."

E-20 And so that you might have confidence and know, that was the same God that said to me up there where there was no squirrel. "Speak, and say where they'll be." And three straight times it happened. Now, if He can by that same word create something that isn't there, how much more will This hold fast at the Day of Judgment! See? People were there to see these things, and know. As Paul said, in the days gone by. There's man with him, who--who felt the earth shake; and didn't hear the voice, but they--they seen the--the Pillar of Fire. [Acts 22:9]

E-21 It done me good, though, after it was over; to see husbands and wives, that I know is genuine Christians, hugging one another and weeping.

E-22 And listen, friends, God confirms His Word with signs and vindications, to prove that It's right, the spoken Word. Now remember, that Light that was in that Cloud, that gave the Revelation. I was...
My little girl was telling me, Sarah here, that when they... That school there in Arizona was looking up there on a cloudless sky, and seeing this Cloud mysteriously in that mountain, going up-and-down, with an amber Fire burning in It. The teacher dismissed the classes and the school, and brought them out front, and said, "Did you ever see anything like that? Look the way that's there."
Remember, that's that same amber Light that's on the rock. So it's the same God, same Revelation, said, "Tell them to do this." Is what I told you this morning, so there It is.

E-23 If it happens to be that my good friend, Brother Roy Roberson, is listening in at Tucson. Roy, you remember, the other day, the vision you seen when we were out standing upon the mountain? You come up to me, and that Cloud was over the top? Come walking down, you know what He told you; and I told you at that house, the other day? That's it, Roy. Don't worry no more, son. It's over.

E-24 You just don't know what that means! It's grace. He loves you. And you love Him, humbly serve Him and worship Him the rest of your days. Be happy, go ahead and live as you are. If you're happy, continue that way. Don't never do anything wrong again, like that. Just go ahead. It's God's grace.

E-25 Now I want to pray again before we enter into the Word. How many will pray for me? I'm just going from meeting to meeting. Will you pray?
You know, I'd like to sing you a little song, all of us together, before we go to the Word. Just to... so that we'd know God... Just a little dedication. Did you ever hear this little song, He Careth For You? "Through sunshine and sorrow, He careth for you."

E-26 The little lady is coming up to the piano. Say, I want to thank this little lady, too. I didn't even know who she was. It's one of the deacon's daughters here. I certainly... Brother Wheeler's little girl. She is growed up now. She was a little bitty thing that set on my knee, not long ago, and now she's a young woman. So I certainly thank her that she's used her talent in music, and now she plays very sweetly. Would you give us the chord, sister? All of us together now.

E-27 Dear Gracious God, with this little note here of a few things to say to the people, and back again to refer back to this morning, for that's what the people come to hear. I pray, God, that You'll let the people see that God loves and cares. And it was not me that give That, Lord, it was vindicated that it was the Truth. So I pray, Dear God, that Your love will always remain among the people. Tonight, to have to separate after this meeting and go to our different homes, it--it kind of pulls us, some, deep, Lord. I pray that You'll bless these people.

E-28 Now as we approach the Word, in prayer, and approach the written Word, we ask that You will take this written Word and make It alive to us tonight. And when we leave this building tonight to separate to go to our different homes, may we say like those who came from Emmaus, that had walked with Him all day and still didn't know Him; but when He got them inside the room that night, and the doors all shut, He did something just like He did before His crucifixion. By that, they knowed He had risen again.Do it again tonight, Lord. Grant it, while the doors are shut, and Your little group here is setting, waiting. And, Father, when we go to our homes, we'll say like they did, "Did not our hearts burn within us as He talked to us along the way!" We commit ourselves, and all, in Your hands, Lord. Do with us as You see fit. In Jesus' Name. Amen. [Luke 24:32]

E-29 Now let's get right into the service now, quickly. Turning now with me, if you will, to the Book of Hebrews, and another revelation on the Message. We'll speak for just a few moments tonight, the Lord willing. And then while reading the first three verses of Hebrews 7:1 to 3, and then commenting on this. And we don't know what the Lord will do; we do not know. The only thing we do is just believe, watch, pray. That right? And believe that "He'll make everything work together for good to them that loves Him," because He promised to. [Romans 8:28]
For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;Let's read a little farther.Without father, without mother, without descent,... neither beginning of days, or end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually. [Hebrews 7:1-3]

E-30 Think of this great Person, of how great this Man must be! And now, the question is, "Who is this Man?" Theologians has had different ideas. But since the opening of the Seven Seals, the mysterious Book that's been mysterious to us... According to Revelations 10:1 to 7, all the mysteries that's wrote in this Book, that's been hid down through the age of the reformers, is supposed to be brought out into view by the angel of the last church age. How many knows that's right? [Congregation says, "Amen."--Ed.] That's right, supposed to be brought. All the mysteries of the mysterious Book is to be revealed to the Laodicea messenger of that age. [Revelation 10:1-7]

E-31 Seeing there is much dispute about this Person and this subject, I think it behooves us to break into it, to find out Who this is. Now, there is several schools of thought on Him.One of them schools are, claims, "He's just a myth. He wasn't actually a person."And the others says, that, "It was a priesthood. That was the Melchisedec priesthood." That's the most likely one, that hold better to that side than they do to the other, is because they say it was a priesthood.It can't be that, for in the 4th verse It says He was a Person, a "Man." So, in order to be a Person, He has to be a personality, a "Man." Not a order; but a Person! So He was not just a priesthood order, neither was He a myth. He was a Person. [Hebrews 7:1, 17]

E-32 And the Person is Eternal. If you notice, "He had no father. He had no mother. He had no time He ever began. And He had no time He ever ended." And ever Who it was is still alive tonight, because the Bible said here, that, "He had neither father, nor mother, beginning of days, or ending of life." So It would have to be an Eternal Person. Is that right? [Congregation says, "Amen."--Ed.] An Eternal Person! So it could only be one Person, that's God, 'cause He's the only One that's Eternal. God! [Hebrews 7:3]

E-33 Now, in First Timothy 6:15 and 16, if you'd like to read that sometime, I'd like for you to read it.
Now, the thing that I contend is, that, He was God, because He's the only Person that can be immortal. And now, God changing Himself into Person; that's what He was, "No father, no mother, no beginning of life, no ending of days." [I Timothy 6:15-16]

E-34 Now we find in the Scripture that many people teaches that, "three personalities in the Godhead." So, you cannot have a personality without being a person. It takes a person to make a personality.
A Baptist minister, a few weeks ago, come up, and to my house, and said, "I'd like to straighten you out on the Godhead sometime when you got time." Called me up, rather.

E-35 I said, "I got time right now, 'cause I want to be straight, and we lay aside everything else, to do it."
And he come up, he said, "Brother Branham, you teach that there is just one God."
I said, "Yes, sir."
He said, "Well," he said, "I believe there is one God, but one God in three Persons."
I said, "Sirs, repeat that again."
He said, "One God, in three Persons." [John 10:30]

E-36 I said, "Where did you go to school at?" See? And he told me a--a Bible college. I said, "I could believe that. You cannot be a person without being a personality. And if you're a personality, you are one personality to yourself. You're a separate, individual being."
And he said, "Well, the theologians can't even explain that."
I said, "It's by revelation."
And he said, "I can't accept revelation." [Matthew 16:17]

E-37 I said, "Then there's no way for God to ever get to you, because, 'It's hid from the eyes of the wise and prudent, and revealed to babes,' revealed, revelation, 'revealed to babes such as will accept it, learn.'" And I said, "There'd be no way for God to get to you; you close yourself off from Him."The whole Bible is the revelation of God. The whole Church is built upon the revelation of God. There is no other way to know God, only by revelation. "To whom the Son will reveal Him." Revelation; everything is revelation. So, to acce-... Not to accept the revelation, then you're just a cold theologian, and there is no hope for you. [Matthew 11:25], [Luke 10:21], [Matthew 11:25], [Galatians 1:12]

E-38 Now, now, we find out that this Person "had no father, no mother, no beginning of days or ending of life." It was God, en morphe.
Now, the world, the word comes, the Greek word, means, "change," was used. Changing Himself, en morphe, from one person to... One person; the Greek word there, en morphe, means... It was taken from the stage act, that one person is changing his mask, to make him some other character. [Hebrews 7:3]

E-39 Like in--in school, just recently, I believe, Rebekah, just before she graduated, they had one of Shakespeare's play. And one young man had to change his clothes several times, because he played two or three different parts; but, the same person. He come out, one time, he was the villain; and when he come out next time, he was another character. And now the Greek word, en morphe, mean that he "changed his mask."

E-40 And that's what God did. It's the same God all the time. God in the form of the Father, the--the Spirit, the Pillar of Fire. The same God was made flesh and dwelt among us, en morphe, brought out so He could be seen. And now that same God is the Holy Ghost. Father, Son, Holy... not three Gods; three offices, three acts of the one God. [John 1:14]

E-41 The Bible said, "There is one God," not three. But that's how that they couldn't... You can't get this straightened out and have three Gods. You would never sell a Jew that. I'll tell you that. One who knows better, he knows there's only one God. [Ephesians 4:6], [John 10:30]

E-42 Notice, like the sculpture, he hides, with a--a mask over it. That's what God has done to this age. It's been hid. All these things has been hid, and is supposed to be revealed in this age. Now, the Bible says they will be revealed in the latter times. It's like a sculptor keeping his--his piece of work all covered over until the time he takes the mask off of it and there it is.
And that's what the Bible has been. It has been a work of God that's been covered up. And It's been hid since the foundation of the world, and Its sevenfold mystery. And God promised in this day, at the age of this Laodicean church, He would take the mask off the whole thing and we could see It. What a glorious thing! [Revelation 10:1-7]

E-43 God, en morphe, masked in the Pillar of Fire. God, en morphe, in a Man called Jesus. God, en morphe, in His Church. God above us, God with us, God in us; the condescending of God.Up There, holy, no one could touch Him, He settled upon the mountain; and even if a animal touched the mountain, had to die.And then God come down and changed His tent, and come down and lived with us, become one of us." And we held Him," the Bible said. First Timothy 3:16, "Without controversy great is the mystery of godliness; for God was manifested in the flesh, handled with hands." God eat meat. God drank water. God slept. God cried. He was one of us. Beautiful, typed in the Bible!That was God above us; God with us; now it's God in us, the Holy Spirit. Not the third Person; the same Person! [I Timothy 3:16], [Exodus 19:12-13]

E-44 God came down and become flesh, and died the death, in Christ; so that He could clean the Church, in order to get into it, for fellowship. God loves fellowship. That's what He made the man at the first time for, was for fellowship; God dwells alone, with Cherubims.

E-45 And notice now, He made man, and man fell. So He came down and redeemed man, because God loves to be worshipped. The very word god means "object of worship."And this that comes among us, as a Pillar of Fire, as something that changes our hearts, that is the same God that said, "Let there be light," and there was light. He's the same yesterday, today, and forever. [Genesis 1:3]

E-46 Now, in the beginning God dwelled alone, with His attributes, as I spoke of this morning. That's His thoughts. There was nothing, just God alone, but He had thoughts.
Just like a great architect can set down, in his mind, and draw out what he thinks it's he's going to--to build. Create, now, he cannot create. He can take something that's been created and make it in a different form; 'cause God is the only way... only One can create. But he gets in his mind what he's going to do, and that's his thoughts, that's his desires. Now it's a thought, and then he speaks it, and it's a word then. And a--a word is...

E-47 A thought, when it's expressed, it's a word. A thought expressed is a word, but it has to be a thought first. So, it's God's attributes; then it becomes a thought, then a word.

E-48 Notice. Those who have, tonight, Eternal Life, was with Him and in Him, in His thinking, before there ever was an Angel, star, Cherubim, or anything else. That's Eternal. And if you have Eternal Life, you always was. Not your being here, but the shape and form that the infinite God...

E-49 And if He isn't infinite, He isn't God. God has to be infinite. We are finite; He is infinite. And He was omnipresent, omniscient, and omnipotent. If He isn't, then He can't be God. Knows all things, all places, because of His omnipresent. Omniscient makes Him omnipresent. He is a Being; He's not like the wind. He is a Being; He dwells in a house. But being omniscient, knowing all things, makes Him omnipresent, because He knows everything that's going on.
There can't be a flea bat its eyes but what He knowed it. And He knowed it before there was a world, how many time it'd bat its eyes, and how much tallow it had in it, before there ever was a world. That is infinite. We can't comprehend it in our minds, but that's God. God, infinite!

E-50 And remember, you, your eyes, your statue, whatever you was, you were in His thinking at the beginning. And the only thing that you are is the expression, word. After He thought it, He spoke it, and here you are. If it isn't, if you wasn't in His thinking, there is no way at all for you ever be there, for He is the One that gives Eternal Life.

E-51 You remember how we read the Scriptures? "Not him that willeth, or him that runneth, but God!" And that His predestination might stand true, He could choose, before any time, who. God is sovereign in His choosing. Did you know that? God is sovereign.Who was back there to tell Him a better way to make the world? Who would dare to tell Him He was running His business wrong?Even the very--the very Word, Itself, very sovereign. Even the revelation is sovereign. "He reveals to whom He will reveal." The very revelation, itself, is sovereign in God. That's how people pound at things, and jump at things, and hit at things, not knowing what they're doing. God is sovereign in His works. [Romans 9:16]

E-52 Now we find Him at the beginning, His attributes. And, now, you were with Him then. Then is when the Book of Life comes into view.Now, we read over here in Revelations the 13th chapter, the 8th verse, that, "The beast that comes upon the earth," in these last days, "will deceive all those people on the earth whose names were not written in the Lamb's Book of Life before the foundation of the world." [Revelation 13:8]

E-53 Think of it! Before Jesus was ever born, four thousand years before He came on earth, and several thousand years before you come on earth; Jesus, in God's mind, died for the sins of the world, and the Book of Life was made, and your name was put on that Book of Life before the foundation of the world. That's the Bible Truth. See, your name was ordained of God and placed on the Book of Life before the foundation of the world.

E-54 You were there in His attributes. You don't remember it, no, because you're just a part of His Life. You are a part of God when you become a son or a daughter of God.
Just as you are a part of your earthly father! That's right. You are. The male carries the hemoglobin, the blood. And when that has gone in--in the egg, then you become a part of your father; and your mother is a part of your father, also; so you're all a part of your father.
Glory! That lets the denomination out, altogether. Uh-huh. Certainly does! God, in all, the only place!

E-55 Notice now His attribute. Then the attribute was, first, God; the thought, the attribute itself, all in One, without being expressed. Then when He expressed, secondarily, He became then the Word. "And then the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us."

E-56 Saint John the 1st chapter and the 1st verse, notice, this is, "In the beginning." But, before, the Eternal! Notice, "In the beginning was the Word." When the time begin, it was Word. But before it was Word, it was attribute, a thought. Then it was expressed, "In the beginning was," the expression, "the Word."Now we're getting where Melchisedec is. That's this mysterious Person. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." "And then the Word became flesh and dwelled among us." Hold that there now, notice. [John 1:1]

E-57 His--His first being was Spirit, God, supernatural, all right, the great Eternal. Second, He begin to form Himself towards flesh, in a theophany, it's called "the Word; a body." This then is the state He was in when He met Abraham, was called Melchisedec. He was in the form of theophany. Now we'll get to that and prove it in a few minutes, the Lord willing. He was the Word.

E-58 A theophany is something that you could not see. It could be right here now, yet you cannot see it.
It's just like, well, like television. That's in another dimension. Television; people are moving right through this room now, singing; there is colors, also. But the eye is only subject to the five senses... Your whole being is only subject to five senses, rather. And you are only subject to what the sight has been limited to see. But there is another dimension that can be seen by a transformation, by television.

E-59 Now, television does not manufacture a picture. A television only channels it into a circuit, and then the television screen picks it up. But the picture is there, to begin with. Television was here when Adam was here. Television was here when Elijah set on mount Carmel. Television was here when Jesus of Nazareth walked the shores of Galilee. But you're just now discovering it. They wouldn't have believed it back there. You'd have been crazy to have said something like it. But now it's become a reality.
And so is it, that Christ is here, the Angels of God are here. And someday, in the great Millennium to come, it'll be just more real than television or anything else, because they are here.

E-60 He reveals Himself in His great form of what He claimed, as He en morphes Himself into His servants and proves Himself.

E-61 Now, here He is in the form of Spirit. And then He comes in the form of a... of en morphe. Now, He appeared to Abraham, en morphe. When Abraham was returning from the slaughter of the kings, here come Melchisedec, talked to Him. [Hebrews 7:1]

E-62 The other day in the Tucson paper, I was reading an article that where there was a--a woman driving down the road, I believe about forty, fifty miles an hour, and she hit an old man with an overcoat on. She screamed and stopped her car. It threw him up in the air. Right out in the plain desert! And she run back to find him, and he wasn't there. So what did she do? Some people behind her saw it happen, saw the old man fly up in the air, and his overcoat turning. So they run back to find out. They couldn't find the man anywhere. They called the police force. The police come out to examine the place; there was nobody there.

E-63 Well, each one of them testified, "The car chugged, hit the man. He went up in the air, and everybody saw it." Witnesses, and two or three carloads of them, they seen it happen. Come to find out, five years ago, there was an old man with an overcoat on, hit and killed on the same spot.When you leave here, you're not dead. You've got to come back, even if you're a sinner, and be judged according to the deeds done in the body. "If this earthly tabernacle is dissolved, we have one waiting." En morphe, that's the word. [II Corinthians 5:1]

E-64 Now, God, in this stage of... It's this stage of His creation, later formed into flesh, Jesus. From what? From the great beginning, Spirit, then came down to be the Word, bringing Itself out. The Word doesn't yet make Itself, it's just spoke out, en morphe, later He becomes flesh, Jesus, mortal, to taste death for all of us sinners.

E-65 When Abraham met Him, He was Melchisedec. He unfolds here what all the attributes will do in the final end, every son of Abraham. Every son of the Faith will absolutely do the same thing. But I want to watch how we have to come.

E-66 Also, we see Him revealed here in Ruth and--and Boaz, as a Kinsman Redeemer, how He had to come to be flesh.

E-67 Now we see the attribute, sons of His Spirit, have not yet entered into the Word-form body. But, a theophany; this body is subject to the Word and earnest, waiting for the earnest, change of the body.

E-68 Now, the different between Him and you, as a son. See, He was, at the beginning, the Word, an en morphe body. He came in and lived in that, in the Person of Melchisedec. Then, later, we never heard no more of Melchisedec, because He became Jesus Christ. Melchisedec was the Priest, but He became Jesus Christ. Now, you by-passed that. Because, in that form, He knowed all things, and you have never been able to know that yet.You come like Adam, like me, you became from the attribute to the flesh, to be tempted. But when this life is finished here, "If this earthly tabernacle be dissolved, we have one already waiting." That's where we go; that is the Word. Then we can look back and see what we done. Now we don't understand it. We have never become the Word; we've just become the flesh-man, not the Word. [II Corinthians 5:1]

E-69 But, and look, clearly makes it clear, you will never be the Word unless you was a thought at the beginning. That proves the predestination of God. See? You can't be the Word unless you're a thought. You had to be in the thinking, first.But, you see, in order to stand temptation, you had to by-pass the theophany. You had to come down here in flesh, to be tempted by sin. And then, if you stand, "All the Father hath given Me will come to Me, and I'll raise him up at the last days." See, you had to be first. [John 6:39]

E-70 And then, you see, He come right down, the regular line, from attribute to... Before the foundation of the world, his name is put on the Lamb's Book of Life. Then, from that, He become the Word, the theophany, that could appear, disappear. And then He become flesh and returned back again, resurrected that same body in a glorified condition.But you by-passed the theophany and become flesh-man, to be tempted by sin. And then, "If this earthly tabernacle is dissolved, we have one already waiting." We have not yet the bodies. [II Corinthians 5:1]

E-71 But, look! When this body receives the Spirit of God, the immortal Life inside of you, it throws this body in subjection to God. Hallelujah! "He that's born of God doth not commit sin; he cannot sin." Romans 8:1, "There is therefore now no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus; they walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." There you are. See, that throws your body subject.
You don't have to say, "Oh, if I could just quit drinking! If I could just..." Just get in Christ, and it's all gone, see, see, because your body is subject to the Spirit. It's no more subject to the things of the world; they're dead. They are dead; your sins are buried in baptism, and you are a new creation in Christ. And your body, becoming subject to the Spirit, try to live a right kind of life. [Romans 8:1], [I John 3:9]

E-72 Like you women claiming you got Holy Ghost, and going out here and wearing shorts and things, how could you do it? How could the Spirit of God in you ever let you do such a thing as that? It just can't be so. Certainly, it can't be. He's not a filthy spirit; He's a holy Spirit.

E-73 And then when you become subject to that Spirit, it throws your whole being subject to that Spirit. And that Spirit is nothing in the world but this Seed Word made manifest, or quickened, hallelujah, made alive. And when the Bible said, "Don't do this," that body quickly turns to It. There is no question.
And what is it? It's the earnest of the resurrection. This body will be raised up again, because it's already started. It was once subject to sin, and mire and corruption, but now it's got the earnest; it's turned Heavenly. Now, that's the earnest that you're going in the Rapture. It's the earnest.

E-74 A sick person laying, dying, nothing left but death; that's all can happen. I've seen a shadows of people, done eat up with cancer and tuberculosis; and see them persons, a little while after that, perfectly normal and strong. If there is no Divine healing, then there is no resurrection, 'cause Divine healing is the earnest of the resurrection. Amen!

E-75 You know what the earnest money is, don't you? It's the down payment. "He was wounded for our transgressions; with His stripes we're healed." Notice how wonderful! We love Him. [Isaiah 53:5]

E-76 Now, this body is subject to the Spirit. Have not yet entered into the Word form, but we are still in the flesh form, but subject to the Word. Death in the flesh will take us there.

E-77 Just the same thing, think of a little baby. You can take a woman, no matter how evil she is, when she is pregnant and fixing to be mother. Watch, before that baby is born, I don't care how cruel the woman is, she gets real kind. There is something about her sound... seems godly, to see a little mother fixing to become mother, by the baby. Why is it? That little body, now, it's not alive yet, see, the only thing it is is just flesh and muscles. That little jumping, that's just muscles jerking. But when it comes forth from the womb, God breathes the breath of life into it, and then he screams out. See, just as--as sure as there is a natural body being formed, there is a spiritual body to receive it as soon as it gets here.

E-78 Then, when a man is born again, from Heaven, he becomes a spirit babe in Christ.
And, then, when this robe of flesh is dropped, there is a natural body, theophany, a body not made with hands, neither born of a woman, that we go to.
Then that body returns back and picks up the glorified body.
That's the reason Jesus went to hell when He died, and preached to the souls that were in prison; turned back into that theophany. Oh, marvelous! Thank God! [I Peter 3:19]

E-79 Second Corinthians 5:1, "If this earthly body be dissolved, this earthly tabernacle, we have another one." See, we have by-passed that, to come straight from God, the attribute; to be flesh, to be tempted and tested by sin, like Adam did. But when testing of His Word is over, then we are taken up to this body that was prepared for us before the foundation of the world. It is the Word there that we skipped, to come right around, down here to be tempted and tested. If we'd have come through that, there'd have been no temptation; we'd a-knowed all things. That's the reason Jesus knowed all things, 'cause He was Word before He was flesh. Then we become the Word. [II Corinthians 5:1]

E-80 Here we are formed to the Word image, to be a partaker of the Word, feed on the Word, by being predestinated since the beginning; you see that little spark of Life that you had in you from the beginning, when you started your journey. Many of you can remember it. You joined this church and joined that church, you'd try this and that; nothing satisfied. That's right. But one day you just recognized It. Right.

E-81 The other night I was teaching somewhere, I think it was out in California or Arizona, about... I believe I've told the little story here, about the man setting a hen and had an eagle egg under it. And when that eagle hatched out, he was the funniest-looking bird that them chickens ever seen. But, he walked around. He was the--he was the ugly one among them, because he just couldn't understand how that hen will cluck and scratch on that manure pile and eat. He couldn't get the idea. She would say, "Come on over and feast, honey!" But, he was a eagle; he just didn't eat like that. It wasn't his food.

E-82 So she would catch grasshoppers and whatmore, you know, and call the little chickens. And all them little chickens would go along, cluck along, and eat. But the little eagle just couldn't do it. It didn't--didn't look right to him.
So one day his mammy come hunting him.

E-83 And he would hear that hen cluck. He would try his best to cluck, but he couldn't do it. He tried to cheep like a chicken, but he couldn't do it. See, he was a eagle. He, to start with, he was a eagle. He was just hatched under a hen.
That's like some church members. Every... That's about the way it is; about one out of a setting, is right.

E-84 But one day his mammy flew over, and she screamed. He recognized it. That sounded right. Why? He was a eagle, to begin with.
That's the way it is with the Gospel, or the Word, or the Power of Jesus Christ. When a man has been predestinated to Eternal Life, he hears that true ring, scream of God, nothing can keep him from It.
The church might say, "Days of miracles is past," cluck, cluck, cluck. "Stand here and eat this, and stand here and eat that."

E-85 That barnyard stuff won't do for him, anymore. He is gone! "All things are possible!" He gets off the ground.
That's why, the matter with so many Christians today, they can't get their feet off the ground.
The old mammy said, "Son, jump! You're an eagle. Come up here where I am."
He said, "Mom, I never jumped, in my life." [Matthew 19:26], [Mark 9:23]

E-86 She said, "Well, you jump! You're a eagle, to begin with. You're not a chicken." So he made his first jump and flopped his wings; didn't do too good, but he got off the ground.
That's the way we do. We accept God by faith, by the written Word. There is something in there; it's that Eternal Life. You were predestinated to it.

E-87 His grandpa and grandma were eagles. He was a eagle, all the way back. Eagle don't mix with other things. He's not a hybrid; no. He's a eagle.

E-88 Then, after you recognized the very Word of God was Eagle Food, then you left the other thing. You have then been formed into the living image of the living God. You heard from your theophany. "If this earthly body be dissolved, we have one waiting."
You say, "Is that right, Brother Branham?"
All right, let's take a couple of eagles and look at them for a few minutes. There was a name, man named Moses. Everyone knows that a prophet is called the eagle, in the Bible.

E-89 There was a prophet named Moses. And one day God called him, and wouldn't let him go over the land, and he--he died on a rock. The Angels took him away and buried him.There was another man, a eagle, didn't even have to die. He just walked across Jordan, and God sent a chariot down; and this robe of flesh he dropped, and rise and caught the everlasting prize.Eight hundred years later, eight hundred years later, on Mount Transfiguration, here stood those two man. Moses' body had been rotten for hundreds of years, but here he was in such a form till even Peter, James, and John recognized him. Amen! "If this earthly tabernacle be dissolved," if you're an attribute of God expressed here on earth, "you've got a body waiting after you leave this world." There they was, standing on Mount Transfiguration, in their theophany. For, they were prophets to whom the Word came to. [Luke 9:33], [II Kings 2:11], [II Corinthians 5:1-2]

E-90 Also let us notice another prophet, one time, by the name of Samuel. He was a great man. He had taught Israel; told them they shouldn't have a king. He said, "Have I ever said one thing to you in the Name of the Lord but what come to pass?"
They said, "No. Everything you've always said in the Name of the Lord come to pass."
He was a prophet, and he died.

E-91 About three or four years later, the king got in trouble; that was before the Blood of Jesus Christ was ever shed. He was in paradise. And a witch of Endor called for somebody to come, and console Saul. And when the witch saw him standing up, she said, "I see god raising up out of the earth." [I Samuel 28:13]

E-92 And after the man had been dead, buried, and rotted in the grave, here he was standing there in that cave, with his prophet's robes on; and was still a prophet, amen, for he said, "Why did you call me out of my rest, seeing you become a enemy to God?" Watch him prophesy. "Tomorrow night, by this time, you will be with me." He was still a prophet, though he was gone from this body.See, he had become here and was part of that Word, and he entered from the flesh life back into the body that had been prepared for him before the foundation of the world. He entered into the theophany, which was the Word. You get it? That's where all believers go when we turn from here. [I Samuel 28:15, 19]

E-93 Then, in that form, the veil then is lifted. You see, you are the Word, also, when you enter into there. As a little baby; as I said a while ago...

E-94 Now notice. Praise God for these opening Seals, is my prayer, to know these things!

E-95 Now the true revelation of Melchisedec comes into view. What? He was God, the Word, before He became flesh; God, the Word. Cause, He had to be; no one else could be immortal like Him. See, I had father and mother; you did, too. Jesus had father and mother. "But this Man had no father, or had no mother." Jesus had a time He started; this Man didn't. Jesus gave His life; this Man couldn't, because He was Life. And it's the self-same Man all the time. I hope God reveals it to you. The self-same Person, all the time.

E-96 Notice His title, "King of righteousness." Now, Hebrews 7:2, "King of righteousness, and King of peace." He is two kings. Now watch, Hebrews 7:2, "King of righteousness, also the King of peace." He is two kings there. Now since He has come in the flesh and received His body up, in Revelations 21:16, He is called, "The King of kings." He is all three of them, together. See, King God, King Theophany, King Jesus. "He is the King of kings."It's all met, just like soul, body, and spirit, all comes to make one. [Hebrews 7:2]

E-97 Also, He is the Father, which was the first; Son; and Holy Ghost, the Spirit.
"King of righteousness," the Spirit attribute; theophany, "King of--of peace," theophany; and in flesh He was "King of kings," same Person.

E-98 When the theophany, Moses seen Him, Exodus 33:2, He was a theophany. Moses wanted to see God. He had heard His voice, heard Him talk to him, seen Him in a bush there, as a big Pillar of Fire. And he said, "Who are You? I want to know Who You are." Moses said. "I'll put..." "If You'll let me see You, I would like to see Your face." [Exodus 3:2]

E-99 He said, "No man can see My face." He said, "I'll put My hand over your eyes, and I'll pass by. And you can see My back, but not My face." See? And when He did, it was the back of a Man; it was a theophany. Then the Word that come to Moses, "I AM," that was the Word. The Word came to Moses in the form of a Pillar of Fire in a burning bush, the "I AM." [Exodus 33:22-23]

E-100 As the Word from the theology... from the theophany, rather. Excuse me. He came to Abraham as a Man, under the oak tree. Now look at there. There came a Man to Abraham, three of them, and set down under an oak tree, three of them. And notice, after He talked to Abraham...

E-101 Why did He come? Abraham, being the one with the promise and the message of the coming son, and also he was God's Word-prophet that was trusting God's Word, calling anything contrary as though it wasn't. See how perfect the Word is? The Word came to the prophet. See, there was God in a theophany. And the Bible said, "The Word comes to the prophet." And here was the--the Word in the theophany.
Now you say, "Was that God?"

E-102 Abraham said it was. He said His name, was, he called Him Elohim. Now in Genesis 1, you find out, "In the beginning Elohim created the heavens and earth." In Genesis 18, we find out that--that Abraham called this Person... that set there and talked to him, and could tell him the secrets of his heart, tell him what Sarah was thinking behind Him. Abraham said, "It is Elohim." He was in a theophany form. You get it? Notice after... [Genesis 1:1]

E-103 Now we find out that He was then in the theophany form. He called Him, "Lord God, Elohim." Now, in Genesis 18, we find that that is true. [Genesis 18:11, 15]

E-104 Now notice Abraham. There was three of them together, but when Abraham met the three, he said, "My Lord."
But when Lot, down in Sodom; two of them went down there, and Lot saw two of them coming, and he said, "My lords." See, what was the matter? The first place, Lot was not a prophet, that's right, or neither was he the messenger of the hour, so he didn't have any revelation of Him. It's exactly right. Lot could call them "lords." A dozen of them, he could still said, "lords."
But no matter how many Abraham saw, It was still one Lord. There is God. This was the Melchisedec.

E-105 Notice, after the battle was over, Melchisedec served His victorious child communion; think of that, part of Himself! Now we want to see here. In type here is, in view, the communion. After the battle, He gave of Himself, because the communion is part of Christ. And after the struggle is over, after you've done got yourself whipped out, then is when you partake of Christ, become part of this Being. You get it?

E-106 Jacob wrestled all night, and wouldn't turn Him loose until He blessed him. That's right. Battled for Life! And after the battle is over, then God gives you of Himself. That is His true communion. The little bread and wafer just represents It. You shouldn't take it 'less you've wrestled it out and become part of God. [Genesis 32:26]

E-107 Remember, at this time, the communion had never been instituted, not until before the death of Jesus Christ, hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of years later.

E-108 But Melchisedec, after His child Abraham had won the victory, Melchisedec met him and gave him wine and bread; showing that after this earthly battle is over, we will meet Him in the heavens and take the communion again. It'll be the Wedding Supper. "I will not drink no more of the vine, or eat the fruit, until I eat it and drink it with you, anew, in My Father's Kingdom." Is that right? [Matthew 26:29]

E-109 Notice again, Melchisedec went to meet Abraham before he got back home. What a beautiful type here we have! Melchisedec meeting Abraham before he got back home, after the battle.We meet Jesus in the air, before we get Home. That's right. Second Thessalonians tells us that, for, "we meet Him in the air." A beautiful type of Rebekah meeting Isaac, in the field, in the cool of the day. "We meet Him in the air." Second Thessalonians tells us so. "For we which are alive and remain shall not prevent or hinder those which are asleep; for the trumpet of God shall sound; the dead in Christ shall rise first; we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them, to meet the Lord in the air." Perfect, all these types. [I Thessalonians 4:16-18]

E-110 Therefore, the theophany, if you have died and entered into that theophany, (what happens?) the theophany comes to the earth to pick up the redeemed body. And if you're here in the air, you take the body to meet the theophany, there you are, "and caught up, and go to meet the Lord in the air."

E-111 Who is this Melchisedec but God!

E-112 Now we see here plainly the complete secret of our lives in journey, and death, and where we go after we die. Also, predestination is in plain view here. Now listen as we teach this, closely.

E-113 The stages of--of the Eternal purpose He had in His secret has now been revealed. Notice, there is still three stages to perfection. Just like He redeems the world; same way He redeems His Church. He redeems the people in three stages. Now look. First is justification, like Luther preached; second, sanctification, like Wesley preached; third, baptism of the Holy Ghost. That's right. Then comes the Rapture!

E-114 Now, the world, how did He redeem the world? The first, what He did, when it sinned, He washed it off in water baptism. That's right. Then He dropped His blood upon it, from the cross, and sanctified it and called it His Own. And then what does He do? As He tore all the world out of you, and renovated the whole thing by the fiery baptism of the Holy Ghost, He also will renovate the world. And it'll be burnt over with Fire, and cleanse every germ, for millions of miles high, every thing will be cleaned off. And then there is a New Heaven and a New Earth, just like you are a new creature in Christ Jesus when the Holy Spirit takes a hold of you. See, there you are, the whole thing is just as plain as it can be. Everything is in three. [Revelation 21:1], [II Corinthians 5:17]

E-115 The natural birth is in three. What's the first thing happens to the woman having a baby? What breaks first? Water. What breaks next? Blood. What's the next process? Life. Water, blood, spirit.
What happens to the plant? Rots. What's the first thing? Stalk. What's the next? Tassel. What's the next? Shuck. Then the grain comes out of that. Just the three stages of it, till it gets to the grain. That's exactly.

E-116 God vindicates that. That's always been right. God vindicates it to be true. Show plainly, the predestinated is the only one that's considered in redemption. Did you get it? Let me say that again. The predestinated is the only one that's considered in redemption. People might be making like, think they are, but the real redemption is those that are predestinated. Because, the very word redeem means "to bring back." Is that right? The redeem is something... To redeem anything, is, "bring it back to its original place." Hallelujah! So it's only the predestinated will be brought back, because the others didn't come from There. See, "bring back!"

E-117 Being Eternal with Him, at the beginning... The Eternal Life that you had, His thought of what you was, only, He wanted you to... He wanted me to stand in the pulpit, say. He wanted you to set in the seat tonight. Then we are serving His Eternal purpose. And the one that left home, only come to the earth to serve His purpose. Is that right? All right. Then, after it's finished, it's brought back in a glorified state; it's matured and brought back again.

E-118 No wonder Paul could say, when they was building a block to chop his head off; he said, "O death, where is your sting? O grave, where is your victory? But thanks be to God Who gives us the victory!" He said, "Death, tell me where you can make me holler! Grave, tell me how you going to hold me! For, I am a possessor of Eternal Life." Amen! He recognized it. Death, hell, grave, nothing could hold him. And nothing can hurt us, got Eternal Life! He realized he was blessed with Eternal Life. [I Corinthians 15:55]

E-119 Just like a little dewdrop. If I understand, it's... I don't know too much about chemistry. But, it must be that it's the--the congealing of humidity or atmosphere. And when the night gets cold and dark, it falls from the heavens and drops upon the ground. It's fell from somewhere. But the next morning before the sun comes up, it's laying there, the little fellow, shivering. But just let the sun come up, watch it go to shining. It's happy. Why? The sun is going to call it right back to where it come from.
And that's the way with a Christian. Hallelujah! We know when we walk into the Presence of God, something in us tells us that we come from somewhere, and we're going back again by that Power that's a pulling us.

E-120 The little dewdrop, he glistens and shines and shouts, because he knows he come from up there, and that sun is going to draw him right back up again.And a man that's an attribute of God, born of God, knows, hallelujah, when he come in contact with the Son of God, he is going to be drawed up from here someday. "For if I be lifted up from the earth, I'll draw all men unto Me." Amen! [John 12:32]

E-121 Now notice, now, we see Melchisedec and why that Mary wasn't His mother. That's the reason He called her "woman," not mother. "He had no father," for He was the Father, the everlasting Father, the three in the One. "He had no mother," certainly not. He had no father, for He was the Father. As the poet said one time, speaking a great compliment unto Jesus, he said:
I AM that spoke to Moses in a burning bush of fire,
I AM the God of Abraham, the Bright and Morning Star.
I AM Alpha, Omega, the beginning from the end.
I AM the whole creation, and Jesus is the Name. (That's right.)
Oh, who do you say that I am, and whence do they say that I came,
Do you know My Father, or can you tell His Name? (Hallelujah!)

E-122 That's the Father's Name! Yeah, "I come in My Father's Name, and you received Me not." See? Sure, He's the same yesterday, today, and forever. [John 5:43], [Hebrews 13:8]

E-123 And this Melchisedec became flesh. He revealed Himself as Son of man when He come, as a Prophet. He come in three names of a Son; the Son of man, the Son of God, the Son of David.

E-124 When He was here on earth, He was a Man, to fulfill the Scripture. Moses said, "The Lord your God shall raise up a Prophet liken unto me." So He had to come as a Prophet. He didn't, never say, "I am the Son of God." He said, "I am the Son of man. Do you believe the Son of man?" Cause, that's what He had to testify of, because that's what He was.
Now He's come in another son's Name, Son of God; the unseen, the Spirit.
And when He comes again, He is Son of David, to set upon His throne. [Deuteronomy 18:18]

E-125 Now when He was here and was made flesh, He was called, "the Son of man." Now, how did He make Himself known to the world as Son of man, the Prophet?

E-126 One day I was telling a story of Peter and Andrew, his brother. They were fishermen, and their father Jonas was a great old believer. One day they said he set down on the side of the boat. He said, "Sons, you know how we've prayed when we needed fish." They was commercial fishermen. He said, "We've trusted God, Jehovah, for our living. And I'm getting old now; I can't stay with you boys much longer. And I've always, as all true believers, have looked for the time when that Messiah will come. We've had all kinds of false ones, but there is coming a real One, someday." And he said, "When this Messiah comes, I don't want you boys to be deceived. This Messiah will not be just a theologian. He will be a Prophet, for our prophet Moses, of who we follow, he said."Now, any Jew will believe his prophet. He is taught to know that. And if the prophet says anything that's so, then that's truth. But God said, "If there be one among you, spiritual, or a prophet, I the Lord will make Myself known to him. And what he says comes to pass, then hear him and fear him; but if it don't, then don't fear him at all." See? So that was the--the vindication of the prophet. [Deuteronomy 18:22]

E-127 "So Moses was truly a vindicated prophet, and he said, 'The Lord your God shall raise up, among you, out of your brethren, a Prophet like unto me. And all that won't hear him will be cut off from the people.'" He said, "Now, children, remember, that, as Hebrews, we believe God's vindicated prophets."Now listen close. Don't miss it. And he said, "When the Messiah comes, you will know Him, for He will be a Prophet-Messiah. Now, they said it's been four hundred years. We haven't had a prophet since Malachi, but he'll be!" [Deuteronomy 18:15]

E-128 One day, after his death, few years, his son Andrew was strolling along down the bank. And he heard a wild man out of the wilderness, saying, "That Messiah is standing among you now!" That big eagle that raised up over in the wilderness and flew over there, said, "The Messiah is among you right now. We don't know Him yet, but He is standing among you. I'll know Him, because I'll see a sign coming from Heaven.
"One day he said, "There, behold, is the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world!"
Away went the... went this man, to find his brother. He said, "Simon, I want you come over here; we've done found the Messiah."
"Oh, go on, Andrew! You know better than that!"
"Oh, I know. But, that, this Man is different."
"Where is He? Where'd He come from?"
"Jesus of Nazareth."
"That little, wicked city? Why, He couldn't come from a wicked, dirty place like that."
"You just come and see." [John 1:29]

E-129 Finally persuaded him to come down one day. So when he come in the front of this Messiah, Jesus standing there, speaking to the people. When he walked up in front of Him, He said, "Your name is Simon, and you are the son of Jonas." That did it. He got the keys to the Kingdom. Why? He knowed that that Man did not know him. And how did He know him, and that godly old father who had taught him how to believe the Messiah? [John 1:41-42]

E-130 There was a man standing there, by the name of Philip. Oh, he got real excited! He knowed another man, had been studying the Bible with. Away he went, around the hill, and he found him out there in his olive grove. He was kneeling down, praying. They had had lots of Bible lessons together, so he come out there. And he said, after he had got through praying, he said, "Come, see Who we found; Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph. He's the Messiah we're looking for."Now I can hear Nathanael say, "Now, Philip, you ain't went off on the deep end, are you?" [John 21:17]

E-131 "Oh, no. Nope. Now let me tell you. You know, we been studying the Bible together, and what did the prophet say the Messiah would be?"
"He would be a Prophet."
"You remember that old fisherman you bought the fish from, that didn't have enough education to sign his name, called Simon?"
"Yeah. Uh-huh."

E-132 "He come up. And you know what? This Jesus of Nazareth told him that his name was Simon, changed his name to Peter, which is 'little stone" and told him who his daddy was."
"Well," he said--he said, "I don't know. Could anything good come out of Nazareth?" [John 1:45-46]

E-133 He said, "Let's not talk about it; just come on and see." That's a good idea, "Come and see."
So here come Philip, bringing up Nathanael. And when he got walking up, Jesus probably standing, speaking, probably praying for the sick in the prayer line. And when he come up to where Jesus was, Jesus looked around at him, and said, "Behold an Israelite in whom there is not guile." [John 1:46-48]

E-134 Now, you say, "Well, it was the way he was dressed." Oh, no. All easterners dress the same. He could have been a Syrian, or been anything else; beard, garment.

E-135 He said, "Behold an Israelite in whom there is no guile," in otherwise, "a honest, sincere man."Well, that kind of deflated Nathanael. And he said, "Rabbi," which means, "teacher." "Rabbi, when did You ever know me? How did You know I was a Jew? How did You know I was honest, no guile?" [John 1:47]

E-136 He said, "Before Philip called you, when you were under the tree, I saw you." Uh! Fifteen miles away, the other side of the country, the day before.What did he say? "Rabbi, You are the Son of God. You are the King of Israel!" [John 1:48]

E-137 But there stood those priests there, self-styled, self-starched, said, "This man is Beelzebub, a fortuneteller."
Jesus said, "I'll forgive you for that."

E-138 Now, remember, they never said it out loud, but they said it in their hearts. "And He perceived their thoughts." That's right. That's what the Bible says. Call it telepathy if you want to, but He--He perceived their thoughts. [Luke 20:19]

E-139 And He said, "I forgive you for that. But someday the Holy Ghost is going to come and do this same thing," after His going; "speak a word against It, will never be forgiven in this world or the world to come." Is that right? [Congregation says, "Amen."--Ed.] Now, that were Jews.Then one day He had need to go to Samaria. But just before we do that, we found the woman, or the... [Matthew 12:32]

E-140 The man, as he went through the gate called Beautiful, that he was healed. And Jesus knowed his condition, and told him, "Take up your bed and go on home." And he did it, and got well.Then we find out, the Jews, some of them received Him. Some believed it; some didn't. Why didn't they believe it? They was not ordained to Life. They wasn't part of that attribute. [Acts 3:2]

E-141 Now remember, them were priests and great man. And Jesus... Think of those theologians and priests, man that you couldn't find a flaw in their life. Jesus said, "You are of your father the devil, and his works you do." Said, "If you'd be of God, you would believe Me. If you can't believe Me, believe the--believe the works that I do; they testify Who I am." [John 8:44]

E-142 Now, the Bible said, that, "Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever." Jesus said, "The works that I do shall he that believeth on Me do also." That right? Notice, that was the real Melchisedec now. [John 14:12]

E-143 Now notice, again, there was only three races of people.
You've heard me say I was a segregationalist. I am. All Christians are segregationalists; not segregation of color, but segregation of spirit. A man's color of his skin has nothing to do with him. He is a child of God by Birth. But a Christian, God said, "Separate Me!" "Come out from among them," and so forth. He is a segregationist, of filth, between right and wrong. [Revelation 18:1-5]

E-144 But notice, they had a segregation then, a racial segregation, which was the Samaritans.
And there is only three races of people on the earth; if we believe the Bible; that is, Ham, Shem, and Japheth's people. That's the three sons of Noah. We all sprung from there. That's right. That makes us all back from Adam, which makes us all brothers. The Bible said, "Of one blood God created all nations." We're all brothers, through the blood stream. A colored man can give a white man a blood transfusion, or vise versa. The white man can give the--the Japanese, yellow man, or the Indian, the red man, or whatmore, or a Japhenite, or whatever, he could give him a blood transfusion, 'cause we're all the same blood. The color of our skin, where we lived, had nothing to do with it.
But when we're segregated, is when we come out of the world, like He brought Israel up out of Egypt. That's when we're segregated from the things of the world. [Genesis 9:18-19]

E-145 Now, they was Ham, Shem, and Japheth's people. And if we had time to run the genealogies back, you could see the Anglo-Saxon, where he come from. Now, that was the Jew... The Samaritan, which was half Jew and Gentile, that married in with the Gentiles at Baalam's doings, and Moab. They were Samaritans. And there was Jews and Gentiles.Now, we Anglo-Saxon had nothing to do with any of it. We didn't believe any Messiah, nor nothing else. We wasn't looking for one. We were brought in afterwards.Jesus came to His Own, and His Own received Him not. And He said to His disciples, "Don't go in the way of the Gentiles, but go rather to the lost sheep of Israel." And He went only to the lost sheep of Israel. And watch, He manifested Hisself as Son of man, before the Jews. They turned It down.Now, the Samaritan, being half Jew and Gentile, they believed also, and was looking for a Messiah.We wasn't. We were heathens, with clubs on our back, worshipping idols; the Gentile. [Matthew 10:5-6], [Genesis 9:18-19]

E-146 But now one day, Saint John 4, He had need to go by Samaria, on His road down to Jericho. But was went up around Samaria. And while He was going up there, He set down on the well outside of a city called Sychar. And the well, if you've ever been there, it's a little panoramic about like this here. And there's a public spring there, of water, where they all come. And the woman come of a morning, get their pots of water, and put it on their head, and one on each hip, and walk with it just as straight as can be, never spill a drop; talk to one another. So, they would, the people would come out there.

E-147 So this was about eleven o'clock in the day. So He sent His disciples into the city, to buy some victuals, food. And while they were gone...

E-148 There was a woman which was ill-famed. We would call her, today, a redlight woman, or prostitute. She had too many husbands. So while Jesus was setting there, this woman come out about eleven o'clock. See, she couldn't come with the virgins when they come in the morning to get their wash water; she had to wait till they all... They didn't mix like they do now. She was marked. So then, she come out to get some water, so she just took the old windle, and put the hooks over the jar, and started to let it down.She heard Somebody say, "Woman, bring Me a drink." Now, remember, this is Melchisedec. This is Jesus, yesterday, the Son of man. [John 4:7]

E-149 And she looked around, and she saw a Jew. So she said, "Sir, it's not proper for a Jew to ask a Samaritan for anything. I'm a woman of Samaria, so You have spoken out of Your place. You shouldn't have asked me such a thing as that. We have no dealings with one another." [John 4:9]

E-150 He said, "But if you knew Who was talking to you, you would ask Me for a drink."She said, "How You going to draw it? The well is deep, and You have nothing to draw with." [John 4:10-11]

E-151 He said, "The water that I give is Water of Life, springing up into Eternal Life."He talked to her till He found what her condition was. And then is... Watch what He said to her now, "Go get your husband and come here."And she said, "I have no husband." [John 4:16]

E-152 He said, "You have said the truth, for you've had five, and the one you now are living with is not yours. So, in this, you've said the truth."Watch the difference between that woman and that bunch of priests. She knowed more about God than that whole bunch of priests did, put together. [John 4:17-18]

E-153 She said, "Sir, I perceive that You are a Prophet." She said, "We haven't had one for four hundred years. Now, we know that the Messiah is coming. And when the Messiah comes, that's what He is going to do." That was the sign of the Messiah, for He was the Son of man. Said, "That's what He is going to do when He comes. You must be His prophet." [John 4:19]

E-154 He said, "I am He." Nobody else could say that.

E-155 She dropped that waterpot and run into the city, and said, "Come, see a Man Who told me what I done. Isn't this the very Messiah?"Now remember, He promised to do that same thing at the end of the Gentile race.The Jews had had four thousand years to look for that Messiah, four thousand years of teaching He was coming, and what He would do when He got there, and they failed to see Him, or failed to recognize it. And when He made Hisself known in the very Bible terms that He said He would, when He had been a theophany and then become flesh and dwelt among them, they failed to see it, and called His works the works of the devil. [John 4:29]

E-156 Now we've had two thousand years of teaching, coming down through the Roman Catholic church, after the apostles. Then we come down through the Roman Catholic, the Greek, and so forth, on down to Luther's age, and Wesley, whatmore, nine hundred different organizations coming down. They had all these ages, teaching.Now He promised, just before the end time would come, that the picture of Sodom and Gomorrah would again, "As it was in the days of Sodom, so shall it be in the coming of the end time, the Son of man will reveal Himself again." [Blank.spot.on.tape--Ed.]"Yet a little while and the world won't see Me no more; yet ye shall see Me, for I," a personal pronoun, "I will be with you, even in you, to the consummation, the end of the world. I'll be with you." He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. You see? [Luke 17:26-27], [John 14:19]

E-157 You see, the Samaritan was, actually, from my last night's sermon, was Hagar, see, a perverted type. The Jew was Sarah, or was Sarah-ite. But the Gentile is of Mary, the Royal Seed, Abraham's Royal Seed.

E-158 Now it's promised that in these last days, that, this same God, this same Christ, would come back here and reveal Hisself as Son of man.Why? He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. And if He'd let those Jews go by with, and give them that Messianic sign, and then come to the end of the Gentile's teaching and let them just go in on theology, He would be unjust. He has got to do the same thing, because the Bible said, in thir-... Hebrews 13:8, "He is the same."And He has promised in Malachi 4, and all the different Scriptures, that, the last days, the church would be setting just exactly like it is today, and the world would be. E-159 Look at the world today. Look at the Sodom condition. Look at the earthquakes in divers places, and the things that's taking place. Look at the church and the mess it's in, of Babylon. Look at the messenger to it, an Oral Roberts and a Billy Graham.G-r-a-h-a-m, first time we ever had a messenger, to all the churches, that his name ever end in h-a-m, like Abraham. A-b-r-a-h-a-m is seven letters. G-r-a-h-a-m is six letters. Where is he at? To the world. Six is man's number. Man was created on the sixth day. But seven is God's number. [Matthew 24:7]

E-160 Now look at them down there in Sodom. And there is their messengers down there speaking to them.But then where is that royal Seed of Abraham? Where is their sign, that He said? "As it was in the days of Sodom," that God came down and was manifested in human flesh, and told what Sarah was thinking back in her heart, in the tent behind Him, the last sign before the Gentile world was destroyed by fire. And the Church has got its last sign before the whole world is going to be destroyed, this Gentile kingdom be destroyed by the fire and wrath of God. Do you believe that? E-161 That Melchisedec was flesh, represented Himself in a human body; and then later He was made flesh. And now, tonight, He is the same, yesterday, today, and forever. Do you believe it? [Congregation says, "Amen."--Ed.]

E-162 Who is this Melchisedec, then, that's the same yesterday, today..." Never had no father, never had no mother; He never had no beginning of days, He never had any end of life." And He met Abraham, and what kind of a sign did He perform? Then when He was made flesh, He said it would repeat again just before the end time. Do you believe that? E-163 Dear God, I believe the Scriptures, that You have said You was "the same yesterday, today, and forever." And as sincerely in my heart, Lord, I know that something is fixing to take place. I cannot strictly identify it. I'm afraid to say anything, Lord. Thou knowest the heart of Your servant's.

E-164 And how many times, down through the age when You sent things, people failed to get it. Man is constantly praising God for what He did, and saying what great things He is going to do, but ignoring what He's doing. So has it been through the age. Why did the Roman church fail to see Saint Patrick as God's prophet? Why did they kill Joan of Arc when she was a--a prophetess, burnt her as a witch? Father, it's always past. You hide it from the eyes of the wise and prudent. No wonder You said to them priests, "You garnish the tombs of the prophets, and you're the one that put them in there." After they're gone, they see their mistake. They always persecute You, Lord, in whatever form You come in. [Matthew 23:29]

E-165 I pray, tonight, God, just one more time. Tomorrow we're scheduled to be... to go to Tucson. Other parts of the world, other cities we must preach in. But, Dear God, there might be strangers here tonight that never has... They've heard Words preached, but never seen It made manifest.As I asked You at the beginning. When those disciples, Cleopas and his friend, coming from Emmaus, was walking along the road, and You stepped out of the bush and begin to talk to them, after the resurrection, preached to them. Why, He said, "Fools, slow of heart. Don't you know that Christ should suffer these things, then enter into His glory?" But still they never recognized it. All day long they walked with You, and still didn't know You. But one night...Night come, they constrained You to come in. When they went into the little inn and closed the doors, then You did something just the way You did it before Your crucifixion, and they recognized it was the risen Christ. In a few moments You was behind the curtains and gone. Quickly they run and told the disciples, "The Lord is risen indeed!" [Luke 24:18, 45]

E-166 Father, God, I believe that You're still alive. I know You are. And You've proved it to us so many time. Could You just do it once more for us, Lord? If we found grace in Your sight, let it happen once more. I am Your servant; these are Your servants in here. Lord, all that I've said wouldn't mount to... Just one word from You would be more than I've said in these five nights, or five messages. It would be more, just one word from You. Won't You speak, Lord, that the people might know that I've told them the Truth? Grant it, God. I ask it in Jesus' Name, this once more. Amen.

E-167 Now, I don't know you. I know some people. I know this boy setting here. I know Bill Dauch setting right there. I want to... Here is Brother Blair, Rodney Cox. It's hard to see out there.
On this side, right at the present time I can't see nobody, actually, that I know.

E-168 Now how many in here that knows that I am a stranger to you? Raise up your hands, knows that I know nothing about you, raise up your hands on both sides.How many in here that has something wrong, or something that you know that I know nothing about? Would you raise up your hands.Now, it would be totally, absolutely totally impossible for me to know anything about you. Otherwise, then, it'd have to come from some revelation of Spirit.And being that I've told you all these nights, and tonight, that He is not dead; He is here, and promised to do the same thing. And promised that there would come a time in the last days, according to Malachi 4 and according to Saint Luke, that He would appear again in human form among His people and do the same things, and reveal the same thing, the same Messianic sign. How many knows that, you Bible readers, knows that's the Truth? Say, "Amen." [Congregation says, "Amen."--Ed.] Must all be Bible readers. [Malachi 4:5], [Luke 17:30]

E-169 Now, I know it's foreign to the people today, but still it's the Truth. That's the reason they didn't know Jesus of Nazareth. They knowed their church creeds, but they didn't know Him. But He come just the way the Bible said; not a theologian, not a priest. He come as a Prophet, and His Own received Him not.

E-170 Now, if God will keep His Word, and if I happen to... it happens to fall on someone that I know, then I'll--I'll get someone else. See, I want somebody that I don't know. And I want you to pray.

E-171 Now, look, there was a little woman one time had an infirmity. She had spent her money for the doctors; they could do her no good. And she said within her heart, "If I can touch that Man's garments, I'll be made well." You remember the story? And so all of them tried to get her to stay back, but she pressed through until she touched His garment, went back and set down. [Matthew 9:20]

E-172 Now listen close. And then when He did that, when she did that, Jesus turned around and said, "Who touched Me?"

E-173 Why, Peter the apostle rebuked Him. He might have said something like, "Lord, don't say a thing like that. The people will believe there is something wrong with You. Because, when You asked them to eat Your flesh and drink Your Blood, they already think there is something wrong. And You say, 'Who touched Me?' Why, the whole crowd is a-touching You." [Luke 8:45]

E-174 He said, "Yes, but I perceive that virtue went out of Me." That was a different kind of touch. Now, anybody knows that virtue is "strength." "I got weak; virtue left Me."And He looked around on the audience until He found the little woman, and told her about her blood issue. And she felt in her body that that blood issue had stopped. Is that right? And He said, "Thy faith has saved thee."Now, the Greek word there is sozo, which absolutely means "saved," physically or spiritual, just the same. He "saved." He is--He is your Saviour. [Luke 7:50]

E-175 Now, if that was Him yesterday, and the way He acted, to prove that He was among the people, the Messiah promised; and that's the way He identified Himself, and promise by the Bible, He would do the same thing now; wouldn't He, wouldn't He have to do the same thing?

E-176 You say, "Did He say about healing the sick?" Yeah!The Hebrews, the Bible that I just read from, said that, "Jesus Christ now is our High Priest that can be touched by the feeling of our infirmities." How many knows that true? [Congregation says, "Amen."--Ed.] The Bible said that. "He's the High Priest now that can be touched by the feeling of our infirmities." Then if He's the same High Priest that He was then, how would He act now? He would have to act the same way He did then, if He's the same High Priest. Now, you might...I'm not your High Priest. You might touch me, and it'd be just like touching your husband, or your brother, or whatmore, a man. [Hebrews 4:15]

E-177 But you let your faith touch Him, and watch what happens. Now, if I be God's servant and have told you the Truth, God will vindicate that to be the Truth. And that would prove that Jesus Christ is a living tonight, standing here. Is that right? [Congregation says, "Amen."--Ed.]
Now, you have faith, just one side at a time, one side. You have faith out there. I better stay at the microphone here, because they can't hear me.

E-178 Somebody just look up to God, and say, "God, that man don't know me. He knows nothing about me. I'm a perfect stranger to him. But let my faith touch You, Lord. And You know what's the matter with me, Lord. You know all about me. You know who I am, the same as You knowed who Peter was, same as You knowed Nathanael, as You knowed what was wrong with the woman with the blood issue. And this man tells me that You're 'the same yesterday, today, and forever.' Then, Lord, let my faith touch You."
And if He'll do that, and infallibly prove Himself here, how many of you will believe Him with all your heart; if He'll do it at least one, or two, or three people, for a--for a witness? [Congregation says, "Amen."--Ed.] God bless you. [Hebrews 13:8]

E-179 Now, Father God, this is totally out of the hands of any man. It would have to be supernatural phenomena. So I pray that You'll help me now, Lord. I'm in Your hands. Do with me as You see fit. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

E-180 Now, don't be nervous. Just humbly, reverently say, "Lord, I'll serve You. And that'll be a truth, that, if I can touch Your garment, then You speak back through that man. That will prove to me that what he said is the Truth." That right?

E-181 How many ever seen the picture of that Light? It's all over the country, everywhere. Science has took it and examined it, and everywhere. Now, He is right here now; same One that said about Marriage And Divorce, same One was on the mountain, shook the hills back there, same One that's down here at the river in '33, the same yesterday, today, and forever. He's the same.

E-182 Now, there is a woman, and she recognizes now that something has happened. That Light is hanging right over her. She is setting right here, green sweater on, or something. I don't know the woman. I suppose we are strangers to one another. That is right. Do you believe that God... You're--you're in need of something, and you believe that God can reveal to me what your trouble is? And if He does, then you know it'll have to be a supernatural power, because I don't know you. And it'll have to come through supernatural.
Depends upon what you think it is. You can take your side with the priests, call it "the devil," or you can take the side with the believer and call it "God." Ever which you believe, that's where your reward will come from.

E-183 If God will reveal to me your trouble, will you accept Him as your--your atonement for that trouble? I don't know what the trouble is. But I know, and you know, that something is going on.

E-184 Now, now just let me tell you how you're feeling, and then you'll know; a real warm, sweet, comfortable feeling. I'm looking right straight at It. It's that Light, amber Light hanging from the woman.
And the lady is suffering with a trouble in her stomach. It's a kind of a growths, like, in her stomach. She is not from here. [The sister says, "Right."] No. You're from away from here aren't you? That's right. You're from Wisconsin. Is that right? Sure. Now you are healed. Your faith has made you whole.

E-185 Now tell me Who the woman touched? I'm twenty-five yards from her. She touched Jesus Christ, the High Priest. Do you believe that? [Congregation says, "Amen."--Ed.]

E-186 I'm looking at a woman that I talked to. This woman, I'm looking right at her, 'cause she is praying so hard for a man. She told me she had a man... She never told me nothing about it.
But her name is Mrs. Waldrop. She comes from Phoenix. She was raised from the dead, and her doctor come with the x-rays and showed cancer in the heart. She died in the prayer line. How long ago has that been, Mrs. Waldrop? Eighteen years ago, and there she sets tonight, a living testimony. Her doctor has come to the meeting, brought the... Said, "How can the woman live?" But there she is, and no sign of it.

E-187 She has brought someone, and she is praying for him. Now, he is dying, with diabetes. Now, that I knew. But being that you are praying... You know I don't know who he is, Mrs. Waldrop.

E-188 He is from Missouri, and his name is Mr. Cooper. That is right. Now, you believe, you can go back home and be well, sir. It's up to you, if you'll believe it.

E-189 Here is a woman, and she is suffering with a asthmatic condition, complications. She is not from here. She is setting out there in the crowd, right out there. I hope she gets... She is not from here. She is from Georgia. Miss McKenny. Do you believe with all your heart, and believe that God will make you well? Stand up on your feet, if you're a stranger to me and that is true. Jesus Christ heals you. Do you believe?

E-190 To my back, there is a man setting behind me. He is contacting God. And what he's wanting; he has got a baby that's got heart trouble. And that baby has got a murmur in his heart, so the doctor said. And that man's name is Mr. Cox. Stand up, Mr. Cox. "And He told Sarah what she was thinking, behind Him."

E-191 Right across the aisle from him, back a little farther, is a man who comes not from here, but from New Mexico. I never seen him, in my life. I'm looking right at him now, and he is behind me. He is from New Mexico. And the man has a girl that he is interested in, and the girl has got something wrong with her mouth. It's a... The palate in her mouth is what's wrong. And the man's name is Mr. West. Would you stand up, sir. I'm a total stranger to him, but the Lord God will heal his child.

E-192 Do you believe now with all your heart? [Congregation says, "Amen."--Ed.] How many of you believe now with all your heart? ["Amen."] Now, isn't Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever? ["Amen."] Do you accept Him now as your Saviour? Raise your hand. ["Amen."] Do you believe in Him as your Healer? ["Amen."]

E-193 Here, here is a person setting here, crippled or something, laying on a cot.
Can you hear me through this mike? [Brother Branham takes a microphone and walks toward the edge of the platform and talks to the woman on the cot--Ed.] I don't know you. You're just a woman laying there. If I could heal you, I would do it. I can't heal you.
[A man begins weeping--Ed.] All right. It's just a man who is rejoicing. His child was healed.
I don't know you. You're a woman, and I'm a man. This is the first time we've met in life, I suppose. These people...?... that brought you. Frankly, this is your first time here; just brought you in. You come from a long way. You are shadowed to death. You have cancer. It's not cripple. It's a cancer. The doctors can't do no more for you. It's true. And you're sure to die; those doctors can do no more for you.

E-194 One time there was three lepers set at the gate of Samaria. And them lepers said, "Why do we set here till we die?" Because, all the sickness, starving to death, and eating one another's children. They said, "If we go down to the enemy's camp, the Syrians; if they kill us, we're going to die, anyhow. And if they save us, we'll live." And they took that chance. And, by that faith, they not only saved theirself but the whole group. [II Kings 7:3]

E-195 Now, you're going to die if you lay there. But you're not asked to go to the camp that they did. But you're invited to the house of the Father,...?...

E-196 You are dying with cancer. You can't live outside of God. You're not from this city. You're not from around here. You've come a long way. You're from Milwaukee. That's true. That's right. I seen the city. I know it. That's right.
Do you believe? Will you accept God now as your healer? If you will, no matter how weak you are, how bedfast you are, I believe, in your case, I would rise up in the Name of Jesus Christ. And take that cot and go home, and live to the glory of God. Will you obey me, as God's prophet? Then rise up and go, and be well. Be well! Don't be scared. Get up off the cot; God will make you well. See?

E-197 Somebody hold her so she can get up and get strength. Do you believe God? Just let her get a little strength; she'll be all right. That's it, sister. There she is, in the Name of the Lord Jesus! [Congregation rejoices as the sister is now standing.]
