E-1 Wir wollen unsere Häupter für einen Augenblick neigen. Teurer himmlischer Vater, wir erachten es wirklich als ein großes Vorrecht, heute in Los Angeles unter diesen Gläubigen, unter den Auserwählten zu sein, unter Kindern Gottes, die aus der Welt herausgerufen und abgesondert worden sind. Dies ist eine gewaltige Stunde, in der wir leben, denn wir erwarten jederzeit die Erscheinung unseres geliebten Herrn Jesus. Wir danken Dir in unseren Herzen für den Glauben, dass Er in unserer Generation kommen wird. Wir schauen heute nach Ihm aus. Wenn Er heute nicht kommt und wir Morgen noch hier sind, dann werden wir Morgen auf Ihn warten.
Teurer Gott, wir beten, dass dies eine besondere Versammlung wird. Möge es eine Zeit sein, in der solch ein Fortschritt in der Gemeinde zu verzeichnen ist, dass er auch in Deinen Büchern in der Ewigkeit steht. Segne auch die schwächste Anstrengung, die wir unternehmen. Wir erkennen, dass wir ohne Dich völlige Versager sind. Deshalb brauchen wir Dich, Herr, damit wir weitermachen können.
Wir wollen dies nicht zu unserer eigenen Ehre; wir wollen es zu Deiner Ehre. Denn es ist das Verlangen unseres Herzens, Jesus in Seinem Volk verherrlicht zu sehen, damit sein Glaube heute, wo der Kampf so hart ist, gestärkt wird. Wir sind gekommen, um neu erquickt, neu belebt und erfrischt zu werden. Wir beten darum, dass Du uns all diese Dinge gewährst, denn wir erbitten es im Namen Jesus. Amen. Ihr könnt euch setzen.
E-2 Bruder Shakarian, Schwester Wyatt und all ihr Freunde in unserem Herrn Jesus Christus, ich schätze es sehr, dass ich die Gelegenheit habe, wieder in Los Angeles zu sein und von diesem wunderbaren Jesus zu predigen. Wir alle sind heute hier, um mehr von Ihm zu erfahren. [Jemand spricht mit Bruder Branham wegen der Mikrophone. - Verf.] Ja. Es ist eine komplizierte Angelegenheit. Dieses hier scheint nicht zu funktionieren. So geht es nicht, Bruder Shakarian. Das klingt schon ein wenig besser. Ich bin klein und habe eine schwache Stimme, aber eine gewaltige Botschaft vom Herrn. Es gab viel Widerstand vom Satan, um mich davon abzuhalten, dass ich sie bringe. Trotzdem gelangten wir hierher. Wir sind zuversichtlich, dass dies für uns alle eine bedeutende Woche wird.
E-3 Ich saß da und dachte darüber nach, wie oft unser teurer verstorbener Bruder Thomas Wyatt, der ein großer Knecht Christi war, von demselben Pult aus gesprochen hat. Ich kannte Bruder Wyatt. Es war für mich immer sehr inspirierend, wenn ich ihn traf und mit ihm sprach. Ich kann mich noch daran erinnern, dass er ein Buch schrieb, als ich noch ein junger Prediger war. Es hieß „Wings of Healing”. Das gefällt mir: „Flügel der Heilung”.Wir sind froh, hier in diesem Tempel zu sein, der für den Dienst Christi geweiht ist. Gott segne seine Witwe und euch alle. Ich weiß, dass ihr ihn sehr vermißt.
Ich vermisse sein Radioprogramm. Als ich erfuhr, dass er abberufen wurde, konnte ich noch seine Stimme hören. Er war ja schon im vorgerückten Alter, trotzdem hatte er immer noch eine gute, kräftige Stimme und eine Botschaft von Gott. Sein Leben besteht hier in euch fort. Auf den Missionsfeldern, wohin er seine Leute sandte, dringt das Evangelium voran, weil es einen Thomas Wyatt gab. Möge seine Seele in Frieden ruhen bis zu der Zeit, wenn wir ihn in Jenem herrlichen Land wiedersehen, wo es keinen Tod und kein Alter mehr gibt. Wir werden hier weitermachen, bis unsere Zeit kommt und wir gerufen werden oder die große Auferstehung stattfindet, wenn Jesus wiederkommt, um uns alle heimzuholen.
E-4 Ich weiß, dass ihr wohl heute Abend einen Gottesdienst hier haben werdet. Vor einigen Minuten erfuhr ich, dass heute Abend ein Gottesdienst stattfindet. Deshalb werde ich mich beeilen, so gut ich kann. Ich habe ja in dieser Woche noch Montag, Dienstag und Mittwochabend usw. und vertraue darauf, dass der Herr uns segnen wird. Wir werden für die Kranken beten. So der Herr will - wenn es in Seinem Willen ist, werden wir Christus in der ganzen Kraft Seiner Auferstehung predigen, falls Er es uns gestattet. Was immer Er gebietet, das möchten wir von ganzem Herzen tun. Ich weiß, dass Er uns segnen wird, wenn wir Ihm nur glauben.
E-5 Ehe wir jetzt das Wort aufschlagen, um es zu lesen, möchte ich noch einmal mit Ihm reden. Wir wollen unsere Häupter neigen und stille werden, indem wir darauf vertrauen, dass die Verwirrung vorüber ist. Wir als Christen wissen, dass der Feind, unser Feind, überall am Werke ist. Doch seht: Bleibt ruhig, wenn solche Dinge geschehen. Gott weiß, was vor sich geht. Bleibt ruhig, vielleicht tut Er etwas, von dem ihr in dem Moment noch nichts wißt. Wir wollen zu Ihm sprechen.
Vater, wir bitten dich, dass Du jetzt das Meer beruhigst, dass der mächtige Herr Jesus jetzt mit Seinem Wort hereinkommt, sich kundtut und uns Seine Macht in ganz neuen Sphären unter Beweis stellt. Wir bitten darum: möge Sein Wort, während wir es lesen, in unseren Herzen lebendig werden, so dass wir Ihn in der Kraft Seiner Auferstehung erkennen, denn wir bitten es im Namen Jesus. Amen.
E-6 Schlagt mit mir 5. Moses auf. Ich möchte einige Verse aus 5. Moses 16 lesen:
Halte den Monat Abib, dass du Passah haltest dem Herrn, deinem Gott; denn im Monat Abib hat dich der Herr, dein Gott, aus Ägypten geführt bei der Nacht.
Und sollst dem Herrn, deinem Gott, das Passah schlachten, Schafe und Rinder, an der Stätte, die der Herr erwählen wird, dass sein Name daselbst wohne.
Du sollst kein Gesäuertes auf das Fest essen. Sieben Tage sollst du ungesäuertes Brot des Elends essen, denn mit Furcht bist du aus Ägyptenland gezogen; auf dass du des Tages deines Auszugs aus Ägyptenland gedenkst dein Leben lang.
Es soll in sieben Tagen kein Sauerteig gesehen werden in allen deinen Grenzen; und soll auch nichts vom Fleisch, das des Abends am ersten Tage geschlachtet ist, über Nacht bleiben bis an den Morgen.
Du darfst nicht Passah schlachten in irgend deiner Tore einem, die dir der Herr, dein Gott, gegeben hat,
sondern an der Stätte, die der Herr, dein Gott, erwählen wird, dass sein Name daselbst wohne, da sollst du das Passah schlachten des Abends, wenn die Sonne ist untergegangen, zu der Zeit, als du aus Ägypten zogst.
E-7 [Ein Baby schreit jetzt in der Versammlung. - Verf.] Es scheint, als hätten wir weitere Schwierigkeiten. Ich glaube aber, dass ich das Weinen des Kindes übertönen kann.
Es ist ein sehr sonderbares Thema, über das ich heute nachmittag sprechen möchte. Es lautet: Gottes bereiteter Ort der Anbetung.
Das ist außergewöhnlich. Doch ich habe es bereits oft gesagt, dass Gott sich gewöhnlich in außergewöhnlicher Weise an außergewöhnlichen Orten durch außergewöhnliche Dinge kundtut, denn Er ist außergewöhnlich. Jeder, der an Ihn glaubt, handelt ungewöhnlich. Es gibt viele Dinge, die wir über Seine Ungewöhnlichkeit sagen könnten. Ich weiß jedoch, dass alle, die Ihn kennen, wissen, dass Er außergewöhnlich ist und außergewöhnliche Dinge tut; manchmal zu einer ungewöhnlichen Zeit. Wir vertrauen darauf, dass Gott heute das Lesen Seines Wortes und den Text segnet, den ich gewählt habe, um darüber zu euch zu sprechen.
Nach meiner Ansicht wurden die Schwierigkeiten hier wohl dadurch verursacht, dass sie ihre Tonbandgeräte angeschaltet und dadurch dem Mikrophon den Strom weggenommen haben. Selbst wenn sie den Schaden nicht beheben können, werdet ihr mich trotzdem hören. Gott wird unsere Ohren schärfen, damit wir hören können.
E-8 Der Grund, weshalb ich über dieses Thema sprechen möchte und es für eine günstige Gelegenheit ansehe, dies in einer Versammlung der Geschäftsleute des vollen Evangeliums zu tun, besteht darin, weil in dieser Gruppe alle bzw. viele Gemeinden und Denominationen vertreten sind.
Oft stelle ich fest, dass von den Menschen, die ich auf der Straße, auf der Autobahn, im Flugzeug, im Zug, im Bus treffe und frage: „Bist du ein Christ?”
Der eine antwortet: „Ich bin Methodist.”
„Ich bin Baptist.”
„Ich bin Presbyterianer”
„Ich bin Lutheraner”
„Pfingstler” oder etwas dergleichen. Und alles….
E-9 Jeder gehört zu einer Denomination, die er repräsentieren will. Es ist völlig in Ordnung, eine Gemeinde zu repräsentieren, doch das Schlechte daran ist, dass jeder von ihnen denkt, diese bestimmte Gruppe sei die einzige, die in den Himmel kommt, und die einzige, durch die Gott repräsentiert wird. Und es ist der einzige, in dem Gott überhaupt vertreten ist, ist jemandes bestimmte Gruppe.
Ich dachte, dieser Nachmittag wäre eine günstige Gelegenheit, das zu klären. Vielleicht bearbeitet Satan deshalb ständig dieses Mikrophon. Ihr wißt ja: Alles, was der Mensch tut, wird mißlingen, doch was Gott tut, kann nicht mißlingen. Weil dies eine günstige Gelegenheit und ein guter Ort ist, um es zu tun, möge Gott uns durch Seine Gnade helfen. Wir werden unser Bestes versuchen, darüber zu sprechen.
E-10 Dieser Text steht im 5. Buch Moses. Doch ich habe mir noch einige Schriftstellen und Notizen aufgeschrieben. Früher konnte ich sie mir gut merken, aber seitdem ich die Fünfundzwanzig zum zweitenmal überschritten habe, fällt es mir schwer, sie alle in Erinnerung zu behalten. Ich begebe mich in den Raum und bete. Dann schreibe ich mir die Schriftstellen auf, die Er mir gibt, und mache mir hier und da eine Notiz dazu, damit ich die Gedankengänge so nachvollziehen kann wie zu dem Zeitpunkt, als Er es mir zuteil werden ließ.
E-11 Deuteronomium, die griechische Bezeichnung für das 5. Buch Moses, bedeutet „zweite Gesetzgebung”. Gott hat zwei Gesetze. Das eine ist das Gesetz des Todes, aufgrund von Ungehorsam gegen das Wort. Wir wissen: der Ungehorsam Evas Seinem Wort gegenüber brachte den Tod. Dies ist eines Seiner Gesetze: „An welchem Tage du davon issest, wirst du des Todes sterben.”
ER hat noch ein anderes Gesetz; es ist das Gesetz des Lebens, durch Gehorsam, wenn man dies und jenes nicht tut. Wenn ihr Sein Wort haltet, werdet ihr leben.
Meiner Ansicht nach läuft es auf zwei Dinge hinaus: entweder Sein Wort zu halten oder Seinem Wort ungehorsam zu sein. Eines dieser Gesetze wurde auf dem Berg Sinai erlassen, und der andere war.... Das ist das Gesetz des Todes. Das andere Gesetz wurde durch Jesus Christus auf dem Berg Golgatha gegeben: das Gesetz des Lebens.
ER hat auch zwei Bündnisse.
E-12 ER hatte einen Bund mit Adam, dem ersten Menschen auf Erden. Der Bund war an Bedingungen geknüpft: „Wenn du das und das tust, werde Ich das und das tun. Adam mußte etwas tun, um diesen Bund vor Gott lebendig zu erhalten. Er mußte in den Wegen Gottes wandeln, Sein ganzes Wort halten, ohne eines davon zu brechen.
Dann aber richtete Er einen anderen Bund auf, und zwar mit Abraham. Dieser Bund war nicht an Bedingungen geknüpft, sondern bedingungslos. Gott schloß den Bund mit Abraham, ohne irgendetwas damit zu verknüpfen. Bedingungslos! Nicht: „Ich werde”, sondern: „Ich habe! ICH habe es bereits getan!”
Nach diesem Gesetz müssen die Christen leben. Es hängt nicht davon ab, was wir tun, sondern was Er für uns getan hat. Christus ist schon als Opfer dargebracht worden. ER wird nicht erst; Er ist bereits! Es ist ein vollendetes Werk. ER lebte, starb, ist auferstanden, in den Himmel aufgefahren und in Gestalt des Heiligen Geistes zurückgekommen. Für Gott ist es also ein vollendetes Werk.
Christus, der keine Sünde kannte, wurde für mich zur Sünde. Damit ich Seinen Platz einnehmen kann, nahm Er meinen Platz ein. Ich war in Ihm, als Er auf Golgatha starb. Dort mußte ich mit Ihm sterben, um leben zu können. Weil das Gesetz der Sünde und des Todes im Leibe ist, müßt ihr sterben, um mit Ihm versöhnt zu werden.
E-13 Wir könnten all diese Worte, die gewaltigen Texte, die wir alle gut kennen, und ebenso die herrlichen Schattenbilder der Schrift verwenden. Doch heute nachmittag werden wir damit konfrontiert, dass Er trotz allem sagt, dass es nur einen Ort gibt, an dem Er uns begegnet, und das angesichts all unserer verschiedenen Theorien. Wir hatten das Judentum, wir hatten den Islam, wir haben alle Arten von Konfessionen, Denominationen, Kirchen usw. Dennoch sagt Gott, dass es nur einen Ort gibt, an dem Er uns begegnet. In all diesen Stätten sagt jeder: „ER begegnet uns in meiner Kirchengemeinde. Wenn ihr nicht zu ihr gehört, wird Er euch nicht begegnen.
Ihr müßt in dieser Gruppe sein.
Oder, sonst wird Er euch dort nicht begegnen.“ oder: „ER wird euch nirgendwo als nur dort begegnen.”
E-14 Wir stellen fest, dass Er eine Stätte hat, nur eine einzige. „Du sollst das Opfer an der Stätte darbringen, die der Herr, dein Gott erwählen wird.”
ER hat einen erwählten Ort, an dem Er den anbetenden Kindern begegnet. Sie durften an keiner anderen Stätte opfern als an dieser einen Stätte. An jedem anderen Ort wäre es nicht wirksam gewesen. ER hatte einen bestimmten Ort, wo Er ihnen begegnen würde. Es gibt nur einen Ort, an dem Er dem Anbetenden begegnet. Wenn das stimmt, dann sollten wir sehr darauf achten, dass wir diesen Ort finden. Ich meine, das geziemt sich für uns als Menschen, die wissen, dass wir sterben müssen, die wir in einem sterbenden Geschlecht, in einem sterbenden Zeitalter, in einer sterbenden Nation, unter dem Banner des Todes leben.
E-15 Diese Welt muss bald zu ihrem Ende kommen. Es kann nicht mehr viel länger dauern. Die Sünde ist zu weit vorgedrungen. Es besteht keine Hoffnung mehr. Für die Welt gibt es keine Hoffnung mehr. Es ist zu spät dafür. Ich glaube, der Heilige Geist hält Nachlese auf den Feldern, um noch diesen und jenen zu finden, weil die Stunde weit fortgeschritten ist. Das Evangelium ist jeder Nation gepredigt worden. „Ismen” und verschiedene Dinge folgten darauf. Dennoch ist das Evangelium vorwärts gedrungen.
Jetzt, in der Endzeit, wo wir die Dinge so geschehen sehen, wie sie vor sich gehen, ist unter dem auserwählten Volk Gottes ein mächtiges Warnsignal, so dass sie herausfinden wollen, was richtig ist. Es ist wichtig, dass wir es wissen; nicht in der Theorie von irgend jemandem, sondern dass wir wissen, was Wahrheit ist - was die Bibel als Wahrheit bezeichnet. Eines Tages wird es zu spät für uns sein, und vielleicht ist dies der Tag. Laßt uns deshalb wirklich unser Augenmerk darauf richten, was Gott gesagt hat.
E-16 Denkt daran: Wenn Gott ein Wort ausspricht, kann Er es nie mehr zurücknehmen. ER muss immer derselbe bleiben. ER kann nicht etwas aussprechen und anschließend sagen: „ICH habe es nicht genau so gemeint.” Seht, Er ist unendlich; Er weiß von vornherein, was das Beste ist. Wir sagen Dinge, die wir für das Beste halten, doch nach einer Weile nehmen wir sie zurück. Gott kann das nicht tun und Gott bleiben. Wenn Er unendlich ist, kann Er es nicht tun, weil jedes Seiner Worte vollkommen ist. ER spricht nie ein Wort aus, es sei denn, es ist ewig. Alles, was Ihm ewig angehört, war schon am Anfang in Ihm: Seine Gedanken, Seine Attribute. Sie kommen lediglich heute in der Welt zum Ausdruck.
E-17 Denkt daran, Er hat einen bereiteten Ort, nur eine Stätte, wo Er Seinen glaubenden Kindern begegnet. Nirgendwo sonst geschieht es.
Als Jesus hier auf Erden war und zu einer Gruppe sehr religiöser, feiner, kultivierter Menschen sprach, die für Gott eiferten, sagte Er trotzdem zu ihnen: „Vergeblich verehrt ihr Mich”, weil sie Menschengebote zu ihren Lehren gemacht haben. Denkt daran, wie fromm diese Menschen waren, wie sie für Gott eiferten. Ich glaube, wenn wir die Menschen von heute oder damals zählen würden, die eifriger sind als wir, so würden sie uns übertreffen. Bei weitem! Was die Einhaltung der Überlieferungen, Gesetze usw. anbelangt, so lebten sie danach. Sie eiferten für Gott, und sie glaubten Gott.
Dennoch sagte Jesus, der ja Gott in Menschengestalt war und unter uns wohnte: „Vergeblich betet ihr Mich an.” ER sagte nicht, dass sie Ihm nicht dienten. Sie beteten Ihn an, doch vergeblich. Alles, was vergeblich ist, das ist nutzlos, das hat keinen Wert. Ihr solltet es nie tun, denn es ist nur Zeitverschwendung. Ihr verschwendet euren Atem, es ist vergebliche Mühe, bis wir erkennen, was wir tun sollen.
E-18 Wenn Gott von Menschen erwartet, dass sie vollkommen sind, wie Jesus sagte: „Darum sollt ihr vollkommen sein, wie euer Vater im Himmel vollkommen ist”, dann muss es gewiß irgendwo eine Zubereitung geben. ER sprach: „ICH werde die Stätte erwählen, wo die Menschen Mich anbeten sollen. An keiner anderen Stätte werde Ich ihnen begegnen.” Es muss also diese Stätte sein, und wir müssen sie ausfindig machen, herausfinden, wo sie ist, und dann dorthin gehen. Ich meine, wir sollten uns schnell dorthin begeben, sobald wir die Stätte gefunden haben, und alles andere verlassen.
Denkt an das, was Jesus hier in der Schriftstelle gesagt hat, die ich zitierte. Menschliche Überlieferungen sind wertlos. Wir sollten uns nie damit abgeben. Irgendwo muss es eine Stätte geben, die Er für uns bereitet hat, damit wir kommen können und die Anbetung angenommen wird. Denkt daran: Außerhalb dieses erwähltenOrtes ist alle Anbetung, ganz gleich, wie aufrichtig ihr seid, wie sehr ihr der Schrift glaubt, vergeblich. Ich weiß, das hört sich hart an. Doch der Bau ist fast fertig, und wir möchten nicht, dass er wankt. Wir wollen ihn mit dem Evangelium befestigen, damit ihr Christen für die Menschen, die euch auf der Straße begegnen, oder wo immer ihr euch befindet, eine Antwort habt
Und zwar zu der Stunde, wenn sie sagen: „Oh, dies ist das. Ich habe gesehen, wie diese das und diese jenes taten.” Gewiß, all diese Dinge müssen geschehen. Doch es gibt einen Ort, der von Gott allein bereitet wurde. Das ist die einzige Stätte, an der Gott dem Anbeter begegnet.
E-19 Beachtet den 2. Vers: „Bringet das Opfer an der Stätte dar, die Ich erwählt habe.” Was hat Er erwählt? „An der Stätte” zeigt, dass Gott einen Ort hat, wo alle Menschen anbeten können. Andere Orte sind wertlos. „Diese Stätte”, so sagte Er, „habe Ich erwählt, um Meinen Namen dort wohnen zu lassen. ICH habe eine Stätte erwählt und werde Meinen Namen dort wohnen lassen - an der Stätte, wo die Anbetung erfolgen soll.” Dies zeigt, dass es einen Ort gibt; nur einen. Es muss derjenige nach der Wahl Gottes sein, nicht nach unserer. Wir haben keine Wahl mehr; Er hat ihn bereits erwählt.
Was Gott erwählt, das ist das Richtige. Ich kann die verkehrte Wahl treffen, ihr könnt die verkehrte Wahl treffen. Gott kann es nicht. Gottes Wahl ist richtig. Überdies ist Er derjenige, der angebetet wird. ER hat eine Stätte, wo Er Seinen Anbetern begegnen möchte. Dort müssen wir Ihm begegnen. Das ist die einzige Stätte, wo Er wohnt; die einzige Stätte, wo Er euch erhört.
E-20 Wir wollen hier folgendes festhalten: „An der Stätte, die Ich erwählt habe, um dort angebetet zu werden, will Ich Meinen Namen wohnen lassen.”
Oh, laßt uns jetzt die Schrift nach diesem Ort durchforschen, wo Sein Name wohnt. Wir wissen, dass es in der ganzen Bibel Schatten- und Sinnbilder von verschiedenen Orten gibt, wo Er den Menschen begegnet ist. Doch das ist nicht der Ort, wo Er ihnen heute begegnet, denn dadurch ist nur etwas vorschattiert worden, bis es zu dieser wahren Stätte kam, wo Er den Menschen begegnet, dem Ort, der Gemeinde, wo man Ihm begegnen kann. Es gibt eine Stätte, es gibt eine Gemeinde, von der Gott verheißen hat, dass Er den Menschen an dem Ort begegnet und ihre Gebete beantwortet, wenn sie nur zu dieser Stätte kommen würden, um Ihn anzubeten.
Jetzt erfahren wir, dass.... Viele behaupten, diese Stätte zu haben und dass der Name Gottes dort, an ihrer Stätte, wohnt. Doch seht, sie haben den Namen Gottes dorthin getan. Es ist ein großer Unterschied, ob Gott Seinen Namen dorthin legt oder ob es irgend jemand tut. Wir müssen uns merken, dass Gott sagte, Er wird ihn dort wohnen lassen. „ICH lasse Meinen Namen dort wohnen. ICH werde Meinen Namen an dieser Stätte wohnen lassen. Das ist der Ort, den Ich erwähle, den Ich erwählt habe, wo die Menschen anbeten sollen.”
E-21 Das bringt uns jetzt, angesichts.... Diese Schattenbilder aus jener Zeit führen uns nun Christus vor Augen. Das gesamte Alte Testament hat Jesus vorschattiert. Wir erkennen, dass Gott in jener Nacht, als das Passahlamm in Ägypten zum Schutz des Volkes geschlachtet wurde, einen Ort, eine Bedingung hatte. Ganz gleich, wie jung oder wie alt ein Priester, ein Geistlicher, oder was auch immer, war, man mußte an diesem bestimmten Ort sein. Alle, die außerhalb davon waren, kamen um. Ihr müßt an diesem einen Ort sein, einer Stätte, die Er bereitet hat.
Wir könnten heute Nachmittag viel Zeit darauf verwenden, dies zu erläutern. Doch es wäre nur eine Wiederholung dessen, was wir bereits wissen, nämlich, dass durch all diese Sinnbilder Christus vorschattiert worden ist. Das Opferlamm, wie es in Verwahrung gehalten, dass es männlich und fehlerlos sein, dass es von den Ältesten geschlachtet und dass sein Blut an die Türpfosten gestrichen werden mußte, all das war ein Sinnbild auf das Kommen Christi. Unter diesem vergossenen Blut war der Ort, wo Gott dem Anbeter begegnete, als der Würgeengel durch das Land zog.
E-22 Ich glaube, dass wir bereit sind, Ägypten zu verlassen und in das Verheißene Land hinüberzugehen. Es ist Zeit, in den rechten Ort zu gehen und mit dem Gezänk aufzuhören:
„Ich bin Presbyterianer.”
„Ich bin Methodist.”
„Ich bin Baptist.”
„Ich bin dies; ich bin das, ich bin jenes.”
Kommt heraus und findet diese Stätte, denn überall ist Tod, außer an der von Ihm erwählten Stätte. Der Tod wird so sicher, wie die Welt besteht, zuschlagen, wenn wir nicht an Seinem erwählten Ort sind. Doch die Stätte, die Er erwählt, kann der Tod nicht erreichen.
Beachtet, das Opferlamm hatte der Tod bereits heimgesucht. Der Tod war bereits an dieser Stätte gewesen, denn das Lamm war tot. Der Tod war bereits dort gewesen. Gott hat verheißen, dass der Ort, wo der Tod bereits war, Seine Stätte sein sollte. Wenn wir uns jetzt Ihn vor Äugen stellen, dann erkennen wir, was das Opferlamm und was der Ort des Lebens zu jener Zeit war.
E-23 Für mich widerlegt das alle Argumente. Mit Christus als dem Opferlamm vor Äugen werden alle Denominationen, Satzungen und Dogmen, wird das gesamte „Kirchentum” hinfällig. Es macht das Ganze null und nichtig. So ist es. Wenn wir uns Ihn vor Äugen halten, stellen wir fest, dass Er das reine, unverfälschte Wort Gottes ist. In Johannes 1 steht: „Im Anfang war das Wort, und das Wort war bei Gott, und Gott war das Wort... Und das Wort wurde Fleisch und wohnte unter uns...” Somit ist Er das unvermischte Wort Gottes, das sich in Menschengestalt kundtat.
Dies vor Augen, könnten wir es nicht mit einer Kirche oder Denomination in der Welt von heute verbinden. Wir könnten es mit keiner derartigen Stätte verbinden, weil es nicht zutrifft. Wenn wir den Namen Christi auf ein Gebäude legen und es „Gemeinde Christi” oder dergleichen nennen, dann wird es deshalb noch nicht dazu. Das macht es ganz und gar nicht dazu. Wenn jedoch Gott Seinen Namen in etwas hineinlegt, dann geschieht es dadurch.
E-24 Es gibt nichts in der Bibel, wodurch unsere modernen Organisationen vorschattiert werden, außer Babylon. Das ist das einzige Sinnbild in der Bibel, das auf unsere modernen Organisationen, auf unsere organisierte Religion zutrifft. Sie wurde von Nimrod begründet und war eine erzwungene Einheit unter religiösen Menschen. Genau das tun unsere Konfessionen und Denominationen heute: sie erzwingen eine Einheit. Entweder gehört ihr dazu, oder ihr seid erledigt.
Wie wir sehen, gehen wir jetzt darauf zu, dass alle in eine große Einheit hineingezwungen werden. Doch das ist eine eigenmächtige Anweisung eines Menschen. Sie kann keinen Bestand haben. Es ist nicht der Wille Gottes, nicht das Programm Gottes, ganz gleich, wie sehr die Menschen es so hinzustellen versuchen. Das ist es nicht. Das kann es nicht sein. Das ist unmöglich. Gott würde Seinen Namen nicht in eine solche Sache legen, die Sein Wort leugnet. Wie könnte Gott in etwas leben, das Sein eigenes Wort leugnet? Das ist nicht möglich.
E-25 Wir stellen also fest, dass es nicht mit einer Kirche zu tun hat, weder mit den Methodisten, Baptisten, Presbyterianern, Pfingstlern, Katholiken, Griechisch-Orthodoxen, oder was immer es sein mag. Sie sind nicht die Stätte Gottes zur Anbetung.
Möge Gott, der diese Verheißung gab, hervortreten und beweisen, dass es stimmt. Das ist der Weg, wie es geschehen soll. Wenn Er immer noch Gott ist, dann ist Er eben immer noch Gott. Wenn Er je Gott war, dann bleibt Er Gott.
E-26 Wir sehen, dass durch diese erzwungene Religion all die kleinen Gruppierungen „in eine große Einheit” gebracht werden sollen, wie sie es nennen. Manche glauben dies, andere jenes; die einen leugnen dies, die anderen das. Die Bibel sagt: „Wie können zwei miteinander gehen, es sei denn, sie stimmen überein.”
Es geht nicht. Wir müssen in Übereinstimmung sein. Womit übereinstimmen? Nicht miteinander, sondern vielmehr müssen wir mit dem Worte Gottes, mit Gott übereinstimmen. So muss die Übereinstimmung aussehen.
Wir haben festgestellt, dass Gruppen in Babylon eine erzwungene Einheit darstellten. Gott kann Seinen Namen nicht in so etwas hineinlegen. ER hat es nie getan und wird es nie tun. Obwohl sie es versuchten und Seinen Namen hineinlegten, ging es nicht.
Wir müssen herausfinden, wohin Er Seinen Namen gelegt hat, denn das ist der Ort, die einzige Stätte, die Er für die Christen, für die glaubenden Kinder bereitet hat, damit sie kommen und Ihn an dieser Stätte anbeten. Was kann dieser Ort sein?
E-27 Um das zu belegen, was ich sagen werde, könnten wir die ganze Bibel nehmen. Der Ort, den Er erwählt hat, ist in Christus, in Jesus Christus. ER ist in Ihm, in Seinem Sohn, dem Sohne Gottes: Jesus Christus.
„Nun”, sagt ihr, „ich dachte, die Schriftstelle lautet, dass Er sagte, Er würde den Ort erwählen, und Er würde auch Seinen Namen an dieser Stätte wohnen lassen.”
Nun, der Sohn trägt ja immer den Namen des Vaters. Mein Name ist „Branham”, weil mein Vater „Branham” hieß. Jesus sagte, dass Er im Namen Seines Vaters kam. Joh. 5:43: „ICH bin im Namen Meines Vaters gekommen, doch ihr nehmt Mich nicht an...” Dorthin hat Gott also Seinen Namen gelegt, durch das Opfer Seines eigenen Sohnes. Das ist Gottes einzig bereiteter Ort. Dort können Menschen Gott begegnen: in Christus. Das ist Sein bereiteter Ort. In keiner Denomination, keiner Konfession und nichts anderem hat Gott verheißen, uns zu begegnen. Nur in Jesus wird Er uns begegnen, denn das ist der einzige Ort, wo Sein Name ist.
E-28 Wir lesen, dass Jesus in Joh. 5:43, wenn ich die Schriftstelle weiterlese, auch sagte: „...wenn ein anderer in seinem eigenen Namen kommt, den werdet ihr annehmen.” Wir können einer Konfession beitreten, wir können einer Denomination beitreten, dann nehmt ihr diesen „anderen” an. Doch wenn ihr Jesus angenommen habt, ist es anders. „Wenn ein anderer kommt….
Der sagt: 'Ich bin Methodist.“
„Ich bin Baptist.”
„Ich bin Presbyterianer.”
Den nehmt ihr gerne an.
Aber, ICH aber bin im Namen Meines Vaters gekommen und tue, was der Vater von Mir vorhergesagt hat, und ihr nehmt Mich nicht an.“ ER sprach: „Johannes trat auf, er hatte ein gewaltiges Zeugnis. ICH aber habe ein Zeugnis in Gott, das größer ist als das des Johannes. Denn das, was der Vater Mir zu tun aufgetragen hat, das tue Ich.” - die Worte, die von Ihm geschrieben standen, was Er in jener Zeit sein mußte.
E-29 Sein Name war der Name Gottes.
Gott hat viele Bezeichnungen. „Gott” ist selbst eine Bezeichnung. ER wurde Jehova-Jireh, Jehova-Rapha, Jehova-Nissi genannt. ER wird „Rose Sarons”, „Lilie im Tale” und „heller Morgenstern”, „Alpha und Omega”, „Anfang und Ende” und „Vater”, „Sohn” und „Heiliger Geist” genannt. All dies sind Bezeichnungen. Doch Sein Name, der Name Gottes ist „Jesus Christus”, „der Gesalbte”. Das ist Sein Name. ER hat viele Bezeichnungen, aber nur einen Namen, den einzigen. „Es ist kein anderer Name unter dem Himmel den Menschen gegeben worden, in dem wir gerettet werden sollen.” Wir wissen, dass dies wahr ist.
Ebenso wie die Warnung: „Wenn ein anderer in seinem eigenen Namen kommt”, als Methodist, Baptist, Presbyterianer, Pfingstler usw., „den werdet ihr annehmen.” Mit ihm werdet ihr euch verbinden. Doch Christus wird abgelehnt. Das lehnen sie ab.
E-30 Der Prophet sagte... Lassen Sie uns seinen Namen ein wenig verfolgen. Der Prophet sagte, dass Sein Name 'Immanuel' lauten würde. Es steht in Jesaja, Kapitel 7. In Matth. 1:22 heißt es: „Dies alles ist aber geschehen, damit das Wort erfüllt würde, das der Herr durch den Propheten gesprochen hat, der da sagt: 'Siehe, die Jungfrau wird guter Hoffnung und Mutter eines Sohnes werden, dem man den Namen Immanuel geben wird', das heißt übersetzt: 'Mit uns ist Gott.'”
Immanuel - Gott mit uns. Sein Name war Jesus, wie der Name Seines Vaters. ER kam im Namen Seines Vaters. Dahin hat Gott Seinen Namen gelegt: in Seinen Sohn. Das ist die einzige Stätte, wo ihr Ihn anbeten könnt. Der einzige Ort, wo Gott euch je begegnen wird, ist im Sohn, der durch das Opferlamm versinnbildlicht wurde. Während des gesamten Alten Testaments wurden Schattenbilder von dieser einen Sache gegeben, von dem einzigen Ort, wo Gott uns begegnet: unter dem Opferblut.
Der einzige Ort der Begegnung mit Ihm, der einzige Ort, wo Er uns heute begegnet, ist nicht im Namen einer Konfession oder im Namen einer Denomination, im Namen einer Kirche, im Namen einer Gruppe oder im Namen einer Gesellschaft, sondern im Namen Jesu Christi.
E-31 Das habe ich geprüft, als ich noch ein junger Mann war. Ich hatte oft von Spiritismus gehört, vom Teufel und wie er bestimmte Dinge tut. Ich wußte: Wenn es einen Gott gibt, dann muss es auch einen Teufel geben, weil die Bibel sagt, dass es einen Teufel gibt. Ich hatte von diesen Spiritisten gehört und ging zu einigen von ihnen. Dabei fand ich heraus, dass manche Schwindler waren, dass es damit nichts auf sich hatte und nur großer Betrug war. Doch ich stellte auch fest, dass manche von ihnen echte Spiritisten waren.
Einmal war ich in einer Zeltveranstaltung. Ein Prediger und ich waren dorthin gegangen, um sie zu sehen. Sie hatten den Tisch vom Fußboden hochgehen lassen, über dem Whiskygläser standen. Der Tisch bewegte sich hin und her. Eine Gitarre und Kleidungsstücke der Menschen flogen durch das Gebäude. Sie ließen es im Raum schweben. Das Medium sagte: „Ich fordere jemanden auf, den Tisch herunterzuholen.”
E-32 Zwei Männer meinten: „Wir werden ihn herunterbekommen.” Sie packten die Tischbeine und versuchten ihn festzuhalten. Doch es gelang ihnen nicht. Der Tisch zog sie über den Fußboden.
Sitzt nicht einfach herum. Wenn ihr nie Missionar und auf dem Missionsfeld wart, dann habt ihr nicht mehr als eine Vorstellung vom Teufel. Doch wenn ihr manche Leute anschaut, die draußen auf den Straßen herumlaufen, dann könnt ihr ihn sehen. Es gibt einen Teufel! Bestimmt! Menschen huldigen dem Teufel und wissen gar nicht, was sie tun. Sie huldigen dem Teufel in Kirchen, indem sie Menschengebote, Satzungen und Überlieferungen zu ihren Lehren machen.
Ich sagte…
E-33 Eine Frau rief mir zu: „Man hat mir erzählt, du seiest ein Prediger.”
Ich antwortete: „Das bin ich.”
Sie sagte: „Dann, wenn du nicht ...” Sie fragte: „Was hältst du davon?”
Ich erwiderte: „Das tut der Teufel.”
Sie sagte: „Wenn du soviel Macht hast, dann hole ihn doch herunter.”
Ich antwortete: „Ich habe überhaupt keine Macht. Ich habe keine Macht, doch ich bin als Repräsentant für jemanden hier.”
Ich sprach: „Herr Jesus, Du hast in Markus 16 gesagt: 'In Meinem Namen werden sie Teufel austreiben.' Laß es Deinen Knecht jetzt, wo der Kampf vor mir liegt, erkennen.” Ich sagte: „Ich gebiete, dass der Tisch herunterkommt, im Namen der heiligen Kirche!”
Doch er blieb dort. Dann sagte ich: „Ich gebiete, dass der Tisch herunterfällt im Namen des Vaters, des Sohnes und des Heiligen Geistes!” Er blieb in der Luft hängen. Nun sprach ich: „Ich gebiete, dass der Tisch herunterfällt, im Namen Jesu Christi!” Und es war, als würden alle vier Beine brechen, als er auf dem Boden aufschlug.
E-34 „In Meinem Namen werden sie Teufel austreiben!” Das bezieht sich auf den Namen des Vaters. ER hat Seinen Namen in Jesus hineingelegt. In Ihm begegnet Er dem Anbetenden. In Ihm begegnet Er uns, um Teufel auszutreiben. In Ihm begegnet Er uns, um die Kranken zu heilen. In Ihm begegnet Er uns, um zu retten. In Ihm begegnet Er uns, um zu retten und mit dem Heiligen Geist zu erfüllen. Es ist die einzige Stätte, wo Gott den Menschen bei der Anbetung begegnet.
Wir haben festgestellt, was Jesus noch sagte. Das Wort Jesus, bedeutet „Jehova-Retter”, Jehova, der Retter.
E-35 Denkt daran, in Vers 5 steht: „Du darfst das Passah nicht in irgendeinem deiner Tore schlachten, die der Herr, dein Gott, dir gibt.” Ihr sollt Ihn nicht in irgendeinem Tor anbeten. Das sagt Gott hier im 5. Vers von 5. Moses 16. „Du darfst Ihn nicht in irgendeinem deiner Tore anbeten, das der Herr, dein Gott dir gibt.”
ER gibt euch diese Dinge zur Versuchung. Wir werden in dieser Woche noch näher darauf eingehen, so der Herr will, und sehen, ob Gott Sein Wort zurücknimmt oder nicht.
Beachtet: ER gibt euch diese Tore, aber betet den Herrn nicht in irgendeinem der Tore an, denn der Herr, dein Gott, wird dir dort nicht begegnen. Gott der Herr hat die Pforte gewählt. ER hat die Tür ausgewählt. Jesus sagte in Johannes 19: „ICH bin die Tür zu den Schafen. ICH bin diese Tür.” ER ist Jehova-Retter.
E-36 Wir könnten stundenlang fortfahren, es zu erklären. Doch ich bin sicher, dass ihr es versteht. Ich entnehme es eurer Reaktion, dass ihr die Wahrheit und das Wort annehmt. Deshalb werden wir uns nicht weiter damit befassen.
Ihr könnt es überall sehen, wenn ihr wollt. Jede Stelle, die ihr aufschlagt, wird mit dem Rest der Bibel übereinstimmen, wenn es die Wahrheit ist. Ihr könnt die Bibel nicht an einer Stelle etwas und an einer anderen etwas anderes sagen lassen, das im Gegensatz zu dem steht, was Er zuerst gesagt hat. Es muss immer das gleiche sein.
E-37 Ich lasse viele Schriftstellen aus, weil ich sehe, dass es schon spät wird. Unsere Schwester und die anderen haben heute Abend ja einen Gottesdienst, und wir möchten für die Kranken beten. Stelle doch fest, Billy, ob sie Gebetskarten erhalten haben.
[Jemand sagt: „Heute Abend ist kein Gottesdienst.” - Verf.] Kein Gottesdienst. Gut. In Ordnung. Alles andere wird sich finden. Wir glauben fest, dass der Herr diese Dame dafür segnet, dass sie uns dieses Gebäude zur Verfügung gestellt und die Zeit eingeräumt hat.
E-38 Es gibt so viele unfehlbare Beweise, dass Jesus dieser Ort ist. ER ist die Tür; Er ist der Name und der einzige Weg, den Gott dem Menschen gegeben hat, um Ihm in Anbetung zu begegnen. ER ist der Weg, die Wahrheit, das Leben, die Pforte, die Tür, Alpha und Omega, der Anfang und das Ende, die Rose Sarons, die Lilie im Tale, der Morgenstern, Alpha und Omega; Er ist alles, all das zusammen. ER ist beides: die Wurzel und der Sproß Davids; der helle Morgenstern. In Ihm wohnt die Fülle der Gottheit leibhaftig, und wir sind darin als Söhne und Töchter Gottes eingeschlossen - in der Gottheit Gottes. Ja, als Söhne und Töchter gehören wir zur Familie; wenn ihr euch darin befindet.
E-39 Wie kommen wir nun in diese große Stätte hinein, um anzubeten? Das ist die nächste Frage. Wie kommen wir in diesen Ort hinein, wenn Jesus diese Stätte ist? ER ist der Name Gottes; Er ist die Stätte der Anbetung Gottes. ER ist die einzige Tür zu den Schafen. Wir möchten herausfinden, wie wir in Ihn hineinkommen.
Wenn ihr zur Tür hereinkommt, dann kommt ihr natürlich wie jemand herein, der zur Familie gehört. Wir haben ja bereits vor einigen Tagen bei dem Frühstück über die kleinen Schafe gesprochen und dass Gott die Tür nicht schließt, bis Er das letzte Schaf gefunden und hereingebracht hat. Wenn ihr hereingekommen seid, dann gehört ihr zur Familie. Ihr gehört zur Familie Gottes, wenn ihr in Gott hineingekommen seid. Doch ihr könnt nicht Familie Gottes und Presbyterianer, Methodist, Baptist oder Pfingstler sein. Das geht nicht. Ihr müßt in Jesus Christus hineinkommen.
„Nun”, sagt ihr, „das sind wir.”
Wir werden sehen, ob ihr es wirklich seid.
E-40 Wir wollen nun feststellen, was die Bibel sagt.
In 1. Kor. 12 sagt die Bibel: „Durch einen Geist sind wir alle zu einem Leibe getauft worden.” Durch den einen Heiligen Geist sind wir in den Leib Christi hineingetauft worden. Wir sind nicht durch einen Händedruck, durch Beitritt oder durch die Wassertaufe hineingekommen, sondern wir sind mit dem Heiligen Geist in den Leib Jesu Christi hineingetauft worden.
Für wie lange gilt es, wenn ihr dort hineingekommen seid? Bis ihr euch schlecht benehmt? Eph. 4:30 sagt: „Betrübt nicht den Heiligen Geist, mit dem ihr auf den Tag der Erlösung versiegelt seid.” Setzt euch mit Ihm auseinander, nicht mit mir. Es steht so geschrieben. Ich habe es nur vorgelesen. Nun gut. Ihr seid bis zum Tage eurer Erlösung versiegelt, bis zu dem Tag, an dem Jesus euch heimholt.
Denkt darüber nach.
E-41 Dann seid ihr nicht mehr ihr selbst, sondern eine neue Kreatur. Das griechische Wort dort bedeutet „eine neue Schöpfung”. Ihr seid wieder neu geschaffen worden. Die Kraft Gottes kommt auf euch, und ihr werdet zu einer neuen Kreatur, wodurch der ganze Leib, der Geist und alles andere dem Worte Gottes unterordnet wird; nichts anderes.
Wie könnt ihr behaupten, Christ zu sein, und Sein Wort in einem Punkt nicht befolgen? Wer einen Teil des Gesetzes brach, machte sich am ganzen schuldig, wer immer es auch sein mochte. Jesus sagte: „Der Mensch lebt nicht vom Brot allein, sondern von jedem Wort, das aus dem Mund Gottes ergeht.” Nicht nur von einem Teil der Worte, sondern von jedem Wort! Das sagte Er auch in Offenbarung 22: „Wenn jemand etwas von den Worten dieses Buches wegnimmt oder etwas hinzufügt, so wird Gott ihm seinen Anteil vom Baum des Lebens wegnehmen.” Wir dürfen von der Bibel nichts wegnehmen oder etwas hinzufügen. Sagt nur, was sie sagt.
E-42 In 1. Kor. 12 steht: „Durch einen Geist sind wir alle zu einem Leibe getauft worden.” Sobald ihr in diesem Leibe seid, gilt Röm. 8:1, „So gibt es also jetzt keine Verdammnis mehr für die, welche in Christus Jesus sind... die wir nicht nach dem Fleisch wandeln, sondern nach dem Geist.” Das ist die Stätte, wo es keine Verdammnis gibt. Ob ihr zu einer Methodisten-, Baptisten- oder Presbyterianergemeinde geht, wohin auch immer, wenn ihr in Christus seid, dann seid ihr eine neue Schöpfung, und es ist keine Verdammnis in euch; überhaupt nirgends. Das ist der Ort der Begegnung mit Gott. Dort begegnet Gott dem Anbetenden. Dort werdet ihr als neue Schöpfung betrachtet, denn ihr seid den Dingen der Welt gegenüber tot. Ihr seid in Ihm lebendig. Die lebendige Gegenwart Gottes ist Tag für Tag mit ihnen. In jedem Zeitalter lebt Er in ihnen. Die ganze Bibel hindurch machte Gott in jedem Zeitalter, das war, einen Menschen zu einer neuen Schöpfung, für den es keine Verdammnis gab, und zwar, wenn er den Forderungen Gottes nachkam, die Er in Seinem geschriebenen Wort für jenen Tag bestimmt hatte. Betrachtet Hiob.
Es muss ohrenbetäubend für euch sein, wie ich ins Mikrophon hineinspreche. Es tut mir leid. Ich weiß, dass es einen Widerhall gibt. Ich höre es selbst.
Aber schau, Hiob… Seht, ganz gleich, wie viele Menschen Hiob verurteilen wollten, wie viele sagten, er wäre im Unrecht - durch das Brandopfer hielt er das Gebot Gottes. Er wußte, dass er gerechtfertigt war, weil er die Gebote Gottes hielt. Dadurch war er gerechtfertigt, denn er tat die Dinge, die Gott von ihm verlangte.
E-43 Die lebendige Gegenwart Gottes erleuchtet jeden Tag und führt aus dem Tod von Glaubensbekenntnissen zum Leben und zu dem Wort des Tages.
Gott hat Dinge, die Er tut. Es ist so, wie ich vor einigen Tagen bei dem Frühstück von der kleinen Blume sagte. Sobald eine Saat ans Licht kommt, beginnt sie zu wachsen. Sie trinkt von der Quelle Gottes und dringt immer weiter vorwärts, bis die Knospe erscheint und die Blüte hervorkommt. Wir stellen fest, dass unser Wachstum genauso vor sich geht, sobald wir unseren Anfang mit Christus machen. Wir wachsen durch die Gnade und die Belehrung Gottes.
E-44 Gottes einziger festgelegter Plan für jedes Zeitalter ist Sein Wort. Sein Sohn kam und verwirklichte jede Verheißung, die für Sein Zeitalter vorausgesagt war. Alle Propheten traten genau zur rechten Zeit auf. Sie waren Gottes Wort, das auf Erden lebte. Sie waren das Wort. Jesus sagte, dass sie Götter waren. Jesus nannte die Propheten „Götter”.
Ein Mann kam nach der letzten Versammlung, die ich hatte, zu mir und sagte: „Sie sind ein schlechter Theologe.”
Ich sagte: „Ich behaupte gar nicht, dass ich einer bin.” und fuhr fort: „Das Wort ergeht doch nicht an einen Theologen; wohl aber Theologie.” Das Wort ergeht an einen Propheten. Ich fuhr fort: „Nur Theologie kommt zu einem Theologen. Doch wir sprechen von etwas anderem.”
E-45 Jetzt sehen wir, dass in jedem Zeitalter, wenn Gott sagte, dass etwas Bestimmtes geschehen würde, ein Mann auftrat, der es erfüllte. Es gab Menschen, die es auslebten. Es war Gott selbst, der in den Menschen lebte, denn es war die Erfüllung Seines Wortes. Gottes einziger festgelegter Plan aufgrund Seines Wortes für dieses Zeitalter, das durch den Geist des Lebens lebendig gemacht wurde, ist Sein Sohn.
E-46 Wir haben große Schulen der Theologie. Ich habe nichts dagegen, gewiß nicht. Doch seht, was oft ist, wenn wir eine Theologieschule haben. Jesus sagte in Johannes 4, dass die Zeit kommen würde, ja dass sie schon da sei, in der Gott, der ja Geist ist, im Geist und in der Wahrheit angebetet wird. Manche Menschen haben den Geist, aber nicht die Wahrheit. Andere haben die Wahrheit, aber nicht den Geist.
Es ist, als hätten wir ein großes Auto, einen Cadillac, mit dem wir irgendwohin fahren wollten. Wir könnten zwei Cadillacs, die ganz gleich sind, nach draußen schieben und mit Benzin volltanken. Den einen versucht ihr nun vergeblich zu starten. Dann könntet ihr alles betrachten und sagen: „Die Sitze sind in Ordnung. Das Steuerrad ist schön; es ist mit Diamanten verziert. Alles ist schön mit Plüsch ausgelegt.” Dann lehnt ihr euch zurück und schlaft ein. Oh, mit jedem Wagen könntet ihr eine Menge tun. Bei beiden stimmt die Mechanik, doch nur einer hat die Dynamik. Seht, vielleicht wißt ihr mit der Mechanik Bescheid, doch es bedarf der Dynamik, um die Mechanik anzulassen, so dass sie funktioniert.
E-47 Das ist heute mit der Gemeinde der Fall. Wir sind voller Theologie, ohne dass Dynamik darin ist. Mit anderen Worten: Der Funke muss den Treibstoff erreichen, sonst ist das Benzin nichts weiter als eine Flüssigkeit. Es ist sogar noch weniger wert als Wasser, wenn der Funke nicht da ist, um es zu zünden. So ist es.
Es spielt keine Rolle, wie gut wir belehrt wurden, wie wir glauben, wieviel von der Bibel wir für wahr halten, oder ob wir glauben, dass alles darin wahr ist - die Dynamik, der Funke, muss da sein, damit das Wort entzündet wird und zu wirken beginnt. Das ist nötig. Wenn sie fehlt, steht die Gemeinde still; steht das Auto still, steht ihr still. Es nützt nichts, wenn ihr sagt: „Ich stimme damit überein. Ich glaube jedes Wort davon.” Ihr braucht etwas, um es zu entfachen, um diese hundert Oktan zu zünden, damit die große Gemeinde Gottes in Bewegung kommt. Sie benötigt die Dynamik zusammen mit der Mechanik. Mit der Mechanik ist alles in Ordnung. Was fehlt, ist die Dynamik.
Ich meine, da stimmt es mit der Gemeinde heute nicht. Uns fehlt die dynamische Kraft, dieses Wort zu nehmen und es für diesen Tag lebendig zu machen.
E-48 Martin Luther hatte die Mechanik und die Dynamik in seiner Zeit. John Wesley hatte sie in seiner Zeit; die Pfingstler hatten sie in ihrer Zeit. Wie steht es mit unserer Zeit? Dies ist eine andere Zeit. Die Gemeinde sollte nun das volle Wachstum erreicht haben und bereit sein, Christus zu begegnen. Jeder Segen, den Er in der Bibel verheißen hat, sollte offenbar werden und in dem einen großen Leibe wirksam sein, wo Er gemäß Seiner Verheißung dem Volk begegnen und angebetet werden will: in Seiner großen Gemeinde.
E-49 Wir aber schicken unsere Kinder zur Schule. Wir lernen Lesen, Schreiben, Arithmetik, die ganze Geschichte der Propheten und alles mögliche. Das ist in Ordnung. Doch ihr benötigt etwas, das darüber hinausgeht. „Oh,” sagt ihr, „ich habe gejauchzt. Ich sprach in Zungen.” Das ist gut. Ich glaube auch daran. Doch es ist noch nicht das, wovon ich spreche. Du sagte: „Plank, plank, boomp, boomp” wie ein altes Auto, das nur „stottert”, wenn man es zu starten versucht, wenn ihr sagt: „Ja, ich glaube dies. Das glaube ich auch. Wenn es aber diese Zeit betrifft, o nein, dann nicht.”
Mit hundert Oktan und dem entsprechenden Antrieb dahinter wird jede Verheißung des Wortes Gottes entzündet. Das ist wahr.
E-50 Da stimmt es mit uns heute nicht. Wir sind fast zum Stillstand gekommen. Wir möchten das glauben und jenes glauben.
Ich sage etwas, und dann heißt es ungefähr so: „Nun, ich weiß nicht...” Die Bibel sagt es doch! Damit ist es erledigt. Wenn Gott es so gesagt hat, dann ist es da, um zu geschehen. Wenn Gott es sagte, müssen wir es tun. Bleibt solange, bis Gott es entzündet, und schon könnt ihr wieder losfahren. Tut ihr es nicht, dann verrußen die Kerzen. Wir brauchen also etwas anderes, etwas, das uns entzündet.
E-51 Beachtet, Er dringt nicht nur durch den Heiligen Geist ein, indem Er uns Sein Wort lehrt, Er verwirklicht das Wort auch. Denkt daran, die Propheten glaubten das Wort. Sie empfingen das Wort Gottes, und Gott, der Heilige Geist, kam in sie hinein, entzündete die Verheißung und bewirkte, dass sie sich erfüllte. Wer will das verurteilen? Jesus sagte: „Wer kann Mich einer Sünde überführen? Sünde ist Unglaube. Von allem, was Gott schreiben ließ und die Propheten sagten, bin Ich die Erfüllung. Was sie von Mir vorhergesagt haben, das tue Ich.” ER kam als ein Prophet, als der Menschensohn. Genau das sollte Er sein, und das bewies Er auch. Das war Er.
Weshalb? Weil die Dynamik da war, um die Mechanik anzutreiben. Der Sohn selbst war die Mechanik, der Vater war die Dynamik. ER sprach: „Nicht Ich tue diese Werke, sondern Mein Vater, der in Mir wohnt. ER versprüht die Dynamik und läßt die Sache vor sich gehen. ER erfüllt es.”
E-52 „Wann habe ich jemals etwas gesagt....”
Samuel sagte einmal zum Volk: „Habe ich euch jemals etwas im Namen des Herrn gesagt, das nicht eingetroffen ist?” „Wann habe ich es je gesagt und wann ist es nicht geschehen?”
„Oh, was du uns sagtest, hat sich erfüllt. Trotzdem wollen wir einen König.”
Genauso ist es heute. Die Menschen wollen an ihren engstirnigen Ansichten festhalten. Sie möchten an ihren Glaubensbekenntnissen festhalten. Sie wollen sie nicht aufgeben. Doch man spricht über eine Erweckung in unserer Zeit. Wie können wir eine Erweckung haben, wenn sich alles in einem solchen Durcheinander befindet: wäßriges Benzin mit allem möglichen darin, mit allen Arten von Reinigungsmitteln und modernen Dingen vermischt?
E-53 Einmal ging ich die Straße entlang. Dort war eine Reklame über eines dieser modernen Spülmittel. Sie lautete: „Sie brauchen das Geschirr nicht mehr abzuwaschen. Alles, was Sie tun müssen, ist: es hineinzutauchen und wieder herauszunehmen.”
Ich dachte: „Ich werde der Held in meinem Haus sein. Ich gehe und hole mir eine Packung von diesem Mittel.” Dann sagte ich zu meiner Frau: „Du kannst etwas anderes tun, Liebling. Ich werde das Geschirr spülen.” Ich dachte: „Die Wissenschaftler wissen schon, wovon sie sprechen. Ich werde ihr zeigen, wie das geht, bis sie dahinterkommt, was ich mache. Man braucht es nur hineinzutauchen und wieder herauszunehmen.”
Die Kinder hatten Eier zum Frühstück gegessen. Ich goß das Spülmittel hinein, tauchte das Geschirr ein, nahm es heraus, tauchte es ein, nahm es heraus: die Eireste waren immer noch daran. Jawohl! Ich glaube nichts mehr, was ich im Fernsehen höre. Nein, ganz bestimmt nicht.
Deshalb glaube ich auch nicht, dass irgendein menschliches System Bestand haben kann. Gott hat einen festgelegten Weg. Es sind nicht die Methodisten, Baptisten oder Presbyterianer, sondern es ist Jesus Christus. Es geschieht durch die Wiedergeburt und den Glauben an die Bibel. Das ist Gottes vorbereiteter Weg. Der einzige Weg, den Er hat, ist in Jesus Christus, Seinem Sohn. In Seinen Sohn hat Er Seinen Namen gelegt. Seinen! Der Name Gottes ist „Jesus”, denn Er kam im Namen Seines Vaters. Deshalb muss es der Name Gottes sein, denn Er war Gott.
E-54 Beachtet, wenn diese gewaltige Antriebskraft Gottes in einen Sohn Gottes hineinkommt, macht sie Ihn lebendig. Der Geist des Lebens kommt in ihn hinein. Was geschieht dann? Es versetzt ihn in himmlische Örter, und zwar sofort. Es wird nicht erst sein, wir sind es jetzt. Wir sind bereits auferstanden, die Dynamik und die Mechanik haben zu wirken begonnen, um uns lebendig zu machen. Wir werden lebendig gemacht und in die Gegenwart Gottes erhoben, wo Sein Geist ist. Wir sitzen jetzt in Christus Jesus in himmlischen Örtern zusammen.
In Christus, dem großen Sitz, der bereits entzündet wurde und von den Toten auferstanden ist, befinden wir uns dort. Wir sind ein Teil davon. Das seid ihr, wenn ihr ein Teil der Braut seid, denn die Braut ist ein Teil des Bräutigams. Das wißt ihr. Wir stellen also fest, dass es das gleiche ist. Sie wird genau das tun, was von ihr für diese Zeit vorausgesagt ist. Sie wird nicht so sein wie die zu Laodizea. Keinesfalls wird sie lau sein, sondern feurig für Gott wird sie im Geiste Gottes vorwärtsgehen.
E-55 Wir betrachten das, damit wir es begreifen. Zu dem Zeitpunkt, in dem wir es erfassen, werden wir, die wir einst tot waren in Sünden und Übertretungen, Seinem Wort für dieses Zeitalter gegenüber lebendig gemacht.
Bevor wir für die Kranken beten, wollen wir über einige nachdenken, die in alten Zeiten durch Sein Wort lebendig gemacht wurden.
Wir wollen ein paar Persönlichkeiten betrachten und uns ihre charakteristischen Merkmale ansehen.
E-56 Zunächst befassen wir uns mit einem Mann aus dem Alten Testament, der das ganze Wort Gottes hielt. Sein Name war Henoch. Er wurde durch das Wort Gottes so lebendig gemacht, dass er das Zeugnis erhielt, Gottes Wohlgefallen zu besitzen. Es gab nicht ein Gebot Gottes an Henoch, das er nicht befolgt hätte. Ich frage mich, wie viele Henochs heute nachmittag hier sind, die es ebenfalls tun, wenn sie wissen, dass es im Worte Gottes steht. Wie viele von euch Frauen mit kurzgeschnittenem Haar könnten sich mit Henoch vergleichen, obwohl ihr wißt, dass Gott es verurteilt? Wie viele von euch Männern, die ihr den Frauen das gestattet, könnten sich mit Henoch vergleichen? Oh, das ist nur eine Sache. Wie steht es mit den anderen Tausenden?
Doch man verdrängt es und sagt: „Ich gehöre hierzu. Ich gehöre dazu.” Ihr mögt dazugehören, bis ihr in den vorbereiteten Ort Gottes kommt. Dort könnt ihr nicht hineinkommen, es sei denn, ihr werdet ein Teil des Wortes. Wenn ihr ein Teil davon seid, werdet ihr zum ganzen, und ihr unterordnet euch dem ganzen Wort. Beachtet, wir haben hier die Bibel, die das „Wort Gottes” genannt wird, und es ist auch das Wort Gottes.
E-57 Wir stellen fest, dass Henoch den von Gott festgelegten Weg Seines Wortes ging und dreihundert Jahre wohlgefällig vor Ihm wandelte. Die Mechanik in ihm war so vollkommen, dass ihn die Dynamik, als sie im Motor zu wirken begann, von der Erde nahm. Er nahm den ersten Flug zum Himmel. Weil die Mechanik und die Dynamik Gottes zusammenwirkten, „war er plötzlich nicht mehr da”, denn Gott nahm ihn von der Erde hinweg, ohne dass er den Tod sah. Das stimmt genau. Er wandelte auf dem festgelegten Weg Gottes.
E-58 Das gleiche sehen wir bei Elia. Der alte Elia hatte so oft die Schminke und die Frisur Isebels getadelt, die man zu jener Zeit trug. Der alte Mann hatte sein Leben damit verbracht, die Sünde bei den Frauen zu verurteilen, denn sie hatten dort eine Frau, Isebel, welche die Richtung bestimmte. Es war etwa so wie mit eurem Hollywood hier, von dem sich alle Schwestern „einwickeln” haben lassen. Jene Isebel lebt noch immer. Wenn ihr euch umschaut, könnt ihr sehen, dass dem so ist. Sie hat auch noch immer große Macht.
E-59 Weil der alte Mann ein Prophet war, hatte er all das verflucht. Er blieb vollkommen im Willen Gottes. Als alle anderen Prediger nachgaben, hielt er dennoch daran fest. Eines Tages wurde er so müde. Da sandte Gott einen Wagen mit feurigen Rossen vom Himmel und nahm ihn hinauf. Er war so erfüllt mit dieser lebendigmachenden Kraft. Denkt nur: mit dem Wort Gottes in seinem Herzen wurde er so erfüllt mit dieser lebendigmachenden Kraft, dass sie ihn belebte.
Wenn der Geist Gottes ... Ich glaube, wir finden in Römer 11 oder 1:11: „Wenn”, heißt es, „der Geist ....” In Römer 8:11 steht: „Wenn der Geist dessen, der Jesus von den Toten auferweckt hat, in euch wohnt, so wird Er auch eure sterblichen Leiber lebendig machen.” Wenn der Geist, der Jesus von den Toten auferweckt hat, in euch ist, wird Er auch eure sterblichen Leiber lebendig machen.
Lebendig gemacht! Was bedeutet das Wort „lebendig machen”? Das griechische Wort bedeutet: nach dem Tode zum Leben hervorgebracht werden. Halleluja! Das ist das Tor der Anbetung, der Anbetung im Geist und in der Wahrheit, die Mechanik und die Dynamik zusammen. Seht ihr, was ich meine? Wenn der Geist, der Jesus von den Toten auferweckt hat, in euch wohnt, so wird Er auch eure sterblichen Leiber beleben, lebendig machen, denn Er ist ja das Leben. Wenn Er in euren Leib kommt, macht Er sich euren ganzen Leib Untertan. Wem Untertan? Dem Worte Gottes. Wenn Er in euch ist!
E-60 Wenn es jedoch etwas anderes ist, dann sagt ihr: „Das war in früheren Zeiten. Markus 16 ist nicht wahr, und auch diese pfingstliche Idee mit der Taufe des Heiligen Geistes nicht.” Das ist nicht der Geist Gottes in euch. Es spielt keine Rolle, wie gelehrt ihr seid, das ist nicht der Geist Gottes.
Ihr sagt: „Meine Mutter und mein Vater gehörten jahrelang dazu, und mein Bruder ebenfalls.” Was immer ihr von euren Verwandten sagt, mag alles auf sie zutreffen. Doch das hat nichts mit euch zu tun. Ihr müßt in dieser Zeit in Jesus Christus hineinkommen und dieses Zeitalter und die Verheißung erkennen, die für dieses Zeitalter bestimmt ist.
E-61 Wir stellen fest, dass diese gewaltige lebendigmachende Kraft über Henoch kam. Sie belebte ihn, und er ging nach Hause, ohne dass er starb. Sie kam über Elia und machte ihn lebendig, so dass auch er nach Hause ging, ohne zu sterben. Wir finden heraus, dass sein Nachfolger Elischa war, der ein Typus von Christus und der Gemeinde war. Elischa ... Elijah hat vier Wunder vollbracht, und Elisa hat acht Wunder vollbracht.
Er hatte eine doppelte Portion, wie es auch auf die Gemeinde ausgegossen wurde. Später warfen sie einen Verstorbenen in sein Grab auf seine Gebeine, und der Mann wurde wieder lebendig. Die lebendigmachende Kraft war noch im Grab auf ihm! Wenn ihr diese lebendigmachende Kraft empfangt und mit Ihm lebendig gemacht worden seid, ist sie immer da.
E-62 Denkt daran, in Christus sind wir Fleisch von Seinem Fleisch und Gebein von Seinem Gebein. Als Gott Christus auf Golgatha verwunden ließ, wurde Er für mich und für dich verwundet. Wir sind Fleisch von Seinem Fleisch und Gebein von Seinem Gebein, Leib von Seinem Leib. Wir tragen Seinen Namen und sind Seine Braut. Wir sind in Ihm, wir sind Sein Fleisch und Sein Gebein.
Gott hat uns bereits teilweise auferweckt. Die lebendigmachende Kraft, die uns aus einem sündigen Leben zum Leben erweckte und unser Wesen veränderte, hat uns schon teilweise in Christus Jesus auferweckt. In der Auferstehung werden wir in der vollen Reife hervorkommen.
E-63 Denkt daran, wir starben und wurden in unserem eigenen Namen begraben und sind in Seinem Namen auferstanden. Wir leben nicht mehr uns selbst. Es geht um diesen gewaltigen Namen „Jesus Christus”, von dem die Bibel in Eph. 3:15 sagt, dass von Ihm jede Vaterschaft, die es im Himmel und auf Erden gibt, ihren Namen trägt. Dorthin hat Gott Seinen Namen gelegt. Das ist der Name der Familie im Himmel und auf Erden.
Durch die geistliche, nicht durch die Wassertaufe, sind wir in Christus. Durch den Geist sind wir zu einem Leibe getauft worden, welcher Christus ist, die Anbetungsstätte. Wenn wir darin sind, befinden wir uns wirklich auf diesem Grund.
Auf diesem Grund ist es wie ein Grundbuchauszug Tat.
E-64 Ihr sagt: „Ich habe ein Grundstück gekauft.” Es gehört euch aber erst, wenn ihr den Grundbuchauszug bekommen habt. Aus dem Auszug, den ihr erhaltet, geht hervor, dass alles, womit das Grundstück belastet war, gelöscht worden ist. Wenn ihr Christ werdet, also Christus als euren Erlöser annehmt, dann sendet Gott den Grundbuchauszug herab. Daraus geht hervor, dass alles, was euer Vater, eure Mutter oder jemand anders getan hat, selbst wenn euer Vater und eure Mutter ein Trinker bzw. eine Dirne, oder was auch immer, war, dass jede Sünde getilgt ist. Ihr habt den Grundbuchauszug. Nichts kann es euch wieder nehmen. Alles, was auf dem Grund und Boden ist, gehört euch. Amen. Wenn ihr aufgrund der Taufe des Heiligen Geistes in Christus seid, dann gehört der Gemeinde jede Gabe Gottes. Amen.
Und wenn du durch die Taufe des Heiligen Geistes in Christus Jesus bist, gehört jede Gabe Gottes in die Gemeinde. Es ist eine abstrakte Titelurkunde. Du .... Es gehört dir. Es gehört dir. Es beschleunigt deine sterblichen Körper. Oh, mein, wenn wir darüber nachdenken würden!
E-65 Jetzt wollen wir uns jene Treuen zu Pfingsten betrachten. Sie waren alle im Obersaal versammelt und fürchteten sich. Zwar hatten sie bereits die Eigentumsurkunde, aber sie hatten Angst. „Da entstand plötzlich ein Brausen vom Himmel her,” jetzt wurde ihnen der „Grundbuchauszug” gesandt, „...wie wenn ein gewaltiger Wind daherfährt, und erfüllte das ganze Haus, in welchem sie weilten.” Dadurch wurden sie so lebendig gemacht, dass ihre ganze Feigheit verschwand. Einer von ihnen fürchtete sich dermaßen, dass er sogar leugnete. Er war weder Pharisäer noch Sadduzäer. Doch als der Heilige Geist fiel und ihn in Jesus Christus hineintaufte, wurde er Fleisch von Seinem Fleisch und Gebein von Seinem Gebein, Wort von Seinem Wort. Er war eine neue Schöpfung. Er war ein neuer Mensch. Sein Leib wurde lebendig gemacht.
E-66 Seht, welch eine Auswirkung es hatte, damit ihr wißt, wie es sein wird, wenn es euch zuteil wird. Es veranlaßt euch nicht, hinauszugehen und zu sagen: „Ich bin Methodist.”
„Ich bin Baptist.”
„Ich weiß, dass ich nicht rauchen sollte.”
„Ich dürfte auch das nicht mehr an mir haben.”
„Auch solche Kleidung sollte ich nicht mehr tragen.”
„Dies dürfte ich eigentlich nicht mehr tun, und jenes auch nicht.”
Es macht euch so lebendig, dass ihr einfach das Richtige tun müßt. Es belebt eure sterblichen Leiber.
Seht, ihre Leiber wurden lebendig gemacht. Es brachte sie dem Himmel so nahe und belebte ihre Leiber so sehr, dass sie in Sprachen reden konnten, die sie noch nie vorher gehört hatten. Ihre Leiber wurden so belebt, dass sie in einer neuen, himmlischen Sprache redeten. Die Taufe des Heiligen Geistes belebte sie und brachte sie in die Gegenwart Gottes. Gottes lebendigmachende Kraft taufte sie da hinein. Nun befanden sie sich an der Anbetungsstätte. Sie waren dort, wo sie anbeten konnten. Weder der Hohe Rat noch etwas anderes konnte ihnen Angst machen, denn sie waren lebendig gemacht worden. Sie waren neue Menschen nach dieser Taufe.
E-67 Seht euch Stephanus an. Er trat in den festgelegten Weg Gottes und wurde durch die Kraft Gottes lebendig gemacht. Er kam in das Tor, den bereiteten Weg Gottes. Als sie dann im Begriff waren, ihn zu töten, indem sie ihn steinigten, rief er aus: „Ich sehe die Himmel aufgetan und Jesus zur Rechten Gottes stehen.” Das ist lebendigmachende Kraft! Er wurde bis in Seine Gegenwart lebendig gemacht.
Philippus war auch einer, der voll der lebendigmachenden Kraft war. Wir finden ihn in Samarien, mitten in einer großen Erweckung. Diese gewaltige, lebendigmachende Kraft, die er besaß, weil Er in Christus war, begann zu wirken, während Tausende ihm zuhörten. ER sprach: „Mache dich auf, Philippus, Ich möchte, dass du in die Wüste gen Gaza gehst. Dort habe Ich einen Mann, dem du begegnen sollst.” Es gab keine Frage; überhaupt keine Frage. Er war voll der lebendigmachenden Kraft. Er war in Christus. Er war in dem bestimmten Ort, wo Gott zu ihm sprechen konnte. Gott sprach zu ihm. Es gab keine Frage.
E-68 Man sagt: „ER sprach zu mir und sagte, dass ich geheilt werde. Aber, ich weiß nicht, ich fühle mich heute besonders schlecht.” Oh! Es heißt: „ER hat mir gesagt, dass ich den Heiligen Geist habe, doch manchmal bezweifle ich es wirklich.”
Philippus kannte die Stimme Gottes genau, denn er war auf dem festgelegten Weg Gottes gekommen. Er stellte das, was Gott sagte, nicht in Frage, indem er sprach: „O Gott, es sind so viele hier. Ich muss bleiben. Ich muss erst den Bezirksvorsteher fragen, bevor ich es tun kann. Ich muss erst mit dem Bischof sprechen.” Nichts dergleichen! Er hörte auf Gott und ging sofort in die Wüste hinaus.
Dort begegnete er einem Mann, einem Hofbeamten, einem Äthiopier, einem Farbigen, der dort entlangkam und im Propheten Jesaja las. Er fragte ihn: „Verstehst du auch, was du liest?”
Jener antwortete: „Wie sollte ich das können, wenn mir niemand Anleitung gibt?” Philippus stieg auf den Wagen und begann mit ihm über den Herrn zu sprechen.
Da sprach jener: „Hier ist ja Wasser! Was steht meiner Taufe noch im Wege?”
Er antwortete: „Wenn du von ganzem Herzen, mit deiner ganzen Seele, mit allem, was in dir ist, und all deiner Kraft glaubst.” Sie stiegen vom Wagen, und er taufte ihn.
Philippus war so voll dieser lebendigmachenden Kraft, dass der Herr ihn wegnahm und jener ihn nicht mehr sah. Denkt nur: In seinem sterblichen, in seinem physischen Leibe wurde er hinweggenommen, so dass der Hofbeamte ihn nicht mehr sah! Ich glaube, dass dies wahr ist. Gott hat ihn irgendwohin versetzen können, wo Er ihn brauchte. Er wurde hinweggenommen.
E-69 Wißt ihr, nicht einmal der Tod kann das von euch nehmen, wenn ihr in Christus, dem Ort Gottes, seid.
Seht, auch Moses hatte es. Er war ein Prophet, an den das Wort des Herrn erging. Viele standen wie Korah auf und sagten: „Wir brauchen eine große Organisation. Du versuchst den Anspruch zu stellen, dass du der einzige heilige Mann bist.”
Gott sprach: „Sondere dich von ihnen ab, Ich werde sie verschlingen.” Ein Dathan und all die anderen konnten ihn nicht hindern; er ging vorwärts. Als Moses starb, wurde er von Engeln beerdigt. Die lebendigmachende Kraft jedoch blieb auf ihm, denn achthundert Jahre später war er im verheißenen Land und sprach mit Jesus. Die lebendigmachende Kraft war immer noch auf ihm. Es ist die Anbetungsstätte Gottes. Jetzt fragt ihr: „Was sagst du da? Wie weißt du das?” Er war ein Prophet. Das Wort erging an den Propheten. Er war das offenbar gewordene Wort Gottes für sein Zeitalter. Amen.
E-70 Seht, ihr könnt nicht sterben, denn ihr seid bereits lebendig gemacht worden. Oh, wenn die Gemeinde nur begreifen könnte, dass ihr es nicht erst sein werdet, sondern bereits seid! Der Teufel versucht euch das nur zu rauben. Es heißt: „Ich werde dir jetzt etwas sagen: Ich gehöre dazu!” Ich gebe nichts darum, wozu ihr gehört. Ihr müßt wiedergeboren, erneuert, mit dem Heiligen Geist in Jesus Christus hineingetauft und jedem Wort gegenüber lebendig gemacht werden. Der Geist in euch wird jedes Wort der Bibel mit einem „Amen” bekräftigen. Wenn es nicht so ist und ihr euren Kopf bei einem Wort schüttelt, dann sorgt dafür, dass ihr diesen Geist loswerdet, denn es ist nicht der Geist Gottes, der am Worte Gottes zweifelt. ER hält das Wort Gottes. ER glaubt es nicht nur, Er macht es auch lebendig. ER verwirklicht das Wort Gottes. Jawohl!
E-71 Beachtet auch die Heiligen des Alten Testaments. Schon unter dem alten Opfer warteten sie auf das neue, das kommen würde, und hatten ein gutes Gewissen vor Gott. In Matthäus 27 wird uns berichtet, was geschah, als Jesus auferstand und aus dem Grab hervorkam. Wir haben ja erst vor einigen Wochen Ostern gefeiert. Die Bibel sagt: „Die Gräber taten sich auf, und viele Leiber der entschlafenen Heiligen wurden auferweckt, kamen nach Seiner Auferstehung aus ihren Gräbern hervor, gingen in die heilige Stadt hinein und erschienen vielen.” Was war mit ihnen? Sie waren die Verwirklichung des verheißenen Wortes Gottes. Gott begegnet uns nur an einer Stätte, und das ist: unter dem Opfer.
In 1. Thess. 4, 16 sagt die Bibel, dass auch die neutestamentlich Heiligen, diejenigen, die jetzt in Ihm lebendig gemacht sind, mit Ihm hervorkommen werden, wenn Er wiederkommt. Wie kommt ihr in Ihn hinein? Durch geistliche Taufe, die Kraft Gottes, den Ort der Begegnung mit Ihm, in Jesus. Jesus ist der von Gott bereitete Weg.
E-72 Beachtet, Jesus war sich dessen so sicher, wer Er war. ER wußte, dass Er der Sohn Gottes war. ER wußte, dass Er von einer Jungfrau geboren worden war. ER wußte, dass sich jede Schriftstelle durch Ihn erfüllte. ER wußte es so vollkommen, dass Er zu denen, die vom Tempelbau sprachen, sagen konnte: „Brecht diesen Tempel ab, so werde Ich ihn m drei Tagen wieder erstehen lassen.” Denkt darüber nach: „Brecht diesen Tempel ab, so werde Ich ihn in drei Tagen wieder erstehen lassen.” Weshalb? Weil es ein von Ihm geschriebenes Wort war.
David sagte: „DU wirst Meine Seele nicht dem Totenreich überlassen und nicht zugeben, dass Dein Heiliger die Verwesung sieht.” Jesus wußte, dass Er das war. Es gab keine Frage in Seinem Sinn. ER wußte, dass die Verwesung des Leibes nach zweiundsiebzig Stunden einsetzt und dass Er deshalb innerhalb der 72 Stunden wieder zum Leben erweckt würde. Darum sagte Er: „Brecht diesen Tempel ab, so werde Ich ihn in drei Tagen wieder erstehen lassen.” Weshalb? Weil dieses Wort von Ihm geschrieben stand. Es stand von Ihm geschrieben, denn Er war die Verwirklichung des geschriebenen Wortes Gottes für diese Zeit.
E-73 Irgendwo muss - Halleluja! - Bruder, irgendwo muss das offenbar gewordene Wort Gottes heute sein. Es ist dasselbe, weil Er von diesen Tagen gesprochen und gesagt hat, was in diesen Tagen geschehen würde. ER hat es uns gesagt. Wir wissen, was geschehen wird, und wir sehen es in euch verwirklicht. Also seid ihr in der Gemeinde Gottes. Andernfalls könntet ihr euch „Methodist”, „Baptist” oder dergleichen nennen, doch es würde nichts nützen. Es gibt nur einen Ort der Begegnung, der ist in Jesus Christus.
Oh, heute, oh, wie heute würde ich, dass jeder das sehen würde! Sehen Sie, wie Sie hineingehen, getauft werden. Die Braut ist Teil ihres Ehemannes, die Geiminde ist ein Teil des Wortes, die Manifestation.
E-74 In welcher Gemeinde befindet ihr euch? Seid ihr in einer Denomination? Wenn ja, dann sage ich euch jetzt ganz direkt, dass ihr in der von Laodizea seid. Seid ihr aber in Christus, so seid ihr eine neue Schöpfung und befindet euch in der Gemeinde des lebendigen Gottes. Darin werden in dieser Zeit wieder genau die gleichen Dinge kundwerden, die Er in Seinen Tagen getan hat. Sie wird genau das tun, was Er von ihr vorausgesagt hat. Das ist dann die wahre Gemeinde. In sie kommt ihr durch die geistliche Taufe hinein; nicht indem man ihr beitritt oder durch etwas anderes, sondern indem ihr durch den Heiligen Geist in Seinen Leib getauft werdet. Gottes einziger festgelegter Weg, den Er uns hinterlassen hat, besteht darin, durch Seinen Geist in Seinen Leib hineingetauft zu werden.
E-75 Jesus sagte in Johannes 14:12, „Wer an Mich glaubt...” - wer in Mir ist! Kein Wunder, dass die Leute sagen, die Zeiten der Wunder seien vorbei; kein Wunder, dass sie so etwas sagen. „Wer an Mich glaubt,” - nicht nur an Mich, sondern: wer Mir glaubt, „wird die Werke, die Ich tue, auch vollbringen.” Weshalb? Weil es Sein Leben ist. Es ist Seine Dynamik in Seiner Mechanik in euch, die es entzündet, in Gang setzt und die Werke vollführt, die verheißen worden sind. Oder: Mein Leben, das in Ihm ist, wurde durch Seinen Geist lebendig gemacht, damit Sein Wort, welches die Mechanik darstellt, durch Seine Dynamik in Tätigkeit gesetzt wird. In Hebr. 13:8 heißt es: „Jesus Christus ist derselbe, gestern, heute und in Ewigkeit.”
E-76 In Lukas 17:30 hat Jesus diese Dinge für die letzten Tage verheißen, denn Er ist derselbe, gestern, heute und in Ewigkeit. In Maleachi 4 letzter Teil, gab Er die Verheißung, die Herzen der Menschen in den letzten Tagen dem Glauben der Väter wieder zuzuwenden. ER hat es verheißen. An so vielen Stellen in der Bibel hat er die Dinge verheißen, die Er tun würde. „Eine kleine Weile, und die Welt sieht Mich nicht mehr, ihr aber werdet Mich sehen. Denn Ich werde immer mit euch, ja in euch sein, bis ans Ende der Welt.”
Beachtet wiederum, was in Lukas 17 steht: „Wie es in den Tagen Sodoms zugegangen ist...” Wißt ihr, wie es in Sodom zugegangen ist? Seht euch Kalifornien an; und nicht nur Kalifornien, sondern die Vereinigten Staaten; und nicht nur die Vereinigten Staaten, sondern die ganze Welt!
E-78 Oh, Ehre sei Gott für das Kommen des Herrn Jesus, für den Heiligen Geist, für dieses Wissen, für die lebendige Gegenwart des lebendigen Gottes! Jesus sagte in Lukas, dass sich an dem Tag der Menschensohn offenbart.
Merkt es euch: nicht Sohn Gottes. ER kam in drei Sohnesbezeichnungen: Menschensohn, Sohn Gottes, Sohn Davids. Als Er auf Erden war, kam Er als Menschensohn - Er war ein Prophet. Menschensohn bedeutet Prophet. Jehova selbst nannte die Propheten, wie z.B. Hesekiel und andere, so: „Menschensohn, was siehst du?” Jesus kam als Menschensohn, weil Er gemäß der Schrift so kommen mußte.
Moses sagte: „Der Herr, euer Gott, wird euch einen Propheten wie mich erstehen lassen.” ER mußte ein Prophet, der Menschensohn, sein. Nach Seinem Tode, Seiner Beerdigung und Auferstehung ist Er jetzt der Sohn Gottes, der Übernatürliche, der Heilige Geist.
E-79 Doch Er hat verheißen, dass die Welt kurz vor dem Ende der Zeit…
So werden würde, wie Sodom war. Damals kam ein Mann herab. Es waren eigentlich drei; zwei Engel und Gott selbst in menschlicher Gestalt. Es war Gott. Die Bibel sagt, dass Er es war. ER kam herab, offenbarte sich dort, indem Er Abraham sagte, was Sara, die sich im Zelt befand, dachte, obwohl Er Seinen Rücken dem Zelt, in dem Sara war, zugewandt hatte. Stimmt das? Jesus selbst sprach von „dem Tag, an dem der Menschensohn sich offenbart”. Das heißt in anderen Worten: der Menschensohn - der Dienst Jesu Christi selbst.
Die Gemeinde wird die Rechtfertigung erleben, wie Luther sie predigte; die Heiligung, wie Wesley sie predigte; die Taufe des Heiligen Geistes wie die Pfingstler und bis zur Vollkommenheit des Menschensohnes gelangen, so dass sie, wie der Ehemann und seine Frau, eins sein werden. Gott wird sich so in Seiner Braut, Seiner Gemeinde, kundtun, dass sie beide dasselbe sind. Sie sind eins.
Jetzt seht ihr, wo wir uns befinden.
E-80 Haltet nicht an den Überlieferungen und Traditionen fest. Sie waren gut für ihre Zeit, doch die Blume ist zur Blüte herangewachsen. Es ist die Zeit des Samens. Das stimmt. Jesus hat diese Dinge verheißen. Wenn wir sehen, dass Gott Seine Verheißung vor unseren Augen erfüllt, und erkennen, dass sie in uns ist und Sein Geist in uns lebt, dann ist dies der einzige Weg der Anbetung, die einzige Stätte der Anbetung, der einzig wahre Weg, wie ihr anbeten könnt. „Denn es gibt keine Verdammnis mehr für die, welche in Christus Jesus sind.” Gott gab die Verheißung. Jesus sagte: „Die Werke, die Ich tue, werdet auch ihr vollbringen.”, und was Er in den letzten Tagen tun würde. Wie war es während dieses Zeitalters? Es war weder hell noch dunkel, sondern ein trüber Tag, doch es heißt, dass zur Abendzeit Licht sein soll.
E-81 Die Sonne geht im Osten auf und im Westen unter. Dieselbe Sonne, die im Osten aufgeht, geht im Westen unter. So ist auch die Zivilisation vorwärts gedrungen. Sie durchzog drei Gewässer, drei „Taufen”, kam zunächst von Asien nach Europa, dann von Europa nach England und von England in die Vereinigten Staaten. Jetzt sind wir wieder an der Westküste angelangt, wo wir uns auch heute Nachmittag befinden. Hier ist der Wall, wo sich die ganze Macht der Finsternis und die Sünde zusammenballt. All diese Filme und Fernsehprogramme, in denen Männer Frauen küssen, vergiften die Gesinnung der jungen Mädchen.
E-82 Habt ihr gewußt, dass ein Mann, der eine Frau küßt, moralisch dazu verpflichtet ist, sie zu heiraten? Teilweise ist das schon ein Geschlechtsakt. Gewiß ist es das. Jawohl. Wie kommt das? Weil sich in den Lippen eines Mannes und einer Frau erotische Reizpunkte befinden. Wenn sich diese Reizpunkte berühren, rufen sie eine geschlechtliche Erregung hervor.
Seht euch Hollywood an! Seht, wie die jungen Mädchen sich in die Parks legen und wie die Jungen sich mit ihnen herumwälzen und dergleichen. Und dann singen sie im Chor! Diese „Elvis Presleys”, die wir heute haben, sind eine Schande für Amerika und für das, wofür unsere Väter gekämpft und geblutet haben und gestorben sind.
E-83 Doch die Stunde ist da, in der jedes Reich weichen muss, denn es gibt ein Reich Gottes, das durch die Taufe des Heiligen Geistes und die Gegenwart Jesu Christi in den Herzen der Menschen aufgerichtet wird. Christus wird zu Seiner Braut kommen und ein Reich hier auf Erden aufrichten, das niemals zerstört wird. Wie kommt ihr in dieses Reich hinein? Ihr werdet hineingeboren. Wie wißt ihr es? Indem ihr das Wort haltet. Wie könntet ihr zu einem Reich gehören und nicht mit dem König übereinstimmen? Seht, der König ist das Wort. „Im Anfang war das Wort, und das Wort war bei Gott, und Gott war das Wort... Und das Wort wurde Fleisch und wohnte unter uns.” „Derselbe, gestern, heute und in Ewigkeit.”
Woran erkannten sie, dass Er der „Menschensohn” war? Weil Er über die Zuhörerschaft blickte und erkannte, was sie dachten. Wir wissen, dass es stimmt. ER ist heute derselbe. Glaubt ihr das?
E-84 Hat Billy Gebetskarten ausgeteilt? Ich habe vergessen, ihn danach zu fragen. Hat er Gebetskarten ausgeteilt? Hat er Gebetskarten ausgeteilt? Gut.
Ich sage euch: Wenn ihr genügend Glauben habt, so glaube ich erst recht, dass Gott, der die Verheißung gab, hier und jetzt beweisen kann, dass Er Gott ist, ohne dass jemand zur Plattform kommen muss. Ich verspüre, dass ich aufgrund der Verheißung des Wortes des lebendigen Gottes die Initiative ergreifen sollte. Schaut her, ich möchte euch etwas zeigen. Wir werden jetzt diese lebendigmachende Kraft in Tätigkeit setzen. Ich möchte es euch zeigen.
Wie viele von euch glauben, dass sie diese lebendigmachende Kraft besitzen? Warum legt ihr den Kranken dann nicht die Hände auf?
E-85 Als die Jünger damals am Pfingsttag die lebendigmachende Kraft empfingen, was taten sie da? Sie zogen aus, legten den Kranken die Hände auf, und sie wurden gesund.
Jesus sagte in Markus 16, dass es bis ans Ende der Welt so sein wird. Wie lange? Während des Zeitalters der Apostel? „Geht hin in alle Welt und verkündigt das Evangelium der ganzen Schöpfung! Denen aber, die zum Glauben gekommen sind, werden diese Wunderzeichen folgen: ...Kranken werden sie die Hände auflegen, und sie werden gesund werden.” Das ist die lebendigmachende Kraft, wie sie noch in den Gebeinen des Elisa war. Dieselbe lebendigmachende Kraft ist in den Heiligen, die von ihr zum Leben erweckt wurden. Wenn also dieselbe lebendigmachende Kraft in uns ist, dann legt den Kranken die Hände auf, und sie werden gesund werden.
E-86 Ich gebrauche die Gabe der Unterscheidung fast nicht mehr, sondern lege den Kranken die Hände auf. Vorher, so habe ich festgestellt, erreichte ich nicht ein Drittel der Menschen, die ich jetzt erreiche. Auf diese Weise erreiche ich mehr als je zuvor. Ich stellte sogar bessere Resultate fest, wenn ich mich einfach in die Arme Gottes lege und sage: „Herr, Gott, Du hast es verheißen. Es ist Deine Verheißung. Es ist nicht meine, sondern Deine. DU hast verheißen, es zu tun. Ich habe gesehen, wie Du es erfüllt hast. Ich glaube, dass Du es auch jetzt tun wirst, denn ich bin in Deinen Leib hineingetauft worden, und Dein Geist ist hier, um zu bestätigen, dass es die Wahrheit ist. Amen.” Das ist die Stätte der Anbetung.
Dann gelangt ihr an einen Punkt, wo alle Dinge möglich sind. Ihr erreicht den Punkt, dass eure Motive, euer Bestreben, eure Ziele völlig im Willen Gottes sind. Wenn ihr nun eure Hände auflegt und glaubt, dann wird es geschehen. Glaubt ihr das?
E-87 Ich meine, dass der allmächtige Gott mir, noch bevor eine Gebetskarte aufgerufen wird, sagen kann, was ihr dort habt, was ihr hättet tun sollen und was ihr nicht hättet tun dürfen. Damit ergreife ich die Initiative. Das stimmt. Ich weiß, dass es stimmt. Es ist genau das, was Gott von uns getan haben möchte. Glaubt ihr das? Wie viele von euch glaubten, wenn Gott es tun würde?
Es sitzt nicht eine Person vor mir, die ich kenne oder an die ich mich erinnern könnte. Ich sehe niemanden, den ich wirklich kenne. Wie viele wissen, dass wir einander fremd sind? Hebt eure Hände. Wenn ihr wißt, dass ich nichts über euch weiß, dann hebt eure Hände. Überall in der Versammlung sind Menschen, die wissen, dass ich nichts über sie weiß. Überall, besonders hier. Die anderen Menschen kenne ich auch nicht. Sie haben ihre Hände nicht gehoben, doch ich kenne sie trotzdem nicht. Ich meine, dort sehe ich Richard Blair sitzen. Ich glaube, das stimmt. Im Raum ist es dunkel. Das Licht scheint hierher, deshalb kann ich nicht viel sehen.
E-88 Doch seht, ich versuche euch darzulegen, dass diese lebendigmachende Kraft, wenn sie in euch hineinkommt, Jesus Christus ist. Als Jesus Seine Hände auf die Kranken legte, wurden sie gesund. Jesus, der ja Mensch war, hatte die lebendigmachende Kraft, die Ihn belebte. ER sah Menschen an und konnte ihnen sagen, welche Gedanken in ihnen waren, was sie dachten und was sie getan haben. ER hatte ihnen den Rücken zugewandt und konnte ihnen sagen: „Warum denkt ihr solches in euren Herzen?”
Die Frau berührte Sein Gewand, und Er fragte: „Wer hat Mich angefaßt?” ER schaute umher, entdeckte sie und sprach: „ICH habe gespürt, dass Kraft von Mir ausgegangen ist. Dein Glaube hat dich gesund gemacht.” Das ist Jesus Christus. Das ist der Beweis dafür, wo die Gemeinde sich befindet und was die echte, lebendigmachende Kraft Gottes am Menschen bewirkt. Glaubt ihr das? Laßt uns für einen Moment die Häupter neigen.
E-89 Teurer Gott, wir hatten heute nachmittag einen Kampf mit Satan wegen der Mikrophone, denn wir wußten, dass die Menschen im Gebäude vielleicht nicht einmal die Hälfte mitbekommen durch die Rückkoppelung. Dennoch bete ich, o Gott, dass der Heilige Geist das, was dazu bestimmt ist, nimmt und die Menschen sehen läßt, Herr, dass wir keine Gruppe sind, die etwas herbeizerren will und nur eine tote Hoffnung hat. O Gott, wir leben, wir sind lebendig gemacht durch die Kraft der Auferstehung Christi. Jesus Christus lebt in uns. Das glauben wir, Herr.
Wir beanspruchen keine Ehre für uns. Es soll sein wie auf dem Verklärungsberg, wo jeder von uns repräsentiert wurde: dort war Moses, der gestorben ist und auferweckt wurde; da war Elia, der die Heiligen versinnbildlichte, die in der letzten Zeit lebendig gemacht und dann hinaufgenommen werden. Als sie dann hinschauten, sahen sie nur noch Jesus allein. Das wissen wir, Herr. Wir wollen nicht von den Menschen gesehen werden. Zu dem Zweck sind wir nicht hier. Das sei ferne.
Doch, Herr, es erfreut unsere Herzen, wenn wir Jesus unter uns verherrlicht sehen; wenn wir Ihn verherrlicht sehen; wenn wir Sein Wort sehen, denn Er ist ja das Wort; wenn wir Ihn das, was wir hier in der Bibel lesen, was Er verheißen hat, dann wirklich in uns wirken sehen. O Gott, wie demütig macht uns das, denn wir wissen, es ist Seine lebendige Gegenwart.
E-90 Wir sind nicht irgendwo beigetreten, haben nicht für etwas geworben. Wir glauben einfach, Herr, zum ewigen Leben. DU hast uns hineinversiegelt durch die Taufe des Heiligen Geistes, hast unseren Leib und unseren Geist lebendig gemacht. DU hast uns lebendig gemacht, damit wir Visionen sehen, weissagen, in Zungen reden und damit wir große Wunder und Zeichen erleben. Weshalb? Weil es der lebendige Gott ist. Wir sind in diesem Leib. Der Welt, denen, die verlorengehen, ist es eine Torheit, doch uns, die wir glauben, ist es eine Gotteskraft, zum ewigen Leben. Vater, wir danken Dir dafür.
Laß es an diesem Tag kundwerden, Herr, dass Du Gott bist, dass Du Deinen Sinn auch nicht über ein einziges Wort geändert hast, das Du je sagtest. DU bist gestern, heute und in Ewigkeit derselbe, der eine und einzige Weg, den Gott bestimmt hat. Der einzige Mensch, in den Gott je Seinen Namen legte, war Sein eigener Sohn, der Seinen Namen trug: Jesus - Gott, Jehova, Retter, Immanuel; die Tür zu der Schafherde; Er, der war, der ist und der kommt; die Wurzel und der Sproß - beides: Wurzel und Sproß Davids; der Morgenstern; die Lilie im Tale. O Gott, wie wunderbar! Kein Wunder, dass Jesaja sagte: „Wunderrat, Heldengott, Ewigvater, Friedefürst.” Oh, wir haben keinen anderen Vater als Dich, Herr. DU bist unser Vater; Du bist unsere Mutter; Du bist alles, was wir sind, alles, was wir je sein können. Wir möchten nichts anderes sehen, als dass Jesus verherrlicht wird.
Vater, vielleicht konnte ich dies heute nachmittag nur sehr mangelhaft darlegen, doch sieh mein Herz an und erhöre mich, teurer Gott. Möge man heute sagen können, dass Jesus Christus hier in diesem Tempel verherrlicht worden ist. Gewähre es, Vater, denn wir bitten es in Seinem Namen, während ich, zusammen mit der Zuhörerschaft, in Demut darauf warte, Dich durch Deinen Geist wirken zu sehen. Amen.
E-91 Ich möchte, dass ihr dies eine für mich tut, und stelle euch eine ernste Frage. Beantwortet sie mir bitte so, als wäre dies das letzte Mal, dass ihr jemandem in eurem Leben antwortet. Glaubt ihr, dass es die Wahrheit ist? Glaubt ihr, dass es nicht eine Kirche oder Denomination gibt, die in der Gegenwart Gottes Anerkennung finden könnte? Glaubt ihr das? Es gibt nicht eine. Nur diejenigen, die in Jesus Christus hineingeboren wurden, tragen Seinen Namen. Das stimmt.
Ihr nehmt Seinen Namen an, wenn ihr hineingeboren werdet.
Aber nicht durch die Wassertaufe. Ihr könnt zwar in Seinem Namen getauft sein, doch dadurch nehmt ihr Seinen Namen noch nicht an. Ihr nehmt Seinen Namen durch die Geburt an, nicht durch Wasser. Ihr werdet in den Namen Jesus Christus, in die Gemeinschaft, hineingetauft, doch durch den Heiligen Geist werdet ihr in Jesus Christus hineingetauft. Ihr könntet hundertmal getauft werden auf jede Art, wie ihr es möchtet, es würde keinen Unterschied machen. Doch wenn ihr einmal durch den Heiligen Geist in den Leib Christi hineingetauft werdet, dann werdet ihr zu einem Sohn oder einer Tochter Gottes, und jedes Wort ist für euch wahr.
ER tat das zu einem bestimmten Zweck.
E-92 Ich sagte es ja bereits vor einigen Tagen: Als Gott die Sonne auf die Erde scheinen ließ, da wußte Er, dass die Palmen und alles andere in der Erde lag. Sie waren damals noch ein Teil des Erdbodens, wie ihr auch. Als Er den Sohn Gottes am Ostermorgen auferweckte und dann den Heiligen Geist sandte, geschah es, um diesen Samen des ewigen Lebens lebendig zu machen, von dem Er schon vor Grundlegung der Welt wußte, dass er hier sein würde. ER wußte, dass dieses Mikrophon sich heute nachmittag so verhalten würde. ER wußte, welch eine Einstellung ihr haben würdet. ER ist unendlich. Ihr könnt es euch mit eurem Verstand nicht vorstellen, ihr müßt es einfach annehmen. Doch laßt mich euch dieses eine sagen: derselbe Gott befindet sich heute Nachmittag in all Seiner Schöne hier.
E-93 Ob ihr Methodist, Baptist, Pfingstler, oder was auch immer, sein mögt, setzt euer Vertrauen nicht in eine Organisation, denn es kann keine Organisation sein. Sie bestehen aus zu vielen verschiedenen Lehren. Es geht darum, wie ihr als einzelne zu Gott steht. Ihr müßt als einzelne kommen. Gott befaßt sich mit euch, nicht mit eurer Gemeinde. Ihr solltet ein gutes Leben in der Gemeinde oder Versammlung führen, in der ihr anbetet. Ihr solltet das Leben führen, das von euch erwartet wird. Doch seht, sie stellen Satzungen auf usw., so dass man nicht einmal dort hineinkommt, wenn man sie nicht glaubt. Wie kann Gott dann jemals hineinkommen, wenn Sein Wort sich immer weiter kundtut?
E-94 Wie sollte Luther von dieser Taufe und der Wiedererstattung des Geistes wissen, wenn er damals gelebt hat? Die Pflanze war noch nicht soweit herangewachsen. Genausowenig wußte Wesley davon. Auch die Pfingstler wissen nicht, was heute vor sich geht. Es ist das gleiche. Es wächst von ihnen weg. Das stimmt. So war es in jedem Zeitalter und so wird es immer sein.
Ich kann anhand der Bibel beweisen, dass dies das Weizenzeitalter ist. Denkt daran, dass nach dieser großen Erweckung seit der Gründung der Pfingstgemeinde keine andere Organisation mehr entstanden ist. Es kann keine mehr entstehen. Nach der Hülse kommt der Weizen, und nach dem Weizenkorn kommt nichts mehr. Das ist der Grund. Fünfzehn Jahre sind vergangen. Gewöhnlich war drei Jahre nach einer Erweckung bereits eine Organisation gegründet worden. Fragt einen Historiker. Doch nach dieser ist keine Organisation entstanden. Man hat versucht, eine Spätregen-Bewegung zu gründen, doch ihr habt gesehen, was damit geschah. Es geht nicht. Jetzt ist es Weizen. Jawohl. Es sind keine Träger mehr, sondern das echte Korn. Christus ist unter Seinem Volk. Glaubt ihr das?
E-95 Wir werden auf dieser Seite beginnen, und zwar im unteren Teil. Ich kann keine einzelnen herausrufen, denn ich sehe, dass es so viele sind. Wie viele glauben, dass ich Sein Knecht bin? Habt Glauben an Gott. Wie viele auf der Seite glauben es auch? Dann sagt: „Ich glaube es von ganzem Herzen.” Möge Gott, der Herr, es uns gewähren, damit ihr die lebendigmachende Kraft seht. Es ist etwas, ein lebendiger Beweis, der es bestätigt. Natürlich kann jemand sagen: „Dies ist das oder das.” Doch laßt es geschehen.
Für mich ist es völlig unmöglich, etwas über euch zu wissen. Das wißt ihr. Ich kenne nur eine Person, von denen, die ich sehe: das ist Prediger Blair, der dort sitzt. Er kommt aus dem Osten des Landes, ich glaube aus Arkansas. Er ist der einzige Bekannte von den Zuhörern, die ich sehe. Gott weiß, dass es wahr ist.
E-96 Ich habe gerade bemerkt, dass die Dame dort am Ende ein geistliches Problem hat, für das du betest. Glaubst du, dass Gott dein geistliches Problem löst und es in Ordnung bringen wird? Gut, du kannst es haben. Lege deine Hand der anderen Dame auf, die neben dir sitzt, denn sie hat ein Magenleiden, für das sie betet. Ja. Stimmt das, Schwester? Erhebe deine Hände, wenn das wahr ist. Ich kenne dich nicht; habe dich nie in meinem Leben gesehen. Es sind zwei farbige Mädchen. Was ist es? Ist es nicht genau das, was Er angekündigt hat? Ganz genau.
Hier sitzt eine Frau und schaut hierher. Sie sieht mich an. Sie hat ein Herzleiden. Glaubst du, dass Gott das Herzleiden heilen wird? Du hast dort gesessen und gebetet: „Ich wünschte, dass ich dorthin kommen könnte.” Stimmt das? Winke so mit deiner Hand, wenn es stimmt. Wie konnte ich wissen, was du in deinem Gebet sagtest? Glaubet nur. Ihr braucht nichts zu tun, als nur zu glauben.
E-97 Hier ist eine Frau, die stirbt, wenn sie nicht geheilt wird. Sie hat Krebs. Glaubst du, dass Gott den Krebs heilen wird? Ja. Glaubst du es? Du hast deine Hand ein wenig zögernd erhoben. Glaubst du, dass Gott mir sagen kann, wer du bist? Miß Gunn. Wenn das stimmt, winke so mit deiner Hand. Gut. Gehe nach Hause, Jesus Christus macht dich gesund.
„Wenn ihr glauben könnt, sind alle Dinge möglich.” hat die Schwester mit dem dunklen Hut angerührt, die hier sitzt und mich anschaut. Auch sie hat Krebs. Glaubst du, dass Gott dich heilen wird? Glaubst du es von ganzem Herzen? Ich spreche zu Frau Miller. Glaubst du das? Ich kenne die Frau nicht, habe sie nie in meinem Leben gesehen. Gott im Himmel weiß, dass es stimmt. Amen. O wenn du glauben kannst!
Hier am Ende sitzt eine farbige Frau, die ihr Haupt geneigt hat. Sie denkt nach. Sie denkt an einen Angehörigen, an jemanden, für den sie betet. Sie kam, um für ihn beten zu lassen. Er ist nicht hier. Es ist ihr Mann. Das stimmt. Er ist nicht hier. Er ist zu Hause; er ist operiert worden, nicht wahr? Das stimmt. Er hat Schwierigkeiten mit den Nebenhöhlen. Das ist wahr. Er wird gesund werden. Dein Glaube dafür war stark. Glaubt du, dass es wahr wird? Amen.
E-98 Könnt ihr nicht sehen, dass Jesus Christus derselbe ist, gestern, heute und in Ewigkeit? Fragt diese Menschen. Es geschah ja überall in der Versammlung. Glaubt ihr, dass Er hier ist? Fühlt ihr diese lebendigmachende Kraft in euch? Das ist Gott, der euch gesund macht, Freunde. Glaubt ihr es?
Werdet ihr mir einen Gefallen tun? Wie viele hier sind krank? Erhebt eure Hände. Es geht auf fünf Uhr zu. Legt einander die Hände auf. Sagt noch kein Wort, legt einander zunächst die Hände auf. Ich möchte, dass ihr etwas tut.
E-99 Der Mann, der hier hinten sitzt, hat ein Gewächs am Rücken. Glauben Sie, dass Gott dieses Gewächs von Ihrem Rücken nimmt, mein Herr? Glaubst du, dass Gott dich heilen wird? Der junge Mann, der mich ansieht, dachte, dass er übersehen wird. Erhebe deine Hand. Gut. Wenn du von ganzem Herzen glaubst, wird Gott es von dir nehmen. Halleluja!
Ich fordere die ganze Zuhörerschaft im Namen Jesu Christi auf, euer Gewissen doch nicht durch Unglauben abstumpfen und verwirren zu lassen. Könnt ihr den Menschensohn, den Menschensohn in Gestalt der prophetischen Botschaft, nicht sehen, der in der Prophetie in Seine Gemeinde zurückkehrt und Jesus Christus als denselben, gestern, heute und in Ewigkeit offenbart? Dies ist in der ganzen Zeit bis jetzt nicht geschehen. Da ist der Beweis.
E-100 Was ist die Gemeinde? Wie kommt ihr in sie hinein? Wenn ihr euch darin befindet, dann seid ihr alles, was Jesus Christus war. Ihr seid sogar Söhne und Töchter Gottes. ER wurde wie ihr, damit ihr werdet wie Er. Doch die Schwierigkeit ist, dass ihr euch entweder fürchtet, es anzuwenden, oder ihr stimmt nicht mit Seinem Wort überein. Dann kann es euch auch nicht helfen, ganz gleich, was ihr tut. Wenn ihr nicht ganz in Sein Wort hineinkommt, wird es niemals wirksam sein.
Wer kann mich einer Sache überführen, die Er gesagt und für diesen Tag verheißen hat und die nicht geschehen wäre? Dann haltet mir nicht eure Denominationen vor, denn dadurch kann es nicht wirksam sein. Halleluja! Ich fühle es; ich weiß, dass Er hier ist. Ich bin gewiß, dass Er hier ist. Ich weiß, dass jetzt genügend lebendigmachende Kraft in der Gemeinde ist, um jeden zu heilen, der hier ist.
Könnt ihr es glauben? Glaubt ihr es? Glaubt ihr an das Gebet für die Kranken? Glaubt ihr, dass Jesus sagte: „Den Kranken werden sie die Hände auflegen, und sie werden gesund werden.”? Legt jetzt einander die Hände auf. Betet nicht für euch, sondern für denjenigen neben euch. Sie beten jetzt für euch, in Stille und Andacht.
E-101 Herr, wie danke ich Dir, dass ich hier auf dieser Plattform stehen und ein Wort predigen darf, das so im Gegensatz zu dem steht, was Menschen heute denken, dass sie es als Irrlehre, als Spiritismus, als von bösen Geistern bezeichnen, wie sie es damals taten, als sie Ihn „Beelzebub” nannten. Doch wir sehen Dich inmitten dieser großen Versammlung heute nachmittag. DU hast Dich uns zugewandt und das, was gepredigt wurde, als Wahrheit bestätigt und erwiesen.
O Gott, dieses ist Dein Volk. Der Teufel hat versucht, die Mikrophone zu stören; er hat versucht, die Gedanken der Menschen durcheinanderzubringen; er hat versucht, sie davon abzuhalten. Doch ich glaube, dass sie es trotzdem empfangen werden, Herr. Ich bitte darum, dass sie es empfangen. Ich bitte darum, dass sie es erhalten.
Gewähre diesen Gläubigen mit lebendigmachender Kraft, Herr, dass, falls sie Dein Kommen nicht mehr erleben, die lebendigmachende Kraft sie in den letzten Tagen auferweckt. Gewähre es, Herr, dass diese lebendigmachende Kraft jetzt ihren Glauben in dem, was sie tun, belebt. Gläubige haben Gläubigen die Hände aufgelegt, Menschen haben sich mit ihrer Kraft vereinigt. Es ist die Kraft Gottes in den Söhnen und Töchtern Gottes durch den Sohn Gottes.
O Gott, Satan soll diese Menschen freigeben. Mögen sie heute Nachmittag durch die lebendigmachende Auferstehungskraft geheilt werden, indem die Gegenwart Jesu Christi bestätigt wird. Im Namen Jesu Christi soll es so sein.
E-102 Eure Hände, die ihr den anderen aufgelegt habt, haben lebendigmachende Kraft, wenn ihr lebendig gemacht wurdet. Seid ihr zum Leben hindurchgedrungen? Ist Christus euch zur Realität geworden? Ist die Kraft Gottes kund geworden? Seid ihr in der Gemeinde, in der von Gott zubereiteten Gemeinde? Wie seid ihr in sie hineingekommen? Wie wißt ihr, dass ihr darin lebendig gemacht worden seid? Alle eure Gedanken, euer ganzes Wesen ist jetzt in Christus. Christus ist inmitten Seines Volkes und erweist sich als lebendig. ER beweist, dass Er hier ist wie in den Tagen Sodoms.
Das Leben der Menschen, die ihre Hände aufgelegt haben, wurde verwandelt, so dass aus Dirnen, Trinkern und Prostituierten wahrhafte Geheiligte Gottes, die lebendig gemacht worden sind, wurden. Sie haben euch die Hände aufgelegt. Sie sind durch die Taufe des Heiligen Geistes in der Gemeinde. Es ist dieselbe Kraft, die noch in den Gebeinen Elisas war, die jetzt auf euren Schultern, auf euren Händen, auf euren Häuptern liegt. Dieselbe lebendigmachende Kraft - Er ist hier und beweist, dass Er von den Toten auferstanden ist. ER bezeugt sich als lebendig, indem Er dieselben Dinge tut, die Er damals tat. Amen.
E-103 Könnt ihr Ihm jetzt glauben? Könnt ihr glauben, dass die Hände, die euch aufgelegt wurden, göttliche Hände sind? Könnt ihr glauben, dass der Geist, der uns jetzt lebendig gemacht hat, auch bewirkt, dass wir uns in den Augen der Welt verrückt benehmen? Glaubt ihr, dass es Seine lebendigmachende Kraft ist? Glaubt ihr, dass ihr in Seiner Gemeinde seid? Wenn ihr es seid und glaubt, dass die Hände, die auf euch liegen, heilige Hände sind, wie Gott es geboten hat, dann gebiete ich euch, die ihr krank seid, im Namen Jesu Christi, aufzustehen und eure Heilung anzunehmen.
O Christen, erkennt ihr, was geschehen ist? Begreift ihr, dass heute Millionen von Menschen auf den Straßen dahingehen, die nichts anderes sind als Atomfutter? Begreift ihr, dass sie tot sind in Sünden und Übertretungen und dass es dunkel ist in ihrem Leben? Sie gehen in Kirchen um irgendwelcher Vorträge und Vorschriften willen, die sie halten sollen, und nennen es Religion.
E-104 Habt ihr begriffen, dass ihr aus dem Tode zum Leben erweckt und in den Leib des lebendigen Gottes hineingetauft worden seid, der euren Leib lebendig gemacht hat? Dort spricht man in Zungen, legt sie aus und erlebt, wie Jesus Christus sich unter uns kundtut. Deshalb kann eine Krankheit in solch einer Gruppe nicht bestehen. Möge euer Glaube auf Ihn gerichtet sein. Glaubt Ihm. Sagt: „Herr, mein Gott, ich glaube von ganzem Herzen”, und ihr werdet gesund werden.
Sind Sünder hier, die in den Leib Christi hineinkommen möchten? Dann hebt eure Hände und sagt: „Ich bin noch nicht hineingekommen, ich bin noch nicht mit dem Heiligen Geist erfüllt, aber, Bruder Branham, ich sehne mich heute nachmittag wirklich danach. Betest du für mich?” Hebt eure Hände. Schämt euch nicht. Ihr seid in Seiner Gegenwart. Schaut euch die Hände an! Schaut euch die Hände an!
E-105 Jeder, der die Taufe des Heiligen Geistes empfangen möchte, soll seine Hände heben, wo immer ihr seid. Alle, die sie empfangen möchten. Ihr, die ihr den Heiligen Geist schon empfangen habt, legt denen, die in eurer Nähe sind, eure heiligen, geweihten Hände auf. „Wenn der Heilige Geist, der Jesus von den Toten auferweckt hat, in euch wohnt, so wird Er auch eure sterblichen Leiber aus dem Tode zum Leben erwecken.” Dadurch wird der ganze Leib dem Geiste unterordnet. Laßt uns die Häupter neigen. Jeder bete für diejenigen, welche die Taufe des Heiligen Geistes empfangen möchten. Ich glaube, dass Gott nun jeden von euch mit Seinem Heiligen Geist erfüllt.
Warum warten wir noch, Freunde? Eines Tages werdet ihr zu lange gewartet haben. Dies ist die Stunde. Wartet nicht länger. Ihr seid hier in diesem Tempel und könnt den ganzen Abend oder die Nacht hindurch hierbleiben und beten. Teurer Gott, ich bete, dass Du den Heiligen Geist noch einmal wie einen mächtigen, brausenden Wind sendest, der das ganze Haus erfüllt, nachdem heute Nachmittag vollkommen bestätigt wurde, dass Du lebst und mit Deinem Volke bist. In Jesu Namen. Amen.
E-1 Let us bow our heads just a moment. Dear Heavenly Father, we certainly deem this a privilege to be here today in this city of Los Angeles, and amongst these, the believers that... the Elected that's been called out of the world, separated children of God, in this great hour that we're living, under this great expectation of the appearing of our Lover, the Lord Jesus, at any time. We thank Thee for this in our heart, that we believe that He will come in our generation. We're looking for Him today. If He isn't here today, and we're here tomorrow, we'll be looking for Him tomorrow.

E-2 Dear God, we pray that this meeting will be just a--a special meeting. May it be a time that it'll make a--a record for the Church advancement, that'll be on Your Books in the Eternity. Bless every feeble effort that we put forth, Father. We realize that we're a total failure without You, so therefore we must have You, Lord, if it can we continue. And we do not want this for our own glory. We want this for Your glory. For that's our heart's desire, is to see Jesus glorified in His people. To strengthen the faith of those, Lord, in this day when the battle is so hard, we've come in for this revival among us, and a retreat, a refreshment. We pray that You will grant all these things to us, for we ask it in Jesus' Name. Amen. (You be seated.) [I Peter 4:11]

[Others suggest how to adjust microphone.] Well, it isn't going to work like that. [Blank.spot.on.tape]... Brother Shakarian. Now that sounds a little better.

E-5 I'm kind of small, got a small voice, and but a great big Message from the Lord. A lot of opposition from Satan, to keep from bringing It, but we'll get here anyhow. We're trusting this will be a great week for all of us.

E-6 I was sitting there thinking of how many times that our dear deceased Brother Thomas Wyatt, no doubt, had spoke from this same pulpit, a great servant to Christ.

E-7 I knew Brother Wyatt. He was always a great inspiration to me when I would meet him and talk with him. I remember, just as a boy preacher, he would always... his book, called, Wings Of Healing. I like that title, Wings Of Healing.

E-8 And we're glad to be here in this temple that's been dedicated for service of Christ. God bless his widow, and all of you people who... Sure, I know you miss him, too. I missed his program. When I heard that he was gone, I--I could hear that voice. He was getting a little aged, but he still carried a good strong voice, and--and had a message from God. And his life still lives on here in you people. And over in the mission fields where he sent all those units, and so forth, the Gospel still moves on because of Thomas Wyatt. May his soul rest in peace until the time we meet him in that glorious Land where there is no death or old age. We're here to carry on now until our time is called or the great general resurrection when Jesus comes to get us all.

E-9 Now I know you have service here, I think, tonight. And I was told, a few moments ago, that--that you had service here tonight, so I will hurry up as quick as possible.

E-10 Because, I've got Monday night, Tuesday night, Wednesday night, so forth, this week, so I'm trusting that the Lord will bless us. We're going to pray for the sick. We're going to preach Christ, if He will, if it be His will, in all the power of His resurrection that He will permit us to do. And whatever He gives to do, that we want to do with all our heart. And I--I know that He'll bless us if we'll just believe Him.

E-11 And now just before we open the Word, to read It, I want to speak to Him again, while we bow our heads and get quiet now, and trusting the confusion is over. We realize, all Christians know, that the enemy, our enemy, works on every hand. But, see, when things like that happen, just hold quiet. God knows what it's all about. See, just sit still, He might have been doing something you might not know nothing about right now. Let's speak to Him.

E-12 Father, we pray now that You'll calm the sea, the mighty Lord Jesus come walking in on His Word now, introducing to us, in a new spheres, and His power and manifestations. We ask this, as we read His Word, may It be quickened to our hearts today, that we might know Him, in the power of His resurrection. For we ask it in Jesus' Name. Amen. , [Philippians 3:9-10]

E-13 Now if you'll turn in the Book of Deuteronomy. I want to read a verse, or two, out of the Book of Deuteronomy, the 16th chapter of Deuteronomy.
Observe the month of Abib, which means April, and keep the passover unto the LORD thy God: for in the month of Abib the LORD thy God brought thee... out of Egypt by night.
Thou shalt therefore sacrifice the passover of the LORD thy God, of the flocks and of the herd, in the place where the LORD shall place... (pardon me)... in the place which the LORD shall choose to place his name therein.
Thou shall not eat no leavened bread with it; seven days shall thou eat unleavened bread therein, and the bread of affliction; for thou comest forth out of the land of Egypt in haste:... thou mayest remember the day that thou comest... out of the land of Egypt all the days of thy life.
And there shall be no leavened bread seen in thee, all the coast, all thy coast seven days; neither shall there be any... flesh, which thou sacrificedst the first day at the evening, remain at all until morning.
Thou mayest not sacrifice the passover within any gate... which the LORD thy God giveth thee:
But at the place which the LORD thy God shall choose to place his name in, there thou shall sacrifice the passover at evening, and the going down of the sun, at the season that thou comest forth out of Egypt. [Deuteronomy 16:1-6]

E-14 [A baby now cries out, in the congregation--Ed.] Like we got some trouble again. I believe I can holler louder than that kind of a thing, see. See?

E-15 It's a very strange text I wish to speak a little while on, this afternoon, is on: God's Provided Place Of Worship.

E-16 Now, this is unusual. But as I've said, many times before, that God usually dwells in unusual manners, unusual places, does unusual things, because He is unusual. Ever who believes on Him, acts unusual. There is many, many things that we would like to say about His unusualness. But I know that all, who are acquainted with Him, knows that He is unusual, does the unusual things, some sometimes at the unusual time. So we are trusting today that God will bless these, this reading of the Word, and the text that I have chosen to talk to you about.

E-17 Now, what I think that caused our trouble here, was, they cut them tape recorders in over there, and just pulled the current right out of the microphone. So, if they don't fix it, why, you'll hear me anyhow. God will fix our ears so that we can hear.

E-18 The reason I want to speak on this text, and it's a good time to do it, at the Full Gospel Business Men's meeting, is because all of the churches, or many of them, are represented in this group, all different denomination.

E-19 And I find, many times, that people, meeting them on the street, in the highways, and on planes, trains, buses, I'll say to them, "Are you a Christian?"

E-20 One of them will say, "Well, I'm Methodist. I'm Baptist. I'm Presbyterian. I'm Lutheran. Pentecostal," or something on that manner. And all... [Microphone system squeals--Ed.]

E-21 Everyone has got a denomination that he wishes to represent. And that's perfectly all right to be represented by a denomination, but, still, the bad part of it, that each one thinks that this certain group is the only group that--that's going to go to Heaven, and it's the only one that--that God is represented in, at all, is somebody's certain group. I thought this afternoon would be a good time to settle that. [Congregation applauds--Ed.] And perhaps that's why Satan keeps working on this microphone. You know, anything that man makes will go wrong, but what God makes doesn't go wrong. So being a good time to do it, a good place to do it, so, God help us that, by His grace, we will try to do our best to talk about it.

E-22 Now this text, coming out of the Book of Deuteronomy. I understand that Deuteronomy... as I have some Scriptures and things written down here.

E-23 It used to be I could think of them real fast, but since I passed twenty-five, the second time, it comes a little hard for me to remember it all. So, I go into the room and pray. And as He gives me the Scriptures, I jot them down, and maybe a note now and then, with it, kind of keep my mind running the way it was when He gave it to me.

E-24 Deuteronomy being a Greek word meaning "two laws," the word Deuteronomy. And God has two laws.

E-25 And one of them is the law of death, to disobedient to His Word. We find that, when Eve disobeyed His Word, it brought death. That's one of His laws, "The day you eat thereof, that day you die." , [Genesis 2:17]

E-26 And then He has another law, which is the law of Life, to obedience, if you don't do such a things. Why, keeping His Word, you'll live. [Romans 8:2]

E-27 It boils down to two things, to my way of thinking, that's, either keeping His Word or disobeying His Word. , [I John 2:5]

E-28 One of these laws was given at Mount Sinai. And the other was... That's the law of death. The other law was give at Mount Calvary, where the law of Life was given, through Christ Jesus.
He also has two covenants. [Exodus 31:18], [Exodus 34:29-32], [John 3:16]

E-29 He had a covenant with Adam, the first man on earth. And that covenant was on conditions, "If you do so-and-so, I'll do so-and-so." Adam would had something to do in order to keep this covenant alive before God. He had to walk in God's ways, keeping all of His Word, not breaking one Word. [Genesis 2:16-17]

E-30 But then He made another covenant, and that was with Abraham. This covenant was not on conditions, but was unconditionally. God gave the covenant to Abraham, no strings tied to it, at all. Unconditional! Not, "I will." "I have! I've already done it." [Genesis 17:2-8]

E-31 And that's the law that Christians must live by. Is not what we do ourself, but what He has done for us. Christ has already been sacrificed. Not, "He will be." He has been! It's a finished product. He lived, died, rose again, ascended into Heaven, has come back in the form of the Holy Ghost. So, it's a finished work, with God. Christ, knowing no sin, became my sin; that I might stand in His place, He took my place. I was in Him, at Calvary, when He died. There I must die with Him, to live. Because the law of sin and death is in the body, you have to die, to be reconciled to Him. , [Romans 8:2-3], [II Corinthians 5:21]

E-32 But now we get all these words that we could use, these great texts, which we're all familiar with many of them, and the great types of the Scripture. But, this afternoon, we're confronted with this, that, in the face of all this, He still says there is only one place that He'll meet you, in the face of all of our different theories. We've had Judaism. We've had Mohammedanism. We've had... We got all kinds of creeds and denomination, churches, and so forth, but yet God said there is just one place that He'll meet you. All those places, each one says that, "He meets in my church. And if you don't belong to my church, He--He won't meet you. You, you just got to be in this group or He--or He just won't meet you there. Or, He won't meet you nowhere else but there, rather."

E-33 And then we find out here that He does have one place, just one place only. "Thou shall sacrifice the sacrifice in the place that the Lord thy God shall choose." Now He's got a chosen place that He meets the worshiping children, and they were not to sacrifice anywhere else but in that one place. Any other place would not work. He had one certain place that He would meet them. And one place, alone, is where He meets the worshiper. [Deuteronomy 16:2, 6]

E-34 And then, if that be true, we better be very careful that we find that place. I think it's very behooving to us, that, as people who know that we are dying, and living in a dying race, living in a dying age, living in a dying nation, under the banner of death.

E-35 And this world must soon come to an end. It can't go much longer. Sin is too deep. It's beyond hope. There is no more hope for the world. It's past that.

E-36 I believe the Holy Spirit is gleaning in the fields, finding this one and that one, for the hour is far spent. The Gospel has been preached to every nation. Ism's and things has followed It, but yet the Gospel has went on just the same.

E-37 And now, at the end time, we see the things happening the way they are, there's a great warning amongst the elected people of God, to find what is right. And it behooves us to know that. Now, not somebody's theory, but to know what is Truth, what the Bible says is the Truth. Because, it'll be too late one of these days, for us, and this may be the day, so let's take real consideration of what God has said.

E-38 Remember, when God speaks a Word, He can never take it back. He has to ever remain the same. He can never say something, and then say, "Well, I--I didn't exactly mean that." See, He is infinite. He knows the best, to begin with. We say things that we think is best, then after a while we take it back. But God can't do that, and remain God. So if He is infinite, He--He does not do that, because He is perfect in every Word. He never utters a Word unless it's Eternal. All of His Eternal's was with Him at the beginning, His thoughts, His attributes, and they're only expressing themselves in the world today. [Ecclesiastes 3:14]

E-39 Now, remember, He has a provided place, one place alone where He'll meet the believing children. Anywhere else won't work.

E-40 Remember, Jesus said, when He was here on earth, talking to a bunch of people who was very religious, very fine, very cultured, a very zealous people, of God, but Jesus said to them, "In vain you worship Me," teaching for Doctrine their traditions of man. Remember how pious those people was, and how zealous of God. I believe if we were counting the people who were more zealous, of today or that day, they would be more zealous than we are. Far more! When it come to keeping the traditions and laws, and things, they lived by those. And they were very zealous of God, and they believed God. But Jesus, God made flesh among us, said, "In vain do you worship Me." Now, He didn't say they didn't worship Him. They was worshiping Him, but in vain. [Matthew 15:9], [Mark 7:7-9]

E-41 So anything in vain is of non-, no avail, doesn't do no good. You should never do it, because you're just wasting your time. You're wasting your breath, you're wasting your efforts, until we come to know what we're doing.

E-42 Surely, if God expects people to be perfect, as Jesus said, "Be ye therefore perfect even as your Father in Heaven is perfect," there must be some preparation somewhere. And He said, "I'll choose the place that the people will worship Me. No other place will I meet them." And, now, that's got to be that place, and we ought to seek it out. Find out where it's at, and then go there. And I think we should turn there, quickly, when we find the place, leaving other things alone. [Matthew 5:48]

E-43 Now, remember, Jesus said in this same Scripture here that I'm quoting. Man's tradition then is in vain. We should never fool with it. There needs be, somewhere, some place that He has provided a place for us, that we could come and the worship would be received. Now, remember, outside of that chosen place, no matter how sincere you are, how fundamental you are, you are still worshiping in vain. [Deuteronomy 16:2]

E-44 I know that sounds rude. But, the building is about finished, we don't want it shaking. Let's bolt it down with the Gospel, so that when people meets you on the street, or wherever you are, you Christians, that you'll have an answer for them.

E-45 In the hour when they're saying, "Oh, this is That. And I seen these do this, and that do that." Certainly, all these things has got to happen. But there is a place that's provided by God alone, and that's the place that God meets the worshiper, alone. [Deuteronomy 16:2, 6]

E-46 Notice the 2nd verse, "Worship in the place that I have chosen." Chosen what? In this place shows' that He has a place where all people worship. Other places are in vain. "And in this same place," He said, "I have chosen also to put My Name in this place. I'll choose a place, and I'll put My Name in it, in this place that he's going to worship." [Deuteronomy 16:2]

E-47 Now, this shows that there is one place, just one. It must be God's choosing; it can't be ours. We have no choice coming; He's already chose it. Now, what God chooses is right. I can choose wrong, you can choose wrong, but God cannot. Choose right. After all, it's, He's the one that's being worshiped. And He's got the place where He wants His worshipers to meet there, and we must meet Him there. That's the only place that He stays; only place that He'll hear you from. [Deuteronomy 16:2, 6]

E-48 Let us notice here, also, "The place I've chosen to worship Me in, I'll put My Name in that place." [Deuteronomy 16:2]

E-49 Oh, now let us search the Scriptures for that place that He has His Name in. Now we have shadows and types, all through the Bible, we know that, of different places where He met the people, but that's not the place that He'll meet them today. Because they were only foreshadowing something, coming up to the real place where He's to meet the people, the place, the Church that He is to meet in. And there is a place, there is a Church, that God promised to meet the people in this place and answer their prayers, if they would just come to this place and worship Him.

E-50 Now we find out that there is many claim that--that they have the place, God's Name is in their place. But, you see, they put God's Name in there. There is a lot of difference between God putting His Name there, and somebody putting there, His Name there. See? We must remember that God said, He would put. "I have put My Name. I will put My Name in this place. And that's the place that I choose, and have chosen, that people should worship." [Deuteronomy 16:2]

E-51 This, bringing us now in view of these shadows of time, brings us Christ in view. All the Old Testament foreshadowed Jesus. In Egypt, that night when there was to be a--a passover lamb killed for the protection of the people, we realize that God had one place, one condition. No matter how young, how old a priest, a clergyman, whatever you was, you must be in this certain place. All outside that place, perished. You must be in this one place, a place that He provided.

E-52 Now, we could spend much time, this afternoon, in explaining that, which would be just reviewing what we already know, that how Christ foreshadowed in the types. The sacrificial Lamb, how it must be kept up, a male without blemish, and how it must be killed by the elders, and how that the blood must be sprinkled on the door, all foreshadowing the coming of Christ. And under this shed blood was the place that God met the worshiper, when the Death angel passed through the land. [Exodus 12:5-7, 12-13]

E-53 I believe that we're ready to go out of Egypt, one of these days, and go into this promised Land. And it's time that we got in the right place, and quit this here fussing around, "I'm Presbyterian. I'm Methodist. I'm Baptist. I'm this. I'm that or the other." Get out of it, and find where this place is, because there is death everywhere besides His chosen place. Death will strike just as sure as the world, if we're not in His chosen place. But where He chooses, death cannot come.

E-54 If you notice in the sacrificial lamb, death had already visit there. Death had come to this place because the lamb had died. Death had already visit. And so where death had visit, then God promised that would be His place. Then, Him in view, we see now what the sacrificial lamb was, what the place of life was at that time.

E-55 Now, to me, this denounces all arguments. With Christ being in view, being the sacrificial Lamb, then that denounces all denominations, all creeds, all dogmas, all church-anity. It denounces the whole thing. That's right, for we find, here, Him in view, for He is the pure unadulterated Word of God. Saint John 1, said, "In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us." Therefore He is God's unadulterated Word made flesh, made manifest. [John 1:1, 14]

E-56 And this in view, we could not attach that to any church in the world today, any denomination. Any place like that, we could not attach it, because it isn't so. We put Christ's Name upon a building, call it the churches of "Christ," and this, that, or the other. That doesn't make it so. That doesn't do it, at all. But when God puts His Name in something, that's what does it. [Deuteronomy 16:2]

E-57 Now, there is nothing in the Bible that would type our modern organizations, except Babylon. That's the only type in the Bible of our modern organization, organized religion, because it was founded by Nimrod and a forced unity amongst religious people. And that's what the creeds and our denominations do today, force unity, "You either belong to this or you're out!" And we're coming now, as we can see, to a forcing all into one great unity of it. But that is a mechanical made advice by a man, and it cannot stand. It is not God's will. It is not God's program, no matter how people try to say it is. It is not. It can't be. It's just impossible, for it to be. God wouldn't put His Name in such a thing as that that denys His Word. How can God live in something that denys His Own Word? You cannot do that. [Genesis 10:8-10]

E-58 So we find out, it doesn't attach to any church, Methodist, Baptist, Presbyterian, Pentecostal, Catholic, Greek Orthodox, whatever it may be. It's not God's place of worship, yet.

E-59 Now let God, Who made this promise, come forth and prove it, that it's right. That's the way to do it. If He is still God, He is still God! If He ever was God, He remains God!

E-60 And now we see this forced religion, right in view now, to bring all the little groups into "one great unity," they call it. Some of them believe in this, and some believe in that; and some deny this, and some deny that. The Bible said, "How can two walk together except they be agreed?" It'll never work. [Amos 3:3]

E-61 We've got to be in an agreement. And what in agreement with what? Not in agreement with one another, as much as we've got to be in agreement with the Word, with God. That's what it's got to be in the agreement with.

E-62 Now we find out, and a forced unity was represented by groups of people at Babylon. God cannot put His Name in such a thing as that. He never did and He never will. Though they tried it, they put their name into it, put His Name into it, but it's not so.

E-63 But we must find where He put His Name, for it is the place and the only place that He has provided for the Christians to come, and believing children, and worship Him in this place. What would this place be?

E-64 Now to back it up, we could take the entire Bible to back up what I'm going to say. For, the place that He chose is in Christ, in Jesus Christ. It is in Him, His Son; God's Son, Jesus Christ.

E-65 "Well," you said, "I thought the Scripture reads here that He said He would choose the place, and He would also put His 'Name' in that place." [Deuteronomy 16:2]

E-66 Well, the son always takes the father's name. My name is Branham because my father was Branham.

E-67 And Jesus said that He came in His Father's Name. Saint John 5:43, "I come in My Father's Name and you receive Me not," therefore there is where God placed His Name, under the sacrifice of His Own Son! That's God's only provided place. There is where people can meet God, is in Christ. That is His provided place. No denomination, no creed, no nothing else, God has promised to meet. Only in Jesus will He meet, for that's the only place His Name is. [John 5:43], [John 10:25]

E-68 We also hear Jesus, as I follow the Scripture out, in John, John the 5th chapter and 43rd verse, He said, "Another will come, and come in his name, and him you will receive." We can join a creed, "another," we can join a denomination, you'll receive him; but when you receive Jesus, it's different. "Another will come, 'I'll say I'm Methodist, I'm Baptist, I'm Presbyterian,' you'll receive that all right. But I come in My Father's Name, doing that what the Father said I would do, and you receive Me not." He said, "John came, and he had a great witness, but I have a greater witness in God--in God than what John did. For what the Father has given Me to do, that I do," the Words that was written of Him, what He must be in that day. For He was... [John 5:33, 36, 43], [John 17:4], [John 10:25]

E-69 His Name was God. God has many titles. God is a title, Itself, was called Jehovah-jireh, Jehovah-rapha, Jehovah-manasseh. He was called the Rose of Sharon, Lily of the Valley, Morning Star; Alpha, Omega, Beginning and End; then Father, Son, Holy Ghost; all these titles. , [Song of Solomon 2:1], [Revelation 22:13, 16], [Matthew 28:19]

E-70 But His Name, God's Name is "Jesus Christ," the Anointed One. That is His Name. He had many titles, but one Name, the only, "Not another Name under Heaven given among man, whereby you must be saved." We find that that's true.

E-71 Also this warning, that, "When this other one comes, that he come in his own name, 'Methodist, Baptist, Presbyterian, Pentecostal,' so forth, you'll receive him. You'll join up with him." But Christ is turned down. They turn That down. [John 5:43]

E-72 The prophet said! Let's trace his name a little bit. The prophet said, "His Name would be called 'Emmanuel.'" Now, Isaiah said that, about the 7th chapter. And also in Matthew 1:23, said, "This was all done, that it fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, 'His Name shall be called Emmanuel, which is by interpretation, "God with us."'" [Matthew 1:23], [Isaiah 7:14]

E-73 Emmanuel, and His Name was Jesus, God with us, with His Father's Name. He came in His Father's Name. There is where God placed His Name, in His Son. That's the only place that you can worship Him. The only place God will ever meet you, is in that Son which was typed by the sacrificial lamb. And all down through the Old Testament, all brought types of that one thing, that that place alone, God, alone, met under the sacrificial blood. Only place He met, the only place is He meets today; it's not in the name of creed, or in a name of a denomination, name of a church, or name of a group, or name of a society, but in the Name of "Jesus Christ!" [Isaiah 7:14], [John 5:43]

E-74 I tested that when I was a young man. I had often heard of spiritualism, of the Devil, how he does things. And I knew if there was a God, there must be a Devil, because the Bible said there was a Devil. And he, I thought... heard about these spiritualists. I went to some of them, found out they were phonies, nothing to it, just a big bunch of make-belief. But I found out there were some of them were real spiritualists. [Revelation 12:9]

E-75 And I was at a camp one time, where a minister and I went to see them in there. They had raised the table up from the floor, and had whisky glasses sitting over it; and taken that table, turned it back and forth. And a guitar flying through the building; people's clothes. Had had this up, in the room. Said, this medium said, "I challenge anybody to knock it down."

E-76 Two man said, "I'll get it down." They grabbed it around the legs like that, and tried to hold it. It wouldn't. Why, that table throwed them plumb across the floor.

E-77 Don't you just sit around. If you've never been a missionary and been on fields, only thing you know is just the thought of a Devil. If you look out here on some of these people walking around the streets, you can see him. But there is a Devil! Certainly is.

E-78 And people worship the Devil, don't even know what they're doing. They worship the Devil in churches, "Teaching for Doctrine the commandments of man, creeds--creeds and traditions." I said... [Matthew 15:9], [Mark 7:7]

E-79 This woman hollered over to me, and said, "They tell me you're a preacher."
I said, "I am."
She said, "Then if you don't..." Said, "What do you think about this?"
I said, "It's the Devil."
And she said, "Well, then, if you've got so much power, knock it down."
I said, "I don't have any power, at all. I have no power, but I'm here representing One."

E-80 I said, "Lord Jesus, You said, in Saint Mark the 16th chapter, 'In My Name they shall cast out devils.'" I said, "Now, that Your servant may know, as the battle lays before me!" [Mark 16:17]

E-81 I said, "I command that table to fall down, in the name of the 'holy Church,'" and it stayed right there. I said, "I command that table to fall down there, in the name of the 'Father, Son, and Holy Ghost,'" it stayed right there. I said, "I command that table to fall down, in the Name of 'Jesus Christ,'" and like to a-broke all four legs off, hitting the floor!

E-82 "In My Name they shall cast out devils!" That's the Name of the Father. He put His Name in Jesus Christ. And in Him He meets, to worship. In Him He meets, to cast out devils. In Him He meets, to heal the sick. In Him He meets, to save. In Him He meets, to save, fill with the Holy Ghost. That's God's only place to meet people for worship. Now we find out that Jesus said also that... The word, Name Jesus, means "Jehovah-Saviour," Jehovah the Saviour. [Mark 16:17-18]

E-83 Remember, "You shall not worship the Lord..." Why? Verse 5, "You shall not worship the Lord in any gates, that the Lord God giveth thee. Any gates, you shall not worship Him there," God said, in 5th verse here, of Deuteronomy 16. "Thou shall not worship Him in any gates, that the Lord God giveth thee. He give you these things for temptations." We're going to get into that, this week, the Lord willing, see whether God takes His Word back, or not. Notice, He give you them gates, but don't worship the Lord in any of those gates, because the Lord thy God ain't going to meet you there. [Deuteronomy 16:5]

E-84 But the Lord God has chosen the gate. He has chosen the door. Jesus said, in Saint John the 10th chapter, "I am the door to the sheepfold. I am that door." He is Jehovah-Saviour. [John 10:7]

E-85 Now we could go on here for hours, explaining that. But I'm sure you understand it, by your action, that you--you respond to the Truth and to the Word. So we'll not go any further, you can take it anywhere you wish to. Everywhere you come, if it's the Truth, it'll fall right back in line with the rest of the Word. You can't make the Bible say one thing one place, and something else another, it's contrary to what He said first. It must be the same all the time.

E-86 I'm omitting a lot of Scripture here on this, just because I see it's getting late. And our sister and them is having service here tonight, and we want to pray for the sick. That is, and find out, Billy, if they got some prayer cards.

E-87 [Someone says, "No service tonight."--Ed.] No service. Good. Good, good. All right. Now let's find it. All right. All right. [Congregation applauds] We trust that the Lord will bless this lady for this, letting us have this place, giving us this time.

E-88 There is so many infallible proofs that Jesus is the place. He is the gate, He is the Name, and the only provided way that God has for man to meet in worship. He is the Way, the Truth, the Life; the Gate, the Door; the Alpha, Omega, the Beginning and the Ending; Rose of Sharon, the Lily of the Valley, the Morning Star; the Alpha, Omega. He is all, the whole thing put together. He is both Root and Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star. In Him dwells the fulness of the Godhead, bodily, where we in there are sons and daughters to God, in God's Godhead. Yes. As sons and daughters, we're in the family, if you're in there. [John 14:6], [John 10:7], [Revelation 1:8, 11], [Revelation 22:13, 16], [Song of Solomon 2:1], [Colossians 2:9], [Romans 8:17]

E-89 Now how do we get into this great place to worship? That's the next question. How do we get into this place, if Jesus is the place? He is the Name of God. He is the place of God's worship. And He is the only door to the sheephold. And we want to find out how we get into Him then. [John 10:7]

E-90 Now, if you're into the door, of course, you come in like the family, as we was talking the other day about, the... or at the breakfast, about the little sheep, that God would not close the door until He found that last little sheep and brought him in. If you've come in, then you become a family. You're a family of God when you've come into God. But you can't be a family of God and be Presbyterian, Methodist, Baptist, and Pentecostal. You can't do it. You have to come into Jesus Christ. [Luke 15:4], [Matthew 18:12-14]

E-91 "Well," you say, "we did it." We'll see if you did it.
Let's find out what the Bible says now. We find, in First Corinthians, the 12th chapter, the Bible said, "By one Spirit are we all baptized into one Body." We're baptized into the Body of Christ, by one Holy Spirit. We're not shook in, we're not joined in, we're not baptized with water in. We are baptized with the Holy Ghost, into the Body of Jesus Christ. [I Corinthians 12:12-13]

E-92 How long does it last when you get in There, until you misbehave yourself? Ephesians 4:30 says, "Grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby you are sealed until the day of your redemption." Argue with Him, not me. That's what It says. I'm reading It. All right. "You're sealed until the day of your redemption," until the day that Jesus comes for you. Then think of it! [Ephesians 4:30]

E-93 You are then not yourself, you are a new creature, for the Greek there means "a new creation." You've been re-created again. The power of God comes upon you, and you become created, a new creature; which brings the whole physical being, spiritual being and everything, in subject to the Word of God. Not no other way! [II Corinthians 5:17]

E-94 How can you say that you're a Christian, and disobey His Word in one thing? Whosoever disobeyed the law in one--one part of It, was guilty of all of It. Whosoever! Jesus said, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceeds out of the mouth of God." Not just part of the Words; every Word! That He said in Revelation the 22nd chapter, "Whosoever shall take one Word out of this Book, or add one word to It, his--his part will be taken out of the Book of Life." We are not to take away from the Bible, or add to It. Just say what It says. , [Matthew 4:4], [Revelation 22:18-19]

E-95 And in First Corinthians 12, It said, "By one Spirit we are all baptized into one Body." [I Corinthians 12:13]

E-96 Now after you're in this Body, Romans 8:1 said, "There is therefore now no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus, that walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." There is the place where there is no condemnation. Whether you go to a Methodist, Baptist, Presbyterian church, wherever it is; if you are in Christ, you are a new creature, and there is no condemnation in you, no where at all. That's God's meeting place. That's where God meets the worshiper. There is where you are accounted a new creature, for they're dead to the things of the world. They're alive in Him. The living Presence of God is with them, day by day. [Romans 8:1]

E-97 He lives in them, through every age. Every age that's come along, down through the Bible, when man meet God's requirement, comes into the place to where He provided in His written Word for that day, God makes that person to be a new creature, and he has no condemnation. Look at Job.

E-98 Am I deafening you, the way I'm in these mikes? I'm sorry about it. I know it's the rebound in here. I hear it here, myself.

E-99 But, look. Job, regardless of how many people try to condemn him, how many said he was wrong, he was keeping the commandment of God, by that burnt-offering. He knowed he was justified, because he was keeping the commandments of God. That's how he was justified, because he was doing the things that God wanted him to do. [Job 1:5]

E-100 The living Presence of God lights up the day, every day, from death of creeds, and to Life and to the Word of the day. Now, God has things that He does.

E-101 As a--a little flower, like I said the other morning at the breakfast. When a seed comes to light, he starts growing. It drinks from God's fountain, keeps pushing up till it gets to the bud part, gets up into the flower, up into the blossom.

E-102 Now we find out, that when we start with Christ, we grow the same way, because we grow in grace and in admonition of God. [II Peter 3:18]

E-103 God's only provided plan, for any age, is His Word. His Son came and manifested every promise that was promised for His age. All the prophets came just exactly on time, they was God's Word living on earth. They was the Word. Jesus said that they were "gods." Jesus called those prophets, "gods." , [John 10:34-35]

E-104 A man met me in the last meeting I had, he said, "You're a poor theologian."

E-105 And I said, "I don't claim to be one." I said, "The Word don't come to a theologian; theology does." The Word comes... See? I said, "Just theology comes to a theologian. But," I said, "we're talking about something else." [Amos 3:7]

E-106 Now we find that, in each age, when God said a certain, thing would happen, here come that man along and manifested that, here come their people along and lived that. That was God Himself living in the people, because it was an answering of His Word. [Romans 1:19], [Romans 8:19]

E-107 Now, God's only provided and only provided plan, today, is His Son, through His Word for this age, quickened by the Spirit of His life, quickened.

E-108 Now we have great schools of theology. And many times when we do that... Nothing against it, certainly not. But, you see, when you got a school of theology...

E-109 Jesus said, in Saint John 4, "The time is coming, and now is, when God, being a Spirit, will be worshiped in Spirit and in Truth." Now some people have Spirit, no Truth. Others has Truth, no Spirit. [John 4:23-24]

E-110 So it's just like if we had a big car, we were going somewhere in a Cadillac. And both Cadillacs was made just alike, and we pushed them out here and we... up to the tanks, and we filled them both up with gasoline. And you crank and crank on one. Well, you look out, say, "The seat is all right. The steering wheel is pretty, it's got diamond studs in it. And plush, sit... sets pretty. And you sit back and go to sleep. And, oh, a lot of things you could do, each one, but, you see, one of them... All of them has the right mechanics, but one of them has the dynamics. You see, you might know the mechanics, but it takes the dynamics to start off the mechanics, to make them work.

E-111 And that's what's the matter with the church today. We're full of theology, without any dynamics in it. That's right. See?

E-112 In other words, you've got to have the spark to the gasoline, or the gasoline is no more than... It's not even as good as water, as long as it hasn't got the spark to fire it. So, that's the way.

E-113 No matter how well we're taught, how well we'll believe, and how much of the Bible that we say is true, and we believe it all true, it's got to be the--the dynamics has got to be there, the spark, to set that Word afire and make it start rolling. It's got to have that. If you don't, the church sits still, the car sits still, you'll sit still. But no matter how much you say, "I sympathize. I believe every Word of That." You've got to have something to spark that off, to make that one hundred octane go to firing, and the big Church of God go to moving on. It's got to take the dynamics with the mechanics. Nothing wrong with the mechanics, but lacking dynamics.

E-114 And I think that's what's the matter with the church today, we're lacking that dynamical power, to press this Word and make It live for this day.

E-115 Martin Luther had the mechanics and dynamics, of his day. John Wesley had them, of his day. Pentecostal had them, with their day.

E-116 What about our day? This is another time! The Church should be fully grown now, ready to go meet Christ, with the manifestation of every blessing that He promised in the Bible, operating in that one great Body where He promised that He would meet the people and be worshiped, in this great Church of His.

E-117 But, you see, we send our kids away to school, we learn reading, writing, arithmetic, all the history of the prophets and everything. That's alright, but unless you got something behind that!

E-118 "Oh," you say, "well, I--I shouted. I spoke with tongues." That's good. I believe that, too. But that's not what I'm talking about yet. See, you'll--you'll... it'll splutter. You say, "Plank-plank, boomp-boomp," like an old car trying to start. You say, "Yeah, I believe this. I believe that, too. But, but when it comes to this, them days, oh, no. No!"

E-119 She's a hundred octane, brother, with a right kind of a generator behind her, it'll fire every Word of God to Its promise. That's right.

E-120 That's what's the matter with us today, we almost come to a stop. We want to believe this, believe that.

E-121 I say something, about This. "Well, I don't know." Well, the Bible said so! That settles it. If God said so, it's there to be done. If we... If that's what God said do, we've got to do that. Just stay there till God fires it off, and directly you start running then again, you see. If you don't, you get the plugs all smutted up. And so we need something different, we need something to fire us off.

E-122 Then notice, not only does He come in by the Holy Spirit, with the learning of His Word, He manifests that Word. Now remember, the prophets believe the Word. They receive the Word of God. And God the Holy Spirit came into them and fired that promise out, and made it come to pass. Oh, my! Who is going to condemn that? , [John 6:63]

E-123 Jesus said, "Who can condemn Me of sin? Sin is 'unbelief.' Whatever God wrote and whatever the prophets said, I'm the Answer. What they said I'd do, I do." He came as a prophet, the Son of man. That's exactly what He was, and what He proved to be. He was. Why? The dynamics was there to fire off the mechanics. He was the mechanics, the Son Himself, and the Father was the dynamics. "It's not Me that doeth the works, it's My Father that dwelleth in Me. He splatters forth the--the--the dynamics and makes the thing move on. He brings it to pass." [John 8:46], [John 14:10]

E-124 "When did I ever say anything..." Like Samuel said one time to the people, "Have I ever told you anything, in the Name of the Lord, but what come to pass?" See? "When did I ever say it, and when did it not happen to come to pass?" [I Samuel 12:3-4]

E-125 "Oh, you, what you told us come to pass, but we want the king anyhow." [I Samuel 8:19-20]

E-126 That's the way it is today. People want to hold onto their petty ideas. They want to hold onto their creeds. They want to hold onto it. Then talking about a revival in our day, how can we have a revival when it's all messed up the way it is? Watered gasoline and everything else in it, all kinds of detergents and all these modernistic things mixed into it.

E-127 I was coming down the road one day, and it said, some kind of modern detergent, said, "You don't have to wash the dishes, the only thing you have to do is dip them in there and dip them out."

E-128 I thought, "I'm going to be a hero in my house." I go and get me a box of this stuff.
And I said to the wife, "Go on in, honey, let me wash the dishes."

E-129 I thought, "Boy, them guys know what they're talking about, them scientists. I'll show her how. I'll, she'll... till she catches onto this, what I'm doing. Just dip it in and sit it out, that's all you have to do."

E-130 The kids had eat eggs for breakfast. And I poured this detergent in there, and dipped it in, dipped it out, and dipped it in and dipped it out. It was still eggy. Yes, sir. I don't believe anything I hear on television, no more. No, sir. No, no. No, indeed.

E-131 That's the reason I don't believe any man-made system can stand. God has got one provided way. It isn't Methodist, Baptist, Presbyterian; but it's Jesus Christ, by the new Birth, believing that Bible. That's God's provided way, and the only way that He has, is in Jesus Christ, His Son. And, in His Son, He placed His Name. His! God's Name is Jesus, 'cause He came in His Father's Name. And so that would be God's Name, because He was God. [John 5:43]

E-132 Now notice, when this great moving power of God comes into a son of God, it quickens him, the Spirit of Life enters into him. Then what does it do? It seats them in Heavenly places, right now. Not they "will be." We are now. Now we've already resurrected, the dynamics and the mechanics is gone to work, quickened us, and we're quickened up into the Presence of God, where His Spirit is. And now we are seated together in Heavenly places, in Christ Jesus; in Christ Jesus, sitting in there, that great seat that's already fired up, been raised from the dead. We're a part of it. If you're a part of the Bride, you are, because the Bride is part of the Groom, you know. So we find out that it's the same thing, and She'll do just exactly what's predicted for Her to do in this day. She won't be a Laodicea, not by no means a lukewarm. But She'll be on fire for God, She'll be moving on in the Spirit of God. , [John 6:63], [Ephesians 2:1, 5-6], [Colossians 2:13]

E-133 Now we're looking here now to find out. Now let us, now at this same time that it does, that this strikes us; and, when, we're once dead in sin and trespassing, trespasses, rather, he... we been quickened together unto His Word of this age. [Ephesians 2:1, 5]

E-134 Now let us think about way back in the old times, of somebody that was quickened by this Word; just before we have the prayer service for the sick. Let's take a few characters, watch their characteristic.

E-135 Let's take a man here that kept all the Word of God, back in the Old Testament, by the name of Enoch. He was so quickened by the Word of God, that he had a testimony, that, "He pleased God." There wasn't one thing that God commanded Enoch to do but what he did it. [Hebrews 11:5]

E-136 I wonder how many Enoch's would be here this afternoon, that, if you know it's in the Word of God? How many of you bobbed-haired women could call yourself an Enochist, see, see, and know that God condemns that? How many of you man, that let's them women do that, could call yourself an Enoch? Oh, my! That's just one thing, how about the thousands? And we smother down, say, "I belong to this, and I belong to that." You may belong to that, but... till you come into God's provided place! And you can't get in there unless you become part of that Word. And, being part of It, you become all of It, subject to all. Notice, we have this here that the Bible calls "the Word of God," and, which, it is the Word of God. [Hebrews 11:5]

E-137 Now we find out that Enoch come into God's provided way, with His Word, and walked five hundred years, and pleased Him. And we find out that the mechanics was so perfect in Him, that when the dynamics got to working in the engine, It just took him off the earth. He took the first airplane flight, like, to Heaven. Working on God's mechanics and dynamics, together, "he was not," because God took him out of the earth, without death. That's exactly right. He was walking in God's provided way. [Genesis 5:23-24]

E-138 The same thing we find out on Elijah. Old Elijah had bawled out so many of those painted-face Jezebel's, and haircuts, and so forth, that they were using of that day, the old man had spent his life just condemning sin amongst them women, because they had a woman, Jezebel, there to set a pace. [II Kings 9:30-37]

E-139 Just about like your Hollywood here has, and got all the sisters all wound up into it out there. And, the Jezebel still lives, you can just look around and you can see she does. And she is still in great power, too.

E-140 Now we find out, the old fellow being a prophet, he had cursed that thing and everything, stayed perfectly in the will of God. When all the rest of the preachers weakened off, he stayed right there with It.

E-141 And one day he got so tired, that, God sent a chariot down from Heaven, and horses of fire, and took him up. He was so full of that quickening power! Just think, with the Word of God in his heart, he become so full of that quickening power that quickened him! , [II Kings 2:11]

E-142 "If the Spirit of God, He..." I believe we find in Romans, 11, or one, 11... "If," it says, "if the Spirit..." Romans 8:11, it is. "If the Spirit that raised up Jesus from the dead be in you, it will also quicken your mortal bodies. If the Spirit that raised up Jesus from the dead, if--if It be in you, It'll also quicken your mortal bodies." [Romans 8:11]

E-143 Quickened it! What does the word quick mean? The Greek word means, "to be brought to life after death." Hallelujah. There's the gate of worship. Worshiping in the Spirit and in Truth, mechanics and dynamics, together. You see what I mean?

E-144 "If the Spirit that raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, It will quicken, make alive, your mortal bodies, because It's already Life." And when It comes into your body, It brings your whole body subject to It. Subject to what? The Word of God. "If it's in you." [Romans 8:11], [Ephesians 2:1, 5-6], [Colossians 2:13]

E-145 Now if it's something in you, telling you, "Well, that was the days past. And Mark 16 is not true, and that Pentecostal idea of the baptism of the Holy Ghost." That ain't the Spirit of God in you. I don't care how well you're trained, you, that's not the Spirit of God. You say, "Well, my mother belonged to this, and my father, through years, and my brother." Whatever you want to say about your relatives, and so forth, that might have been all right with them; but it ain't for you, see, you've got to this day come into Christ Jesus, for this age and the promise that's meant for this age.

E-146 Notice, we find out that this great quickening power struck Enoch, it quickened him and he went Home without dying. [Genesis 5:24]

E-147 It struck Elijah, quickened him till he went Home without dying.
We find out his successor was Elisha, which is a type there of Christ and the Church, Elisha. Elijah done four miracles, and Elisha done eight miracles. He had a double portion, like was poured out upon the Church. [Blank.spot.on.tape--Ed.] Later they had a dead man, throwed it over on his bones, and he come to life. That quickening power was in the grave with him. You can't... , [II Kings 13:21]

E-148 It's always there, when you get that quickening power of God, being quickened up with Him now. , [Ephesians 2:1, 5], [Colossians 2:13]

E-149 Now remember, in Christ, we are flesh of His flesh, bone of His bones. When God wounded Christ at Calvary, He was wounded for me and you. We are flesh of His flesh, and bone of His bone, body of His body, Name of His Name, Bride of Him. See, we are in Him, we are His flesh and His bones. [Isaiah 53:5], [Ephesians 5:30]

E-150 And God has already raised us up, potentially. The quickening power that raised us from a life of sin, and changed our being, it has potentially raised us up in Christ Jesus, which, the resurrection will bring us forth in the fully maturity.

E-151 Now remember, we died in our own name, was buried, and raised in His. See, we're no more of our own. Of which, that great Name of "Jesus Christ" which the Bible said over here in Ephesians 1:21, that, "Both families, in Heaven and earth, is named after that Name." That's where God put His Name. That's the family's Name in Heaven. That's the family's Name on earth. [Ephesians 1:21]

E-152 And we're in Jesus Christ, by spiritual baptism, not by water; by Spirit, we are baptized into one Body, which is Christ, the worshiping place. Then, being in there, we are being on this ground, it's like the abstract deed. [I Corinthians 12:13], [Colossians 2:12]

E-153 You say, "I bought a piece of ground." It isn't yours yet until you got an abstract. But if you got an abstract, it shows that everything was ever against that piece of ground has been stricken off.

E-154 And then when you've become a Christian and accept Christ as your Saviour, then, when God sends down the abstract, it shows that no matter what your father did, your mother did, what anybody else did; your mother, daddy might have been drunkards, prostitutes; whatever it was, every sin is stricken off! You've got an abstract title. There is nothing can put you off of it. And, look, everything that's on that ground belongs to you! Amen. And when you're in Christ Jesus, by the baptism of the Holy Ghost, every gift of God belongs in the Church. Amen. It's an abstract title deed. You, it's yours, it belongs to you. It quickens your mortal bodies. Oh, my, if we'd think of it! [Acts 2:38], [Ephesians 1:14], [II Corinthians 1:22]

E-155 Let us take a look at those faithful ones at Pentecost. They were all in the upper room there, and they was all scared. They had, they had the--the title, alright, but they were afraid. "And all at once there came a sound from Heaven," the abstract sent down to them, "like a rushing mighty wind, filled all the house where they were sitting." And they were so quickened by That, till all their cowardliness they were... One of them was even afraid, they even denied he wasn't a Pharisee yet, or he wasn't a Sadducee yet. But when that Holy Ghost fell and baptized him into Jesus Christ, he became flesh of His flesh, bone of His bone, Word of His Word. He was a new creation. He was a new person. It quickened his body. [Acts 2:1-3]

E-156 Look what It did, what It does to you when It comes in. It don't make you go out and say, "I'm Methodist. I'm Baptist. Oh, I know I oughtn't to smoke. I oughtn't to have this. I oughtn't to wear these kind of clothes. I oughtn't to do this. I oughtn't to do that." It so quickens you till you have to do it. It quickens your mortal bodies.

E-157 Look, It quickened their bodies, until they flew so close to Heaven till It quickened their body to speak in a language they never heard of before. It quickened their bodies, they spoke in new Heavenly language. They were quickened into the Presence of God, by the baptism of the Holy Ghost. God's quickening power baptized them into that. They were in the place of worship then. They were where they could worship. The Sanhedrin or nothing else ever could bother them, because they were quickened. They were new people. That's after they was baptized. [Acts 2:4], [Romans 8:11], [Ephesians 2:1, 5], [Colossians 2:13]

E-158 Look at little Stephen. He come into God's provided way, was quickened by the power of God; come into the gate, God's provided way. And even when they went to kill him, stone him to death, he said, "I see Heavens opened, Jesus standing at the right hand of God." That's quickening power. He was quickened up into His bosom. [Acts 7:55]

E-159 There was Philip, another one full of the quickening power. We find him down there at Samaria, holding a great revival. This great quickening power, after he was in Christ, come where he had thousands of people listening at him. And He said, "Now leave here, Philip, I want you to go out into this desert, Gaza, here. I got a man out there, want you to meet." And no question, no question at all, he was full of that quickening power. He was in Christ, he was in the provided place where God could talk to him. God spoke to him. There was no question. [Acts 8:5, 26]

E-160 Say, "Well, He spoke to me and told me I was going to be healed, but, I don't know now, I feel awful bad today." Oh, my! "Well, He told me I had the Holy Ghost, and sometimes I sure doubt it."

E-161 Philip knowed exactly the Voice of God, 'cause he had come God's provided way. He didn't question God, about, "Well, God, I got so many here, I have to stand. I have to see the state presbyter before I can do it. I have to go talk to the bishop," wasn't nothing about it. He minded God, right out into the desert he went! [Acts 8:26-27]

E-162 He found one man, a eunuch, an Ethiopian, a colored man coming down, reading the Scripture in Isaiah. And he said, "Do you understand what you're reading?"
Said, "How can I unless someone would teach me?" [Acts 8:26-29]
Philip got up on the chariot and begin to talk to him about the Lord.
He said, "Here is water, what hinders me from being baptized?" [Acts 8:36]
He said, "If thou believest with all thy heart, all thy soul and mind, strength." Got off the chariot and baptized him. [Acts 8:37]

E-163 And Philip was so full of that quickening power, till, He caught him out of his sight. Think! In his mortal body, his physical being was caught up, out of the sight of the eunuch. I believe that to be the truth. God could take him somewhere else, where He had need of him. He was caught up. [Acts 8:39]

E-164 You know, death can't even take that thing away from you, when you're in Christ, in God's place. [I Corinthians 15:55-56], [II Corinthians 4:14]

E-165 Look here, Moses had it. He was a prophet that the Word of the Lord came to. No many... how many Korah's raised up and said, "We need a great organization. Now you try to take the place of being the only holy man." God said, "Separate yourself, I'll just swallow him up." And the Dathan's, and so forth, didn't bother him, he went right on. , [Numbers 16:21]

E-166 And when Moses died and was buried, by the Angels, that quickening power stayed on him. For, eight hundred years later, here he is over in the promised land, talking to Jesus. That quickening power was still on him. That's God's place of worship. [Deuteronomy 34:5-6], [Matthew 17:1-3]

E-167 "What say? How did you know?" He was a prophet. The Word came to the prophet. And he was the manifested Word of God for his age. Amen. [Amos 3:7]

E-168 See, you can't die, you're done quickened. Oh, if the church could only see that, that it's not what you're going to be, you already are! It's the Devil trying to rob you from that.

E-169 "Well," say, "now I'll tell you. I belong to this." Don't care what you belong to.

E-170 You've got to be borned, regenerated, baptized with the Holy Ghost, into Jesus Christ, quickened to every Word. Your Spirit, in you, will punctuate "amen" to every Word of the Bible. Outside of that, if it--if it shakes its head on one, you get rid of that spirit. It's not the Spirit of God that would dispute the Word of God. It'll keep the Word of God. Not only does it believe It, but It makes It live. It manifests the Word of God. Yes, sir. [John 3:3]

E-171 Notice also them saints of the Old Testament. Potentially, under the old sacrifice, they were waiting for this new one to come, had a good conscience towards God. In Matthew 27, we're told that, when Jesus raised and come out of the grave. Which, we just celebrated a few weeks ago, Easter. The Bible said that, "Many of the saints that was sleeping in the dust of the earth, raised up at His resurrection, and come into the city and appeared to many." What were they? They were manifestations of God's promised Word. The only place that God meets, under that sacrifice. [Matthew 27:52-53]

E-172 Now in First Thessalonians 4:16, the Bible said, also, that the New Testament saints would come forth with Him when He comes again, them that's quickened into Him now. How do you get into Him? By spiritual baptism, the power of God, the place that He meets, in Jesus. Now Jesus is God's provided way. [I Thessalonians 4:16]

E-173 Now notice, Jesus was so sure what He was! He knowed He was the Son of God. He knowed He was virgin born. He knowed that every Scripture manifested Itself right through Him. He knowed it so perfectly, till He said to them builders of the temple, that day, He said, "You destroy this temple, and I'll raise it up in three days." Think of that. "Destroy it, and I'll raise it up in three days." Why? It was a written Word of Him. [John 2:19]

E-174 David said, "I'll not leave My Holy One in hell, not leave His soul in hell, neither will I suffer My Holy One to see corruption." [Psalms 16:10]

E-175 Now, Jesus knowed that that was He. No question in His mind. And He knowed that, seventy-two hours, the body corrupts, sometime within that seventy-two hours He was going to come back to life again, so He said, "You destroy this temple, I'll raise it up again in three days." Why? The Word was written of Him. It was written of Him, because He was the manifestation of God's written Word for that day. [John 2:19]

E-176 Well, there's got to be, hallelujah, there's got to be, brother, there somewhere, God's manifested Word of God today. And that's the same thing, for He spoke of these days and He said what would take place in these days. He has already told us. We know what's going to take place. And we see it being manifested in you, then you're in God's Church. Outside of that, you could call yourself, "Methodist, Baptist," or anything else, it'll never work. There was only one meeting place, that's in Christ Jesus. Oh, today, oh, how today that I would that everybody would see that, see how to get in, being baptized. The Bride is part of her Husband. The Church is a part of the Word, the manifestation.

E-177 Now what church are you in? Are you in a denomination? If you are, I'll strictly tell you now, you're in Laodicea. But if you're in Christ, you're a new creature, and you're in the Church of the living God, with the manifestation of the very same things that He did in His day will be coming back here in this day, doing the same thing that He said It would do. Then, that is the real Church. You get into It by spiritual baptism, not by joining, not by some more, but by being baptized by the Holy Ghost into His Body. All right. It's God's only provided way that He has left for us to do, is to be baptized into His Body, by His Spirit. [Acts 2:38]

E-178 Jesus said, in Saint John 14:12, "He that believeth, while he is in Me!" No wonder people say the days of miracles is passed, no wonder they say these things. "He that believeth in Me, not believe on Me, but believe in Me, the works that I do shall he do also." Why? It's His Life. It's His dynamics in His mechanics, that's in you, that fires it off, makes it go and do the works that it promised do. Or, my life in Him, has quickened me by His Spirit, to make His Word, which is the mechanics, work by His dynamics. Hebrews 13:8, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." [John 14:12], [Hebrews 13:8], [Ephesians 2:1]

E-179 Now also in Mark the 17th chapter, the 30th verse, of Saint Mark. Listen close. Jesus promised these things in the last day, that He's "the same yesterday and forever." He promised, in Malachi 4, that He would "turn the hearts of the people, in the last days, back to the Faith of the fathers." He promised that. He promised, so many places in the Bible, the things that He would do. "Yet a little while and the world seeth Me no more, yet you will see Me; I'll be with you, in you always, even to the end of the world." And notice in Saint Luke again, 17:30, "As it was in the days of Sodom!" [Luke 17:29-30], [Malachi 4:5-6], [Hebrews 13:8], [Matthew 28:20], [John 14:19]

E-180 You know what happened in Sodom? Look at California; not only California, the United States; not only in the United States, but the world.

E-181 Look at this teen-age insane! Why, we had a... I told you the other day, they was taking an analysis there of the schools in Arizona where I live, and eighty percent of the children in school is mentally retarded. What will their children be? We can't have another generation. We're at the end. Jesus said these things would come.

E-182 Look at all the televisions and things getting these fictitious things in order. It'll come a time, I predict, that people will be completely, totally insane, the world will be. The Bible speaks of such hideous sights as they show in movies today of some prehistoric creature's age, that's lived in the earth for so many thousands and millions of years, hatch and come forth to some... That's just a minor thing, to what's going to happen. When hell is opened and the Devil comes out with all of his mysterious things, of women... or locust with hair like women, and teeth like lions. Why, the world will be completely, totally insane. It's not but just about one degree from it now. [Revelation 9:8]

E-183 Oh, for the glory of God, for the Coming of the Lord Jesus, for the Holy Ghost, for the know-so, for the living Presence of the living God! , [James 5:7-8]

E-184 Jesus said, in Saint Mark there, He said, "In that day the Son of man will be revealed." Now, remember, not Son of God. He came in three sons' names: Son of man, Son of God, Son of David. When He was on earth, He come as Son of man, He was a prophet. Son of man is a prophet. Jehovah Himself called the prophets, Jeremiah and them, "Son of man, what seest thou?" Jesus come, because He had to come according to the Scripture, as Son of man. Moses said, "The Lord your God shall raise up a Prophet, likened unto me." And He had to be a prophet, Son of man. , [Luke 17:30], [Acts 3:22]

E-185 But after His death, burial, and resurrection, now He has been Son of God, the supernatural, the Holy Ghost. , [Acts 2:33]

E-186 But He promised, just before the coming of the end time, the world would get like it was in Sodom, when a Man came down in human form; three of them, two Angels and God Himself. That was God. The Bible said it was. Now He came down and He manifested Himself there, by turning His back to the--the tent where Sarah was, and told Abraham what Sarah was thinking in the tent. That right? [Congregation says, "Amen."--Ed.] Now, Jesus Himself said, "At the day when the Son of man is being revealed," in other words, "the Son of man, the ministry of Jesus Christ Hisself." [Genesis 18:2, 13], [Luke 17:30]

E-187 The church will come through justification, through Luther; through sanctification, through Wesley; through the baptism of the Holy Ghost, or the Pentecostals; and go right on into the perfection of the Son of man, that when Husband and Wife will be the same-self persons. God will be so manifested into His Bride, His Church, till they will both be the same. They are one. Now you see where we're at. [Matthew 5:48], [Ephesians 4:13], [Ephesians 5:25-27, 30-32]

E-188 Don't hold to them traditions and creeds. They were alright in their day, but the flower has bloomed to a blossom now. It's seed time. That's right.

E-189 Jesus promised these things. Now when we see God make His promise live before us, and see that it's in us, and His Spirit is living in us; that is the only way of worship, only place of worship, the only true way you can worship, "For there is no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus." God made the promise. Jesus said, "The things that I do, you'll do also," and what He would do in the last day. It traveled over three bodies of water, three forms of baptism. Oh, yes, from Asia, over into Europe; from Europe, over into England; and from England, over into the United States.

E-191 And now we've come right straight back again, and here we sit this afternoon, on the West Coast, where the sin barrier of all the powers of darkness heaps in here. These movies and television casts, and man kissing women on there, and poisoning the minds of little girls.

E-192 Did you know any man that kisses a woman is morally obligated to marry her? Potentially it's a sex act. Sure, it is. Yes, sir. What is it? It's the male glands in a man's lip, and the female glands. When male and female glands comes together, it's sex.

E-193 Look on Hollywood, look at the little girls laying out here in the parks, and the boys wallowing around over these girls, and things like that, and even singing in choirs. And these Elvis Presley's, and so forth, that we have today, it's a disgrace to the name of America, to what our forefathers fought and bled and died for.

E-194 But the hour is come that every kingdom has to give away, because there is a Kingdom of God that's established in the human heart, by the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the Presence of Jesus Christ. And Christ will come to His Bride and will set up a Kingdom here on earth, that will never be diminished. How do you get into this Kingdom? You are borned into it. How do you know it? You just keep... How would you belong into a kingdom and disagree with the king? See, you would be... And the King is the Word. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh and dwelled among us. The same yesterday, today, and forever." [John 1:1, 14]

E-195 How did they know He was the Son of man? He'd look out there upon the audience and perceive what they were thinking about. We know that's true. He is the same today. Do you believe that? [Congregation says, "Amen."--Ed.] [John 4:18-19]

E-197 I'll tell you. If you've got faith enough, I've got faith to believe that God, Who made the promise, can prove Hisself to be God right here, without any person coming to this platform. I feel to take the initiative, on account of the promise of the Word of the living God. Look at here, let me show you something. This quickening power, we're going to exercise It. Let me show you. How many believes you got that quickening power? [Congregation says, "Amen."--Ed.] Well, what's the matter with your hands upon the sick?

E-198 When them disciples received quickening power upon them, on the Day of Pentecost, what did they do? They went out and layed hands on the sick, and they recovered. Jesus said, in Mark 16, "It'll continue on to the end of the world." How long, to the apostles' age? "Go ye into all the world, preach the Gospel to every creature. These signs will follow them that believe; if they lay their hands upon the sick, they shall recover." That's the quickening power like was on Elijah's bones, Elisha's bones. And the same quickening power is upon the saints that raised them up. If that same quickening power is in us, lay your hands on the sick, they shall recover. [Mark 16:17-18], [Acts 2:1-4], [Romans 8:11]

E-199 I've noticed here, I've almost quit having discernment, anymore, just lay my hands on the sick. I've been noticing when, my, things I never... I didn't get to one-third of the people, otherwise. This way, I get to more than I ever did get to. And I find out a better results, by just getting myself into God's arms, and saying, "Lord God, You promised it. It's Your promise; it's not mine, it's Yours, and You promised You would do it. And I've seen You do it. And I'm going to believe You're going to do it, because I've been baptized into Your Body, and Your Spirit here to identify that that's the Truth." Amen. That's the place of worship. Then you get into a place, "all things are possible." Then you get into a place that your--that your motives and objectives, for your achievements, is just exactly in the will of God. And when you lay your hands there and believe it, it's going to happen. Do you believe that? [Congregation says, "Amen."--Ed.] [Romans 9:23], [Matthew 19:26]

E-200 I believe, before one prayer card is called, or anything else, that God Almighty can tell me what you've got out there, and what you ought to do, and what you ought not have done. That's taking the initiative, right, I know that's right, but that's exactly what God would have us to do. Do you believe that? [Congregation says, "Amen."--Ed.] How many would believe it if God would do it? ["Amen!"]

E-201 There is not a person sitting in front of me that I know, that I can think of, or see anybody that I really know. How many knows, out here, we're all strangers, raise your hands. Know that I don't know nothing about you, raise up your hands. Anywhere in the audience, knows I know nothing about you. I guess it's everywhere, especially up in here. Now maybe the other people just... I don't know them. They just didn't raise their hands, but I--I--I don't know them, anyhow. I believe I do see Richard Blair sitting right here. I believe that's right. I can... It's dark down there. There is lights this way. I don't see.

E-202 But look at here, I'm trying to tell you, that, when that quickening power comes into you, it's Jesus Christ. When Jesus layed His hands on the sick, they got well.

E-203 When Jesus had quickening power to quicken Him, as a Man, He could look out and tell the thoughts that was upon the people, tell them what they were thinking about, what they done. Have His back turned to them, tell them the same thing, "Why do you reason in your hearts?" The woman touched His garment, He said, "Who touched Me?" He looked around and found her, and said, "I perceive virtue has gone out of Me. Your faith has made you whole." That's Jesus Christ. That proves that where the church is, and what the real quickening power of God does to the human being. Do you believe that? [Congregation says, "Amen."--Ed.]

E-204 Dear God, we've had a fight with Satan this afternoon, on these microphones, knowing them people probably didn't get half of it, the bounding around on the... in the building like that. But I pray, God, that the Holy Spirit will take that which was meant to be, Lord, to let the people see that we're not some dead dragging bunch of hope-so's. God, we are alive now, quickened by the power of the resurrection of Christ. Jesus Christ lives in us. We believe that, Lord. , [Ephesians 2:1, 5], [Colossians 2:13]

E-205 We claim no glory of our own. Like on Mount of Transfiguration, where every one of us is represented there; there was Moses, the one that died and raised again; there was Elijah, the quickening saints that'll be caught up at the last day. Oh, they seen then, when they looked back, they seen Jesus only. We know, Lord, we don't want people to see us. We're not here for that purpose. Far be it!

E-206 But, Lord, it does delight our hearts when we see Jesus glorified among us; when we see Him glorified, when we see His Word, which He is the Word; when we see we can read it here in the Bible, where He promised He would do it, then see Him work it right in us, O God, how it makes us feel humble, that we know that His living Presence...

E-207 We haven't joined nothing or bargained for nothing. We just believe, Lord, unto Eternal Life. And you sealed us in there by the baptism of the Holy Ghost, and quickened our bodies, and quickened our spirits, and quickened us then to see visions, and prophesy, and speak in tongues, see great signs and wonders take place. Why, it's the living God. We're into that Body. When, to the world, is foolishness to them that perish; but to we who believe, it's the power of God, unto Eternal Life. We thank Thee for it, Father. [Ephesians 2:1, 5], [Colossians 2:13], [I Corinthians 1:18]

E-208 Now let it be known this day, Lord, that You are God, that You have never changed Your mind about one Word that You ever said. And You're the same yesterday, today, and forever, and the one--the one and only way that God has provided. The only Man that God ever put His Name in, was His Own Son Who carried His Name, Jesus; God, Jehovah, Saviour, Emmanuel, the Door to the sheepfold; He that Was, Which Is, and Shall Come; the Root and the Offspring, both Root and Offspring of David; the Morning Star, the Lily of the Valley. O God, how wonderful! No wonder Isaiah said, "Counsellor, Prince of Peace, The mighty God, Everlasting Father." Oh, we have no other Father but You, Lord. You are our Father. You are our Mother. You are all that we are, all that we could ever be. We won't see nothing else but Jesus glorified! [Isaiah 9:6], [Hebrews 13:8], [John 10:1, 7]

E-209 Father, I might have made a poor out of this, this afternoon, but take the semblance of my heart, and hear me, Dear God. And let it be said, this day, that Jesus Christ was glorified right here in this temple. Grant it, Father, for we ask it in His Name, and as I humbly wait with this audience, to see You move by Your Spirit. Amen.

E-210 Now I want you to do this one thing for me. I want to ask you one solemn question. I want you to answer me as if it was the last time that you would ever answer anybody in your life. Do you believe it's the Truth? [Congregation says, "Amen."--Ed.] Do you believe there is not a church or a denomination could be recognized in the Presence of God? Do you believe that? ["Amen."] There is not a one. Only those that are borned into Jesus Christ, take on His Name! That's right.

E-211 You take on His Name when you are borned in there, not by water baptism. Although you can be baptized in His Name, but that don't take on His Name. You take on His Name by birth, not by water. See, you're baptized into the Name of Jesus Christ, yes, sir, into fellowship; but you are baptized by the Holy Ghost, into Jesus Christ. So you can be baptized a hundred times, any way you wanted to, the other way, it'd make no difference. But when you're once baptized by the Holy Ghost, into the Body of Christ, you become a son or a daughter of God, and, "Every Word is true!" And, then, He did that for that purpose. [Acts 2:38], [Romans 6:3], [Galatians 3:27]

E-212 As I said the other day, when God moved and struck the sun across the earth, He knowed them palm trees and everything was laying down under that earth. He... They were part of the earth at that time, so were you.

E-213 And when He raised up the Son of God, on Easter morning, and sent forth the Holy Spirit, it was to quicken, also, that seed of Eternal Life, that He foreknew before the foundation of the world, that would be here. He knew this microphone would act like this this evening. He knew that you would have the attitude you've got. He's infinite. You can't imagine it with your mind, you've just got to accept it. But, let me say this one thing, that same God stands here, this afternoon, in His people.

E-214 Whether you're a Methodist, Baptist, Pentecostal, whatever you might be, don't you trust in some organization. Cause, they cannot be an organization... It's made up of too many different doctrines. It's made up of among... You have to be an individual, to God. You have to be an individual. God deals with you, not in your church. You are to live a right kind of a life in your church or congregation where you're worshiping at, you should live that kind of life that you should be. But you see, they draw creeds, and so forth, that you can't even enter their doors if you don't believe that. So how can God ever come in there, when His Word constantly is being manifested?

E-215 How did Luther know about these baptism and--and restoration of the Spirit, when he was back in that day? The plant hadn't growed like that. Neither did Wesley know it. And neither does the Pentecostal know what's going on today. Same thing, grows right away from you. That's right. It has in every age, and it always will.

E-216 And I can prove, by the Bible, this is the wheat age. Remember, after this great revival... There has never been another organization rise since Pentecost. They can't be. It goes from the shuck to the wheat, and there is nothing else but the grain. That's the reason. Fifteen years... Usually, three years, and they got an organization of any revival. Ask any historian. But there is no organization after This. They tried to raise up a Latter-day Rain, but you see what happened to it. It can't. It's wheat now. Yes, sir. There is no more carriers. It's the real grain. Christ is among His people. Do you believe it? [Congregation says, "Amen."--Ed.]

E-217 Let's start from over here, on the bottom floor. I can't pick out in there, seeing there is so many of you. How many believe me to be His servant? [Congregation says, "Amen."--Ed.] Have faith in God! How many over here believe that the same way, say, "I believe it with all my heart"? ["Amen."] Now may the Lord God grant this to us, that you might see the quickening power. It's something, vital evidence, that proves it.

E-218 Yes, somebody can say, "Oh, this is That, this, that." But let it act.

E-219 Now, it's totally impossible for me to know anything about you. You know that. I don't know but one person, I could look at, and that's Reverend Blair sitting out there, from way back east, I believe Arkansas or somewhere back in there. That's the only one in the audience, that I do see that I know. And God knows that's true. So it'd have to be something that...

E-220 I just happen to see over here, this little lady sitting at the end there, has got a spiritual problem you are praying about. Do you believe that God will straighten out that spiritual problem for you, and make it right? All right, you can have it.

E-221 Put your hand over on the other lady sitting to you, 'cause she's got stomach trouble she is praying for, too. Yeah. That right, sister? Raise your hands up if that's true. I don't know you, never seen you in my life. Two colored girls.

E-222 Now, what's that? Isn't that just exactly like what He said He would do? [Congregation says, "Amen."--Ed.] Just exactly.

E-223 Here is a lady sitting, looking right down through here; sitting, looking at me. She has got heart trouble. Do you believe that God will heal the heart trouble? You was sitting there praying, "I wish I could get there." Is that right? Wave your hand like this, it's right. How did I know what you were saying in your prayer?
See, just believe. That's all you have to do, is believe.

E-224 Here sits a lady right here that'll die right away if she isn't healed. She's got cancer. Do you believe that God will heal the cancer? Yes. You believe it? You, being that you was kind of slow putting up your hand, do you believe God can tell me who you are? Ms. Gunn. Now, if that's right, wave your hand like that, see. All right. Go home, Jesus Christ will make you well.
"If thou canst believe, all things are possible."

E-225 That struck this lady sitting there with the dark hat on, looking at me. She also has cancer. Do you believe God will heal you? Do you believe it with all your heart? I'm speaking to Mrs. Miller. Do you believe that? I don't know the woman, never seen her in my life, and God in Heaven knows that's right. Amen.

E-226 Here is a colored woman sitting right over here on the end, had her head down. She was studying, she is studying about a loved one, somebody she is praying for. She come, actually, to pray... have him prayed for. No he isn't here, it's her husband. That's right. She... He's not here. He's at home. He's had an operation, hasn't he? That's right. He was bothered with sinus trouble, and so forth. That's true, isn't it? He's going to be all right. Your faith was strong for it. Do you believe that that's to be true? Amen.

E-227 Can't you see that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever? Ask those people. It's went plumb across the audience. Do you believe that He's here? Do you feel that quickening power in you? Well, that's the God that makes you well, friends. Do you believe it? [Congregation says, "Amen."--Ed.] [Hebrews 13:8], [Ephesians 2:1, 5], [Colossians 2:13]

E-228 Now will you do one thing for me? For, how many in here is sick, let's see you raise your hand. Now it's going on five o'clock. Lay your hands over on each other, and let's just... Don't say a word now, just lay your hands on one--one another. I want you to do something.

E-229 Say, the man sitting right back here, has got that growth on his back. Do you believe that God will take that growth off your back, sir? Do you believe that God will make you well? Young fellow, looking at me, and thought he was going to get passed by. Raise your hand up, sir. That's right. You believe with all your heart, God will take it off for you.

E-230 Hallelujah! I challenge this whole audience, in the Name of Jesus Christ! If you could, if... Your conscience, don't let it be seared with unbelief, don't let it be flustrated. Can't you see the Son of man, the Son of man in the form of prophetic Message, returning back again in His Church, in prophecy, revealing Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever? It's never been done through the age, till this time. See? There is the proof of it. [Hebrews 13:8]

E-231 What is the Church? How do you get into It? When you're in there, everything that Jesus Christ was, you are, even to be a son and daughter of God. He become you that you might become Him.

E-232 The thing of it is, you are scared to use it, or either you're not cooperating with His Word. Now, that won't do a bit of good, and I--I don't care what you do. If you don't come fully into that Word, it'll never work. Who can accuse me of something He said and promised in this day, and it didn't happen? Then don't throw your denomination at me, 'cause it won't work.

E-233 Hallelujah! I feel, I know He's here. I'm positive He's here. I know that now there is quickening power enough in the Church to heal every person that's sitting here. Can you believe it? Well, then, will you? [Ephesians 2:1, 5], [Colossians 2:13]

E-234 Do you believe in praying for the sick? Do you believe Jesus said, "They lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover"? All right, put your hands over on each other now. Don't pray for yourself. Pray for the next person. They are praying for you. Now quietly and reverently. [Mark 16:18]

E-235 Lord, how I thank You, can stand here at this platform and--and preach a Word that's so contrary to the people's thinking today, till they would call It "heresy," they would call It "spiritualism," they would call It "evil spirits," like they did, when, "Beelzebub." But to see You right in the midst of this grand audience, this afternoon, turn right around and confirm and prove exactly what's been preached, that It is the Truth.

E-236 God, these are Your people. The--the Devil has tried to mess up the microphones, he's tried to mess up the people's thoughts, he's tried to keep them from getting This. But I believe they'll get It, anyhow, Lord. I ask for them to get It. I ask for them to receive It. Grant it, Lord, these believers with quickening power, that when they... if they don't live to see Your Coming, that quickening power will raise them up at the last days. [Ephesians 2:1, 5], [Colossians 2:13]

E-237 Grant just now that that quickening power will quicken their faith, Lord, to what they are doing. There is a believer got a hands on a believer, a body to a body, a power to a power. And it's the power of God, by a son of God or a daughter of God, by the Son of God. O God, may Satan turn this people loose! May they be healed this afternoon, by the resurrecting, quickening power of the Presence identified, Jesus Christ. In the Name of Jesus Christ, may it be so! [Ephesians 2:1, 5], [Colossians 2:13]

E-238 Your hands on the people has got quickening power in them, if you've been quickened. Have you come to Life? Has Christ become real to you? Has the power of God been manifested? Are you in that Church, God's provided Church? How are you in It, how do you know you've been quickened in It? Your whole thoughts, your whole being, is in Christ now. And Christ is in the midst of the people, proving Himself alive, proving that He is here at the days of Sodom.

E-239 With them hands of those people, that their lives have been changed from streetwalkers, from drunkards, from prostitutes on the street, to a genuine saints of God, quickened. Their hands is laying upon you. They're in the Church, by Holy Ghost baptism, the same power was upon Elijah's bones. That same power is laying upon your shoulder, upon your hands, upon your heads, that same quickening power; with Him standing here proving that He's alive from the dead, show Himself that He's alive, here now doing the very same things that He did when He was...?... Amen! [II Kings 13:21], [Ephesians 2:1, 5], [Colossians 2:13]

E-240 Can you believe Him now? Can you believe that them hands layed upon you are godly hands, can you believe that Spirit that's quickening us now, making us act crazy to the world, do you believe that's His quickening power? Do you believe you're in His Church? Then, if you are, and believe that those hands that are laying on you are holy hands, commanded by God; then I command you, in the Name of Jesus Christ, to stand to your feet and accept your healing, everybody that's been sick.
Oh, Christian, you realize what's taken place?

E-241 Do you realize, out in that street yonder is millions of people walking these streets, today, that's nothing in the world but atomic fodder? Do you realize them people are dead in sin and trespasses, and lives are black; in churches all over, for a few little lectures or something on some kind of a keeping of a certain thing, and call it religion.

E-242 Did you realize that you have been raised from death unto Life, and has been baptized into the Body of the living God that's quickened your body, where there is speaking in tongues and interpreting tongues, seeing Jesus Christ manifested among us? Why, sickness could not stand in such a group as this. Let your faith go to Him, believe Him! Say, "Lord God, I believe with all my heart," and you will be made well. [John 5:24]

E-243 Is there sinners here that would like to come into that Body? Raise your hands, and say, "I have never come into It, I've never been filled with the Holy Ghost, but, Brother Branham, I certainly desire It this afternoon. Will you pray for me?" Raise your hands. Don't be ashamed, you're in His Presence. Just look at the hands! Look at the hands!

E-244 Now everybody that wants the baptism of the Holy Ghost, raise up your hands, wherever you are, that want It.

E-245 Now you that's got the Holy Ghost, who is standing near them, lay your holy, consecrated hands upon them. "If the Holy Spirit, that raised up Jesus from the dead, dwells in you, it quickens your mortal bodies, from death to Life." It brings the whole body into the subjection to the Spirit. Now let's bow our heads, and everyone pray for those people that wants the baptism of the Holy Ghost. And I do believe that God will fill each one of you, right now, with the Holy Ghost. [Romans 8:11]

E-246 Why do we wait, friends? You're going to wait too, long, one of these days. This is the hour. Don't wait any longer. You're right here in this temple where you got all night to stay and pray.

E-247 Dear God, I pray that You'll send the Holy Ghost again, like as a rushing mighty wind, fill all the house, after the perfect identification here, this afternoon, that You're living and with the people. In Jesus' Name. Amen. [Acts 2:2]
