E-1 Laßt uns für einen Augenblick unsere Häupter beugen. Geliebter himmlischer Vater, wir sind dankbar, dass wir heute Abend hier sind. Wir sind dankbar, dass wir wissen, dass Deine Gegenwart hier mit uns ist. Wir beten, dass Du jedem von uns das gibst, was wir benötigen. Wir bitten es im Namen von Jesus. Amen. Ihr dürft euch setzen.
Es gibt mir ein gutes Gefühl, zu sehen, dass diese Mikrophone funktionieren. Es tat mir so leid, dass die Sache gestern so durcheinander war, bei dieser Botschaft, die ich euch unbedingt verständlich machen wollte. Ich wollte, dass ihr die Sache sicher seht. Dies ist der Anker, den wir haben. Wir sind nicht in einer Gemeinde verankert, wir sind in Christus verankert. Er ist der einzige Weg. Er ist der einzige Ort der Sicherheit, der einzige Ort, in den Gott je Seinen Namen hineinlegte.
Gott sagte, dass Er den Menschen an dem Ort begegnen werde, den Er erwählte, um Seinen Namen hineinzulegen; nicht in irgendeinem Tor, sondern in dem Tor, das Er erwählte, und an jener Stätte würde Er den Menschen begegnen und zwar nur dort. Und wir haben herausgefunden, dass Gott Seinen Namen niemals einfach irgendwohin legte, sondern nur in Seinen Sohn Jesus Christus, so wie ein Sohn immer den Namen des Vaters annimmt.
E-2 Und nun sagt ihr: „Wie kann das heute angewandt werden?” Jeder sagt:“ Ich bin in Jesus.” Er ist das Wort. „Am Anfang war das Wort, und das Wort war mit Gott und das Wort war Gott. Das Wort wurde Fleisch und wohnte unter uns.”
Dann steht auch noch geschrieben - in Offenbarung 19, dass, wenn wir Ihn kommen sehen, die Braut und den Bräutigam: „Sein Kleid ist in Blut getaucht und Sein Name heißt: Das Wort Gottes.” Er ist das Wort Gottes, Er ist die lebendigmachende Kraft, Er ist der Heilige Geist, Er ist die Dynamik, welche in die Mechanik hineinkommt, in das Wort, um es lebendig zu machen. Und alles muss zusammenarbeiten, sonst funktioniert es nicht. Die ganze Bibel wird benötigt, der ganze Christus, das volle Evangelium.
E-3 Ich möchte diesem Gremium sagen, dass ich sie gestern Nacht am Fernsehen sah. Ich wußte, dass das kommen würde, und darum sah ich es mir an. Ich möchte denen das Lob aussprechen, die in diesem Ausschuß waren. Solch ein Meisterwerk im Beantworten von Fragen! Wie ihr wißt, bin ich ja sehr kritisch, doch da fand sich gar nichts zum kritisieren. Es war vollständig wahr, und ich konnte hundertprozentig damit übereinstimmen. [Applaus. - Verf.] Ich danke euch! Amen. Jene Antworten trafen ins Schwarze. Gewiß schätzte ich das. Ich möchte nur, dass ich einen Film davon hätte, damit ich es meiner Gemeinde zuhause zeigen könnte. Es war wirklich fein.
E-4 Und ich bin so dankbar, dass Gott in den andern Kreisen wirkte, außerhalb unserer eigenen pfingstlichen Gruppe, dass Männer ergriffen werden, - diese Samen Gottes, die all die Jahre dort draußen lagen und warteten, bis das Licht über ihnen aufleuchtete.
Doch Freunde, das bringt uns auch eine Warnung; da wir wissen, dass Jesus sagte: Als diese schlafende Jungfrau begann hereinzukommen, um Öl zu kaufen, geschah das, als der Bräutigam kam. Dadurch können wir sehen... - wenn wir sehen, wie die Episkopalkirche, die Methodisten, die Baptisten, und die Lutheraner hereinkommen, um das Öl zu bekommen - das war die Stunde, wo der Bräutigam kam. Laßt uns daran denken.
E-5 Noch nie tat mein Sohn Billy so etwas, wie vor einigen Augenblicken; er sagte: „Vater, ich möchte dir nicht sagen, was du zu tun hast, ich möchte dich nicht durch irgendetwas beeindrucken, aber - was immer du auch tun wirst, nimm dir alle Zeit für diese kranken Menschen.” Er sagte: „Ich habe noch nie so viele kranke Menschen gesehen. Er sagte: „Ich habe in einem oder zwei Augenblicken zweihundert Gebetskarten herausgegeben. Da sind so viele kranke Menschen. So etwas sagt er sehr selten zu mir.
Und heute Abend komme ich mit einigen Notizen die ich niederschrieb und einigen Kommentaren über das kommende Gericht. Wir wissen, dass da, wo wir heute Abend sitzen, der Zorn Gottes unter uns brodelt, und bald wird es hinweggewischt werden. Da wir wissen, dass der Zorn Gottes wartet -m nur einem Augenblick, so wird man sagen, wird es für Millionen vorbei sein. Da ich in meinem Herzen weiß, dass es so ist - und dann sehen wir so viele kranke Menschen, sie drängen und ziehen.
Und ich dachte heute Abend: Die meisten von ihnen sind Christen.“ Und euch möchte ich sagen: „Kinder Gottes, was immer ihr tut, laßt alles andere fahren. Dient Gott Tag und Nacht von ganzem Herzen. Ihr könnt fühlen, dass etwas verkehrt ist. Ihr merkt es, wenn ihr durch die Straßen geht, wo immer ihr hingeht - wenn ihr geistlich seid - und ich weiß, ihr es seid es.
E-6 Ich sprach mit einem Mann, mit Bruder Stromei... Ich weiß nicht ob Tony hier ist oder nicht; er war Tony Salami... äh... [Gelächter. - Verf.] Salami...nein. Ich hatte den falschen Tony... [Ein Bruder sagt etwas. - Verf.] Nein, das ist der falsche Tony, dies ist der Tony von Tucson. Wie ist sein Name? [Jemand sagt: „Stromei.” - Verf.] Stromei! Ich weiß, dass es Salami, Stromei oder so etwas war. [Gelächter. - Verf.]
Kürzlich kam ein Mann in seinen Laden, es war eindrucksvoll. Er sagte etwas, das mir eine Erinnerung zurückbrachte vom letzten Mal, als ich in Indien war, wo uns der Herr, wie ich glaube, die größte Menge gab, die wir an einem Ort je hatten. Das war in Bombay. Wir konnten nirgends Plätze finden, um sie unterzubringen, zehntausende und tausende von Menschen. Und gerade bevor wir dort ankamen war ein Zeitungsartikel erschienen - eine Übersetzung - Indien ist ein mehrsprachiges Land. Es war die englische Zeitung. Dort hieß es: „Das Erdbeben muss vorüber sein, die Vögel fliegen wieder zurück in ihre Nester.”
E-7 Einige Tage bevor das Erdbeben gekommen war, das die Zäune und alles niederriß... - die kleinen Vögel finden dort Schutz in den Felsen und bauen dort ihre Nester. Am Nachmittag oder in der Mitte des Tages, wenn die Sonne sehr heiß ist, dann stehen alle Tiere im Schutz dieser Felsen und finden dort Schatten - doch während zwei Tagen blieben die Vögel auf den Bäumen; sie wollten nicht zu ihren Nestern kommen. Und während zwei Tagen wollten die Tiere, die Schafe und die Kühe am Nachmittag nicht unter diese Felsen stehen, sie blieben draußen auf dem Feld und lehnten sich gegeneinander, um Schatten zu finden. Dann kam plötzlich ein Erdbeben, welches die Felswände erschütterte und die Gebäude niederriß. Wenn diese kleinen Vögel dort geblieben wären, dann wären sie zugrunde gegangen. Wenn die Kühe und die Schafe darunter gestanden wären, dann wären sie zugrunde gegangen. Gott warnt die Natur!
E-8 Vor einigen Tagen, im Laden von Tony, hörte ich einem Mann zu. Er sagte, als dieses Erdbeben in Alaska geschah - er war gerade beim Fischen in Mexiko, an einem Ort, den wir „Steiniger Platz” nennen. Er sagte, dass die Vögel nicht fressen wollten und die Fische wollten nicht beißen. Etwas stimmte nicht. Und plötzlich kam das Erbeben.
Und kürzlich, als das Erdbeben in Indien geschah - oder wo immer es auch war - er sagte, er sei wieder beim Fischen gewesen und er dachte: „Das ist doch eigenartig, die Fische beißen doch gewöhnlich um diese Zeit, und da ist nicht ein Ring im Wasser, nirgendwo, und das Wasser ist so ruhig, die beste Zeit für die Fische zum Beißen.” Doch sie bissen nicht. Und all die Vögel, die gewöhnlich dort sind, die Möven, die dort ihre Fische holen, gingen dem Ufer entlang und kuschelten sich zusammen. Plötzlich kam der „Seeschlamm” aus der Tiefe herauf. Ein Erdbeben war losgebrochen, auf der andern Seite der Erde, Seht, diese Fische wußten, dass etwas nicht stimmte. Etwas war im Begriff zu geschehen. Auch die Vögel wußten es.
Wenn Gott einem Fisch und einem Vogel dieses Erkennen gibt, wieviel mehr wird er es dann Seinen Kindern geben! Ganz gewiß! Wir wissen, dass wir in der Endzeit sind, und das Gericht wartet. Laßt uns darum wirklich ehrfürchtig sein. Flieht zu Gott von ganzem Herzen. „O Kapernaum, du hast dich zum Himmel erhoben, doch du wirst zur Hölle hinab gebracht werden.” Und heute liegt es unter dem Wasser. Denkt einfach daran und betet.
E-9 Heute Abend möchte ich nun für einen Augenblick etwas aus der Schrift lesen. Wir werden für die Kranken beten. Billy sagte, er hätte ein Bündel Gebetskarten verteilt. Auch gestern verteilte er einige und gestern Abend bin ich zu keiner gekommen. Ich wunderte mich, als der Heilige Geist kam, es ist einfach... ihr könnt es nicht selbst betätigen. Es ist einfach wie ein kleiner Schalthebel, ihr zieht euch selbst in einen Gang. Ihr seid diejenigen, die das Wirken des Heiligen Geistes in Gang bringt, nicht ich. Ihr selbst tut es. Gestern Abend habe ich sogar während der Unterscheidung festgestellt, dass es nie richtig Kontakt gab mit den Leuten. Sie schienen es nicht zu nehmen. Da hier habe ich kürzlich herausgefunden, es scheint, - wie ich darüber sprach, dass sie mehr oder weniger- das Auflegen der Hände auf die Kranken kennen.
Wir sollten realisieren, dass in uns... es ist uns gegeben, uns, die wir an Jesus Christus glauben und aus Seinem Geist geboren und mit lebendigmachender Kraft gefüllt sind, dass diese Kraft, die in euch ist - durch das Auflegen der Hände auf die andern - wie es die Jünger taten und es in den Zeitaltern getan wurde - dass es tatsächlich die Kranken heilte und die Toten lebendig machte. Visionen wurden gezeigt und Prophezeiungen. Und derselbe Geist, der unter den frühen Aposteln lebte, der lebt heute in der Gemeinde, und bewirkt dieselben Dinge. Und sobald wir das erkennen können - wie sehr es auch wirksam ist, ihr müßt es erkennen und glauben. Es wird gar nichts bewirken, erst wenn ihr es glaubt. Doch in dem Augenblick, wo ihr es glaubt, sind eure Schwierigkeiten zu Ende. Das ist wahr!
E-10 Laßt uns nun in die Schrift hineingehen. Vor einigen Augenblicken saß ich noch dort draußen und suchte noch einige Schriftstellen dazu, damit ich mein Thema heute Abend wechseln kann. Ich möchte nun aus dem Wort Gottes lesen, vom Lukas-Evangelium, dem 8. Kapitel, beginnend mit dem 40. Vers. Hört nun zu. Ich werde ausführlich lesen.
Und es begab sich, da Jesus wiederkam, nahm ihn das Volk auf; denn sie warteten alle auf ihn.
Und siehe, da kam ein Mann mit Namen Jairus, der ein Oberster der Schule war, und fiel Jesu zu den Füßen und bat ihn, daß er wollte in sein Haus kommen;
denn er hatte eine einzige Tochter bei zwölf Jahren, die lag in den letzten Zügen. Und da er hinging, drängte ihn das Volk.
Und ein Weib hatte den Blutgang zwölf Jahre gehabt; die hatte alle ihre Nahrung an die Ärzte gewandt, und konnte von niemand geheilt werden;
die trat hinzu von hinten und rührte seines Kleides Saum an; und alsobald stand ihr der Blutgang.
Und Jesus sprach: Wer hat mich angerührt? Da sie aber alle leugneten, sprach Petrus und die mit ihm waren: Meister, das Volk drängt und drückt dich, und du sprichst: Wer hat mich angerührt?
Jesus aber sprach: Es hat mich jemand angerührt; denn ich fühle, daß eine Kraft von mir gegangen ist.
Da aber das Weib sah, daß es nicht verborgen war, kam sie mit Zittern und fiel vor ihm nieder und verkündigte vor allem Volk, aus welcher Ursache sie ihn hätte angerührt und wie sie wäre alsbald gesund geworden.
Er aber sprach zu ihr: Sei getrost, meine Tochter, dein Glaube hat dir geholfen. Gehe hin mit Frieden!
Da er noch redete, kam einer vom Gesinde des Obersten der Schule und sprach zu ihm: Deine Tochter ist gestorben; bemühe den Meister nicht.
Da aber Jesus das hörte, antwortete er ihm und sprach: Fürchte dich nicht, glaube nur, so wird sie gesund!
Da er aber in das Haus kam, ließ er niemand hineingehen denn Petrus und Jakobus und Johannes und des Kindes Vater und Mutter.
Sie weinten aber alle und klagten um sie. Er aber sprach: Weinet nicht, sie ist nicht gestorben, sondern sie schläft.
Und sie verlachten ihn, wußten wohl, daß sie gestorben war.
Er aber trieb sie alle hinaus, nahm sie bei der Hand und rief und sprach: Kind, stehe auf!
Und ihr Geist kam wieder, und sie stand alsobald auf. Und er befahl, man sollte ihr zu essen geben.
Und ihre Eltern entsetzten sich. Er aber gebot ihnen, daß sie niemand sagten, was geschehen war.

E-11 Laßt uns nun beten: Geliebter Himmlischer Vater, wenn wir Dein Wort lesen, dann wissen wir, dass es die Wahrheit ist. Dies ist geschehen. Es ist nicht irgendein Mythos, aus dem wir lesen, oder eine Zeitung oder irgendein erdichtetes Buch, nein, dies kommt aus dem Buch, das wir als Wort Gottes kennen. Wir glauben, dass das geschehen ist. Wir glauben, dass dieser Jesus, der diese bemerkenswerte Sache tat - da sind zwei Ereignisse: die Frau mit dem Blutfluß und das tote Kind - wir glauben, dass Er Gottes Sohn ist, dass Gott ihn von den Toten erweckte und dass Er Ihn heute Abend zeigt, in der Person des Heiligen Geistes.
Wir glauben, dass Er heute Abend hier mit uns ist, wir glauben, dass Er derselbe ist, gestern, heute und für immer. Sein Mitgefühl reicht hinaus zu den Menschen. Wenn die Menschen Ihn berühren können, dann bekommen wir heute dieselben Resultate, wie sie damals hatten. Gewähre es wieder Vater, dass wir eine frische Salbung bekommen, so wie Bruder Shakarian vor eine Weile so aufrichtig betete, und er bat die Versammlung, dies zu glauben. Wir bitten es noch einmal im Namen von Jesus Christus. Amen.
E-12 Ich möchte nur einige Augenblicke sprechen, und es werden wirklich nur einige Augenblicke sein, denn ich möchte die Menschen mit den Gebetskarten hierher rufen und für sie beten. Ich möchte andere Dinge auslassen und einfach für die Kranken beten. Doch bevor wir für die Kranken beten, müssen wir die Menschen in die entsprechende Einstellung bringen. Es ist die Einstellung, welche immer die Resultate bringt. Es ist eure Einstellung Gott gegenüber. Da ist eine Frau, die Sein Kleid berührte, und sie wurde von einem Blutfluß geheilt. Ein Soldat spuckte in Sein Gesicht und setzte eine Dornenkrone auf Sein Haupt und fühlte keine Kraft. Es kommt darauf an, wie ihr es angeht. Es braucht die richtige Einstellung. Und darum geht es heute Abend, die richtige Einstellung wird benötigt.
Wir sind - und wir glauben, dass wir in der Gegenwart von Jesus Christus sind, doch es ist eure Einstellung, welche die Resultate bringt. Die Mechanik ist hier und auch die Dynamik. Wenn ihr nur beginnen könnt, dann wird Gott für den Rest sorgen.
E-13 Das Thema, über das ich nun einen Augenblick sprechen möchte, heißt: „Er beweist Sein Wort.” Es ist eine gewaltige Sache, wenn man darüber nachdenkt, dass Er Sein Wort beweist. Gott ist auch heute Abend imstande. Sein Wort zu beweisen, so wie Er es immer getan hat. Und auch die Bibel sagt: „Prüft alle Dinge, und haltet an dem fest, das gut ist.”
Ohne Zweifel habt ihr den alten Spruch gehört: „Beweise es, dann werde ich es glauben.” Doch das hält der Wahrheit nicht stand. Oft habe ich gesehen, wie viele Dinge bewiesen wurden, sogar wissenschaftlich bewiesen, und trotzdem haben es die Menschen nicht geglaubt.
Vor kurzen sprach ich hier mit einem Mann. Wir sprachen über göttliche Heilung. Er sagte: „Ich würde es nicht glauben, ganz egal was geschehen würde. Wieviele Beweise du auch zeigen könntest, ich würde es trotzdem nicht glauben.” Natürlich, ganz gleich was ihr für diesen Mann tun möchtet, er ist verloren. Er kann nicht glauben. Es ist nichts in ihm, das glauben kann.
E-14 Vor etwa einer Woche hatte ich hier ein kleines Erlebnis. Wie ihr alle wißt, jage ich. Und als ich von meiner Versammlung heimkehrte, ging ich auf die Löwenjagd. Und nachdem ich nach Arizona zog... da ist es gut. Ich liebe es, großes Wild zu jagen. Und ich liebe es, in die Natur zu gehen, um es zu beobachten.
Ich bin kein Killer, ich jage einfach. Ich mag es nicht, wenn man einfach Wild zerstört. Ich glaube nicht, dass das richtig ist. Ich denke. Wild einfach zu töten, ohne dass man es braucht, ist dieselbe Sünde, wie wenn man sonst irgendetwas tötet. Ich glaube das ist verkehrt. Das sollten wir nicht tun. Gott hat es uns als Nahrung und zu verschiedenen Zwecken gegeben und wir sollten es nicht zerstören. Doch was das Gesetz erlaubt, das kann man nehmen, das ist in Ordnung, doch vergeudet es nicht einfach.
Und ich… Dort unten ist die Saison eröffnet für alles. Löwen töten eine Menge Vieh. Ich kenne viele Farmer in der Gegend, und jedesmal wenn Vieh getötet wird, dann rufen sie mich an.
Wenn ein Löwe unter die Schafe kommt... Ein gewisser Freund von mir verlor kürzlich etwa 3.500 $ in einer Nacht durch einen Löwen, der die Lämmer einfach tötete. Er kam einfach hinein. Natürlich müssen nun die andern Löwen für seine Sünde bezahlen. Und so erlegte ich den Löwen. Es war ein mächtiger, großer Löwe, 2,7 m lang. Und er wog etwa zwei... oder etwas... es war ein guter, großer Löwe.
E-15 Darauf ging ich von Arizona nach Utah um zu jagen. Und mir wurde gesagt - Leute dort oben sagten es -, dass der Mann, mit dem ich jagen sollte, ein staatlicher Jäger sei. „Und erwähne auf keinen Fall etwas von Religion bei ihm!” Sie sagten, er sei wirklich ein rauher Bursche.
Und ich sagte - Ich versprach dem Mann, bei dem ich war: „Ich werde es nicht erwähnen.”
Und er sagte noch: „Sage nicht, dass du Prediger bist. Wenn du das tust, dann wird er dich auf keinen Fall mitnehmen.” Er sagte: „Ich habe drei Tage mit ihm gejagt, bin jede Nacht neben ihm geschlafen, habe jeden Tag mit ihm gegessen und niemals sagte er auch nur ‚Guten Morgen' oder ‚Grüß Gott', oder ‚möchtest du etwas essen?' oder ‚wasche das Geschirr'. Gar nichts. Darum sag einfach gar nichts davon.”
Ich sagte: „Ich werde kein Wort erwähnen.” Ich sagte nicht, dass ich nicht beten würde. Ich sprach einfach so weiter... nicht dass ich beten würde.
E-16 Als wir dort heraufkamen, sah ich, dass der Mann ein sehr harter Charakter war, und ich konnte mir nicht denken, dass er irgendetwas glaubte. Einige Tage vorher hatte er gerade ein kleines Kind verloren, es war eine Totgeburt.
Und so gingen wir jagen. Und dann am zweiten Tage... Der Mann, mit dem ich jagte, hatte ihm gesagt, dass ich im ganzen Lande zu jagen pflege. Als dann die andern Jäger, die bei mir waren, gegangen waren - wir waren weit oben in den Bergen und verfolgten einen Löwen, und wir hatten ihn in die Felsen getrieben, dort war er verschwunden. Und so saßen wir dort und warteten auf die Rückkehr des Hundes. Dann sagte dieser Mann zu mir: „Der andere Jäger, dein Freund, sagte mir, dass du überall jagen kannst. Hast du viel Geld?” Dann sagte er noch: „Das geht mich eigentlich nichts an.”
Ich sagte: „Nein, ich habe nicht viel Geld, ich habe Sponsoren.”.
Darauf sagte er: „O, ich verstehe.” Und er sagte: „Nun, eigentlich geht es mich ja nichts an, doch gehörst du zu einer Firma, die dich bezahlt?”
Er hat es direkt aus mir herausgezogen! Ich hatte ja versprochen, nichts zu erwähnen. Und so sagte ich: „Nein, ich bin Prediger, Missionar.”
“Was bist du?” fragte er.
“Missionar”, sagte ich. Er stand einfach da und schaute mich einige Minuten an. Ich sagte: „Hast du eine Hoffnung für dein Leben nach diesem? Was ist deine Hoffnung?”
Er sagte: „Ich bin ein ‚Jack Mormone'.”
“Ein ‚was'?” fragte ich.
“Ein ‚Jack Mormone'”, sagte er.
“Was für eine Art ist das?”, fragte ich.
“Das sind jene, die fluchen, Kaffee trinken und Zigaretten rauchen”, sagte er.
“Nun, ein aufrichtiges Bekenntnis ist gut für die Seele”, antwortete ich.
E-17 Dann sagte er: „Ich möchte dich etwas fragen. Mir ist gesagt worden, dass die Mormonen Kirche die einzig wahre Kirche sei. Glaubst du, dass das stimmt?”
Ich sagte: „Wenn es um Kirchen geht, dann nehme ich an, dass sie so gut ist wie jede andere. Ich kenne nur eine Wahrheit, und das ist Jesus Christus. Ich weiß, dass Er wahrhaftig ist.”
“Nun”, sagte er, „kürzlich wurde uns ein Kind geboren, es war eine Totgeburt. Mir wurde gesagt, weil es totgeboren ist und Gott den Atem des Lebens nie in das Kind gab, werde ich es nie mehr sehen.” Dann sagte er: „Was denkst du darüber?”
“Nun”, sagte ich, „als ‚Jack Mormone' wirst du es nicht mehr sehen, ha, ganz gewiß nicht. Das ist auf jeden Fall sicher, ha, ha. Du wirst es nicht wieder sehen, wenn du ein ‚Jack Mormone' bleibst.”
Darauf sagte er... Nun, er hatte ein wenig an mir ‚herumgestoßen' und so stieß ich ein wenig zurück. [Versammlung lacht. - Verf.] Wir hatten Zeit, um zurückzugeben.
Und so sagte er: „Äh, äh...” „Was ist los”, sagte ich.
“Oh, ich weiß nicht”, sagte er.
Dann sagte er: „Nun, was denkst du darüber?”
Ich sagte: „Ich kenne viele feine...”
E-18 Ich wußte noch nicht, dass er Mormone war. Da ich in Utah war, dachte ich, dass er wahrscheinlich Mormone sei, denn die meisten Leute in der Gegend von Salt Lake City sind Mormonen. Das war aber nicht in der Gegend von Salt Lake City. Und ich dachte: „Nun, ich hatte ja viele feine Mormonen Freunde in der Gebetsreihe, feine Menschen. Und so sagte ich: „Ich habe sehr feine Männer getroffen, die Mormonen sind.”
Und er sagte: „Nun, äh...
Ich sagte: „Ich kenne ihre Lehre über diese Dinge nicht, und ich möchte nichts Gegensätzliches zu ihrer Lehre sagen, denn du bist Mormone, und ich respektiere das sehr.” Und ich sagte: „Nun, glaubst du das?”
“Jawohl”, sagte er, „doch ich lebe nicht damach.”
Ich sagte: „Nun, ich glaube, dass die Bibel lehrt, dass Gott dieses Kindlein schon vor Millionen von Jahren kannte, vor Grundlegung der Welt.” Ich sagte: „Gott sprach zu Jeremia: ‚Bevor du im Leibe deiner Mutter empfangen wurdest, bevor du je aus dem Leibe kamst, habe ICH dich gekannt, habe dich geheiligt und als Prophet für die Nationen bestimmt.' So viel weiß Er darüber”, sagte ich. Seht ihr.
Er sagte: „Also... ich danke dir.” Dann begann er den Hügel hinabzugehen.
Als er mit dem andern Kameraden zusammenkam sagte er: „Warum hast du mir nicht gesagt, dass dieser Kerl ein Prediger ist?” Und so... Er sprach noch etwas mit ihm und begann von den Versammlungen zu erzählen.
E-19 Nun, die Mormonen glauben an Prophetie. Ich weiß nicht... „vielleicht sind keine solchen da. [Versammlung lacht. - Verf.] Doch sie glauben an Prophetie. Aber... vielleicht rede ich etwas aus der Schule, ha, [Versammlung lacht. - Verf.] doch ich... doch wie es auch sei, sie glauben. Er kam zu mir zurück und sagte: „Ich habe gehört, dass du ein Prophet bist.”
Ich sagte: „Nein, - der Herr hat mir einige Dinge gezeigt, die geschehen sind [werden - Verf.].”
Er wandte sich plötzlich um und sagte: „Laßt uns einsteigen.” Er stieg in seinen kleinen Wagen und ging dort hinunter in die kleine Stadt, in der er lebte. In einigen Augenblicken war er verschwunden.
Wir machten die Hunde bereit für eine andere Jagd, gerade nach dem Essen, und während wir das taten, fuhr er los mit seinem Auto.
Etwas später kam ein sauber aussehender junger Mann mit ihm zurück - ungefähr siebzehn Jahre alt - ein wirklich sauber aussehender christlicher Gentleman. Er sagte: „Das ist mein Bruder! Dieser ist kein ‚Jack Mormone'. Er ist ein echter Mormone.”
“Sei gegrüßt mein Sohn”, sagte ich.
Er sagte: „Ich höre dass... mein Bruder sagt mir, du seiest ein Prophet.”
“Nein”, sagte ich. „So ist es nicht, dass ich ein Prophet bin.” Ich sagte: „Der Herr hat mir Dinge gezeigt, die dann geschahen.”
Er sagte: „Ich habe gerade jetzt eine Injektion bekommen in meinen Arm. Eigentlich sollte ich auf dem Operationstisch sein.” Und er sagte: „Doch mein Bruder hat mir diese Dinge erzählt und ich sagte zu ihm: ‚Wenn das so ist, dann brauche ich keine Operation.'”
Er schaute mir direkt in die Augen, mit einem aufrichtigen, offenen, ehrlichen Blick. Er sagte: „Lege du mir deine Hände auf. Wenn diese Dinge so geschehen sind, dann brauche ich keine Operation.” Er ging gesund nach Hause!
E-20 Dieser Bruder von Phoenix - er ist einer meiner christlichen Freunde - er hat mit mir gejagt, sagte... Einige dieser Jungen sitzen nun hier - von einem weiß ich, dass er jetzt anwesend ist. Wir gingen nach Hause und er sagte: „Bruder Branham, wenn der Herr dir eine Vision zeigen würde und Er würde durch dich den Mormonen sagen, was geschehen wird, das würde genügen, denn sie erwarten es.”
Ich hatte gebetet und gebetet, und als ich unterwegs nach Hause war... - am folgenden Montag oder Sonntag, etwa um zehn Uhr stand ich nach der Versammlung im Zimmer und schaute hinaus. Und dann sah ich Blitzlichter aufleuchten, oder ein Licht wie ein Blitzlicht, und ich sah einen Löwen, der in einem Baum war. Für mich war er noch zu klein, um ihn zu schießen, ich wollte ihn nicht. Ein anderer Mann war dort, der ihn dann schoß. Als es geschah, da schoß er mit einem zu großen Gewehr, es riß den Löwen auseinander. Ich schätzte es gar nicht, dass es so getan wurde.
E-21 Als ich nach Phoenix kam, erzählte ich es Bruder Dawson. Und Bruder Mosley - ich weiß, dass er hier ist - ich sah ihn kürzlich hier irgendwo - er ging dort hinauf mit mir, er und seine Frau. Ich sagte: „Paß auf und schaue, das ist ‚So spricht der Herr'. So wird es geschehen.”
Nächtelang warteten wir. Vier oder fünf Nächte - oder Tage - hatten wir gejagt. Selten stellt man einen Löwen bei Nacht. Und es geschah, als wir nach Hause kamen, da ließen sie die Hunde los - jener Jäger tat es, der Mormone. Und der Löwe fand eine Spur - ich wollte sagen der Hund fand die Spur des Löwen und hetzte ihn auf einen Baum.
Und um zehn Uhr nachts kamen sie und holten uns aus dem Bett. Wir gingen hinaus und dort war genau jener Löwe auf dem Baum. Sie ließen die Lichter aufleuchten - Bruder Mosley schoß ihn mit einem Kaliber von etwa vierundvierzig. Es hat den Löwen beinahe in zwei Stücke gerissen. Da war es nun, genau in der Weise, wie ich es gesagt hatte.
Am nächsten Tag traf ich den obersten Jagdaufseher des Staates, ein anderer ‚Jack Mormone'. Ich nahm beide dieser Männer zusammen und führte sie zurück nach Hause zu Christus. Ich sage euch. Er ist immer noch derselbe, gestern heute und für immer. Gott beweist, dass sich Sein Wort erfüllt.
E-22 Ihr habt gehört, wie die Leute sagen: „Sehen bedeutet glauben.” Das ist nicht unbedingt wahr. Viele Menschen sehen es und glauben trotzdem nicht. In den Tagen, in denen Jesus Christus auf Erden war - warum erkannten sie nicht, dass Er das manifestierte Wort Gottes war? Warum realisierten die Menschen nicht, dass Moses gesagt hatte: „Der Herr euer Gott wird euch einen Propheten wie mich erwecken!?” Und er erfüllte jedes Wort, von dem die Bibel sagte das er tun würde. Doch sie glaubten es nicht.
Doch Gott hat in jedem Zeitalter Sein Wort als Wahrheit bewiesen. Er beweist Sein Wort immer. Dann sagen sie manchmal: „Sehen bedeutet glauben.” So ist es nicht. Doch wir wissen, dass Gott einfach weiterfährt Sein Wort in jedem Zeitalter zu beweisen.
Wir wissen, dass Er es Adam und Eva bewiesen hat, als Er sagte: „An dem Tag, wo ihr eßt, werdet ihr gewiß sterben.” Da müssen wir zugeben, dass das wahr ist. Das glauben wir, denn Er hat es uns bewiesen und wir wissen, dass das wahr ist.
E-23 Wir werden nun einige Stellen nehmen, wo Gott Sein Wort bewiesen hat. Wir wollen als Beispiel die Tage Noah's betrachten. Gott verkündete Noah eine Botschaft, die gewiß unwissenschaftlich und unglaublich war. Keiner hätte sie geglaubt. Es hatte noch nie geregnet auf der Erde - es war nicht nach der Wissenschaft.
Vielleicht hatten sie damals ein wissenschaftlicheres Zeitalter als wir es heute haben, denn in jenen Tagen bauten sie Pyramiden, Sphinxen und so weiter, die wir heute nicht bauen können. Sie verfügten über eine Kraft, irgendeine mechanische Kraft - vielleicht mit Atomkraft - dass sie diese großen Blöcke heben konnten, was wir heute nicht tun könnten. Doch sie taten mächtige wissenschaftliche Dinge. Sie hatten etwas, mit dem sie die Leiber einbalsamieren konnten, so, dass sie hunderte von Jahren natürlich aussahen. Diese Kunst haben wir verloren.
Jesus sagte: „So wie es war in den Tagen Noah's, so wird es sein beim Kommen des Menschensohnes.” Und wir wissen, dass wir wieder in ein anderes großes, wissenschaftliches Zeitalter kommen.
Und nun war die Botschaft Noah's in der Gemeinde sehr im Gegensatz zum Glauben jenes Tages, und sie war auch sehr im Gegensatz zur wissenschaftlichen Forschung. Doch Gott bestätigte Sein Wort als Wahrheit. Gott bewies das, was dieser Prophet gesagt hatte, als Wahrheit.
E-24 Für einen Augenblick werden wir noch einen andern betrachten. Abraham war ein anderer Prophet des Herrn, zu dem das Wort kam. Er sagte ihm - als er fünfundsiebzig Jahre alt was, Sara war fünfundsechzig Jahre alt - dass er von Sara ein Kind bekommen werde. Nun, einen Ungläubigen würde das schockieren. Könnt ihr euch vorstellen, dass heute so etwas geschehen könnte, wenn wir heute auch all die wissenschaftlichen Errungenschaften haben, all diese künstlichen Befruchtungen - Retortenkinder usw., von denen sie sprechen. Doch diese alte Frau ist nun fünfundsechzig Jahre alt, und der alte Mann ist fünfundsiebzig Jahre alt.
Aber das Wort des Herrn kam zu Abraham und sagte Ihm, dass dies geschehen würde, und Abraham glaubte Gott. Und egal wie sehr Gott sprach und wie wahr es war, Abraham musste glauben, was Gott sagte, um es so zu machen.
Seht nun, wie dieser Mann geprüft wurde mit seinem Bekenntnis, an das er glaubte. Dieser Mann, der bekannte, dass er Gott glaubte, ist ein Mensch wie ihr, die ihr heute Abend hier sitzt. Wir glauben Gott immer noch. Wir müssen glauben, dass Sein Wort die Wahrheit ist, und Er wird beweisen, dass es die Wahrheit ist, wenn wir es einfach glauben.
E-25 Betrachtet nun die Hindernisse, die Abraham hatte. Das erste war sein Alter. Er war fünfundsiebzig Jahre und Sarah war fünfundsechzig Jahre alt. Sie hatte die Gelegenheit, Leben zu empfangen, weit überschritten, die Wechseljahre. Ohne Zweifel war das seit vielen Jahren vorüber. Er hatte mit ihr gelebt, - sie war seine Frau und seine Halbschwester - vermutlich hatte er sie erwählt, als sie noch ein Mädchen unter zwanzig war und hatte sie geheiratet und er hatte keine Kinder. Sie war völlig unfruchtbar.
Nun sehen wir, dass er sich von all seinen Leuten trennen mußte, damit es geschehen konnte. Damit will ich nun nicht sagen, dass ihr euch von den Menschen absondern müßt, doch ihr müßt euch von allem Geschwätz des Unglaubens trennen. Bleibt fern davon, wenn sie sagen: „Ach, diese Dinge geschehen ohnehin nicht, das ist ein Haufen Verrückter.” Verschließt einfach eure Ohren und geht weg. Schenkt ihnen keine Beachtung.
E-26 Die Bibel sagt, dass Abraham nicht durch Unglaube an den Verheißungen Gottes zweifelte, sondern er war stark und gab Gott die Ehre. Sein Name wurde geändert von Abram zu Abraham. Die Änderung seines Namens machte ihn zum „Vater von Völkern.”
Könnt ihr euch einen Mann vorstellen, der mit seiner Frau als Liebling lebt - er hatte mit ihr all die Jahre gelebt, und nun ist er etwa achtzig Jahre alt und seine Frau ist fünfundsiebzig Jahre alt, immer noch ohne Kind und ohne Hoffnung auf ein Kind, und nun erklärt er, er sei der Vater vieler Völker? Könnt ihr euch die Kritik seiner vorübergehenden Freunde vorstellen? Man sagte: „Vater von Völkern, wieviele Kinder hast du schon?” - All die Kritik, durch die er gehen mußte. Doch Abraham zweifelte niemals durch Unglauben. Er glaubte, dass Gott imstande war, das hervorzubringen, was Er verheißen hatte. Er glaubte, dass Gott Sein Wort beweisen würde, ganz egal wie lange es dauern sollte.
Anstatt dass er immer schwächer wurde, so wie wir geneigt sind zu werden, wurde er andauernd stärker. Wenn es heute noch nicht geschieht, dann wird es Morgen ein noch größeres Wunder sein, denn dann ist er ein Tag älter. Das war Gott! Das war Gott in Abraham, denn er wußte, dass Gott alle Seine Worte bestätigen würde.
E-27 Wenn Seine Kinder nun Sein Wort ergreifen, so kann Er es durch euch beweisen. Nur auf diese Weise kann Er Sein Wort beweisen.
Den Ungläubigen beweist Er es nicht. Sie können nicht bestätigt werden, sie sind Ungläubige, denn es ist nicht für die Ungläubigen. Es ist nicht für die Ungläubigen, es ist für den, der da glaubt. Und wenn Er jemanden finden kann, der Sein Wort glaubt, dann wird Er durch euch Sein Wort beweisen. Manchmal kommt eine Krankheit oder etwas, damit Gott Sich beweisen kann.
Könnt ihr euch an den blinden Mann erinnern, den Jesus fand? Sie fragten damals: „Wer hat gesündigt? Er oder sein Vater oder seine Mutter?”
In diesem Fall sagte Er: „Es geschah, damit die Werke Gottes bekannt werden.” Seht ihr? Es traf den Jungen, damit Jesus verherrlicht werden konnte. Manchmal ist Krankheit kein Fluch sondern ein Segen, damit wir dort unseren Glauben festhalten und die Dinge, die nicht sind, so sehen, als wären sie schon da. Gott hat es gesagt! Und so wird Er es bestätigen, wenn ihr im Test nicht schwächer werdet.
Einmal konnte Er es Hiob beweisen, so dass dieser Ihm nicht ins Angesicht fluchte. Betrachtet die Trübsale, durch die Hiob ging. Und als er schon in den Klauen des Todes war, sagte er dennoch: „Der Herr hat gegeben, der Herr hat genommen, gesegnet sei der Name des Herrn!” Ganz gewiß glaubte er es.
Gott bewies Hiob Sein Wort, und Er bewies es auch dem Abraham.
E-28 Er bestätigte es. Er bewies es auch durch Moses. Und als die Schwierigkeiten ganz gegen ihn standen - Moses trug den Gedanken in sich, dass er wahrscheinlich dieser Befreier sei. Vermutlich hatte sein Mutter ihm das erzählt, als er noch ihr kleines Kind war. Sie war seine Erzieherin, die ihn im Palast des Pharao erziehen konnte. Ohne Zweifel hatte sie zu ihm gesagt: „Mein Sohn, wir haben für die Befreiung gebetet, und wir glauben, dass du dieses Kind bist, dass Gott dich zu unserer Befreiung gebrauchen wird.”
Und als er dann... er wuchs auf und wurde zum Sohn von Pharaos Tochter und wir sehen, dass er den Thron erben sollte. Ohne Zweifel dachten sie damals, dass er der nächste Pharao werden würde, und dass er dann so die Menschen befreien würde, als nächster Pharao. Doch Gott hatte... Wenn es so geschehen wäre, dann wäre es mit materiellen Dingen geschehen, durch politisches Handeln.
Aber Gott wirkt nicht immer in dieser Weise.
E-29 Gott hat Seine eigenen Wege, durch die Er arbeitet. Und Er hatte gesagt, dass Er sie hinausführen würde. Zu Abraham hatte Er gesagt, dass Er sie nach vierhundert Jahren mit mächtiger Hand hinausführen würde. Er würde Zeichen und Wunder zeigen. Darum konnte Er es nicht so machen .
So Abra..... Wir sehen, dass Abraham Gott glaubte, und hier ist nun Moses, der Gott glaubt. Moses schaute aus demselben Fenster wie Pharao. Er sah dieselben Leute wie Pharao. Der sah sie als ein verfluchtes Volk, als ein Volk, das nichts anderes hatte, als ein Haufen Fanatismus für einen Gott, und irgendwo einen Gott in der Wüste; dass sie nichts anderes hatten, als irgendwo eine unsichtbare Säule, zu der sie beteten. Etwas, das nichts bedeutete. Sie waren ein Haufen Fanatiker und eine Gruppe von Sklaven. Schon die Tatsache, dass sie ihr Gott Sklaven sein ließ, bewies ja, dass dieser nicht Gott war.
E-30 Und direkt inmitten dieser ganzen Sache ließ ER genau den Mann aufwachsen!
Gott tut Dinge in solch einer besonderen Weise, und Er tut es mitten unter ihnen! Kein Theologe, kein Lehrer, keine Priester, keiner der heiligen Männer, einfach ein gewöhnlicher Mann, geboren für diese Arbeit. Und Gott berief um zu Seinem Propheten und sandte ihn dort hinab. Er hatte nichts anderes in seiner Hand als einen krummen Stecken, um einer Armee gegenüberzutreten, mechanisierte Einheiten, welche die ganze Welt bezwungen hatten. Doch mit diesem Stecken in seiner Hand, wie Gott ihm gesagt hatte - er müsse den Stab in seiner Hand halten und er werde Israel befreien - und er ging hinab und tat es, weil Gott es verheißen hatte. Wie sollte Er es tun? „Ich werde mit dir sein!” Er sagte: „Zeige mir Deine Herrlichkeit, Herr. Ich spreche langsam, ich kann nicht gut reden. Und ich...” Er hatte Tausend Ausreden. Aber ER sagte: „Ich werde mit dir sein!” Und das war alles, was es brauchte. Er ging und nahm Gott beim Wort. Wie gefährlich die Aufgabe auch schien, Moses glaubte Gott weiterhin, und Gott bewies Sein Wort durch Moses als Wahrheit, weil Moses ganz beim Wort blieb, ungeachtet dessen, was da geschah.
So Während der Reise...
E-31 Gott hatte ihnen in Ägypten auch gesagt, dass Er sie in ein verheißenes Land führen werde, in ein gutes Land, voll mit Milch und Honig. Und das war wirklich vorhanden dort. Sie wußten nicht, dass es dort war. Aber ER hätte gesagt: „Es ist dort, und ICH habe es euch gegeben. Es gehört schon euch. Beansprucht es einfach!”
Doch in der Wüste - viele waren herausgekommen, hatten im Geiste getanzt, als Miriam das Tamburin schlug. Sie aßen das Manna vom Himmel und hörten Moses im Geiste singen, sie sahen all die Wunder und Zeichen hervorkommen, doch als es zum entscheidenden Moment kam, das ganze Wort Gottes zu glauben, alle Verheißungen, da versagten sie.
E-32 Nur zwei glaubten es, das waren Josua und Kaleb.
Und diese brachten den Beweis, dass das Land ein gutes Land war. Doch die Umstände waren es, welche sie hinderten. Sie sagten: „Wir sind nicht imstande das Land einzunehmen, weil ihre Städte mit Mauern umgeben sind. Ihre Delegierten - nein, nicht die Delegierten, das Volk, es sind gewaltige Riesen. Im Vergleich zu ihnen sind wir wie Heuschrecken.”
Josua und Kaleb sagten: „Wir sind mehr als imstande es einzunehmen. Warum? Gott hatte es ihnen gegeben, ganz egal, wie groß auch die Riesen waren. Das Hindernis hatte für sie keine Bedeutung. Gott hatte gesprochen! Und Gott bewies es durch sie. Und sie gingen hinüber und nahmen das Land ein, wie Gott es gesagt hatte. Er bewies es ihnen.
E-33 Als sie nun dort ankamen, im Monat April, als die Wasser von den Bergen strömten, über die Schneeverwehungen hinweg, da sah es aus, als ob Gott ein armseliger General wäre, seine Armee an solch einen Ort zu führen, wo sie festgenagelt waren, weg vom verheißenen Land. Und genau der Zeitpunkt, wo Er sie nun hinüberführen sollte, war der schlimmste Monat des Jahres. Es war der Monat, wo der Jordan die Ufer überflutete und bis in die Felder hinaus lief. Warum geschah das? Um hinüberzugehen und sie zu überwältigen, wäre doch die Sommerzeit richtig, da könnten sie einfach hindurch waten. Doch Er wartete, bis die Wasser hoch standen. Er liebt es, zu zeigen, dass Er Gott ist. Er liebt es. Sein Wort zu beweisen.
Sorge dich nicht, auch wenn der Arzt sagt: „Du wirst an Krebs sterben,” Das ist alles, was der Mann weiß. Vielleicht stehen heute Abend für einige die Wasser hoch, doch denkt daran: „Gott gab die Verheißung! Gott hält Sein Wort und Gott beweist sein Wort!” Das ist die Wahrheit. Er wartete, bis die Wasser schmutzig daherkamen, bis es hoch stand, über ihre Häupter hinweg, doch dann öffnete Er den Weg. Er ging vor ihnen her und bahnte den Weg. Doch wie sollten sie nun Jericho einnehmen, wenn alles verschlossen war, so fragte sich Josua. Er wußte, dass Gott ihn bis dahin geführt hatte. Der nächste Schritt ist Gottes Sache.
E-34 Eines Tages, als er umherging und die Mauern besichtigte, sah er einen Mann mit gezogenem Schwert dort stehen. Er zog sein Schwert und ging zu diesem Mann. Er fragte: „Für wen stehst du? Gehörst du zu uns oder gehörst du zu unseren Feinden?”
Dieser sagte: „Ich bin der Oberste vom Heer des Herrn.” Und Er sagte ihm, was er tun mußte.
Wozu sollte er in eine Posaune stoßen? Da sollte eine Mauer fallen, auf der sie Wagenrennen abhalten konnten? Wie sollte dies etwas mit dem Blasen einer Posaune zu tun haben? Gott gebraucht solch einfache Methoden. Die Einfachheit der Sache, darin sehe ich Gott. Wir suchen immer irgendetwas Großes, damit etwas Großes geschieht. Und Gott... „Irgendeine große Organisation wird doch die ganze Sache übernehmen und alles erledigen.” Doch Gott nimmt einen einfachen Menschen, nur einen Mann, einen Mann, den Er in Seinen Händen halten kann, und durch diesen wird Er jedes Wort beweisen, das Er durch ihn gesprochen hat.
Solch einfache, kleine Mittel werden gebraucht. „Laß die Posaune ertönen.” Ihr braucht nicht die Mauern auszugraben, laß einfach die Posaune erschallen und die Mauern werden fallen. Der Schall der Posaune wird die Mauern niederreißen. Wie töricht ist das doch für den fleischlichen Verstand. Doch Gott bewies, dass Sein Wort stimmte, den die Mauern fielen, eine auf die andere. Sie gingen geradewegs hinüber und nahmen die Stadt ein.
E-35 Oh, Gott liebt es, zu beweisen, dass Er Gott ist! Josua wußte das. Eines Tages, als er dort stand, da geschah eines der größten Paradoxe, die je geschahen, abgesehen vom Tod, dem Begräbnis und der Auferstehung Jesu Christi. Als der Feind rund um sie war - die verschiedenen Armeen waren in den Bergen, der Feind hatte sie umzingelt und die Sonne war am untergehen. Oh, welch eine Zeit war das für General Josua! Denkt daran, er erkämpfte dieses Land ohne ein Krankenhaus, ohne Krankenschwestern, ohne erste Hilfe-Gruppe. Da gab es nicht einen Verwundeten!
Zeigt mir etwas, das dieses übertreffen kann. Jawohl, er hatte kein Krankenhaus, keine Schwestern und er verlor nicht einen Mann, so lange sie im Willen und im Wort des Herrn blieben. Gott bewies, dass Er mit ihnen war. So ist es!
Paßt nun auf! Wir sehen, dass Josua wußte, dass sie während der Nacht entwischen und sich wieder vereinigen würden, um eine andere, große Armee zu bilden. So hätte er am andern Tag große Probleme mit ihnen gehabt. Er wußte nicht, was er tun sollte, und so schaute er hinauf zu Gott. Er brauchte Hilfe. Er benötigte die Sonne, dass sie stillstand. Und so befahl er einfach der Sonne stillzustehen. Dem Mond gebot er über Ajalon zu bleiben und sich nicht zu bewegen, erst auf seinen Befehl. Und die Sonne und der Mond standen während vierundzwanzig Stunden still, während Josua die Schlacht kämpfte und den Feind besiegte, denn er befand sich mitten in seinem Auftrag.
Er hatte ein Recht, dieses zu tun, denn er gehorchte dem Befehl Gottes.
E-36 Und so lange ihr eure Pflicht tut, das Wort Gottes hält und das tut, was Er euch aufgetragen hat, wenn ihr in den Befehlen Gottes marschiert, dann habt ihr ein Recht, zu diesem Berge zu sprechen: „Bewege dich!” Gott hält Sein Wort. Wenn ihr zu diesem Berge sagt: „Bewege dich”, und in euren Herzen nicht zweifelt, sondern glaubt, dass das, was ihr gesagt habt, geschehen wird, dann könnt ihr haben, was ihr gesprochen habt. Jesus sagte dies in Markus 11, 22. Das ist die Wahrheit! Ich weiß, es ist die Wahrheit! Es ist Gottes Wort, und das beweist, dass es die Wahrheit ist.
Doch wir fürchten. Manchmal wir kommen dahin, dass wir befürchten. Er halte Sein Wort nicht. Er wird dieses Wort halten. Er sagte. Er werde es halten. Wir sehen, dass dies stimmt. Er hat es bewiesen.
E-37 Da war einst Jesajas Prophetie über etwas, das noch nie geschehen war, niemals vorher und auch später nicht. Er sagte: „Eine Jungfrau wird empfangen!” Könnt ihr euch eine Frau vorstellen, die ein Kind bekommt, ohne einen Mann zu kennen? Jesaja sagte: „Eine Jungfrau wird empfangen!” Und Gott machte, dass eine Jungfrau empfing, um Sein Wort als wahr zu beweisen. Er bewies Sein Wort, denn die Jungfrau empfing und sie brachte den Sohn hervor.
Seht nun, was dieses fleischgewordene Wort tat. Als der Sohn hervorkam, da war Er das Wort selbst! Am Anfang war das Wort und das Wort war bei Gott, und das Wort war Gott. Und das Wort wurde Fleisch und wohnte unter uns. Er war dieses lebende Wort. Er bewies, dass Er dieses lebende Wort war.
Er sagte zu den Lehrern jenes Tages: „Wer kann mich einer Sünde anklagen?” Sünde ist Unglauben. „Wer kann zu mir sagen, ich sei ein Ungläubiger? Jedes Wort. das über mich geschrieben wurde, ist erfüllt worden.” Die letzten sieben Voraussagen über Sein Leben wurden in den letzten sieben Stunden am Kreuz erfüllt. Alles was über Ihn geschrieben war, erfüllte sich, denn Er war das Wort. Er bewies, dass Er es war. Er heilte die Kranken, erweckte die Toten, Er besiegte den Tod, die Hölle und das Grab. Er bewies, dass Er das Wort war.
E-38 Betrachtet nun diesen Fall, hier im Haus des Jairus. Er sagte ihnen die Wahrheit. Wir sehen Ihn, wie Er den See überquert. Er kommt an - da war eine kleine Frau auf dem Hügel, die all ihr Geld den Ärzten gegeben hatte. Ohne Zweifel hatten die Ärzte alles getan, was sie konnten, um die Frau zu heilen. Vermutlich waren es hebräische Ärzte. Sie war eine hebräische Frau. Und so hatten sie alles getan, was sie für ihre Schwester tun konnten, wenn sie auch nichts fanden, um diesen Blutfluß zu stoppen; vielleicht war es in der Zeit ihrer Wechseljahre. Und ihr Blut war geflossen bis... das kleine Wesen war so schwach geworden, dass sie kaum mehr gehen konnte. Dann hörte sie von Jesus. Als sie sah, wie das kleine Boot ans Ufer stieß, da ging sie hinunter, sie wollte der Sache nachgehen.
E-39 Viele seiner Kritiker standen dort. Auch heute ist Er nicht frei von Kritik. Wenn sie gewußt hätten, wer Er ist, hätten sie Ihn nicht kritisiert. Doch sie waren Seine Kritiker, weil sie nicht wußten, wer Er war. Und so ist es heute mit der Botschaft. Viele gute Männer und Frauen kritisieren dieses, weil sie nicht wissen, was es ist.
Jesus sagte: „Hättet ihr Moses gekannt, dann würdet ihr mich kennen. Moses hat von mir gesprochen. Viele große Männer hatten ein Verlangen, diesen Tag zu sehen. Wenn ich nicht die Werke meines Vaters tue, dann glaubt mir nicht. Ich habe ein größeres Zeugnis als Johannes, denn die Werke, die ich tue, beweisen, dass der Vater mit mir ist.” Er hatte größere Werke, denn Er war der Bestätigte. Auch Johannes wurde erkannt als „die Stimme, die da ruft in der Wüste.” Doch als Er kam, da war Er der Prophet, von dem Moses gesagt hatte, dass Er kommen würde.

Wie ich kürzlich sagte, dass Er in drei Namen kommt. Im Namen des Sohnes Gottes, als Menschensohn und als Sohn Davids. Als Er das erste Mal auf Erden war, da war Er der Menschensohn. Damals konnte Er nicht Sohn Gottes sein. Er hat es auch nie beansprucht. Er sagte, Er sei der Sohn des Menschen. Wenn jemand Ihn in Frage stellte, dann sagte Er: „Ihr seht den Menschensohn... der Menschensohn.”
Nun, der Menschensohn ist ein Prophet. Er mußte in dieser Weise kommen, denn die Schrift... Er kann nicht im Gegensatz zur Schrift kommen. Aus diesem Grunde kann heute unsere Botschaft dieser Stunde nicht durch Theologen und Theologie kommen. Es muss wieder zur selben Sache zurückkommen, die Er zu tun verheißen hat! Es muss so sein.
Und so sehen wir bei diesem Mann, dass Er ein Prophet sein mußte. Dort war Er nicht der Sohn Gottes, Er mußte Menschensohn sein. Jehova selbst nannte die Propheten Menschensohn, z.B. Jeremia und andere. „Wenn ihr den Menschensohn sehen werdet...” „Wer ist der Menschensohn?” so fragten sie immer wieder. Dort erfüllte Er sein Amt als Menschensohn.
Dann erfüllte Er Sein Amt als Sohn Gottes, Gott ist ein Geist. Und durch die Gemeindezeitalter diente Er als Sohn Gottes. Im Tausendjährigen Reich wird Er der Sohn Davids sein, wenn Er auf dem Thron Davids sitzt. Er wird den Thron erben - Sohn Davids, Menschensohn, Sohn Gottes, Sohn Davids, und immer ist es derselbe Mann; genauso wie Vater, Sohn und Heiliger Geist, die Ämter Gottes. Er war Gott der Vater, dann wurde Er zum Sohn Gottes, jetzt ist Er der Heilige Geist. Nicht drei Götter, es ist ein Gott in drei Manifestationen, es sind drei Eigenschaften desselben Gottes.
E-41 Jetzt finden wir.... Wir sehen, dass Gott in dieser Stunde, in der wir leben, Sein Wort genauso hält wie damals. Wir sehen, dass Er dort über den See kam. Jene Frau glaubte Ihm. Etwas in ihr begann zu pochen. Sie hatte keine Schriftstelle dafür. Sie hatte ebensowenig eine Schriftstelle, wie Josua, als er die Sonne stoppte. Doch sie glaubte in ihrem Herzen, dass Er der Sohn Gottes war. Und so sagte sie: „Wenn ich nur den Saum Seines Kleides berühren kann, dann werde ich geheilt werden.” Sie drängte sich durch die Menge, bis sie Sein Kleid berühren konnte, und der Blutfluß hörte auf.
Dann schaute Er über die Menge, um herauszufinden, wer Ihn berührt hatte. Ohne Zweifel war da jemand. Er hielt ein. All die Menschen bedrängten ihn und einige spotteten über Ihn, einige lachten Ihn aus, die Priester standen da und stellten Ihn in Frage, die Geistlichen und so weiter. Doch da war jemand, der Ihm glaubte, und nach einer Weile hielt Er ein. Plötzlich wandte Er sich um und fragte: „Wer hat mich berührt?”
Einige sagten: „Aber Meister...” ich glaube es war Petrus - „Aber die ganze Menge bedrängt dich doch! Was soll das? Wer hat mich berührt? Alle berühren Dich doch!”
Er antwortete: „Aber ich fühle, dass Kraft von mir gegangen ist.” Er wurde schwach. Das war eine andere Berührung gewesen!
E-42 Bruder, Schwester, wenn wir das nur sehen könnten! Wenn ihr Ihn mit dieser besonderen Berührung berühren könnt. O ihr kranken Menschen, ich werde in einigen Minuten für euch beten. Ich glaube, dass ich den Heiligen Geist habe; nicht mehr vom Heiligen Geist als ihr habt und wie ihn die Männer dort draußen haben, denselben Heiligen Geist. Doch es geht um einen Auftrag Gottes. Und wenn ihr glaubt, dass das ein Auftrag Gottes ist, das Beten für die Kranken und das Auflegen der Hände, das Hinauswerfen von üblen Geistern, und die Verheißungen, die Er gab, dann wird es bei euch dasselbe bewirken. Ihr bekommt, was ihr bittet, wenn ihr es nur glauben könnt. „Kannst du glauben, dass Ich dies tun kann”, sagte Jesus.
„Ja, Herr, ich glaube”, sagte der Mann mit dem epileptischen Kind. „Ich glaube, dass Du der Sohn Gottes bist, der in die Welt kommen soll.” Wir wissen, dass nur diese Einstellung die Resultate hervorbringt.
E-43 Nun, es eilt, doch wir wollen eine Augenblick über Ihn nachdenken. Hier finden wir Ihn auf Seinem Weg dort hinauf. Ein kleiner Priester kommt herab. Es besteht kein Zweifel, dieser kleine Mann ist ein „Grenzgänger-Gläubiger”. Solche gibt es heute so viele in der Welt, kleine „Grenzgänger-Gläubige”. Sie möchten es glauben; sie möchten glauben, dass der Heilige Geist Wirklichkeit ist. Sie möchten glauben, dass dies eine apostolische Bewegung ist, wie sie von Gott verheißen wurde, dass Er Seinen Geist in den letzten Tagen ausgießen werde. Sie möchten an Maleachi 4 [3:23 - Verf.] glauben, dass Er verheißen hat, dass der ursprüngliche, pfingstliche Glaube der Gemeinde wiedererstattet wird.
Maleachi 4 hält dies fest: „Siehe, ich sende euch Elia in den letzten Tagen.” So ist es. „Und er wird den Glauben der Kinder zurückbringen zum Glauben der Väter.” Seht ihr? und auch „den Glauben der Väter zu den Kindern.” Seht ihr, es muss...
Ihr sagt: „Das war Johannes der Täufer.” Nein, nein.
Johannes der Täufer war Maleachi 3, das ist richtig. Matthäus 11 sagt es. „Wenn ihr es nehmen könnt, dies ist der, von dem geschrieben steht: Siehe, ich sende meinen Boten vor deinem Angesicht her.” Das war Elia. Gewiß. Jesus sagte, dass er es war. Das ist aber auf keinen Fall der Elia von Maleachi 4.
E-44 Denn unmittelbar nach seiner Botschaft soll die Welt mit Feuer verbrannt werden und die Gerechten werden über die Asche der Üblen schreiten. Das geschah nie in der Zeit von Johannes.
Wir brauchen eine Botschaft, die das Ganze zurückfegt und die Menschen aus diesen denominationellen Zuständen herausbringt, zurück zum ursprünglichen, echten pfingstlichen Glauben. Und wir sahen, wie das getan wurde. Es ist die Erfüllung einer Schriftstelle, die geschehen muss. Alle Schrift muss erfüllt werden.
Wir könnten noch viele Stellen anführen, doch es würde mich mehr Zeit kosten, es zu zeigen, als ich nun zur Verfügung habe. Doch ihr versteht, dass diese Dinge für Abrahams Kinder genauso geschehen müssen wie Er sie verheißen hat.
E-45 Wir sehen nun Jesus hinaufgehen, um das kleine Mädchen zu heilen, denn ihr Vater, der kleine „Grenzgänger-Gläubige” war zu dem Punkt gekommen, wo er Jesus anerkennen mußte. Die Ärzte hatten es aufgegeben. Er setzte seinen kleinen, schwarzen Hut auf und machte sich auf, um zu sehen, ob er Jesus finden würde. Seht, er ist immer genau dort, wenn ihr ihn benötigt! Er fand ihn, als er gerade das Ufer erreichte.
Und er sagte: „Komm zu meinem kleinen Mädchen, lege ihr die Hände auf, und sie wird gesund werden.” Er sagte: „Sie liegt im Sterben. Sie ist mein einziges Kind. Sie ist zwölf Jahre alt, und wir haben keine andern Kinder. Meine Frau und ich werden langsam alt, und dies ist das einzige Kind, das wir haben, und sie ist am Sterben. Herr, ich glaube Dir! Wenn du nur kommen würdest, um Deine Hände auf sie zu legen, dann würde sie gesund werden.”
Seht ihr, was er erkannte? Er erkannte, dass dieses verheißene Wort in diesem Mann manifestiert war. Genauso, wie damals Nikodemus sagte: „Rabbi, Lehrer, wir wissen, dass Du ein Lehrer bist, der von Gott gekommen ist. Wir wissen es, die Pharisäer wissen es.” Warum haben sie es nicht zugegeben? „Kein Mensch kann diese Dinge tun, es sei denn, Gott ist mit ihm. Wir wissen, dass Du von Gott kommst.”
E-46 Hier sehen wir nun, dass Jairus dasselbe glaubte. Er sagte: „Komm, lege Deine Hände...” Er wußte, dass Gott in ihm war, „lege Deine Hände auf mein Kind, auch wenn es schon im Sterben liegt, es wird leben!”
Er ging sofort mit ihm dahin, und während sie dahingingen, kam ein Bote gelaufen und sagte: „Mach ihm keine Schwierigkeiten. Bemühe den Meister nicht mehr, das Mädchen ist tot! Sie ist jetzt gestorben, sie ist dahingegangen.”
Jesus wandte sich zu Jairus und sagte: „Habe Ich dir nicht gesagt, wenn du nur glauben könntest, dann würdest du die Herrlichkeit Gottes sehen, wenn du nur glauben würdest.”
Er kam in das Zimmer, und dort waren sie alle am Jammern, Weinen und Wehklagen, so, wie es alle Menschen tun würden. Ein feines, kleines Mädchen, die Tochter eines Pastoren, war gestorben. Sie war von der Welt genommen worden. Vermutlich war sie schon seit Stunden tot. Man hatte sie aufs Liegebett gelegt, vielleicht waren sie schon bereit, um ihren Leib einzubalsamieren, um sie für das Begräbnis bereitzulegen.
E-47 Dann sehen wir, dass Jesus ins Haus geschritten kam. Sie waren alle am Wehklagen, doch Er sagte: „Seid stille.” Er sagte: „Sie ist nicht tot, sie schläft nur.”
Könnt ihr euch vorstellen, was sie dachten? „Diesen Mann kennen wir doch. Wir wissen, dass er ein uneheliches Kind war und wir haben von seinen voreiligen Prophezeiungen gehört, die er macht. Jetzt wissen wir, dass der Priester recht hat. Der Mann ist verrückt! Wir wissen doch, dass sie tot ist. Der Arzt hat ihren Tod schon bekanntgegeben. Dort liegt sie ja, sie ist dahingegangen, wir wissen, dass sie tot ist.” So sprachen sie. Sie lachten Ihn aus, voller Verachtung. Mit andern Worten, sie beschämten ihn durch ihre Kritik.
Doch Er hatte bereits gesagt, sie sei nicht tot. Mehr braucht es nicht! „Sie schläft!” Wieviele Kritiker auch da waren. Er ging und bewies Sein Wort.
Er tat sie alle aus dem Haus. „Bringt all die Ungläubigen weg!” Er nahm Petrus, Jakobus und Johannes, die Gläubigen, drei Zeugen und den Vater und die Mutter. Er ging hinein und nahm die Tochter bei der Hand. Dann sprach Er in einer Sprache, die ihre Seele rief, von irgendwoher aus der Ewigkeit; und das Mädchen lebte!
E-48 Was tat Er? Er bewies Sein Wort. Er bestätigte das, was Er gesagt hatte. Sie war nicht tot, sie schlief nur.
Während wir uns damit befassen, sehen wir, dass er dort noch etwas anderes bewies.
Er bewies, dass Er Gott war! Er bewies, dass Er Vorherwissen hatte. Beachtet nun, was Sein Wort aussagte: „Sie ist nicht tot, sondern sie schläft.” Seht ihr? Sie war überhaupt nicht tot, sie schlief. Er zeigte Sein Vorherwissen.
Vielleicht sind am selben Morgen viele kleine Mädchen gestorben, doch diese war nicht tot, sie schlief, wie Lazarus. Und Er rief sie hervor aus diesem Schlafe, denn sie war nicht tot. „Und wer an Mich glaubt, der wird leben, auch wenn er stirbt. Und wer immer auch lebt und an Mich glaubt, der wird niemals sterben.”
Es sind nur jene, die im Lebensbuch des Lammes sind, jene, die Er erlöste, als Er starb, jene sind es, die Er an jenem Tag aus diesem Schlafe rufen wird. Jene, die durch Seine Kraft lebendig gemacht wurden und diese lebendigmachende Kraft in sich tragen, wie ich gestern Abend sagte. Sogar als Elisa gestorben war, und seine Knochen im Grabe lagen, da war diese lebendigmachende Kraft immer noch auf seinen Knochen.
E-49 Gewiß hat Er bewiesen, wer Er war.
Nun - wir sehen auch, dass Er im Hebräer, Kap. 4, im 12. Vers, ebenso bewiesen hat, dass Er das Wort Gottes war. Gewiß hat Er dies getan. Schaut was Er tat. Hebräer 4:12 sagt, dass das Wort Gottes kräftiger und schneller ist, als ein zweischneidiges Schwert. Es entblößt auch die Gedanken und Absichten des Herzens.
Paßt nun einen Augenblick auf. Als Er am Anfang mit Seinem Dienst begann, als Er aus der Wüste kam, aus Seiner Versuchung, da war ein Mann, der Petrus genannt wurde; sein Name war damals Simon. Dieser kam mit seinem Bruder Andreas zu Jesus. Und sobald er in die Gegenwart von Jesus Christus kam, sagte Jesus: „Dein Name ist Simon und dein Vater war Jonas. Von nun an sollst du Petrus genannt werden.” Das bewies, dass Er das Wort war, denn das Wort unterscheidet die Gedanken und Absichten des Herzens. Er war das Wort!
E-50 Philippus sah, wie das geschah. Er zog los, ging um den Berg, war einen Tag weg und kam dann zurück. Er brachte einen Freund mit, der hieß Nathanael. Er sagte zu ihm: „Diese Dinge geschehen wirklich”. Moses sagte: „Gott, der Herr, wird einen Propheten erwecken wie mich”, und hier ist dieser Mann! Warum? Er sagte zu Simon, wer er war und sogar noch wer sein Vater war. Und wir wissen, dass das, was Er sagt, die Wahrheit ist, weil Gott es in Seinem Wort sagt. Und hier ist es bewiesen, dass Er das tun mußte, und das beweist, dass dies der Messias ist.“
Und als er in Seine Gegenwart trat, sagte Jesus zu ihm: „Siehe ein Israelite, in dem nichts Falsches ist!”
Er sagte: „Rabbi, woher kennst Du mich?”
Er sagte: „Bevor Philippus dich rief, als du noch unter dem Baume warst, habe Ich dich gesehen.”
Er bewies Sein Wort. Er bestätigte Gottes Wort, und das tat Er.
E-51 Die Frau am Brunnen - als sie... nun. Er bat sie, um einen Trunk aus dem Schöpfgefäß, das sie vom Brunnen heraufzog. Und sie sagte: „Es gehört sich nicht für euch Juden, eine Frau aus Samaria so etwas zu fragen, denn wir haben keinen Umgang miteinander.”
Er sagte: „Wenn du wüßtest, mit wem du sprichst, dann würdest du mich um einen Trunk bitten.”
Sie sagte: „Der Brunnen ist tief.” Und die Unterhaltung, als es weiterging ....
Schließlich fand er heraus, was ihre Schwierigkeiten waren, und er sagte: „Geh und hol deinen Mann und komm her.”
Sie sagte: „Ich habe keinen Mann.”
Er sagte: „Du hast die Wahrheit gesprochen, denn du hattest deren fünf. Und derjenige, mit dem du jetzt lebst ist nicht dein Mann.”
Sie sagte: „Mein Herr, ich sehe, dass Du ein Prophet bist. Wir hatten keinen während vierhundert Jahren (wie ihr wißt). Sie sagte: „Ich erkenne, dass Du ein Prophet bist. Und wir wissen, wenn der Messias kommen wird, der Christus genannt wird, wenn Er kommt, wird Er uns diese Art von Dingen sagen. Das wird Sein Zeichen sein,”
Er sagte: „Ich bin es, der mit dir spricht.” [Bewegung in der Versammlung. - Verf.] Er bewies Sein Wort. Er bewies, was Er zu sein beanspruchte. Er war der Messias, der Sohn Gottes.
E-52 Nun, wir sehen auch, dass Er dieser kleine Frau, welche den Blutfluß hatte, bewies, dass er das Wort Gottes war. Nun denkt daran, heute Abend...
Jesus sagte auch, im dritten Kapitel von Hebräerbrief, dass er nun Hohepriester ist, in diesem Zeitalter, in dem wir nun leben. Ein Hohepriester, der in der Majestät Gottes sitzt in den Himmeln, der durch das Fühlen unserer Schwachheit berührt werden kann. Hebräer 13:8 sagt, dass Er derselbe ist, gestern, heute und für immer. Er ist derselbe Gott, wie Er damals war. Er ist derselbe heute Abend.
In Joh. 14:12 sagt Er: „Wer an mich glaubt, der wird die Werke, die Ich tue, auch tun, denn ich gehe zum Vater.” [King James Bibel: „Er, der an mich glaubt, er wird die Werke, die ich tue auch tun.” - Verf.] Seht ihr. Er, der an mich glaubt, er wird die Werke, die ich tue auch tun.
In Matth. 28 sagt Er: „Eine kleine Weile, und die Welt wird Mich nicht mehr sehen, ihr aber werdet Mich sehen, denn Ich werde mit euch sein bis ans Ende der Welt.”
Jesus Christus ist derselbe, gestern, heute und für immer. Er steht heute Abend da, um Sein Wort zu beweisen. Meine Zeit ist nun vorüber. Aber Er bewies... Er konnte Sein Wort damals halten, das Er für jenen Tag verheißen hatte. Er hat die Worte Jesajas bewiesen. Er bewies die Worte Noahs. Er bewies die Worte Moses. Er bewies alle Worte dieser Propheten.
E-53 Er hat verheißen, dass in diesen Tagen, in den Tagen, in denen wir nun leben, dass die Welt wieder in einem sodomitischen Zustand sein würde - mit Homosexuellen.
Schaut es euch doch an in dieser heutigen Welt. Es ist überall, auf der ganzen Welt, überall, wo ich auch hinreise, nicht nur hier. Es ist kritisch geworden. In Schweden gehen junge Männer und junge Frauen nackt zum Skilaufen. In Deutschland, in Frankreich und überall, es ist ein verrücktes Treiben wie hier in den Vereinigten Staaten. Es ist das Zeitalter.
Wenn ich je eine Gelegenheit hätte, noch einmal hierher zurückzukommen, dann wurde ich gerne über einige prophetische Dinge zu euch sprechen. Ich würde euch zeigen, dass die Bibel sagt, dass die Kinder in dem Zeitalter, in dem wir leben, die Eltern regieren. [Leerstelle auf Band. - Verf.] Wort.
E-54 Doch denkt daran, dass Abraham einen Samen hatte, und der Same war Isaak. Er hatte noch andere Samen nach Sarahs Tod. Und er war 145 Jahre alt und heiratete eine andere Frau. Er hatte sieben Söhne, neben den Töchtern, denn Gott hatte ihn wieder zu einem jungen Mann gemacht als er hundert Jahre alt war. Dann war er wieder nur 45 Jahre alt. Wir wissen das. Das habe ich euch hier in Kalifornien vor Jahren gepredigt.
Wir verstehen nun, dass der Same Abrahams nicht der buchstäbliche, sexuelle Same durch Sarah war, Isaak, der eine Nation gründete. Doch der königliche Same kam durch die Verheißung, und das war Jesus Christus. Und durch diesen Samen ließ Er einen königlichen Samen hervorkommen. Oh, nun sind wir eine königliche Priesterschaft, eine königliche Nation, eine heilige Nation, die Gott Lobpreisungen darbringt, das Opfer unserer Lippen, die Seinen Namen preisen.
Gott hat Sein Wort bewiesen. Er hat den Heiligen Geist über uns ausgegossen.
E-55 Er sagte: „So wie es war in den Tagen Sodoms, so wird es sein am Tag, wenn der Menschensohn offenbart wird.” Habt ihr beachtet, dass Er vom Sohne Gottes her - unmittelbar bevor Er zum Sohn Davids wird - dass Er sich wieder als Menschensohn offenbart?
Habt ihr die Schriftstelle beachtet? So macht Er es immer: Er tut nie etwas, ohne dass Er es Seinen Dienern, den Propheten bekannt gibt. Genauso macht Er es, so lautete Seine Verheißung. Er tut es nie anders, denn Gott kann nicht lügen. Er offenbart es immer vorher, bevor Er es tut.
E-56 Betrachtet den Zustand, in dem wir uns heule befinden. Schaut, wo wir angekommen sind. Jeder von euch wird zugeben, dass wir in einem modernen Sodom sind. Ihr wißt, dass unser Land da hineingegangen ist. Sie befinden sich jenseits der Hoffnung. Für diese Nation ist kein Heil mehr übrig geblieben, auch nicht für ein anderes Land. Das liegt nun hinter uns. Die Prophezeiungen, die darüber prophezeiten, sind erfüllt. Gott liest noch Ähren zusammen, um dieses letzte kleine Lamm zu finden, wo immer es auch ist. Eines Tages werden alle drinnen sein. Wir sind in der Endzeit. Schaut, wo unser Standort ist.
Ich bitte euch - einfach als Bruder - Brüder, Schwestern, nur um für einen Augenblick noch mehr Glauben aufzubauen, bevor wir für diese Menschen beten. Ich weiß, dass wir uns nicht nach einer bestimmten Zeit richten müssen, doch ich möchte mit der Gebetsreihe beginnen. Dann könnt ihr gehen, ihr, die ihr gehen müßt. Und ihr, die ihr in der Gebetsreihe bleiben möchtet, ihr könnt bleiben. Doch ich möchte einfach als euer Bruder für einen Augenblick etwas deutlich machen.
E-57 Beachtet Jesus in Lukas 17:30, wie Er dort über die Endzeit spricht, dass sie so sein würden, wie in den Tagen Noahs. Dann sagte Er noch: „Ebenso wie in den Tagen Sodoms... Er sagte: „Wenn der Menschensohn geoffenbart wird,” Wieder ist es der Menschensohn; nicht der Sohn Gottes, der Menschensohn.
Seht, das zeigt uns sofort Maleachi 4. Und alle andern Prophezeiungen kommen direkt hervor - wie es geschehen müsse. Er bestätigt Sein Wort. So ist es. Schaut, während Er das tut, wie Er auch Seinen Geist über allem Fleisch ausgießen wird und was dann geschehen soll, wie die Wiedererstattung zurückkommen wird, und eure Söhne und Tochter werden weissagen. Über meinen Mägden und meinen Dienerinnen werde Ich von Meinen Geist ausgießen. Und Ich werde Zeichen zeigen in den Himmeln.
E-58 Ich habe eine Fotografie bei mir von Bruder Lee Vayle, die ich euch gerne zeigen möchte. Von der Sache, die kürzlich auf dem Berge geschehen ist, als alle Schulkinder hinaus durften - unmittelbar bevor dieses große Thema über die Öffnung der Siegel kam - als die Schulkinder ins Freie durften, als ich dort oben betete. Dort kam Feuer herab, in der Form eines Trichters, dann ging es wieder hinauf, auseinanderberstend, es drehte sich und kam wieder zurück. Dort war es, wo Er mir sagte, was ich den Menschen sagen sollte.
Dort war es, wo es die Schulen in Tucson sahen und wo es hinauf in die Luft ging. Und die Wissenschaft machte die Fotos davon, und sie rätselten drüber. Sie sagten: „Wo ist es? Was ist geschehen?” Sie können es nicht herausfinden. Oh, es geschah nicht in einem Winkel, es hat nur ihren Verstand verdunkelt.
Es nie.... Als Jesus hier war, gab es Millionen von Menschen, die niemals wußten, dass Er auf Erden war. Heute werden es Millionen sein, die nicht verstehen, viele Millionen. Doch jene, zu denen es gesandt wurde, sie werden es verstehen. Die Weisen werden ihren Gott an jenem Tage kennen, und sie werden es erforschen. Wir erkennen, dass die Stunde, in der wir nun leben...
E-59 Blickt nun nach Sodom und schaut, was geschah. Er sagte: „Wie es war in den Tagen Sodoms...” Da gab es eine Gruppe von Menschen, die einen verheißenen Sohn erwarteten. Das glauben wir doch? Das war Abraham und seine Gruppe. Dann gab es noch eine lauwarme Gruppe, Lot, halb abgefallen, doch er war ein Gläubiger dort unten in Sodom. Drei verschiedene Klassen von Menschen. Immer sind es diese drei Klassen. Die Leute von Ham, Sem und Japhet. Und so gibt es auch Gläubige, gemachte Gläubige und Ungläubige. Sie sind überall. Wir finden sie in jeder Gruppe. Ihr findet sie überall. Diese Gruppen sind immer noch da. Das müßt ihr unterscheiden. Ihr könnt es durch die ganze Schrift hindurch verfolgen, - es paßt genau hinein.
Hört nun und seht, wo wir uns heute Abend befinden, unsere Position in prophetische Hinsicht. Nun, jeder von uns weiß, dass die Welt in einer sodomitischen Verfassung ist. Wir kennen all die Prophetien, und Israel ist ein seinen Heimatland. Wenn ihr wissen wollt, wo wir mit den Nationen stehen, dann beobachtet Israel, seht, wo es sich befindet.
Wenn ihr wissen möchtet, in welchem Zustand die Gemeinde ist, dann schaut wie die Frauen handeln. Sie repräsentieren die Gemeinde. Seht, wie unmoralisch und wie unanständig sie sind. Beobachtet es, und schaut, wo sich die Gemeinde befindet, beobachtet es einfach. Beobachtet einfach die Frauen, wie die Frauen fallen und so beschmutzt werden, und so steht es mit euren Gemeinden.
Beobachtet, wo sich Israel befindet, dann seht ihr den Zeitpunkt, wo wir uns befinden. Beobachtet einfach diese Zeichen und Wunder. Wenn eure Augen geöffnet sind, dann seht ihr, wo wir uns befinden.
E-60 Beobachtet nun, wo wir uns stellungsmäßig befinden. Die Welt ist im Zustande Sodoms. Seht jetzt: „Wie es war...”. Schaut nun, damals in jenen Tagen war jemand, der einen verheißenen Sohn erwartete; Abraham und Sarah. In Abrahams Gruppe warteten sie auf einen verheißenen Sohn. Sie befanden sich nicht in Sodom.
Doch gerade in dem Augenblick, im letzten Abschnitt des Ereignisses, unmittelbar, bevor der verheißene Sohn kam, da kamen drei Männer vom Himmel. Ein Engel... zwei Engel und Gott. Und Sie kamen herab und sprachen mit Abraham unter der Eiche. Ist das richtig?
Zwei von ihnen gingen nach Sodom hinab und schrien gegen die Sünden der Stadt. Und das geschah damals gerade bevor die heidnische Welt verbrannt wurde. Ganz Sodom ging dann sofort zugrunde. Nur einige wurden herausgezogen, Lot und seine zwei Töchter. Seine Frau schaffte es nicht, sie wandte sich um. Oh, wie möchte ich, dass ich nun Zeit hätte, um euch gerade jetzt zu zeigen, in welcher Situation sich die Gemeinde jetzt befindet.
Ich möchte, dass ihr das seht.
E-61 Ein Mann blieb zurück und sprach mit Abraham und tat vor Abraham ein Zeichen. Paßt nun auf! Abraham hatte Gott in vielen mächtigen Zeichen gesehen. Das glauben wir doch, nicht wahr? Unmittelbar bevor der Sohn kam, bevor sich der Sohn manifestierte, wurde ihm ein Zeichen gegeben, denn der wahre Sohn sollte der Sohn Gottes sein durch Abrahams Glauben. Seht ihr? Das war Jesus! Weil wir Abrahams Same sind, in Christus gestorben, sind wir Abrahams Same.
E-62 Seht nun, gerade bevor dies geschah, wo dieser Sohn kommen sollte….
Da hatte dieser Eine, der bei Abraham blieb und mit ihm sprach Seinen Rücken zum Zelt gewandt, und Er sagte: „Abraham!” Nur einen Tag vorher war er noch Abram. Und Er sagte: „Abraham, wo ist Sarah, deine Frau?” Nicht Sarai, S-a-r-a-i, sondern S-a-r-a-h - Fürstin. „Wo ist Sarah, deine Frau?
Er sagte: „Sie ist im Zelt hinter dir.
Er sagte: „Ich werde dich wieder besuchen”, seht ihr, „aufgrund der Verheißung, die Ich dir gegeben habe.” Mit andern Worten: „Zur Zeit des Lebens!” Sarah wird wieder einen Anfang haben mit der üblichen Zeit des Lebens.
Da nun Sarah alt war, nun war sie hundert Jahre alt, darum lachte sie in ihren Ärmel. Seht, sie lächelte vor sich hin und sagte: „Wie kann dieser Mann recht haben?” Seht ihr? „Ich, eine alte Frau, und mein Herr, Abraham dort draußen ist auch alt.” Schon seit Jahren hatten sie keinen Verkehr mehr miteinander. Sie sagte: „Wie könnte ich je wieder Vergnügen haben mit meinem Herrn? Er ist alt und ich bin alt.” Die Zeit der Fruchtbarkeit ist vorüber, die Milchdrüsen dahin, alles ist vertrocknet. „Wie könnten wir je wieder Vergnügen haben?”
Doch dieser Mann - sein Rücken war dem Zelt zugewandt - sagte: „Warum hat Sarah gelacht und sagt: Wie kann so etwas geschehen?” Was war das? Unterscheidung, prophetisches Erkennen; seht ihr?
E-63 Er sagte, dass das zurückkommen werde. Und der Menschensohn, der es war... gerade dort war der Menschensohn. Nun, er nannte Ihn Elohim, (hm, hm), Herr Gott, Elohim. Jeder weiß, dass das richtig ist. ELOHIM ist Gott, der Herr. Am Anfang schuf Gott Himmel und Erde - der für alles ausreichende Eine, der Menschensohn, der Fleisch wurde. Dort stand Er damals, zu jener Zeit, im Fleisch, wie eine Theophanie [Erscheinung Gottes - Verf.]. Er stand dort und erkannte, was Sarah im Zelt hinter ihm sagte. Er hat verheißen... paßt auf: Dem königlichen Samen Abrahams ist verheißen, dass er dieselbe Sache sehen werde.
Doch seht nun Lot. Auch er hatte einen Botschafter dort unten. Zwei gingen dort hinunter. Einer ging hinab und der Andere ging mit ihm. Und sie predigten und warnten die Menschen, vor dem kommenden Zorne zu fliehen.
E-64 Von der Zeit an, als Jesus die Verheißung gab, bis heute, war die Welt noch nie im Zeitpunkt dieses Besitzes. Erst jetzt ist das geschehen.
Ich möchte jeden Historiker fragen, der hier im Gebäude sein könnte, oder wenn es einer vom Tonband hört, dann schreibt mir bitte. Ich habe nun etwa 30 Jahre Geschichte studiert, die Geschichte der Bibel, und da war nie eine Person, und ich habe in der ganzen Geschichte der Kirche keinen Botschafter gesehen, in allen Gemeindezeitaltern - nun sind wir in Laodizea, das wissen wir - es gab nie einen Botschafter, der zur ganzen Gemeinde ging, dessen Namen mit h-a-m endete. Erst heute kam einer, G-r-a-h-a-m, Billy Graham. Da gab es Moody, Finney, Sankey, Knox, Luther usw., noch niemals einen h-a-m, Vater von Nationen. Doch denkt daran, er heißt G-r-a-h-a-m, das sind sechs Buchstaben, doch A-b-r-a-h-a-m hat sieben Buchstaben.
Seht, sie sind dort unten, Billy Graham geht zu den äußeren Enden der Erde und ruft heraus aus Sodom. „Kommt heraus! Flieht vor dem kommenden Zorne!” Ich kenne keinen Mann auf dem Missionsfeld, der in diesem Wort der Rechtfertigung solch eine Hoffnung [oder einen Halt - Verf.] von Gott hat wie Billy Graham. Er kann es darstellen. Er ist nicht solch ein Theologe, - ich glaube, er ist Theologe - doch er ist nicht ein so mächtiger Lehrer, aber Gott ist mit ihm. Dieser Mann steht damit da, wie mit einer Sonntagsschullektion und die Menschen sind sprachlos dabei. Er ist Gottes Diener für die Stunde. Für wen? Für die natürliche Gemeinde, die in Sodom ist.
Doch denkt daran, da gab es auch eine geistliche Gemeinde, die nicht diese denominationelle Kleidung trug. Eine herausgerufene Gruppe. Auch sie empfingen eine Botschaft und auch einen Botschafter. Was war es? Ein Erkennen der Gedanken, die im Herzen waren. Gott beweist Sein Wort immer.
E-65 Lass uns beten.
Geliebter himmlischer Vater, in diesem kritischen Augenblick, wo Entscheidungen getroffen werden müssen - die Zeit läuft ab. Wir wissen nicht, zu welcher Stunde unser Herr kommen wird. Und wir sehen, wie sich diese Prophezeiungen, die im Laufe der Zeitalter durch Deine Propheten gebracht wurden, sich jetzt entfaltet haben. O Gott, wie danke ich Dir dafür, dass gestandene Männer da sind, fähige Männer, fähig in der Theologie, die sich bei diesen Streitgesprächen den Tücken der Welt und denen der Ungläubigen stellen können. Ohne einen Schatten des Zweifels stehen sie kühn und galant da. Sie wissen, wo sie stehen und beweisen dieses Wort als Wahrheit durch die Schrift. Und wir, die wir auf Dein Kommen warten, Herr, und diese andern Dinge glauben, von denen prophezeit wurde, dass sie geschehen würden, wir können dastehen und uns freuen, weil wir sehen, wie Du unter uns wandelst und genau die Dinge hervorbringst, die Du angekündigt hast. Du beweisest, dass Dein Wort richtig ist.
Ewiger Gott, Deine kranken Kinder sitzen hier. Ich weiß nicht, wieviel Zeit wir noch haben zum Arbeiten. Die Abendsonne ist am Sinken. Doch Du hast dem Propheten versprochen, dass zur Abendzeit Licht sein werde. Und wir sehen, dass dieselbe Sonne, die im Osten aufgeht im Westen untergeht. Die Zivilisation ist mit der Sonne gereist, und nun sind wir an der Westküste. Auch das Evangelium ist mit der Zivilisation gereist.
Vater, wir wissen, dass dies das Ende des Evangeliums ist, das Ende der Zeit und das Ende des Zeitalters. Es verschwindet in die Ewigkeit. Doch Du hast verheißen, die Sonne würde hervorkommen, der Menschensohn wurde geoffenbart werden. Dies würde in den letzten Tagen geschehen. Die Abendlichter sind gekommen, Vater. Dafür danken wir Dir. Bescheiden wie es ist, und Du tust es oft so einfach, dass es über die Köpfe der sogenannten tiefen Denker hinweggeht und offenbarst es den Kindern, jenen, die lernen möchten.
E-66 Gott, ich bete, das Du es so machst heute Abend, dass Deine armen, kranken Kinder hier, die Verheißung Gottes sehen werden, dass jedes einzelne geheilt wird, dass sie Morgen von hier weggehen mit neuen, starken Leibern und wieder gesund sind. Gewähre es, Herr, dass die Botschaft von Einem zum Andern geht, bis der Letzte in der Herde ist. Dann werden die Türen geschlossen werden. Hilf uns, teurer Gott.
Ich bitte Dich heute Abend, dass Du es im Angesicht von all diesem noch einmal für mich tust, Vater. Es scheint, wie wenn es die Menschen am vorherigen Abend nicht zu sehr bemerkt hätten. Aber ich bete: Laß es heute Abend noch einmal geschehen, Herr, denn ich habe die mir zum Sprechen zugestandene Zeit überschritten. Aber ich weiß nicht, wie lange wir noch Zeit haben, um das zu tun. Und so bete ich, Vater, dass Du mich erhörst und die Gebete dieser göttlichen Männer und Frauen erhörst, die mit Deinem Geist gefüllt sind. Es sind Gläubige, Herr. Du kannst einfach unter ihnen wirken. Und wir sind... ich bete, dass Du Dein Wort bestätigst, wie Du gesagt hast: „Wer an mich glaubt, der wird die Werke, die ich tue, auch tun.” Laß es wieder geschehen, Jesus, um zu beweisen, dass Du derselbe bist, gestern, heute und für immer. Ich bitte es zur Ehre Gottes, im Namen Seines Sohnes, im Namen Jesu Christi. Amen.
E-67 Nur einen Augenblick - ich möchte wissen, wieviele Leute hier Gebetskarten haben. Erhebt alle eure Hände, wenn ihr Gebetskarten habt. Nun, das ist allgemein, ich vermute überall sind solche. Ich möchte wissen, wieviele Menschen hier sind, die keine Gebetskarten haben und krank sind? Möchtet ihr eure Hände erheben? Sagt einfach: „Ich habe keine Gebetskarte und bin doch krank, ich bin in Nöten.”
Ich möchte, dass ihr einen Augenblick ehrfürchtig seid. Ich liebe es, mit euch zu sprechen. Das ist immer mein Problem. Ich spreche zu lange. Doch ich hoffe, bevor ihr kommt, dass der Herr das, was ich gesagt habe als Wahrheit bestätigt. Laßt Ihn einfach schauen. Nun, wie viele sitzen hier, die krank sind und wissen, dass ich gar nichts über euch weiß? Erhebt eure Hände. Gut.
E-68 Ich möchte nun, dass ihr betet, jene, die keine Gebetskarten haben. Die Gebetskarten werden dann aufgerufen.
Die Bibel sagt, dass Jesus Christus derselbe ist, gestern, heute und für immer. Er sagt, Er sei der Hohepriester, der dort sitzend Fürsprache einlegt, aufgrund unserem Bekenntnis. Wir müssen es zuerst bekennen, bevor Er ein Hohepriester sein kann, denn Er legt Fürsprache ein aufgrund unseres Bekenntnisses. Ist das richtig, ihr Predigerbrüder? [“Amen.” - Verf.] Seht ihr? Er legt nur aufgrund unseres Bekenntnisses Fürsprache ein. Was wir bekennen über das, was Er ist, was Er für uns getan hat. Nicht auf dem, was Er noch tun wird. Er hat es schon getan. Er wurde verwundet für unsere Übertretungen, in Seinen Striemen sind wir geheilt.
E-69 Nun, der Himmlische Vater weiß es.
Und wenn ich über euch hinwegschaue, dann sehe ich einer meiner guten Freunde aus Ohio. Er und seine Frau sitzen dort, es ist Herr Dauch und seine Frau. Und ich glaube, als zweiter oder dritter neben ihm sitzt wieder Prediger Herr Blair, den ich gestern Abend gesehen habe. Für mich ist es dunkel über der Versammlung, wegen diesen Lichtem hier oben. Es blendet mich, und ich sehe euch nicht allzu gut.
Doch ich möchte, dass ihr betet und euer Herz auf die Sache richtet, die ihr benötigt. Dann bittet ihr euren Hohepriester, der durch das Fühlen unserer Schwachheiten berührt werden kann. Nun, ich kenne euch nicht, und mich könntet ihr überall berühren, wie ihr euren Bruder, euren Mann, euren Pastor oder irgendjemand berührt, es würde euch nichts nützen. Doch wenn ihr Ihn berührt und wir wirklich in Übereinstimmung sind mit Seinem Geiste, dann kann Er euren Glauben benutzen, um Ihn zu berühren, und durch eine Gabe spricht Er dann wieder zu euch. Ich wäre so stumm wie das da, wenn nicht eine Stimme hindurch sprechen würde. Da muss etwas... dieses [Mikrophon - Verf.] ist stumm, wenn nicht etwas hindurch redet. Und so ist jeder Mensch stumm, wenn es zu diesen Dingen kommt, es sei denn, Gott spreche durch ihn.
E-70 Betet ihr nun, und wir wollen sehen, ob diese Dinge, die ich gesagt habe, die Wahrheit sind. Möge Gott helfen, dass es so sein wird. Ich sage nicht, dass Er es tun wird. Ich vertraue darauf, dass Er es tun wird. Bis jetzt hat er mich nie im Stich gelassen. In all den Jahren, rund um die ganze Welt, in allen Arten von Ländern und vor Millionen von Menschen hat Er mich noch nie im Stich gelassen. Und ich bin sicher, genau so sicher, wie ich glaube, dass ich hier stehe, dass Er mich auch jetzt nicht im Stich lassen wird.
Ich bitte euch nun, dass ihr ehrfürchtig seid und einige Augenblicke sitzen bleibt. Wir werden nun die Hauptversammlung verlassen, und in einigen Augenblicken werden wir für die Kranken beten. Aber ich möchte, dass ihr, die Gläubigen, nicht auf mich schaut, sondern glaubt. Sagt einfach: „Ich glaube, dass das, was der Mann sagt, in der Bibel ist. Ich weiß nicht, ob wir in der Zeit schon so weit fortgeschritten sind, wie er sagt, doch wenn es so ist, dann wird es geschehen. Wenn seine Worte die Worte Gottes sind, dann können Gottes Worte nicht fehlgehen, seine Worte können fehlgehen.” Gott ist verpflichtet, hinter Seinem Wort zu stehen. Er wird es beweisen. Er wird es beweisen! „Wer an mich glaubt...” Er hat bewiesen, dass dies der letzte Tag ist. Er hat bewiesen, was geschehen wird. Er hat bewiesen, dass dies geschehen muss.
E-71 Und denkt daran, dass Abraham und seine Gruppe nie mehr ein anderes Zeichen von Gott empfingen, bis der verheißene Sohn kam. Wieviele wissen, dass das stimmt? Dieses Zeichen des Erkennens [Unterscheidung - Verf.] - und der königliche Same Abrahams - Hört mich, das will ich euch sagen; SO SPRICHT DER HERR: Ihr empfangt nun euer letztes Zeichen! Das ist in Übereinstimmung mit der Schrift und der Offenbarung Gottes, die in meinem Herzen ist, die dafür sprechen, dass das wahr ist. Und ich vertraue darauf, dass ihr glaubt, dass es die Wahrheit ist.
Ihr glaubt nun. Glaubt einfach alle. Sagt einfach: „Herr Jesus, laß mich Dich berühren. Ich habe eine Not in meinem Herzen, und ich weiß, dass Bruder Branham nichts über mich weiß. Ich kenne den Mann nicht einmal. Er kennt mich nicht, doch Du kennst mich. Und wenn er mir die Wahrheit gesagt hat, dann wird es geschehen.”
Ich bitte euch nun: Bewegt euch für einen Augenblick nicht mehr. Seid wirklich... seht, ihr seid ein Geist. Und ich nehme jeden Geist hier unter meine Kontrolle, im Namen von Jesus Christus, damit Sein Wort sich erfüllt. Seid einfach ehrfürchtig. Betet! Schaut zu Ihm! Sagt: „Herr, ich glaube es. Hilf Du meinem Unglauben.”
Wir wollen beginnen. Ich muss mich auf einen gewissen Teil von diesem Gebäude konzentrieren, denn ihr seid so viele, und jeder von euch ist ein Geist.
E-72 Ich kann nicht... Du sagst: „Wie steht es mit mir?” Ich könnte es euch nicht sagen. Das kommt souverän, alle Werke Gottes sind souverän. Es werden viele Menschen geheilt werden, die heute Abend über diese Plattform kommen. Wahrscheinlich werden auch viel nicht geheilt. Es liegt alles an der Souveränität Gottes. Wer will Ihm sagen, was Er tun soll? Nicht einer. Er arbeitet aufgrund Seines eigenen Willens, Seines eigenen Planes.
Doch ihr müßt einfach glauben, seid demütig und werdet nicht nervös. Richtet eure Aufmerksamkeit auf Gott und sagt: „Herr, mein Gott, ich glaube es. Ich möchte Dein Kleid berühren, ich benötige dies und das. Ich weiß, dass der Bruder mich und meine Not nicht kennt, doch er hat uns von den Dingen erzählt, die Du getan hast, und er sagt, dass du heute hier derselbe bist.”
Das schließt euch nicht aus, euch Brüder hier auf der Plattform, keinen von euch. Ich bitte auch euch, meine Brüder, als Mitarbeiter des Evangeliums Christi, ich rede mit euch so aufrichtig, wie ich nur kann, als ein sterbender Mann mit euch, seht, der diese Welt verläßt. Wir müssen einmal hier gehen, und ich muss mich am Tag des Gerichtes verantworten für das, was ich sage. Darüber bin ich mir bewußt, sehr bewußt. Es ist über der Dame, die mit dem Taschentuch dort sitzt. Sie betet für einen Angehörigen. So ist es, meine Dame. [Die Frau sagt: „Das stimmt, Bruder Branham.” - Verf.] Dieser Angehörige... glaubst du, dass ich Sein Prophet bin, oder... verzeiht mir... Sein Diener. [“Ganz gewiß.” - Verf.] Das glaubst du also. Gut. Nun, wenn Gott mir offenbaren kann, was nicht in Ordnung ist, wirst du es als von Gott kommend annehmen, genauso, wie die Frau, die damals Sein Kleid berührte? Du weißt, dass du etwa sechs bis neun Meter oder mehr von mir entfernt bist und dass du mich nie berührt hast. Doch du hast etwas berührt, du weißt, dass du in Kontakt mit etwas gekommen bist, mit jemandem. Und um was es geht - es ist für eine Frau, sie ist deine Tochter. Das ist richtig. Glaubst du, dass sie gesund werden wird? Sie ist drogensüchtig.[Die Frau ruft: „Das stimmt.” - Verf.] Genau so ist es. Ich sehe, wie sie schwimmt, sie ist betrunken.
Möchtest du nun das Taschentuch, das du in der Hand hast, auf sie legen, und zweifle nicht. Ich glaube, dass Gott sie befreien wird. Wirst du es mit mir glauben? Amen.
Nun, ich kenne die Frau nicht, doch Gott kennt sie. Glaubt ihr nun von ganzem Herzen?
E-74 Der Mann mit dem gestreiften Hemd, der mit einem Bruchleiden dort sitzt - glaubst du, dass Gott dich heilen wird, dass du gesund wirst? Glaubst du, dass Er es tun wird? Ich habe den Mann noch nie in meinem Leben gesehen. Du hast keine Gebetskarte, nicht wahr, mein Herr? Du hast keine? Du brauchst keine, wenn du glauben kannst.
Hier sitzt eine Frau, die versucht, über die Frau hinwegzuschauen, die zu ihrer Rechten sitzt. Sie ist mir nicht bekannt, doch sie ist sehr nervös. Ich kenne sie nicht. Ich habe sie in meinem Leben noch nie gesehen. Aber Gott kennt sie, und sie erkennt gerade jetzt, dass sie mit etwas in Kontakt gekommen ist. Du hast dort aus einem gewissen Grunde gebetet, und der Grund ist der, dass du nicht mehr länger als diesen Abend hier sein kannst. Du mußt die Versammlungen verlassen. Du planst, Morgen nach Hause zu gehen. Du bist nicht von hier, und du bist auch nicht von Kalifornien. Von hier aus gehst du nach Osten. Du gehst durch die Luft, du planst, mit dem Flugzeug zu gehen. Du bist von Oklahoma. Das stimmt. Du bist in einem sterbenden Zustande. Du bist gekommen, damit für dich gebetet wird. Du hast keine Gebetskarte. Doch du hast geglaubt, dass du geheilt werden würdest, wenn du nur hierher gelangen könntest. So ist es.
Du hast Krebs. Der Krebs ist in den Knochen. Glaubst du, dass du jetzt geheilt wirst? Glaubst du, dass du jetzt mit Ihm in Kontakt bist, meine Schwester? Vielleicht wird mir Gott sagen, wer du bist. Würde es dir helfen? Wenn dem so ist, dann erhebe deine Hand. Wenn du glaubst, dass Gott - und es dir helfen würde. Nun gut, Frau Steel, du kannst nach Oklahoma zurückkehren. Ich kenne die Frau nicht, ich habe sie noch nie gesehen.
E-75 Hier sitzt eine Frau, direkt hinter ihr. Sie hat ein Venenleiden und sie hat auch einen Sohn, der Alkoholiker ist. Sie betet für ihn. Wenn sie glaubt, kann sie geheilt werden. Frau Mason, hm, wenn du von ganzem Herzen glaubst und wenn du glaubst, dass Jesus Christus dir die Heilung gewährt - glaubst du? Gut, dann lege deine Hand auf die Dame, die neben dir sitzt. Sie betet für ihren Mann, der nicht gerettet ist. Gott wird die Heilung gewähren.
Laßt uns beten. Teurer Gott, ich bete, dass du ihr diese Segnung gewährst. Herr, gib dieser Frau den Wunsch ihres Herzens, Ihr Glaube ist Dir so nahe, sie hat Dich berührt. Und ich bete Vater, dass Du ihr helfen wirst, in Jesu Namen. Amen. Glaube nun von ganzem Herzen, dass du es empfangen wirst. Wirst du das tun? Gott segne dich.

E-76 Da scheint eine Frau vor mir zu sein, die sehr schwer ist. Dort sitzt sie. Glaubst du, dass ich Gottes Diener bin? Glaubst du, dass ich Gottes Diener bin? Du glaubst. Gut. Ich kenne dich nicht. Dein Problem sind deine Drüsen. Du hast Übergewicht. Du bist bei einem Arzt gewesen. Er sagte, dass er nichts tun könne. Doch das war ein irdischer Doktor. Du...du hattest einfach viele Sorgen. Du hast deinen Mann verloren. Du bist nicht von hier, du bist eigentlich von Arkansas. Du suchst auch Arbeit und kannst keine finden. Du hattest Angst, dass du nicht aufgerufen würdest. Doch nun hat dein Glaube Gott berührt, meine Schwester. Gehe und glaube. Gott gibt dir eine Arbeit, er gibt dir das Verlangen deines Herzens.
Gott beweist, dass Sein Wort die Wahrheit ist. Glaubt ihr nicht, dass das so ist? Ich möchte nun, dass ihr wieder mit mir betet.
E-77 Vater, Gott, Du bist derselbe Gott, Der damals bewies - als Du sagtest: „Das Mädchen ist nicht tot, sie schläft nur.” Und dann mußtest Du es beweisen. Du hast nun verheißen, dass sich, unmittelbar vor dem Kommen der Endzeit, der Menschensohn wieder in derselben Weise offenbaren werde, wie Er es bei Sodom tat. Du hast es versprochen, Herr. Du bist nun auf die Erde gekommen in der Gestalt des Heiligen Geistes und bist heute Abend unter uns gekommen, zu uns gläubigen Menschen, und Du hast es bewiesen. Du hast Dein Wort bewiesen, so wie Du es damals, an jenem Tage, getan hast.
Herr, wir benötigen keine Beweise mehr. Du bist nun unter uns. Wir lieben Dich. Und wir realisieren, dass dies, aufgrund der Schrift, das letzte Zeichen ist, unmittelbar vor Deinem Kommen. Und alle Schattenbilder und Typen gehen nie fehl. Sie müssen positiv sein. Und so beten wir nun Vater, während Deine Kinder kommen, damit für sie gebetet wird, dass jedes geheilt werden wird. Möge am Ende dieser Heilungsversammlung kein kranker Mensch unter uns zurückbleiben.
O, teurer Gott, möchtest Du gerade jetzt Deine Salbung so gnädig über deine Leute kommen lassen, dass alle geheilt werden. Und wenn da einige hier sind, die noch nicht Deine Kinder sind... auf der Grundlage dieser Dinge, dass sie das Wort gehört haben, und sie haben gesehen, wie die Sache getan wurde, es beweist auf den Buchstaben genau, wer Du bist und was Du bist - dass Du hier bist. Und Herr, würdest Du eine Lüge segnen? Nun, gewiß nicht, Herr. Doch Du hast versprochen, Dein Wort zu segnen und dass es nicht leer zurückkommen werde. Es würde das ausrichten, wozu es gesandt wurde. Dies hast Du nun getan heute Abend, ohne einen Schatten des Zweifels.
E-78 Während wir nun unsere Häupter gebeugt halten... sind Menschen da, die vorher noch nie geglaubt haben, die nun ihre Hände erheben möchten? Während ihr die Häupter gebeugt habt könnt ihr einfach eure Hand erheben, aufstehen und sagen: „Ich glaube nun von ganzem Herzen und ich möchte Jesus Christus gerade jetzt annehmen.” Möchtet ihr das tun? Jedermann, der hier ist, alle Leute, die hier sind und Jesus Christus noch nicht angenommen haben, die es aber jetzt tun möchten. Ich will euch nicht sagen... ihr geht in die Gemeinde, die ihr erwählt, doch ich bitte euch, Jesus Christus anzunehmen während ihr... ihr werdet Ihm wahrscheinlich niemals näher sein, bis ihr Ihn als Person seht, wenn Er in Seinem sichtbaren Leib vom Himmel kommt. Möchtet ihr Ihn nun annehmen, wenn ihr es nicht schon getan habt?
Aufgrund der Tatsache, dass niemand steht hier, glaube ich, dass ihr alle gesunde, vernünftige Leute seid und realisiert, was ihr tut. Wenn ihr nun unter dieser Sache sitzen bleibt, dann denkt daran: „Wenn ihr euch um meinetwillen vor den Menschen schämt, dann werde ich mich eurer schämen vor meinem Vater.” [Mark. 8, 38. - Verf.] Vielleicht ist jemand aufgestanden? Ja, hinten in der Zuhörerschaft.
Teurer Gott, vielleicht sehe ich jene nicht, die stehen. Sie möchten Dich annehmen. Sie realisieren, dass diese Sache noch nie getan wurde, erst in dieser Zeit. Und nun bestätigst Du es und bringst den Beweis, dass es so ist. Ich bete Vater, dass in ihren Herzen, die diesmal eigenartig bewegt wurden... wie können wir wissen, ob dies die letzte Person ist, die hereingekommen ist? Dies mag das Ende für Los Angeles sein. Es könnte die letzte Seele sein, die in das Königreich hineingeboren wurde. Wir wissen nicht, wann diese Zeit kommt. Wenn es soweit ist, dann wird die Türe geschlossen werden. Der Leib wird dann vollständig sein.
Es wird kein mißgeborener Leib oder eine mißgeborene Braut sein. Er wird genau soviele Glieder haben wie die Anzahl der Namen, die vor Grundlegung der Welt ins Lebensbuch des Lammes gebracht wurden, für welche Jesus kam, um sie zu nehmen - wie Adam - er ging gerade hinaus, um seine Frau zu retten. Ich bete nun mein Gott, dass Du sie nun in Deinem Königreich empfängst. Sie sind in Deinen Händen. Befasse Dich mit ihnen. Ich bete in Jesu Namen, Amen.
E-79 Gott segne alle die aufgestanden sind. Ich wußte nicht, dass einige von euch standen. Einige standen im Hintergrund und andere im Balkon. Ich möchte nun, das ihr etwas für mich tut. Bitte, versteht mich. Trefft euch mit irgendeinem Prediger und sprecht nach der Versammlung mit ihm darüber. Werdet ihr das tun? Laßt es nicht fehlgehen. Wenn ihr noch nicht getauft worden seid in christlicher Taufe, dann tut das als Nächstes. Bleibt dann mit erhobenen Händen, bis ihr den Heiligen Geist empfangt.
Nun - viele Leute haben Gebetskarten. Wir werden euch bitten, aufzustehen und heraufzukommen. Und ich nehme an, das sie dann hier vorbeigehen... oder muss ich kommen... „Nein”. Ich bin nicht imstande... von dieser Seite dort drüben dort hinüberzugehen, für die Menschen, die Gebetskarten haben. Wenn jemand von euch gehen muss... ich habe mich verspätet. Es tut mir leid. Ich versuche es Morgen Abend ein bißchen besser zu machen. Die Uhr an der Wand zeigt zehn nach zehn.
Vielen Dank euch allen für die Aufmerksamkeit heute Abend. Möge der Gott des Himmels euch segnen. Wenn ihr bleiben möchtet, um der Gebetsreihe zuzusehen, dann seid ihr immer willkommen. E-80 Jene mit den Gebetskarten mögen nun aufstehen für das Gebet, Wie allgemein beten wir für Menschen. Nun, ihr, die ihr dasteht mit den Gebetskarten, gibt es irgendeinen Zweifel in eurem Leben, Verzeihung - ist da irgendeine Sünde in eurem Leben, die ihr noch nicht bekannt habt? Wenn dem so ist, dann möchte ich euch folgendes sagen: Kommt nicht in die Gebetsreihe mit nicht bekannter Sünde in eurem Herzen. Denn ihr müßt... dies ist das Brot der Kinder. Und wenn ihr keine Christen seid, dann übergebt euer Leben Christus in der Gebetsreihe und kommt dann erst. Es ist für den Gläubigen. Werdet ihr das tun? Nehmt Ihn zuerst als euren Retter an und kommt dann erst über die Plattform um für euch beten zu lassen.
E-81 Ich werde nun für jeden Einzelnen beten, ich lasse sie nicht einfach vorübergehen, wie wenn es nur Routine wäre. Wir sind nun in einer Gemeinde. Ich glaube, Schwester Wyatt hat uns die Erlaubnis gegeben, dass wir bleiben und beten können. [Ein Mann sagt: „Ja, wenn ihr wollt, die ganze Nacht.” - Verf.] Wir können so lange bleiben, wie wir möchten. Ich danke Schwester Wyatt und der Leitung hier, dass sie und das erlauben. Gott segne sie. Ihr galanter Ehemann stand jeweils auf dieser Plattform und betete für die Kranken, bis zu seinem Tod, so weit ich weiß. Er war ein echter Soldat des Kreuzes. Nun versuche ich weiterzumachen und tue dasselbe. Segne diese Menschen.
Nun bitte ich euch, das jeder von euch hier vorbeikommt. Ihr braucht nichts zu bekennen Ihr müßt nicht sagen, wenn etwas verkehrt ist mit euch. Kommt einfach und laßt mich für euch beten und glaubt.
Glaubt ihr, dass Gott mich sandte, um dies zu tun? Erhebt eure Hand. Denkt an das, was der Engel des Herrn sagte: „Wenn du die Menschen dazu bringst, dass sie dir glauben, und du aufrichtig bist, wenn du betest, dann kann nichts deinem Gebet widerstehen.” und ihr wißt, dass das die Wahrheit ist. Es ist wieder und wieder bewiesen worden.
E-82 Ich möchte nun fragen, ob unsere Schwester Rose „Glaube nur” spielen könnte, wenn sie will, oder „der große Arzt ist uns so nah” oder so etwas. Ich möchte, dass ihr nun alle gemeinsam mit mir, wenn ihr möchtet, auch die Menschen, die nicht in der Gebetsreihe sind - wollt ihr für diese Menschen beten? Gut, dann versprecht es ihnen, indem ihr eure Hand erhebt. Ich werde beten. Wir alle werden beten. Du sagtest: „Diese Zeichen werden denen folgen die da glauben, wenn sie ihre Hände auf die Kranken legen” - du sagtest: - „dann werden sie genesen.”
Darf ich hier nur einen Augenblick innehalten, um etwas zu sagen. Nur damit die Menschen einen Augenblick ruhen können. Einst sagte ein Kritiker zu mir: „So ist es nicht.” Doch seht ihr. Er sagte: „Diese Zeichen werden folgen.”
Ihr habt meine Botschaft über „die Gerichtsverhandlung”gehört, wie sie Jesus vor Gericht brachten. Seht, Er sagte zu Noah, dass es regnen werde. Es regnete nicht während 120 Jahren, doch dann regnete es trotzdem. Er sagte Abraham, er werde durch Sarah einen Sohn haben. Das geschah fünfundzwanzig Jahre später. Er sagte nie wann. Er sagte, dass sie einen Sohn haben würden. Fünfundzwanzig Jahre später geschah es. Seht ihr? Er sagte nicht wann. Er sagte: „Das Gebet des Glaubens wird die Kranken retten.” Gott werde sie aufstehen lassen. „Wenn sie ihre Hände auf die Kranken legen, dann werden sie genesen”. Hat Er das gesagt? Er sagte nicht, dass sie dann sofort aufspringen würden. Er sagte: „Sie werden genesen.” Seht ihr? Dies ist Sein Versprechen, und so glauben wir es.
E-91 Komm Schwester, glaubst du, dass das wahr ist? [“Ja, das glaube ich.” - Verf.] Dann gibt es keine Möglichkeit, die dich von der Heilung abhalten kann. Ich lege meine Hände auf die Schwester, im Namen von Jesus Christus - für ihre Heilung. Amen.

Ich möchte, dass jene, für die gebetet wurde, mir einen Gefallen tun. Ich möchte, dass ihr berichtet was mit euch geschah, bevor diese Versammlungen vorüber sind. Damit die Versammlung und die andern Menschen wirklich sehen können was da geschieht. Vielleicht Morgen oder am nächsten Tag oder so, schaut einfach, was geschieht.
Die Briefe, die ich bekomme haben gezeigt... das ist so anders, als wenn man sie einfach ihren eigenen Glauben bekennen läßt, denn Jesus sagte: „Sie legten die Hände auf sie.” Sie legen ihnen die Hände auf und sie werden genesen. Erfaßt nun, was Er sagte. Er sagte nicht, dass sie auf und ab hüpfen und hin und her laufen würden. Sie könnten es tun, doch Er sagte: „Sie werden genesen.” Hat Er das gesagt? Das hat Er gesagt. Das glaube ich, und Er ist nun hier. Derjenige, der diese Worte sprach ist hier, um es geschehen zu lassen.

Teurer Gott, ich bete, dass Du meine Schwester heilst, im Namen von Jesus Christus. Amen. [Aufnahme auf Band unterbrochen. - Verf.] ...um mir zu helfen, im Gebet für diese Menschen.
E-94 Wir haben nun einige Taschentücher hier, und ähnliches, damit darüber gebetet wird. Ich möchte, dass ihr weiterhin mit mir betet. Nun, diese kleinen Stücke... ich weiß, dass das für die Menschen sehr eigenartig klingt, wenn man über so etwas Kleinem betet. Doch wenn ihr nur einmal in mein Büro kommen könntet, um es zu sehen. Wenn wir die Zeugnisse während all dieser Jahre aufbewahrt hätten, ich glaube, man könnte sie auf diesem Podium hier nicht stapeln, die Zeugnisse von denen, die geheilt wurden, durch nichts anderes, als durch das Senden von Gebetstüchern, wie diese hier. Es sind Millionen um und um die Welt. Nun, ihr wißt, was es ist. (...jemand soll das Taschentuch dort hinlegen. Du wirst doch dein Taschentuch wiedererkennen Bruder?) Gut.
Ich habe gesehen, wie verkrüppelte Kinder geheilt wurden. Ihr seht, was es ist. Es ist einfach ein Berührungspunkt, wie Oral Roberts zu sagen pflegte. Es ist einfach ein Berührungspunkt. Wir beten... nun wir tun das nicht von uns aus, wir tun es, weil es uns durch die Bibel aufgetragen wurde. Wir alle wissen, dass das wahr ist.
Nun, es gibt viele Menschen, welche die Taschentücher salben und so weiter. Gut, wir glauben, das ist schon in Ordnung, gewiß, doch wenn wir nur... die Bibel spricht nicht davon, dass sie Taschentücher salbten. Doch sie nahmen vom Leibe des Paulus „Taschentücher”. Seht ihr nun, worüber ich sprach?
Worüber ich gesprochen habe.... Nun, was sie sahen, das war die lebendigmachende Kraft, die in Paulus war, von dem sie wußten, dass er Gottes Diener war. Sie wußten, dass Gott in ihm war. Sie wußten, dass alles, was er berührte, gesegnet war. Wieviele verstehen das? Sagt „Amen”.
E-95 Wißt ihr, ich glaube, dass Paulus wirklich in der Schrift war, mit dem, was er tat. Denkt ihr nicht auch? Möchtet ihr mir sagen, woher er den Gedanken bekam, um es zu tun? [Jemand sag: „Von Elisa.” - Verf.] Von Elisa, das ist richtig.
Seht, Elisa sagte: „Geh, nimm diesen Stab und lege ihn auf das Kind.” Und der Prophet gab den Stab, weil er wußte, dass alles, was er berührt hatte, gesegnet war. Er kannte seine Stellung. Wenn er nur die Frau dahingebracht hätte, dasselbe zu glauben. Die Bibel sagte eigentlich nicht, dass sie für die Kranken beten sollen, es heißt: „Sie sollen ihre Hände auf die Kranken legen.”
E-96 Überlegt euch das doch. Die Menschen hatten im Apostel Petrus die Gegenwart Gottes manifestiert gesehen - in solch einer Weise, dass sie die Menschen sogar in seinen Schatten legten und sie wurden geheilt. Wieviele wissen, dass dies gemäß der Schrift ist? Das ist genauso schriftgemäß, wie Joh. 3:16. Seht, es ist alles das Wort Gottes.
Nun, die Menschen... ihr wißt doch, dass nicht der Schatten dieses Mannes die Menschen heilte. Doch seht, wenn doch die Kraft Gottes auf diesem Propheten lag, viele Jahre nachdem er gestorben war, so dass man einen toten Mann auf seinen Leib, auf seine Knochen geworfen wurde. Der Leib war nicht einmal mehr dort, die Knochen befanden sich dort, und die Gegenwart Gottes lag auf diesen Knochen, so dass der tote Mann zum Leben kam.
E-97 Wißt ihr nicht, dass derselbe Gott, der all diese Dinge tat heute Abend direkt hier ist?
Was mich betrifft, so denke ich, dass wir die glücklichsten Menschen auf der ganzen Welt sein sollten. Überlegt euch nur... ich hoffe nur, dass ich meiner Zuhörerschaft nicht den Eindruck gegeben habe, dass es etwas ist, dass ich von mir aus tue. Das solltet ihr besser wissen. Seht, ich bin euer Bruder, ich bin einfach euer Bruder.
Doch ich weiß... und das weiß ich, dass Gott hier ist. Und ich weiß, dass Er uns etwas gegeben hat, dass wir nicht erklären können, nur durch das Wort Gottes. Es stellt den Anspruch, das dieses in dieser Zeit hier sein sollte. Dies gibt uns auch die Bestätigung, zu wissen, dass wir in den letzten Tagen leben. Es gibt uns die Bestätigung, zu wissen, dass diese Menschen, diese Auserwählten, Herausgerufenen. Vorherbestimmten... Nun, das ist ein starkes Wort - vorherbestimmt. Doch wir alle wissen, dass es die Wahrheit ist. Wir wissen absolut, dass der unendliche Gott alle Dinge durch Vorherwissen vorherbestimmt hat, vor Grundlegung der Welt. Dort wurde sogar das Lamm geschlachtet, und jeder Name, der je im Buch sein sollte, wurde in das Buch getan, bevor das Buch je geschrieben wurde. Wieviele wissen, dass das stimmt?
Und Jesus kam, um jene zu erlösen, die im Buche waren. Und die Bibel... das Lamm kam hinter dem Vorhang hervor, nahm das Buch und öffnete die Siegel, mit denen es versiegelt war. Denn Er kam, um all die zu beanspruchen, die Er erlöst hatte. Er ist jetzt der Fürsprecher. Der Fürsprecher, der Fürsprache einlegt, für alle die Er erlöst hat. All jene, deren Namen im Lebensbuch des Lammes geschrieben waren, sind erlöst.
E-98 Wie die rauhe kleine Aussage, die ich kürzlich machte... - ich warte, bis ihr all die Taschentücher gebracht habe, ich versuche nicht, noch einmal zu predigen - Doch ich sagte... da machte ich eine kleine Aussage, und ich hoffe nicht, dass dies lästerlich klingt. Doch es ist wie beim Bauern, bei dem die Henne ein Gelege hatte, das nicht genügend Eier hatte. So holte er ein Adlerei und legte es unter die Henne. Und sie brütete ein Adlerei aus. Und dieser war ein sehr eigenartiger Bursche unter all den Hühnern, denn so etwas hatten sie noch nie gesehen. Doch er hatte nie etwas anderes als die Henne gesehen. Er hatte nur eine Stimme gehört, die nicht wie seine Stimme klang. Auch war er nicht imstande, seine Stimme so ertönen zu lassen, wie die der Henne oder die der Hühner. Ihre Speise schätzte er nicht, die sie auf dem Hof aßen. Er war einfach anders, doch er wußte nicht, worin der Unterschied bestand.
Doch da war die Adlermutter, die sich eines Tages erinnerte, dass sie so und soviele Eier gelegt hatte. Und eines dieser Eier, das ihr Sohn werden sollte, fehlte. Und so begann sie ihn zu suchen. Und sie fand ihn - im Hühnerhof. Und sie schrie! Und als sie schrie, da erkannte der kleine Adler die Stimme seiner Mutter. So wie Jesus sagte: „Meine Schafe kennen Meine Stimme.”
E-99 Ich denke an gestern Abend, als ich diese Gruppe von Baptisten, Presbyterianern und was auch sonst noch sah - sie mögen unter eine Henne hervorgekommen sein, - ha, entschuldigt mich, Brüder, aber... [Gelächter. - Verf.] aber die Mutter wußte, dass sie dort irgendwo ihren Liebling hatte, ha. So standen die Männer dort und sie beanstandeten das Futter nicht, dass sie von der Mutter Henne bekommen hatten und so weiter, doch nun sind sie Adler, seht ihr, sie fliegen, um ihre Nahrung zu finden.
Und ich denke, dass die Gemeinde zu etwas geworden ist, wie ich es vor kurzem sah, als ich von Phoenix nach Tucson kam. Ich sah etwas Eigenartiges, und es brach mein Herz, als ich sah, was geschehen ist. Wie der Falke, der früher durch die Lüfte flog - er ist ein Bruder des Adlers - ein Typ auf die Gemeinde und Jehova ist der Adler. Er nannte Seine Propheten Adler. Er nannte Sich Selbst Jehova-Adler.
E-100 Doch dieser Falke hat seit langem sein Erkennungszeichen verloren, denn er segelt nicht mehr durch die Lüfte um seine Nahrung zu jagen, wie er es tun sollte. Sondern er sitzt auf den Telefondrähten und verhält sich wie ein Aasfresser. Er sucht tote Hasen, die von Autos getötet wurden. Er und der Aasgeier gehen dorthin und essen gemeinsam. Er hüpft wie ein Geier, anstatt so zu gehen, wie er gehen sollte. Er hat sein Erkennungszeichen verloren.
Und ich sage dies mit aller Liebe und mit göttlichem Respekt: Die Gemeinde hat seid langem ihr Erkennungszeichen verloren, als eine Schwester zum Adler. Sie sitzt herum, anstatt im Wort zu graben um zu sehen, ob diese Dinge richtig sind. Sie wartet auf ein Bündel Sonntagsschul-Zeitschriften, die irgendwo von einer Gruppe von Intellektuellen zusammengestellt wurden [Applaus. - Verf.] - irgendein toter Hase, der irgendwo an einem ändern Ort getötet wurde. Sie hüpfen wie die Geier.
Gott helfe uns, damit wir von diesem wegfliegen. Diese Verheißungen sind wahr. Nicht das, was irgendjemand darüber sagt, sondern was Gott darüber sagt. Sie sind wahr. Ich bin so froh, dass ich mit Adlern in Gemeinschaft bin!
Laßt uns miteinander für unsere Kranken beten.
E-101 Geliebter himmlischer Vater, die Bibel lehrt uns, dass sie vom Leib des Paulus Taschentücher und Schürzen nahmen, und Dämonen verließen die Menschen, unreine Geister verließen sie. Nun Vater, stehe ich hier über diesen Taschentüchern, die jede Person repräsentieren, die hier sind. Wir zusammen sind der Leib von Christus. Wir beanspruchen durch Gnade und Liebe, dass wir hier sind, um Seine Braut repräsentieren, und wir glauben, dass wir mit Ihm verbunden sind in Seinem Königreich. Wir wissen, dass wir nicht Paulus sind, aber wir wissen, dass Du noch immer Jesus bist, und wir beten, dass Du den Glauben dieser Menschen ehrst.
Wenn sie damals in den Tagen von Paulus gelebt hätten, dann hätten sie dasselbe Evangelium gehört und dieselben Dinge gesehen. Darum sind es ebensolche Menschen und Du bist derselbe Gott. Und so bete ich, teurer Gott, dass Du ihren Glauben anerkennst, wie Du ihren Glauben in biblischen Tagen anerkannt hast. Und möge sie jede dämonische Macht, jede Krankheit und jedes Leiden verlassen, welches diese Menschen gebunden hat, die durch diese Taschentücher und Pakete hier repräsentiert sind. Möge sie jede üble Macht der Krankheit verlassen.
E-102 Einst wurde gesagt, dass Israel auf dem ihrem vorgeschriebenen Weg in ein verheißenes Land ging. Und direkt auf ihrem vorgeschriebenen Weg kam der Feind herein und drängte sie in eine Ecke. Und das Rote Meer trennte sie von ihrem vorgeschriebenen Weg auf ihrem Marsch. Und Gott schaute von Himmel herab durch die Feuersäule, und das Meer erschrak. Es rollte seine Wellen zurück, denn die Wellen Gottes lagen in der Tiefe des Meeres. Und sie machten einen Weg für Seine Kinder, die auf dem Weg des Gehorsams gingen.
Nun, Gott, wenn das Rote Meer erschrak und seine Wellen rückwärts rollte und seine Wasser zurückrollte und den Weg freigab für reisende Kinder, die im Gehorsam marschierten, so schau heute herab, geliebter Gott, durch das Blut Deines Sohnes, Jesus, der die Verheißung gab.
Und wenn diese Taschentücher auf die kranken Leiber der Menschen gelegt werden, mögen die Augen Gottes darauf schauen, möge dann die Krankheit, dieser Teufel erschrecken und sich hinwegmachen. Und mögen die Menschen in guter Gesundheit und Kraft auf ihrer Reise ins verheißene Land bleiben.
So wie Israel durch die Wüste ging; da war nicht eine schwache Person unter ihnen, auf der andern Seite. Möge es diesen Menschen gewährt werden, Vater, denn wir senden diese Taschentücher in Jesu Christi Namen. Amen.
E-103 Gott segne euch, jeden von euch, während ihr die Taschentücher bekommt.
Glaubt nun von ganzem Herzen. Glaubt ihr, dass Gott dieses hört? Seht, das möchte ich noch sagen: Zweifelt kein bißchen, seht, es mag sehr eigenartig scheinen - entschuldigt mich, für einen Augenblick - zweifelt kein bißchen, sondern glaubt nun, dass Gott das gibt, worum wir gebetet haben. Glaubt ihr, dass es Gott ist, der hier die Geheimnisse eurer Herzen kennt? Ihr wißt... ihr glaubt, dass es Gott ist? Klärt nun einfach eure Gedanken. Es kann nichts anderes sein. Seht ihr?
Was wäre nun, wenn es einmal zu einem großen Morgen kommen würde - dann wäre das Geschichte. Und wenn dann in den kommenden Jahren Menschen da wären, dann würden sie kommen und sagen: „Gut, wenn ich in diesen vergangen Tagen gelebt hätte, dann hätte ich das geschehen sehen, mein Junge, das wäre alles gewesen, was ich hätte wissen müssen. Ich hätte es damals sofort geglaubt.” Es ist dasselbe was ihr glaubt, wenn ihr damals dabeigewesen wäret. Doch denkt daran: Immer noch ist Er es! Es ist Sein Leben in dir. Gott segne euch.

E-3 And I wanted you to be sure to see that. It's the—the anchor that we have. We are not anchored by a church. We're anchored in Christ, you see. He is that only Way. He is the only place of safety, the only place that God ever put His Name. And God said He would meet the people in the place He chose to put His Name; not in any gate, but in the gate that He chose. And in that place He would meet the people, and there only. And we find out that God never put His Name anywhere but in His Son, Jesus Christ, as the son always takes the name of the father.
E-4 And now you say, "Well, what does that apply today? Each one says, 'I'm in Jesus.'"
E-5 He is the Word. That, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us." Again, it's also written in Revelation the 19th chapter, when we see Him Coming, the Bride and Groom, His vesture dipped in Blood, "His Name was called 'The Word of God.'" He is the Word of God.
E-6 And, that's, He is the quickening power. He is the Holy Spirit is that, the—the dynamics that comes into the mechanics, the Words, that make it live. And it all has to work together, or it just won't work. It's got to take the whole Bible, the whole Christ, the full Gospel.
E-7 I want to say, to this panel that I watched on television last night, knowing it was going to be on, and I watched it. I want to comment these brethren, the ones that was on that panel, such a masterly piece of answering questions! And I'm a very much of a critic, you know, anyhow, but there wasn't nothing to criticize there. It was absolutely genuine, and I could agree with that, one hundred percent. [Congregation applauds—Ed.] Thank you. Amen. Them answers was right to the point. I certainly did appreciate that. I only wish I had a film to show in my church at home. It was really nice.
E-8 And I'm so thankful to know that—that God has dealt out in the other realms, besides our own Pentecostal group, and are picking up men, those seed of God, that's been laying out there all these years, waiting for the Light to shine across them.
E-9 And it also gives us a warning, friends, to know that Jesus said, "When this sleeping virgin had begin to come in to buy Oil, that was when the Bridegroom was coming." So we can see by that, when we see the Episcopalian, Presbyterian, Methodist, Baptist, Lutheran, coming in to get the Oil, then that was the hour that the Bridegroom came. Let's remember that.
E-10 I never had Billy, my son, to say such to me as he did just a few moments ago. He said, "Daddy, I don't tell you what to do. I don't mean to impress you by anything, but," said, "daddy, whatever you do, put all your time for them sick people." He said, "I never seen so many sick people!" Said, "I gave out two hundred cards in just a moment or two." Said, "There is so many people sick!" He does very seldom ever tells me that.
E-11 And then I come tonight with some little notes wrote down here, and some comments upon the oncoming judgment, and knowing that we're sitting here tonight with the very wrath of God jerking beneath us, and soon she'll swipe it up. And knowing that the wrath of God is waiting; just at the moment it will be said, it will be over, for millions. And knowing that in my heart, and knowing it to be so! And then we see so many sick, pressing and pulling.
E-12 And I thought, "Tonight, most of them are Christians." And let me say to this, you children of God. Whatever you do, you let everything else go. You serve God, day and night, with all your heart. You, you can feel there is something wrong. You can tell it as you walk in the streets, you just… and wherever you go. You know, if you're spiritual; and I know you are.
E-13 And I was talking to a man, Brother Stromei. I don't know whether Tony is here, or not. He, he was… [A brother says, "Tony Salameh?"—Ed.] Tony Salameh, Salameh, Salameh? No. I got the wrong Tony. [A brother says something.] No, that's the wrong Tony. This is the Tony of—of—of Tucson. What is his name? [Someone else says, "Stromei."] Stromei! I know it's Salameh, Stromei, or some. I get all…
E-14 In his store, the other day, was a man came in, was very striking, he was saying something that brought back a memory to me, when I… last time I was in—in India.
E-15 Where, I think the Lord gave us the greatest crowd we ever had at one time, was in Bombay. We couldn't even find places nowhere to put them, tens of thousands and thousands of people.
E-16 And just before we got there, there was a newspaper translated. Well, it was, India is a bilingual country, it was—it was the English paper. And said, "Well, the earthquakes must be over, the birds are flying back to their home in their nests."
E-17 A few days before the earthquake come, that tore down the fences and things. The little birds find themselves shelters in the rocks, and build their nests; and in the afternoon or in midday, when the sun is real hot, all the animals stand around those rock walls, to get in the shade. And for two days, the birds stayed out in the trees, they wouldn't come to their nests; and two days, the animals, the sheep and cattle, they would not come around in the afternoon, or hang around those walls. They—they stayed out in the field and leaned against each other, for shade.
E-18 Then all at once, an earthquake, that just shook the walls and tore down the buildings. And, see, if those little birds had been in there, they'd have perished. If the cattle had been standing beneath it, and the sheep, they'd have perished. God warning nature!
E-19 A few days ago, down in Brother Tony's store, I was listening to a man there that said… When this earthquake taken place in Alaska, he was fishing down in what we call Stony Point, at Mexico. And he said, "The birds wouldn't feed, and the fish wouldn't feed. There was something wrong. And, all at once, the earthquake broke loose."
E-20 And the other day, when that one happened over in India, or wherever it was, he said he was fishing again. He thought, "Well, it's strange. Those fish feed about this time. There is not a roll in the water, nowhere. The water is just as quiet, perfect time for the fish to feed, but they didn't feed. And all the birds that's usually out there, the gulls, picking up these fish and things, was all walking around on the bank, huddling one against another. In a few moments, the sea moss from the bottom begin to come up like that, an earthquake had happened across the other side of the earth." See, them fish knowed there was something wrong, something was fixing to happen. Those birds knew the same.
E-21 Surely, if God gives a fish and a bird discernment, how much more should He give His—His children! We know that we're at the end time, and judgment is waiting, so let's be real reverent. Flee to God with all your heart! "O Capernaum, thou who art exalted into heaven, will be brought down into hell," and today she lays beneath the bed of the waters. Just remember, and pray.
E-22 Now, tonight, I want to read a place here in the Scripture, just for a few moments. We're going to pray for the sick. Billy said he give out a bunch of prayer cards. And he gave out some yesterday, and I never got to any of them last night. And I wondered, when the Holy Spirit came… It's just… You can't make It work. It's just like a little lever, you pull yourself into a gear. You're the one does that operating of the Holy Spirit, not me. You do that yourself. So I, last night, I noticed even in discernment, it never picked up with the people just right. They didn't seem to take to it. I have found it, here lately, it seems like, more or less, just as I was speaking, laying hands upon the sick, they know.
E-23 We should realize that in us has been given, we who believe Jesus Christ and been born of His Spirit and filled with that quickening power, that power that's in you. By laying on hands, on the others, like the disciples did and down through the age, It absolutely healed the sick, raised the dead, It showed visions, prophecies. And the very same Spirit that lived amongst the early apostles is living in the church today, working the very same things. And as quick as we can recognize that! See, no matter how much it's a working, you've got to recognize that and believe that. It won't do one bit of good, until you do believe it. But the moment you believe it, your troubles are ended. That's true.
E-24 Now let us turn in the Scripture. I was sitting out there, a few moments ago, jotted down a few more Scriptures, to change my text for the night. And I want to read some out of the Word of God, out of the Book of Saint Luke, the 8th chapter, beginning with the 40th verse. Listen now, I'm going to read extensive.
And it came to pass, that, when Jesus was returned, the people gladly received him: for they were all waiting for him.
E-25 Would not that be a fine attitude for the company tonight?
And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus' feet, and besought him that he would come into his house:
For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying. But as he went the people thronged him.
And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,
Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.
And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
… Jesus said, Somebody has touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.
And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and fell down before him, and declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.
And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith has made thee whole; go in peace.
And while he… spake, there certain one came from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master.
But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.
And when he was come into the house, he suffered no man to go in, save Peter,… James, and John, and the father and the mother of the maiden.
And all wept,… bewailed her: and he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but asleep.
And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead.
But he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called the maid, saying, Maid, arise.
And her spirit came again, and she rose straightway: and he commanded to give her meat.
And her parents was astonished: but he charged them that they should tell no man what was done.
E-26 Now let us pray. Dear Heavenly Father, as we read this Word, we know that that is truth. This happened. It's not some mythical story that we would read out of maybe a newspaper or some book of fiction, but this come from the Book that we know to be the Word of God. We believe it happened. We believe that this Jesus that did this notable thing, two instances here, of the woman with the blood issue, and the dead child, we believe that He is God's Son, that God raised Him up from the dead and has presented Him to us, tonight, in the person of the Holy Ghost.
E-27 And we believe that He is here with us tonight. And believing that He is the same yesterday, today, and forever, His compassions reach out to the people. And as the people reach for Him, the same results that was given in that day will be given this day. Grant it again, Father, that we might have a fresh anointing. As Brother Shakarian asked so sincerely, a while ago, and asked the audience to believe, we are asking again in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
E-28 I want to speak just for a few moments, and that will be just a few moments, 'cause I want to get them people with the prayer cards up here and pray for them. And omitting any other thing but just praying for the sick. But before we pray for the sick, we've got to get the people in that attitude. It's the attitude that always brings the results. It's the attitude that you take towards God.
E-29 Here is a woman touched His garment, she was healed, with a blood issue. A soldier spit in His face and put a crown of thorns on His head, and felt no virtue.
E-30 It's your approach. The attitude is what it takes. And that's what it is tonight, dear friend, it takes the attitude. We are, and believe that we are, in the Presence of Jesus Christ, but it's your attitude that brings the results. The mechanics is here, and so is the dynamics. If you can just get started, God will do the rest.
E-31 Now, this subject that I want to speak on, for a few moments, is: Proving His Word. Now that's a great thing, to think of that: Proving His Word.
E-32 Now God is just as able to prove His Word, tonight, as He ever did prove It. And the Bible also said, "Prove all things. Hold fast to that what's good."
E-33 Now you've heard, no doubt, heard the old proverb, "Prove it, I'll believe it." But that doesn't hold true. Many times I seen many things proved, that was absolutely scientificially even proved, and yet people didn't believe it anyhow.
E-34 I was talking with a man, here not long ago. We was talking about Divine healing. He said, "I wouldn't believe it. I don't care what would happen, how much proof you could show of it, I still don't believe it." Well, certainly, no matter what you'd ever do for that man, he—he's lost. He cannot believe. There is nothing in him, to believe.
E-35 I just had a—a little experience here, about a week ago, as you all know that I—I hunt. And when I come back from my meeting, I been lion hunting. And after I moved into Arizona, it's good, I like to hunt big game, and I like to get out amongst nature and watch it.
E-36 Now, I'm not a killer. I just hunt. So, I—I don't like to destroy game, I—I don't think it's right. I think it's just as much sin to kill game, when you're not using it and going to use it for a purpose, as it would be to kill anything else. I believe it's wrong. We shouldn't do that. God gave it to us for food and for purposes, and we should not destroy it. But now what the law says you can take, all right. Just don't waste it.
E-37 And I down there, the season is out for everything else. Lions kill a lot of cattle. And I know a lot of ranchers up in the country. And every time they get a kill, why, they call me, when a lion gets amongst sheep. A certain friend of mine, the other night, lost about thirty-five hundred dollars, in one night, by one lion killing just lambs. He got in, and, course, the rest of the lions are going to have to pay for his sin. And so I got the lion, and so it was a great big lion, and nine-foot long, and weighed close two-something, so it was—it was a good big lion.
E-38 And then I went from the country of Arizona, up into Utah, to hunt. And so I was told that there was people up there, that a man that I was going to hunt with, was a government trapper, "And, for goodness sakes, don't mention anything about religion, around him." Said, "He was really a rough fellow."
E-39 And I said, well, I told the man I was going with, I said, "I won't mention it."
E-40 He said, "Don't say 'preacher.' If you do, you'll never get to go hunting. He wouldn't take you." Said, "I hunted with him three days, and slept with him every night, eat with him every day, and he never even said, 'Good morning. How do you do? You want something to eat? Wash the dishes.' Nothing!" Said, "Now just don't say nothing about it."
E-41 I said, "I won't say a word." So I didn't tell him I wouldn't pray, but I just kept on tell him that I'm… And I pray.
E-42 So when we got up there, the man was a very hard character, and I didn't think he believed anything. And he had just lost a baby a few nights before that, a stillborn baby. So, we went hunting. And on the second day, the man I was hunting with had told him, said I get to hunt everywhere around the country. So when the other hunter, was with me, had left, we were way in top of peaks; where we just run a lion, till we got him into the rocks, and he had got away. And so we were sitting there waiting for the dog to return. And this man said to me, he said, "The other hunter, your friend, tells me that you get to hunt everywhere. You got plenty of money?" Said, "I guess it's none of my business."
E-43 And I said, "No," I said, "it isn't plenty of money." I said, "I—I'm sponsored."
E-44 And he said, "Oh, I see." He said, "Well, I guess it's none of my business again, but," said, "are you with a firm that sponsors you?"
E-45 He was pulling it right out of me. I promised I wouldn't, see. So I said, yeah, I said, "No, sir. I'm a preacher, a missionary."
He said, "A what?"
E-46 I said, "Missionary." And he just stood and looked at me for a few minutes.
E-47 I said, "Do you have any hope for Life hereafter? What is your hope?"
He said, "I'm a Jack Mormon."
And I said, "A what?"
He said, "A Jack Mormon."
I said, "What kind is that?"
E-48 Said, "The one that swears and drinks coffee, and smokes cigarettes."
I said, "Well, an honest confession is good for the soul."
E-49 And then he said—he said, "I want to ask you something." He said, "I am told that the Mormon church is the only true church there is." He said, "Do you believe that?"
E-50 I said, "When it comes to church, I guess it's as good as any of them. I only know one Truth, and that's Jesus Christ." I said, "I know He is True."
E-51 "Well," he said, "I had a baby born the other night, stillborn." He said, "I am told that this baby, because it was stillborn, God never did breathe the breath of life into it, that I'll never see it again." He said, "What do you think about that?"
E-52 "Well," I said, "You won't as a Jack Mormon, you sure won't. That's one thing sure, you won't see it as long as you stay a Jack Mormon." And he said… Well, he had been pushing me, so I push him back a little bit, you see. We had—had time to push back. So he said—he said… I said, "What's the matter?"
He said, "Oh, I don't know." And he said, "Well, what do you think?"
I said, "I am acquainted with many fine…"
E-53 I didn't know he was a Mormon. And I was a very… I know, being it in Utah, it probably was, but I… 'cause most the people up there are Mormon, around Salt Lake City. This wasn't Salt Lake City, however. So I thought, "Well, I've had some fine Mormon friends, been in the prayer lines, fine people."
E-54 And I said, "I have met some very fine man who are—are Mormons." And he said, well, he said… I said, "I don't know their teaching on that, and I wouldn't want to say something contrary to their teaching, because that's what you are, and I respect that highly." And I said, "Well, and you believe that?"
He said, "Yes, sir, I do. But," said, "I don't live to it."
E-55 I said, "Well, I believe that the Bible teaches that God knew that baby, millions of years ago, before the foundation of the world." I said, "God told Jeremiah, 'Before you was ever conceived in your mother's womb, before you ever was come forth from the belly, I knew you, sanctified you, and ordained you a prophet to the nations.'" I said, "That's how much He knew about it, see."
He said, "Well," he said, "thank you."
E-56 He started walking down the hill. And then he met with this other fellow, and he said, "Why didn't you tell me that guy was a preacher?" And so we… He talked to him a little bit and begin to tell him about the meetings.
E-57 Now, Mormons believe prophecy. I don't… might not be any here, but they—but they do believe in—in prophecy. But, so, maybe I'm talking out of school, but I… Yeah. Yeah. But, however, they believe.
E-58 And he say, he come back to me, said, "I understand that you are a prophet."
E-59 I said, "No, sir." I said, "I… The Lord has showed me a few things to happen."
E-60 And he took off, right away, said, "Let's go in." And he got in his car, and went down to the… There was a little city from where he lived. In a few moments, he was missing. We was fixing the dogs, to take another hunt right after lunch. And when we did, why, he took off in a car.
E-61 In a few moments, a fine-looking young man come back, about seventeen years old, a real saintly-looking Christian gentleman. He said, "This is my brother." Said, "He is not a Jack Mormon. He is a real Mormon."
I said, "How do you do, son?"
E-62 And he said, "I understand, that my brother tells me, that you are a prophet."
E-63 I said, "No, sir." I said, "It isn't that I am a prophet." I said, "The Lord has showed me things to come to pass."
E-64 He said, "I have a shot in my arm right now, I'm supposed to be on the operating table." He said, "But my brother told me this. And I said, 'If that's so, I don't need the operation.'" He looked me right straight in the eye, an honest, true, sincere look, said, "You lay your hands upon me. If these things are so, I won't need the operation." He went home well.
E-65 This brother, Christian friend of mine, was hunting with me, from Phoenix. He said to me, he said… Some of these boys are sitting right here now. One of them I know is here present. We went home. He said, "Brother Branham, if the Lord would show you a vision and let you tell them Mormons just what's going to happen, that will do it, because they are looking for it."
E-66 So, I prayed and I prayed. And on my road back home, I was coming up, on the following Monday, Sunday, about ten o'clock, I was standing in the room, after church that morning, and was looking out.
E-67 And I saw flashlights flashing, or some kind of a light flashing. And I saw a lion that was in a tree, and—and it was too small for me to shoot. I didn't want it. And there was someone else shot it, and, when they did, they shot it with too big a gun. It blowed the lion up. I didn't appreciate the—the—the way it was done.
E-68 When I got up to Phoenix, I told Brother Dawson that, and Brother Moseley. I know he is here. I seen him the other day, somewhere here. And he was going up with me, he and his wife. And I said, "You watch and see, that's THUS SAITH THE LORD. It's going to happen that way."
E-69 Nights we waited, four or five nights, we had hunted, or days. Seldom you ever tree a lion at night. Happened to be, coming home, they turned the dogs loose, this hunter, this Mormon boy. And the—the lion struck a trail, or the dog struck the trail of the lion, rather, and run him up in a tree. And at ten o'clock at night they come, got us out of bed. We went out there, and there was that same lion in the tree. Flashing the lights, Brother Moseley shot him with about a forty-four caliber, liked to have blowed the lion half in two. And there it was, just exactly the way it was said.
E-70 The next day, I met the chief game warden of the state, another Jack Mormon. Took those boys together, leading them back home to Christ.
E-71 I tell you, He's the same yesterday, today, and forever. God proves His Word to be so.
E-72 You've heard people say, "Seeing is believing." That's not altogether true. Many people see and they still don't believe.
E-73 The days that Jesus was on earth, why didn't they recognize Him, that He was that Word of God made manifest? Why didn't the people realize that Moses said, "The Lord your God shall rise up a prophet likened unto me"? And He fulfilled every Word that the Bible spoke that He would do, but they didn't believe it.
E-74 But God, in every age, has proved His Word to be true. He always proves His Word. Then they say sometimes, that, "Seeing is believing." It isn't so. But we know that God goes right on proving His Word in every age.
E-75 We know that He proved it to Adam and Eve, that when He said, "The day you eat thereof, that day you shall surely die." We have to admit to that, that that's truth. We believe that, for He has proved it to us, and we know that it's the truth.
E-76 Now we'll just take some places that God did prove His Word. Let's take, for instance, in the days of—of Noah. God spoke to Noah a message that certainly was unscientific and unbelievable. No one could have believed. It had never rained upon the earth. Unscientific!
E-77 Perhaps they were a greater scientific age then than we are now, because they built pyramids and sphinxes, and so forth, in those days, that we can't build now. They was acquainted with a power, of some kind of a mechanical power, perhaps atomic or something, that they could lift those big boulders, that we couldn't do it today. But they did great scientific things. They had something they could embalm a body, to make it look natural for hundreds of years. We've lost that art.
E-78 Jesus said, "As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be at the coming of the Son of man." And we know that we are to enter into another great scientific age.
E-79 And now the message that Noah had was very much contrary to the belief of that day, in the church, and it was also very much contrary to the scientific research. But God proved His Word to be the truth. God proved that what that prophet said was the truth.
E-80 Also we'll take another for just a moment. Abraham was another prophet of the Lord, that the Word came to. And told him, when he was seventy-five years old, and Sarah was sixty-five years old, that he was going to have a child by Sarah. Now, that was quite a shock to an unbeliever. Could you imagine, today, such a thing happening even in this day, with all of our scientific achievements, and all these test-tube babies they talk about, and so forth? But this old woman, now of sixty-five years old, and an old man of seventy-five years old, but the Word of the Lord came to Abraham and told him that this was going to happen. And Abraham believed God. Now, no matter how much God spoke, and how true it was, Abraham had to believe what God said, to make it so. Now look how that man was tested, with his testimony, that he did believe.
E-81 That same man that made that confession, that he believed God, he's a person like you are, sitting here tonight. We still believe God. We got to believe His Word is the Truth. And He'll prove it, that It's the Truth, if we'll just believe it.
E-82 Now look at the hindrance that Abraham had. First thing was his age, seventy-five years old, and Sarah being sixty-five. She was way past the change of life, the menopause. No doubt but what it stopped, many years before. He had lived with her as a wife. It was his half sister, had probably taken her when she was just a girl in her teens, and had married her. And he had had no children. She was absolutely barren. And now we find that, to do this, he had to separate himself from all of the peoples who did not believe it, in order to make it come to pass.
E-83 I don't mean to say you have to separate yourself from peoples. But you have to separate yourself from all the gossip of unbelief, and stay away from that. When people says, "Ah, those things don't happen! That's a bunch of lunatic people! There is no such a thing as that happening," just close up your ears and walk away. Don't pay any attention to it.
E-84 The Bible said that "Abraham staggered not at the promise of God, through unbelief; but was strong, giving praise to God." His name was changed from Abram to Abraham, the changing of the name made his name, "father of nations." Could you imagine a man living with his wife, his sweetheart, that he had lived with her now for all these years, and now somewhere in the age of eighty years old, and his wife seventy years old, and yet without one child or any hope of child, yet claimed that he was the "father of nation." Could you imagine the criticism of his passing fellow man would say, "Father of nations, now how many children do you have at this time?" And all the criticism he had to go through with!
E-85 But Abraham didn't stagger anywhere at all, of unbelief. He believed that God was able to perform that which He had promised, that God would prove His Word, no matter how long it took. But instead of getting weaker each time, like we are prone to do, he got stronger all the time. "If it didn't happen today, tomorrow it will be a greater miracle, 'cause it's one day older." That was God, that was God in Abraham, for he knowed that God proved all of His Words to be so.
E-86 If His children will only take His Word, so He can prove It by you! That's the only way He can prove His Word.
E-87 He doesn't prove It to unbelievers. They can't be proved; they are unbelievers. But, It's not to unbelievers. It's not for unbelievers.
E-88 It's to him that believe. And if He can find somebody who will believe His Word, He will prove His Word by you. And sometimes sickness and things happen to us that way, that God can prove Himself.
E-89 Do you remember the blind man that Jesus found? They said, "Who sinned, he or his father, his mother?"
E-90 He said, "In this case, neither, but that the works of God might be made known." See, it happened to the boy so that Jesus could be glorified. Sometimes sickness is not a curse, it's a blessing, that we can stick our faith out there and call those things which are not, as though they were. God said so, and He'll prove it's so if you'll just not weaken under the test.
E-91 He could prove Job, one time, that he wouldn't curse Him to His face. Look at the trial that Job went through. But down in the very jaws of death, he yet said, "The Lord gave, the Lord taken away, blessed be the Name of the Lord!" He certainly believed it. God proved His Word to Job. He proved it to Abraham. He proved it so.
E-92 Also He proved it by Moses. And when Moses, when the difficulty was so against him, Moses had it in his mind, that perhaps, to be a deliverer, that his mother had probably told him he was born a proper child. She—she was his tutor that raised him up in Pharaoh's palace, no doubt had told him, "Son, we have prayed that we'd be delivered, and we believe that you are that child that God will use to deliver." And then when he…
E-93 See, he come up and was to be the—the son of Pharaoh's daughter, and we find out that he was to be heir to the throne. Why, no doubt it was in their mind then, that he would become the next Pharaoh, "And that's how he would deliver the people, by being the next Pharaoh." But God had a… If that would have been so, then he would have done it through a material, through a—a—a act of politics. But God doesn't always work like that.
E-94 God has His own ways to work, and He said He would "bring them out." He told Abraham, "After four hundred years," He would "bring them out, with a mighty hand," He would "show signs and wonders." So he couldn't do it like that, so Abra-… We find out that Abraham believed God, and here is Moses now believing God.
E-95 And Moses looked out of the same window that Pharaoh did, he saw the same people. That Pharaoh looked out upon them, as, "A cursed people, a people that had nothing but a bunch of fanaticism, for a God, and some desert God somewhere that they knowed nothing about; some unseen post that they pray to, that there wasn't nothing to it. They're a bunch of fanatics. And they were a bunch of slaves. And their God letting them be slaves, proved that He wasn't God."
E-96 And right in the midst of the whole thing, He was raising up the very man. God does things in such peculiar ways, right up under them. Not a theologian, not a teacher, not a priest, not one of their holy men; but just an ordinary man, born for the job. And God called him to be His prophet, and sent him down there. And nothing in his hand but a crooked stick, to face an army, mechanized units that had conquered the whole world. But with that stick in his hand, as God told him to hold that stick in his hand and he would deliver Israel, and he went down and did it because God promised it. How is he going to do it? "I will be with you."
E-97 He said, "Show me Your glory, Lord. I'm slow of speech. I can't talk right. And I…" He had a million excuses.
E-98 But He said, "I'll be with you." And that's all it took. He went, taking God's Word. No matter how dangerous the task seemed, Moses continued to believe God. And God proved His Word, through Moses, to be the truth. Because, regardless of what took place, Moses stayed right with the Word. In the time of the journey…
E-99 God told them, down in Egypt, also, that He would deliver them, "Into a promised land, a good land, full of milk and honey." And it was absolutely there. They didn't know it was there, but He said, "It's there, and I have given it to you. It's already yours, just go claim it!"
E-100 And in the wilderness, when many of them come out, dancing in the Spirit, when Miriam beat the tambourine; eating manna out of Heaven; listened at Moses sing in the Spirit; watching the miracles and signs go forth. But when it come to a showdown, to believe the whole Word of God, all the promise, they failed.
E-101 Only two of them believed it, that was Joshua and Caleb. And they brought back the evidence that the land was good.
E-102 But, the circumstances was, that's what was what hindered them. Because, they said, "We're not able to take that land, because their cities are walled, their—their—their delegates there. Not their delegates, but their—their people are a great giants. Why, we look like grasshoppers, up aside of them."
E-103 Joshua and Caleb said, "We are more than able to take it." Why? God had give it to them, no matter how big the giants was. The obstacle meant nothing to them. God had said so! And God proved it by them. And they did go over and take the land, as God said they would do it. He proved it to them.
E-104 Now, when they come up in the month of April, when the waters was flying down out of the mountains, over the snowdrifts, and so forth, and looked like that God was a poor general, to lead His army right up to a place, He had them pinned off from the promised land. And the very time He taken them over, was going to take them over, it was the worst month in the year. The month that the Jordan was overflowing its banks, run plumb out into the fields. Why, if they was going to take them over, it would be in the summertime, when they could wade across. But He waited till the waters got deep. He likes to show that He's God. He likes to prove His Word, regardless.
E-105 Don't care whether the doctor said, "You're dying with cancer." That's all the man knows. Maybe the waters are deep for some of you, tonight. But, remember, God made the promise. God keeps His Word, and God proves His Word. It's the Truth.
E-106 He waited till the waters got muddy, until they got deep and over their heads, and so forth, and then He opened up the way. He went before them and made the way.
E-107 How they going to get in, the Jericho, when it was all closed over? Joshua was wondering. He knowed God had led him that far, the next step belongs to God.
E-108 One day, when he was out walking around, viewing the walls, he seen a Man standing with His sword drawed. And he pulled his sword and went to meet the Man, he said, "Who are You for? Are You with us or are You for our enemy?"
E-109 He said, "I am the Captain of the hosts of the Lord." And He told him what to do. How is he going to blow a trumpet and a wall fall down, that they could run a chariot race across it? What would have anything to do with a trumpet?
E-110 God uses such simple methods. It's so, the simplicity of it, what makes it God to me. We're always trying to find some great something, is going to do something, and God… some great organization is going to take the whole thing and clear it all out. When, God takes a simple person, just one man that He can hold in His hands, and He'll prove every Word that He said, by It. Takes such simple little methods!
E-111 "Sound a trumpet." Not dig out the wall, but, "Just sound a trumpet, and the walls will fall down. The blast of the trumpet will knock the walls down." How foolish to the carnal mind! But God proved His Word was true, for the walls fell down, one on top the other. They went straight up and they took the city.
E-112 Oh, God likes to prove Hisself to be God! Joshua knowed that. One day, and when he was standing there, one of the greatest paradoxes that ever happened, outside of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. When the enemy… He had routed them, and the different armies was in the mountains. He had them routed, and the sun was going down. Oh, my, what a time it was for General Joshua!
E-113 Remember, he fought that land through, without having a hospital, a nurse, a first-aid band, or a wounded man. Tell me something that can beat that. Yes, sir. He never had no hospitals, no nurses, and he never lost any man, as long as they walked in the will and Word of the Lord. God proved that He was with them. That's right. Notice now.
E-114 And we find out that Joshua knew, if night come, they'd slip around and get with one another, and—and get theirself together and make another big army, and he'd have a rough time with them the next day. He didn't know what to do, so he looked up to God. He needed help, and he needed that sun to stand still. So he just commanded that sun to stand still, and the… said for "the moon to hang over Ajalon," not move until he commanded it. And the moon and sun stayed still for twenty-four hours, when Joshua fought the battle and conquered the enemy, because he was right in the line of duty. He had a right to do it, because he was obeying God's commandment.
E-115 And as long as you are in the line of duty, keeping God's Word, doing just what He told you to do, marching by the orders of God, you've got a right to say to that mountain, "Be moved!"
E-116 God keeps His Word. "If you say to this mountain, 'Be moved,' don't doubt in your heart, but believe that that what you said will come to pass, you can have that what you have said." Jesus said that, in Saint Mark 11:22. That's the Truth. I know that's the Truth. It's God's Word, and that proves that it's the Truth. We're just afraid sometimes. We get to a place, we're afraid He won't keep that Word. He will keep that Word. He said He would do it. Now, we find that's true. He proved it.
E-117 Isaiah's prophecy, one time, which something that had never happened; never did before, and never has since. He said, "A virgin shall conceive." Could you imagine a woman, without knowing a man, would have a child? Isaiah said, "A virgin shall conceive."
E-118 And God caused a virgin to conceive, to prove His Word truth. He proved His Word, 'cause a virgin did conceive and she brought forth the Son.
E-119 Now, that Word made flesh, look what It did. When that Son came forth, He was the Word Himself. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us."
E-120 He was that living Word. He proved He was that living Word. He said to those teachers of that day, "Who can condemn me of sin?" Sin is "unbelief." "Who can tell Me that I'm an unbeliever? Every Word that's written of Me, has been fulfilled." The last seven predictions of His life was fulfilled in the last seven hours, on the cross. Everything was written of Him, was fulfilled, because He was the Word. He proved He were, was. He healed the sick. He raised the dead. He conquered death, hell, and the grave. He proved He was the Word.
E-121 Notice this case here at Jairus' house. He was… He had told them the truth. We see Him as He crossed the sea. He comes in.
E-122 There was a little woman up on the hill, that had spent all of her money with the physicians. No doubt, the physicians had done all they knowed how to do, to get the woman well; probably Hebrew physicians, and that was a Hebrew woman, so they had done all they could for their sister. Although, they had nothing to stop this blood issue, which was, perhaps, a menopause time and her blood had flowed forth till she… little thing was so weak she could hardly get around any more. And she had heard about Jesus. And when she seen the little boat push into the willows, she went down to find out.
E-123 A lot of His critics was standing there. And He is not free of critics today. If they'd have knowed Who He was, they would not have been His critics. But they was His critics because they didn't know Who He was.
E-124 And that's the way with the Message today, so many good men and women criticize This because they don't know what It is.
E-125 Jesus said, "If you'd have knowed Moses, you'd have knowed Me. Moses spoke of Me. Many great man longed to see this day. If I do not the works of My Father, then believe Me not. I have greater witness," He said, "than that of John, for the works that I do, prove that the Father is with Me." He had greater works, because He was the Identified. John was identified also, as the voice of one crying in the wilderness. But when He come, He was the prophet that Moses had spoke of would be raised up.
E-126 As I said the other night, He come in three names; the name of the Son of God, Son of man, and Son of David.
E-127 When He was on earth here, the first time, He was the Son of man. He could not be Son of God then; He never claimed to be. He said He was "Son of man." When anybody would question Him, He said, "You see the Son of man; the Son of man." Now, "Son of man" is a prophet. He had to come that way, because, the Scripture, He cannot come contrary to the Scripture.
E-128 That's why, today, that our—our Message of this hour cannot come through theologians and theology, it's got to come back to the same thing it promised to do. It must be that way.
E-129 So we find that, in this Man, He had to be a prophet. Not Son of God there, He had to be Son of man. Jehovah Himself called the prophets, Jeremiah and them, "Son of man." "When you see the Son of man…" "Who is the Son of man?" they kept asking.
E-130 Then, He served His office as Son of man. Then He served His office now as Son of God. God is a Spirit, and when now He served through the Church Ages, as Son of God. Now, in the Millennium, He'll be Son of David, when He sits on the throne of David. He'll be Heir to the throne, Son of David. Son of man, Son of God, Son of David, and it's the same Man all the time.
E-131 Just like Father, Son, and Holy Ghost; the office of God. He was God the Father, then He became God the Son, now He is God the Holy Ghost. Not three Gods; one God, three manifestation, three attributes of the same God.
E-132 Now we find, and in this hour that we're now living, God keeps His Word just the same as He did then.
E-133 We find out that He come across the sea. This woman believed Him, there was something within her begin to pound. She had no Scripture for it, no more Scripture than Joshua had to stop the sun, but she believed in her heart that He was the Son of God. So she said, "If I can only touch His garment, I will be healed." So she pressed through the crowd until she touched His garment, and the blood issue stopped.
E-134 Now, He looked upon the audience, to find out who touched Him. No doubt, there was someone. He stopped. All the people thronging Him; and some making fun of Him, some laughing at Him; the priest standing off and questioning Him, and the clergymen, and so forth. But there was some who believed Him. And, and after a while He stopped, all of a sudden, turned around, said, "Who touched Me?"
E-135 Some of them said, "Why, Master!" I believe it was Peter said, "Why, the whole crowd is thronging You. Why, who 'touched' You? Why, everybody is touching You!"
E-136 He said, "But I perceive that virtue has gone from Me." He got weak. It was a different kind of touch.
E-137 If we could only see that, brother, sister! If you can touch Him with that certain touch! Oh, sick people, I'm fixing to pray for you, just in a few minutes. I do believe that I have the Holy Spirit, no more Holy Spirit than what you've got right out there, these men has got here. The same Holy Spirit, but it's a commandment of God; and if you'll believe that to be the commandment of God, of praying for the sick, and laying hands on them, and casting out evil spirits, and the promises that He has made, it'll be the same thing with you. You'll get what you ask for, if you can believe it.
"Canst thou believe that I'm able to do this?" said Jesus.
E-138 "Yeah, Lord, I believe," said the man with the child with the epilepsy, "I believe that Thou art the Son of God that was to come into the world." Now, we know that that can only take that attitude to bring the results.
E-139 Now, quickly, let's think of Him a moment, here He is on His road up. A little priest came down, no doubt but that little fellow was a borderline believer.
E-140 There is so many of them in the world today, little borderline believers. They want to believe That. They want to believe that the Holy Ghost is real. They want to believe this is the apostolic move, as God promised in the last days He would pour out His Spirit. We… he wants to believe in Malachi 4, that He promised, in the last days the—the original pentecostal Faith would be restored back to the—to the church again.
E-141 Malachi 4 claims it. "Behold, I will send to you Elijah in the last day," that's right, "and He will restore the Faith of the children back to the fathers again," see, "the Faith of the fathers to the children, also." See, it's got to be.
You say, "Well, that was John the Baptist." No, no.
E-142 John the Baptist was Malachi 3. That's right. Matthew 11 says so, "If you can receive it, this is he who is spoke of, 'Behold, I send My messenger before My face.'" It was Elijah, certainly. Jesus said it was. But not the Elijah of Malachi 4, at all.
E-143 Because, "Immediately after that Message, the earth is to be burnt with fire, and the righteous walk out upon the ashes of the wicked." So it never happened in the time of John. We've got to have a Message sweep back and bring the people out of all these denominational conditions, back to the original, genuine pentecostal Faith. And we're seeing it done, it's fulfilling of a Scripture that has to come to pass. All Scriptures must be fulfilled. How many more of that we could apply, it would take me longer than my time up now, to show. But you understand these things, that it's got to happen just exactly like this, to Abraham's children, just as He promised.
E-144 We see Jesus going up now to heal the little girl. Cause, the father, the little borderline believer, something come to a spot that he had to recognize Jesus, so, the doctor had given her up. And he got on his little black hat and took off down to find out whether he could find Jesus. See, He is always right there when you want Him. He found Him just coming into the shore.
E-145 And he said, "Come to my little girl, lay Your hands upon her, and she will be made well." Said, "She is laying at the point of death. She is my only child." Said, "She is twelve years of age. We don't have no other children. Wife and I," perhaps, "are getting old. And this is the only child that we have, and she is laying at the point of death. Lord, I believe You. If You'll just come lay Your hands upon her, she'll get well."
E-146 See, what did he recognize? He recognized that that promised Word of God was manifested in this Man.
E-147 Just the same as Nicodemus said, "Rabbi, teacher, we know Thou art a teacher comes from God. We know it. The Pharisees know it." Why didn't they confess it? "No man could do the things that You do, 'less God was with Him. We know that You come from God."
E-148 Here we find out that Jairus believed the same thing. He said, "Come lay Your hand." He knowed that God was in Him. "Lay Your hands upon my child. Though she is at the point of death, she'll live."
E-149 He just walked along with him. And while he was going, here come a runner coming back, and said, "Don't trouble Him, don't trouble the Master any farther. The—the girl, dead, she's gone on now. She's passed on."
E-150 Jesus turned to Jairus, said, "Didn't I say to you, 'If you would only believe, you'll see the glory of God'? If you'll just only believe it!"
E-151 He got into the room, and there they was, all lamenting and crying, and wailing, just like any persons would do. A fine little girl, a pastor's daughter, had died, and she was taken out of this world. And she probably been dead for hours, and then they had laid her out on the couch, and was ready to embalm her body, perhaps, and put her away, and in burial.
E-152 Then we find that Jesus walked in the house. They was all wailing. He says, "Give peace." He said, "She is not dead, but she is asleep."
E-153 Now could you imagine what they thought? "Why, this man we know, now. We understand that He's an illegitimate child. And we hear of His, all of His rashel predictions that He makes. And now we know that the priest is right, 'the man is crazy,' for we know that she is dead. The doctor pronounced her 'dead,' and there she lays. She is gone, and we know she is dead." They said, they laughed Him to scorn, in other words, made Him feel embarrassed, by criticizing Him.
E-154 But He had done said that she wasn't dead. That's all it takes. "She is asleep." No matter how much critics, He's going to prove His Word! He put them all out of the house, get all the unbelievers away. Took Peter, James, and John, the believers, three witnesses, and the father and mother, went in and took the daughter by the hand, and spoke in a language that called her soul back from somewhere out yonder in Eternity. And the girl lived.
E-155 What did He do? He proved His Word. He proved that what He said. She was not dead. She was asleep. Now we find out, doing this, realizing, and He proved something else there. Now He proved that He was God. He proved that He had foreknowledge. Watch what His Word said now. "She is not dead, but she is asleep." See, she wasn't dead, to begin with. She was asleep. Showed His foreknowledge. Now, there might have been a many a little maiden died that same morning, but this one wasn't dead. She was asleep, like Lazarus was. And He called her out of that sleep, because she wasn't dead.
E-156 "And he that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live; and whosoever liveth and believeth in Me, shall never die." Only those who are on the Lamb's Book of Life, that He redeemed when He died, that's who He'll call out of that sleep, at that day, those who are quickened by His power, that has that quickening power laying in them. Even as I said last night; even after Elisha had died, and his bones was laying in the grave, that quickening power was still on his bones.
E-157 Sure, He proved that Who He was. Now we find out again, likewise, He proved also, that, in Hebrews the 4th chapter and the 12th verse, He proved He was the Word of God. He certainly did. Notice what He did. Hebrews, 12, Hebrews 4:12 says that, "The Word of God is more powerful, quicker than a two-edged sword, and—and It also is a Discerner of the thoughts and the intents of the heart." Watch just a moment now.
E-158 When He first started His ministry, after He come out to show that He was the Word, when He come out of the wilderness from His temptation, there was a man named Peter, his name then was Simon. And he came to Jesus with his brother, Andrew. And as soon as he walked up into the Presence of Jesus Christ, Jesus said, "Your name is Simon. And your father's was Jonas. From henceforth you shall be called Peter." That proved that He was the Word, because the Word is a Discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. He was the Word.
E-159 Philip seen this happening. He took off around the mountain, was gone a day, and come back. And he brought with him a friend named Nathanael. And he said, "These things are really happening. Moses said 'the Lord our God shall raise up a Prophet' like him, and here the Man is. Why, He told Simon who he was, even who his father was, and we know that what He says is the truth. Because, God said it in the Word, and here it is proved that He was to do that, and that proves that that is the Messiah."
E-160 And when he walked up in His Presence, Jesus said to him, said, "Behold an Israelite, in whom there is no guile."
E-161 He said, "Rabbi, when did You know me?"
E-162 Said, "Before Philip called you, when you were under the tree, I saw you." He proved His Word. He proved God's Word. He did.
E-163 The woman at the well, when she had… Well, He asked her to let Him have a drink of water from the pitcher that she was drawing water from the well, and she said, "It's not customary for you Jews to ask we Samaritan women such a thing as that, because we have no dealing."
E-164 He said, "But if you knew Who you were speaking with, you would ask Me for a drink."
She said, "The well is deep."
E-165 And the conversation, as it moved on, finally He found out what her trouble was. And He said, "Go get your husband, and come here."
She said, "I don't have any husband."
E-166 He said, "Thou has said truth, for you've had five, and the one you're living with now is not your husband."
E-167 "Why," she said, "sir, I perceive that You are a prophet." She…"We hadn't had one for four hundred years, you know." Said, "I perceive that You are a prophet. Now, we know that when the Messiah cometh, which is called the Christ, when He comes, He will tell us these kind of things. That will be His sign."
E-168 When He said, "I am He that speaks with you," He proved His Word. He… we prove what He claimed to be. He was the Messiah, the Son of God.
E-169 Now we find out, also, that this little woman that had this blood issue, that touched His garment, that also proved to her that He was the Word of God.
E-170 Now remember, tonight, Jesus said… Also, in Hebrews, 1, Hebrews the 3rd chapter, I believe it is, He said that, "He now is a High Priest," this age we're living in now, "a High Priest sitting in the Majesty of God, in the Heavens, that can be touched by the feeling of our infirmity."
E-171 Hebrews 13:8 said, "He's the same, yesterday, today, and forever." He's the same God that He was then. He's the same tonight.
E-172 Saint John 14:12, He said, "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also. Even more than this shall he do, for I go to My Father." See? "He that believeth on me, these works that I do shall he do also."
E-173 In Matthew 28, He said, "A little while and the world won't see Me no more, yet ye shall see Me, for I will be with you even to the end of the world."
E-174 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He stands, tonight, to prove His Word. (My time is gone.) But He proved He could. He proved His Word then, what He had promised for that day. He proved Isaiah's words. He proved Noah's words. He proved Moses' words. He proved every one of the prophets' words.
E-175 He promised that in this day, the day that we're living in, that the world would be in a Sodom condition, homosexuals. Just look at it in the world today, all over the world where I travel; not only here, everywhere. It's critical. In Sweden, young men and women go skiing, stark-naked. And they in Germany and in France, and everywhere else, it's just about kind of a riffraff that we have here in the United States. It's an age. I, if I get a chance to ever come back, I'd like to speak on some of the prophetic things, to you, and show you that, the age that we're living in. The Bible said that, "Children would rule their parents."
E-176 [Blank.spot.on.tape—Ed.]… Word.
E-177 But, remember, Abraham had a seed, which was the seed Isaac. He had other seeds after Sarah's death. And he was a hundred and forty-five years old, he married another woman, had seven sons besides daughters, 'cause God had turned him back to a young man when he was a hundred years old. He was then again just forty-five, so then he… We know that. I've preached that to you here in California, years ago.
E-178 And now we understand that Abraham's Seed was not the literal sexual seed through Sarah, which was Isaac, which made a nation, but the royal Seed was by the promise, which was Jesus Christ. And through that Seed, He raised up a royal Seed. Oh, my! Now we are a royal priesthood, a royal nation, a holy nation, offering praises to God, the sacrifice of our lips giving praise to His Name. God proved His Word, He poured out the Holy Ghost upon us.
E-179 He said, "As it was in the days of Sodom, so shall it be in the day when the Son of man will being revealed." Now did you notice? From Son of God, just before He become Son of David, He reveals Himself again as Son of man. Did you notice the Scripture?
E-180 For, He always does, He never does nothing unless He makes it known to His servants the prophets. That's exactly. That's what His promise was. See? He never does nothing… God cannot lie. He always reveals it, first, before He does it.
E-181 Look at the situation we're sitting in today. Look where we're at. Every one of you will admit we're in a modern Sodom. You know this country is in for it. They're beyond hopes. There is no salvation left for this nation or no other nation. We're beyond that now. The prophecies that's prophesied about this, is fulfilled. God is gleaning, getting that little sheep wherever it is. It'll all be in, one day. We're at the end time. Look, positionally.
E-182 I ask you, just as a brother or sister, to build just a moment more of faith before we pray for these people. And I know we don't have to go at no certain time. But I—I—I want to start the prayer line, then you that have to go may go then. See? You that want to stay in the prayer line may stay. But just let me, just as a brother, just point out something to you a moment.
E-183 Watch Jesus, in Luke 17:30, see, when He was saying there about the end time, how they would be like in days of Noah. Then He said, "And like, likewise, in the days of Sodom," said, "when the Son of man is being revealed." The Son of man again, not Son of God. "Son of man," see, that brings in Malachi 4 again, right straight back. All these other prophecies coming right in, how it's supposed to be done. He proves His Word to be so. That's right.
E-184 And notice, in doing so, how He is going to pour out His Spirit upon all flesh, and what's going to take place, how the restoration will come back. "And your sons and daughters shall prophesy. Upon My handsmaids and maidservants will I pour out of My Spirit. And I'll show signs in the heavens above."
E-185 I got a picture here, of Brother Lee Vayle's here. I'd like to show you just what taken place up on the mountain, the other day, when all the school kids turned out, just before this great subject of the open, them Seven Seals. When the school kids turned out, when I was up in there praying, here was Fire just in a funnel coming down, then go back up and burst out, and turn around and come back down again. That's what He said what to go tell the people. We… There It is, where the schools of Tucson… and where It went up into the air.
E-186 And science took the pictures, and so forth, and questioned about It. They said, "Where is It at? What happened?" They can't make it out, see. Oh, it's not done in a corner, only darkened conscience. It never… Jesus, when He was here, there was millions of people never knew He was on earth. Yeah. There will be millions today won't understand, tens of millions of them.
E-187 But there will be, to those Who It's sent to, they will understand. "The wise shall know their God in that day, and they'll do exploits." We realize that, the hour that we're now living.
E-188 Look at Sodom now, look what happened. He said, "As it was in the days of Sodom." There was a group of people that was looking for a promised son. We believe that. That was Abraham and his group. There was a lukewarm bunch, Lot, half backslid, yet a believer; down in Sodom. Three classes of people.
E-189 There is always them three classes. Ham, Shem, Japheth's people. Also, believers, make-believers, and unbelievers. They're everywhere, and we—we find them in every group. And, everywhere, you find them. And that groups is still here. You have to divide that. You can take it right through the Scripture, just dovetails itself right in.
E-190 Listen to this. Look at where we're sitting, positionally and prophetically, tonight. Now, every one of us know that the world is in a Sodomite condition.
E-191 We know all the prophecies of Israel, is in its homeland. If you want to know nationally where we are standing, watch Israel, where it's at.
E-192 If you want to know what condition the church is, watch the way women act. She's the church. See her, immoral, indecent; watch, look where the church is at. Just watch it, see, see, just watch women. You see where, how your women degrade and become so polluted, that's the way your church is, see, the type.
E-193 Watch where Israel is, you see the time figure where we're at. See, just watch those signs and wonders. If you—if you, or if your eyes is open, see where we're at.
E-194 Now watch positionally where we're setting, the world in a Sodom condition. Now notice, "as it was." Now notice, there was somebody, in that day, watching for a coming promised son. Abraham and Sarah, they were watching for a promised son in Abraham's group. They was not in Sodom. But just at the moment, the last chapter of the event, just before the promised son came, there were three man came down from Heaven, an Angel… two Angels and God. And they came down and talked with Abraham, under the oak. Is that right? [Congregation says, "Amen!"—Ed.] And two of them went down into Sodom and cried out against the sins of the city. And it was just before the burning of the Gentile world, at that time. All Sodom perished right then. Just a few was pulled out, Lot and his two daughters. His wife never even made it; she turned back. How I could just like to have time to show you that right now, where that church is standing at that position. I want you to notice now.
E-195 And one Man stayed behind, that talked to Abraham, and he done a sign to Abraham. And, watch, Abraham had seen God in many great signs. We believe that, don't we? [Congregation says, "Amen."—Ed.] Just before the coming son. But before the son was manifested, there was a sign he was given.
E-196 Because, the Son, the true Son, was to be the Son of God, through Abraham's faith, see, was Jesus. We being Abraham's seed, dead in Christ, we are Abraham's seed.
E-197 Notice now just before that taken place, this son to come. Now, this One that stayed and talked to Abraham, had His back turned to the tent, and He said, "Abraham." Now, just a day before that, he was Abram. Now He said, "Abraham, where is thy wife, Sarah?" not Sarra, S-a-r-r-a. S-a-r-a-h, princess. "Where is thy wife, Sarah?"
Said, "She is in the tent behind You."
E-198 He said, "I'm going to visit you, see, according to My promise that I made you." In other words, "The time of life, Sarah will start in her ordinary time of life again."
E-199 And Sarah, being old, a hundred years old now, in the tent, laughed up her sleeve. See, she smiled to herself, said, "How could that Man be right? See, me an old woman, my lord Abraham out there, also old, family affair had been done away with for years." Said, "How can I ever have pleasure again with my lord? He being old, and me old, past bearing, milk veins gone, every… 'She is dried up.' How could we ever have pleasure again?"
E-200 And that Man, with His back turned to the tent, said, "Why did Sarah laugh, saying, 'How can these things be?'" What was that? Discernment, a prophetic! See? See? That's what he seen.
E-201 Now He said, "That will return again, and the Son of man," which that was, that was the Son of man right there. Well, he called Him Elohim, "Lord God." Elohim, anybody knows that's right, Elohim is the Lord God. "In the beginning Elohim created heavens and earth," the all-sufficient One. The Son of man made flesh, there He was standing there in flesh at that time, like a theophany, standing there discerning what Sarah was saying in the tent behind Him. He promised. Watch. The Royal Seed of Abraham is promised to see that same thing.
E-202 But notice Lot, he had a messenger down there, too, two of them went down there. One of them went down, and another one went down with him, and they preached and called the people to flee from the wrath that was to come.
E-203 Positionally, the world has never sit in that estate, from that day that Jesus made the promise, until right now. I want to ask any historian that might be in the building, or if you hear even on this tape, and hear it at any time, please write me. I've studied history now for some thirty years, the Bible history, and there never has been a person that I've ever seen in all the history of the church, through the seven church ages. That we're now in Laodicea, and we know that.
E-204 Never has there been a messenger, that ever went to the entire church, with his name ending with h-a-m, till now. G-r-a-h-a-m, Billy Graham. There has been Moody's, Finney, Sankey, Knox, Luther, and so forth, but never a h-a-m, "father to nations." Now remember, he is G-r-a-h-am, six letters. But A-b-r-a-h-a-m is seven letters. Notice, they're down there, Billy Graham, going into the—the all parts of the world, and calling out of Sodom, "Come out, flee the wrath that is to come." There is no man that I know of, in the field, that has got a hold of God, on that word of justification, like Billy Graham does. He can present it. He's not such a theologian… I guess he's a theologian, but he's not just a powerful teacher. But God is with him. That man will stand there with like a Sunday school lesson, hold those people spellbound. He's God's servant of the hour. To who? The church natural, that's in Sodom.
E-205 But remember, there was one church spiritual, that wasn't in that denominational outfit, either. Called-out group, and they received a message, also, and a messenger. And what was it? Discerning the thoughts that was in the heart. God always proves His Word.
E-206 Let's pray. Dear Heavenly Father, this crucial moment, where decisions must be made, time is ticking on by, we don't know what hour our Lord may come. And as we see these prophecies that's been made by Him, through Your prophets down through the ages, is now being unfolded. O God, how I thank You for this, that even able-bodied man, able man in—in theology, that can stand up against the wiles of the world and the unbelievers, and on these panels, and beyond a shadow of doubt stand there bold and gallant, knowing where they're standing and prove that Word to be true, by the Scriptures. And then we who are waiting on Your Coming, Lord, believing these other things that's been prophesied that would take place, to stand and enjoy seeing You walk right among us and perform the very thing that You said would come to pass, proving Your Word to be right. Eternal God, Your sick children are sitting here.
E-207 I don't know how much more time we've got to work. The evening sun is sinking. But You promised, to the prophet, "It shall be Light about the evening time." And we see the same sun rises in the east, is the one that sets in the west. Civilization has traveled with the sun and now we're at the West Coast, and the Gospel traveled with civilization. Now, Father, we know this is the end of the Gospel, the end of time, the end of the age. She is fading into Eternity. But You promised that the Son would come out, the Son of man would be revealed. In the last day, this would take place. The evening Lights have come, Father. We thank Thee for that. And humbly as it is, yet You do it so simple, many times, that it goes way over the top of the great, so-called deep thinkers, and reveals it to babes such as will learn.
E-208 I pray, God, that You'll make it so, tonight, that Your poor sick children here will see the promise of God, and each one of them will be healed, and go out of here, tomorrow, with new strong bodies, and be well again. Grant it, Lord, so that they can take the Message from one to the other, till that last one is in the fold, and then the doors will be shut. Help us, dear God. I ask You, tonight, in the face of all this, if You'll just once more, Father, for me.
E-209 It—it seemed, the other night, the people never noticed it much. But, I pray, let it happen again tonight, Lord. Cause, I have went over my lotted time to speak, but I don't know how much longer we're going to have to do this. So, I pray, Father, will You hear me? And hear the prayer of these godly men and women that's sitting here tonight, who is filled with Your Spirit. They are believers, Lord, You can just work among them. And we're… I pray that You'll confirm Your Word that You said, "He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also." Let it be again, Jesus, to prove that You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. I ask it for the glory of God, in the Name of His Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
E-210 Now, just for a moment, I want to know how many people in here that have prayer cards. I—I want you to raise your hands, each one of you that has prayer cards. Well, it's generally, I guess, just about all over.
E-211 I wonder how many people in here that does not have prayer cards, and yet you're sick, would you raise your hands and say, "I do not have a prayer card, and yet I am sick. I am needy."
E-212 I want to ask you to be reverent for a moment. Now, I love to talk to you. That's always my trouble, I talk too long. But before you come, I—I'd hope and trust that God will prove this and what I've said to be the Truth, and let—let Him just see.
E-213 Now, how many sitting out there that's sick, that knows that I don't know one thing about you, raise up your hands. Just look at that. All right.
E-214 I want you without the prayer cards now. The prayer cards will be called up. I want you to pray.
E-215 The Bible said that, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." He says, "He's a High Priest sitting there making intercessions upon our confession." We have to confess it first, before He can be a High Priest, 'cause He only intercedes to our confession. Is that right, minister brethren? [The ministers say, "Amen."—Ed.] See, He only intercedes upon our confession, what we confess that He is, what He has done for us. Not what He will do. He has already done it. We have to confess that He's done it. "He was wounded for our transgressions, with His stripes we were healed."
E-216 Now, the Heavenly Father knows. And looking upon you, is to see I recognize a good friend of mine from Ohio, him and his wife sitting here, is Mr. Dauch and his wife. And I believe, sitting second or third from them, is again that Reverend, Mr. Blair that I seen last night. It's dark over the audience, to me, account of these lights here is kind of a little blarry to me, and I—I don't see you too well.
E-217 But I want you to pray. And you put on your heart the thing that you have need of, and you ask our High Priest, Who can be touched by the feeling of our infirmities.
E-218 Now, me not knowing you, and you might just touch me all over, be like touching your brother, your husband, your pastor, someone, it wouldn't—it wouldn't do no good. But if you touch Him, and if we are truly in line with His Spirit, then He can use your faith to touch Him, and by a gift to speak back through.
E-219 See, I'd be just as mute as this, this is here, without a voice speaking through it. There has got to… This, this is a mute without something here to speak through it. And so is any person, is a mute, when it comes to these things, unless God speaks through them.
E-220 Now you pray, and let's see if these things that I have said is the truth. God help it to be so. I don't say that He will. I hope that He will. I'm trusting that He will. He has never let me down yet, over the years, across and around the world, with all kinds of nations, and millions of people. He has never failed me yet. And I'm sure, just as sure as I believe I'm standing here, He won't fail me now.
E-221 I'm going to ask you just to be reverent and keep seated, just for a few moments. We're going to dismiss the main audience and pray for the sick, just in a moment.
E-222 But I want you, you believers, that if you'll just not look to me, but believe. Say, "I believe that what the man said is the Scripture. I don't know as we're as far up in the time as he says we are. But, if it is, then it's got to happen. If his Words are God's Words, then, his words will fail but God's Words won't."
E-223 God is obligated to back up His Word. He'll prove It. He'll prove It. "He that believeth on Me." He proved that this is the last day. He proved what would happen. He proved that this was supposed to happen.
E-224 And, remember, Abraham and his group never received one more sign from God, until the promised son arrived. How many knows that's true? [Congregation says, "Amen."—Ed.] That sign of discernment! And the royal Seed of Abraham, let me hear you… Let me tell you. THUS SAITH THE LORD, you're receiving your last sign. That's according to the Scriptures and the revelation of God that's in my heart, that speaks that this is the Truth. And I trust that you will believe it to be the Truth.
E-225 Now you believe. Everybody just believe, say, "Lord Jesus, let me touch You. I have a need in my heart, and I know Brother Branham knows nothing about me. I don't even know the man, he don't know me, but You know. And if he has told me the Truth, this will happen." I ask you, don't move now, just for a little bit. Be real…
E-226 See, you're spirit. And I take every spirit in here under my control, in the Name of Jesus Christ, that His Word might be fulfilled.
E-227 Now just be reverent. Pray. Look to Him, say, "Lord, I believe it. Help Thou my unbelief."
E-228 Let's start. I have to concentrate on some sort of the part of the building here, 'cause, see, so many of you, and each one of you is a spirit.
E-229 I cannot. You say, "What about me?" I could not tell you. It's sovereign. All the works of God is sovereign. There will be many people healed crossing this platform, tonight, there will probably be many not. It's all in the sovereign of God. Who can tell Him what to do? No one. He works according to His Own will, His Own plan.
E-230 But you just believe. Be humble. Don't be nervous. Just reach out for God, and say, "Lord God, I believe it." See? "Let me touch Your garment. I have need of such-and-such. I know the brother don't know me or know my need, but he told us about these things that You did, and say that You're here the same today."
E-231 That don't exclude you brethren here on the platform, any of you. I just ask you, my brethren, as fellow workers of the—of the Gospel of Christ. I speak to you just as sincerely as I know, as a—a dying man with you, see, leaving this world. We've got to leave. And I must give an account at the Day of Judgment, for what I say. I'm conscious of that, very conscious. And I appreciate you man, what you are, standing here with me, helping me. I'm trying to help you, to do everything I can, for the Kingdom-of-God's sake.

E-232 Here, how many ever seen that Light in the picture? You seen the picture of It? [Congregation says, "Amen."—Ed.] There It hangs right there. Can't you see It?
E-233 It's up over that lady sitting there with her handkerchief. She is praying for a loved one. That's right, lady. [The lady says, "That's right, Brother Branham."—Ed.] That loved one… Do you believe me to be His prophet, or pardon me, His servant? ["I sure do."] You believe that? All right. Now, if God can reveal to me what's wrong, why, you will accept it to be from God, just as the woman that touched His garment? Now, you know you're—you're twenty or thirty feet from me, or more, you never touched me. But you've touched Something, that you know you're in contact with Something, Someone. What it is, it's for a woman, which is your daughter. That's right. Do you believe that she'll be made well? She is a dope addict. ["That's right."] That's exactly right. ["That's right, brother."] I see her swimming, drunk. See? Now, the handkerchief that you have in your hand, you place upon her, and don't doubt. I believe that God will deliver her. Will you believe it with me? Amen. ["Oh! Thank You, Jesus!"]
E-234 Now, I don't know the woman, but God knows her. Do you believe now with all your heart?
E-235 The man sitting up there with the striped shirt on, with a hernia, you believe that God would heal you and make you well? Do you believe that He'll do it? I've never seen the man in my life. You have a prayer card, sir? [The man says, "No, I don't."—Ed.] You don't have? You don't need one.
"If thou canst believe!"
E-236 Here sits a woman trying to look over the top of this woman sitting right here. She is a stranger to me. But she is real nervous. I don't know her. I've never seen her, in my life. But God knows her, and she realizes right now she is in contact with Something. You've been praying there for some cause. The reason that you are, you can't stay no longer than tonight. You must leave the meeting. You're planning on going to your home, tomorrow. You're not from here, or neither are you from California. You're going east from here. You're going by air. You're planning, going by air. You're from Oklahoma. Yeah. That's right.
E-237 You are also in a dying condition. You come here to be prayed for. You do not have a prayer card. But you believed that you're going to be healed, if you could only get here. That's right. Also, your condition is cancer. The cancer is in the bone. Do you believe you're going to be healed now? You believe you're in contact with Him, my sister? Perhaps God will tell me who you are, then would that help you? If it is, raise up your hand if you believe that, that (God) it would help you. Alright, Mrs. Steel, you can return to Oklahoma.
I don't know the lady. I have never seen her.
E-238 Here is a lady sitting right back here behind her. She is suffering with varicose veins. And she has also got a son that's an alcoholic, and she is praying for him. If she'll believe, she can be healed. Mrs. Mason, will you believe with all your heart, and believe that Jesus Christ will grant the healing to you? You do?
E-239 All right, then lay your hand on that lady sitting next to you there, she is praying for her husband that's unsaved. God will grant the healing.

E-240 Dear God, I pray that You'll grant that blessing to her. Give that woman the desire of her heart, Lord. Her faith is so close to You, it's touched You. And I pray, Father, that You'll help, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
E-241 Now believe with all your heart, that you receive it. Will you do that? All right. God bless you.
E-242 Do you believe your husband is going to be saved, lady? Do you believe with all your heart? Raise up your hand, you do.
E-243 There seems to be, before me, a woman that's very heavy. There she sits. You believe me to be God's servant? You believe me to be God's servant? You do? All right. I do not know you. What your trouble is, is glands. You're overweight. You've been to a doctor, he said he could do nothing about it, but that was an earthly doctor. See? Your… You just had a lot of sorrow. You've lost your husband. You're not from here. You're really from Arkansas. You're seeking work, also, and you can't find work. You was afraid that, something, you wouldn't get called. But your faith now has touched God. My sister, you go, believe. God give you a job, give you the desire of your heart.
E-244 God proves His Word to be true. Do you believe that to be so? [Congregation says, "Amen."—Ed.] Now I just want you to pray with me again.
E-245 Father, God, You are the same God that proved. When You said, "The girl is not dead, she is asleep," then You had to prove it. Now, You promised, that just before the coming of the end time, that the Son of man would reveal Himself in the same manner He did at Sodom. You promised it, Lord. Now You've come to the earth, in the form of the Holy Spirit, and got among us, tonight, we believing people, and have proved it. You have proved Your Word like You did that day. Lord, we need no more proof. You're among us. We love You. And we realize that this is the last sign just before Your Coming, according to the Scriptures. And all the shadows and types never fail. They have got to be positive.
E-246 So we pray, Father, as Your children come now to be prayed for, that every one will be healed. May there not be a sick person left among us, at the end of this healing service. O dear God, will You let Your anointing be so graciously upon Your people just now, that every one of them may be healed?
E-247 And if there be some here, who is not Your children yet, and upon the basis of these things, that… They have heard the Word and seen the thing done, just exactly proved to the very letter, and Who You are and what You are, that You're here.
E-248 And, Lord, would You—would You bless a lie? Why, certainly not, Lord. But You did promise to bless Your Word, and It would not return void. It would accomplish that which It was purposed for. And now You have did that before us, tonight, beyond any shadow of doubt.
E-249 And with our heads bowed, is there people here that never have believed before, that would like to just raise up your hand? With your head bowed, just raise up your hand. And stand to your feet, and say, "I now believe, with all my heart. And I want to accept Jesus Christ, right now." Would you do that, any people, any people that's here, that hasn't yet accepted Christ, and would want to do it at this time? I won't tell you… You go to the church of your choice. But I'm asking you to receive Jesus Christ while you… You'll probably never be no closer to Him until you see Him in person when He comes in His visible body from the Heavens. Will you now accept Him if you haven't already done it?
E-250 Upon basis of seeing no one here standing, I believe then all of you to be sane, sensible people, and realizing what you're doing. If you're sitting there under this, you remember, "If you're ashamed of Me before man, I'll be ashamed of you before My Father." There was somebody standing up, maybe, yes, in the audience, in the back.
E-251 Dear God, those may, I not see, that's standing, they want to accept You. They realize, Lord, that this has not been done until this time, and now You confirm it and prove that it's so. I pray, Father, that in their hearts, that's strangely moved at this time… How do we know but what this is the last person to come in? This may be the end for Los Angeles. This may be the last soul that'll be born into the Kingdom. We don't know when that times comes. And when it does, the door will be closed, the Body will be complete. It will not be a freak Body or a freak Bride. It'll just have so many members whose names were put on the Lamb's Book of Life before the foundation of the world, to which Jesus came to take, like Adam, walk right out to save his wife. I pray, God, that You'll receive them now into Your Kingdom. They're in Your hands. Deal with them, Lord, I pray in Jesus' Name. Amen.
E-252 God bless each one of you that stood. I didn't know some of you were standing. Some stood in the back, some up in the balcony. Now I want you to do one thing for me. Please understand me. Meet some minister here and talk it over with them, after the church is over. Will you do that? Don't let it fail. If you've never been baptized in Christian baptism, do that next, and then stay with your hands up until you receive the Holy Ghost.
E-253 Now, and many people has prayer cards here. We're going to ask them to stand, and come up here, and I guess walk across. Or shall I have to come… [A man says, "No."—Ed.] I'll not be able to. ["Come from this side over here."] From this side over here, can come out through this way, over on this side, the people who have prayer cards.

E-255 And let those who have prayer cards stand for prayer now, as universally we pray for the people. Now we want you to know, now, you that's standing with a prayer card, is there any doubt in your life? Is there any, pardon me, any sin in your life that you haven't confessed? If there is, let me ask you this. Don't come into the prayer line with unconfessed sin in your heart. Cause, you must… This is the children's bread, see. And if you're not a Christian, surrender your life to Christ, in the prayer line, then come. It's for the believer. Will you do it? Accept Him first as your Saviour, and then come across the platform, to be prayed for.
E-256 Now I'm going to pray for each individual; not just pass them by, like some kind of a routine. We're in a church now. I think Sister Wyatt has give us the reason that we can stay and pray. [A man says, "Yes, all night, as long as you want."—Ed.] We can stay as long as we want to. And I thank Sister Wyatt and the staff here, for letting us do that. God bless her. Her gallant husband stood on this platform, prayed for sick, until he died, as far as I know, a real soldier of the cross. And now I'm trying to keep on doing the same thing, bless this people.
E-257 And now I pray that each one of you comes past here… You don't have to confess anything that you want to. You don't have to say anything wrong with you. Just come and let me pray for you, and believe.
E-258 Do you believe that God has sent me to do this? Raise up your hand. Remember what the Angel of the Lord said? "If you get the people to believe you, be sincere when you pray, nothing shall stand before the prayer." And you know that's true. It's been proved, over and over.

I've begin to notice, in the meetings, that it takes effect fifty percent better than what it does when you call the people in line, have discernment, 'cause you only get to just a few. And, this a way, there is many more gets healed.
E-293 Have you confessed all your sins of unbelief and everything? You believe now that you're going to be healed? [The sister says, "Yes, and delivered."—Ed.]

E-325 You've come believing, sister?
E-326 Dear Heavenly Father, I ask Your blessings on our sister, just obeying what You said do. You said, "These signs shall follow them that believe. If they lay their hands on the sick," You said, "they shall recover."
E-327 May I stop here just a moment, to say in this, just to let the people rest a moment, just for a moment. A critic once said, to me, that isn't so. But, you see, He said, "These signs shall follow."
E-328 You've heard my Message on The Trial, putting Jesus on trial. See, He told Noah, "It was going to rain." It never rained for a hundred and twenty years, but it rained anyhow. He told Abraham he'd have a son by Sarah. It was twenty-five years later. He never said when. He said they'd have the son. Twenty-five years later, it happened. See, He didn't say when.
E-329 He said, "The prayer of faith shall save the sick. God shall raise them up. If they lay hands on the sick, they shall recover." Is that what He said? [Congregation says, "Amen."—Ed.] He didn't say they'd jump up and do it right then. He said, "They shall recover." See, that's His promise. That's what we believe.
E-330 Come, sister. You believe that to be true? [The sister says, "Yes, I do."—Ed.] Then there is no way to keep you from being healed.
E-331 I lay my hands upon sister, in the Name of Jesus Christ, for her healing. Amen.

E-333 Dear God, I lay my hands upon sister, in obedience to Your commandment, and ask for her healing, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
E-334 I want you that's being prayed for, I want you to do me a favor. I want you to report, before these meetings are over, what happens; and just let the audience, the other people, see what really takes place. Maybe tomorrow, next day, or when, you just watch what takes place.
E-335 My mail has showed that it's—it's so much different than just to letting them try, test their own faith. Because, Jesus said, "They lay hands upon them. They lay hands upon them, they shall recover." Now get what He said. He didn't say they'd jump up and run up-and- down the floor. They could do that. But He said, "They shall recover." Is that what He said? That's what He said. That's what I believe. And He is here now, the One that said the Word is here to make it so.

E-349 Now we got some handkerchiefs here, and so forth, in here, to be prayed over. And I want you to continue to pray with me now, now, these little parcels, now. I know this sounds very strange for people to pray over a little thing like this. But if you could only come into my office, once, and just watch. If we had kept testimonies through these years, I suppose you couldn't have piled on this platform, that's been healed just by sending out these prayer cloths like this, millions of them, around and around the world. Now, you know what it is—it is?
E-350 Somebody get that handkerchief there for that—that young… You'll know your handkerchief, will you, brother? All right.
E-351 And I have seen little, crippled children healed. And you see, what it is, it's just a point of contact, as Oral Roberts used to say. It's just a point of contact. We pray. Now, we don't do this ourselves, we do this because the Bible commissions us to do this. We all know that's true.
E-352 Now, there is many people that they anoint handkerchiefs, and so forth. Well, now, we think that's all right, sure, but if we just… The Bible didn't say that they "anointed" handkerchiefs.
E-353 "But they took from the body of Paul handkerchiefs." Now see what I was talking about? Now, what they seen, that quickening power that was in Paul, that they knew he was God's servant. They knowed that God was in him. They knowed that everything that he touched was blessed. How many understands that? Say, "Amen." [Congregation says, "Amen."—Ed.]
E-354 You know, I think Paul was quite Scriptural in what he done. Don't you think so? You want me to tell you where I think he got the idea of doing it? [Someone says, "From Elisha."—Ed.] From Elisha, is right. See, Elijah said, "Take this staff and go lay it on the baby." And the prophet sent the staff because he knowed that everything that he touched was blessed. He knew his position. He… if he could just get the woman to believe the same thing.
E-355 Now see, now, the Bible never even said, "They shall pray for the sick." It said, "They shall lay hands on the sick."
E-356 Now just think, the people seen, in the apostle Peter, the Presence of God manifested in this man, insomuch that they—they even laid the people in his shadow, and they were healed. How many knows that's Scriptural? [Congregation says, "Amen."—Ed.] That's just as much Scripture as John 3:16. See, It's all God's Word. Now, the people, you know the shadow of that man did not heal the people.
E-357 But, look, if the power of God was upon that prophet, for years and years after he died, insomuch that a dead man was throwed on his body, his bones. The body wasn't even there; the bones was there. And the Presence of God was upon those bones, until that dead man come to life.
E-358 Now don't you know that that same God that did all those things is right here tonight? To—to me, I think we should be the most happiest people in all the world. Just think of this.
E-359 I—I hope that I haven't impressed my audience to believe that it's something that I do myself. You—you know better than that. I, I am your brother, see, and I am just your brother.
E-360 But I do know, I do know this, that God is here. And I know that He has given something to us, that we cannot explain it, only by the Word of God, claims that it should be here at this time. So, it also gives us identification to know that we're living in the last days. It gives us identification to know that this people, this chosen, elected, called-out, predestinated…
E-361 Now, that's a big word, predestinate, but we all know that it's the truth. We absolutely know that the infinite God predestinated all things by foreknowledge before the foundation of the world, even the Lamb was slain; and every name that would ever be on the Book, was put on the Book before the Book was ever written. Now how many knows that's true? [Congregation says, "Amen."—Ed.]
E-362 And Jesus came to—to redeem those that were in the Book. In the Bible, the Lamb came from behind the curtain, and taken the Book and opened the Seals that It was sealed with, for He came to claim all He had redeemed. He's the Intercessor now, an Intercessor making intercessions for those who He has redeemed. All whose name was written on the Lamb's Book of Life, is redeemed.
E-363 As I made a crude little statement the other night… I'm waiting for you all to get these handkerchiefs here. I'm not just trying to preach over again, but I said there was a little statement… I hope this don't sound sacrilegious, see. But like the farmer that set the hen, and didn't have enough eggs, so he got an eagle egg, and he set it under the hen and she hatched out an eagle. And he was a very odd fellow amongst all the chickens, because they didn't see things alike. But that's all he ever seen, was the hen. He only heard one voice, it didn't sound like his voice. Neither could he make a voice like the hen or the chicken. He didn't appreciate their diet, as they eat from the barnyard. There was something different about him, yet he didn't know what the difference was.
E-364 And then one day, there was the mother eagle that knowed she had laid so many eggs. And there was one of those eggs, which was to be her son, was missing. So she went hunting for him, and she found him in the barnyard. And she screamed. And when she screamed, the little eagle knew the voice of the mother. As Jesus said, "My sheep know My Voice."
E-365 I think, last night, when I seen that panel of Baptists, Presbyterian, and whatmore, they might have been brought out under a hen. Excuse me, brother, see. But Mother knew She had Her darlings out there somewhere. So them men standing there, not disputing the feeding they had got from the mother hen, and so forth, but now they're eagles, you see, they fly for their food. See?
E-366 And I think the church is something like a scene I seen not long ago, coming down from Tucson, or from—from Phoenix, going to Tucson. I saw a mysterious sight. And it kind of broke my heart, to see what had taken place, how… a hawk, that used to fly in the air, a brother to the eagle, which is a type of the church.
E-367 And Jehovah is the Eagle. He called His prophets "eagles." He called Himself, Jehovah, "Eagle."
E-368 But this hawk has long lost its identification, because it doesn't no more sail through the air and hunt its meat like it's supposed to. But it sits on the telephone wires and acts like a scavenger. He—he hunts for dead rabbits that the cars has killed, and him and the vultures get out there and eat together. He hops like a vulture, instead of walking like he should walk. He has lost his identification.
E-369 And I say this with all godly love and respect, the church has long lost her identification as a sister eagle. She sits around. Instead of digging into the Word and find whether these things are right, she waits for a bunch of Sunday school literature that's been made up by a bunch of intellectuals somewhere, some dead rabbit that's been killed somewhere else. Hops like a vulture! God help us to fly away from that.
E-370 These promises are true. Not what somebody said about It, but what God said about them! They are true. I'm so glad to be associated with eagles.
Let us pray together for our sick ones.
E-371 Dear Heavenly Father, it is taught in the Bible that they taken from the body of Paul, handkerchiefs and aprons, and demons went out of people, and unclean spirits left them. Now, Father, me standing here over these handkerchiefs, represents every person that's present. It's the Body of Christ, us together. We are claiming, by grace and love, that we are here to represent His Bride, and believing, associate with Him in His Kingdom. And we know we're not Saint Paul, but we know You're still Jesus.
E-372 And we pray that You will honor the faith of these people. If they had lived back in the days of Paul, they'd have heard this same Gospel, seen these same things. Therefore, they're the same kind of people. You're the same God. So I pray, Dear God, that You'll honor their faith, like You did those in the Bible days. And may every demon power, every sickness, every affliction, that's bound the people that these handkerchiefs and parcels here represent, may that evil power of sickness leave them.
E-373 It was said, one time, that Israel was walking in the line of duty, to a promised land. And right in the line of duty, the enemy come and backed them up in a corner, and the Red Sea cut them off from the line of duty, and in their march. And God looked down from the heavens, through the Pillar of Fire, and the sea got scared. It rolled back its waves, because God's waves was in the bottom of the sea. And It made way for His children, walking in the line of obedience.
E-374 Now, God, if the Red Sea would get scared, and roll back its waves, roll back its waters, and give place to a journeying children marching in obedience; Dear God, tonight, look down through the Blood of Your Son, Jesus, Who made the promise. And when these handkerchiefs are placed upon the sick bodies of the people, may the eyes of God look, and may that sickness, that devil, be scared and move away. And may the people keep the journey to the promised Land, with good health and strength. As Israel marched through the wilderness, there wasn't one feeble person among them, at the other end. May it be granted to these people, Father, for we send these handkerchiefs, in Jesus Christ's Name. Amen.
E-375 God bless you, each one. As you get your handkerchiefs now, you believe with all your heart. Do you believe that God hears this? [Congregation says, "Amen."—Ed.] See? I, I want to say this. Don't, don't doubt, one bit. See, it may seem real strange. Excuse me, just a minute. Don't doubt, one bit. But believe now that, what we have asked, God gives.
E-376 Do you believe that's God here, knows the secret of your heart? You know and believe that's God? [Congregation says, "Amen."—Ed.] Now just settle your mind now, it can't be nothing else. See?
E-377 Now, what if there would be a great tomorrow, way years ago this will be history. And when people, in years to come, if it was to be such, they'd come and say, "Well, if I would have been living then, I'd seen that done, boy, that's all I would have had to know. I'd have believed it right then!" See, the same thing that you believe, if you had been back there when they done it then! Remember, it's still Him. It's His Life in you. God bless you.
